Daniel: Wait.

Chelsea: What?

Daniel: This isn't right.

Chelsea: No. It's right.

Daniel: I can't. I can't, Chelsea. I can't do this.

Chelsea: Yeah, that's what you keep saying, but you also said that you're staying in Salem for me, right? That's what you meant.

Daniel: No, I'm not. I'm not gonna hurt you.

Chelsea: You know what? If you don't want to do this, then just go.

Daniel: Why does this have to be so complicated?

Chelsea: It doesn't. Staying in Salem for me, right? That's what you meant.

Daniel: No, I'm not. I'm not gonna hurt you.

Chelsea: You know what? If you don't want to do this, then just go.

Daniel: Why does this have to be so complicated?

Chelsea: It doesn't.

John: Like it?

Sami: Well, look who's back. You were out early this morning. Where did you go?

E.J.: Actually, I had a meeting with a potential client.

Sami: "A potential client"? I thought you were already pimping for her.

E.J.: What do you mean?

Sami: Come on, E.J. I can smell her cheap perfume, not to mention her mangy dog. What, was she sitting on your lap?

E.J.: Are you finished? I have a little bit of work to do, so if you'll excuse me.

Sami: Why are you trying to hide it, E.J.? I know you were with Nicole.

Roman: Nicole, what are you doing here?

Nicole: Why does life have to be so hard?

Abe: Not now, Nicole.

Nicole: Victor -- cranky bastard that he is -- keeps having Henderson move my stuff onto the front lawn of the mansion, which, by the way, is my home every bit as much as it is his. So now I am forced to implore Henderson to move everything back in. No mean feat since all that man wants to do is sit on the couch and veg.

Abe: Look, I said not now, Nicole.

Nicole: I know that this is not a matter of national security, but I was hoping that the police, I.E. one of you, would intervene on my behalf.

Roman: Did you hear Abe?

Nicole: Well, who's she?

Roman: Here we go. You heard Abe. Let's go! Let's go! Any problems that you and Victor are having, you need to take care of on your own.

Nicole: But he keeps trying to throw me out of my own home.

Roman: Not a matter for the police, Nicole.

Nicole: Oh, no?

Roman: No. Don't let her back in.

Nicole: Or my precious Pookie. Would it matter to the police then?

Abe: Okay, Ava's made bail. Give her her things back. Cut her loose.

Ava: And where am I supposed to go?

Roman: Well, Ava, that is really not our problem. You just make sure that you don't leave town. [Telephone rings]

Abe: Carver. When was this? All right, we're on our way. Bo just went ballistic on Martino down at the pub. Laid him out.

Roman: Well, let's go. Where do you suppose you think she went?

Abe: Do you really have to ask that?

Martino: You're not very happy with me, are you, detective?

Bo: You think this is funny? I don't find it very amusing when a scum-sucking pig like yourself comes into my town and starts murdering people.

Martino: You think you know me?

Bo: I know if it wasn't for you, my Pop would still be alive. Son of a bitch!

Martino: Relax, relax. Take it easy. You've got to respect this gentleman's right to question me. After all, he is an officer of the law.

Bo: Turn around. Put your hands behind you.

Martino: No problem, officer. Whatever you want.

Ava: What's going on here?

Bo: Your old man's going down. Nothing you can do about it.

Ava: No? Well, I'm not so sure I don't agree.

Daniel: I can't. I can't. I can't. You -- you -- you have a boyfriend. You two -- you two are --

Chelsea: No, I -- I thought so, too, and then...I don't know, I realized how I felt about you, and it's -- it's completely different. And I have to tell him that, I know, and I will. I don't want to hurt him, but... he deserves to be with somebody that feels the same way about him, and that's just not me anymore. I'm sorry. This is too much for you, isn't it?

Daniel: Shh, shh, shh. You are so beautiful. No, I can't. I cannot get involved with you. Mnh-mnh. Mnh-mnh. Not now.

Chelsea: Not now.

Daniel: No.

Chelsea: Okay. So, this is a timing thing. You just need to wait.

Daniel: No, we can't be together.

Chelsea: You mean now.

Daniel: Ever.

Chelsea: Why?

Daniel: There's s-- there's so many things. Some obvious, some -- some not so obvious, but you're young, okay? You're young.

Chelsea: You're pulling the age card?

Daniel: No. It's just what my life is. It's what it is. It's what it's been. I --

Chelsea: Are you married?

E.J.: What were you up to today?

Sami: Stop changing the subject.

E.J.: Oh, I see. So it's perfectly acceptable for you to interrogate me about my day, but I can't ask you any questions about yours, right?

Sami: I had a very busy morning, filled with a messy breakfast for the twins -- which required a bath -- a lovely walk through the park, and now they are sound asleep, which I am very proud of. So, let's get back to the wicked witch of the west and what she wants from you.

E.J.: Why do you assume that I was with Nicole?

Sami: Mostly because she's your only client.

E.J.: Actually, she's not. Mickey's been kind enough to throw me a few bones lately.

Sami: Really?

E.J.: Really. Yes, I actually have a couple of clients now. You should be happy, darling. The money is beginning to come in.

Sami: Well, color me so surprised.

E.J.: Okay, look, anyway, I had an idea. I need to get some stuff for the office. Now I have a bit of cash, and I'd love to buy you something pretty, so why don't we go down to the mall?

Sami: E.J., if you really do have money, the highest priority is saving it up so we can get the twins out of this house of horrors.

E.J.: Oh, now you want to leave here. Why is that?

Sami: I never wanted to live here. I'm an adult. I don't want to be living with my Mom and my stepfather, who's going through some really weird things right now, and he's got that freak-show butler. The place is called the DiMera mansion. Need I say more?

E.J.: But you are a DiMera, my dear.

Sami: [Chuckles] You're not very good at politics, are you, E.J.? Don't ever run for office.

E.J.: Okay, look, you don't like the name. You don't like living here. I understand that.

Sami: Last night being the perfect example.

E.J.: Why? What happened last night?

Sami: Never mind.

E.J.: No, no, tell me.

Sami: I had a strange encounter with John last night. Although I guess every encounter with John is strange.

E.J.: Strange how?

Sami: We sort of bonded in an incredibly dysfunctional way.

E.J.: Okay, that is certainly strange.

Sami: And now I'm starting to feel guilty.

E.J.: Why?

Sami: I think I regret some of the things that I said to him.

John: Well, Blondie? What's the verdict?

Marlena: John, I don't want to offend you. I just think it's a little much.

John: Well, I don't think so. It's -- it's beautiful. It's you.

Marlena: It embarrasses me. It's just so big, and it's so... here, present in the room, and I'm -- could you take it down, please?

John: No.

Marlena: Look, I appreciate that you went through a lot of trouble to have it done --

John: Just consider it a monument to our...rich and exciting history. You know, that crazy roller-coaster ride we called our past.

Marlena: What do you know about our past, our history?

John: A lot more than I did.

Marlena: John, I don't understand.

John: Let's just say somebody filled me in.

Marlena: Who did that?

John: Well, I can't say anything about that.

Marlena: But --

Sami: Oh, John, listen, thank you for trying to keep your promise, but, um...it's okay. Mom, I'm the one who told him everything.

Marlena: What did you say? What were you thinking?

John: It wasn't her. It was me. I got curious. And since Samantha seems to be more objective about me than you are, I could count on her to give it to me straight.

Marlena: "More objective."

John: She didn't worship me the way you did. At least that's what she said.

Marlena: I wish she hadn't said a thing.

Sami: Look, Mom, all I said was that I saw him as a regular man with flaws and all, and I didn't think of him as a hero.

Marlena: And what did you tell him?

Sami: You know, stories, memories.

Marlena: Good memories.

Sami: Yeah, well, I told him lots of good memories and happy times. Didn't I, John?

John: Well, what you told me was very entertaining... not to mention enlightening.

Marlena: Then she must have told you that you were a wonderful man -- kind, gentle, generous.

John: No.

Marlena: "No"?

John: No. In fact, what I found out was... I could be a real jerk when I put my mind to it. And so could you.

Daniel: Married? Nope. No, not now.

Chelsea: But you were. Daniel.

Daniel: You know what's important here is that you have Nick. You have someone.

Chelsea: That's not what's important at all. I just told you that I'm not in love with him anymore.

Daniel: Well, I need to be alone. That's my life. I travel like a gypsy. And you know what? That's the way it's gonna stay.

Chelsea: "That's the way that it's gonna stay." I don't get you. [Chuckles] Is that -- is that the way you want it to be?

Daniel: Yeah.

Chelsea: Do you not feel like maybe you deserve to be with somebody? Because if that's the case, I mean, I've -- I've been there. I could help you with that.

Daniel: Nope. No, you can't. It'd be a waste of time to help me.

Chelsea: I don't consider time spent with you a waste at all. Actually, it's -- it's all that I want to do. So, um, maybe if you are on the same page with me, then, um, whatever the problem is, we can fix it together.

Daniel: No. You can't. There is something here that you cannot fix.

Bo: You...your reputation... your little girlfriends over there don't scare me. You have the right to remain silent.

Roman: Bo! Bo, what the hell are you doing?

Bo: Making an arrest.

Roman: Max, put the gun away. You two, stay put.

Ava: You never should have bailed me out of jail, Daddy.

Martino: What are you talking about?

Ava: You kept me in a prison for years. And then when I finally get locked up for real, you bail me out. Why?

Martino: Baby, because I love you. You're my little girl, and you always will be.

Ava: Just stop it, okay? Stop it. My head is so spun around from all of those drugs that that shrink gave me, I don't even know what to think anymore.

Martino: I wish I knew what that greedy quack did to you, Ava.

Ava: Did you pay him to give me those drugs?

Martino: Ava, honey, you know better than that.

Ava: No, no. I don't know. But thanks to what he did, I went out of my mind. And when I think about the things that I did, I can't bear it.

Martino: Ava.

Ava: Daddy, did you do it?

Martino: Honey, stop it.

Ava: No.

Martino: Just stop, please?

Ava: Stop what?

Bo: I've heard enough.

Abe: Bo, Bo, Bo. Bo, take it easy. Come on, Vitali. Sit down right here.

Martino: All right.

Abe: We have no charges.

Bo: What the hell are you talk -- I'm not gonna let him get away with murder.

Roman: Bo, listen to him. We have got no charges. And that's not what this is about anyway, is it?

Bo: Did you hear what she just said, huh? He is responsible for Pop's death. He let that crazy bitch run free after that shrink fills her full of drugs. She also kidnaps Hope and almost kills her.

Abe: Calm...down.

Bo: Okay, all right. I'm fine.

Roman: Are you sure you're fine?

Bo: Yeah.

Roman: Yeah? All right.

Bo: Even if I have to take off my badge...you're gonna pay for what you did.

Roman: Bo. Bo, that's enough. This is not the right way to do it, all right?

Stephanie: Uncle Bo, you're bleeding. Let me get you some water.

Martino: Hey, Ava. Ava, come here. I need to talk to you.

Ava: I don't want to talk to you. I need some time away.

Martino: Time away from what?

Ava: From you.

Martino: Why?

Ava: Now that my head is finally starting to clear from all of these drugs, I need to figure out where the last few years of my life went.

Martino: Ava, baby --

Ava: Don't call me that. Don't. Daddy, I don't know. Maybe...it's because I'm out on bail... maybe I'm finally starting to see you for who you really are, but this is the freest I have felt in a long time. Goodbye.

Kate: Are you really a heartbroken father, or was that just a performance?

Martino: That wasn't a performance. I love that girl.

Kate: Not if you've done the things that she accused you of.

Martino: She wasn't well, Kate, so I had to do what I had to do to protect her. Why don't we sit down and finish breakfast?

Chelsea: Daniel, nobody's past is more messed up than mine. I've made some of the worst mistakes that...I'm only recently starting to forgive myself for. I'm gonna tell you something... because I want to. It's really hard for me, but... I want to. Um... my Dad and Hope had a son... Zack, and, um... he died, and... it was my fault. Um...I was responsible.

Sami: Well, I --

E.J.: Excuse me.

John: From what I understand, you and I hooked up on a conference-room table.

Marlena: John.

Sami: Oh, my God.

John: What?

Marlena: It isn't appropriate to talk about those kinds of things in public.

John: Why not? I mean, half the town knew about it, except me.

E.J.: Actually, for what it's worth, I had no idea.

Marlena: Samantha.

Sami: Mom, I'm sorry, all right? I'm sorry.

Marlena: Why would you tell him that?

John: Why not? I mean, didn't it happen to me also?

Marlena: But that's not the point. I will talk to you about this some other time.

Sami: We'll talk later. Sounds good. Thank you.

Marlena: So...E.J.

E.J.: Present, yes, hi.

Marlena: How is it going with immigration?

E.J.: That's a good point, actually. I should have heard something by now. [Fax machine ringing] And, uh...maybe that's it.

Nicole: Oh, goody. Am I just in time?

Daniel: Chelsea, I know about Zack. I've known for a while.

Chelsea: Who told you?

Daniel: People at the hospital. But I've gotten so focused on my work, I guess I've just...become jaded about all the pain and suffering. But hearing it from your lips, it's, uh -- it's different. It's sad.

Chelsea: I didn't want you to think less of me.

Daniel: I don't.

Chelsea: He would have been 8.

Daniel: Would you, um -- why don't we sit down?

Chelsea: Yeah. So, there you have it. That's the worst thing that's ever happened to me.

Daniel: And I'm touched.

Chelsea: Well, I-I didn't tell you so that you'd be touched. I told you because...I wanted to. I wanted to let you in and no matter how scary that might be. So, maybe you want to do the same?

Daniel: Chelsea, you are an amazing person. And someday you will find someone who is worthy of you.

Chelsea: I-I care about you. I just want to know you.

Daniel: No. No, you don't. And I'm done talking here.

Chelsea: Are you serious?

Daniel: Yeah, I'm gonna go.

Chelsea: Where are you gonna go again? Are you gonna try to leave town?

Nicole: This is so exciting.

Sami: What is she doing here?

Nicole: Does that Ralph guy make martinis?

E.J.: Hey. What are you doing? Give me the fax, please.

Sami: No way. Not until you tell me what you have going on with Nicole.

E.J.: Samantha, give me the fax, please.

Sami: I would be happy to as soon as you admit that you have some sort of devil's pact with this skinny bitch.

Marlena: Samantha!

Nicole: "Devil's pact"? All right, Sami, I know you're paranoid, but this is a tad extreme, even for you.

Sami: That's funny. I don't recall asking you for your opinion about anything. Start talking.

Marlena: Before you start making accusations that are gonna --

Sami: Are you having sex with Nicole or what?

Nicole: Fess up, E.J. Tell her. Tell Sami about our mad, passionate affair.

Sami: I knew it.

E.J.: There's nothing to know. Nicole, stop it, all right?

Nicole: If I only could.

E.J.: Stop winding her up. We're not sleeping with each other. Give me the fax.

Sami: If you're not sleeping together, then why is she here?

Nicole: That is a really good question. If I wanted to have sex with E.J., why the hell would I show up here?

Sami: What are you doing here?

Nicole: The boring truth -- I'm here to talk strategy with my lawyer. Is that a crime?

Sami: Just about everything you do is a crime.

E.J.: All right, okay, look, I'm sure Nicole's reasons for being here are strictly professional, right? Thank you. Can I have the fax, Samantha?

Sami: Hell no.

E.J.: Samantha.

Sami: You will have to rip this paper from my cold, dead hand.

E.J.: Okay, will somebody please help me?

Marlena: Samantha, give him the fax back.

Nicole: She doesn't listen to her mama, does she?

E.J.: Just give me the -- Samantha.

Sami: No, no. Oh.

E.J.: All right? Just give it to me.

Sami: You bastard.

Nicole: Well? What does it say?

E.J.: It's good. My Visa's been renewed. That's good.

Nicole: Yes! Great news! Time to celebrate. Where's the booze?

Sami: I knew it! You are obviously in this with him. Otherwise, you wouldn't be so happy.

Nicole: You are such a cynic. I'm happy because you and E.J. are truly an adorable couple. And it does my heart good to know that the two of you won't be an entire ocean apart.

Sami: You don't have a heart. Now get the hell out of here.

Nicole: Sami, don't push me. You know what happened last time.

Sami: [Chuckles] Yeah, I do.

Daniel: I would like to live in Salem, but I can only do that if you understand that we can't be together.

Chelsea: Because you have baggage.

Daniel: Don't play that.

Chelsea: You know what? I'm not. That's your reason, and I accept it. So go. You don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine. I won't bug you at all. Look, I'm not gonna sit here and try to persuade you to want to be with me. I think that if you really wanted to be, you'd find a way to make that happen.

Daniel: Well, obviously, I'm not good at this, so I better go.

Chelsea: Yeah, I think you better.

Kate: I think I've lost my appetite. I think that these family matters that you came to Salem to clear up are getting a little too complicated for me.

Martino: Well, family matters often are. I tell you what, I'll give you a call when things calm down. How's that?

Kate: I don't think that's a good idea.

Abe: Bo, we can't let Vitali know we have him under a spotlight.

Bo: Spotlight, hell. We should have the lights of Wrigley Field on the son of a bitch.

Roman: Well, if he senses we're on to him, he will cover his tracks big-time.

Abe: Or sacrifice one of his low-level soldiers and have him cover it for him.

Roman: Okay, we got two unsolved murders here. All signs point to Vitali. We just need to find a way to prove it.

Bo: And we will do just that.

Ava: Bad time?

Roman: What are you doing here?

Ava: Look, I need to find out the truth about my Father and if he really was responsible for what happened to me. And if you can help me find the truth, then maybe I can help you.

Bo: Hello? Anybody home? Chelsea? She shouldn't be out. She should be home resting.

Roman: Well, maybe it's a good idea she went out. Help get her mind off things.

Bo: Her mind should be on recuperating, getting her strength back.

Roman: So should yours.

Bo: Were we talking about me?

Roman: All you do is push yourself, little brother, harder and harder.

Bo: I'm fine.

Roman: You will burn yourself out, Bo.

Bo: I'll make you a deal. I won't push myself so hard if you promise me something.

Roman: Okay, name it.

Bo: That we do everything we can to put Vitali behind bars. Do you think Abe will take Ava's deal?

Roman: Don't know. Not sure we can trust her, either, but as far as Vitali goes, it's just a matter of time before we nail him.

Bo: He should be put down like a mad dog. I want him to suffer.

Roman: He will. But if I keep my promise, you'll keep yours, right?

Bo: I didn't promise anything.

Roman: You just promised you would stop pushing yourself, and I'm gonna hold you to it. Bo, your family needs you healthy, Chelsea especially, with what she's going through.

Bo: Yeah. I'm not sure the full impact of what's happened to her has hit her yet. I got to figure a way to help her deal with this whole thing.

Stephanie: Hey, you.

Chelsea: Hi.

Max: Hey. It's good to see you up and moving around.

Chelsea: Thank you.

Stephanie: Are you sure you should be? You look a little pale.

Chelsea: Yeah, I'm good. Thanks.

Nick: I tried to reach you on your cell.

Chelsea: Yeah, I had it off.

Nick: Yeah, I figured.

Chelsea: Can I talk to you alone for a second?

Nick: Yeah, sure.

Stephanie: Whatever it is she's gonna tell him, I know it's not gonna be good. I had a little talk with her, and I could tell you, Nick is gonna need some really good friends right now.

Max: Yeah, well...I think I can be a good friend to Nick.

Stephanie: I hate to say it, but I think Chelsea's gonna get hurt in all this, too.

Sami: You have some nerve grinning like a Cheshire cat.

Nicole: What? I can't be pleased that my lawyer isn't getting deported?

Sami: "Lawyer"? You mean lover, at the very least partner in crime.

Marlena: Oh, Sami, give it a rest.

Sami: How can I when Bonnie and Clyde here won't tell me what they're up to?

Nicole: Okay, I should go.

Sami: You just now figured that out?

Nicole: I can sense when I'm not wanted.

Sami: Oh, really? I would think that that would be a sense that you have highly developed by now.

Nicole: Ciao.

Sami: [Exhales sharply] What are you smiling about?

E.J.: You. I found your little temper tantrum rather amusing.

Sami: Oh, really? "Amusing"?

E.J.: Really, yes, because you, my dear, are jealous. [Chuckles] I have to say, it rather warms my heart.

Sami: E.J., get over yourself. I'm hardly jealous. You can do whatever you want with a low life like her, all right? Mom, back me up here.

Marlena: Actually, I think I'll stay out of this one. Anybody want a drink? I'm sure ready for one.

John: Finally. Who wants a drink?

E.J.: Please.

Marlena: Oh, no, I meant lemonade, John.

E.J.: Oh, no, no, no. Let's celebrate me being able to stay in the country. John, some of your finest champagne, please.

John: Absolutely.

E.J.: Wonderful.

Sami: Well, I know what I'm gonna be celebrating. Now that we're sure you won't be deported, I can finally get that annulment that I have been dying for.

E.J.: Come on, Sami. she likes me. She really likes me. [Laughs]

Marlena: What's that?

John: What's what?

Marlena: That look. That sly, little smile.

John: I was just thinking.

Marlena: About what?

John: About how hot we must have been together.

Marlena: Yes. Something like that.

John: You mean something... like this. So, where's that conference table when you need one?

Marlena: That's not funny.

John: I wasn't being funny. I think you still got it, Blondie.

Marlena: Listen, uh... what, uh, prompted you and Sami to take that little stroll down memory lane?

John: It always starts with insomnia. And then I start thinking about that disk I found in the safe. So Samantha and I decided to take a look at it. But it was encrypted.

Marlena: Mind if I see it?

John: It's right here. It was right here.

Marlena: What happened to it?

John: It's gone.

Chelsea: So, um...I'm guessing that you already have an idea of what I'm gonna say.

Nick: Yeah, I have an idea.

Chelsea: I'm sorry, Nick. I wasn't planning on having this happen.

Nick: What happened?

Chelsea: I don't know. [Chuckles] I just needed to re-evaluate things, I guess. I just think -- I think it'll be better this way for both of us.

Nick: Not for me. I can't deny the way I feel just because you feel differently. I'm in love with you.

Chelsea: I'm so sorry.

Nick: No more talking. I want you to be happy... with or without me.

Chelsea: How are you so amazing?

Nick: You taught me. [Sighs] I'll see you later.

Chelsea: Friends?

Stephanie: You okay?

Chelsea: Nick and I are over.

Max: Chelse, I'm sorry.

Chelsea: Yeah.

Abe: As soon as we have any concrete evidence on your father, Ava, we'll let you know.

Ava: All right, I'll be at the Salem Inn.

Abe: I don't think that's a good idea.

Ava: Why not?

Abe: Steve and Kayla live there.

Ava: Don't worry about them. I'm not gonna bother them anymore.

Abe: Just the same, we'll be watching.

Ava: Yeah, I got it. Hey, and, um, tell Bo to be careful, huh? People who take on my Daddy seem to...end up dead.

Eddie: I don't know, Mr. Vitali. Maybe we shouldn't have --

Martino: Maybe we shouldn't what?

Eddie: Maybe we shouldn't have taken out the snitch and the doctor all in one day.

Martino: What did you do, grow a brain all of a sudden? I didn't hear you two come up with a better plan.

Eddie: Well, no, not exactly.

Martino: Good, keep your opinions to yourself. Right now we got to figure out a way to get my daughter back home where she belongs.

Eddie: Right. You know the cops are gonna be coming for you.

Martino: Yeah, that's my guess. That's all right. Let them come. I'll be ready. They want to step into my world, they want to mess with my family, then they'll pay.

Eddie: You mean like Patch.

Martino: I still owe him for what he did to Ava. So he's first. Then I'm gonna whack that son-of-a-bitch cop that clocked me. Follow? Good.

Roman: Bo...I know how much you want this guy. I know how bad it's eating at you. But right now, you got to concentrate on taking care of your family. Let Abe and me deal with Vitali.

Bo: All right, but you better get him before he hurts somebody else.

Nicole: She's the only one I could really count on.

E.J.: Come here.

Lexie: You are an excellent doctor.

Daniel: Maybe you should know what happened the last time I got involved with a patient.

John: Well, now that I know how you really feel about me, you have just jumped to the top of my suspect list.
