Lucas: Son of -- aah!
Stefano: Don't worry, Lucas. They made sure that we could not kill each other. Huh? At least while we're in here. Of course I don't expect to be in here very long, but if I were you, I would get used to living in a cage.
Sami: Aunt Hope, is there any word on Claire?
Hope: No, no, I'm afraid not.
Sami: Shawn must be going crazy.
Hope: Yeah. Yeah, you could say that.
Sami: I just can't imagine. If someone took the twins, I would go insane. And I don't understand why this is happening to us. I did everything that I could to try to protect our family, and it just wasn't enough.
Hope: It's not your fault. Honey, none of this is your fault. We're all worried about you, too. It's hard enough handling one newborn, let alone two, especially with everything else that you're going through.
Sami: It's okay. I'm managing, you know. I'm not alone.
Bo: Junior, thanks for meeting with me. Belle and Claire have been kidnapped. Belle managed to get away. The kidnappers still have Claire.
E.J.: You think my father had something to do with this?
Bo: Actually, I don't think your old man had anything to do with it. Not directly, anyway.
E.J.: What do you mean by that?
Bo: The storefront that the kidnappers used as a base...was rented by a C.B. DiMera. Do you happen to know that person?
E.J.: Never heard of them.
Bo: Okay. Do you recognize either of these people?
Bo: Mind taking a closer look?
E.J.: Sure. These are the suspected kidnappers?
E.J.: I don't know them. As far as I'm aware, they have no connections to my father. Look, about this, um... C.B. DiMera.
Bo: Yeah, I'm thinking that somebody just used that name to implicate your family.
E.J.: Yeah. We're pretty much the prime suspects whenever anything happens to a Brady.
Bo: More often than not, you guys are guilty.
E.J.: See, to me, Bo, it looks like somebody's deliberately trying to make us look guilty and send you guys running in the wrong direction.
Bo: That's exactly what I'm thinking.
E.J.: Anything else?
Bo: Yeah, as a matter of fact, there is. I know it was difficult to turn your father in. I was just wondering if you had a change of heart and wanted to protect Stefano.
E.J.: No. I made my decision. I'll live with it, and I guess I'll live with the consequences.
Bo: Maybe. There is another possibility. That turning over Stefano, John's return, maybe even these kidnappings was just a smoke screen for something bigger. It's exactly the kind of thing your old man would do.
Belle: This can't be happening. She can't be missing. You told me she was at home.
Philip: I didn't want to upset you.
Belle: I need to go find her.
Philip: No, everybody's doing everything they can. They'll find her, and nobody's gonna stop searching until they do. Lay down.
Belle: How did it happen?
Philip: You don't remember?
Belle: I-I -- I remember throwing coffee in Crystal's face, and then I-I got Claire and I jumped out of the van, and I just ran. And then I...I saw Bo, and he had a gun, and you and Shawn were there. And I don't remember anything after that. It's just a blur.
Philip: The police are handling it, okay? You need to rest.
Belle: This is my little girl. Tell me what happened. I need to know.
Philip: All right. That guy grabbed Claire and knocked you into the water. I dove in after you.
Belle: Why didn't you go after her? You could have saved her!
Philip: Shawn went after Claire.
Belle: The two of you could have saved her. You should have gone with him.
Philip: I trusted Shawn would get Claire. I had to save you.
John: So, you want me to go with you to see our daughter.
Marlena: I know you don't remember her.
John: I don't remember her any more than I remember you. Actually, I don't have any reason to believe a word you say. All you do is show me a photograph and you say it's my daughter and granddaughter.
Marlena: They are. Your daughter has been injured, and her daughter, your granddaughter, has been kidnapped. And the John Black that I know would do anything that he could to help and comfort her. You've always been so close. You call her Tink. She's scared, John. Maybe you don't remember her... but you are her father. She really needs you right now.
Hope: Sami, try this, honey. You need to eat. Now tell me -- have you talked to Lucas?
Sami: Not really.
Hope: I know you're very disappointed in him.
Sami: I'm not disappointed. I'm furious. I mean, he shot E.J. without even talking to me about it. He didn't trust me to handle the situation, and then he went behind my back, and now he could be in jail for who knows how long.
Hope: Unless you help him get out.
Sami: Aunt Hope, there is nothing I can say that is going to help him.
Hope: Sami, he loves you. For God's sake, he never would have shot E.J. if he didnít. Now, if you still love him, you will do whatever it takes to get him out of jail, to set him free.
Sami: I just wish he was here with me right now.
Hope: I know, honey.
Sami: With me and the twins and he was the one protecting us. Instead, I'm stuck having to rely on E.J. But it's a good thing he does care. I mean, he's -- he's spending every night patrolling their bedroom.
Hope: "Patrolling their bedroom"? Sami, look at me. Is he living with you now?
Philip: Everything's gonna be okay.
Belle: You should have gone after her with Shawn instead of coming after me.
Philip: I couldn't let you drown.
Belle: Yeah, well, if anything happens to her, I might as well be dead.
Philip: Don't talk like that. The police force is looking for her, and I'm gonna use all my resources to mount a search of my own.
Belle: I have to find her.
Philip: Belle, lie down. Lie down. [Monitor beeping]
Belle: I'm gonna find her myself!
Philip: I need some help in here! I need some help in here!
John: Look...Doc... I wish I cared, but I donít. I don't remember this family you keep shoving down my throat. Now, if your daughter's hurting, I'm sorry about that, but you should be the one to see her. I don't see how my being there is gonna make any kind of a difference.
Marlena: She's our daughter. And I told you, the two of you were very close.
John: You really trust me with her?
Marlena: Of course I do. I know you.
John: Do you? Cops don't trust me. Doctors want to keep me drugged up. You just said that if I went along with you, you would...get me out of these.
Marlena: I'll see what I can do.
John: Well, let's get to it, then. The smart money is riding on the fact that, that officer outside the door there isn't about to let me go anywhere.
Marlena: Well, we'll see what happens.
Nurse: I'm sorry, Dr. Evans, but I'm under strict orders from Commissioner Brady not to let the patient leave the room.
Marlena: Tim, call him and tell him I want to take John to see our daughter.
Nurse: All right.
Marlena: Okay. There's a call into the commissioner, then we'll see what he has to say.
John: I just hope you carry as much weight with the police as you think you do.
Nurse: Dr. Evans, Commissioner Brady -- he says he's sorry, but his orders still stand. Mr. Black isn't to leave the room.
Stefano: Stop staring, Lucas. Didn't anyone ever tell you that it's rude?
Lucas: I just want to remember what you look like sitting there shackled in a cage.
Stefano: Well, it's only a temporary situation, a little amusement for the Salem Police, and from what I can gather, a little amusement for you, as well.
Lucas: Mm-hmm, little bit. I'll laugh out loud if the charges stick. What do they got you in for, huh?
Stefano: Kidnapping and unlawful detainment. Neither one is remotely true.
Lucas: I heard John's back from the dead. What happened? What did you do to him this time, huh?
Stefano: What makes you think that I did anything outside of reunite him with his family?
Lucas: Because you're nuts. That's why.
Stefano: "Nuts"? [Laughs] "Nuts." Well, that remains to be proven, Lucas. And, of course, you are entitled to your opinion.
E.J.: Bo, turning on my father was not part of some great conspiracy theory so that I could get you guys to trust me. I did it for myself. And I did it because I wanted to prove something to Samantha and to myself.
Bo: That you're not your father's son?
E.J.: Something like that, yes. Was there anything else?
Bo: Yes...there is. Take a look at this symbol. Does it mean anything to the DiMera family?
E.J.: No. Who are these people?
Bo: We're only interested in the symbol.
E.J.: The only symbol that means anything to DiMeras is the Phoenix.
Bo: All right, thank you. [Cellphone ringing] Excuse me. Brady.
Roman: Bo, it's Roman. They found something by the abandoned van.
Bo: Okay, I'm on my way. Thanks. [Telephone rings]
Roman: Commissioner Brady.
Marlena: Roman, why won't you let me take John to see Belle?
Roman: Because it's too dangerous, his room is secure, and he may be vulnerable anywhere else. I mean, you know that we think Stefano's gonna try to get him again.
Marlena: I know you want to keep him safe, but Belle needs him. You can take whatever security precautions you'd like.
Roman: Doc, I just don't want to take the risk.
Marlena: Belle almost died tonight, her daughter's been kidnapped, and she doesn't even know her father's alive. And I just know that if she could see him, it would give her back her will to fight.
Roman: [Sighs] All right. All right, all right, fine. I know better than to argue with you. But the guard goes with him and the cuffs stay on.
Marlena: Seeing him like that will only confuse and upset her.
Roman: [Sighs] Well, as much as I hate to admit it, you got a point. Okay, I'll tell you what -- we will fit him with an ankle monitor. Put the guard on so I can give him his orders.
Marlena: Thank you. Uh, Tim.
John: Well? You pulled it off? Didn't expect that.
Marlena: There are some conditions for your own safety.
John: Well, of course. That's what everybody's been telling me -- this is all for... my own good.
Marlena: We'll talk about that later. Now let's get you to ICU to see your daughter.
Nurse: Comfortable? She needs to stay calm and under no circumstances is she to get out of bed.
Philip: I'll make sure of it. What were you thinking?
Belle: I need to get out of here. I need to help find her.
Philip: You're not going anywhere, Belle. You need to rest, take care of yourself so you can take care of her when she gets back.
Belle: What if they don't find her?
Philip: They will find her, Belle. And when they do, you two will never be apart.
Lucas: What the hell? What the hell is this?
Stefano: My dinner. Ah, thank you. Ahh! Ha ha.
Lucas: You get to eat that and I have to eat this -- this sewage?
Stefano: Rats eat sewage. My lawyer arranged for a menu to be prescribed by my doctor. And I must say, it looks wonderful. Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm. It is absolutely delicious. You know, I would offer you some, but only if I thought it might be poisoned. Mmm.
Lucas: This is ridiculous. Guard!
Lucas: Hey, guard!
Guard: What is it?
Lucas: What's going on, man? I'm not gonna sit here and watch him eat this gourmet food.
Guard: I can let you out to exercise in one of the interrogation rooms.
Lucas: Fine, I don't care. Anything beats staying in here watching this.
Stefano: Mmm. I cannot tell you how excellent this is. Absolutely delicious.
Lucas: I'll bet.
Guard: Hold out your hands.
Stefano: You know, my dear, you have no idea what you are missing. Well [Chuckles] Perhaps you do.
Lucas: Yeah, I do. I've had wild rice before.
Stefano: Mmm, good. Oh, this is really -- I cannot tell you, the taste is absolutely perfect.
Lucas: Enjoy it. Bon appťtit. I hope you choke on it.
Stefano: [Chuckles] Enjoy your workout.
Lucas: Go to hell! Die!
Stefano: Ah, yes. Delizioso, delizioso [Chuckles] Well, my compliments to the chef.
Bo: I know how difficult it was to turn Stefano in.
E.J.: You have no idea. [Cellphone rings] Hello?
Stefano: Hello, Elvis. Have you missed me?
Belle: I just lost my dad. I can't lose Claire, too.
Philip: I told you, Belle. That's not going to happen.
Belle: Will you call my mom? I really need her right now.
Marlena: I'm right here, sweetheart. I'm right here. Oh, baby. Oh, baby, baby. Oh, honey, it's going to be all right. Everything is gonna be all right. I just know it is. Sweetie, I'm so sorry I wasn't here earlier for you. I'm so sorry. Belle...I have some news for you.
Belle: Did they find Claire?
Marlena: No. No, honey, that's not it. But this is something of a miracle.
Belle: And what's that? Oh, my God. No. Daddy? H-how is this happening? Oh, my God. Daddy. I was there. You -- you -- I watched you die.
Marlena: I'll see you in forever.
Belle: I went to your funeral.
Belle: I thought I said goodbye to you at the hospital last night, and then I thought, at the funeral home, "okay, I can do it." But I canít. I just can't bear this, Daddy. We need you. How can you just be here one day and then just be gone? I love you. And I will always love you. And I know that you're always gonna be with me in spirit. [Sobbing] But I just want you to hold me right now.
Belle: You were -- you were dead. Oh, my God. Thank God.
Marlena: Belle, we're not sure how any of this happened.
Belle: I don't care how it happened.
Belle: [Chuckles] I just can't believe this. Here, Dad, sit down. Sit, sit, sit. Tell me everything. Dad.
Marlena: Honey, Dad's a little confused right now. Uh, he's trying to get over whatever Stefano did to him.
Belle: Are you gonna be okay? Dad?
John: I'm fine.
Marlena: Um, uh...Dad needs to get back to his room. I just wanted to make sure that you got a chance to see him.
Belle: I love you so much, Daddy.
Sami: E.J. is helping me keep an eye on the twins. And it's a good thing he is there, because, I swear, I jump out of my skin every time the phone rings, every time someone knocks at the door, I hear a noise in the middle of the night.
Hope: Honey, I'm so sorry. I am so sorry that you live in fear. But once again, I will say that I think it is a huge mistake to put any trust whatsoever in E.J. Honey, you've got to tell your father how you feel. He'll make sure you're protected and the twins are safe. He'll give you a guard 24/7 if that's what it takes.
Sami: I can't talk to my dad. Do you know what he's in the middle of right now?
Hope: Sami, you don't have a choice. If you don't, I will.
Sami: You know, Lucas tried to convince me to take the twins and run. Then I said no. I mean, I made that mistake before, but...maybe he was right. You know, maybe it's time I ask E.J. to just help me put the kids in hiding and disappear.
Hope: Wait. Wait. Run away with Stefano's son? Have you completely lost your mind?
E.J.: Are you out of jail?
Stefano: Do you really care? After all, you are the one who put me in here.
E.J.: Are you out of jail?
E.J.: Then how are you managing to make this call?
Stefano: That is none of your business. So, how are you, Elvis?
E.J.: I'm fine...Father. Now, what do you really want?
Stefano: So it's "Father" when you want an answer. Sons do not turn against their fathers.
E.J.: Is that why you're calling? To threaten me?
Stefano: No. [Clears throat] I have called to tell you that I forgive you. And that I would like to see you.
E.J.: I want to see you, too.
Stefano: Good. I'll send my driver and he'll bring you to me.
E.J.: Well, I'm not at my house.
Stefano: I know.
Stefano: My driver should be there now. Can you see him?
Stefano: Good. Go with him and he will drive you to me.
E.J.: Well, if it's all the same with you, Father, I think I'll just, uh, make my own way there, eh?
Stefano: No, no, no, no, no. Don't be foolish. You go with him now. Damn it! Damn it.
Sami: Sweetie. Listen to me -- the most important thing in the world to me is protecting my children. And I know that E.J. doesn't want them to be hurt, and that's all that matters to me.
Hope: He is cunning...and manipulative. Sami, you need to ask yourself -- do you really feel that you and the twins are in danger? Or is E.J. playing on your fears to get you to trust him?
Sami: I don't know. But what I do know is that horrible things keep happening to our family. Brady has gone missing, and Belle and Claire have been kidnapped. Belle is luckily okay, but we don't know about Claire. The most important thing in the world to me is my children, and if my family doesn't understand that, well, then, that's too damn bad.
Hope: Wow. This may be exactly what E.J. wanted all along -- to isolate you from us, from your family and to make you more dependent on him, the DiMeras. Don't you see it? You're playing right into his trap.
Belle: I just can't believe you're alive.
John: Well, I am. And I'm glad that you're gonna be okay, too...Tink.
Belle: You just don't seem like yourself.
John: Well, I'm not. Like your mother said, I'm still a little out of it.
Belle: Well, you're alive. And that's all that really matters, you know?
Marlena: You know what I think? I think that Dad coming back is like a sign to us, and we're also gonna have Brady come back. And we're gonna have your daughter, and we'll all be together again as a family.
Belle: And wherever they have Brady, Dad, is probably where they're taking Claire. And if anyone can find them, it's you.
John: There's a lot of good people out there looking for them.
Belle: But you're gonna help them, right?
John: I'm a little tired, but I'll be okay. But of course, I will do whatever I can to help find them, Tink.
Marlena: Look, uh, Dad's tired. He needs to get to his room and rest, and I think you should get some rest, too, okay?
John: I'll see you soon.
Belle: What's that thing around your ankle? Is that a monitoring device? Wh-- why are you wearing that? Will someone please tell me what's going on?
Belle: Are you in some kind of trouble? Have you been arrested?
Marlena: No. He has not been arrested. He's -- he's been through a terrible ordeal. He's wearing that device for protection so the police can monitor and find him in case Stefano comes after him again.
Belle: Do you think he'd really try to do that?
Marlena: We all know what Stefano is capable of. Now that we have him back, we want to make sure that he is completely safe.
Belle: Good. Because I don't know what I'd do if I ever lost you again, Dad.
John: You wonít. Like your mother said, this thing is just for my protection. Would you mind if I had a word alone with my daughter before I left?
Marlena: Of course not.
John: Now, I know that you're worried about your little girl and me. I just want you to know that everything's gonna be just fine. And that is a promise...Tink.
Belle: I believe you. I love you so much, Daddy.
Marlena: You know what? I will come back as soon as I get your dad settled in his room.
Belle: Okay. Is he really gonna be okay?
Marlena: With our help and our love, he's gonna be good as new. Oh, baby girl. I'll be back.
John: Well, Doc...was that warm and fuzzy enough for you?
Sami: I have to get the babies home.
Hope: Putting your trust in E.J. is not what's best.
Sami: I don't trust him, okay? I know what E.J. and his family are capable of. But he is Johnny's father, and as far as that goes, he is gonna be a part of my life, and that's it.
Hope: Good. I'm glad to hear that. I'm gonna get you some more soup to take home.
Sami: Thank you. [Sighs] Okay. You ready to go home, sweetie?
E.J.: Excuse me, excuse me. Hey. Samantha, how are you doing? I was worried. I went to your apartment. You weren't there.
Sami: Why were you worried? What's wrong?
E.J.: Nothing's wrong. I just wanted to make sure you were okay. Check on the twins.
Marlena: Tim, are those handcuffs necessary to take him back to his room?
Officer: No, not if he's got the monitor still on.
Marlena: Thank you. And thank you for what you did for Belle today.
John: We had a deal.
Marlena: Do you remember her at all?
John: No. She's a pretty girl. Gets it from her mother.
Sami: Okay, so, what's wrong?
E.J.: Nothing. Everything's okay. Fine.
Sami: No, no. I know you better than that. Stop it. Obviously, you came looking for me for a reason. What is it?
E.J.: Okay, I got a phone call...from my father from jail. And he sent a chauffeur to pick me up. Samantha, I have a funny feeling if I had got into that car...it would have been the last thing that I would have ever have done. Look...I don't know what to do.
Sami: Listen, I have to get the twins back to my apartment.
E.J.: I appreciate that, but we need to talk.
Hope: Did you find Claire?
Bo: No, no, not yet. What the hell is going on here?
Hope: I don't know, but whatever it is, it's not good. He must have slipped in when I was in back getting Sami some soup to take home. Brady, it's not good. She's starting to rely on him more and more.
Sami: Don't you think you're being a little paranoid?
E.J.: No, Samantha, I donít. My father's a really dangerous man. up.
Bo: There's been a development in Claire's kidnapping.
Hope: What is it? Oh, my gosh. This is Claire's medication.
Bo: Yeah, purchased three weeks ago in Canada by Crystal Miller.
Hope: Okay, so now at least we have a last name and evidence that they've been planning this for a while.
Bo: Kidnappers don't get medicine for their victims. This proves that they care about Claire. It's strange, but maybe they are her friends -- her and Belle and Brady -- and feel that kidnapping them and hiding them away some place is keeping them safe from somebody or something.
E.J.: Samantha, look, my father -- my father knew that I was on the pier, okay? So he's obviously having us either watched or followed.
Sami: Okay. Listen, if you were serious about Stefano trying to kill you, then I think it's time to go to the police.
E.J.: That is the last thing to do. That is absolutely not the answer, okay? We need to get the twins and we need to disappear.
Stefano: Yes. Keep your distance, but do not lose them.
Lucas: I'm walking, man. I'm walking. You're gonna rip off my arm.
Stefano: Get this out of here.
Lucas: What's the matter, big guy? Special meal hurt your tummy?
Marlena: Anyway, um, thank you for helping today.
John: Least I could do if you've been telling me the truth.
Marlena: I have. Belle is your daughter. I am your wife. You're going to get your memory back. And we'll be a family again.
John: You seem pretty sure of that.
Marlena: I am.
John: And I'm beginning to believe that you might really be able to help me.
Marlena: Do you mean that you trust me?
John: No reason not to. Do you trust me?
Marlena: With my life.
Steve: Don't tell me you want my body, you get me all revved up, and then you say I can't have you.
Kayla: Oh, you can have me.
Roman: I think you are gonna do whatever Stefano stuffed in that brain of yours. I'm not gonna let it happen.
John: Don't be so sure.
E.J.: He wants Johnny to be Giovanni. That is why we have to hide.
