Sami: What was with them tonight? God, they just wouldn't go to sleep.

E.J.: No, Allie wouldn't go sleep. Poor Johnny couldn't get to sleep because she kept shrieking.

Sami: You're just gonna blame Allie?

E.J.: I'm not blaming Allie. I'm just pointing out what happened.

Sami: You're pointing out that your son is perfect, and, what, Allie's a complete nightmare? Is that what you're saying?

E.J.: Where is this coming from? Samantha, you know that I'm crazy about Allie. I don't understand why you seem to resent it.

Sami: I don't resent anything. She's just not your daughter. That's all.

E.J.: Okay, it's not like I'd forgotten that, all right? I mean, you know that I love her just as much as I love Johnny. I don't see why that upsets you.

Sami: It doesn't upset me. I'm actually fine about it. [British accent] You're top-drawer, father of the year, and all of that -- what, what? Good night. I'm tired.

E.J.: Samantha, wait. You can't go to bed. You can't crash yet. We have stuff to do. We have work to do.

Sami: Work? What are you talking about?

E.J.: Well, we have to fall in love, and we basically only have tonight to do it.

Chloe: What did you just say?

Nicole: You heard me, Chloe. Victor knows where Brady is. He always has.

Chloe: Prove it.

Man: So, here's what we're going to do -- you are gonna put a big smile on your face and start walking. Scream, do anything -- I don't care if they catch me, I'll still kill you. But if you'll be a good girl, I won't have to clean blood off my shiny new knife. Are we cool? Okay. Now put on a happy face, grab your things, and start moving. [Chuckles]

Max: [Sighing] Oh. All right. Well, the keg's all hooked up, ready to rock 'n' roll.

Pete: Thanks, man.

Max: I wonder where Stephanie went.

Daniel: You want to make yourself comfortable. Monica here will get you all reconnected.

Chelsea: Okay.

Monica: Your grandfather was here waiting for you.

Chelsea: Just now?

Monica: But he had to leave.

Chelsea: Did he say when he was gonna be back?

Monica: Soon.

Chelsea: Thanks. I don't get it, Daniel.

Daniel: What's that?

Chelsea: You've done the same tests over and over again -- x-rays, blood work, M.R.I. I've been poked so many times, I'm starting to feel like a human dart board.

Daniel: Well, I'm sorry, Chelse. I just had to make sure.

Chelsea: Sure of what?

Ava: This is a big mistake.

Roman: All right, let's make this as painless as possible, okay?

Abe: Sit down, Ava.

Ava: Don't tell me what to do.

Abe: All right, stand, then.

Ava: Do you have any idea what's gonna go down when my Daddy finds out about this?

Abe: Yeah, it's Commissioner Carver. What do you got?

Ava: You know what can happen to someone when Daddy's angry.

Abe: Yeah, get back to me later.

Kayla: Abe?

Abe: We're on it, Kayla. I just spoke to the detail I had watching Stephanie. They checked with the pub. They talked to the bartender. Apparently, Stephanie was there, but she left.

Steve: With Max?

Abe: No. He went out to look for her. She just vanished without letting anyone know.

Sami: I'm really tired, E.J., but it sounded like you said something about falling in love.

E.J.: Look, we have an immigration hearing tomorrow morning.

Sami: Not tonight.

E.J.: No. Yes, Samantha, tonight. I'm sorry. We have to prove that this relationship is real. Now, they are going to ask you some very personal questions about me.

Sami: Okay, well, we can cram for it in the morning, all right?

E.J.: No, we can't cram for it in the morning because they're also going to ask me some very personal questions about you.

Sami: What about me?

E.J.: I don't know. I mean, your favorite color, your favorite food. Do you snore? I don't know.

Sami: Oh, that's an easy one. No, of course I don't snore. I never snore.

E.J.: I'll take your word for it.

Sami: E.J., what else are they gonna ask you about me?

E.J.: I have no idea. Maybe they want to know if, uh, you're a republican, I'm a democrat. Maybe they want to know if you have any phobias.

Sami: You know, it's true. I do. I have this crazy phobia of all things DiMera. And you know what the cure is? Sleep.

E.J.: You know what? Hey, wait a second. Just do me a favor. I have been working my tail off to prove that I am a valuable, contributing member of society and not just a DiMera. So do me a favor, Samantha. Would you just -- come on, just meet me halfway.

Sami: And if I don't?

E.J.: You were perfectly happy to help me before this whole situation with Nicole came up. So would you please just help me now?

Nicole: That's all you have to say -- "prove it"? I thought you'd be jumping for joy.

Chloe: If Victor really knows where Brady is, then why the hell is he hiding it? And why would he tell you?

Nicole: Use your head, Chloe. He didn't tell me. It was all right there in his trusty little P.C.

Chloe: And you just happened to see it?

Nicole: Heck, no. I hacked into it. I thought it would be a good idea to find out what that old bastard's assets were. Totally an accident, but I came across a number of large checks written to a rehab clinic in Switzerland. My curiosity was piqued, obviously, so I hired a private investigator, and I gave him a thorough description of Brady, and voilą . There he was, poor soul. And my guy got a photo him. Handsome as ever, no? You know, the thing that I just can't figure out is why he was there. As I recall, I mean, he was -- he was quite the goody-two-shoes. I mean, obviously, he had an occasional beer now and again, but an addict? It doesn't sound like our Brady.

Chloe: I tried so hard to keep him away from the...

Nicole: From what? Chloe, what happened?

Chloe: Drugs -- a variety of them all the time.

Nicole: Why didn't you tell anyone?

Chloe: Brady was ashamed of his addiction and wanted to keep it quiet. I respected that.

Victor: Like hell. She didn't want people to know because she was responsible. Brady got hooked on drugs because of her.

Kayla: What happened to our daughter? Where is she?

Ava: Oh, would you just turn the volume down? I got a headache.

Steve: If you know something, Ava, you better damn well tell us.

Ava: I don't know anything about what happened to your daughter, and if I did, I wouldn't tell you.

Steve: She's still not answering. Let's just go find her. She's got to still be in the vicinity of the pub. We'll call as soon as we know anything.

Roman: All right, keep in touch.

Abe: Look, Bo, I should have told you this before, but with everything you've been through...Chelsea's back in the hospital.

Bo: We were just th-- no one said anything to us. What happened?

Abe: It was some sort of postoperative complications.

Bo: Complications?

Abe: They're running tests as we speak.

Hope: Let's go.

Bo: Hey.

Chelsea: Hey, you're here.

Bo: Yeah, I am.

Hope: Hi, sweetheart.

Chelsea: Hi. You guys are okay.

Bo: Yeah.

Hope: How are you doing?

Bo: Not feeling so good, huh?

Chelsea: I'm better now that you guys are here.

Bo: Yeah, yeah, we're here now.

Chelsea: [Chuckles] What happened to your shoulder?

Hope: Oh, it's an old injury. No big deal.

Chelsea: Are you sure that you're okay?

Hope: I'm sure I'm fine.

Chelsea: What about you? Looking a little pale.

Bo: I'm good. What's going on with you anyway?

Chelsea: Eh, I'm a little sick, but I'm getting better.

Hope: Why is she back in the hospital?

Daniel: Well, she's developed an infection.

Bo: But, um...it's okay, right? I mean, how long does she have to stay in the hospital?

Chelsea: Would you guys stop with the questions? I'm gonna be fine. I told you that.

Bo: You're taking care of this infection, right?

Daniel: Yeah, we're taking care of it, but it's not completely gone.

Chelsea: Dad, look at me. I know you're worried, and I know that this happened as a result of the transplant, but I want you to know that if I had the opportunity to go through with it all over again, I would. Best thing I ever did with my life was save yours.

Bo: Okay, listen to me -- you got to fight this, whatever it is. We're here for you every step of the way.

Chelsea: I know that. I will fight this with Daniel's help, right?

Ava: You guys don't have the first clue who you're dealing with, do you?

Roman: Yes, we do. A very seriously disturbed young lady who needs professional help.

Ava: Oh, I need help? You two losers -- you're finished. You understand? I actually suggest that you find yourself a high-powered attorney, because my Daddy is gonna sue you for everything you've got.

Abe: Call your daddy in. We'd like to talk to him.

Ava: I want to talk to my lawyer. Now! Get him in here!

Roman: Hey! Hey! There's no reason to scream.

Abe: Make your call.

Roman: We'll step outside for a moment.

Abe: And after you've talked to your lawyer, we'll take you down to processing and booking.

Roman: Don't do anything stupid. We'll be right outside.

Ava: Hey, hey, um...I take my coffee black...two sugars. Hey, it's Ava. Yeah, call Daddy and tell him I need help.

Philip: What's going on here?

Nicole: Phew, where to begin? Well, your father, humanitarian of the century, has been keeping Brady on ice.

Chloe: Is it true? Did you really hire people to break into our apartment and kidnap Brady?

Victor: Don't you dare play the victim.

Chloe: You bastard. You set up the whole thing.

Victor: Well, why don't you enlighten us, Chloe? Tell us what your part in this whole thing was. What really happened to Brady --

Philip: Somebody better start talking. Chloe, what happened to Brady?

Chloe: He seemed so unhappy, lonely. He missed his friends in Salem, his family. I introduced him to some of my friends.

Victor: You introduced him to a bunch of junkies.

Chloe: No, it wasn't like that. They were bright, artistic --

Victor: They were self-destructive low lives, drug addicts, and you exposed Brady to them when he was unhappy and lonely, at his most vulnerable.

Chloe: Do you think that I wanted this? Do you think that it didn't torture me, that it didn't break my heart? I tried to help him.

Victor: Oh, cut the act. You're not gonna get any sympathy votes from us. Your recklessness nearly cost my grandson his life.

Steve: Hey. Is Max still gone?

Pete: Yeah, he went out a few minutes ago looking for his girlfriend.

Kayla: Did he say where he was going?

Pete: No, he said something about her cellphone. She left it upstairs.

Steve: Thanks, man.

Pete: Yeah.

Steve: That explains why she hasn't been answering her phone. Yeah, Abe, it's Steve. Listen, man, I need you to put that APB out on Stephanie right away. Can you do that? Thanks. Okay, he's gonna do it.

Man: Where the hell is that car? It should have been here by now.

Max: Stephanie!

Stephanie: Help! Somebody, help! Help me!

Man: One step closer and your girlfriend's dead.

Max: No.

Man: No?

Max: Unh-unh. If you wanted to kill her, you would have killed her by now.

Man: You want to bet?

Max: Look, you need her. That's what this is all about. She's your hostage. Look, the cops are already on their way, and you're already going down for kidnapping and attempted murder, so the best thing for you right now is to put the knife down...and pass her over.

Man: Another inch closer, I swear I'm gonna cut her throat!

Max: You don't want to do that, all right? Just put the knife down and give her to me. Come on. Don't try anything stupid, all right? The cops are already on their way. [Siren wailing]

Stephanie: Wait, Max.

Max: It's all right. Thank God you're okay.

Sami: Fine. Fine. Just ask me the dumb questions. Let's just get this over with so I can go to sleep. Ready? Shoot. Ready? Go.

E.J.: Samantha, just --

Sami: Ask me questions before you start to annoy me and I'm gonna make sure that you get on that ship to jolly old England.

E.J.: Okay, listen, all I'm suggesting, please, is that you just take a moment, take a breath, and relax.

Sami: I am so relaxed, E.J., I might fall down. Now ask me questions.

E.J.: You're relaxed and you're impatient? I thought they were mutually exclusive.

Sami: Chop, chop, E.J. Let's get to this.

E.J.: Would you sit down? Sit, please? Just for a second. Thank you.

Sami: I'm sitting. Now, ready? Go. Ready? Now.

E.J.: Okay, hold your horses. All right, maybe we should start with something simple. Um, what's your favorite food?

Sami: Grandma's clam chowder.

E.J.: Okay. But what's my favorite food?

Sami: Bangers and mash.

E.J.: Very good.

Sami: No commentary. Let's just get through this.

E.J.: Okay, all right. How about this? They're probably going to ask you about some of my good and bad habits.

Sami: Well, you've certainly got your fair share of bad habits, like that clicking noise you make when you're thinking. You know? [Clicking tongue]

E.J.: No, I don't make a clicking noise when I'm thinking.

Sami: Don't even start. Are you kidding me? You do it all the time. It's so annoying. How do you even do it?

E.J.: I do not do that. Stop it. I don't do it. I don't -- s-- thank you. No. Okay, good habits, please?

Sami: Well, that's challenging.

E.J.: Okay, well, that's why we're having a rehearsal.

Sami: [Clicking tongue] You know, it helps. I think I thought of one.

E.J.: Uh-huh.

Sami: You, um -- you put the twins down exactly the same way every night. You kiss them both on the nose the exact same way, and then -- and then you get this look on your face like you're, um... happy and sad at the same time.

E.J.: I don't -- never occurred to me that you noticed that.

Sami: Yeah, I notice lots of things.

Chloe: Oh, no. You are not putting this all on me -- no way in hell.

Victor: Well, I certainly didn't turn my grandson on to drugs. I wasn't even there. All I did was what had to be done.

Chloe: By faking a crime scene? By setting me up? You made me the prime suspect in Brady's bogus disappearance. Why? Why did you have to punish me?

Victor: Are you denying responsibility, Chloe?

Chloe: You could have cleared my name, but no. It wasn't enough that the man I loved was missing and that I was lonely and miserable. You wanted everyone to hate me. You wanted everyone to think that I had done something horrible and evil to my own husband.

Victor: You did.

Chloe: I love Brady with all my heart. I have been sick to death with worry since the moment he went missing. You could have put my fears to rest, but instead you let me suffer.

Victor: It serves you right.

Chloe: Heartless bastard.

Nicole: God, this is fun.

Philip: Why didn't you tell me? Why did you keep me in the dark about this?

Victor: I didn't want you to have to keep this secret. And I wanted this vile woman to pay for the physical and emotional agony she inflicted on my grandson.

Bo: I was right about this. I knew from the get-go this operation was a bad idea.

Chelsea: Dad, I was fully aware of all the risks going into this thing. There was no way you could have changed my mind.

Bo: Hey, the situation you're in now -- it's because of me.

Chelsea: Stop. I told you a million times before, I would never have been able to live with myself if I knew I could save your life and didn't.

Hope: How bad is the infection?

Daniel: Uh, it's not life-threatening. We've given her an increased regiment of antibiotics, and she's responding.

Bo: How did this happen? I thought we were out of the woods.

Daniel: We were, but as I explained to you before we did the surgery, she was, and is, more susceptible to an infection -- just for a while, anyway.

Chelsea: I'm gonna be fine. Stop worrying.

Bo: Is she gonna be okay?

Daniel: She will definitely survive this. She's strong, she's young, and, um...

Hope: What?

Daniel: There's also some bad news.

Chelsea: Like how bad?

Daniel: Well, I haven't lied to you before, Chelsea, and I'm not gonna start lying now.

Max: He was a little shorter than me. He had a knife, like, a jean jacket.

Officer: Is this the guy?

Stephanie: That's him.

Officer: We're gonna need you two down at the station to make statements.

Max: No problem. Are you okay?

Kayla: Stephanie? Baby! Baby! Oh, God.

Steve: You all right, baby?

Stephanie: Yeah. What about you guys? I've been so worried about you.

Steve: We're okay. What the hell happened, Max?

Max: I don't know. This guy just came out of nowhere and tried to kidnap her.

Stephanie: He had a knife and said if I didn't listen to him, that he was gonna --

Kayla: It's okay, it's okay.

Max: Wait, does this have to do with that crazy woman, the one from your past?

Steve: Stephanie told you about that, huh?

Max: Yes.

Stephanie: Papa, I was so worried, I had to tell someone. I didn't know what to do.

Steve: It's all right, baby. I'm not upset with you.

Stephanie: I mean, if I hadn't told him, he might not have worried and gone to look for me.

Kayla: It's all right. Let's not worry about it right now. We're just relieved that we're all together, safe. Let's sit down.

Steve: Listen, we should all be able to rest a little bit easier now. Ava's in custody. And they're raiding the compound where she was holding us prisoner.

Max: Great.

Steve: The Vitalis should be in jail by the end of the evening -- at least half of them, anyway.

Max: Are Bo and Hope okay?

Steve: Yeah, they're doing fine.

Stephanie: And the baby?

Kayla: Just kicked. Here, you want to see if he or she will do it again? Let's see.

Stephanie: Oh, my God.

Kayla: [Chuckles]

Stephanie: That's so amazing. I don't know what I would have done if something happened to you or the baby.

Max: Yeah.

Steve: Thanks, man. Thanks for taking care of my baby girl.

E.J.: Okay. [Grunts] Your turn to ask me questions.

Sami: Okay. All-time favorite movie star.

E.J.: Gene Hackman. Gene Kelly. Grace Kelly. Grace Kelly? Grace Kelly.

Sami: Grace Kelly. Favorite movie.

E.J.: "To Catch a Thief."

Sami: That's right. That is right. Cary Grant -- sexiest man ever.

E.J.: Uh-huh. Moving swiftly on. You're a very good mother.

Sami: Damn straight.

E.J.: But you're a terrible cook.

Sami: How dare you? You said you liked that chicken dinner I made Thursday night.

E.J.: It tasted wonderful, but you didn't make it. You took it out of the freezer. You put it in the microwave. You barely opened the box.

Sami: That's just semantics, but if you want to talk about bad habits, we could spend all day with yours. I mean, you have the morals of a groundhog with the way you're willing to take on any client that has a checkbook, even if it's someone money-grubbing, gold-digging, vicious, evil woman like Nicole Kiriakis.

E.J.: Mm-hmm. But we're over that, right? I mean, that's all done with.

Sami: Oh, yeah.

E.J.: Completely over.

Sami: Believe me, I'm over that whole "Nicole thing," as you so charmingly put it. And, besides, I don't hold grudges.

E.J.: No, please. Heaven forbid. Look, I tell you what -- aside from all the commentary, I'm pretty happy, you know? What this is illustrating is that we actually know each other pretty well.

Sami: Come on, it's not that big a deal. We just know stupid facts about each other and our bad habits.

E.J.: No, I actually think it is a pretty big deal.

Sami: Well, it's not. Not in my book.

E.J.: Well, now I have something else I can tell the immigration authorities. My lovely wife is a cynic.

Sami: [Chuckles] I'm hardly cynical. I'm just realistic. And it's realistic to say that no one is going to believe that we have fallen in love, no matter how much information we know about each other.

E.J.: Do you want this to work?

Sami: Of course I do. And I think it's gonna be a piece of cake.

E.J.: Well, I don't understand how you can think it's gonna be a piece of cake when you've just said that nobody's going to believe that we're in love.

Sami: E.J., you think I'm cynical? I'm sure the immigration office sees millions of marriages. They know better than anyone that most people who are married are not actually in love.

Bo: Lie about what?

Daniel: Well, Chelsea has peritonitis, an inflammation of the membrane that lines the abdominal cavity.

Chelsea: Okay. You said that there was some bad news, so...what is it? Am I gonna be stuck here for another million years?

Bo: She should rest.

Daniel: No. No, she needs to hear this. Look, Chelsea, the infection you have -- it's done some damage -- extensive and irreversible damage.

Ava: What?

Roman: We wanted to offer you a chance to make a preliminary statement.

Ava: Oh. Okay, well, you can take your offer, you can shove --

Roman: Before we take you down to booking.

Ava: I don't have anything to say to anybody...except Patch. You get him here, I'll start talking. Bring me Patch.

Abe: Afraid we can't do that.

Ava: You're lying. Don't you dare lie to me. I want Patch. I need him. He will take care of all this. He will explain everything to you.

Roman: Ava! Ava! One more chance to make a statement.

Ava: Would you shut up?! Why don't you get it, huh? Huh? I love Patch. He was the love of my life, and we were perfect together. I need him here. We would be together right now if it wasn't for that lying bitch pretending that she was Kayla!

Roman: Ava, that's enough, all right? That's enough.

Ava: [Chuckles] Oh, it would have been better if they had all just died. Yeah, all of them. Poof -- gone. No. No, no, no, not Patch. Not Patch. Everyone but Patch. I need Patch. He is the love of my life.

Abe: Just calm down, Ava. Calm down.

Ava: Calm down? Calm down? That's your advice to me? I am in hell here. I have done nothing but suffer pain and humiliation since he left me. Do you even know what that feels like? Do you? Do you know what it's like to have waited and waited for somebody to come back and then when they finally do, it just blows up in your face again? And the pain -- the pain is so much worse. I didn't think it was possible, but somehow it's worse.

Abe: Ava, you're a young woman. You do have a future.

Ava: A future? I don't have a future without Patch. There's nothing without him. All it is is darkness and emptiness and nothing.

Roman: Hey! Ava! Ava. Ava! Ava, stay with me. Ava! Ava!

Victor: Get out of my sight.

Chloe: Don't ever play God with my husband again, you evil son of a bitch.

Philip: Enough. Chloe, let's get out of here. Come on.

Nicole: Don't say I didn't warn you. I told you I had something on you.

Victor: And now you don't. So you can get out of my sight, too.

Nicole: Gotcha.

Stephanie: Was it horrible?

Kayla: Yeah, it was pretty frightening.

Stephanie: So, this Ava woman held you guys hostage. I mean, what exactly happened? [Door slams]

Kayla: Steve!

Steve: Oh, God, Kayla.

Kayla: Believe me, you don't want to know.

Steve: Listen, let's just focus on the fact that we're all back together safe again, huh? How about that?

Stephanie: You're right. That's all that matters now.

Steve: Can we get you something to calm your nerves, baby girl?

Stephanie: Uh, y-yeah. Tea would be great.

Kayla: Tea. Great. One tea coming up.

Max: I'll get it.

Kayla: No, no. I need the exercise.

Steve: Get her some chamomile, baby. How about you? What can we get you, Maxwell? Don't say you're gonna get it yourself.

Max: All right, fine. Um...let me get one of those "calm your nerves" offers. You know what I mean?

Steve: A shot of Irish and a beer?

Max: Sounds good, man.

Steve: Okay.

Max: Thanks.

Steve: Hey, Victor. What's going on?

Victor: Oh.

Steve: Did you know that Bo and Hope are at the hospital?

Victor: No. Are they all right?

Steve: Yeah, Bo's a little weak, but he's fine. Hope took a bullet to the shoulder. Nothing serious, luckily.

Victor: Oh, thank God. I assume this had something to do with the Vitalis.

Steve: It did.

Victor: I warned them not to get involved with them.

Steve: Well, if Bo and Hope hadn't done what they did, my family could be pretty messed up right now. I'm grateful.

Victor: Thank you for telling me.

Steve: No problem.

Bo: What kind of damage?

Daniel: Maybe Chelsea and I should speak alone first.

Chelsea: No. They're my family. Tell us.

Ava: Let me out!

Bo: Excuse me. Hope.

Ava: Let me out! No, let me out!

Roman: All right, hold up. Hold up.

Bo: What the hell happened?

Roman: She broke down, had some kind of seizure.

Hope: Is she gonna be all right?

Roman: She'll be admitted, put under police surveillance, suicide watch.

Ava: You. This is all your fault. It's all because of you.

E.J.: Let me ask you something. Do you want this to be a failure?

Sami: No, I don't. I want Johnny to grow up with his father. You know that. I've said that a million times.

E.J.: And do you want things to go back to the way they were before? Do you want to live in separate apartments? Do you want to have joint custody?

Sami: Yes, I have said that, too. I don't want to live anywhere near you, never mind in the same house. Has there ever been any confusion about that?

E.J.: No, there's no confusion. I am beginning to see things very clearly.

Sami: Hallelujah.

E.J.: You're transparent, Samantha. And you're obvious. And you're completely incapable of hiding your true feelings. So I don't really care what you think, okay? I've had enough of this. Go to bed.

Sami: E.J., you're not listening to me. That's not what I said.

E.J.: Good night, Samantha!

Sami: E.J...I can't believe you're doing this. You want to just give up? Give me a break. I can do anything I set my mind to. I don't believe in giving up, and I thought you felt the same way.

E.J.: So, what exactly are you saying?

Sami: I think we should try again.

Nicole: Hmm. Try what again? Having problems, E.J.? How can I help?

Roman: Did she have any episodes like this when you were with her?

Hope: Not this extreme.

Roman: Okay. All right, tell you what -- let's get her in the room. I need to take care of paperwork and take care of this. You guys all right?

Bo: Yeah, yeah, we're good.

Hope: Yeah, we'll be right here if you need us.

Roman: Okay, thanks.

Bo: What the hell's up...

Hope: I don't know.

Bo: Victor.

Hope: Victor.

Victor: Steve told me I could find you here. What were you two thinking? Look, the next time you go up against the mob, let me help, all right?

Bo: Right, next time. Right now, we're concerned about Chelsea.

Victor: The last I heard, her condition was improving.

Bo: Yeah, well, apparently there's been some damage.

Victor: Chelsea?

Chelsea: Hey, Grandpa.

Victor: Daniel, is my granddaughter getting better?

Steve: To Maxwell. We'll never be able to thank you enough, man.

Max: You don't have to thank me. I would have done anything for her.

Stephanie: You're always so brave.

Max: Mnh-mnh. Enough about me. I mean, what happened to you guys, I mean...

Kayla: I just want to try to put it behind us.

Steve: We can't exactly let our guard down just yet.

Stephanie: What do you mean?

Steve: Ava's father's still around.

Sami: Who let you in, Nicole?

Nicole: Ooh, that Rolf is quite the charmer.

Sami: What kind of makeup are you using to cover that bruise? Wow, it looks so good. We're in the middle of something. Could you please just get lost?

Nicole: Not until I confer with my lawyer.

Sami: And you wondered why I didn't want you to take her as a client.

Nicole: There seems to be a development in my divorce, could be a problem.

Sami: For you, one could only hope.

Nicole: Could you get her to shut up?

Sami: Hardly.

E.J.: [Clears throat] Ladies. So, what's going on?

Nicole: In a nutshell, Victor has kicked me out of the house, and so...I have spilled a big, juicy secret he's been keeping.

Sami: Really? What's the secret?

Nicole: Never mind. It's obvious I'm not welcome here.

Sami: All right, wait. Come on. Tell us what the secret is.

Nicole: Only if you fix me a dry martini straight up with a twist.

Sami: You'll get your drink when you tell me what Victor's been hiding from everyone.

Nicole: Okay. Brady Black is alive and well and living in Switzerland, recovering from a nasty drug addiction.

Chloe: Hi.

Abe: Chloe. Philip. So, what brings you down here?

Chloe: I need you to help me get my passport back. I want to leave for Europe right away.

Abe: Well, don't you think the Austrian Consulate would have something to say about that?

Philip: Not when they hear what happened. Chloe.

Chloe: I want to press charges against Victor.

Stephanie: You think Ava's father's gonna come after us?

Steve: No, baby. I don't think that. I just want us to be cautious, that's all.

Stephanie: So what should we do?

Steve: We let the police handle it. They've already arrested a good chunk of his family.

Max: I'm sure the FBI would want to take a look, too, right?

Steve: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure they'll be interested in what some of those thugs have to say. Listen, we're all gonna be fine. I didn't mean to worry you, sweetheart. I'm just trying to keep us all safe.

Stephanie: You always have.

Steve: So, what's our number-one job right now, baby girl? Take care of your mama and the newest member of the Johnson family.

Victor: Are you in pain, sweetheart?

Chelsea: No, I'm just a little weak.

Victor: Daniel, tell me what's going on with my granddaughter. Bo says there's been some damage.

Daniel: Scarring, yes, caused by the infection.

Chelsea: Scarring? Where?

Daniel: Mainly the pelvic area. Fallopian tubes were affected.

Chelsea: So, what does that mean exactly?

Daniel: I'm sorry, Chelsea, but as a result of your infection... you'll never be able to have children.

Abe: We agree to drop the pending charges...

Roman: If you finger John Black for the graft.

John: You played God with my son. That's another mistake, Mr. Kiriakis.

Lexie: Are you saying that you are becoming emotionally involved with Chelsea?
