Hope: Good morning.

Kayla: Ah! Good morning, sleepyhead.

Hope: How's he doing? Any news on a donor?

Lexie: Shoot!

Daniel: Here, let me help you out.

Lexie: No, no, no, no. No. I got it!

Daniel: Maybe we just need to chill for a bit.

Lexie: No, there's no time to chill, thanks to you.

Daniel: What the hell does that mean, thanks to me?

Lexie: You could have suggested this procedure much earlier. As it is, by the time we find a donor, it may be too late.

Daniel: It may not matter.

Lexie: Don't you even suggest that. Bo is not going to die.

Daniel: Come on, Lexie. You're a doctor. At least be honest with yourself here. If whatever is affecting Bo's pancreas doesn't kill him first, this procedure very well might.

Marlena: Oh, my gosh. I think that should just about do it, don't you?

Dr. Berman: You know, provided we get enough money from the silent auction, I think we're well on our way to exceeding last year's total.

Marlena: Yeah. We're helping a lot of sick little children.

Dr. Berman: So, the next challenge is gonna be to get that new wing on the hospital. When do you think we ought to start with the fund-raising? Marlena?

Marlena: Oh. Miles, I'm so sorry. I was distracted.

Dr. Berman: It really is true. He's still alive.

Stephanie: Papa.

Steve: Hey. Thanks, baby. Your mom's in there with your Uncle Bo.

Stephanie: Yeah, I just saw her in the cafeteria. She said she was coming up here.

Steve: She say anything about how he's doing?

Stephanie: It doesn't look good.

Steve: [Sighs] Oh, God. What about a donor? Any news on that?

Stephanie: Not yet, but I'm sure they'll come up with something soon.

Steve: Yeah.

Stephanie: Are you looking for my guard? 'Cause I ditched him.

Steve: You what?

Nick: How's it going?

Max: Living the dream.

Nick: Well, it might not be fun, but you got off pretty easy.

Max: Yeah. I know. Could have been a lot worse, right? I know this is for a good cause, but it's not exactly my dream job.

Nick: At least the weather's nice. Look, I just came down to see, we're good, right?

Max: What, hmm? What do you mean?

Nick: The other day, with my notebook. It just seemed like you were trying to mess with me.

Max: Yeah, well, I needed something to write on, Nick.

Nick: You sure?

Max: Yeah.

Nick: 'Cause for a minute there it kind of seemed like you were trying to ruin my career.

Max: Now, why would I want to do that?

Nick: Because.

Max: Because you have a career? Because you actually have something going on for you, something good, huh? And I'm just...here.

Nick: Look, Max, all work has value. All work has dignity. I'm sorry.

Bo: Hey, sis.

Kayla: Hmm?

Bo: Whatcha doing?

Kayla: Just writing down your heart rate.

Bo: Well, it might go up here in a second.

Kayla: Why is that?

Bo: 'Cause I'm about to kiss my girlfriend.

Hope: Girlfriend.

Chelsea: Good, you're awake. Can I come in for a minute?

Hope: Of course. Hi, sweetheart.

Kayla: But just for a minute, all right? Your pop needs his rest.

Bo: Aw, sis, come on.

Chelsea: It's okay. I have to get to class anyway. Hi.

Bo: Hey.

Chelsea: How are you feeling?

Bo: Never better. How you doing, kid?

Chelsea: I'm okay. A little worried.

Bo: Don't be. Got the best doctors in the world working on this case.

Chelsea: I guess I should let you get your rest then before Aunt Kayla kicks me out. I'll come by a little later after class, okay?

Bo: Okay. Bye, kid.

Chelsea: Bye.

Hope: Bye, sweetheart.

Chelsea: Bye. [Door closes]

Bo: I'm, uh, glad I got to spend some time with her yesterday, with everyone.

Hope: Don't go there, okay?

Bo: I said goodbye. I needed to do that.

Hope: You know, it really sounds like you're giving up to me. And from where I sit right now, that is not an option.

Daniel: Remember how experimental this is.

Lexie: I know. It could kill Bo. It could even kill the donor, assuming we find one who's compatible. But at the rate his pancreas is failing -- damn it!

Daniel: You and Bo been friends long?

Lexie: Let's just say we haven't always gotten along, but we put all that behind us.

Daniel: Hey. Hey, hey, hey, girl. Come on now. You need to just breathe.

Lexie: [Sighs]

Daniel: Just breathe.

Lexie: Thanks. I just -- just can't imagine my life without Bo -- mine or Abe's.

Nick: Are you jealous of me?

Max: Look what you have going for you.

Nick: I mean, you know, I got a lot of things going for me, but you're Max Brady.

Max: Yeah, and?

Nick: I don't know. Chicks dig you. You were a race car driver.

Max: Yeah, see, that's the thing -- the key word is "were." I was a race car driver. I did have my own garage. And now... you know what? I'm happy to be helping my mom out at the pub 'cause it's the very least I could do for them for everything that she and my dad did for me. I don't know. I guess it's just for a little while, right?

Nick: Still, you got a lot on your shoulders.

Max: Yeah, I do. But this isn't exactly part of my 10-year plan.

Nick: Well, what is part of your 10-year plan?

Max: See, that's the thing. I really have no idea.

Steve: You ditched your guard?

Stephanie: Yes, and it really wasn't that hard.

Steve: Baby, that guy was there to protect you. [Cellphone rings] Oh. Yeah. Yeah, I know. She's standing right here next to me. No, I'm not kidding. And you're fired.

Stephanie: You fired the guy?

Steve: Well, you said he was easy to ditch. He's not a very good guard, is he?

Stephanie: True, but I told you, you don't have to worry about me. I can take care of myself.

Steve: Is that right?

Stephanie: Yep. Just...take care of Mom. She's the one who needs to be watched over, especially right now.

Steve: I know she does. I'll take care of her, baby. Don't you worry.

John: So, you're the physician who signed my death certificate.

Dr. Berman: Yeah, I'm afraid so.

Marlena: None of us know quite what happened, but somehow Stefano brought my husband back.

John: Sort of.

Dr. Berman: Because you don't remember everything, right?

John: About dying? No.

Dr. Berman: I followed strict procedure. I checked. I double-checked everything.

Marlena: Nobody blames you.

John: Speak for yourself.

Dr. Berman: I should be getting back to the hospital.

Marlena: Thank you for meeting with me.

Dr. Berman: Oh, it was my pleasure. Good to see you again. Bye.

John: May I introduce Mr. Paul Hollingsworth? He happens to be --

Marlena: Oh, I know who he is. By reputation.

John: We were discussing some of the DiMera operations.

Marlena: Is that the reason you were talking to Victor at the hospital?

John: Perhaps.

Marlena: What are you up to?

John: Would you like to join us for breakfast and find out?

Abe: Hello, doctor. Hi, sweetie.

Lexie: Hi, sweetheart.

Abe: Well, any change in Bo's condition?

Lexie: Well, he's stable for the moment. We don't expect that to last.

Abe: What about a donor?

Daniel: I'm still checking compatibility and matching, figuring out who might be the lucky donor.

Abe: Hmm. Modern medicine, right? It's amazing.

Daniel: [Exhales sharply] All right, you know, I'm gonna head to the cafeteria, get myself an energy drink. Want any grub or anything?

Lexie: No. No, thanks.

Abe: Take care.

Daniel: All right.

Abe: I can tell how stressed you are. I know this is important. Believe me, I know that. But maybe you should step away.

Lexie: You're saying I should take a break?

Abe: Close your eyes for five minutes. Just get a fresh perspective.

Lexie: No, I can't do that.

Abe: Sweetheart, you just came back to work. I know that. But you don't have to prove anything.

Lexie: I'm not trying to prove anything, Abe. I'm just trying to do my job, okay? And until it's done, I have to keep working.

Steve: I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna give you a pass. No guard.

Stephanie: That was too easy.

Steve: No, no, I trust you. And you say you can take care of yourself, I believe you.

Stephanie: Thank you.

Steve: But just expect a checkup call from me every five minutes.

Stephanie: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Steve: So, uh, how are you and Maxwell doing, anyway?

Stephanie: Things with Max are really, really good, I think. I'm actually gonna go surprise him right now.

Steve: Good. You tell him I said to keep his nose clean.

Stephanie: Whatever that means. Come here. Take care, Dad, okay? Let me know what's going on with Uncle Bo.

Steve: I will. Yeah. This is Steve Johnson. I need another guard for my daughter. I fired him. That's what happened. Listen, do you have someone who can stay on her, or don't you? Good. Get on it. [Sighs] I'm sorry, baby. Can't take any chances.

John: I have business to conduct with Mr. Hollingsworth. May I?

Marlena: I can't wait to hear what you have to say.

John: So, the shipment comes in. How do you handle the next step?

Paul: Well, the cargo is unloaded. It goes into bond until one of our customs officials can clear it. That can take anywhere from a couple hours to, uh --

John: I imagine some shipments never make it through.

Paul: Yeah, that's true.

John: And other shipments, I assume, are...delayed. How often does that happen?

Paul: That happens fairly often, actually, for one reason or another.

John: Have you ever delayed a shipment on purpose?

Paul: Of course not.

John: No, you wouldn't do that, would you?

Paul: Hey, you know what? I'm gonna have to cut this meeting short or else I'll be late for my next appointment.

John: Yes. Thank you for your time.

Paul: It was a pleasure.

Marlena: Mr. Hollingsworth.

John: Yes?

Marlena: You want him to delay Victor's shipments and put yours through quickly, don't you?

John: I never said that. And I'm insulted that you would assume I would.

Marlena: Get over it. Why do this to Victor? He was your father-in-law.

John: Somebody mentioned that. Isabella, right?

Marlena: You loved her very much, John. She died. We named our daughter Belle after her.

John: Oh, that's right. Just one of the many things that I have forgotten. Anyway, it seems like the DiMera operations can be expanded, and I'm just looking into ways of doing that. It's what a good businessman does, right?

John: Don't you want me to be a good businessman?

Hope: I mean it, Brady. I don't want to hear you talking like that. Do you hear me?

Bo: I'm just saying --

Kayla: Listen to her. We are gonna find you a donor. Do you hear me? We are gonna do that.

Bo: What if you don't? Come on, Kay. I've seen the way you look at my chart. Whatever's there, it ain't good. And even if you do find a donor, that person could die. I am not gonna let anyone put their life at risk for me.

Hope: They want to help you. Please let them help you.

Kayla: We all do.

Bo: That means a lot to me. I don't want to leave you. You know that, right? I want to be here for you. I don't want to let anyone down.

Hope: You have never let any of us down. And I know you're not about to start now.

Nick: I didn't know you were feeling this way.

Max: You know what? I really just don't want to talk about it.

Nick: Your father passed. I think you're entitled to a little soul-searching.

Max: Soul-searching. That's really not my thing.

Nick: This past year couldn't have been easy, starting with that whole airline thing.

Max: That wasn't the brightest move I ever made, investing all my money into someone I don't even know.

Nick: Well, we Horton's are usually trustworthy and upstanding. I guess Jeremy was our black sheep.

Max: Yeah, he was that.

Nick: Something good came out of it. Steph, right? I mean, I don't think you two would have ended up together if not for that fateful plane trip. Dude, what's it gonna take with you today?

Max: Look, all right, you don't need to hang around trying to cheer me up. I should probably get back to work anyway.

Stephanie: Hi.

Max: Hi yourself.

Bo: Well?

Kayla: No change. I think that's a good thing. All right, I am going to go find Lexie and Dr. Jonas and see if they've made any progress, all right? Hope, I'm gonna swing by the cafeteria. You want me to get you anything?

Hope: I'm fine. Thanks.

Kayla: Okay, bubba.

Bo: You know you're sick when your sister kisses you like that.

Kayla: Ah. Always a joker, aren't you?

Bo: [Groans]

Hope: Kay. Thank you for everything.

Kayla: Of course.

Bo: You look serious.

Hope: Just thinking... about you... about us.

Bo: That is serious.

Hope: Just reminding myself never... never to take anything for granted.

Bo: I don't know what I'd do if it was you in this bed.

Hope: I know exactly what you'd say. You'd tell me that everything was gonna be okay, because it's going to be.

Bo: Faith in the future and all that, huh?

Hope: You got it.

Steve: So, how's my baby mama doing? You look tired. You know what? As executive in charge of keeping you and our baby healthy and happy, I am ordering you to take the rest of the day off.

Kayla: I can't do that. I got to find Lexie and Daniel.

Steve: Are you gonna disobey a direct order?

Marlena: The John I know is a very savvy businessman. He would never deliberately undermine a competitor.

John: I'm not undermining anyone. In fact, I'm not even sure how to do that. I'm just looking into things. I'm taking the temperature of the shipping world, that's all.

Marlena: Don't play the dumb card with me. You're a lot more savvy than you let on. You tell people that you're just an empty robot. You're a poor soul whose brain was sucked out by Stefano.

John: Aren't I?

Marlena: I don't know who you are. But I know you're smarter than you let on. And frankly, your behavior frightens the hell out of me.

John: Well, consider us even because I don't know you either. And quite frankly, lady, sometimes you scare the hell out of me also.

Marlena: You don't know me. But you won't even try.

John: What am I supposed to do?

Marlena: Be the man I love?

John: How can I be someone that I'm not? This is...the new John Black. The old one -- why don't you just pretend he did die?

Marlena: I can't do that. Don't you understand?

John: No, I guess I don't.

Marlena: Well... I hope you will try and rethink everything.

John: Eh, can't win them all.

Marlena: Could I speak to Philip Kiriakis, please? Dr. Marlena Evans. Philip, hi. I think we need to talk. I need to warn you about something that may be going on at the docks.

Abe: You know I'm not asking you to take the rest of the day off. Just come with me to pick up Theo. He's been asking for you since you didn't come home from work last night.

Lexie: Ooh. That's not fair.

Abe: Well, I'm not playing fair. I really believe you need a break.

Lexie: You're right. I do. But I am not going to take one until we find a compatible donor who could very well save Bo's life, Abe. And maybe... maybe that'll make up for some of the terrible things my father's done to the whole Brady family over the years.

Abe: They don't blame you for that.

Lexie: Well, maybe they don't, but no breaks until the job is done.

Abe: [Chuckles] You know, that does sound familiar.

Lexie: Does it?

Abe: Yeah, that's what I always told you when you thought that I was working too hard. Maybe I'll bring Theo by after school.

Lexie: Yeah. That'd be nice.

Abe: Good. Good. Good luck.

Kayla: I can't just leave.

Steve: Why not? You on duty?

Kayla: No, but if something happens to Bo --

Steve: They'll call you. We're not going that far away.

Kayla: What do you have in mind?

Steve: Some things.

Kayla: Really? I can't. I really can't.

Steve: Oh, come on, baby. Come on. Hey, hey. Dr. Jonas, is it?

Daniel: Jonas it is.

Steve: Listen, maybe you can help me out.

Daniel: What's the problem?

Steve: Well, my wife is pregnant. She's been working too hard. She's tired, and she needs to take a break, but she refuses.

Daniel: Well, Lexie and I are handling all the compatibility testing. If we learn anything or if there's a change in your brother's condition, we'll call you.

Steve: They got your cellphone number, right?

Kayla: Of course they do.

Steve: Good, well, we'll see you in a couple hours.

Kayla: You know, why do I feel like I've just been railroaded?

Steve: 'Cause you have been.

Stephanie: It's chowder from the pub. I figured you'd be hungry.

Max: I am. Thank you. [Chuckles] You came all the way down here to bring me soup.

Stephanie: I did.

Max: I appreciate it. I do. But, um...

Stephanie: But what?

Max: You're in college now. And you're in a sorority. And you have this great internship. And, um, you're probably gonna get a high-profile job somewhere.

Stephanie: Sounds like a plan, but what does it have to do with me bringing you soup?

Max: I don't know. I'm busy. You're busy.

Stephanie: Are you breaking up with me?

Max: You can do better.

Stephanie: Than you? Don't ever talk like that. Don't talk about yourself that way. Like I've told you a million times, you are an amazing person. And I'm not gonna let you break up with me if for some reason you think otherwise.

Max: You're not gonna let me, huh?

Stephanie: No.

Max: You're an amazing person. You know that? Did you, um, go by the hospital?

Stephanie: Yeah, I did. There's no change with Bo.

Max: Great. I was hoping for some good news from there, you know, but my family just can't catch a break.

Stephanie: I'm sorry. My parents could use some good news, too.

Max: Why? What's wrong with your parents?

Max: Is it something with your mom and the baby?

Stephanie: Oh, no. God, no.

Max: Okay, I'm sorry. She's okay, though, right?

Stephanie: Yeah, she's doing great, considering.

Max: Considering?

Stephanie: It's a high-risk pregnancy.

Max: Okay, so, what's wrong with your family? Is it something with your dad?

Stephanie: Sort of, but I can't really talk about it.

Max: Steph, you can talk to me about anything.

Stephanie: I know, but, really, it's my dad's thing.

Chelsea: Hey, I was gonna go grab some coffee. Did you guys want anything?

Stephanie: Definitely. You know what? Let me go. My treat.

Chelsea: Is everything okay?

Max: I hope so.

Nick: Hey, Chelse, there's a problem with one of your calculations.

Chelsea: [Groans]

Kayla: Wow!

Steve: You like?

Kayla: Very nice! Look at this!

Steve: Yeah.

Kayla: Where did you find how to do that?

Steve: Room service, baby.

Kayla: Oh! That's a good idea.

Steve: Mmm. Look what else. I got herb tea 'cause I know that's good for the baby.

Kayla: Thank you. I think that some kisses would be good for the baby, too.

Steve: Oh?

Kayla: Yeah.

Steve: I got plenty of those. Here's another one.

Kayla: [Laughs] Well, I think you better keep them coming 'cause I got to go back to the hospital.

Steve: Sweetness... I know you're worried about your brother. We all are. But you got to take care of yourself. You're gonna have a baby.

Kayla: Yeah. We are, aren't we? Sometimes I still can't believe it. It's our little miracle. I hope that Bo and Hope get their miracle, too.

Steve: Yeah.

Kayla: We've been lucky. We've had so many. Like you coming back to me after all those years.

Steve: I am back, baby. And I'm not going anywhere.

Nick: I asked Lexie if I could help with the compatibility testing, but she and Dr. Jonas seem to have it covered.

Chelsea: How long do you think it'll be before we hear anything?

Nick: It's hard to say. It's just one of those things that takes time.

Chelsea: Maybe if it hadn't taken them so long to come up with the procedure in the first place, we would have a little more time left. I read the release. And I know that it's a dangerous operation, but if I can, I want to be my dad's donor.

Hope: Scoot over, Brady. How's that?

Bo: It's perfect.

Hope: When you get better, when you get out of this place, we need to make time just to be together, just like this -- time for us.

Bo: I know you don't want to talk about this, but... I don't have much time. I can feel it.

Hope: You're right. I don't want to talk about it.

Bo: Whatever happens, remember something for me, will you?

Hope: What's that?

Bo: How much I love you.

Hope: You're gonna get better. You know that. And if it's for no other reason, it's so you can teach Ciara how to drive, because I can't do that.

Bo: And to do background checks on all her boyfriends.

Hope: See? Now, I... I would never think of that. What would I do without you?

Bo: I don't know. I hope you never have to find out.

John: And here I thought I lost you.

Marlena: You're here to see that customs official, aren't you?

John: Is that against the law?

Marlena: No. But giving bribes is. That's why you're here, isn't it? John. Please don't do this. Please don't do it.

John: And if I do?

Marlena: If you do, I will turn you over to the authorities.

John: To your ex? Knock yourself out.

Marlena: John. If you take that step, you're crossing a line. You won't be able to come back.

John: And what do I have to come back to?

Marlena: Me. All of me.

Stephanie: Max, what's going on?

Marlena: John. Oh, thank God.

Kayla: [Inhales and exhales deeply]

Steve: Did you get enough to eat?

Kayla: [Giggles] I did. I'm full. I guess I needed a bigger break than I thought.

Steve: Yeah. I think you do need a big break.

Kayla: Uh-oh. I need to get back to the hospital.

Steve: Wait, wait, wait, wait. When?

Kayla: Soon.

Steve: How soon?

Kayla: Pretty soon.

Steve: Half-hour?

Kayla: Maybe sooner. Okay, maybe later. [Laughs]

Steve: Maybe later.

Nick: Still thinking about your dad?

Chelsea: I can't stop.

Nick: He's gonna be okay. And no matter what happens, I'm here for you.

Chelsea: You promise?

Nick: I promise.

Hope: You can't leave me. I won't let you.

Lexie: Whoa, take a look at this.

Daniel: Dude, we are locked on.

Steve: You're gonna save his life.

Kayla: I'm gonna try.

Ava: Come on. Look at her. It's obvious. This is the bitch who stole Patch from me.
