News Reporter: Police Commissioner Roman Brady was found brutally stabbed by his assailant -- escaped convict André DiMera, who fled the scene. Detective Brady. Detective Brady. [Indistinct talking]
Bo: You want my comment?
Chelsea: Of course it's a beautiful night... because I'm all alone. I hate men. I hate every single one of them. I hate Jett. I hate Nick. And, most of all, I hate myself. [Footsteps approaching] Well, hello.
Jett: Hey, what's up?
Chelsea: You followed me.
Jett: Yeah, I did.
Chelsea: Well, you shouldn't have.
Jett: Look, Chelsea, about me and Danielle --
Chelsea: You know what, Jett? You really don't need to explain it to me. I get the picture. Jett's turn-ons -- let's see, um, long walks on the beach, ice-cold beer, and going after women that are already spoken for.
Jett: You got me all wrong. All the craziness this summer -- I'm not leaving here till I set you straight.
Steve: [Sighs] You sure I can't trade this in for a margarita?
Kayla: No, because you are supposed to be on your best behavior for Stephanie and Jeremy.
Steve: Yeah, well, they're late. Tell me when we're having fun.
Kayla: Would you stop it? Come on. You promised our daughter that you would give Jeremy a chance.
Steve: Yeah, now I'm paying for that. All I can do is flash back to that punk with his mitts all over my little girl.
Kayla: I got news for you. She is no one's little girl. So, I want you to try to respect that and play nice.
Steve: You think I can't do nice?
Kayla: I know you can do nice because you have a very big heart. So don't use tonight to give Jeremy the third degree, okay?
Steve: Well, I won't have to, sweetness.
Kayla: Why is that?
Steve: I asked Bo to run a background check on charm boy.
Kayla: You didn't.
Steve: Sure I did. And if he's a wolf in sheep-dip, we're gonna know about it soon enough.
Kayla: I really don't appreciate you getting my brother involved in this.
Steve: He's my brother, too. And he was happy to do it because he's seen how twisted up Maxwell's gotten from working with Jeremy.
Kayla: You know what? You can't use the Salem P.D. to be your private, little watchdog.
Steve: It's just Bo. Roman's got his hands full with Sami and the "dumb"-Meras.
Lucas: You need a drink. This will warm you up.
Sami: Lucas, I'm just so cold.
E.J.: You're probably in shock, Samantha. I still say we need to take her directly to the hospital.
Lucas: Why, so your family can get another shot at my wife? She's safer here as long as you don't open any more briefcases, pal.
Sami: I want my mom.
Lucas: I know. She's on her way. I already brought her up to speed.
Sami: Maybe you could bring me up to speed.
Lucas: All right, well, what do you remember? What's the last thing you remember?
Sami: I just remember E.J. opening that briefcase and gas coming out.
E.J.: It was ether and sulfur chloride. We're lucky that it just knocked us out.
Lucas: Yeah, well, when we came to, you were gone, must have been taken by one of Stefano's goons or Bart or somebody grabbed you just so Stefano could raid our baby's stem cells.
Sami: Thank God he didn't.
E.J.: I think we're all thankful. But there's still one thing that doesn't make any sense.
Lucas: Oh, really? Only one?
E.J.: Why would my father kidnap Samantha, have the lifesaving stem cells within his grasp, and then dump her in a motel.
Sami: Without taking the stem cells. I can't stop thinking about that. God, I wish my dad would just call me and explain what's going on.
Roman: [Breathing heavily]
Bo: Roman, we got bowling league tonight. It's your turn to pay for the beers. You got one hell of a way to get out of it. You're gonna make it through this.
Paramedics: Bo, your brother, he's losing a lot of blood. We got to roll.
Bo: I'll run interference with the sharks out here.
Paramedics: Why don't you give us the ball, and we'll roll with it?
Officer: Detective, the background report you ordered on Jeremy Horton.
Bo: Ready to rock 'n' roll, bro? You're gonna make it. Let's go. Get out of the way. Out of the way! Come on!
Kayla: I can't believe that you asked Bo to dig into Jeremy's past without saying one word to me.
Steve: I'm doing it for you, sweetness, and for Stephanie. Now, if this Horton dude's jacket reads clean, then there's no problem.
Kayla: You don't really believe that Jeremy --
Steve: If he's got nothing to hide, I will tip my hat, sit back, and let nature run its course. Maybe.
Kayla: That sounds good. Except you're not in charge of our daughter's love life. You're like she's 13.
Steve: That's because, to me, she's still a little girl. And you know why? Because I missed everything. Like when she went from jumping rope to writing the name of her latest crush on her notebook. I wonder what that was like.
Kayla: Larry Frank. His name was Larry Frank.
Steve: What, he's got two first names?
Kayla: He vanished so quickly. The next September there was another notebook with another guy's name on it.
Steve: School dances. All those little boys showing up at the front door smelling like pimple cream, flashing their braces. And I wasn't there to give them the "you touch my daughter and I will kill you" stare-down. Look, all I'm saying, sweetness, is this is all new to me. I know I can't ground Stephanie. I can't lock her in her room. I'm just trying to keep her safe. Why is that a bad thing?
Kayla: You are so funny. All you talk about is the time that you missed with Stephanie. Here I give you the perfect opportunity to have a second chance, raising a needy child, and you say "no can do."
Steve: You been taking notes?
Kayla: I don't need to. Because even with that big hole, empty hole in the middle, I got you memorized.
Steve: [Scoffs] You do, do you?
Kayla: Mm-hmm. Sure do. And you know something? Patch was a good name for you back then because you held your life together with spit and grit.
Kayla: But you -- that name doesn't work anymore for you.
Steve: Says who?
Kayla: Says me. Because there is something else holding your life together, something way, way stronger.
Steve: Do tell.
Kayla: It's a love for your family... for Adrienne, for me, for our daughter. And you know what? I have this feeling that you have room in there for one more.
Steve: You know, baby, when you lay it on, you really use the high-price spread.
Steve: What else you got, huh?
Kayla: Um... I don't know. Maybe... this.
Kayla: Maybe just a little of, um -- just a minute, I'm not ready -- this. And this.
Chelsea: You can go, Jett. Really, I get it. I'm just the most clueless girl in the world.
Jett: Don't talk like that. You're far from that.
Chelsea: Now you're patronizing me. That makes me feel so much better.
Jett: I got nothing but respect for you.
Chelsea: Respect, Jett? You introduced me to someone that you claimed was your fiancé, completely leaving out the part that she was already married to somebody else.
Jett: If you just let me explain.
Chelsea: Why, so you can lie to me some more, so you can make up another B.S. story like the one where you broke up with Danielle, and you were just so heartbroken? In fact, if I recall correctly, you were so devastated that you came on to me, knowing that I had a boyfriend. So forgive me if I don't want to hear another one of your lame excuses.
Chelsea: "Right" what?
Jett: You're totally right. I totally lied to you. The whole thing was a setup from the beginning, and Danielle was in on it. Is that enough truth for you?
Sami: Why? Why did Stefano let me go?
Lucas: Who cares? The important thing is you're back where you belong.
Sami: But it doesn't make sense.
Lucas: Would you rather it make sense that he cut you open?
Sami: Lucas, no, of course I wouldn't.
Lucas: Maybe his horoscope was iffy. Maybe he screwed up his goat sacrifice or something. I don't know what it is, but I'm glad the rat bastard's running out of time.
E.J.: Actually, I think it's something else.
Lucas: Oh, really? Well, who asked you?
E.J.: Look, Lucas, my father had the lifesaving stem cells within his grasp.
Sami: But he didn't take them. And he could have added years to his miserable life and he didn't. Instead, he dumped me at some motel. And he didn't harm the babies, and I don't know why.
E.J.: Look, guys, I know this may seem a little farfetched to you, but I think that my father has had a change of heart.
Lucas: Well, that's a real neat trick. First you got to have a heart.
E.J.: Lucas, my father is a very compassionate man. He cares a lot about family.
Lucas: What are you saying? What's your point, huh?
E.J.: My point is that I think that when he really thought about what he was about to do to his grandchildren and he thought about the years that this war has been going on for, he saw that the coming together of a Brady and a DiMera as a possible way of ending all of these hostilities.
Lucas: I think you inhaled more gas than we ever did. What are you, crazy? Stefano is evil. He's pure evil. He's all black. There are no shades of gray, Sami.
E.J.: Really? Then why did he release Samantha?
Lucas: I don't know. Nothing he does makes sense to me, all right? You expect me to believe that the heavens just parted and he got on his knees and he begged forgiveness for his immoral soul? I'm sorry. That's it. He already sold it. No exchanges. No refunds. You got that? [Knock on door] That'll be your folks, all right?
Nick: I got to talk to you guys right away.
Lucas: Hey, man. What's going on? How's your head?
Sami: We were really worried about you. Are you okay?
Nick: I was pretty out of it for a while, but things have started to come back. That's why I'm here.
E.J.: Listen, I understand that you saved Samantha's life, the life of the babies. Thank you very, very much.
Nick: Yeah, well, sometimes you got to do what you got to do, like right now.
Lucas: What's going on? Tell us what's up?
Nick: I remembered why I was here when the bomb went off. It's about your babies, Sami.
Chelsea: Oh, so you lied to me.
Jett: Yeah, I did. Danielle got married to mark last year. He's another buddy of mine from the Air Force.
Chelsea: Are you guys like all part of the liar's club or something? You just get together every week and pick out your target?
Jett: It's nothing like that.
Chelsea: Then what is it like, Jett? You know, I told you about Danielle cheating on you because you were my friend, and I didn't want to see you get hurt.
Jett: I know you didn't, and that meant a lot to me.
Chelsea: Really? I just couldn't tell since you bit my head off.
Jett: I said I was sorry about that. The thing is --
Chelsea: "The thing is." There's always a thing, isn't there? You know what, Jett? Why don't you just lie to me, since it's what you do best?
Jett: I didn't want to lie to you, Chelsea.
Chelsea: Then why did you?
Jett: Because I needed a firewall. I couldn't allow myself to get involved with you.
Chelsea: I was already involved with Nick.
Jett: And that connection wasn't looking too strong.
Chelsea: So, what, you just borrow your best friend's wife and bring her to Salem so that I would know you were taken?
Jett: Believe it or not, I was actually looking out for you.
Chelsea: You were looking out for me? Really? Jeez, I'm sorry. I must have really misinterpreted that. You know what, Jett? Just say what it is you're gonna say. "It's not you, it's me." Whatever. I really don't care. But here's a little tip for you. If you're gonna let a girl down, go hard on her. She bounces back a little bit quicker. Bottom line is be more of a man and less of a jerk.
Jett: Guess I had that one coming.
Chelsea: You know something? I used to think that Jeremy was the biggest jerk I'd ever met. I mean, honestly, I didn't even understand why you wanted to share the same air space with him, but... I guess you solved that mystery for me.
Steve: I don't want to behave.
Kayla: They're here. They're here.
Stephanie: Mom, Dad.
Kayla: Hey, baby. How are you?
Steve: Hey, baby girl.
Jeremy: Is this Johnson, party of four?
Kayla: Yep, now that you guys are all here.
Stephanie: This is great.
Kayla: It was all your dad's idea.
Jeremy: And it means a lot to me. So, gifts for the host, Mrs. J.
Kayla: You didn't need to do that, but I do like gifts.
Kayla: Ah. Ooh, that's nice. Never heard of that. I think I'll try some on.
Stephanie: Give dad his.
Steve: I don't wear perfume or cologne.
Jeremy: You'll like it. It's a mix I cut together. Steph mentioned you were heavy into blues harp.
Steve: Oh. Junior Wells, Paul Butterfield, Carey Bell. Dude's been on the internet.
Kayla: Here, smell this. It's nice.
Steve: Maybe I'm allergic.
Kayla: Very nice.
Jeremy: It means a lot that you pulled this evening together.
Stephanie: Once you know Jay, you'll love him just as much as I do.
Jeremy: We got off on the wrong foot. Thanks for this chance. I won't let you or Steph down.
Kayla: Well, we're glad to hear that. Aren't we, baby?
Steve: Yeah. We're tickled pink.
Sami: Just tell me. What is wrong with my babies?
Lucas: Calm down, all right? Is there a problem with the amnio?
Nick: No. No, it's nothing like that.
Sami: Well, then what is it?
Nick: I came here last time to tell you guys the truth, but then the bomb went off.
E.J.: What truth?
Nick: I messed up.
Kate: Lucas, I just heard that Sami ran away with E.J.
Sami: Yeah, well, you got it slightly off. I was kidnapped by Stefano.
Kate: Kidnapped. What are you doing here?
Lucas: They let her go, Mom. It's a very big ordeal. I would appreciate it if you showed Sami a little sympathy.
Sami: It's fine.
Kate: Oh, of course. I'm so glad you're safe. Nick, what are you doing here?
Lucas: He came to talk to us about the amnio that was done on the twins.
Kate: What? This wretched lab rat? I'm sure he doesn't have anything to say, do you, Nick?
Jeremy: Mmm. Sweet, just like your daughter.
Stephanie: Oh, stop.
Jeremy: No, really. To all of you, thanks for making me feel so welcome.
Steve: So, Jeremy, how's that business venture of yours going?
Jeremy: Touch the Sky? Well, we're up and running.
Steve: Is, uh, Touch the Sky turning a profit?
Jeremy: I'm dating your daughter. It's a fair question.
Stephanie: Everything Jeremy touches turns to gold. Check out this necklace he got me.
Kayla: Wow. That's nice.
Steve: That must have cost a pretty penny.
Kayla: Steve, stop.
Jeremy: No, again, no problem. Business is good. We're running 20% above projections.
Chelsea: Almost every flight is practically full, and the customer feedback -- a-plus-plus.
Jeremy: And Steph deserves half the bragging rights. She is amazing in what she does.
Steve: What exactly does she do?
Stephanie: It's no big deal. I just serve drinks, pass out pillows, blankets.
Jeremy: It's more than that. She really clicks with the passengers. Same demographic -- young, rising stars chasing their dreams.
Steve: Inside a casino.
Jeremy: No disrespect intended, Mr. J., but did you party at all when you were our age?
Kayla: [Clears throat] What do you think?
Jeremy: That's what I'm saying. It's fun to party with high rollers, right, babe?
Jeremy: But we have our eyes on our future, making a name for ourselves, you know, rocket this baby as far as it'll go so I can offer this lady the future she deserves. Sky's the limit.
Kayla: Sounds like you have it pretty planned out.
Stephanie: What do you think, Papa?
Steve: Uh, well, I think money's a great invention. I think a business, if you run it right, it's got its own rewards.
Jeremy: We are on the same page.
Steve: But something else has to factor in -- a man's character.
Jeremy: Yeah. And about that, I've got a little confession to make. I'm only human, and I've scored as many errors as I have hits. But every time I walk outside the box or forget the rules, Stephanie reminds me of the man I want to be, only one of the reasons why I love her so much.
Jett: I'm not denying it. I admit it. I sent you mixed signals.
Chelsea: Yeah, I'll say.
Jett: It wasn't fair to you, and it wasn't right, but I had no choice.
Chelsea: You had no choice? Jett, are you kidding? Everybody has choices. You just made a really bad one.
Jett: Would you just let me explain, please?
Chelsea: Why should I?
Jett: Because you'll get that it's serious and that I'm in way deeper than just messing around with you.
Chelsea: I'm listening.
Jett: Look, I'm sorry you got hurt. But you have to believe that I just wanted to protect you.
Chelsea: Protect me? Jett, you lied to me, and then you led me on. And you want me to believe that you did that for my own good.
Jett: I'm not the man you think I am, Chelsea.
Chelsea: No, you're not the man I thought you were at all because it turns out you're just like your buddy Jer.
Jett: Wrong. Jeremy Horton is a criminal, and I'm the undercover ISA agent on the task to bring him down.
Lucas: What's your problem, huh?
Kate: My problem? You have to ask that?
Lucas: Yeah, sometimes with you, it's hard to guess. Your mind works in mysterious ways. What are you doing?
Kate: Lucas, Sami was in danger. The babies were in danger.
Sami: Give me a break. You thought I had run away with E.J.
Kate: You were with a DiMera. I think that's dangerous.
Sami: E.J. is the babies' father. He wants them to be safe. What are you talking about?
Kate: The point is you're home now. You're safe. I'm sure you're exhausted. Whatever Nick has to say, he can say at a later time.
Sami: I would really like to hear what you have to say now, Nick.
Kate: I can't stress strongly enough what a mistake it would be for you to say anything right now that could be seen as disturbing.
Lucas: Don't listen to her. What do you have to say? What did you come here to tell us?
Kate: I hope you're not making a mistake.
Sami: Would you stop it? What do you know, Kate? What is it? Is there something with my pregnancy? What is it, Nick?
Nick: No, Sami. There's nothing wrong with your pregnancy, all right? Your and Lucas' kids are just fine.
E.J.: Wait a second.
Nick: No, no, no. They're not yours, E.J. I'm sorry. The father of these babies, both of them, is Lucas.
Lucas: Did you just say I was the father?
Sami: But how is this possible? 'Cause you said that –
Nick: The report I gave you was wrong.
Lucas: You're sure about that?
Nick: Absolutely, 100% -- well, there's, like, a chance in 13 billion.
Lucas: So those are my babies? Those are my babies you're carrying! You're carrying my babies!
E.J.: Stop this! Why should we believe you?
Kate: Nick, everyone here, especially Sami, knows that reports can be falsified.
Nick: And why would I do that, Mrs. Roberts?
Kate: I can think of a number of reasons.
Lucas: Such as?
Kate: Well, the first one that comes to mind is that he could be completely incompetent.
Nick: I'm a fully certified, accredited lab technician. I know for a fact that the test results are bona fide because I screwed up the first one.
E.J.: Really? Who put you up to this? Is somebody paying you to say this?
Kate: Nick, your job could be on the line here.
Nick: My job is on the line, Kate.
Sami: Wait a second. That amnio happened weeks ago, and the paternity-test results said that he was the father.
Nick: I told you I messed up that one.
Nick: I was under a lot of pressure to get the results in fast, and I got careless. So I ordered a new report done by somebody else, and it came in earlier. It's all there, signed by the chief lab tech.
Lucas: It's true. It's right there. It's in black and white. It's true. I'll be a dad. That's my babies. Do you hear that? Do you guys hear that? Who's your daddy, huh? Who's your daddy? Tell me. Wait a minute, man. How could you do this to us? You have any idea what you put us through?
Sami: Wait a second. Smart guys like you don't make mistakes... unless you're under a lot of pressure from someone.
Chelsea: So this is the real deal?
Jett: As real as it gets.
Chelsea: You didn't get it from the liar's shop at the mall?
Jett: You can call my boss if you'd like, check my creds.
Chelsea: So, you're a cop.
Jett: Yep. I wanted to tell you from the start.
Chelsea: What stopped you?
Jett: Come on, Chelse. I'm undercover. What do you think? It's for your safety and Stephanie's.
Chelsea: So your reasons were totally noble.
Jett: No, but I'm in Salem to do a job. That doesn't include putting you in danger.
Chelsea: To nail Jeremy.
Jett: He's our lead suspect. So are the people he works for.
Chelsea: So for these last couple of months, then, you've just been pretending to be my friend. I mean, all those talks that we had and that time at the airport in Vegas, that -- that near kiss, um... was that all an act, too?
Jeremy: Well, this isn't half as bad as I expected.
Kayla: What, the food or the company?
Jeremy: The food's great, Mrs. J. Compliments to your folks.
Kayla: They should be out soon. You can tell them yourself.
Jeremy: Ah. Cool.
Stephanie: Uh, Papa, did you hear about how many hours Jeremy's clocked?
Steve: Excuse me. I'll be back in a minute. Tell me that in a minute. You're looking grim, dude. What's the story?
Bo: Roman took a knife to the gut tonight.
Steve: What the hell? Is it bad?
Bo: He's hanging in.
Steve: Who knifed him?
Bo: André. Played me for the fool that I am. I'll explain it later.
Steve: What can I do to help?
Bo: We should get the whole family over to the hospital.
Steve: All right. I'll break the news to Kayla and Stephanie.
Bo: All right.
Steve: Hey, man, he's gonna pull through. Roman is nothing if not tough.
Bo: Yeah. Yeah, I know. I got that jacket you wanted on Jeremy.
Steve: Right. Have you looked at it?
Bo: Yeah. It ain't pretty. Happened and I survived one of the biggest tornadoes.
Bo: You nailed it, man. Jeremy's bad news.
Steve: Sometimes I hate when I'm right.
Bo: Thing is, he's a Horton. He's Hope's family, for God's sake.
Steve: That's another lesson. It doesn't matter what a man's last name is. If there can be righteous DiMeras like Benjy, there can be a bad Horton or two running around. Give me a hint. How bad is it?
Bo: You're gonna have to read it for yourself.
Jett: Chelsea, I felt chemistry with you from the beginning.
Chelsea: Yeah, it's how it felt.
Jett: Yeah, it had me concerned. So I had to hide my attraction. Would you walk with me? I figured that if you met the person I was engaged to, then we'd be cool and I could just focus on doing my job.
Chelsea: Why drag her further into this?
Danielle: Because I'm working this case, too. Danielle Calder, special agent with the International Security Alliance.
Sami: I would bet my life that it wasn't Nick's idea to change the test results to show that E.J. was the father.
Lucas: Somebody put the squeeze on you, Nick, make you an offer you couldn't refuse? Smells to me like a little blackmail.
E.J.: Who was it, Nick?
Nick: No one pressured me. It was my mistake and mine alone.
E.J.: A mistake? Do you have any idea how that mistake is going to affect all of us?
Nick: Dr. Jacobs put a rush on the test results, so I rushed. I got careless. I didn't do the cross-checking I needed to, and E.J. came up as the father. It was totally unprofessional, and I take full responsibility, even if that means losing my job.
Kate: Oh, Nick, you're not gonna lose your job. I'll talk to your supervisor about it.
Nick: Oh, please don't do that, Mrs. Roberts. Let me deal with the fallout. Lucas, Sami, E.J., I feel really badly about all this, but, I mean, at least now the truth is out.
Lucas: That's right.
Sami: Nick. I don't believe you. Turn around. Look me in the eye and tell me, to my face, that Kate or E.J. or both of them didn't have something to do with you changing these test results. We're waiting.
Nick: If you need someone to blame, blame me. It's my fault.
[Door opens, closes]
Kate: I'm gonna go check on that poor kid.
Sami: You're a real piece of work, there, Kate. And you are probably in on this, too, aren't you, E.J.?
E.J.: Nothing could be further from the truth. [Cellphone ringing]
Lucas: Oh, man.
Sami: You know what? I don't believe you. I don't know what it is, but somehow I'm sick of being messed with, E.J.
Lucas: Sami, stop it.
Sami: No, I can't take it for one more minute. Enough of this. Enough of you.
Lucas: That was your mother. I guess your dad was stabbed tonight...
Lucas: ...By André DiMera.
Sami: Oh, my God. I have to get to the hospital.
E.J.: How did André get close to Roman?
Sami: Who cares? Why are you even here? You know what, E.J.? You can't help us anymore. You have no power over anything. You mean nothing. That's why Stefano let me go because these twins don't help him. I have nothing that you want, and there is no reason for you to be in my life. You are totally irrelevant.
Danielle: Chelsea, I apologize for all this cloak-and-dagger stuff, okay? But believe me when I say that lying to you really tore Jett up inside.
Chelsea: I'll bet.
Danielle: No, I'm serious. Look, my husband and I have known Jett for years, and we have never seen him go so far to protect someone. It's obvious that he thinks you're a very special lady. Okay, well, look, I got to get back to the office. Good luck. He's a good man, Chelsea.
Chelsea: My God. This is seriously unreal. I mean, nobody's gonna believe this, especially not Stephanie.
Jett: Whoa, whoa, wait. Chelsea, you can't tell anyone about this, especially not Stephanie.
Chelsea: Why? What exactly has Jeremy done?
Jeremy: Some pilots get jazzed by the takeoff, but, for me, it's the landing. Listening to the landing gear lowering is such a rush, mastering 150,000 pounds of metal as you make the perfect touchdown is -- well, it's even better when the lady you love is sitting right next to you.
Stephanie: You'll have to let him take you up sometime.
Kayla: Be great.
Bo: I don't know where he took a wrong turn, but he's not who he claims to be. He wants us to believe he's some happy-go-lucky thrill seeker when, in reality, he's nothing but trouble.
Chelsea: What has Jeremy dragged us all into? Does it have to do with the shuttle service to Vegas?
Jett: I don't know. I have no evidence to make that connection yet.
Chelsea: Jett, you got to get this guy out of our lives.
Jett: Yeah, I know. Look, I was telling you the truth when I said Jeremy and I served together. And we got to know each other in the Air Force, but after that, we lost contact. He has no idea I'm a cop.
Chelsea: So how'd you guys get back in touch?
Jett: At work. I was reading a file in a suspected smuggling operation, and Jeremy's name was all over it. So I tracked him down. And just before he was getting ready to set up Touch the Sky, I offered to go in with him.
Chelsea: What do you think he's smuggling, drugs or something?
Jett: I don't know. I don't know who his accomplices are or who he works for. And that's where you come in.
Chelsea: Me? What can I do?
Jett: We think Stephanie might know more than she's letting on.
Kayla: I think I'm gonna go out and see what's keeping your father. What's going on?
Steve: Come here, babe.
Bo: I got some bad news. Roman is in intensive care. He was stabbed by André DiMera.
Kayla: How bad is it?
Bo: It's critical.
Kayla: I got to get over there.
Bo: Okay, I'll drive you.
Steve: I'm gonna stay here. I'll explain things to Stephanie.
Kayla: You tell her I'll call her, let her know how things are.
Steve: Roman is tough. He's gonna pull through.
Chelsea: If Stephanie knew that Jeremy was doing something illegal, trust me, she wouldn't cover for him. She wouldn't know how.
Jett: She's in love with him, Chelsea. People do crazy things.
Chelsea: So? I mean, look, she steals my lipstick from time to time, but, trust me, she's not a smuggler.
Jett: I wish I could say the same for Jay, but things are not looking good there.
Chelsea: Well, what about Max?
Jett: Max is cool. I think Jeremy's keeping him in the dark.
Chelsea: Yeah. You know, he and I always had a bad feeling about Jeremy from the get-go.
Jett: Well, I am gonna need you to watch Stephanie for me and see what she knows.
Chelsea: Jett, trust me. She doesn't know anything.
Jett: We hope.
Chelsea: You realize that you're asking me to do this to my best friend.
Jett: Yeah. That's exactly why I need your help with her. What do you say, Chelsea?
Stephanie: Where's Mom?
Steve: I got some bad news, baby. Your Uncle Roman was hurt tonight in the line of duty. She went to the hospital with Bo.
Stephanie: I've got to go, too.
Steve: No, she wants you to stay here until she knows more.
Jeremy: Well, Mr. J., is there anything I can do?
Steve: Yeah, hotshot, there is something you can do. You can tell us all about your record, your felony convictions, and the time you spent in jail.
Lucas: I'm gonna take my wife to see her dad, and you have no part in that. You're not a friend. You're definitely not a part of this family, thank God. I think it's pretty clear. Bottom line is you're out of our lives for good.
Sami: Lucas, I just want to be happy about our kids and that you're the father, but I can't. I'm just so worried about my dad.
Lucas: Calm down. Everything is gonna be fine.
Chelsea: I'm just your informant, only I don't get paid and the perks aren't really that good. After you nail Jeremy, I don't want to see you ever again.
Steve: Throw this jerk out with the rest of the garbage.
Nick: Do what I want, and your secret stays safe.
Kate: And if I refuse?
Nick: I expose you.
Sami: I have to protect my children. The best way I can think of is to kill Stefano DiMera.
