Daniel: He's not doing well right now, so he's a little on edge. Why don't you give him to Dr. Burrows? Thank you.
Chelsea: Hi. What? What is it? What are you reading?
Daniel: Well, I'm looking at your blood analysis and CT scan.
Daniel: Your trypsinogen test and amylose activities.
Chelsea: I don't even know what that is. What does that mean? Is it bad?
Daniel: Well, um...I'll tell you what it means.
Philip: It means nobody can touch us. No, I want to keep our buyers in the dark about this. What they don't know isn't gonna hurt them. Mm-hmm. No, that's not the way it works. We own them. [Sighs] Now listen -- I gave you this job because I thought you could get it done with the least amount of difficulty. Okay, then. Let me know. Damn. You clean up nice.
Chloe: You say that like it's a miracle.
Philip: Not at all. You're a beautiful woman. You don't need me to tell you that. I'm just guessing by the outfit you're not gonna be lounging around the house eating Bonbons today.
Chloe: No, I wouldn't want to get any chocolate on my dress.
Philip: You gonna tell me where you're going?
Chloe: I have an audition.
Steve: Where do you think you're going?
Bo: Come on.
Lexie: Where do you think you're going?
Bo: To find Hope.
Ava: Call him. This is not a request, Kayla. Call Patch.
Chelsea: Yes, please tell me.
Daniel: This is not what we expected. I thought we'd be able to keep you here, but it looks like... we're gonna have to move you.
Chelsea: Move me? To where, I.C.U.? I thought I was going home today. What's wrong with me?
Daniel: I'm not the one that should break this to you.
Chelsea: You're my doctor. You have to tell me. What's wrong? You can't do that. You tell me something's wrong, you have to tell me what it is.
All: You're going home!
Lexie: You are not going anywhere.
Bo: Yes, I am.
Lexie: Don't act like we've never discussed post-op recovery, Bo. You are not leaving this hospital. You're not leaving this room. I don't even want you out of this bed.
Bo: I don't know where Hope is. I got to get to her.
Lexie: What you just went through isn't to be taken lightly. It was major surgery, Bo. We weren't always certain you were going to make it. We need to monitor you to make sure there are no rejection complications. Let Hope come here to see you.
Bo: I don't know where she is.
Lexie: She's probably home sleeping. Look, I'm sorry, but you're not leaving here. It's not like we just took your tonsils out.
Bo: Come on, I'm fine.
Lexie: That surgery was highly experimental. Now, even though we managed to get you through it without losing you, there's no way of telling if it was a success without sitting and waiting, which I know is tough for you, but this is the most critical time right now, Bo. So as Chief of Staff, I am telling you to get your butt back in that bed before I jab a needle full of sedative's into it.
Bo: Okay. But someone's got to find Hope and tell me that she's okay.
Steve: Well...I'm waiting.
Kayla: Um...I was on my way to the hospital to see Bo.
Steve: No, you're not gonna do that. You're gonna get back in that bedroom, and if you don't, I'm gonna carry you in there myself. [Cellphone rings] Hello?
Hope: Hello, darling. It's Kayla.
Stephanie: Aren't you excited?
Max: Yeah, he's cutting you loose.
Chelsea: You freaked me out.
Daniel: Well, that should make going home that much sweeter.
Stephanie: So, they brought you in to work on Bo and do this operation, correct?
Daniel: I was -- I was in the neighborhood.
Stephanie: Well, now that everything's done, are you gonna be sticking around?
Daniel: You know, I don't know. The hospital board made me an offer. Place seems pretty legit, so...
Chelsea: So you're staying.
Daniel: Well, I'm here right now. Tomorrow...can't say. So, we should get out of here and let her get dressed.
Stephanie: Oh, he is so... sweet.
Max: Nice job.
Daniel: You're the one who decorated the chair.
Max: No, I meant the operation.
Daniel: Any monkey could have done that.
Max: Yeah, actually, I heard. There were like only three or four monkeys in the whole world that could have done that transplant surgery.
Daniel: Hey, this is not a done deal by any stretch. Chelsea's father's got a long way to go before we start with the high fives.
Max: Right. But you seem to be getting quite the rep after all you've done as the miracle worker.
Philip: What's the audition for?
Chloe: Well, Leda Frome was touring with the Desconso Opera Company, and what do you know? She got pregnant.
Philip: Huh. What part?
Chloe: Venus in "Tannhauser." I'd be perfect, right?
Philip: I don't know. That's Wagner, right?
Chloe: Yes, it is, and, yes, I would be. Thank you very much.
Philip: How soon do they need somebody?
Chloe: Well, I'm sure that Leda wants to get off her feet as soon as she can, so we'd have to start rehearsals right away.
Philip: Sounds like you already got the part.
Chloe: Philip, I was born for this part.
Philip: I just want to make sure you're okay with whatever happens. There are no sure things.
Chloe: What can happen? The director is Jean Carlo Masa. I've known him for years, and I've worked with him twice. He's a really great guy. And he loves me.
Philip: Well, then, I guess I don't even need to wish you good luck.
Chloe: Just save the good luck for down the road when I might actually need it.
Philip: Okay. Well, say hi to Jean Carlos for me.
Chloe: I will.
Steve: I'm sorry. I think you got the wrong number.
Hope: Steve, knock it off. It's me. It's Kayla. I'm standing here with your friend...Ava.
Steve: Sorry, we got a bad connection. I, um...
Hope: Can you hear me now? How's this?
Steve: Yeah, I can hear you now.
Hope: Darling...I'm really sorry about what happened earlier.
Steve: I'm sorry if I upset you.
Hope: No. No, it wasn't that at all. Ava would...like me to stay with her for a while...until you get your priorities straight.
Steve: She's there?
Hope: Yes. She'd like to meet up with you and have a little chat.
Steve: Okay. Where are you? I'll come right over.
Hope: I'm not really su--
Ava: You know what, Patch? No, it's not gonna work like that. It's not that I don't trust you, but, really, why should I?
Steve: You don't need to do this.
Ava: Yeah, you know what? And you didn't need to run out on me. You know what? I've got your wife standing right here, and if you do anything stupid, it's gonna put me in a really bad mood, and you know how I get.
Steve: Just take it easy. Everything is good.
Ava: No, everything is not good! You know what? And poor Kayla here is gonna have to deal with my nastiness if I do get in a bad mood. But don't worry. On second thought, you should worry. You should worry a lot. You better keep this conversation to yourself. I will talk to you later.
Kayla: Who was that?
Daniel: You decent?
Chelsea: Yep, you can come in.
Daniel: I signed your release papers, and I got to get to my last patient.
Chelsea: Thank you so much for everything.
Daniel: Um...well, I was just, uh, doing my thing. Bye.
Daniel: Bye-bye now.
Stephanie: Put your eyes back in your head.
Chelsea: Oh, he saved my Dad's life.
Chelsea: Do you guys mind wheeling me to go say goodbye to my Dad before I leave? I'd appreciate that.
Stephanie: Whenever you're ready.
Chelsea: Thank you. [Grunts]
Kayla: So, who were you talking to?
Steve: It's a long story.
Kayla: Well, since you won't let me leave this place, I got the time. Who was it?
Steve: I've been wanting to tell you about this...but you've been in a fragile state and I didn't want to upset you.
Kayla: Well, I'm okay now.
Steve: Right. When we were in Ireland --
Kayla: Oh. Oh.
Kayla: It's okay.
Steve: No, no, no.
Lexie: What did I tell you about getting out of bed? You're not gonna do anyone any good lying on the floor bleeding internally, Bo.
Bo: I got to find my wife. She's not answering my calls. No one knows where she is. Something is wrong, Lexie.
Lexie: So what are you planning on doing, jogging around town looking for her?
Bo: If that's what it takes.
Lexie: You're gonna get back in this bed. Let us find Hope.
Bo: Well, when was the last time you saw her?
Lexie: Earlier today.
Bo: I got to call Roman.
Lexie: Abe said that Roman's out of town on a case.
Bo: Well, let's get Abe here, then.
Bo: Now, please.
Lexie: All right, but you stay put. Where's the pain?
Bo: I think it's the incision. Where's Abe?
Lexie: He's on his way.
Lexie: Did you try to get out of bed again?
Bo: No. Lexie, I can't just sit around here and do nothing.
Lexie: Yes, you can. Goodness, you've pulled a stitch. You've got stitches inside of you, too. Those aren't going to be as easy to sew up if you've pulled one. Damn it. Bo, this is very serious. Chelsea's pancreas isn't going to graft if you keep this up. I think we should open you back up and check.
Bo: No, no, no, I'm okay. I'll be good. We just got to find Hope.
Lexie: Okay, tell me if this hurts.
Bo: No, it's okay.
Lexie: How about here?
Bo: Where is Abe?
Bo: Ohh! Yeah, that -- that hurt.
Lexie: Okay, all right. That's away from the pancreas. That's probably from where Dr. Jonas cut the muscle. I'd give you something to relax, but I want to keep an eye on the pain and make sure it doesn't get any worse.
Abe: Hey, buddy. I'm right here.
Bo: You got to put an A.P.B. out on Hope.
Abe: Hope? She's missing?
Lexie: I've called around. No one's seen her since she left earlier today.
Bo: I'd help you look for her, but your wife won't let me out of bed.
Abe: Well, yeah, I'll get some of my people right on it.
Bo: Okay, and just call me as soon as you know anything.
Bo: But don't tell Chelsea or the rest of the family. I don't want them worrying just in case I'M...going overboard or something.
Abe: Okay. You take care of yourself, and listen to your doctor. Hey, uh, Lex?
Abe: Can I talk to you a minute?
Lexie: Sure. What is it, honey?
Abe: I wanted to go to dinner and have some alone time, but with my having to be at the station, we can't do it. And I want to do it soon.
Lexie: We will. I'm sure of it.
Lexie: I need to stay here a little while longer anyway.
Chelsea: Excuse me, Dr. Carver?
Chelsea: Thank you. Um, how's my Dad?
Chelsea: Well, of course, but I meant how is he physically?
Lexie: Mm, he pulled a stitch.
Chelsea: How did he do that?
Lexie: Trying to do too much too soon. Be easy on him in there, will you?
Stephanie: I'll hold her back if she gets too huggy.
Stephanie: Come on.
Chelsea: Thank you.
Max: What if I popped a wheelie right now?
Chelsea: I'd kill you.
Stephanie: We brought you a really festive visitor.
Chelsea: Lexie said that you pulled a stitch. Were you trying to get out of bed?
Bo: No, I was doing too many calisthenics. So, how you feeling?
Chelsea: Well enough to go home.
Bo: Really? They're springing ya, are they?
Chelsea: Yeah. I just wanted to come and say goodbye before I went home.
Stephanie: They want someone to take care of her.
Bo: Oh, well, that's not gonna happen over at the sorority house.
Chelsea: I know. Those girls are busy all the time. Besides, I wouldn't really want to stick them with the responsibility, if you know what I'm saying.
Stephanie: I don't mind, Chelse.
Chelsea: I know, but I mean, you have your own life, and things are busy for you right now. My Mom's gone, so...where do I go?
Ava: Do you think Patch is a nice guy? Because he can come across as a really nice guy when he wants to. But he's also got that dark side. Do you know about that? Oh, of course you do because you're married to him. He didn't leave you. No, he left me. And we had a really, really good thing. We were in love. Is he...in love with you? Really in love? You know [Chuckles] No, of course -- of course he's not. [Laughs] No, no, the question I should be asking you is do you think that he's in love with you? Really in love?
Hope: Is that a question you really want me to answer?
Ava: Well, you know what? It doesn't make any difference because if he is in love with you, I feel like hurting him, and if he isn't in love with you, I feel like hurting him because he's staying with you. He needs to feel that hurt and that pain that I went through, because it is such a deep hurt inside your heart. It is like...you want to just give up on everything.
Hope: And you still feel it.
Ava: Yeah, well, wouldn't you? Wouldn't you if he left you like that?
Hope: Do you want me to answer that one?
Hope: Do you want to hurt me, too?
Ava: No. No. No, 'cause -- I don't really have anything against you. I mean, you did marry the man that I was supposed to, but you didn't know that, right?
Hope: No, of course not.
Ava: No, of course not. Yeah. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry that I'm gonna have to put you through that hurt and the heartache that I went through, but it just cannot be helped.
Hope: That's it? [Chuckles] That's it? It can't be helped?
Ava: Kayla, you may be an innocent in all of this. You may be, but I was. I was, and it doesn't keep you safe. It's not some kind of protective blanket you can --
Hope: I know you're innocent. And d I am so sorry. What Steve did to you... was awful.
Ava: You're trying to work me. And like I told your husband, I am not stupid.
Hope: I never said you were. Obviously, you're not.
Ava: Listen to me -- Patch is just gonna have to hurt a little bit before we get back together. Do you want your sandwich?
Kayla: Ohh. Oh, oh. Oh, no, I'm okay. I'm okay.
Kayla: Ohh. Ohh.
Steve: I'll get the doctor on the phone. It's gonna be okay. Okay?
Steve: Hey, Dr. Elman. This is Steve Johnson, Kayla Johnson's husband. Yeah, she's cramping up really bad. I want to bring her in. Really? You can do that for us? Okay, that would be great. Wait, you know where we're living? Good, okay. All right, I'll tell her. Okay, she said she's on her way. She wants you to lie down. Come on, let's go in the bedroom.
Kayla: Okay. I got it.
Steve: No, no, let me help you, baby. You don't got it. She's gonna be here in just a couple of minutes. She's in the neighborhood.
Steve: Hang on, Sweetness.
Kayla: Okay. I got it, okay, okay.
Philip: I don't want excuses. I want results. I've got to go. Do you want to talk about it?
Chloe: I nailed it. It was perfect. I couldn't have been more on.
Chloe: They didn't want me.
Chloe: They found out about my somewhat notorious if untrue reputation in Austria. Apparently after I left, the gossip papers had a field day with the cops' suspicions of me about Brady's disappearance. Now I just have to live with everyone thinking I had something to do with it.
Philip: But you didn't. And sooner or later, we're gonna find out what happened to him.
Chloe: Well, please, God, let it be sooner.
Philip: Listen, my Father has all of his guys scouring Austria, probably all of Europe. If they can't find him, no one will, not even Interpol.
Chloe: Interpol? It's worthless. They think I had something to do with it. Everyone does.
Philip: Hey, you know I don't.
Steve: Thanks for coming.
Dr. Elman: I wouldn't want her driving to the hospital if it's not necessary. How's she doing?
Steve: She's cramping pretty bad. She's in here.
Dr. Elman: In the bedroom?
Steve: Listen, I'll be out here if you need anything. Dr. Elman's here, Sweetness. [Clears throat] Hello. Yeah, listen, um, I just got a call, and the caller I.D. said it was a restricted number. Is there any way you can tell me what the number is or where it came from? No, no. Listen, I don't have that kind of time.
Bo: I'd invite you to stay with us, but Hope's kind of got her hands full right now.
Chelsea: I agree. I mean, she's gonna want to spend as much time with you as she can. Plus, she has the baby.
Max: Well, why don't you stay with me and Ma? I mean, I know she misses you, and it'd get her mind off Pop. You know, she tries not to show it, but I know how much she misses him, so it'd be good for both you guys.
Bo: I don't know if that's such a good idea. You know, Ma's got a lot of extra work now that Pop's gone. Hey, you know what? I have a better idea. Hey, Max, could you grab my phone for me please?
Ava: Ooh, you were really hungry.
Hope: Mm, haven't eaten since this morning.
Ava: Do you want something else?
Hope: I couldn't possibly.
Ava: You see? I'm not such an ogre. Can't you see why Patch was in love with me?
Hope: Of course I can. You're sweet. You're thoughtful. You're smart and obviously very beautiful.
Ava: Oh. You're patronizing me again.
Hope: No, I'm not. Maybe. But what are my options?
Ava: Well, you know what? I can see why he loves you, too. Because you're sweet and thoughtful and smart and beautiful, too.
Hope: Thank you. And thank you for the sandwich. And thank you for not tying me up or torturing me.
Ava: [Laughs] You got a good sense of humor. You know what? Patch likes that in women. God, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I'm gonna have to just take him from you.
Hope: What are you and Steve gonna do once you get back together?
Ava: Don't you worry about that.
Hope: Okay. How did you two meet?
Ava: Really? God, it was -- it was so sweet. We were both hailing a cab at the same time. And Patch got in there first and then he noticed me and he asked me where am I going, right? And we ended up -- we were going in the same direction, so he just said, "why don't we share a ride?" So we did, and I got in, and we drove across town, and we talked the entire time. And then he asked me if I wanted to grab a coffee, so we did. And...God, he had me by the end of that first latte. He was so mysterious and so strong.
Hope: Almost love at first sight.
Ava: Mm, yeah, almost.
Hope: Tell me more.
Ava: Well...we started seeing each other, and then I brought him home to meet my Father.
Hope: Did he like him?
Ava: They're a lot alike.
Hope: So he liked him.
Ava: Maybe too much alike. [Chuckles] He didn't really trust Patch, but he gave him a job in our family business. Probably because he loves me.
Hope: What does your father do for a living?
Ava: He does a lot of different things. He's just diversified.
Hope: How long were you and Steve together -- I'm sorry, Patch?
Ava: Oh, no. Um...it was almost two years. You know, we were gonna get married. Yeah. God, I wanted to have a rose and an orchid arch and a strawberry-filled cake and a big orchestra and, oh, the Sami Han band. Do you know them?
Hope: No. Are they any good?
Ava: Oh, they're Daddy's favorite, and, yeah, they're really, really good.
Hope: Tell me more about the wedding.
Ava: Oh. I wanted to have twinkling lights all through the hedges of our backyard -- we've got a big backyard -- and a big -- a big, beautiful gazebo and a platform with lights all around it and underneath it, so when we stood there, we'd be like angels -- angels holding hands and then we would just -- we'd gaze at each other.
Hope: And your father was gonna pay for all this?
Ava: No. No, Daddy didn't want me to marry Patch, so...we ran away.
Hope: To get married.
Ava: Yeah. Yeah, we found this preacher out in the middle of the desert, and we just asked him to marry us. And you know what he had to do? He had to go all the way down the street and he asked these two old people to be our witness. And then...I was standing there in that church with the preacher and the two old people...
Hope: You didn't get married.
Ava: Obviously not. You know what? I don't really want to talk about this anymore. Why don't we just talk about something pleasant?
Hope: What could be more pleasant than talking about the true love of your life?
Ava: You know, sometimes I hate him!
Hope: And with good reason.
Ava: You're trying to patronize me again.
Hope: What happened after he left?
Ava: I went home. And I cried and I hit things. And then I got sick.
Abe: Oh, man, this is tough.
Lexie: Yeah. Bo is understandably not taking it well.
Abe: Well, Hope is missing. She hasn't been gone long enough for me to file a missing-person report or put out an A.P.B. You know, and that's not gonna mollify Bo.
Lexie: If you don't find Hope soon, I'm gonna have a hard time restraining Bo. He pulled a stitch trying to get out of bed.
Abe: I'm gonna make sure that my people are out there trying to find Hope, even if I have to do it unofficially. Look, sweetheart, I need you to take care of Detective Brady in there. I need him back on the job.
Lexie: All right. Um, I'll see you later.
Bo: Hey, man, it's Bo.
Philip: Bo, how are you feeling?
Bo: I have been better. Listen, I need a favor. Chelsea is being released from the hospital today. She needs a place to stay and someone to take care of her.
Philip: If you're asking if she can stay with us, of course. My Dad's not here right now, but I'm sure he'd say the same thing as me. That's what family's for. I'll tell you what -- I'll hire a nurse. She'll be in good hands.
Bo: Okay, thanks, man. Hey, you can stay at Victor's. Philip's hiring a nurse to take care of you. I'm sure you can hang out there until you feel well enough to go back to school.
Chelsea: Thank you very much.
Stephanie: We can take her.
Bo: I knew there was a reason you were here. Ohh, easy there.
Chelsea: I love you so much.
Bo: Enough to give me a chunk of your pancreas?
Bo: [Chuckles] Come here. Whoa, ow.
Chelsea: You okay?
Bo: Yeah, I just did too many sit-ups today. I'll be fine. I love you. And thanks again.
Chelsea: You are welcome again. We should let you get your rest. We'll scram.
Stephanie: We'll take care of her. Don't worry.
Bo: Hey, Max, nice chariot.
Max: Hey, thanks, man. I spent all day on this.
Bo: I bet you did.
Chelsea: It's embarrassing.
Max: Probably the pinwheels.
Stephanie: Get better.
Steve: It's Steve. I need to talk to you about Hope.
Bo: You know where she is?
Steve: I think I do.
Hope: What do you mean you got sick?
Ava: I don't want to talk about me anymore. You were the one that married Patch, so tell me, what was it like?
Bo: Where is she?
Steve: I'm not exactly sure.
Bo: You just said you knew where -- is she hurt?
Steve: No, no, she sounded okay.
Bo: So you talked to her?
Bo: Tell me where she is.
Steve: I can't just yet.
Bo: This is Hope we're talking about.
Steve: Listen, man, you got to trust me. Now, if you just give me some time to sort things out...
Bo: I do tr-- look, if she's in some kind of trouble, I'm getting the P.D. involved in this. I've already talked to Abe.
Steve: No, that's not a good idea right now. Listen to me, buddy -- I'm gonna come down there and talk to you about this as soon as I can.
Bo: Steve. Steve. Steve, can you hear me?
Steve: Bo? Bo?
Chelsea: Watch the people.
Stephanie: The Kiriakis mansion with a full-time nurse -- that's awesome.
Max: I've always wanted a full-time nurse.
Daniel: Hey, I thought you guys were going home.
Chelsea: Oh, we decided to cruise the halls for a bit.
Daniel: Well, I'd go cruising with you, but Lexie actually gave me some more work to do. So maybe another time.
Dr. Elman: Well, this is as far as we're gonna go.
Steve: Are you supposed to be walking? Why is she walking?
Dr. Elman: I've given her permission to walk a triangle from the bed to the couch to the bathroom. Otherwise, feet up at all times, ma'am.
Steve: Here, baby, sit down. Sit down.
Kayla: Okay. Thank you.
Steve: So, is everything all right?
Dr. Elman: Well, she over-exerted herself and started cramping, which is a good sign you shouldn't be doing any walking. I gave her a little something for that that may make her drowsy.
Steve: Okay, I'll make sure she stays right here, even if I have to get an extra set of eyes to watch her.
Kayla: Oh, can't wait. Thank you. I'll be good, I promise.
Dr. Elman: Okay, you call me anytime.
Kayla: I will. Thanks again.
Steve: Thanks for the house call.
Dr. Elman: Of course.
Ava: I want to know what it's like to be married to Patch. I want to know everything, because he should have been married to me. I should have been his wife.
Hope: I don't want you to use anything I say against me or Steve.
Ava: I gave you a sandwich! Now, I want to hear everything there is to know about your life with him!
Hope: I'll tell you.
Ava: Then start now.
Hope: You'll let me make one more phone call.
Stephanie: Hey, Dad.
Steve: Stephanie, I need you to come home.
Stephanie: Okay, well, we just have to bring Chelsea to the Kiriakis mansion and then I'll be right home.
Steve: No, I need you to come home right now.
Abe: Bo, what are you doing?
Bo: I need to get Steve back on the phone.
Abe: You just lie back, man. You take some rest.
Bo: I can't right now.
Abe: You can't keep getting yourself all worked up. Now, we will find Hope.
Steve: Come on, Bo, pick up.
Abe: Bo...the good news is I have a call in to dispatch. I've got officers out looking for Hope right now. They're our friends. They're doing this on their own time, so don't worry. We'll find her.
Ava: Who are you gonna call? The cops? Well, they're not gonna find you because we're all alone. You're not gonna have your happy ending. Only me and Patch. Because we're gonna be together forever.
Marlena: Why do you suddenly care what I think of you?
Stephanie: I just wish you'd tell me what's going on. Does it have to do with Ava or not?
Steve: I don't have time to get into it right now.
Ava: They all blame Patch for what happened to me. And they would all like to see him dead.
