Philip: Yeah, we got just a few more things to wrap up. Mm-hmm. Okay. Thanks, Tommy. That was my pilot. We're all set for Tulsa.
Belle: Are you excited to find your son?
Philip: I'm all over the place.
Belle: I hope I can help.
Philip: I know you can. Those women at the shelter are a lot more likely to trust you than me.
Belle: Okay, so, I'm Lauren's sister and I'm really worried about her, and do you know where she may have taken my little nephew Tyler?
Philip: Sounds good.
Philip: So, where's Claire -- with Shawn?
Belle: Uh, no. I dropped her off at daycare, but I did tell Mrs. Kaplan that I'd pick her up by 6:00.
Philip: So, it's all good.
Belle: Well, it's...not all good.
Philip: You didn't tell Shawn.
Hope: Hey, sweetie.
Shawn D.: [Chuckles] You know, I bought these at Crighton's Hardware Store about a million years ago.
Hope: I can't believe the garage is going under. You know, your dad warned Max way back on the 4th not to get involved in anything illegal. I guess he just had to learn the hard way, huh?
Shawn D.: Yeah, let's just hope the hard way doesn't include jail time.
Hope: Yeah, from your mouth to God's ears. So, what's next for you?
Shawn D.: I don't know. Guess I'm just gonna have to find a new job.
Hope: Wow. You're taking this awfully well.
Shawn D.: Yeah, well, you got to roll with the punches. Something will come up.
Hope: It must mean a lot to Belle that you're awfully confident about the future, huh?
Shawn D.: You know, I'm gonna go in the garage and get the rest of my tools.
Hope: Shawn... you have told Belle that you're out of work?
Steve: Yeah, well, let me know, buddy. The sooner we roll, the sooner we get the DiMeras out of our lives. All right. Yeah, later.
Kayla: Who was on the phone?
Steve: It was Bo.
Kayla: Is that about his plan to fake Stefano's death?
Steve: Yeah, and lay a trap for André. That's right. Look at this. What did you put on this boy now?
Kayla: It's just an old outfit of Stephanie's.
Steve: You know how this little dude feels about being dressed up like a girl.
Kayla: So, have Roman and Abe given a green light to this plan?
Steve: Bo's pitching it to them right now. As soon as they give the go, we rock and roll.
Kayla: [Sighs] Why do you keep saying, "we"? Why do you need to be a part of the sting operation? Let the police handle it.
Steve: Just relax, sweetness. The police are handling it. Bo is in charge. It's gonna go down smooth as glass.
Kayla: But you have this pocketful of miracles to think about now.
Steve: After what those dirtbags did to Benjy, do you really think I'm gonna sideline this one?
Kayla: All right. Look, I promised Lexie I would go to the hospital and check up on Benjy.
Steve: You better call me if anything's changed.
Kayla: I will.
Steve: Are you gonna drop the Pocket man off with Hope?
Kayla: Well, actually, I was thinking about leaving this little guy with my big guy. [Pocket cries]
Philip: So, Shawn's in the dark about you flying with me to Tulsa.
Belle: Well, I just thought I'd wait till the last minute -- less time to argue.
Philip: I feel really bad about putting you on the spot. If you want to back out --
Belle: No, no, no. I'm sure I can explain it to him so he'll understand. Maybe.
Philip: Belle, you don't know how grateful I am. Your helping me out means a lot.
Belle: Hey, friends show up for friends.
Philip: And this whole thing with Lauren and my kid -- except for you and Billie, it's been a lonely ride.
Belle: Hey. You are not alone, and you never will be, as long as I'm around.
Hope: Don't you think Belle deserves to know about Max losing his garage and you and your job?
Shawn D.: I don't want her to worry about where the next paycheck's coming from.
Hope: Come payday, she's gonna find out.
Shawn D.: Hopefully by then I'll figure something out. I got an idea stirring around, and if it pans out, Belle's gonna have full disclosure.
Hope: Great. How about giving me full disclosure right now?
Shawn D.: All right, it's not just a job. It's totally different. This is a career. It's got great benefits, and I can work my way up the ladder.
Hope: Cool. Sounds great. What is it?
Shawn D.: I want to join the Salem P.D. and be a cop. Come on. What?
Hope: Nothing. Never mind me. Just, honestly, I can't imagine Belle being thrilled about sending you off in a Kevlar vest every day.
Shawn D.: Well, she's gonna get used to it.
Hope: You never get used to it.
Shawn D.: Mom, you're a cop yourself. So is dad. So is Uncle Roman. I guess I just bleed --
Hope: I don't want you to bleed at all. I've already lost one son, Shawn. I won't survive if I lose another.
Steve: Kay, uh, maybe it's the waxy buildup, but did you just say that you're gonna leave the Pocket Man with me?
Kayla: Yeah. You passed basic baby training, and you tied hope in the diaper derby.
Steve: Yeah, but any idiot can change a diaper.
Kayla: Well, there you go. You make my case. You got a diaper in one hand and a bottle in the other.
Steve: There's more to baby care than wiping a heinie, Kayla.
Kayla: Yeah, but you got the "gitchey-goos" and the belly blows down pat.
Steve: Yeah, but you're always around to catch me if I fumble. I've never done kinder care alone.
Kayla: It's okay to be nervous.
Steve: You're not.
Kayla: Are you kidding me? It has been a long time since Stephanie was a baby. I had to completely reboot my mothering skills. Besides, you know, at this age, with Pocket, it's just fbbdn.
Steve: Okay, I'll bite.
Kayla: Feeding, burping, bath time, diaper change, and nap -- not necessarily in that order.
Steve: Yeah, I guess I can handle that.
Kayla: Of course you can do it. There is nothing like on-the-job training.
Steve: Nothing like it. Benjy needs you. You go. The little dude and I will hold down the fort here. No problem.
Kayla: You want me to leave you a list?
Kayla: Okay, well, um, the bottles are in the fridge.
Kayla: And you don't want to microwave them. You just want to warm them under the tap.
Steve: I'm not gonna nuke the kid's milk.
Kayla: And you test it on your wrist. You want to make sure it's not too hot. And the baby will probably fall asleep in the middle of the feeding, and then you just gently lay him down into the crib.
Steve: Got it.
Kayla: Okay. All right. And, uh, if you have any problems at all, you just call me and I'll come straight back.
Steve: Got you on my speed dial. But everything is gonna be cool.
Kayla: Okay. All right. All right, little Pocket guy. You be sweet for your daddy. I mean, your foster daddy.
Steve: You tell Benjy I'm praying for him, okay?
Kayla: I'll do that. You're gonna be great.
Steve: I am.
Kayla: You are. Okay.
Kayla: All right.
Kayla: [Laughs nervously]
Steve: [Chuckles] [Sighs] Hey, little dude. [Laughs] Yeah, we don't need those girly girls, do we? Don't need them taking care of us, 'cause we're manly men. Besides, how much trouble can 10 pounds of baby be, anyway? Give me one. [Pocket crying] [Laughs] Oh, come on. It's all right.
[Knock on door]
Lexie: Hi, Kayla.
Kayla: Hi. Look at that Benjy. He looks the same as the day he came to me and Steve.
Lexie: I wish it was me in this bed instead of my brother.
Kayla: And then he'd be sitting right where you are, wishing the same thing.
Lexie: If only I'd volunteered when Stefano asked for a donor.
Kayla: Oh, Lexie, come on. You cannot blame yourself for what happened to Benjy.
Lexie: I... I-I do anyway. Look, I want the best care possible for Benjy, and, in my book, it's you.
Kayla: Believe me, I'm gonna do everything I can to help him.
Lexie: It's just times like this I wish I was still a practicing physician. I just -- I just feel so helpless. Hold on, Benjy. Wake up, sweetheart.
Kayla: You know what? I'm going to use your expertise, and the two of us are gonna get him well and back to his wife and baby.
Lexie: Yeah. Well, you know, he's already had one miracle -- meeting you and Steve all those years ago. You know, you didn't have him for long, but you gave him what he needed most -- security, love. You and Steve made him the wonderful person that he is today.
Kayla: He made it easy.
Lexie: I'm sure it's gonna be the same with you and this little foster baby, Pocket. You know, really, you give him a stable home, caring parents -- he can't help but shine.
Kayla: We hope so. If he can just make it through the first day of daddy daycare. [Pocket crying]
Steve: Here you go. Come on. Oh. [Crying continues] [Harmonica plays] [Sniffs] Good blankey. Good blankey. [Crying continues] [Harmonica plays] [Pocket hiccups] [Crying continues] Whoo-hoo-hoo! Aah! Please, take the binky. Wah! [Harmonica plays, Pocket crying] [Sighs]
[Crying continues] [Spits]
Hope: Shawn... I know you're not my baby anymore. The decisions you make about your life -- they're yours to make. But police work -- honey, my God, please. There are other options.
Shawn D.: Mom, it feels right.
Hope: You've been out of work for, what, 12 hours? Take time. Relax. You have plenty of time.
Shawn D.: When I break the news to Belle, I want to top it with something great, something that's gonna take the sting out of me being out of work.
Hope: I'm glad you're thinking about Belle and how she would feel. But you tell me -- how would she feel? How is she going to feel when she finds out that you're choosing a career that puts your life on the line every day?
Shawn D.: Not every day.
Shawn D.: You know that a lot of police work is about writing tickets.
Hope: The possibility of danger is there all the time.
Shawn D.: Mom, if I was telling you that I wanted to be a test pilot or a bullfighter, I could see your point. But a badge is not a target.
Hope: You tell that to the bad guy who has you cornered in the alley, and you don't have any backup.
Shawn D.: Come on, mom. Be honest. How many times have you put yourself in the line of fire? How many times has dad warned you off about a dangerous case? And how many times have you listened?
Hope: You're not gonna back down, are you?
Shawn D.: No.
Hope: [Sighs] Being a mother, you die... a little bit every day. From the first time you crossed the street by yourself... and marched into that kindergarten class and never glanced back... my God, when you got your driver's license -- I guess all I can do is, um, pray that the lord keeps you safe and my phone never rings.
Shawn D.: So, is this your blessing with a side of guilt?
Hope: You just want me to pave the way with your father. That's what this is all about, isn't it?
Shawn D.: That would be great, but you got to do it as soon as possible. I want to apply to the academy, like, yesterday, before Philip finds out about the garage going under and swoops in on Belle.
Hope: Belle doesn't want anything to do with Philip or his money. She's with you.
Shawn D.: I know, Mom. But he plays on her guilt.
Hope: For running away with Claire?
Shawn D.: And closing the door on him when she found out I was Claire's real father.
Hope: Belle may feel guilty about Philip, but she's loyal to you. That's why she moved out of the mansion and over to the pub with you. That's why she wears your ring. So Philip can throw whatever he wants at her -- money, clothes, tuition for Claire. But you know what the bottom line is, honey? He doesn't stand up to you.
Shawn D.: Yeah, you're right.
Hope: Of course I'm right. I'm right because I'm your mother, and moms know best. So stop holding back, okay? Stop holding back and tell Belle what is going on. Live up to her commitment to you.
Shawn D.: Yeah. Max has been ragging on me to do the same, so maybe I just might.
Hope: Might? No "might." Just do it.
Shawn D.: Okay. Is tonight soon enough?
Shawn D.: Tonight.
Belle: I should get over to Shawn's folks' house and let him know what's happening today.
Philip: You want me to go with?
Belle: No. Unh-unh. Thanks.
Philip: I could make it clear that you're only going with me to help me find my son -- no other agenda. If he's secure with that, he should be down with letting you go.
Belle: I should probably do this by myself. Having you there would just press all his buttons.
Philip: So, I'll pick you up at Bo and Hope's in, say, 45 minutes?
Belle: Yeah. Then we're off to Tulsa to find your little boy.
Philip: Did I remember to thank you?
Belle: About a hundred times.
Philip: Once more won't hurt. I mean it, Belle. You're the best.
Belle: Okay, I'll see you.
[Knock on door]
Shawn D.: Get in here, beautiful.
Belle: [Laughing] Okay. Mmm. Wow. What was that for?
Shawn D.: Just excited to see you -- a happy excited.
Belle: Well, good. I'm, uh, glad I caught you before you went to the garage.
Shawn D.: I got time.
Belle: Where's Hope?
Shawn D.: She stepped out. Ciara's upstairs taking a nap. I told her I'd stick around.
Belle: That was sweet of you.
Shawn D.: Yeah, it was a good trade. She said she's gonna watch Claire for us tonight.
Belle: Tonight? Did we have something planned?
Shawn D.: We do now. I'm taking my beautiful fiancé out to dinner.
Belle: What's the occasion?
Shawn D.: Our dreams and plans for our future.
Belle: That's wonderful. But, um, maybe we could do it another night, 'cause I don't know that I'll be back in time.
Shawn D.: Back from where?
Belle: Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Hope: Steve? Steve, you in there? It's Hope. Hi.
Steve: Thanks for getting here so fast. I've tried everything. He hasn't stopped crying for more than two minutes at a time.
Hope: So I see. What is it? What's wrong, sweetheart? Poopy diaper?
Steve: We both know that's strong stuff, that yellow poop.
Hope: Maybe he's fussy 'cause he's really tired.
Steve: He had a long nap just before Kayla left.
Hope: Fever, colic, diaper rash?
Steve: Nope, nope, and nope. I checked all that out.
Hope: Did you remember to burp him after his last bottle? Steve.
Hope: Steve, when was the last time you fed him?
Steve: Um, maybe a few hours ago?
Hope: Steve, he's starving. That's what's wrong with him. He's hungry.
Hope: No, Steve. Don't be so hard on yourself. It's been a while for you.
Steve: Hey, little buddy. I'll be right back.
Hope: I know, sweetheart. He's coming back with your bottle. It's tough, isn't it, being the new guy on the block? Don't worry. We'll teach dad a few things. Shh.
Lexie: Daddy daycare? Kayla, you're joking.
Kayla: Well, I hope so. I left the baby with Steve for the first time.
Kayla: He said he was okay, but I don't know. He seemed a bit edgy.
Lexie: I remember leaving Isaac with Abe for the first time.
Kayla: What happened?
Lexie: Nothing. Nothing. I was just so nervous. I hid on the side of the house, and I watched him through the window.
Kayla: You didn't. But Abe was okay, right?
Lexie: Yeah. Oh, yeah. He was perfect. [Sighs] I wish I had movies.
Kayla: [Sighs] I don't know what to say. It must have been so difficult for you to adopt Isaac, fall in love with him, and then to find out that Bo and Hope are his biological parents and have to give him up.
Lexie: Yeah, it was pretty horrible. But, I mean, nothing like having him die so needlessly.
Kayla: Every mother's worst nightmare.
Lexie: Yeah. Uh, look, um, I am sure that things are going to work out just fine for the three of you.
Kayla: Well, even if they don't, I think that it's good that Pocket is with Steve, you know? I-I-it lets him know that he really could be a great daddy.
Lexie: Well, Benjy could tell him that. My goodness, he's always talking to me about what a wonderful father Steve is.
Kayla: Well, Steve always said that Benjy was a blessing. He still is.
Lexie: Do you know that he still talks about the night you and Steve took him in?
Kayla: It was on our honeymoon, and we found this scared little boy in the street.
Lexie: Benjy said it was the first time in his life he ever felt safe and that it was Steve who made him feel that way.
Shawn D.: You're going to Tulsa.
Belle: I'm gonna leave in about an hour.
Shawn D.: What's in Tulsa?
Belle: Lauren Chaffee. They spotted her in a women's shelter there.
Shawn D.: So you're going with Philip.
Belle: Philip's not gonna get in the front door by himself.
Shawn D.: Why not?
Belle: Because he's a guy. They're gonna think he's some irate boyfriend or husband starting trouble. But they might talk to a woman. They might see me as nonthreatening.
Shawn D.: Okay, well, what about his sister, Billie?
Belle: Well, he asked her, but she's setting up the security system at the university before the start of the fall semester.
Shawn D.: What about Kate? What about Chelsea? Why does it have to be you?
Nurse: Anything else I can do for you, Dr. Johnson?
Kayla: No. I think that's good. We'll ring if we need anything else. Thanks. Well, there's the new course of antibiotics, the cocktail that's worked for other patients at risk for infection or blood poisoning. Dr. Westin approved it.
Lexie: Good call. His temp is spiking.
Kayla: Yeah. His B.P. is up, and so is his heart rate.
Lexie: I'm just so afraid that he doesn't have the strength to fight this.
Kayla: I don't believe that, Lexie, and I don't think you do, either. There is no way that we are gonna let this innocent, strong man slip away while his evil, guilty father is practically across the hall getting stronger every day.
Lexie: Well, the Phoenix rises again.
Kayla: Stefano is no Phoenix. He is one step away from being a grave robber, only his victims are alive. Stealing John's kidney, taking a piece of Benjy's liver -- he's rebuilding himself body part by body part like he's some kind of Frankenstein, just so that his reign of terror can continue.
Lexie: I know. I know. And to think that Benjy and I have even a drop of his blood in our veins just [Shudders]
Kayla: Do you remember the oath that we took when we first became doctors?
Lexie: Yeah. "First do no harm."
Kayla: This is the second time that Stefano has made me want to break it. I could have pulled the plug on him in Tuscany. If I'd had the nerve, Benjy wouldn't be fighting for his life right now.
Lexie: Kayla, don't go there, okay?
Kayla: I'm already there. But I'm telling you right now, I'm going to make another oath, and this is what it is. If, God forbid, Benjy doesn't make it, I promise you that Stefano will be next. He's your father. I'm sorry.
Lexie: No, no. Don't be. I feel the same way. You know, that man, my father, has taken so much from all of us.
Kayla: He's taken years away from Steve, years that he will never get back, that we will never get back. He's just starting to relax back into life. I just want it to last.
Steve: Aw. I'm sorry I missed your bottle, buddy.
Hope: Babies have tiny tummies. They need regular fill-ups, don't you?
Steve: You hear that, Pocket Man? You need regular fill-ups. [Smooches] How many burps to the gallon do you think he gets, Hope?
Hope: [Laughs] As many as you can get out of him.
Steve: Let's see.
Hope: I still haven't heard how you two ended up fostering this little guy.
Steve: Oh, I think, um... he just followed Kayla home from the hospital. She took one look at those big, brown eyes, and it was love at first sight. Yes, it was.
Hope: Still no word on his real name or who his parents are?
Steve: No. I don't think Kayla's in any big hurry to find out, either.
Hope: It's no wonder. Look at him -- as cute as a button. I suppose you're the one who came up with his name, right?
Steve: No, that was Kayla. I just kind of extended it a little bit. I like to call him "Pocket Man."
Hope: You know, Pocket is a very cute name. It's a name that you grow out of, not into. But imagine when he grows up and he's a big, handsome guy, 6'3" and 250 pounds, huh?
Steve: He's gonna need a regular name then.
Steve: Maybe sonny or wolf or muddy. Yeah. Maybe the name his real parents gave him.
Steve: Hey, little Pocket Man. You'll be out of here as soon as they track them down.
Hope: What if they don't? Are you ready to take on parenthood again?
Lexie: [Sighs] Kayla, why don't you go home?
Kayla: No, I want to wait and see if the new antibiotics take effect.
Lexie: I'll call you if there's any change. Look, I'm sure you're anxious to get home to Steve and the baby.
Kayla: How much trouble can a grown man and an infant get into? Uh, don't answer that, please. What about you? Have you been home at all since Benjy's surgery?
Kayla: Any sleep or anything to eat?
Lexie: Abe and Theo brought me some takeout. I'll have plenty of time to close my eyes once Benjy opens his.
Kayla: Well, I have a great idea. I could cover you for a couple hours. You can go to my office and take a little snooze.
Lexie: I am not leaving my brother's side.
Kayla: You're afraid of Stefano, afraid that he's come to finish Benjy off so he can't identify his attacker.
Lexie: Ever since I was dropped into that pit, I live in fear, Kayla. Even when I'm with Abe, I always have one eye out for André.
Kayla: We Bradys certainly know what that's about. That's why we're doing everything in our power to end this war that Stefano's father has declared against my family.
Lexie: Well, there's no escape for me, Kayla. I'm family, even though they held me prisoner in that pit for six months. And so is Benjy, even though they gutted him like a fish to save our father's life. Santo's demand for revenge has destroyed all our lives. I'm -- I'm terrified for Theo. DiMera blood runs in his veins, too, you know.
Kayla: Where is it written that we have to face a future in fear? We don't need to do that -- not you or your son or the Bradys or our sweet Benjy.
Lexie: Kayla. Benjy.
Hope: Felt good, didn't it, holding that little guy in your arms?
Steve: [Sighs] Kind of gave me a cramp.
Hope: Come on. Admit it, you big dope. You loved it. He's an angel.
Steve: Yeah. An hour ago, he was a Tasmanian Devil.
Hope: Well, it looks to me like you fit the Taz profile better. Who was the bigger baby here?
Steve: You know what? I think it's about a tie. Come on, Hope. You really think I'm cut out for this daddy gig?
Hope: Are you kidding me? 100% absolutely. Look at Benjy. He thinks the world of you.
Steve: Yeah. Well, that was a different time, different place, before all the brain trouble.
Hope: Okay. This is a new time and a new place, but you know what? The old Steve is still around, and the old instincts are still there.
Steve: My first instinct was to dial 911, but the wailing was so loud I couldn't remember the number.
Hope: Answer me this one question, then. If you were so terrified and afraid of babies, why in the world would you ever agree to become a foster parent?
Steve: 'Cause Kayla wanted it.
Hope: Kayla wanted it. And Pocket means nothing to you. You just did all of this for Kayla's sake.
Steve: I'm not saying he isn't cute.
Hope: You'd have to be blind in both eyes to miss that.
Steve: Yeah. What I'm saying is if this was some kind of a test, leaving me alone here today with the baby, I flunked with flying colors.
Hope: Hardly. Steve, seeing you with Pocket in your arms was like -- honestly, it was like watching you with Stephanie all over again.
Steve: What do you know?
Hope: The question is, what do you know? And the answer is a lot more than you give yourself credit for.
Steve: [Laughs] Well, now I remember why I always called you "sweet thing."
Steve: Thanks, pal. [Smooches] Well, ladies and gentlemen, my first solo. What do you think?
Hope: I think we have a lot of cleaning to do.
Steve: I don't clean.
Hope: Neither do I. I have a maid. But I'm gonna help you. You know why? Because I'm your friend. So let's get started. You clean up all the diapers, though.
Steve: Okay, but quietly. The baby's sleeping.
Belle: You want my theory? Listen. If Philip finds his son, he's gonna be a lot less interested in Claire. He'll still love her, but he's for fa .
Shawn D.: Yeah, I'd like to see that in writing.
Shawn D.: Belle, okay, look. You're going to Tulsa with Philip. Fine. Just be careful. [Knock on door]
Shawn D.: Here to pick up your flight buddy?
Philip: That a problem for you?
Belle: No, it's not. Shawn's totally cool with it.
Shawn D.: Yeah. Glad you got a lead on Lauren. I hope you find her and your son.
Philip: Thanks. We better get moving.
Belle: You know what? One sec. I'm gonna go call Mrs. Kaplan at Claire's daycare. I'll be right back.
Shawn D.: Don't think for a second that I don't know what's going on here.
Philip: What's going on is I'm trying to find my son.
Shawn D.: No, you could do that by yourself. What you're trying to do is move in on Belle and take her away from me. And you're gonna use every trick in the book to do it.
Kayla: Hi, sweetie. Where are you? University Hospital. Do you remember what happened?
Lexie: Stefano sent André to attack you. He cut you open, took a section of your liver, and left you for dead in a dumpster.
Kayla: Your liver got infected. It seems that André didn't use sterilized instruments. But, anyway, we have a new antibiotic working here. It seems like you've passed through the crisis. Sonia and the baby are safe. I'm gonna call them right now and tell him that you're safe, too, and tell Steve. He's gonna be very happy. Where is Steve? He's at home with our new little foster son, Pocket. Yeah. He is a lucky boy. I couldn't agree more. Steve's the greatest dad in the world.
Shawn D.: Where the hell do you get off asking Belle to go out of town with you?
Philip: If you'd have been up-front about Lauren Chaffee and those phone calls she made from Indianapolis, my kid would be with me right now.
Shawn D.: That might be true. And if it is, I'm sorry. But you asking Belle to go to Tulsa -- that's all about you making a play to try to get her back.
Philip: Believe what you want.
Shawn D.: Best of luck to you, Philip, 'cause this is the last time that I'm gonna stand by while you get Belle all mixed up in your business.
Belle: Ah. Okay. What -- what did I miss?
Shawn D.: Not much.
Belle: Okay. Well, I won't be gone long.
Shawn D.: Okay. Dinner's at 6:00.
Belle: Okay, I'll be there. Formal or casual?
Shawn D.: Definitely formal.
Belle: [Giggles] Mmm. Bye.
Shawn D.: Bye.
Philip: You know, you giving me a hard time about asking Belle to go to Tulsa with me -- last I looked, she was a free woman. Belle's not your wife. Not yet.
Kayla: Oh, I hope they survived. Okay.
Steve: Hey, sweetness.
Kayla: I'm home.
Steve: How's Benjy?
Kayla: He's awake.
Steve: He's awake?!
Kayla: Yeah, the antibiotics worked, and he's on the mend.
Steve: All right! Oh, man, that's such good news!
Kayla: I know, isn't it?
Steve: [Sighs] I know why he pulled through. It's your tender, loving care that did the job.
Kayla: No, he had the will to survive, just like you did.
Steve: It was your TLC in my case, too. Except the "T" stands for "tough."
Kayla: [Laughs] So, how's the baby?
Steve: Sleeping like one.
Kayla: Did he take his bottle?
Kayla: Really? So, everything's okay.
Steve: Right as rain.
Kayla: [Laughs nervously] Okay, what did you do with my husband?
Steve: If you're talking about that good-looking, one-eyed dude, he's right here.
Kayla: Well, you have come a long way, baby. I mean, look at this place. You know, it is obvious that parenting comes second nature to you.
Steve: I changed Pocket's outfit.
Kayla: Oh, whatever. I'm impressed.
Steve: Wait till you see my second act.
Kayla: You've made me so happy. Do you know that?
Steve: I'm always trying.
Kayla: Well, you're succeeding. And you really went that extra mile to be a good daddy to Pocket. And you know what? I know you did that for me. So, now more than ever, I want us to raise a child together. Because, in my heart, I think part of the reason you came back to me... was that you were meant to be a daddy. So, I'm gonna go check on our little Pocket, and then you can try to impress me all you want. Mmm!
Steve: [Sighs] [Door opens, closes]
Hope: Hey, sweetheart. How's Ciara?
Shawn D.: Still taking a nap. How did everything go at Uncle Steve's?
Hope: Amazing. Unbelievable. Pocket has him wrapped around his sweet little pinky.
Shawn D.: That's great.
Hope: Shawn... honey, is something wrong?
Shawn D.: Belle stopped by.
Hope: You told her about the job situation?
Shawn D.: Didn't really get a chance to get into that -- too busy talking about her day-trip to Tulsa with Philip.
Hope: Long story short?
Shawn D.: Philip conned her into going with him to look for his son.
Hope: And you're not okay with that?
Shawn D.: Philip and Belle off together? He's gonna turn this rescue mission into some kind of romantic interlude.
Hope: Shawn, he can flex all he wants. But you have to trust Belle not to give in. Now, you need to ask yourself deep inside your heart... do you trust Belle, the woman that you're going to marry?
Shawn D.: Of course I do.
Hope: Then the fears, the doubts -- let them all go.
Shawn D.: [Sighs]
Kayla: I could kill him in cold blood 'cause of what he did to you.
Steve: There's a motive. I've got more reason to kill him than anybody.
Bo: I need Stefano here in the hospital. Can you help me with that?
Bo: I'm gonna kill him.
Stefano: I want you, Tony, to carry on the DiMera legacy.
Tony: It would be an honor, Father.
