Chelsea: No. Nick's on his way over, so if you don't mind, make yourself scarce. It's important, okay?
Stephanie: What's going on?
Chelsea: Nothing. I just have to talk to him.
Chelsea: Stephanie... I know what I'm doing.
Stephanie: We said we wouldn't tell anyone.
Chelsea: Nick isn't anybody.
Stephanie: We made a promise to the other girls.
Chelsea: I have to tell him something. He knows that something is going on.
Stephanie: Well, what if one of the other girls told their boyfriend?
Chelsea: You did. Nick's different, okay? He'll protect us. [Doorbell rings] That's him, so go.
Stephanie: Can I at least say hi?
Chelsea: Yeah, but then leave.
Stephanie: You don't have to be so mean.
Nick: Hi, Chelse.
Chelsea: I thought you were coming alone.
Nick: I saw Max at the deli.
Max: Yeah, I had some time to kill, so I thought I'd come bother you.
Chelsea: Oh, this is a private party, Max.
Nick: Oh, dude, I think that's your cue.
Max: You know, if there was a bus right here, you just like threw me right in front of it.
Stephanie: Uh, Max, I could use a little company, if you don't mind hanging out with me.
Hope: Here he is -- future Officer Shawn Douglas Brady heading out for his orientation session at the Police Academy.
Shawn D.: Mom, this isn't my first day of kindergarten.
Hope: Please humor me. Put your hand down.
Shawn D.: Dad, come on.
Hope: Put your hand down. Honey, please. Bo, get in there. Come on. Here's the proud father.
Bo: You bet I am proud, 'cause this young man marks the second generation of Bradyís to join the Salem P.D.
Hope: Shawn, say hi to Claire. I'll put it in her memory box.
Bo: Go on. Just say what you're feeling.
Shawn D.: [Sighs]
Hope: Speak from your heart, honey.
Shawn D.: Daddy loves you, Claire Bear, and he always wants to be your hero.
Bo: Well, there you go.
Hope: So sweet.
Bo: Oh, come on. Let's go grab a doughnut.
Hope: Hey, grab a doughnut for me, please -- a french cruller.
Shawn D.: If there's any left.
Hope: Or the powdered -- maybe the powdered.
Belle: Hey. Thank you for coming right over.
Philip: Not a problem. What's going on?
Belle: I told you this morning my mom's gonna go see that mystery woman, and now she's not answering her phone, so Roman and I are gonna try and find her.
Philip: Be careful. If this is the same woman who tried to grab you and Claire, she's dangerous.
Belle: Roman's not gonna let anything happen to me.
Philip: Do you mind if I take Claire for a while?
Belle: No. Even if she gets tired, will you bring her to my mom's? There's a police officer on duty there.
Philip: Yeah, will do. Do you mind staying with her until Shawn and I can get there?
Philip: No, not a problem, but why isn't Shawn keeping her?
Belle: He's at orientation for the police academy. I have to go find my mom. Bye, sweetie. You be a good girl. Okay. Thank you, Philip.
Philip: Take care. Well, this feels like old times, pumpkin. Maybe together we can help mommy remember what we're all missing.
Carmine: Why don't you stay out of your daddy's business?
Sami: What part of "I want to see my ex-husband" do you not understand?
Officer: Sorry. Visiting hours are over.
Sami: I'm not leaving until I see Lucas.
Officer: Well, I'm sorry, ma'am. It's the rules.
Sami: Come on. Bend them.
E.J.: You're making a mistake. Don't do this. Uhh! Guards! Guards!
Lucas: Guard! Officer!
Sami: That's Lucas. [Indistinct shouting]
Marlena: Stay away from me. I swear, I will shoot you. Stop! [Cellphone ringing]
Crystal: Come on. Pick up.
Shawn D.: Mom, come on. Tell me you're not gonna take that thing to the academy.
Hope: No. Don't be ridiculous. Can I, Brady?
Hope: One more moment, then.
Shawn D.: Come on, Mom.
Hope: You, come on. Bo, come on. Get in there.
Bo: Your mom and I got you this. Go ahead. Open. It's st. Michael, the archangel, patron saint of cops. Your grandma got me and Roman one of those when we joined up.
Shawn D.: Thanks, guys.
Hope: They say he'll look out for you when you're on the job.
Shawn D.: I really appreciate this. I never would have gotten this far if it wasn't for you.
Bo: You're right. You wouldn't have. Be safe, man.
Shawn D.: I will. It's just orientation. I got to go.
Hope: Hey, what about me, the mother?
Shawn D.: Yes, Mother.
Hope: You'll be okay?
Shawn D.: Yeah. It's a whole new year, Mom. I'm not looking back.
Hope: I'm so sorry that I didn't tell you about Belle and Philip.
Shawn D.: It probably wouldn't have changed a thing.
Hope: Honey, I'm your mom. I can't help wanting everything perfect for you.
Shawn D.: Just worry about making things perfect for Ciara. I got to work on building my own life, and I got to go before I'm late.
Hope: I love you, sweetheart.
Shawn D.: Wish me luck.
Bo: You don't need it.
Hope: Make yourself proud.
Bo: [Chuckles] There he goes.
Hope: Oh, my gosh.
Claire: Now some fishes.
Chloe: Hey. Why are we meeting here? This place gives me the creeps.
Philip: The other choice was Marlena's. I didn't think you'd want to risk a run-in with her.
Chloe: Hello, you sweet thing.
Philip: You heard about Shawn and Belle?
Chloe: Yeah. Bad news travels fast.
Philip: That depends on your definition of "bad." That doesn't change our arrangement.
Chloe: You won't back out on me?
Philip: Of course not. We're fighting your extradition. In fact, I'm considering a performance bonus.
Chloe: What for?
Philip: It's possible once Shawn's ego heals he'll forgive Belle.
Chloe: I doubt it.
Philip: I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.
Chloe: Do you really think Shawn would take Belle back?
Philip: Your job is to give him a reason not to.
Marlena: I don't want to hurt you. [Gasps] [Cellphone ringing]
Roman: Doc! Doc!
Marlena: Wait! Wait a minute! Who are you?!
Marlena: Uh, I'm here. Roman, Iím here. [Ringing stops]
Marlena: I'm here.
Belle: Mom! Oh, my gosh! Are you okay?
Marlena: I'm all right, baby. I'm okay. I'm okay. Oh, goodness. Roman, this strange thing happened. There was a man here. He was wearing a ski mask. He didn't say a word, but he had a knife.
Roman: Where'd he go?
Marlena: He just ran away, but he didn't hurt me. He helped me. He fixed my wiper with his knife.
Roman: He just came out of nowhere?
Marlena: Yeah, like the two of you did.
Roman: Belle was concerned when you went to meet the woman.
Marlena: Oh, my gosh. Crystal -- I'm late. I've got to get there to meet her.
Roman: Come ride with me. The siren will come in handy.
Marlena: Oh, good. Okay. Yeah. Okay.
Carmine: Watch your back -- both of you.
Officer: All right. Let's go.
Carmine: They started it.
Officer: Enough out of you.
Carmine: It was self-defense.
Officer: Come on.
Sami: Lucas, how did that monster get in your jail cell?
Lucas: Ask him.
E.J.: I have no idea.
Lucas: You knew he was here to kill me.
E.J.: Yeah, I did, Lucas, and lucky for you, eh?
Lucas: Yeah, eh, 'cause your old man sent him.
Sami: Oh, my God. Stefano is after you already.
Officer: Let's take it upstairs, DiMera.
Lucas: He's just gonna repeat what his father told him to say.
E.J.: I saved your life.
Lucas: Yeah, right. Other way around, pal.
E.J.: All right. You think what you like.
Lucas: Oh, yeah, Stefano's hit man shows up, and then you swoop in? Now you're the hero. Real convenient, isn't it? You're a coward. This is just a play for Sami's trust. You know it.
E.J.: This isn't some stunt, Lucas. And if your idea of courage is shooting another man in the back and then lying to your wife for weeks, well, congratulations. You're a braver man than me. Get me out of here, please.
Lucas: Thank you. Happy Trails.
Stephanie: I'm so happy to be in this room now. I mean, I was shocked when Cordy asked me to trade, but I jumped at the chance to be with Chelsea. Plus, this room is a lot bigger. Can I get you something to drink?
Max: [Chuckles] You can't stay still for two seconds, can you?
Stephanie: Okay. Fine. I'm sitting.
Max: [Clears throat]
Stephanie: Are my two seconds up?
Max: Talk to me, Steph.
Stephanie: About what?
Max: Anything. Tell me about your classes.
Stephanie: Okay. Um... I like economics more than I thought.
Max: It's good. Short and to the point. It's okay. We're off to a great start.
Stephanie: We can't pretend our lives are normal.
Max: What is "normal," huh? Steph, something's been wrong with you for a while now.
Stephanie: I'm handling it, okay?
Max: No, you're not. Even before Ford's accident, you've been different.
Stephanie: I don't even know where to start.
Max: Wherever you want. Tell me what's wrong.
Stephanie: It started with you dating Morgan. I hated it.
Max: Yeah, I noticed.
Stephanie: I saw you guys making out one night, and it got to me, but, I mean, I had no right to be jealous after what I pulled with Jeremy.
Max: Is that the night you took off?
Stephanie: And went looking for a party. I thought if I found someone new...that I'd be able to handle you and Morgan.
Max: Hmm. Did you? Did you find someone else? Okay. Uh... do I know him?
Stephanie: It was Ford.
Nick: Can't we talk later?
Chelsea: No. Look, this is important.
Nick: So is this. So are you.
Chelsea: Look, this -- this isn't why I invited you over.
Nick: Well, then, why ditch Max?
Chelsea: Because it's important and we need to talk.
Chelsea: Okay. [Sniffles] [Exhales deeply] We promised that we wouldn't keep any more secrets, right?
Nick: Are you breaking up with me?
Chelsea: No. No. I love you.
Nick: I love you, too. Whatever it is, we can handle it.
Chelsea: I knew you'd feel that way... which is why... I have to tell you... what actually happened the night that Ford Decker disappeared.
Bo: To Shawn.
Hope: To our family. You looked awfully proud giving him that medal.
Bo: That's 'cause I am.
Hope: You know what, Brady?
Hope: He's going to make a tremendous cop.
Bo: Yeah. He's had some rough times. It's made him into a tough man, so he is gonna be a great cop.
Hope: I want him to find a woman who will fight for him.
Bo: Maybe he already has.
Bo: I'm just saying it ain't over till it's over. If he can forgive her, can you?
Hope: Are you kidding? If they could end up as happy as you and I... I'd be their biggest supporter.
Bo: You know what would make me happy?
Hope: I do. What? What? What?
Bo: Happy at this moment -- another one of these.
Crystal: Marlena never showed up. I can't wait any longer. I'll keep trying to reach her.
Bo: I'm gonna get another one of these.
Hope: I'm gonna get a refill of hot water with my tea.
Crystal: Marlena sounded eager to see me. I don't know what happened. I'll call you when I talk to her.
Hope: Uh, e-excuse me. I-I heard you mention a name. Marlena Evans? Wait a second. I saw you New Year's Eve outside of Chez Rouge. You're that psychic that Marlena met, aren't you?
Crystal: I'm an acquaintance of Marlena's.
Hope: Why did you tell her that John's alive?
Crystal: Give Marlena a message. Tell her she needs to be extremely careful. She's in danger.
Dr. Rolf: Well, he was here. The man is a powerful specimen.
Stefano: More powerful than your drugs?
Dr. Rolf: I gave him the Maximum dosage. He should be in a passive state.
Stefano: He is not passive. He is reckless. You are failing me here, Rolf.
Dr. Rolf: I've kept him alive for you.
Stefano: To do what? To smoke cigars? I need a faithful servant -- someone who will do my bidding without question. All right. Look. You have one more chance to mold this man into the soldier that I need.
Dr. Rolf: I will not fail you.
Stefano: Because if he is useless to me, then what good are you, Rolf?
Lucas: You never said what you were doing here.
Sami: I talked to Will.
Lucas: Is he okay?
Sami: When were you gonna tell me?
Lucas: When was I gonna tell you what?
Sami: I can't believe that you told him what you had done. He is a child. He should not have this on his shoulders.
Lucas: I didn't tell him. He figured it out himself. He wanted me to be straight with him.
Sami: He is your son, not your buddy.
Lucas: I'm not gonna lie anymore, not to the people I love.
Sami: It's a little bit late for that. So, what, you just had him shipped off?
Lucas: No. He wanted to go. I told him if things got bad, I would confess. I'd pay the consequences.
Sami: What about Allie and Johnny? How were you gonna explain it to them -- in our weekly visits to the State Pen?
Lucas: Don't try to make me feel worse, because I can't feel any worse.
Sami: Oh, really? 'Cause you're gonna -- when you're trying to be a father to them, through weekly letters and trying to touch their hand through a glass barrier.
Lucas: I did not fail Will, and I will not fail our twins.
Sami: You already have.
Bo: Are you sure it's the same woman?
Hope: She was talking about Marlena. She said she was in danger.
Bo: What kind of danger?
Hope: I don't know. [Cellphone rings]
Bo: It's the station. Hold on a second. Brady.
Abe: Hey, Bo, it's Abe. Look, we've had an incident down here. The guy in with Lucas was a plant. It seems like Stefano sent him in to retaliate for E.J.'s shooting.
Bo: Is Lucas okay?
Abe: Yeah. Believe it or not, E.J. was in the cell and he saved Lucas' life. I'll fill you in with everything when I see you.
Bo: I'm on my way.
Hope: What's wrong?
Bo: Stefano sent someone after Lucas.
Hope: Oh, my God. Is he all right?
Bo: Yeah, he is. Apparently, E.J. stopped the hit. Lucas is a target as long as he's in that jail. I got to get down there.
Hope: Be careful.
Bo: I love you.
Hope: I love you, too. Drive safely.
Bo: I will.
Sami: We can't fix this.
Lucas: I'm not the one who put our kids in the middle of the DiMera/Brady feud.
Sami: Even married to E.J., I still could have been there for them.
Lucas: You'd be no freer than I am right now. Why can't you see that?
Sami: I guess we're never gonna find out, are we?
Hope: That's all she said -- that your life was in danger.
Belle: What if she's right, Mom?
Roman: Well, for all we know, this woman could be a little crazy. Where's Bo?
Hope: He left for the station. Abe called about an attempt on Lucas' life.
Belle: What? Is he okay?
Hope: Yes. Thank God. E.J. was there. He stopped the attack.
Roman: I'd better get over there. I'll take you home first.
Marlena: I'm going with you.
Belle: Mom, let the police take care of it.
Marlena: This is personal.
Roman: For everybody, Doc.
Marlena: Don't try to talk me out of this. I am no longer playing the victim. Come on. Let's go.
Nick: I care about you, Chelsea. I don't really care if Ford Decker ever comes back.
Chelsea: Well, he's not coming back.
Nick: How do you know? The last time you saw him, he showed up here drunk.
Chelsea: He didn't show up here drunk, Nick. We invited him over.
Max: He invited you up to his room?
Stephanie: Yeah. Dumb, right? But I was mad and lonely. I thought I could take care of myself.
Max: What happened, Steph? Hey, look at me. Look, we're friends. I mean, no matter what it is, I'm not gonna judge you. What happened the night you were with Ford?
Lucas: Just to set the record straight, I'm the one who pulled that guy off E.J. It wasn't the other way around.
Marlena: Does Sami know what happened?
Lucas: She was right there.
Marlena: I didn't see her upstairs.
Lucas: She thinks this whole thing is my fault -- from start to finish.
Marlena: No, she's upset. She knows that's not true.
Lucas: Try telling Sami that.
Marlena: Don't you worry. I will.
E.J.: I just told you what happened.
Bo: Yeah. Right. You had yourself thrown in jail so you could save Lucas.
Bo: Thank you. Do you have proof that Stefano arranged this attack?
E.J.: No, I don't have proof.
Bo: Why does that not surprise me?
E.J.: Look, Bo, I have done a great deal to hurt your family, for which I'm very sorry. I've drawn a line with my father, and I've said no to violence.
Bo: That's sweet of you... but how does that help me today? Even if I have Lucas transferred, I can't guarantee his safety.
Sami: Look, Uncle Bo, I have to tell you that I am scared for him.
Bo: Yeah, I understand. Abe is calling the D.A. We'll try to cut a deal, have him released.
E.J.: What are you talking about -- "get him released"? You can't be serious.
Bo: Well, yeah, actually I am.
E.J.: Well, that's just great -- the guy shoots me and you just let him wander out.
Bo: You want him alive, you want to save him. What the -- let me tell you something. If your old man sends someone else after Lucas, someone will go after your old man.
E.J.: Well, that's great. That's very smart. Violence -- that's a good way of resolving this. Do you have any idea what my father is going to do when he finds out that I saved Lucas' life? Do you know how betrayed he's going to feel? You think he's out of control now? I'm telling you, you have no idea what he's going to do.
Marlena: I know exactly how Stefano feels.
Roman: Okay, what's the word from the D.A.?
Abe: She agreed to a meeting. She's on her way.
Bo: Do we have a shot at cutting a deal?
Abe: She's not tipping her hand.
Roman: We got to get Lucas out of Stefano's reach. My daughter doesn't need to be a widow with three kids.
Belle: Where's mom?
Sami: Talking to E.J.
Belle: Are you sure that's a good idea?
Sami: No, but the look on mom's face told me not to argue with her.
Belle: How are you?
Sami: Terrible. How are you?
Belle: Pretty much the same.
Sami: Well, I thought of a silver lining for you. At least Shawn is not in jail, so he can still help you with Claire.
Belle: Yeah, he's a good father. So is Lucas.
Sami: I used to think that.
Belle: Sami, he loves you so much, and he loves his kids.
Sami: Then why did he shoot E.J.?
Belle: I don't know. Maybe he couldn't think of another way out.
Sami: Look, I can understand that. What I cannot understand is why he didn't tell me. I mean, why did he keep this huge secret from me after all these years of lecturing me about honesty and how important it was to our relationship? All those times he wouldn't forgive me -- how am I supposed to just forgive him for this?
Roman: Why not, Sami? He's forgiven you a lot of times. I was at the wedding, remember? All that bad stuff that came out -- Lucas handled it like a man.
Sami: Wait a second. That is totally different.
Roman: Why, 'cause you say so? Sami, there are a lot of people, including me, who could be in that jail cell instead of Lucas.
Sami: Well, you're not, are you?
Roman: Cut him a break.
Sami: Dad, I am thinking about our children and what he's putting them through.
Roman: Where are the twins now?
Sami: With Maggie.
Roman: Okay. Good. Good. Why don't you two get out of here for a while? Go across the street to that diner. Relax. Get something to eat.
Belle: No, I'm not gonna leave my mom.
Roman: Don't worry about your mom. Your mom's covered. Go over to that diner, relax, catch up, talk, do what sisters do. Anything happens here, I'll get in touch.
Belle: Okay. Come on. Let's go.
Sami: All right.
Belle: Thanks, Roman.
Roman: All right. Good. Bye.
Nick: Why would you invite a rapist over here?
Chelsea: We told him that we wanted to apologize for the campaign we had going against him. And when he got here, we offered him a drink... but we had spiked it.
Nick: With what?
Chelsea: The same drug that he used.
Stephanie: [Inhales sharply] He slipped something into my drink.
Chelsea: But Ford came prepared. When I had my back turned, he slipped a drug in my drink. He planned to rape me that night.
Nick: Did he hurt you, Chelsea?
Chelsea: No, but... when he figured out what we were doing, he came after me.
Stephanie: My head felt so heavy. He grabbed me... but I was too weak to fight back.
Chelsea: I ran up the stairs, and he came after me. And then I guess the drug that we'd given him finally kicked in. And then he just lost his balance and fell.
Stephanie: I tried to fight him off... but I felt like I was drowning... and everything was in slow motion.
Chelsea: I just sat there staring at his body for the longest time. All those seconds felt like hours.
Stephanie: All I could do was lie there. Ford pressed himself on top of me. He ripped open my dress. He put his hand over my throat so I couldn't scream. [Crying] And then he raped me.
Nick: Okay. What happened after Ford woke up?
Chelsea: He didnít. He was dead.
Abe: You know, I think the three of us should talk strategy.
Roman: It's gonna be a tough sell to the D.A.
Bo: Did the perp talk?
Roman: Carmine swears he was on his own. Lucas said something he didn't like, he went off.
Bo: Yeah, right. [Knock on door]
Abe: Come in. Hello.
Bev: The desk sergeant told me the meeting's in here.
Roman: Thanks for coming on such notice, Bev.
Bev: No problem. I reviewed the file one more time before I left my office.
Bo: Thanks for doing that. We'd like to plead down the charges against Lucas.
Bev: Make your case.
Roman: Lucas was under extreme stress at the time he shot E.J. DiMera.
Bo: Dimera was stalking his wife, Sami, he shot Sami's stepfather, and he was involved in an organ-transplant heist.
Bev: Do you have proof of that?
Abe: No, he doesnít.
Bev: A lot of men chase other men's wives.
Bo: This man is a DiMera.
Bev: Still not a crime. You see, even if Mr. DiMera doesn't press charges against Mr. Horton, I have a statute that says it's illegal to run around and shoot people.
Roman: Lucas is a good man.
Bev: Good men don't resort to murder, Roman.
Bo: There was no murder here. E.J.'s walking around causing trouble.
Abe: Look, can you work with us on this?
Bo: We need all the help we can get. Stefano DiMera sent a man into the holding cell to kill Lucas.
Bev: Is he all right?
Roman: Well, actually, E.J. saved his life.
Bev: Will E.J. give a statement against his father?
Bo: Definitely not.
Bev: Well, then we can't prove it was a DiMera hit. He could say Lucas provoked it.
Roman: Bev, he didnít.
Bev: Then I suggest a private cell, tighter security, and keeping visitors to a minimum.
Bo: That's not the answer we're looking for here.
Bev: It's the best I've got.
Bo: Come on. Lucas deserves a second chance.
Bev: With all due respect, Bo, save it for court. He'll need all the character witnesses he can get.
Bo: So he stays in jail?
Bev: My guess is for a very long time.
E.J.: You know, I just saved your son-in-law's life.
Marlena: Did Stefano send you here to impress Sami?
E.J.: My father knows I'm not gonna carry on his legacy.
E.J.: Really. My son's not growing up to be afraid of me, the way I'm afraid of my dad.
Marlena: Then why don't you prove it? Why don't you give Roman something that will stick, and we can put Stefano away for good?
Dr. Rolf: [Exhales deeply] I canvassed several blocks. There is no sign of our friend. Certain factors are beyond my control. He is a person, not a machine.
Stefano: You better find him or I'll turn you into a machine.
Dr. Rolf: [Gagging] Help me.
Chelsea: For weeks, I wanted Ford to feel the way that I felt. Ashamed... humiliated, used.
[Crying] He didn't deserve to die.
Nick: Were the other girls here when it happened?
Nick: You're all keeping it a secret?
Chelsea: Yeah. Nick, you were in his dorm room with me. You saw all the evidence.
Nick: What did you do with the body?
Chelsea: We buried it in the basement... but we had to move it. I don't -- I don't know where it is now.
Nick: What do you mean, you don't know where it is now?
Chelsea: Max helped us. He -- he took it out of the basement.
Nick: Max helped? Max who came here with me tonight?
Chelsea: Stephanie called him. We didn't know what to do.
Nick: You call 911. You tell the police the truth. You tell his family what happened. Maybe it's not too late. Call your dad. Maybe he can help.
Nick: Do you know that his parents are on the news every night, begging for information about what happened to their son? His mom looks like she's half dead inside.
Chelsea: Yeah, I know, and I'm sorry for that. We didn't mean to kill him. It was an accident.
Nick: But you did kill him, Chelsea.
Bev: We have the gun and a bullet match through magnetic imaging.
Bo: There are extenuating circumstances.
Bev: Circumstances or excuses?
Abe: Lucas has a good reputation.
Bev: Which any judge will take into consideration.
Roman: Bev, we don't want it to go that far.
Bev: Kate Roberts and Marlena Evans Black are on the street because we worked a deal that a lot of offices would have thrown out.
Bo: And we appreciate that.
Roman: It saved you people a lot of hours of pretrial work.
Abe: And I doubt if they would have gotten much time, if any.
Bev: Don't act like you did me a favor. I'm getting a lot of heat. People are saying the Bradyís are using this department to protect their family.
Roman: Well, if we are, it's for good reason.
Bev: Lucas Horton, with deliberate and intentional malice, tried to kill E.J. DiMera, and that's how he'll be prosecuted. I'm sorry. No deal. [Door opens, closes]
Bo: That went well.
Sami: Oh! Mom. Hey, we brought you some stuff.
Belle: Yeah. Coffee -- black, one sugar.
Sami: Some rolls you like.
Marlena: No, thanks, honey. I'm not hungry right now.
Sami: Okay. Well, um, how did it go with E.J.?
Marlena: He tried to persuade me that he's a new man.
Sami: Did you believe him?
Marlena: I believe what I know Ė what we all know. Lucas is a good man. He's a good husband. He's a good father. He loves you. He put himself at risk to keep you from having a life as a DiMera.
Sami: What kind of life are we gonna have now?
Marlena: Lucas is a member of our family, and we will do all we can to help him.
Chloe: There sure is something about a guy in uniform.
Shawn D.: I just got back from orientation.
Chloe: How'd it go?
Shawn D.: It went good. I got my class schedule, and my textbook's like that thick, but I can't wait to start. You want me to get you something to drink?
Chloe: No, thanks. I just came by to give you a message from Philip.
Shawn D.: What the hell does he want?
Chloe: He's got Claire.
Shawn D.: Why?
Chloe: Belle had to go somewhere, and she asked him to watch her. He said you could pick her up at Marlena's.
Chelsea: Would you have been happier if he raped me instead?
Nick: Of course not.
Chelsea: We didn't kill him. He fell.
Nick: You have his family thinking that he still might show up.
Chelsea: And I feel awful.
Nick: But not awful enough to tell the truth.
Chelsea: Please don't look at me like that.
Nick: A man is dead, Chelsea. I can't be a part of it.
Stephanie: Max, you can go to jail for helping us.
Max: I'm not walking out on you, because Ford hurt you and he's still hurting you.
Stephanie: I ruin everything. I don't want to ruin you.
Max: I can take care of myself, okay? Look, when was the last time you had a good night's sleep?
Stephanie: I don't know. Not since before that night.
Max: Well, get some sleep. Lie down. Come on. Come on. Here. I'm gonna -- I'm gonna stay here with you tonight, you know, and I'll be here when you wake up. Okay?
Crystal: People are starting to get suspicious. I just had words with Bo Brady's wife. We're running out of time. We're gonna have to take Belle and Claire by force.
Bo: Okay. What other angle can we work?
Abe: Well, we can't bypass the district attorney's office.
Roman: Yeah. Well, I'll double the people up down in the tombs and beef up security going in and out.
Marlena: Roman -- Bo. Abe. My girls and I want to know what you're gonna do to keep our family safe.
Bo: Whatever we have to.
Abe: Within the limits of the law.
Marlena: I've lost faith in the law. I want to know what you will do to keep my family safe.
Dr. Rolf: [Gags]
Stefano: Enough. Release him.
Dr. Rolf: [Coughing]
Stefano: Well done, my friend. You have proven that you have a future in the DiMera organization.
Shawn D.: You may have stolen my wife. There's no way that you're gonna steal my daughter, too.
Marlena: All of you, listen to me. I want Stefano arrested, and I won't stop until he is.
Sami: Stefano doesn't care about anyone but himself.
E.J.: As long as my father is alive, no one is safe.
