Tony: Hello, Anna.

Anna: I'm busy.

Tony: Doing what?

Anna: Preparing for a job interview.

Tony: Oh. [Chuckles]

Anna: I saw that. You were laughing.

Tony: No, I wasn't laughing.

Anna: I knew you wouldn't take me seriously.

Tony: Well, of course I take you seriously.

Anna: No, you don’t. But I promise, you're going to.

Sami: Hi, pretty. Okay, you did such a good job eating.

E.J.: I think somebody's getting tired. Come on. Okay, okay, okay. Come on, time to lie down.

[Cellphone rings] [Baby crying]

Sami: Oh, sweetie. It's okay. It's the district attorney's office. Hello?

E.J.: Oh, shh, shh, shh.

Sami: Oh. Yes, I understand. Okay. Yeah, no, I understand. Thank you. [Clears throat] So, they were just notifying me of Lucas' trial date and that they expect me to testify.

E.J.: Did you agree to do that?

Sami: [Chuckles] No, but as they just reminded me, I could just as easily be subpoenaed.

E.J.: I'm sorry. I know how upsetting that must be for you.

Sami: Don’t. Just don’t.

Lexie: Come on, Stefano. Talk to me.

Roman: Lexie, you've been here ever since I left. Why don't you take a break?

Lexie: I keep thinking he can hear me, Roman. That if I keep talking, I can get through to him.

Roman: Still no idea what caused the stroke?

Lexie: All the tests and the scans had shown no indication of a stroke.

Roman: Nothing in the blood test?

Lexie: Mnh-mnh. No. No, everything came back negative for drugs and toxins. They have no idea what's wrong with him. I just keep getting this sense that he's trying to talk to me. He's trying to say something to me, but he can’t.

Roman: Lexie, listen to me -- go take your break.

Lexie: I know what a horrible man my father is, Roman. I know all the pain he's caused. But he's still my father. I have to try to help him if I can.

Roman: I know you do. Come on, you can't do anything right now. Take a break. Come on.

Stefano: [Thinking] No, Alexandra, don't leave me!

Steve: Hey, Roman. Hi, Lexie.

Lexie: Hi. Hi, Steve.

Roman: Kayla with you?

Steve: Yeah. We just brought Stephanie in for a counseling session. Roman, are you working the Decker case?

Roman: Steve, you know I can't talk to you about that. I'm sorry.

Steve: I get that. I just, uh -- I'm just doing everything I can. I just want my daughter to recover from what happened to her, if that's even possible.

Roman: Yeah. Yeah. I can tell you this -- we are trying to do the best we can for everybody. Now that he knows where the body is, we hope that old man Decker feels like he's getting justice for his son's death.

Steve: I think justice was served when that rapist died.

Shawn D.: Hello?

Woman: What are you doing here?

Shawn D.: We're looking for a Crystal.

Woman: Ah, well, everyone's looking for Crystal tonight.

Belle: She has our daughter, and we're not leaving here without her.

Hope: How did Crystal get away from us?

Bo: She's got to be up here someplace.

Hope: I'm gonna check this door. It's locked. Do you have a lock picker?

Bo: Be careful.

Marlena: That's impossible.

Roman: Well, Steve, like I said, I think it'd be a good idea if we don't talk about the Decker case.

Steve: Fine. So, what's going on with Stefano?

Lexie: We don't know. It appears he's had a massive stroke, but the tests they've run so far don't support it.

Steve: You think someone did this to him?

Roman: I don't see how.

Lexie: I want to run some more tests.

Roman: Lexie, it's Dr. Campbell's case. Why don't you let him handle it?

[Cellphone ringing]

Steve: Excuse me. Hey, little sister.

Adrienne: Hey, you busy?

Steve: I wish. What do you need?

Adrienne: Could you meet me down at the Brady Pub?

Steve: Yeah. Is everything all right?

Adrienne: Yeah, yeah. It's, um...I just need to talk to you, okay?

Steve: Okay. I'll be right there. I'm gonna go see Adrienne.

Roman: All right. Say hello.

Steve: Yeah.

Roman: Lexie, don't beat yourself up. At least this way he can't hurt anybody or cause any trouble.

Lexie: He didn't have a stroke, Roman. Something else caused this. I was shocked when the blood work came back negative. I'm thinking of running some more tests, maybe some new ones.

Stefano: Yes. Please, please. Help me, my daughter.

E.J.: Samantha, I know how upset you are at the prospect of Lucas going to prison.

Sami: He was just trying to protect me from you...and your father.

E.J.: I know why he did what he did. I don't blame him. I mean, if I was in...his position, I would have probably done the same thing.

Sami: Oh, really? You know he confessed. He -- he might go to prison for shooting you. God, I hate this...and what this is doing to Ally and to Johnny, and that here I am alone without the man that I love, stuck with you.

E.J.: All right. You're stuck with me, okay? And I know that a safe house or safe cabin isn't very conducive to us playing happy family, but for the sake of those babies, we need to try. Samantha, I know I've disappointed you tremendously. But I give you my word, darling. I'm not going to leave you.

Philip: Do you know a Crystal?

Woman: Can't say that I do.

Philip: You just said other people were looking for her.

Woman: That doesn't mean we know her, now does it, laddie?

Bo: There's no sign of her. Be careful.

Marlena: You're supposed to be dead.

Woman: [Irish accent] Clearly, my dear, I'm not.

Lexie: Roman, would you mind getting in touch with E.J. when you get a chance? Ask him to meet me here.

Roman: You got it.

Tony: You've been acting like this ever since we got back from the trip. I still don't know what happened.

Anna: Oh, let's recap. You bought a company without consulting me or thinking that maybe I could offer you advice or help. I dumped you and decided to get a job and a life of my own.

Tony: Well, I didn't think you'd care. I mean, it's not -- well, it's business. It's...not shopping.

Anna: You see? There you go again -- patronizing me. I used to run a very successful business, Tony.

Tony: Let's face it -- we both know the fact that you had nothing to do with the talents or the brains behind that operation.

Anna: [Laughs] So now I'm stupid and untalented?

Tony: No, no, no. Sorry. That's not what I meant to say. That came out the wrong way.

Anna: Yeah. [Chuckles] I think it came out just the way you meant it.

Tony: How did I end up in the doghouse on this? [Cellphone rings] Excuse me. Hello?

Lexie: It's our father, Tony. He's here at the hospital in the ICU. would you please come down here right away?

Tony: Yeah, Alexandra.

E.J.: Is there anything that I can do to make this easier for you?

Sami: You can make your father disappear. [Cellphone rings]

E.J.: Hello?

Roman: E.J., Roman Brady.

E.J.: Yes.

Roman: Your sister would like you to come to the hospital. I'll send one of my men to drive you here.

E.J.: All right, fine. That was your father. Says I need to go down to the hospital. My sister wants to see me.

Sami: Did he say what it was about?

E.J.: No.

Steve: Hey.

Adrienne: Hi.

Steve: Wow. Okay. What's going on?

Adrienne: Actually, it's more like moving on. Justin, the boys, and I are moving and leaving Salem.

Bo: She's got to be here somewhere.

Hope: Let's go.

Shawn D.: You said there were other people here looking for her. Who were they?

Woman: They didn't give their names.

Man: We sent them on. Suggest you be moving on, too. There's nothing for you here.

Philip: You're lying, and you're definitely hiding something.

Shawn D.: I say we just call the cops and see what they know.

Crystal: That's enough.

Belle: It's you. Where is she? Where is my daughter?!

Marlena: I can see her in you. The resemblance is uncanny. You must be her. It must be true, but we all thought you were dead.

Woman: Trust me, Miss, I'm not. I will answer all your questions, and when I do, all the mysteries of the past will finally be solved.

Anna: Yes, hello. Um, I understand you have an opening for an ad executive. Well, I'd like to speak to someone about scheduling an interview.

Steve: You're leaving Salem? Why?

Adrienne: Well, when I first came back, it was to help you. And I guess I just kind of stuck around to get back to my blue-collar roots, I guess. Justin, bless his heart, he indulged me. And I bought the Cheatin' Heart, and I tried to make a go of it.

Steve: And you did. So why leave now? I mean, I'd understand if your business was failing. You're doing good business. Or maybe, what, did you find out you didn't like it or something?

Adrienne: Oh, no, I love it. I love it. But it's just...I love Justin more. And he's miserable here. And he just got this great job offer in Dubai, so...

Steve: I'm not even sure I know where that is.

Adrienne: That's okay. It's just, uh, it's just halfway around the world. That better not keep you guys from visiting, hmm?

Steve: So, you're serious about this, aren't you?

Adrienne: I guess this is goodbye.

Nurse: Dr. Carver, the lab asked me to find you and give you these reports.

Lexie: Thanks.

Roman: More test results for Stefano?

Lexie: No. No, they're test results on someone else, someone, unlike my father, who is kind and wonderful and who may be very, very sick.

Roman: Anything that I can do to help?

Lexie: Actually, I think there is.

Belle: Where is Claire? What have you done with her?

Crystal: Your daughter is safe.

Belle: Where is she?!

Shawn D.: Tell us, damn it!

Philip: I'm calling the police.

Crystal: I wouldn't do that if I were you, not if you ever want to see that little girl again.

Belle: You tell me where my daughter is right now.

Marlena: Is this some kind of a trick?

Woman: No. I can well imagine why you'd think that. No, it's no trick. 'Tis I, still alive. Although I know there are some who wish I weren’t.

Marlena: Tell us everything.

Hope: Marlena? John? What are you doing here?

Marlena: It's a long story.

Bo: Yeah, I'll bet.

Marlena: What are you doing here?

Bo: Following a lead on Claire and the woman that took her. Who's this?

Hope: It -- it can't be.

Marlena: That was my reaction, too. But it is. It is her.

Woman: I am.

Bo: No. It's not possible.

Anna: Yes, thank you. I will see you then.

Steve: Man, isn't this kind of sudden?

Adrienne: Yeah, for you. But Justin and I, we've been talking about it for a while.

Steve: What about the heart? What are you gonna do? Are you gonna sell it?

Adrienne: I was thinking about asking Max if he might run fore till I figure out what to do with it.

Steve: I'm really gonna miss you, baby sister.

Adrienne: I'm gon-- I'm gonna miss you more than -- I'm gonna miss you more than you know.

Steve: You're just saying that. I'm a pain in the butt. You're not gonna miss me.

Adrienne: Yeah, you are a pain in the butt, but you're my pain in the butt.

Steve: Okay, so, um, when we come visit, what kind of clothes should we bring?

Adrienne: Got me hanging. How about I write you and let you know, okay?

Steve: You better.

Adrienne: I will.

Steve: Okay. I-I-I'm not good at this, so let's...

Adrienne: Yeah, I'm -- I'm -- me neither. Let's not make this any more painful than it has to be. Um... okay. Um... I'll see you. [Crying]

Steve: You bet you will.

Adrienne: I love you so much. Got to go. Got to go. Got to go.

Steve: I love you, too. [Door closes]

Roman: How bad is it?

Lexie: Not good. I won't know anything else until they come in for more tests.

Tony: Oh. We bumped into each other in the lobby.

E.J.: Lexie, do they know what caused the stroke?

Lexie: It wasn't a stroke.

E.J.: I don't understand. What do you mean?

Tony: The issue isn't what caused his condition. The issue is can he be treated.

Lexie: He's in a vegetative state of some sort. Um, the prognosis isn't good.

E.J.: What, uh...what exactly are you trying to say?

Lexie: Look, the reason I-I asked you to come [Sighs] I need your help in deciding what to do for our father.

Shawn D.: Take us to her now.

Crystal: I'm sorry, but I can't do that.

Bo: Marlena...talk to me. What the hell is going on here?

Hope: Why did you break John out of the hospital?

Marlena: It was important that John follow through with this mysterious mission of Stefano's.

Bo: And she's part of it?

Marlena: I think she is, yes.

Bo: Roman's gonna have a problem with this.

Marlena: I took him out of the hospital without official discharge papers. That's not a federal offense.

Hope: He was in police custody.

Marlena: He was in protective custody. He'd not been charged with anything at all.

Bo: Right. John, what do you know about her?

John: Stefano wanted me to find her.

Bo: Why?

Hope: We're here to find our granddaughter. I think you have the answers to all our questions.

Woman: [Coughs] I-I do. And I was just about to tell them everything when you barged in and interrupted me.

Bo: Well, no one's stopping you now, so start talking.

Caroline: Hi. Are you ready for a refill?

Anna: Oh, no, no, no. I'm pretty buzzed already.

Caroline: Yes, um... and you are...still pretty angry with Tony. I'm sor-- I'm sorry, but I could not help but notice.

Anna: I have had it with that man, Caroline.

Caroline: Now, don't be too hasty.

Anna: I'm not. If anything, I've been the soul of patience, but time and time again, he's never appreciated me or given me the recognition I deserve. I mean, I worked my way up to the top of the fashion world. It's true I never really designed anything, but I was a household name.

Caroline: So...what are you gonna do about it?

Anna: Well, do you remember that advertising company that was looking for an account exec?

Caroline: Yeah, I gave you the phone number.

Anna: Well, I have an interview with them, and it just so happens that they are in direct competition with the company Tony bought. He is going to regret underestimating me.

[Chuckles]

Lexie: I called you here because...we're it. We're all that's left of Stefano's family. And I believe that something happened to him to cause this condition -- something...mysterious. Not of natural causes. Nothing in the initial tests indicate anything amiss, but clearly something is wrong. I could run more tests. I could easily check for brain activity, but...something has kept me from doing that.

E.J.: What's that?

Lexie: I don't know if I should. Maybe someone did this to him, or maybe it's fate. You know, at least this way he can't hurt anyone. I hate what he did to so many people that I love, myself included. I don't -- I-I-I-I don't know what to do. You're my brothers. You have to help me decide.

Tony: It's ironic, isn't it? The master manipulator's fate lies in the hands of the three people he manipulated and hurt the most.

E.J.: [Chuckles] Yeah. He'd tell you what he did, he did for his family, you know.

Tony: He told us a lot of things. And everything he told us were basically lies.

Stefano: I did love you -- all of you. Now, show me that you all really love me, too.

E.J.: So, hey, what do you think we should do?

Lexie: We need to decide how we really feel about him. And then...I think we'll know.

Shawn D.: You told us that you took Claire to protect her.

Crystal: We did.

Belle: Then why won't you give her to us?

Crystal: Because I can't be sure she'll be safe.

Shawn D.: We're her parents. We're gonna make sure she's perfectly fine.

Philip: You're working for someone, aren't you?

Chloe: Is it Stefano DiMera?

Crystal: I hate that man.

Philip: We hate him as much as you do.

Belle: You have to tell me where she is.

Shawn D.: She's here right now, isn't she?

Belle: If she's here, you have to tell me.

Philip: We'll just search the place until we find her. Let's go, Shawn.

Crystal: No! No! Look, there are already others here. Let them go. [Sighs] Upstairs.

Woman: Stefano and I have been playing this little game of cat and mouse for well over a year now, ever since he found out I was still alive. But every time he got close, I got away. I managed to amass a considerable amount of money, so I hired people to work for me and keep track of what that evil man was doing. And they made their base in your little town of Salem.

Hope: That deserted storefront.

Woman: Yes.

Hope: Rob and Crystal worked for you.

Woman: Yes.

Bo: So you're behind Claire's kidnapping.

Woman: [Sighs] I was.

[Door opens]

Belle: Where is my daughter?

Steve: Hey.

Roman: Hey. How's Adrienne?

Steve: Well...she and Justin and the kids are leaving town.

Roman: That's pretty sudden, isn't it?

Steve: Not according to her. I guess Justin got some great new job and they can't pass it up. So, how's old Stefano doing?

Roman: No change. Lexie, E.J., Tony -- they're in there trying to decide what to do.

Steve: What's to decide?

Roman: I'm not sure. I don't really give a damn. Are you here to pick up Kayla?

Steve: Yeah. Do you need to talk to her?

Roman: Yeah. Yeah. Stefano's not the only one Lexie's dealing with today. She got some other test results, another patient. Something really disturbing and something that, uh, you and Kayla need to know.

Tony: Never really loved me, did you, Stefano?

Stefano: I did, Tony. I truly did.

Tony: You just discarded me like some unwanted bastard.

Stefano: That does not matter anymore.

Tony: You know...when I look down on you like this and see you lying there so helplessly, you know what I feel? I don't feel pity, not compassion, not hate, not anger. Certainly not love. No. Truth is...I feel nothing. Nothing.

Stefano: You are my blood, my son. I know that you will not turn your back on me.

E.J.: When I think about the evil that you've done...and the, uh, the hell that you put me through to perpetuate it...

Stefano: There is nothing, nothing more important than our family, our legacy.

E.J.: You...you turned what I had with Samantha into something...cold... something heartless. Because of you, I forced myself on her. I mean, that's something I have to live with for the rest of my life. Because of you, the woman that I love will never love me. She will never trust me because of you and your "take what you want when you want it" attitude, all so you can have your...heir. Where are your heirs now, eh?

Lexie: You nearly cost me my marriage and every friend I had in Salem when you switched my baby with Hope's all those years ago. You almost cost me my sanity when you held me captive in that tunnel for months. [Sighs] Thank God I grew up not knowing you were my father. I was luckier than my brothers. I didn't have to fight so hard to escape your influence. And I have my husband, Abe, who truly loves me, and we were blessed with a wonderful son, who doesn't know what a monster his grandfather is.

Stefano: Don't say that, Alexandra.

Lexie: I am a doctor. I took an oath to do no harm. And I believe that if I keep digging, I can find a way to help you.

Stefano: You must. You must, Alexandra. You must!

Lexie: What do we do? Do we try to help him? Or...do we send him to an institution and let him stay like this possibly forever... helpless, but unable to harm another human being ever again?

Belle: Where is Claire?

Woman: She's safe. You have me word.

Bo: Your word? How do we know you're telling us the truth?

Woman: Why would I lie?

Bo: It's hard to tell. But none of this is possible. How could it be?

Marlena: I must tell you, the proof is standing right in front of us.

Chloe: Do you think she knows anything about Brady?

Philip: We'll find out. But if Claire's here, we should concentrate on finding her, making sure she's safe.

Bo: Can you prove to us who you are?

Woman: He can tell you that everything I'm saying is true.

John: I know that it's true that Stefano's been pursuing her.

Bo: And it was your mission to find her?

Woman: Stefano searched for me, but I always managed to outsmart him and all the other soldiers that he sent.

John: I'm not here to hurt you.

Shawn D.: I don't care about Stefano or you. I just want you to tell us where our daughter is.

Woman: I assure you, she's safe.

Philip: That's not good enough. Why should we believe her?

Marlena: If this woman is who we all believe she is, she would never hurt a Brady child. Would you?

Steve: Don't worry, Roman. Kayla and I will help.

Roman: You sure you can do this?

Steve: Yeah. I'll go fill her in right now. We'll catch the next flight to Ireland.

Stefano: You must help me, all of you. Get me out of here. Get me Rolf. He'll know what's wrong, and he will know exactly what to do.

Lexie: Well?

E.J.: Wait a second. This is not some stranger we're talking about. This is our father.

Tony: Right. He's also a man who's caused irreparable harm to so many people.

E.J.: What are you saying, Tony? Are you saying that we'd be better off without him?

Tony: The world will be better off without him. And maybe, just maybe, we might have a chance to become better people because he's not in our lives anymore. I mean...you're able to separate yourself from him. Alexandra, what do you think we should do?

Lexie: The world will be better off without him.

Stefano: You cannot mean that, Alexandra.

Tony: And you?

E.J.: Maybe, uh...maybe without him, I would finally know what unconditional and unselfish love...really is.

Tony: May you rot in hell.

Stefano: You son of a bitch.

Lexie: So...we're agreed.

E.J.: Yes.

Tony: Absolutely.

Lexie: Okay.

Stefano: No. No. No-o-o-o-o-o-o!

Woman: I'd never hurt a Brady or any of their kin.

Marlena: Then you really are her.

Woman: Yes. I'm Colleen Brady.

Crawford: I'm going to the D.A. I'm gonna have him press full charges. May you rot in hell for what you did.

E.J.: Our situation has changed dramatically.

Colleen: I'm Colleen Brady. I was born with that name. It's a name I'll carry to me very last breath.
