Daniel: Well, if we could do the surgery right now, I would say, uh...maybe.

Hope: But if we have to wait?

Daniel: You might want to say goodbye.

Hope: No, I...I can't.

Daniel: I'm sorry, but I shoot from the hip, so I'm gonna be straight up. Bo may not have much time left. We're talking about maybe just a few hours. Look, I know this is a rotten break, but if you don't want any regrets or anything left unsaid between the two of you, you should say it now.

[Door opens]

Shawn D.: Hey, Mom, what's going on?

Daniel: Your father's unconscious. I don't believe he's gonna have much time left. You might want to say goodbye.

Shawn D.: What?

Victor: Must be something else that can be done.

Daniel: Look, I understand you all love him very much.

Hope: Yes. Yes, we do. I promised him he was gonna make it. Birthdays, Christmas -- he was gonna be there for all of them, and I would do anything to keep that promise. You're the only person who can help me keep it, Doctor. So, please, it's all up to you.

Daniel: All right, I will see what I can do. But if Chelsea's system does not purge that alcohol soon enough to operate, there is no way...

Hope: We're not gonna lose him, Shawn.

Daniel: All right, ladies, we have got to do something. What, I do not have a clue, but something. We have got to buy a little time.

Stephanie: You worked all morning at the docks. You should go home and get some rest.

Max: It's not that. I just lost my father, and I don't know what I'd do if I lost my brother, too.

Stephanie: This whole thing has been so hard on everyone. Last night, I woke up and I could hear my mom crying. With her being pregnant and everything... look, if you need to take a breather, no one could blame you.

Max: No, no breathers. None of the Brady's ever made me feel like I was any less than one of them. I was always a part of the family, so I just feel like I have to go that extra mile for them.

Stephanie: You are a great son, brother, everything. No one expects you to be perfect.

Max: I'm not trying to be. I just -- I can never forget that they pretty much saved my life.

Stephanie: Well, if I recall, you're a lifesaver, too.

Max: Who did I ever save?

Stephanie: Me.

Max: You.

Stephanie: During that whole ford thing. You were there for me. You are amazing, Max Brady. And you make your family proud, and you make me proud. Come here.

Chelsea: Grandma.

Kate: Yes, Baby. I'm here.

Chelsea: I'm sorry that -- I'm sorry that I didn't listen to you before about the drinking.

Kate: That's okay. It looks like you got your stubbornness from me, huh?

Chelsea: It doesn't always come in handy, I guess.

Kate: No. No, it doesn't. I cannot tell you the number of times I have gotten in trouble because of it. We shouldn't dwell on that, should we? You need to focus on feeling better so you can save your dad.

Chelsea: I should already be in the operating room.

Kate: Well, you're not. You're here. Maybe you can use this time to think things through just a little bit.

Chelsea: Like what? What is there to think about?

Kate: Well...this is a very dangerous operation, you know? There are a million things that could go wrong. And half a million of them could happen to you. You could die, Baby. And I'm worried. I'm -- even if you make it through the surgery, there could be complications.

Chelsea: I know all that, but I want to do this. I have to do this.

Kate: You need to do it for your dad because you love him. I know that. And because you want his approval?

Chelsea: No, that's -- that's not what this is about. You know what? Do you think that you could go and get me some water?

Kate: Okay. Okay. You are a very brave girl. Don't let anyone ever tell you anything differently. Okay?

Steve: Hey.

Marlena: John? What are you doing here? And why are you all by yourself?

John: Not really part of the "in" crowd. But I'm supposed to be close to everyone here, related to half of them.

Marlena: And so you're here. Looky there. Sometimes you just do the right thing.

John: And sometimes I don't. Like on the pier when I pointed out Kiriakis' emotional weakness.

Marlena: I can't think about that right now.

John: Neither can I.

Marlena: Am I hearing a little bit of concern for Bo in your voice?

John: Yes. As a fellow human being who can identify with being hooked up to a plethora of machines monitoring your every breath.

Marlena: And that's all?

John: Don't push it, Blondie.

Marlena: I have to. Pushing it's what I do. And one of these days, I'm gonna push you so hard, the real John will break through that fake veneer of yours.

John: It's not a veneer. This is me through and through.

Marlena: Yeah, well, on that, you and I disagree.

Daniel: What? What? What haven't I thought of? All right, could you -- I don't need those people hanging out in the hall. Could you please get rid of them? Thank you.

Steve: What's happening?

Lexie: Roman, I'm glad you're here.

Roman: Lexie, how is he?

Lexie: Not good. Listen, I understand everyone wanting to be together, close by, but it makes our job much harder with them watching our every move.

Roman: All right. All right, I'll take care of it. All right, uh, listen up, everybody. Uh, Lexie tells me they could use a little space, so why don't we all go down to the O.R. waiting area, okay? Lexie and Kayla -- they'll let us know what's going on as soon as anything changes. I think we should do that right now, folks. Let's go.

Lexie: Thank you.

Roman: Yeah. Okay. Keep me in touch. Let me know what's going on.

Lexie: Will do.

Stephanie: You know they'll call if there's any news.

Max: Yeah, but I can't not be here.

Stephanie: I know.

Max: Look, you don't need to be here, though. Why don't you go get some rest, and I'll call you if there's any news?

Stephanie: No way.

Kate: Max, Stephanie, I'm glad you're here.

Max: Is it Bo?

Kate: Yes, but his condition is the same, but the good news is they found a donor.

Stephanie: They did?

Max: Who?

Kate: It's Chelsea.

Stephanie: Chelsea?

Kate: Yeah.

Stephanie: Uh, I'm sorry. I guess that makes sense. I just -- I assumed it would be Shawn.

Max: No, but I'm sure she's pretty stoked, right? I know she really wanted to do this.

Kate: She did, yes.

Max: Uh, you don't sound so excited. Is there a problem?

Kate: Well, you know Chelsea. She was feeling stressed, so she decided to drown her sorrows.

Stephanie: She got drunk?

Kate: Yeah. Yeah, I found her at Cheatin'' Heart, and she was a mess.

Max: That sounds about right.

Kate: Hey, it's not her fault. She didn't know she was a match. But the point is they can't do the operation until the alcohol is out of her system, and by the time they do that...

Max: It could be too late.

Kate: Yeah. And she's feeling very guilty.

Stephanie: Poor Chelsea.

Daniel: Hey. I know this is difficult, but I really have to ask you to leave.

Hope: I'd rather stay.

Kayla: Don't you think it would be better if she stayed here?

Daniel: Just for a few minutes. Please.

Hope: Kay, if something happens...

Kayla: I will be right there to get you. I promise. You better have a damn good reason for doing that.

Daniel: I don't. I just didn't want her to hear this.

Lexie: To hear what?

Daniel: I've got nothing.

Kayla: Well, that pretty much describes what we've been doing so far. So why keep her in the dark?

Daniel: Because I am the doctor. I want to retest a few things. And I will need your undivided focus. Now, Kayla, you showed me some journal, right, about a pancreatic study by these guys.

Kayla: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember.

Daniel: You get that and you meet me and Lexie in the lab. Because there is something that I missed. Are you ready?

Lexie: Yeah.

Daniel: Let's let her rip.

Caroline: Is everything okay?

Victor: How's my son?

Hope: Nothing's changed. Dr. Jonas just seemed to need a little space.

Caroline: Do you think they can save him?

Hope: God, I hope so.

Philip: Hey. I'm sorry for your loss. Your father. What he did for Bo on that plane was unbelievable.

Roman: Well, he would have done anything for any of his kids. That's what made him such a good man.

Philip: When you put it that way, it sounds so simple.

Roman: For him, it was.

Philip: You know, Bo and I, even though we're half brothers, it never really felt like that. I think that's because we were raised so differently.

Roman: Can't argue with that.

Philip: Anyway, I told him I want us to be more like a family.

Roman: Really? Shawn's okay with that?

Philip: Shawn and I have gotten past what happened with Belle. I hope the rest of the Brady family can be so generous. So, what do you think of the new John?

Roman: Not a whole hell of a lot.

Philip: That makes two of us.

Belle: It's really good to see Dad here, isn't it?

Marlena: Yeah, I was, uh, kind of surprised. It's strange. Turns out he does care, just doesn't want anybody to know that.

Belle: Sounds like classic macho-man syndrome.

Marlena: Mm-hmm. I guess it is. And he's just obsessed with power.

Belle: I know. Sometimes he's the Dad I used to know and sometimes he's not.

John: My ears are burning. Are you talking about me?

Marlena: Sort of.

John: So, what do we do now? Just stand around here all day?

Marlena: We're open to suggestion. Do you have one?

John: Well, nothing you'd want to hear. And nothing I should suggest in front of Isabella.

Belle: Oh, my God, Dad.

Marlena: I know you think you can shock me, but I am very used to your stunts.

Belle: Yeah, well, I'm not. You may not remember me as your daughter, but you could at least make an effort to try and act like my father.

John: Sorry.

Stephanie: I can't believe Chelsea's gonna be her dad's donor.

Max: I still can't believe that she was drunk when she found out.

Stephanie: It was lousy timing. Knowing her, she's probably gonna feel guilty about it the rest of her life. [Footsteps approaching]

Kate: Well, I just tried to get Chelsea a glass of water, and the nurse tells me she's not supposed to have any. Hey, could you two come in with me and help cheer her up?

Stephanie: Yeah.

Kate: Come on. Where's my granddaughter? Did you take her to the O.R.?

Nurse: No, I was about to ask you where she was.

Kate: You just let her walk out of here? Why didn't you stop her? Never mind. Forget it. She can't have gotten too far.

Max: Let's tell everybody.

Kate: Roman. Roman.

Roman: What?

Kate: It's Chelsea. She's gone.

Lexie: I rechecked again the results of the ERCP and the C.A.T. scan. I can't find anything we missed.

Daniel: Because we are so damn good.

Lexie: Apparently not good enough.

Daniel: I re-evaluated the lipase and trypsin secretion levels -- not good.

Lexie: Isn't there anything we can do to jump-start the pancreatic activity?

Daniel: Not that we haven't already tried.

Kayla: Here's the study you mentioned. I haven't had a chance to look at it thoroughly yet.

Daniel: I'll look in a sec. Just another set of eyes.

Lexie: Let's see.

Daniel: I know we're in the impact zone, but there is always another wave, people.

Kayla: "Wave"?

Daniel: Don't get me wrong. Reef is brutal, but it is worth the ride.

Lexie: Hmm. Take a look at this.

Daniel: Let me see this.

Roman: What the hell do you mean Chelsea's gone?

Shawn D.: What? Chelsea's gone?

Belle: She wouldn't leave the hospital, would she?

Max: She disappeared from her cubicle. That's all we know.

Shawn D.: Weren't you with her, Kate?

Kate: I went to get her a glass of water. I ran in to Stephanie and Max. We went into her room, and she was gone.

Roman: I'll call hospital security.

Shawn D.: Chelsea is my sister and I love her dearly, but right when you start to count on her, she does something like this.

Max: She didn't do it on purpose.

Shawn D.: I will give her having a few drinks, fine. 'Cause God knows I've wanted to do the same the last few days, but disappearing?

Roman: Damn it.

Steve: What's going on?

Roman: Nothing good. Chelsea disappeared.

Steve: What?

Roman: Yeah, I was just talking to hospital security. They're locking the place down. Nobody believes she could have left the hospital yet.

Steve: Where could she have gone?

Roman: I don't know, but we need to find her fast.

Chelsea: [Sobbing] Daddy, I'm so sorry that I let you down.

Steve: Somebody's got to tell Hope.

Roman: Yeah. I'll do that.

Steve: All right, I'll get the kids together and start searching, cover all our bases.

Roman: Good idea. [Sighs]

Hope: Roman, what is it?

Roman: It's Chelsea. She disappeared from her cubicle.

Caroline: How could she?

Victor: Where could she have gone? And what's being done to find her?

Roman: Hospital security is on top of it, and Steve has the others on a search.

Caroline: Well, we'll go, too.

Roman: No, Ma, you stay right here, okay? Victor?

Victor: We'll stay here just in case Chelsea comes back.

Philip: I'll help the others search.

Roman: Okay.

Hope: Roman.

Roman: Look, she can't have gotten far. Kate only left her for a few minutes.

Hope: How could she do something like this?

Roman: I have no idea.

Hope: I'm gonna check on Bo.

Chelsea: I've been thinking a lot about that day...when you and Mom first told me that you were my parents. I wish... I wish a lot of things, but... mainly, I wish I would have acted differently. I'm sorry that I was a brat then. And I'm sorry that I still sometimes am. [Sighs] It's just... that day, I felt like everything I'd ever known was just...gone. And I wasn't Chelsea Benson anymore. But I guess I never really had been. I mean, don't get me wrong, because the Benson's were great and everything, but... you and Mom... I have the most amazing parents. And I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world. So, here's the deal -- you've been there for me no matter what, even when I didn't deserve it. You were always there putting up with me, so... this is my turn to do the same thing for you... for the person that I love more than anything in this world. Just please, please tell me that I'm not too late.

Marlena: Thank you for helping me look for Chelsea. I'm glad you're here.

John: So you can keep an eye on me?

Marlena: No. It's a comfort. I know you don't understand that. I'm not sure that you have to. Just having you nearby...lifts my spirits. It's like when we were together before.

John: We were that good, huh?

Marlena: We were -- we were better than you could even imagine. That's why it's so hard for me to see you do things that I know that my John would never do. Things like, oh, I don't know, declaring war on the Kiriakis family. Are you rethinking that?

John: I will do what it takes to gain control.

Marlena: Control of what?

John: Control of whatever. Blondie, I can see it in your eyes. Do you think I'm some sort of a dysfunctional control freak? Well, I'm not gonna deny that, but it beats the hell out of being a madman's pawn. Am I over-compensating? Who the hell are you to judge?

Philip: [Clears throat] Well...here we are again. Hope I'm not interrupting.

Marlena: Has anybody found Chelsea?

Philip: No. No, I came back here to find out if anyone had heard from her.

Chelsea: I know that if you could just hang on a little longer, we can beat this thing together. I'm not gonna lie and tell you that I'm not scared, because I am. But it's worth it. It's more than worth it if it saves you. We just -- we just need you to fight just a little harder, just until I'm ready. Okay?

Hope: I want to be so mad at her right now. But no matter what she does or how badly she behaves...you can always tell how much she loves her daddy.

Daniel: I can see that. Do you, um, do you believe in luck or fate?

Chelsea: I'm sorry. I just -- I just wanted to see my dad.

Hope: Honey, do you realize that everyone has been looking for you?

Chelsea: No. What is that? Did you find something that could save my dad?

Daniel: Save him? No. Free up a little time? I sure hope so. Your dad needs you, Chelsea. He really does. But I need you putting fluids through your body. Can we get her another blood screen, see how she's doing?

Lexie: Sure, I'll take care of it. Come on, Chelsea.

Chelsea: I love you.

Daniel: Give me a heads-up the second you hear anything.

Lexie: Of course. Come on, Sweetheart.

Chelsea: I'm sorry that I caused so much trouble.

Lexie: I know you are. I'm just glad we found you.

Chelsea: Yeah, well, next time, I'll leave a note.

Lexie: Next time, take your I.V. with you.

Chelsea: Right.

Lexie: Lie back. I'm going to take a sample of your blood and run it over to the lab.

Chelsea: Do you think that I'm gonna be ready in time for surgery?

Lexie: I certainly hope so. We have wasted so much time.

Daniel: Heart rate is a little strong, a little faster. Blood glucose levels -- they dropped slightly, which is encouraging.

Hope: Then it's working.

Daniel: For the time being.

Kayla: Would it really be so difficult for you to be a little more positive?

Daniel: Realism is a lot less disappointing in the long run.

Kayla: Well, realism's great, except when it's someone you love.

Philip: I've been here so much lately, I'm actually starting to enjoy the coffee.

Kate: Ooh. I stick with the tea. It's far less dangerous. So, have you been feeling all right since the plane crash?

Philip: You're looking at my leg, aren't you? I'm kidding. No, it's great, actually. Well, I was due for an upgrade, and this thing is state of the art. It's taking a little getting used to, but I like it.

Kate: You are so matter of fact about it.

Philip: Well, shouldn't I be?

Kate: No, you should be.

Lexie: Okay, we're done.

Chelsea: Good, 'cause needles really freak me out.

Lexie: You did good. I'm going to run this to the lab and test it. Don't go anywhere.

Chelsea: Consider me chained to this bed.

Lexie: Good girl.

Steve: Hey, Lexie. What's the prognosis?

Lexie: I'm running Chelsea's blood-alcohol level again. If we're lucky, it'll be clear.

Steve: And Bo?

Lexie: Kayla and Dr. Jonas are with him right now. Hopefully, they've managed to buy him a little more time.

Steve: Well, let's hope so.

Victor: Caroline told me that Kayla's pregnant. Congratulations.

Steve: Well, thanks. I feel lucky. I get to be around this time to watch my kid grow up.

Victor: Well, I'm sure you'll be a very good father.

Steve: Well, it's great to have a second chance.

Victor: I think second chances are very important.

Steve: It's too bad sometimes it's not always an option.

Victor: Yes, well, I hope it is for Bo.

Steve: So do I.

Bo: Will you stop looking at me like that? You're kind of creeping me out.

Kayla: Well, you must be feeling better.

Bo: I could use something to drink.

Kayla: We just gave you some medication to bide you some time. You can't have anything to eat or drink. I'm sorry. Do you have any idea how much trouble I'm gonna be in if you don't get well? I mean, I'm one of your doctors. Mom's gonna kick my butt.

Bo: You should be used to that by now.

Kayla: Yeah. But you're her baby. How could I forget? I mean, us girls were always supposed to keep an eye on you.

Bo: Right.

Kayla: Remember when you got that first motorcycle? You know, Mom blamed me for that. She thought because I had that boyfriend that had one that you got the idea from him.

Bo: I always wanted a motorcycle.

Kayla: Oh, come on. You thought that guy was cool. Remember he had those tattoos and everything? What was his name? Rick or Randy.

Bo: Roy.

Kayla: Roy. Remember him? You did think he was cool. You just have to get better. Come on.

Bo: I'm trying.

Kayla: Well, you need to try harder.

Stephanie: You're not naked, are you?

Chelsea: No. Come in.

Stephanie: Hi.

Chelsea: I'm glad you guys are here.

Stephanie: We're glad that you're here.

Chelsea: Yeah, I know. I know. I should have stayed in my cubicle. I didn't mean to worry everybody. I just wanted to go see my Dad.

Stephanie: Yeah.

Max: So, what happens now?

Chelsea: Um, well, Lexie is checking my blood-alcohol level again.

Max: I know we went through this. No boozing when you're about to give up an organ.

Chelsea: Yeah, except that it's a gland.

Max: Oh, right. My bad.

Stephanie: So, um, when do they think you'll be ready?

Chelsea: Well, let's see -- I had...we'll call it one too many screwdrivers, um...and now my body is purging all the alcohol and not in the normal way, so... after all that... I just hope that it's in time. Because if it's not --

Max: You didn't do this on purpose.

Chelsea: No. I'm just -- I'm just scared. I'm just scared that my Dad's not gonna make it through this, and...it might be my fault.

Stephanie: You remember when we thought that John's plane had crashed and we went to St. Luke's and prayed? It made us feel a whole lot better, so let's say a prayer for your dad. Max.

Max: All right, um... God, um...Chelsea needs you. And Bo does, too. And I know you're up there chilling with my Pop, and Mom has a direct line with you. But, um, you know, we just thought we'd put our two cents in there because we really, really need your help right now. Let them -- let them be okay.

Bo: Hey, Fancy Face.

Hope: Hi, handsome.

Bo: Yeah.

Hope: How's my husband doing? How are you feeling?

Daniel: Heart and respiratory are holding strong. Blood glucose level -- he's not bad.

Hope: Be right back, okay? Can I speak to you for a moment, Doctor? How's Chelsea?

Daniel: We should have the results of her blood-alcohol screening soon. And maybe, just maybe, we'll get some good news.

Hope: She's gonna come through. She would never let her father down.

John: This crowd's making me jumpy.

Marlena: Well, they're just worried about Bo.

John: Yeah, I got that. Maybe they could worry with a little less nervous energy.

Marlena: That's what people do when they're worried, when they're scared. You know, you and Bo were very close. In fact, the two of you shared a determination that everything should be right. Your version of what was wrong or right.

John: Is that so?

Marlena: Mm-hmm.

John: Hmm. Well, then, maybe I haven't changed as much as you think I have.

Nurse: I have to get you up to preop.

Chelsea: I'm sorry. You have to what? That must mean -- that must mean that my blood is clear.

Stephanie: You did it.

Max: Way to go.

Hope: Is it bad that he passed out again?

Daniel: No, no, no. It's just all the meds we've been giving him. Makes the Anesthesiologist's job that much easier, that's all. [Door opens]

Lexie: It's clear. Chelsea's blood is clear.

Daniel: Excellent. All right, get them to prep the O.R.

Hope: Thank God.

Daniel: Lexie, you call downstairs and you tell them to get Chelsea started in preop. Everyone who's on call for this, you get them here stat.

Lexie: It's taken care of.

Daniel: Then it is show time. Let's go.

Hope: I told you she was gonna come through. You're gonna make it, Brady. I know you are.

Caroline: If anybody can beat the odds, it's Bo and Chelsea.

Kate: Your courage is amazing.

Chelsea: I am scared as hell right now.

Hope: Your whole family needs you, so you fight. I love you, Brady.
