Abe: Look, regardless of what Philip Kiriakis says, we don't have enough evidence to charge John Black. Paul Hollingsworth is going in front of the grand jury soon. We'll see how that goes. The case we have against him isn't exactly airtight. Uh, yes. The investigation is pending. I'll keep you posted.

Lexie: Bad time?

Abe: Yes, I've got to go. Got to go. Yeah. What a pleasant surprise.

Lexie: Hi, sweetheart. I hope I'm not interrupting. I didn't mean for you to hang up.

Abe: Oh, no worries. It's just the D.A.

Lexie: Whoa, whoa, whoa. You hung up on the D.A. for me?

Abe: You're my wife. So, what brings you down here? I thought you were going home right after work.

Lexie: Yeah, yeah, I was, but I don't know. I got in my car, and I... I started driving and ended up here.

Abe: You okay?

Lexie: Actually, no. I had a really bad time at work today. You think you have a few minutes for your wife?

Bo: Hey! Look who's up.

Chelsea: I guess I was pretty tired before.

Bo: Yeah.

Chelsea: I fell asleep in your arms, huh?

Bo: You did.

Chelsea: [Laughs]

Bo: Brought you a little buddy.

Chelsea: Thank you.

Bo: How you feeling?

Chelsea: Fine, I guess.

Bo: You sure?

Chelsea: Yeah. I mean, it's weird to think about me never being able to get pregnant or have my own kids, but I guess I really just can't think about that. Got to live in the moment, you know?

Bo: Yeah. That's good. I, uh, called your mom. And, um, she thought of something. If it's okay with you, we'd like to have Marlena come and talk to you.

Chelsea: You think I need counseling?

Bo: Well, it might help to talk to someone who is objective.

Chelsea: Um... I know that what I went through is really terrible and everything, but I think I kind of just want to deal with this one on my own, okay?

Bo: Okay. But if you change your mind or think of anything that I can do to help out, you just let me know, all right?

Hope: I have the best medicine for Chelsea.

Chelsea: Ciara!

Hope: Say hi, Ciara.

Chelsea: Hi!

Hope: She misses her big sister.

Max: Oh, man. All right. Here you go. You want anything else?

Daniel: Keep that drink full, and this ought to do the trick for now, eh?

Max: You got it.

Kate: Hey...doc.

Daniel: Hey.

Kate: Enjoying yourself?

Daniel: I certainly am. You care to join me?

Kate: No. Actually, no. I'm here for a meeting. I saw you.

Daniel: Yeah.

Kate: This is a little awkward, and maybe it's not my business, but shouldn't you be monitoring Chelsea rather than hanging out here, drinking?

Daniel: Wow, you are relentless when it comes to Chelsea, but you know what? I'm not on call. I'm here on my own time, so...

Kate: Yeah. But if we have a problem with Chelsea, we can't afford for you not to be on call, as you put it, right?

Daniel: I don't think there will be a problem with Chelsea, considering I'm no longer on her case.

Anna: This is so -- oh!

Tony: Listen, I've got to go. Some klutz just bumped into me, and I dropped my laptop.

Anna: Klutz? Some klutz? Well, that's rude, Tony, even for you.

Tony: [Sighs]

Stephanie: Guess who.

Max: Um...Beyoncé©.

Stephanie: You wish.

Max: No. I know how lucky I am to have you.

Stephanie: That was sweet.

Max: I try. So, how are your folks?

Stephanie: Oh, exhausted. They fell asleep the moment their heads hit the pillow.

Max: Oh, and you came to visit me. I'm flattered.

Stephanie: I just wanted to thank you for saving my life. I mean, I hate to think if that guy --

Max: But he didn't. Okay? I'm just glad I got there in time.

Stephanie: You really are my hero. You do know that, right?

Max: I know. And you're much hotter than Beyoncé© anyway.

Stephanie: [Laughs]

Max: That's what I call gratitude.

Stephanie: Mm-hmm.

Max: Okay, okay, okay. If you keep thanking me, you're gonna have to thank me all night.

Stephanie: Well, you saved my life. I owe you, don't I?

Max: Okay, let me find out where my relief bartender is, and then I'm all yours.

Stephanie: Okay. You do that. I'll be waiting.

Max: Okay.

Tony: Anna, really, I am sorry. I just didn't realize.

Anna: The klutz was me?

Tony: Well, don't take it personally. I was just venting. I should have looked where I was going.

Anna: What, that's it? No verbal sparring? No condescension? What's the matter with you, Tony? You're not acting like your normal pompous self.

Tony: Huh? No. Well, you know. My mind is elsewhere.

Anna: You want to tell me what's going on?

Tony: Sure, sure, sure. I'm just -- I'm just concerned about Kate.

Kate: If there's a reason that you took yourself off Chelsea's case, I want to know what it is.

Daniel: Oh, I'm sorry, Kate, but I don't really feel comfortable talking about that with you.

Kate: But I'm worried about her, and I have a right to know.

Daniel: Actually, you don't, which is why, if you have any questions, you should direct them to Chelsea, because she is gonna need all the support she can get.

Abe: I tell you, I feel terrible about Chelsea. How's she doing?

Lexie: She's better, but because of the infection, she won't be able to have children.

Abe: Now I know why you've had such a hard day at work.

Lexie: Oh, sweetheart, my heart just goes out to her. I mean, I know firsthand what she'll eventually have to go through. I thank God every day for you and Theo. Really, I don't know what I would do without you.

Abe: We don't know what we'd do without you, which is why I want you to take a breather. Go to dinner with me.

Lexie: Why, Abe Carver, are you asking me out on a date?

Abe: [Chuckles] You know, you've just been so stressed with work, worrying about Bo and Hope, the situation with Chelsea. It's just too much. It's just -- it's wearing you down.

Lexie: Oh, well, what about you? You put yourself in the line of fire for our friends.

Abe: Yeah. You're right. So, how about a little us time? And I think we should start right now.

Lexie: Oh, really?

Abe: [Chuckles]

Lexie: What else you got for me, hmm?

Chelsea: Hey, Ciara! You are just the best little surprise ever.

Nurse: Excuse me, Chelsea. I hate to interrupt, but we need to run a few more tests.

Chelsea: Seriously? More?

Nurse: I know it's a pain, but if you ace your tests, we might send you home today.

Bo: Hey! That's good news.

Chelsea: Yeah. Where's Daniel? I mean, no offense, but, um, shouldn't he be the one telling me this?

Anna: And why are you worried about Kate?

Tony: Because she's very upset about Chelsea.

Anna: Oh. Yeah, Caroline filled me in, and I do feel terrible for her. Is she gonna be okay?

Tony: I hope so. I should go see Kate.

Anna: Oh, Tony, before you leave, I do want to ask you something. But I need you to be honest.

Tony: Oh, well...aren't I always?

Anna: I would hope so.

Tony: Yes?

Anna: All right. Is there something going on between you and Kate?

Max: Hey, I'm back.

Stephanie: Did you track down Pete?

Max: Yeah. Yeah. He just got here.

Stephanie: That was really quick.

Max: What do you expect? I e-mailed him, I texted him, and I told him to get his butt down here A.S.A.P.

Stephanie: Man on a mission. I like it.

Max: Yeah, that I am. So, now that I'm covered, you can start thanking me for saving your life.

Stephanie: Let's go.

Max: Okay.

Kate: You can't just hint that there's something wrong with Chelsea's health and then leave me hanging.

Daniel: That wasn't my intention.

Kate: Okay, then why don't you talk to me? Why don't you tell me what's going on?

Daniel: Look, I am sorry, Kate, but that's all I can say.

Kate: Daniel, wh--

Daniel: Ethically, my hands are tied. Sorry.

Kate: Okay, fine. Fair enough. But Chelsea means the world to me, and I don't think I can take any more news concerning bad health.

Daniel: I hear you.

Kate: You're just as concerned as I am, aren't you?

Anna: Well, are you going to answer me or what? Do you have some sort of feelings for Kate or not?

Tony: You know, Anna, I wish you'd give me a little more credit here. I know we're going through a bit of a rough patch, but... I love you and only you. Don't you know that? A yes or no would suffice.

Anna: Yes.

Tony: Sorry, I didn't hear that. What was that?

Anna: Yes, I know you love me.

Tony: Yes, and do you love me?

Anna: Oh, do you even have to ask?

Kate: I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I was a little hard on you, but when it comes to my family, sometimes I'm a little nuts.

Daniel: You think? You've been nothing but caring. I wouldn't expect anything less from someone related to Chelsea.

Kate: She's a special girl.

Daniel: She's an amazing young woman.

Kate: Yeah, she is. Well, I should get going. But thank you... really... for everything that you did for her.

Daniel: It just wasn't enough.

Nurse: I'm sorry, Chelsea, but Dr. Jonas is not on call.

Chelsea: I just -- I'm sorry. I just thought that he'd be the one to discharge me, that's all.

Nurse: Generally that's true, but since he's not here, it'll be up to the attending doctor.

Chelsea: It's kind of weird that he left without saying goodbye, don't you think?

Hope: Maybe he had something else to take care of.

Chelsea: Maybe. Well, I always have him on speed dial, right?

Nurse: Hold on, honey. You can call anyone you like, but after your test. And you two might want to come back. This is gonna take a little while.

Bo: That's okay. We'll hang around.

Hope: Yeah.

Nurse: It's up to you, but she can call you when she's back in her room.

Chelsea: It's fine. Just go.

Bo: All right. We can take a hint.

Chelsea: [Chuckles]

Hope: All right, sweetheart. I'll see you in a little while. Say "see you later, big sister."

Chelsea: Bye!

Hope: Love you, sweetheart. Bye-bye. Bye-bye.

Bo: Love you, kid.

Chelsea: Love you, too.

Max: Oh, dang it. Sorry. [Clears throat]

Stephanie: No music or candles? What's up with that?

Max: I was not ready for an impromptu romantic rendezvous. But... I do have a lava lamp. What? Who needs ambiance when you got one of those?

Stephanie: Right. I mean... as charming as it is, I don't think we need it.

Max: No?

Stephanie: No.

Max: Yeah, you're right. We don't need that. We don't need any of it.

Stephanie: I think you should know by now that it doesn't matter the room, the place, candles or music. Chocolate's nice, though.

Max: Okay, I'll make a note of that.

Stephanie: I'm serious. Wherever you are, it's the most romantic place on earth for me.

Max: I feel the same way about you.

Stephanie: Well, then it's a good thing that we're here together.

Max: Perfect.

Tony: [Groans] I hope this kiss helps you understand my feelings towards you.

Anna: Well, it does some. But I can't help but worry. I mean, Kate is a powerful and beautiful woman.

Tony: But so are you.

Anna: But she's --

Tony: Oh, noth-- nonsense. I don't love Kate. I am in love with you.

Daniel: Thank you.

Lexie: Then why are you being so hard on yourself?

Daniel: Listen to me. Because I have lost objectivity. I cannot let myself be near that girl. I need to keep my distance.

Lexie: Are you saying that you are becoming emotionally involved with Chelsea?

Daniel: All right, I'll have another. And just keep them coming.

Bo: Pop gave up his life for me. My daughter risked hers. Now she can't have kids anymore. It's not fair. It's not right.

[Cellphone rings]

Daniel: Jonas. Hello?

Chelsea: Daniel, it's Chelsea.

Daniel: Chelsea.

Chelsea: Why didn't you say goodbye before you left?

Ooh, ooh a crown of sunflowers complete a halo building a golden weave I can't resist you when you are playful with me your kisses make me weak without the moon, there is no sun shining without you, there is no reason to fall in love forever ahh-ahh ahh-ahh-ahh ahh-ahh your smile keeps me believing all dreams are worth dreaming you're the one I'm meant to be with forever forever forever

Max: [Moans pleasurably] Making love to you is...

Stephanie: Amazing. I know. [Laughs]

Max: Yes, it is, but I was gonna say it feels right.

Stephanie: That too.

Max: Look, I know this may sound strange, but... I have never felt more connected to anyone.

Stephanie: I feel the same way about you. What we have is just really nice. And I hope it never changes.

Max: Why would it?

Stephanie: I don't know. I guess...I'm just always skeptical of things that happen so easy.

Max: Easy? Us? Are you kidding me?

Stephanie: Okay. All right. I guess it wasn't so easy. It did take a while.

Max: Yeah.

Stephanie: We had a few misfires when I got back to Salem.

Max: Yeah. But now that we love each other...the only thing standing in front of us is our future.

Stephanie: I like the sound of that. Wait, did you get that from a fortune cookie or something?

Max: What?! No!

Stephanie: Max...

Max: What? I don't know. Maybe. So, what did you say? We take it easy, and we have fun. Is that a deal?

Stephanie: It's a deal.

Max: Awesome.

Daniel: You're right, Chelsea. I'm sorry. I should have come by to see you. I guess I just got caught up.

Chelsea: That's okay. I mean, you're a busy guy. You could always come by and discharge me.

Daniel: Well, that's the thing. I can't.

Chelsea: Why not?

Daniel: Well, I'm no longer your doctor.

Chelsea: I'm sorry. What did you just say?

Daniel: I'm handing your case over to Dr. Carver.

Chelsea: But why? I want you.

Daniel: And I'm flattered, but I'm a surgeon. And I know your post-op recovery will best be handled by a doctor with Lexie's background.

Chelsea: I see.

Daniel: I mean, I hope that's okay with you.

Chelsea: Yeah. Um...well, listen, then, thank you for everything that you did for me and my Dad. And, um, you've been great.

Daniel: Well, you're welcome, Chelsea. And I really do hope that everything gets back to normal for you.

Chelsea: All right. Um, I guess that I will just see you around.

Daniel: Goodbye, Chelsea.

[Cellphone rings]

Max: No, do you have to get that?

Stephanie: I have to. It could be my Mom or Dad.

Max: [Groans]

Stephanie: It's Chelsea. Hey, Chelse, what's up?

Chelsea: Look, I'm sorry to bother you, but I need to talk to you for a second.

Abe: To us.

Lexie: To us.

Abe: [Chuckles] Mmm. You know, you haven't told me how you're liking your new job as chief of staff.

Lexie: Oh, honey, come on. You know how I feel.

Abe: No, I don't. Not really.

Lexie: Well, um, between my patients and my administrative duties, it's a lot of work. [Laughs] But it's no different from your workload, Mr. Commissioner.

Abe: Yeah, well, I do keep crazy hours. And I apologize.

Lexie: Don't, sweetheart. I mean, you know, we both have busy lives. But as excited as I am about my new job as chief of staff, I really don't want our family to suffer, honey. I mean, we have to make time for Theo.

Abe: And for us.

Lexie: And for us.

Tony: You know, Kate, I'm so happy that you signed off on the final concept.

Kate: Oh, I think it's brilliant. I mean, I'm a little concerned about putting my face up front, but --

Anna: What, is Kate going to be in the commercial?

Kate: Yes. Tony thinks it's a good idea to have a face in front of the brand.

Anna: Well, branding is important. So, talk concept. What exactly are you guys going after?

Tony: My idea is to have Kate become the next Martha Stewart.

Anna: [Laughs] I'm sorry. [Clears throat] I'm sorry. [Laughing] You? Sorry. No offense, but, um... you're not very homey, and I really can't picture you wearing flannel either.

Kate: Well, I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical myself at first, but I think it's going to be -- I mean, it is a great concept. It's right on the mark. I think it's going to be fun.

Anna: Mm. Well, you two aren't the only ones who are having fun. I have a new, fun, high-profile account myself -- I mean, besides the internet account with you, Kate.

Tony: That's great news, isn't it? We'd all love to hear about it.

Stephanie: Okay, Chelsea, I need you to slow down, back up, and tell me what's going on.

Chelsea: Daniel dumped me as his patient.

Stephanie: What?! How can he do that?

Chelsea: I don't know. He said that he's a surgeon, and my post-op care is better suited for someone like Dr. Carver.

Stephanie: Wow. I'm so sorry.

Chelsea: Not as sorry as I am.

Stephanie: Look, I don't think you should take it personally. Just because he's not your doctor anymore doesn't mean you can't be friends.

Chelsea: He wasn't very friendly on the phone. He was all business and professional.

Stephanie: You think there's something more to it?

Chelsea: I don't know. What if I brought this on myself?

Stephanie: You can't think that way.

Chelsea: Well, I do. I told him that I wished I wasn't his patient and he wasn't my doctor. And then I practically hit him.

Stephanie: But you didn't.

Chelsea: No, but I sounded really stupid I'm sure. I probably just scared him away.

Stephanie: Chelsea...

Chelsea: Or worse -- he found out that I was damaged goods and I couldn't have any kids, so he just bolted.

Stephanie: If that's the case, I will march right downstairs and tell him off.

Chelsea: He's at the pub?

Stephanie: Yeah.

Chelsea: And if he's downstairs, then that must mean that you're...

Stephanie: Upstairs in Max's room.

Chelsea: Am I interrupting anything?

Stephanie: No, no, it's okay. Look, we'll talk about it later.

Chelsea: Sure. Look, I got to go. I'll talk to you later, okay?

Stephanie: Bye.

Chelsea: Hey, stranger.

Nick: Hey. How's it going?

Hope: Hey.

Bo: Hey.

Hope: You need to know that what happened to Chelsea is not your fault.

Bo: Hope...if she hadn't gone through with the transplant surgery, she wouldn't be facing a life without kids.

Tony: Although, now I'm really intrigued. So, who is this fun new client of yours?

Anna: Um...

Kate: You know, I think I'm going to give the two of you a moment alone.

Tony: So, Anna, tell me -- who exactly are you working for?

Anna: John Black.

Kate: Hey.

Lexie: Hi, Kate.

Kate: I don't want to interrupt, but can I talk to you for a sec?

Lexie: Oh, no, you're not interrupting. Please, sit down.

Kate: Thank you.

Lexie: Yeah. Is something wrong?

Kate: Well, it's about Chelsea. Um, I was talking to Daniel earlier, and he told me that Chelsea was going to be needing the support of her family. So, I asked him what that meant, and he wouldn't elaborate.

Lexie: Well, I assure you, Chelsea's going to be fine. She's just been through a lot.

Kate: Yeah, I know. I know. I understand that completely, but it was just odd. It was strange. He seemed -- he seemed sad when he was talking about it, which made me think that there's something else wrong.

Lexie: Daniel's taken himself off Chelsea's case.

Kate: Yeah, I know.

Lexie: Oh.

Kate: He told me that, which I kind of thought was strange, too, because Victor had asked him specifically to look after Chelsea.

Lexie: And he wanted to.

Kate: Well, why didn't he?

Lexie: Between you and me, Daniel felt that he was becoming too emotionally involved in Chelsea's case. And he felt it best that he back off.

Max: Steph. Steph, this isn't going to accomplish anything.

Stephanie: I don't care. I don't like the way he's treating Chelsea.

Daniel: Hey! Stephanie.

Stephanie: You and I need to have a little talk.

Daniel: I'm sorry. Is there something wrong?

Stephanie: Yeah. Chelsea's hurt.

Daniel: I'm sorry. I don't know what --

Stephanie: What I'm talking about. Right.

Daniel: Yeah.

Stephanie: Look, I heard that you removed yourself from Chelsea's case. Chelsea is the best person in the world, and she is really, really vulnerable right now and needs to be around people that she trusts. And she trusts you. And now she's dealing with the reality of her condition, and she needs people to talk to. And I just wanted you to know that.

Max: Stephanie, hey. Come here. I know you're looking out for Chelsea and all, but think about what you're doing here.

Stephanie: I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm just communicating. I mean, I don't take you as the type of guy to pull the rug out from under someone. And the fact that you're putting distance between yourself and Chelsea -- I'm sure there's a really great explanation for it. But I just want you to know that you are really important to Chelsea -- more than just a doctor.

Daniel: I understand. Chelsea has some really good friends, and that's wonderful, because with friends like you, she won't need me.

Stephanie: You know what? That is where you're wrong.

Max: Hey, hey, hey. Sorry, doc.

Stephanie: [Sighs]

Anna: Well, the account for John is, um, sort of...top secret.

Tony: Oh.

Anna: It's still in the formative stages.

Tony: Of course it is. But what exactly are you advertising?

Anna: Well, I think I've said too much already. You know, darling, I'd love to tell you everything, but you know I can't talk about this with the competition.

Tony: Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we just have a little moment?

Anna: Well, we shared a kiss.

Tony: We admitted how much we loved each other.

Anna: Yes.

Tony: So, we can stop this stupid competition and just be together.

Anna: Okay. I'm not saying yes, and I'm not saying no. But we can discuss it over dinner. Where do you want to take me?

Kate: Tony, we should go. We don't want to be late for the production meeting.

Tony: Yes.

Anna: What, that's tonight? What about dinner?

Tony: Oh, no, we have to get to the meeting.

Kate: Oh, don't blame him. It's the only time I have in my schedule.

Anna: I see. Well, at least you're used to working nights.

Tony: Well, can we... continue this conversation later?

Anna: Maybe.

Tony: Listen, I'm sorry I can't take you to dinner, but this is business. I can come by your hotel room later after the meeting and give you a big hello.

Anna: I have a conflict. Business. I have a lot of calls to make.

Tony: Oh.

Anna: I know what time it is.

Nick: So, how much longer are you in here for?

Chelsea: Um, the nurse said that I could leave today or tomorrow at the latest, depending on my test results.

Nick: That's great!

Chelsea: Yeah.

Nick: So, you're good as new.

Chelsea: Not exactly. I suppose I should probably tell you something.

Nick: Okay.

Chelsea: Um... the infection was a bit more serious than they originally thought.

Nick: What do you mean?

Chelsea: Um... I'm fine, but... I'm never gonna be able to have kids.

Nick: [Exhales sharply] I'M...I'm so sorry. Are you okay?

Chelsea: Um... I guess. I mean, I don't really think it's quite hit me completely yet.

Nick: Isn't there anything Daniel could do?

Chelsea: No. No, he was too late. Can I ask you something?

Nick: Of course. Um... how does it make you feel -- the whole me not being able to have kids thing?

Nick: Chelsea, forget about me. This is about you. You mean everything to me.

Chelsea: Thank you.

Nick: It's the truth. You know how much I love you.

Chelsea: You don't know how much I needed to hear that. [Instrumental music playing]

Oh-oh yeah with every touch every move my love is yours alone I'll always be here, holding you near I'll never let go I can't say goodbye to my heart so, every beat is a promise from me I'll never let go you'll never be alone, no

Chelsea: So, does this mean you're still gonna be my doctor?

Daniel: I want to be more than just your doctor.

Stephanie: I've never been happier in my life.

Kayla: And why is that?

Stephanie: Because I'm in love.

Kayla: Those pills that Ava was taking -- you're never gonna believe what they are.

Ava: Somebody help me!
