Kayla: Are you all right?
Steve: No. [Voice breaking] Our baby girl... was r-- she was raped. I couldn't protect her. I want to kill the son of a bitch who did that to her, but I can't because he's already dead. I'm not all right.
Abe: How soon are the two of you going to Ireland?
Bo: Very soon.
Hope: We thought we should check in with you.
Abe: Interpol is tracking Crystal's whereabouts. They're letting her lead them to whoever's behind Claire's kidnaping.
Bo: They're probably responsible for Brady's disappearance, too.
Hope: I still think that Interpol should just move in and take Claire.
Abe: Brady's a prisoner. He could pay the price if we interfere with their plans. Interpol's keeping a close watch, and it seems like Crystal's taking pretty good care of Claire.
Bo: And Rob, the guy that Shawn collared, said that this whole abduction scheme was to keep Belle, Claire, and Brady safe from the DiMeras.
Hope: Hopefully we'll find out who's behind all this once we get to Ireland.
Bo: God knows what else we'll find once we get there.
Anna: We could have stayed in our hotel and had dinner in our room.
Tony: But I was in the mood for some good, old-fashioned home cooking.
Anna: Well, you sure I can't interest you in some good, old-fashioned room service?
Tony: Maybe for dessert.
Tony: Are you sorry we came back?
Anna: No. No. But island-hopping around the Mediterranean, dining and dancing till dawn -- it really was wonderful. And I never wanted to leave.
Tony: Nor did I. Well, as they say, all good things must come to an end.
Anna: Must they? You know, Tony, I know we've been through a lot since you and I found each other again.
Tony: Including your time with Roman.
Anna: Look, we both made our share of mistakes. And maybe going through all of that is why we're so good together now.
Tony: And what doesn't kill you... makes you stronger, yeah?
Anna: Well, then, you must be superman. [Both laugh]
Tony: Oh, what the hell? I was waiting for a more suitable atmosphere, but I'm gonna do it. Not that it's going to come to a total surprise for you.
Caroline: Anna, Tony, when did you two get back?
Tony: Um, well, e-earlier today. Um, so tell us, what has gone on since we've been away?
Caroline: Well, hard to know where to start.
Roman: What the hell happened?
Officer: Paramedic said he looked like he had a stroke.
Roman: Who found him?
Officer: Actually, his visitor called the guard and alerted him.
Roman: Who was his visitor?
Officer: Dr. Marlena Evans.
John: You don't seem too sure about helping me get out of here.
Marlena: I know that your mission is to find someone and kill them.
John: I just told you I wasn't gonna kill anybody.
Marlena: And I don't know if I can believe you. What I do know is letting you pursue this mission is the only way to free you from Stefano's grasp. But, please, make no mistake. We do this my way, not yours.
Marlena: I know what you're thinking. As soon as we're out of here, you'll lose me and go off on your own.
John: So, what's it gonna be? Are you a doctor or a mind reader?
Marlena: Stefano programmed you to complete the mission no matter what... even if that means your death.
John: I'm not about to die for anybody.
Marlena: You're not about to kill anybody, either.
Stefano: And when you find your target, you will eliminate them.
John: I'm not a killer, Doc.
Marlena: Maybe. Maybe not. But you are a liar.
Abe: As soon as you get back, your reinstatement should be approved. But you're gonna have to get a physical as soon as you return.
Hope: Why wait? I could take care of it before I go. We could stop at the hospital on the way to the airport.
Bo: I'm sure Kayla could squeeze you in somehow.
Abe: You know, you're due for your annual physical, too.
Bo: I feel fine.
Abe: You know the rules.
Bo: It's bad luck to see a doctor when you're not sick.
Hope: While I'm there, you could get checked out, too. We could do it together. Come on.
Bo: All right, in that case.
Abe: All right, go. Go. Go get Claire. Come back safe.
Hope: Thank you so much.
Bo: See you.
Abe: Yeah, this is Commissioner Carver. Is he in?
Roman: Do they have a diagnosis yet?
Nurse: It appears to have been a massive stroke. At the moment, Mr. DiMera's stable but unconscious.
Roman: Do you know if Dr. Evans is in the hospital?
Nurse: I believe she's up in psychiatric.
Roman: Okay. Thank you. I want a guard outside this room 24/7. Nobody goes in there, except hospital personnel, without my permission.
Nurse: Yes, sir.
Kayla: Listen to me, please. Don't do anything that you would regret.
Steve: I meant what I said. I wish I could have killed him myself. I meant that.
Kayla: Don't talk that way. Come on.
Steve: Kayla, what he did to our little girl, she'll be scarred by that for the rest of her life.
Kayla: You know what? She's in counseling. She's got our love. She's got our support. She's got our understanding. The worst thing that you can do right now is to react with anger and hate.
Steve: I do hate. And I am angry. But I know better than to let her see it. [Pager beeps]
Kayla: It's me. I got to go. Listen to me. Are you gonna be all right?
Caroline: Well, uh, my great-granddaughter, Claire, she's been kidnaped.
Anna: Oh, my God.
Caroline: Amazingly enough, Bo and Roman and Abe don't think he had anything to do with it.
Anna: Oh, Caroline, I will pray that she'll be found soon.
Caroline: Thank you very much. Well, now, you two just let me know when you're ready to order.
Tony: Yeah, we will.
Anna: Thank you. Do you think Stefano is innocent?
Tony: No. He's got to be connected somehow. You know, I'm gonna put out some feelers. If I get information, I'll pass it on to the police. But that poor little girl. She must be terrified.
Anna: Would you like to leave?
Tony: No. No. No. No, I'm not gonna allow this to spoil our first night back in Salem.
Anna: Oh, that's right. You did say you had a surprise for me.
Tony: [Chuckles] I did. I think it's something you always wanted from me. I think it's something that would make us both very happy.
Anna: Oh, Tony, I never thought this would happen.
Tony: You know, I've been procrastinating. Just the whole idea, it just makes me nervous.
Anna: Well, you're making me nervous. Just say it, Tony, please.
Tony: All right. I've decided that I am going to put down roots and stay in Salem, and the reason is... I bought a business!
Anna: You what?
Tony: I bought an advertising company -- totally legit -- to prove to you and to prove to everyone else that I'm not following in my father's footsteps.
Anna: A-a-an advertising agency.
Tony: You seem disappointed.
Anna: Why would I be disappointed?
Tony: You tell me.
Anna: Well... if I did, I'd have to explain what I was expecting.
Tony: Ah. And what were you expecting?
Anna: Well, if you don't know, I'm not about to tell you.
Hope: Thank you so much for squeezing me in.
Kayla: Not a problem.
Bo: I got a favor to ask you, too.
Kayla: If I can help, sure.
Bo: Well, I'm sure you can, but I'd rather you didn’t.
Kayla: Okay, now I'm confused.
Bo: Better than being embarrassed.
Hope: He needs his annual physical, too.
Bo: I'm not gonna have my sister do it.
Kayla: I wouldn't want to, either. I mean, I would certainly save your life if you're dying, depending on where the wound is.
Kayla: Okay, fine. I will see if I can find somebody to look you over while I take care of Hope.
Lexie: I'd be happy to examine you, Bo, or would you be uncomfortable with that, too?
Bo: It's better than my sister. Isn't there somebody else?
Hope: We have a plane to catch, Brady.
Bo: Okay. All right.
Lexie: Cubicle one. I'll be gentle.
Kayla: Let's go to cubicle two. So, you and Bo are going out of town?
Hope: Yeah, Ireland.
Hope: We got a lead on Claire.
Kayla: Well, good luck.
Hope: Thanks. Kay, is everything okay? You seem pretty distracted.
Kayla: It's just Steve. I'm just worried about him.
Steve: Oh, look who's here. [Chuckles]
Crawford: If you'll excuse me.
Steve: No. No. I won’t. And I won't forgive your son for what he did to my daughter and all those other girls. You hear me?
Crawford: There's nothing you can do. My son is dead. And I'll never forgive them for killing him.
Steve: The girls said it was an accident. That means it was an accident. Now, they tried everything they could to get your son off the streets, but you used your influence with the dean to protect him. Did you know what was going on all along and you just chose to look the other way?
Crawford: I didn't believe what my son was accused of was true.
Steve: You didn't believe it, or you didn't want to? You know what? By protecting him, you made him believe he could get away with anything.
Crawford: No matter what he did, he didn't deserve to die.
Steve: Oh, yes, he did. Yes, he did.
Crawford: You're accusing me of looking the other way if I thought my son was a rapist. Aren't you doing the same thing, denying the possibility that your daughter and her friends committed murder?
Steve: She isn't capable of murder, and neither are her friends.
Crawford: I didn't think my son was capable of doing what he was accused of, either.
Steve: Oh, but you do now, don't you?
Crawford: All his mother and I want right now is to get his body back so we can give him a proper burial and mourn him.
Steve: And make everyone you blame for his death pay, right?
Crawford: That's right. Just like you want me to pay for what you believe my son did to your daughter.
Steve: You know... I had a lousy father. He was a drunk and a bully. He beat my mother senseless nearly every day they were together. Got so bad she gave us kids away because she felt like that was the only way to keep us safe from him. So, I know a little something about lousy fathers. And I know you didn't care about your son because if you did, you would have been paying attention. You would have realized what kind of person he was. But instead, you stood by while he hurt all those girls... and ended up dead himself.
Crawford: I'm not responsible for what happened to my son. Your daughter and her friends are. And I promise you, they will pay. And there's nothing you or anyone else can do to protect them.
Steve: Well, you got no idea who you're dealing with.
Crawford: Neither do you.
Doctor: I want him taken down for an MRI, a CAT scan, a full blood work up, and tox screen. Something caused this, and I'm determined to find out what it is.
Nurse: Yes, doctor. Right away.
Stefano: [Thinking] Marlena Evans did this to me. You have to learn the truth so that you can help me!
John: I can't believe you think I'd be lying to you.
Marlena: I think you would tell me anything at all if it meant I would help you escape.
John: I told you about remembering the name "Obbin." And that's the name of a priest from Ireland. Now, I'm pretty sure that I was instructed not to release any details of my mission. But I told you about that name because I trust you, blondie. Now, I also know that by helping me, you are taking an enormous risk here.
Marlena: No risk is too great if it means getting the real you back to us.
John: Yeah. [Chuckles] like I'm that great a guy.
Marlena: You are. Shall I list your virtues?
John: Not until I've proven they exist. I'll tell you what -- I'm gonna make you a promise. I swear to you on this love that you say we share... that I won't hurt you or anybody else, as long as you keep helping me.
Marlena: What if I stopped helping you? Are all bets off, then?
John: I don't think you will.
Marlena: I won’t...unless you give me reason.
John: Shh! Here he comes.
Roman: Can I talk to you for a minute?
Marlena: Of course.
Anna: Please leave me alone, Tony.
Tony: Well, obviously I've done something wrong.
Anna: No, it's what you didn't do. What, no clue?
Tony: I'm thinking.
Anna: Think harder.
Tony: You don't want to stay here in Salem?
Anna: [Chuckles] Isn't it a little late to be asking me that?
Anna: "Ahh" what?
Tony: I know why you're upset. It's because I made all these plans without consulting you.
Anna: Tony, it's not about consulting. It's about considering whether I had plans of my own, things that might affect the two of us, you know? But, no, you just went along and made plans for your whole life without even thinking about me.
Tony: Oh. You don't think I should have bought this company?
Anna: No. I think what you're doing is great. And I wish you all the best of luck, really.
Roman: Stefano was just admitted. They think he had a stroke, but, of course, you know that 'cause you were with him when it happened.
Marlena: I was. I called the guard.
Roman: Doc, I know how much you hate him, so I just got to wonder a little bit. Was it a coincidence you were there with him?
Marlena: I don't believe in coincidence. I think it was fate.
Roman: You had your medical bag with you when you saw him.
Marlena: Yes, with your permission.
Roman: And you gave him...
Marlena: I gave him a truth serum. You and Abe were in the observation room when I did it.
Roman: Yeah, but you saw him later alone, unsupervised.
Marlena: What are you implying, that I did something more, that I gave him more than Sodium Pentothal and aspirin?
Roman: Did you?
Marlena: Roman, if you're accusing me, go ahead and do it.
Roman: You have no idea what might have brought that stroke on.
Marlena: I know what it wasn't -- a guilty conscience.
Roman: Okay. Okay, Doc. No more questions. No more accusations.
Marlena: Oh, thank you. Thank you. Where is he?
Roman: They're running tests, then they're gonna bring him back down to ICU.
Marlena: Good. Don't expect anything.
Roman: I will talk to you later.
John: Sorry, Doc. I will take out my target and complete my mission. If you get in my way, I'll just have to take you out, too.
Bo: I'm glad the board decided to reinstate you after they found out Sami blackmailed you into switching those tests.
Lexie: Yeah, thanks. I really missed this place, you know? They're keeping my reinstatement pretty low-key, but if, uh... never mind.
Lexie: Uh... can you keep a secret?
Bo: Sure. What?
Lexie: Okay. I've been dying to tell someone, but I don't want to tell Abe, just in case it doesn't work out.
Lexie: My name has been submitted for the new chief of staff.
Bo: Whoa, you'd be perfect. When do you find out?
Lexie: Well, pretty soon, I think.
Bo: That's great. Good luck. You deserve it.
Lexie: Thanks. Okay, time for blood.
Bo: Yeah. Right.
Hope: Kay, thank you so much.
Kayla: I'm happy to do it. I just pray that you find Brady and Claire and bring them home safe.
Hope: What is it? Kay, what do you want to say to me that you're not saying?
Kayla: It's just, um, Steve and Stephanie. I'm just worried about them. [Sighs]
Hope: Tell me. You can tell me. It's okay. What is it?
Kayla: You know those, uh, those rapes at the sorority?
Kayla: Stephanie was one of his victims.
Hope: Oh, my God, Kay.
Kayla: Our little girl was raped, and she -- she's been carrying that -- that pain and horror around for months.
Hope: God, Steve must be devastated, as well.
Kayla: It's tearing him apart. I mean, Stephanie's getting counseling, but him, I mean, he's trying to deal with it himself. I'm just terrified of what might happen to him.
Hope: I know. You'll figure out a way to help him and Stephanie.
Kayla: Believe me, I'm trying. I am so trying.
Doctor: I don't see anything conclusive from the CAT scan or MRI. I have to hope something shows up in the blood tests.
Tony: Would you tell me what's going on with you?
Anna: You should know.
Tony: Well, I'll tell you what I do know. I had a wonderful time with you on that cruise. And I treasure every day and night that I've spent with you. And I finally realize how lucky I am that I have you in my life.
Anna: Tony, you have a funny way of showing it.
Tony: On the contrary. I just did some things I would never have done before because of you. I've disavowed myself from my entire family. I want to work hard. I want to be with you. I want things to be just as they are.
Anna: And y-- and you really don't see any reason at all to change the way things are between us?
Tony: Oh, darling, no. No. Good God. No, I want things exactly as they are. Darling, you know, if it's not broken, you don't fix it.
Anna: Oh. It's broken, all right. And you broke it.
Tony: Huh? What?
Ethan: Mr. DiMera. Mr. DiMera?
Ethan: I can't believe my good luck in running into you.
Bo: Sis, everything check out with my beautiful wife?
Kayla: As far as I could tell, and I'm sure the tests will confirm it.
Hope: Lexie, what about my very handsome husband here? Is he all right?
Lexie: Well, what she said. Seriously, good luck finding Claire.
Hope: We're not coming back without her, though.
Steve: Amen to that. Anything I can do to help?
Bo: We'll let you know.
Steve: You just call. I'll be there.
Bo: Thanks, man.
Kayla: You okay?
Steve: I'm fine.
Kayla: What happened to your hand?
Steve: Uh, I hit something. A wall.
Abe: Hey, honey.
Lexie: Hi, honey.
Abe: Well, I'm glad I caught the two of you. I have news.
Roman: How is he?
Doctor: His condition's worsened. He's lapsed into a coma.
Roman: Any update on what caused the stroke?
Doctor: There's nothing conclusive in the brain scans. We're waiting for the results of the blood tests.
Roman: Mind if I wait with you?
Doctor: Not at all.
Marlena: Oh, Sami. Every time you changed the blood-test results, you got caught. You know why? Because you were not a doctor. And you didn't know how to get away with it. [Sighs]
John: You really think you're smarter than me, blondie? Okay. I'll let you think that. Perfect way to play you for a lovesick fool. [Laughs]
Marlena: John, much as I would hate to do it, one false move, and I will take you down. And once you're down... then I'll use... these... to control your every... move.
Ethan: I'm Ethan Blaine.
Tony: And I should know or care because?
Ethan: I work for the company you bought. I just got the memo today that you're the new owner. I was gonna grab a quick bite and then see if I could find you.
Ethan: To see if there was anything I could do. I'm kind of the go-to guy of the company. I'm hoping to be more one day. I like to think I'm on a fast-track to an executive office, but I know that...
Tony: I really admire ambition, but manic energy just gets me a little uncomfortable, so can you dial it down a bit?
Ethan: Yes, sir. Is there anything I can do?
Tony: Yes, you can prepare a portfolio of all current accounts. Have it on my desk tomorrow morning.
Ethan: It's already here, sir, along with financial statements of the last five years, copies of our tax returns, payroll, tear sheets of all of our print adds...
Caroline: Where's Tony?
Anna: [Sighs] Hopefully freezing his as...pirations off.
Caroline: Whew. What did he do?
Anna: What he didn't do is propose to me.
Caroline: You were expecting him to? Anna, I have known you for a long time, and you have never let yourself be defined by the man you're with.
Anna: And I'm not about to start now. Let that damn advertising company he bought keep him warm at night.
Caroline: Advertising comp-- there were two men in here the other night in the ad business. Off and on, all they talked about was looking for a new account executive. Why don't you go after that job? If you get it, you can give Tony some honest competition.
Anna: [Gasps] Do you remember the name of the company?
Caroline: Yeah, I do. I do. Uh...
Bo: What's going on, Abe?
Abe: Well, pending the results of your physical, Hope Brady, you are hereby reinstated as an officer on the Salem Police Department. I knew you were leaving, so I called the mayor and had him push it through.
Hope: Abe, thank you! Thank you so much!
Abe: Okay, but I have a few things I have to talk to the two of you about.
John: About time you got back.
Marlena: I had something to take care of.
John: You all done? Good. Now, how are you gonna get me out of here?
Marlena: Well, getting you out of here is no problem. Getting you out of the country is tougher. But I have an idea.
John: What's that?
Marlena: You don't remember this, but you're a very wealthy man. You have your own private jet. So, I've called the pilot. I'm gonna get that plane ready for us.
John: [Chuckles] He's gonna have to file a flight plan.
Marlena: Wow. Funny what you've forgotten and funny what you remember. We will take off with a flight plan. We will change it once we're in the air. Our passenger list will be one person short.
John: Can you pull this off?
Marlena: Oh, I can.
John: All right. First thing's first -- how do you get me out of here and onto that jet?
John: Where'd you get that?
Marlena: That is my secret. There you go. Now... I want you to change into these. We are gonna walk right out of here.
John: I am becoming more and more impressed.
Marlena: Hurry up.
Carla: I'm here to check on Mr. Black and take his vitals.
Marlena: He's been taken downstairs for testing.
Carla: Well, that's not in his chart.
Marlena: Well, it should be, unless someone forgot to write it in. I always knew you were lazy. I didn't know you were incompetent. You're lucky I don't turn you in.
Carla: I'm sorry, Dr. Evans.
Marlena: One more thing. Dr. Carrington, it's Dr. Evans. Look, I just lost my temper with Carla, and I wish you'd apologize for me and, I don't know, give her a week off with pay. Great. Thanks.
John: You are so nice.
Marlena: I'm not so nice. Let's go before anybody discovers we're missing. Come on.
Roman: DiMera's blood work? Well? Was there anything suspicious in his system?
Abe: Now, the two of you have no jurisdiction over there. You may liaison with the local police and work with Interpol. No hotdogging. And no going off on your own.
Bo: Okay, okay. We got it.
Abe: All right, then, go bring back your granddaughter and John's son.
Bo: We will.
Abe: Keep me posted, Detectives Brady.
Bo: Yes, sir. Mmm.
Kayla: Let me see.
Steve: You didn't have to do this. Ow!
Kayla: And you didn't have to do whatever it is you did to get this. You're lucky your hand isn't broken. I am so worried about you.
Steve: Don't be worried about me, sweetness. We both need to focus on Stephanie right now.
Kayla: I don't want anything else to hurt our family.
Steve: I won't let it.
Kayla: Neither will I.
Lexie: [Sighs] I've been approved as chief of staff. I've got to tell Abe.
Nurse: I'm sorry, Dr. Carver. Your father was admitted earlier with a possible stroke. He's in the ICU.
Lexie: Uh...o-o-okay. Yeah, okay. Thanks.
Tony: Anna, I really need to know what's going on with you.
Anna: Well, all you really need to know is that you and I are through.
Tony: You're breaking up with me?
Tony: Would you like to talk about this, please?
Tony: I still don't know what I did to upset you.
Anna: Well, then, let me clarify. I am not a woman to be trifled with!
Tony: When did I ever trifle?
Bo: You ready there, Detective Fancy Face?
Hope: Detective Fancy Face? Don't ever call me that again.
Bo: Okay, okay. I promise.
Hope: It's so good to be back.
Bo: Yeah. Come on. Let's go find Claire and Brady.
John: That was a nice escape. No one even looked at us twice. What, are you nervous?
Marlena: Yeah, we have a lot riding on this.
John: Yes, there is.
Marlena: John, we can't fail.
John: The word is not in my vocabulary.
Marlena: That's kind of what worries me. Hi, it's Dr. Evans. Yeah, we have a slight change. We're going to, uh, refile our flight plan once we get on board. We will be heading for Ireland. Thank you. Okay, all done. Are you ready?
John: You already know the answer to that.
Lexie: How is he? What happened?
Doctor: Sudden, massive stroke. Prognosis doesn't look good.
Lexie: How did it happen?
Doctor: We don't know. All of his tests came back negative -- MRI, CAT scan, full blood work up. None of them show anything.
Roman: Sorry, Lexie.
Lexie: Thanks. Well, at least he isn't suffering.
Stefano: [Thinking] Help me, Alexandra. Help me!
Marlena: Maybe they're around back.
John: Stay here. I'll have a look.
Marlena: No, you're not getting out of my sight.
Stephanie: Ford probably learned it from you. How many women have you raped, Mr. Decker?
Belle: Shawn, I love you, and I want to build a life with you and Claire and any other kids we might have.
