Kayla: Where are you? I thought you'd left .
Stephanie: I'm on my way, okay?
Kayla: Stephanie, this is important.
Stephanie: I know. I know. It's not like papa's going anywhere.
Kayla: Was that supposed to be funny?
Stephanie: No. Sorry. I'm just fried. Why does Uncle Bo want to meet?
Kayla: He's gonna lay out a new strategy.
Kayla: You know, Stephanie, your father is counting on your help.
Stephanie: No, Mom. You're counting on it.
Kayla: I'm sorry that he said those things to you. He didn't mean them.
Stephanie: You weren't there.
Kayla: I know he loves you.
Stephanie: You don't seem to get it. People crack. What if you're wrong about papa? What if he really is crazy and you're just too afraid to admit it?
Willow: Thanks for coming.
Nick: You okay?
Willow: Yeah. I've been in worse dumps.
Nick: It seemed pretty bad on the phone. What's going on?
Willow: Not only am I being charged with theft and arson, Hope's blackmailing me.
Willow: Yeah, she waltzed in here, offered to help if -- big "if" -- I sign over my baby. Sweet, huh?
Nick: I don't really know what to say.
Willow: Well, I sure as hell do. Hope and Bo are trying to steal my baby.
Sami: [Sighs] Lucas.
Lucas: Hey, sleepyhead.
Sami: How long was I out?
Lucas: Not long. Not long at all.
Sami: What's this?
Lucas: It's just to keep you hydrated. It's okay. Don't worry about it.
Sami: Well, I feel fine.
Lucas: Well, good. You hungry?
Sami: Are you kidding?
Lucas: What are you craving?
Sami: Mmm. A turkey club, triple-decker.
Lucas: You'll need some mayo with that, right?
Sami: Definitely, and maybe some seasoned curly fries.
Lucas: Ooh, go for it, baby. I got to go downstairs to get that.
Sami: Wait, wait, wait. No, I should probably just have some fruit.
Lucas: Are you sure? It's kind of boring.
Sami: I know, I know. But maybe just some fruit and cheese. It's better for the baby.
Lucas: Okay. Tell you what -- I'm hungry, too. I'll set up a little picnic area for us. It'll be nice.
Sami: What would I do without you?
Lucas: You'll never have to find out, will you?
Sami: Don't be gone too long, okay?
Lucas: I won't. I'll be right back.
Sami: I love you so much, Lucas.
Lucas: I love you, too. I gave you that ring. And, Sami, do me a favor. Don't ever scare me like that again, all right?
Sami: I'll try.
Lucas: All right. I'll be right back.
Sami: Um, honey?
Sami: Some chips wouldn't hurt, right?
Lucas: Oh, yeah? Barbecue and sour cream?
Sami: Shut up. Just one. Surprise me.
Lucas: All right.
Kayla: Your father is not crazy, and he doesn't belong in that place any more than you or I do.
Stephanie: Fine. He doesn't.
Kayla: What are you doing?
Stephanie: Listening to music until Uncle Bo gets here.
Kayla: You know, Stephanie, I am not done talking to you.
Stephanie: Yes, you are.
Kayla: Listen to me. Listen to me! Listen to me. You don't think that he hasn't said hateful things to me?
Stephanie: Oh, this is a contest now?
Kayla: It's not him talking.
Stephanie: Right. It's E.J. Got it.
Kayla: Who is turning him against every last person he loves.
Stephanie: Mom, when do we say "enough"? I didn't sign up for this kind of abuse.
Kayla: And who did, your dad?
Stephanie: Great. A guilt card.
Kayla: You know what? Listen to me. Give me that. Give it to me. I am not trying to make you feel guilty. I just have faith in him. I have faith that we can help him. And if we don't, we could lose him.
Stephanie: News flash -- we've already lost him.
Kayla: No. I am going to keep trying.
Stephanie: And by trying, do you mean put our lives on hold and pray for a miracle?
Kayla: No. No, what I mean is we make a miracle happen together, as a family. Listen, I know your father is tough to love right now.
Stephanie: Don't make this about loving him because I refuse to put my life into park and wait for him to get better like you are. It's not fair to ask me, Mom. And if you're as smart as I know you are, then you'll cut your losses, too.
Nick: That doesn't make any sense.
Willow: I know blackmail when I hear it, Nick, and if I don't sign my baby over to Hope, he's going into the system.
Nick: What does your lawyer say?
Willow: He got his degree like last week.
Nick: Well, then maybe Hope's offer is your best option.
Willow: I don't have a best option. I have no bail money, no defense, and most of all, I don't have a hairbrush to prove I'm innocent.
Nick: Why am I here, Willow?
Willow: 'Cause I can use a friend.
Nick: You want me to talk to Hope?
Nick: Then what do you want?
Willow: I want a second chance, Nick, to start all over, to maybe raise my baby in a nice place. And all you're thinking is, "how fast can I run to that exit?"
Nick: No, I'm not.
Willow: It's okay. I'm used to it.
Nick: Used to what?
Willow: People walking out on me. People don't stick around for this party very long. Not my folks, not Jed, not Shawn. But I will never walk out on this baby's life, so you can tell your cousin Hope that I will never turn my back on this baby.
Sami: Lucas. You're back so soon. [Gasps]
E.J.: Sorry to disappoint you. What's wrong? Don't you recognize me without the smell of gasoline to tickle your pretty little nose? I'd take my hand away, Samantha, but we seem to have such trust issues at the moment, don't we? Now, if you promise me not to call out, maybe we could discuss this like reasonable adults. Do you understand me? You better not let me down.
Sami: I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. E.J., I did not want to hurt you. I really didn't. It was all her idea. She made me do it. And I know it was a mistake. That's why I couldn't drop the match. I swear. I wanted to go back. I wanted to try to help you, and she wouldn't let me.
E.J.: I'm assuming by "she" you mean Celeste.
Sami: It was all her idea.
E.J.: That's very loyal of you.
Sami: She doesn't deserve my loyalty. She's crazy.
E.J.: I'm sure. She should stick to the occult, leave the professional murders to you.
Sami: I didn't do it. I didn't set that cabin on fire. I swear to you, E.J. I couldn't do it.
E.J.: The burning question, Samantha, is why?
Sami: You know why.
E.J.: I do? Enlighten me.
Sami: Well, it's because -- it's because of our kiss.
E.J.: Because of our kiss. Well, it was certainly the highlight of my evening.
Sami: E.J., you have to believe me. I saw you lying there helpless, and I couldn't do it. I just kept thinking about our connection, and I couldn't live without you.
E.J.: You have all the sincerity of a greeting card, darling.
Sami: It's true.
E.J.: Let's say, just for a moment, that I choose to believe you, I choose to overlook the fact that you left me inside that burning building. What is supposed to happen then, eh? You let one person get away with it and it's open season on the innocents in this world.
Sami: We are hardly innocents, E.J. We are selfish. We manipulate people. We get what we want and never mind the body count, right?
E.J.: Is that a confession?
Sami: I'm sick of this act. I'm hardly the wife and mother. Who am I trying to kid, right?
E.J.: Lucas, Kate, your family. Would you like me to go on?
Sami: You should see me with him. I am so bored with Lucas already. I mean, I can hardly look him in the eye.
E.J.: You were saying?
Sami: I was trying so hard to fight it, but the truth is that I...I do want you. And no matter what happened last night, I know you still want me.
Nick: Willow, just because Hope takes care of your baby while you're getting your life together doesn't take away from the fact that you are the baby's mother.
Willow: He knows my voice already, Nick. I can tell.
Willow: I don't know. I just can tell. I've been having all these feelings lately. I hardly recognize myself. Love changes people.
Willow: Even people like you and me.
Nick: What do you mean?
Willow: I saw what you did for Chelsea, turning boy scout to thief.
Nick: You know what? This visit is over.
Willow: Come on. Come on. I didn't mean it that way. Please.
Nick: What do you want from me, Willow? The apology? The confession?
Willow: Hey, a confession would be nice. I just want an answer to a simple question.
Nick: Simple. What?
Willow: I'm in a corner, Nick. And whether you admit it or not, you put me here.
Nick: Your question?
Willow: Are you man enough to get me out of it?
Kayla: I guess somewhere down the line you got the idea that life played fair. It doesn't always.
Stephanie: I got that when I was a kid. Thanks for the reminder.
Kayla: Stephanie, you know what, baby? You have this beautiful, wonderful life out in front of you here. That one visit that you made to your father convinced him to talk to Bo.
Stephanie: And then he didn't.
Kayla: Because they tortured him. He is living at rock bottom.
Stephanie: He's not the only one. Mom, you need to let go.
Kayla: No, I am never doing that. You don't think that sometimes I want to run?
Stephanie: Why don't you?
Kayla: Because I love him and we promised each other that, you know, in sickness and in health.
Stephanie: I don't want to let you and dad down, but --
Kayla: But you know what? I think you're letting yourself down. I'm afraid that someday you're gonna need him, he's not gonna be there, and you're gonna regret that you didn't see this through. And you know what? That is gonna hurt far worse than any rejection your father could hand out.
Stephanie: I'll stick it out a little longer.
Kayla: That's my girl. I love you. Thank you.
Stephanie: I love you, too. I'm sorry for all the attitude.
Kayla: Well, I'm sorry for the guilt.
Stephanie: We even?
Kayla: Mnh-mnh. I won.
Stephanie: How do you figure?
Kayla: I got to see what my girl's really made of. I'm so proud of you.
Kayla: Oh. Trouble.
Roman: Hey, sweetheart. How are you?
Stephanie: Uncle Roman.
Roman: Damn, girl. You're getting more beautiful every day. It must have been that water you were drinking in Dayton, huh?
Stephanie: You were always my favorite.
Roman: And you are such a player.
Stephanie: Learned from the best. What's in the bag?
Roman: What else? Doughnuts.
Stephanie: Such a cliché.
Roman: Clichés are clichés 'cause they're true. I got your favorite.
Roman: Double chocolate.
Kayla: Where's Bo?
Roman: He got called away on a case.
Kayla: Well, what about the court order? Can we fight it?
E.J.: Can I take you right here on this hospital bed?
Sami: I'm serious, E.J.
E.J.: So am I.
Sami: Look, I didn't want you to die in that cabin. I swear to you I didn't.
E.J.: And yet you walked away from me, Samantha...again.
Sami: She made me do it.
E.J.: You're very quick to throw Celeste under the bus, aren't you?
Sami: Because she deserves it. She's crazy.
E.J.: I'm sure.
Sami: Why are you dressed like a doctor, E.J.?
E.J.: I thought it would help me blend into the environment, only to walk in here and find Lucas keeping a bedside vigil.
Sami: He'll be back any minute.
E.J.: Oh, will he? Goody. Then we should get a move on.
Sami: Look, E.J., I promise I will call you the second that they release me from the hospital.
E.J.: Do you think that I'm a fool? Do you think I'm some lovesick sycophant just hanging around for you?
Sami: I don't want to fight with you.
E.J.: I didn't come here to fight, Samantha.
Sami: I'll make it up to you, I promise.
E.J.: All your promises are empty.
Sami: I'll do whatever you want. I'll do it.
E.J.: You know what I want you to do? I want you to lie here quietly like a good little girl. Can you do that? Can you do that? Okay. And then I want you to know how it felt for me when I thought that the moment of my death was at hand.
Sami: What is that?
E.J.: This, darling? This is the final act in our little play.
Roman: Well, I talked to the judge personally. He won't budge.
Stephanie: So we can't get dad out of that place?
Roman: I didn't say that.
Kayla: Yeah, we just have to get creative, that's all.
Roman: Kayla, Bo told me about the shock therapy.
Kayla: Yeah, which is why we can't sit around waiting for lawyers and judges.
Roman: I agree.
Kayla: So we need to get in there and break him out of that place.
Roman: So, you want to pull off an undercover operation.
Kayla: Nothing else has worked.
Roman: Kayla, there's absolutely no way Bo and I can get inside there.
Kayla: I know. I'll do it. I told Bo that already.
Roman: Forget it. You wouldn't get past the front desk.
Kayla: Of course I would. A little makeup. Dye my hair.
Roman: Kayla, whatever we do has to stick in court. Otherwise, we're just spinning our wheels.
Stephanie: But we should still plant someone inside -- somebody that papa knows.
Roman: And trusts. And even then, Steve might blow the whistle on them to make E.J. happy. We have no idea what we're walking into.
Stephanie: That's why we send the one person that got through to him before -- me.
Nick: I don't appreciate your tone.
Willow: I'm not mad at you for stealing the hairbrush.
Nick: Hey. I never said that I stole the hairbrush.
Willow: Look, I'm just jealous. Chelsea has this great guy looking out for her.
Nick: Willow, listen to me.
Willow: Who do I have, big Betty down the cell, who thinks I look cute in orange?
Nick: That's not funny. We're not talking about Chelsea, okay?
Willow: Why not?
Nick: Because. We broke up.
Sami: Please. Please don't do this, E.J.
E.J.: I'm not completely without compassion, Samantha. This is a little more humane than the smell of your own flesh burning off your back.
Sami: I'm sorry. I am so sorry.
E.J.: It's a tad late for deathbed apologies.
Sami: Look, think about this. You don't want to do this. You don't want to kill your own baby.
E.J.: I warned you. I warned you that there would be consequences.
Sami: To me. To me, not to our child. Please. Look, I will leave Lucas. I'll go with you. I'll go with you right now.
E.J.: I don't want to spend the rest of my life with somebody who left me in a building to die.
Sami: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Look, I'll beg you. I'll get off this bed right now, and I will beg --
E.J.: I would have given you more in your life than you could have imagined in your greatest dreams, Samantha. But it's dead now, sweetheart. All you get from me is the afterlife.
Sami: No. No, no, no. Please. No.
E.J.: You have approximately two minutes to enjoy the rest of your time here on earth, darling.
Sami: What have you done? What have you done to me? What have you done?
E.J.: Hey. Don't struggle. Do not struggle, darling. It's ironic, really, isn't it?
Sami: Help me!
E.J.: Ironic. You left me in a building to die, to burn. Now you're gonna spend an eternity burning in hell.
Sami: Aah! Aah! Help! Help me, somebody! Somebody! Doctors, please! Somebody help me! Somebody help me!
Kayla: No. Completely out of the question.
Stephanie: Weren't you just all about me not leaving dad?
Kayla: This is not what I had in mind.
Roman: Steph, they saw you at the hospital, too. You're too obvious.
Stephanie: You were gonna disguise yourself. You could just as easily disguise me, too.
Stephanie: I'm not afraid of Dr. Demented.
Roman: Well, maybe we are.
Kayla: Where are you going?
Stephanie: Out. You say you want my help, then you don't. You guys let me know when you feel I'm still part of this family.
Kayla: Let her go.
Roman: What the hell was that all about?
Kayla: She hasn't had it very easy since she got back.
Roman: Yeah, Bo told me about her visit with Steve.
Kayla: It was bad. I'll talk to her. So, listen, what are we gonna do?
Roman: Well, I think getting somebody on the inside does make sense.
Kayla: Oh. Right.
Roman: But -- but not you.
Kayla: All right, then. Let's make a list of all the people who Steve could trust.
Roman: And who won't be recognized at the hospital.
Kayla: Well, that's a very short list.
Roman: How about his brother?
Kayla: It would take too long for Jack to get here.
Roman: All right. Then who?
Kayla: How about Max?
Roman: You know, Max, he's strong, he's smart, but he's just way too hotheaded for this situation.
Kayla: I know. I know. I know. Adrienne.
Kayla: Steve's sister.
Roman: Oh, that's right. Didn't Steve take the fall for her when she killed that bum they had for a father?
Kayla: That's right. She had it rough.
Roman: Guy does something like that, it's hard to forget.
Kayla: It'd still be a lot to ask of her.
Roman: You think she'd put herself on the line for Steve?
Kayla: One way to find out.
Willow: I'm really sorry, Nick.
Willow: Because Chelsea hurt you.
Nick: I'm fine.
Willow: For a guy who just got drop-kicked.
Nick: You trying to cheer me up?
Willow: Hey, I know Chelsea's a brat, but I didn't think she was a fool. If you ask me --
Nick: I didn't.
Willow: She's crazy to have given you up.
Nick: There's a lot of crazy in the world.
Willow: So, I can officially tell you why I asked you here.
Nick: To give Hope a message.
Willow: That, too.
Nick: There's more?
Willow: There is always more.
Nick: You know what? I think I should go back to the lab where I actually get paid to think.
Willow: How badly do you want to know what I want, Nick?
Sami: Help me! Somebody! Doctor!
Lucas: Sami! What? What's the matter?
Sami: Get it off me!
Lucas: Honey, stop. Don't do that.
Nurse: You need these liquids.
Sami: No, I have been poisoned. Take it off!
Nurse: No one's poisoning you.
Sami: Please, I don't have time to explain.
Lucas: Take out the I.V. for her, please.
Nurse: Yes, I'll remove it. Page Dr. Jacobs.
Lucas: Honey, what is it? What's the matter?
Sami: He was here, Lucas. He was here.
Lucas: Who was here?
Sami: E.J. he poisoned me. I'm dying.
Lucas: Baby, you're not dying.
Sami: I'm dying. He said I only have a couple minutes left.
Nurse: The vitals are stable.
Sami: He was here, and he was dressed like a doctor.
Lucas: Wait a minute. Maybe it was a dream, okay?
Sami: It wasn't a dream, Lucas. I don't have much time.
Lucas: You're fine. You're awake now. Everything's gonna be fine, all right? Calm down, please.
Sami: You have to know, you are the best thing that ever happened to me, Lucas Roberts.
Lucas: Baby, stop.
Sami: And you have to tell Will -- tell him -- tell him how much I love him.
Lucas: You can tell him. You're gonna be fine.
Doctor: Hold still, Miss Brady.
Sami: Ow! Get it off!
Lucas: Sorry about that. Honey, listen to me. Are you all right? What's the matter? Talk to me.
Sami: Oh, my God, Lucas. The room, it's spinning.
Lucas: It's not spinning. It's doing that because you hate the sight of needles. That's why.
Sami: No. No, it's really happening. I'm dying.
Lucas: You're not dying, baby. The monitors are fine. They're reading fine. There's nothing wrong with you.
Sami: E.J. -- he must have tampered with them. I think I only have a couple seconds left.
Lucas: Baby, please don't do this. Relax. Calm down. You're gonna be fine.
Sami: Lucas, I love you.
Lucas: I love you, too. Don't talk like that.
Sami: I really thought it was gonna be different this time.
Lucas: What, baby? What? What would be different?
Sami: But your mom -- your mom was right about me. I ruined everything.
Lucas: When's the last time you ever listened to my mother? Stop it, please.
Sami: After I'm gone, whatever you hear, please know that I love you so much, and everything I did was to protect you.
Lucas: Protect me from what, baby? From what? Sami. Sami. Nurse, please. She's passing out. Please, do something. Help her. Sami!
Willow: I need you to post my bail.
Nick: I don't have that kind of money.
Willow: Well, you don't have to pay it all. You can just do part, and they'll let me out.
Nick: Do you have any idea what the pay scale is at the lab?
Willow: More than prison.
Nick: I'm like one step above the guys in maintenance.
Willow: Nick, you're a genius.
Nick: Geniuses don't get rich. Basketball players do. We get plaques for our wall.
Willow: Nicky, I need you. You're one of the good guys.
Nick: I'm no hero, Willow.
Willow: You can be my hero.
Nick: I'm sorry, but I already have a full-time job.
Willow: Heroes make mistakes, just like the rest of us, just like you did. But the difference is, when they do make a mistake, they do everything they can to make it right again.
Lucas: What's wrong with her? Is she gonna be okay?
Sami: I'm not dead. I'm not dead?
Lucas: No, you're not dead. The nurse is just taking your pulse, that's it.
Nurse: It's normal.
Lucas: See? You'll be fine.
Sami: Maybe that just means it's gonna take longer than he said it would.
Lucas: No, baby, you just had a nightmare. That's all it was, really.
Sami: No. No, it wasn't a nightmare, Lucas. If it was a nightmare, how did that happen?
Lucas: Because you were freaking out, trying to take out your I.V.
Sami: No, I was trying to call the nurse for help, and E.J., he ripped it out of the wall.
Lucas: Nobody saw him in here. No one was in your room.
Sami: Because he was dressed like a doctor, Lucas.
Lucas: You're under a lot of pressure right now, all right?
Sami: No, it's not that.
Lucas: It is that. You've been planning a wedding.
Sami: Lucas, it was real.
Lucas: And you've been fighting with my mom every chance you get, too.
Sami: This really happened. Why won't you believe me?
Lucas: Just tack on the fact that you're pregnant. It doesn't help, baby.
Sami: Lucas, I'm telling you the truth.
Lucas: Baby, you had a scare at the restaurant. It's okay to be upset. It's okay to have some nightmares. Don't worry about it.
Sami: I know what I saw, Lucas.
Lucas: Baby, stress does weird things to people, trust me.
Sami: This wasn't stress. It was E.J.
Lucas: All right, fine. Fine, I'll call hospital security. We'll search the building.
Sami: Too late. You know that he is long gone. They're never gonna find him.
Lucas: Well, good. Good, the important thing is you're okay. That's all that matters.
Sami: Maybe it wasn't poison, but why would he come in here and make me think that he was trying to kill me?
Lucas: Baby, I'm really trying with you. I'm trying to understand this.
Lucas: I'm trying to wrap myself around this whole thing.
Sami: Oh, I'm really sorry, Lucas, that my attempted murder is giving you a brain cramp.
Lucas: Baby, why would he try to kill you?
Sami: Because. "A" -- he is a psychopath. "B" -- he's a psychopath. And "C" -- he's a --
Lucas: What, a DiMera?
Sami: Same difference.
Lucas: The DiMeras have a code, all right? A very sick code. They don't do things without a reason. What I want to know is what did you do? What did you do that would make E.J. come in here and make you think he wanted to kill you?
Kayla: Thank you.
Roman: Well, little sister, you didn't exactly give Adrienne the complete rundown.
Kayla: I didn't want to scare her off.
Roman: Is she on her way?
Kayla: That's what she said.
Roman: Well, we need to come up with a backup plan, just in case.
Kayla: You said there's no way around that doctor.
Roman: You know what? Maybe I can lean on that judge again.
Kayla: But you said he wouldn't budge.
Roman: Yeah. That's true. Tell you what -- why don't you call Steph, get her back here? We'll fill her in.
Kayla: I tried. She's not answering her cell.
Roman: Want me to track her down?
Kayla: I think maybe she needs time. [Doorbell rings] Oh. Maybe that's her. Adrienne. Thank you for coming.
Adrienne: Oh, baby, of course I came. We're family. Well, it sounds like Steve's in trouble. Tell me what I can do to help.
Nick: Willow... Bo and Hope are my family.
Willow: Do you want this baby born in this rathole?
Nick: No, but I am in a tough spot.
Willow: You're in a tough spot, and I'm in jail. Want to trade places?
Nick: I'm sorry. But you have to find somebody else.
Willow: Oh. I just had a thought. I'll call Shawn, wherever he is, and have him float me some early child support.
Nick: It's not that I don't want to.
Willow: You want to. You can't. It's a total waste. Well, this visit is gonna be a great chapter in my memoir. I almost got through to you, Nicky. I know it.
Nick: Listen. I'm gonna check how much money I have.
Willow: You would do that?
Nick: If I have enough money. And that is a huge, huge, huge "if."
Willow: Oh, you are such a lifesaver. I want to give you a big hug right now.
Nick: No, no, no, no, no. If I do this, how would I make the arrangements?
Willow: You call the public defender's office. Ask for Tim Norris.
Nick: He'll take care of everything else?
Willow: He knows how to post bail. I owe you big-time, Nick.
Nick: Forget it.
Willow: No, no, no. I will not forget this. I don't know how to thank you.
Nick: I do.
Roman: Good to see you, Adrienne.
Adrienne: Good to see you, too. I just wish it were under better circumstances.
Roman: Me, too.
Kayla: Listen, let's sit down.
Kayla: I just want you to know that this means so much to me and Stephanie.
Adrienne: Where is she?
Roman: She's out.
Adrienne: Kayla, why did you take so long to call me?
Kayla: Steve didn't want anyone to know. And honestly, I thought he'd be out of there by now.
Roman: We underestimated what the DiMeras did to Steve.
Adrienne: I knew something was wrong when he didn't return my phone calls or my e-mails.
Roman: Wait a minute. You guys were in contact?
Adrienne: A lot, especially right after he got his memory back.
Roman: Adrienne, Kayla has come up with a plan to get Steve out of the hospital.
Adrienne: Yes, she hinted at it on the phone.
Roman: Now, there is another player in this situation, a guy by the name of E.J. Wells.
Kayla: Stefano's son.
Adrienne: He did this to Steve?
Roman: Yeah, to get Steve to do their dirty work through hypnosis, mind control.
Kayla: Electric shock therapy.
Adrienne: Dear God. How do we get Steve away from him?
Kayla: It won't be easy. And I have to warn you, Adrienne, if you decide to help Steve, you'll be putting your life on the line.
Lucas: Why is it so hard for you to answer one simple question?
Sami: It's not. No, I guess you're right. I mean, you must be right about the whole thing. It must have been just a dream. Remember when we had the pepperoni pizza and I dreamt that I was joining a convent? And this must just be a pregnancy nightmare.
Lucas: Just a minute ago, you were convinced this was all real. What changed?
Sami: I don't know, except that you -- you convinced me that it wasn't.
Lucas: All right. All right, let's say I buy that.
Sami: What do you mean "let's say"?
Lucas: Let's say I buy it for now.
Sami: I'm telling you, I thought it was real, but then you convinced me that I was wrong.
Lucas: Yeah, and a second ago, you thought you were dying.
Sami: And thank God you were here to talk sense into me. And I'm sorry that I upset you.
Lucas: You know, you're trying awful hard not to talk about E.J.
Sami: Why would I want to talk about E.J.?
Lucas: I don't know.
Sami: What is that?
Sami: Lucas, you are scaring me now. What is this?
Lucas: I'm trying to piece things together. That's what I'm trying to do.
Sami: What do you mean?
Lucas: You, me, and E.J. This whole thing.
Sami: E.J. is not a part of our whole thing at all.
Lucas: He's been part of our whole thing ever since he got to Salem, damn it.
Sami: What about the food you brought? Can we eat? I'm starving.
Lucas: You know what? Stop it. Stop that right now. I'm sick of it.
Sami: I'm sorry. I'll stop.
Lucas: Every time I bring up E.J., you get all skittish. You change the subject, and then you try to make love to me.
Sami: So now making love is a problem?
Lucas: No, but what about that day you were crying, the day of your shower? You were in the bedroom with E.J.
Sami: Because I was sick. I told you.
Lucas: Yeah, what, he just followed you in there?
Sami: Yes, he did.
Lucas: You know what, Sami? Your story's got more holes than the Grand Canyon.
Sami: Look, ask me anything you want.
Lucas: Do you love me?
Sami: Of course I do.
Lucas: 'Cause I love you, and I don't want to grill you like this.
Sami: You can stop anytime.
Lucas: I want to trust you.
Sami: But you don't.
Lucas: Do you trust me?
Sami: Of course I do. Totally.
Lucas: Good. Then tell me what's really going on between you and E.J. Tell me the truth right now.
Nick: On one condition.
Nick: You keep this between us.
Nick: I mean it, Willow.
Willow: I'm not gonna tell anybody.
Nick: I really can't have my family finding out about this.
Willow: Your family or Chelsea?
Nick: Do you want me to help or not?
Willow: Okay, okay. I can keep a secret. I'm really good at it.
Nick: What are you doing?
Willow: It's for your cheek. Come on. Take it.
Willow: It's the best I can do...for now.
Adrienne: Okay, so, what do I do to get arrested and put into a State Hospital for the criminally insane?
Roman: That would be my first question.
Adrienne: Trust me, there's more.
Roman: Well, we're gonna take care of the situation. We're gonna work out the details and get you in as soon as possible.
Kayla: And once you're inside, you have to find access to Steve.
Adrienne: But how will I break him out?
Roman: You're gonna be wired and under constant surveillance.
Kayla: To minimize the danger.
Roman: And hopefully, Steve will make a quick connection so we can move fast.
Adrienne: How fast?
Roman: Well, best case -- one day, two days. I'll have people prepared for backup the second you tell me you're ready to go.
Adrienne: And the worst case?
Kayla: We don't really know. But we do believe that the doctor running the place works for the DiMeras.
Roman: Adrienne, obviously this could be dangerous. So if you decide you don't want to do this, we understand.
Kayla: Yeah, we'll come up with other options.
Adrienne: It doesn't sound like there are other options. The longer we wait, the more Steve suffers.
Kayla: I'm afraid so.
Adrienne: Then there's nothing to think about. I'll do whatever it takes to get my brother out of that place.
Kayla: Thank you.
Sami: You want me to confess to something I didn't do?
Lucas: No. No, I want to know why you're wound up so tightly.
Sami: Because my fiancé is calling me a liar.
Lucas: I didn't call you a liar.
Sami: You don't think I'm being honest with you.
Lucas: No, not completely, I don't.
Sami: That's the same thing as calling me a liar.
Lucas: Now we're playing a word game. I'm not gonna do this with you. You told me E.J. wanted you dead. What am I supposed to do? Call me paranoid, I think there's something else you're not telling me here, Sami.
Sami: I don't know, all right? I don't know what happened. I thought it was real, but maybe it wasn't. Maybe it was just a nightmare like you said. But either way, I was scared, and I wanted you. And now you're letting E.J. make you doubt me.
Lucas: I can't blindly accept things just because you want me to.
Sami: What things?
Lucas: These things -- all these things. The closer we get to our wedding, the more unhinged you get, damn it.
Sami: That's because there's things going wrong. I mean, what thing has gone right for us, one thing?
Lucas: Sami, I don't want to fight. I'm not talking about the plans we made, all right? I'm talking about you and me standing at that altar.
Sami: And I want that. I can't wait for that.
Lucas: We're gonna exchange vows, Sami, the vows we made in front of Father Kelly at our pre-cana. I memorized them word for word. They're simple, and they're powerful. It's based on love and honesty. I know that can be scary. I know that's an awkward commitment to make, but to me, it's sacred in front of God.
Sami: It is to me, too.
Lucas: Tell me what's going on, then. Tell me what is going on. If it affects us, if it hurts us, I need to know about it. Please, I'll understand. I promise I'll understand, whatever it is. If it has to do with E.J., I'm not gonna get mad at you, okay? As long as we remember the vows that we shared, we'll be fine.
Lucas: Don't be afraid, okay? Don't be afraid of the truth. Please. I'm not.
E.J.: Hey. I hope I'm not interrupting anything.
Lucas: What the hell are you doing here?
E.J.: I came to see how Samantha was doing.
Lucas: Get out right now.
E.J.: I'm glad to hear that you're doing much better. You look absolutely radiant. I don't think I've ever seen you look more alive.
Lucas: You know what, man? Take your flowers and your accent and get out of here right now.
E.J.: This is Samantha's room, Lucas. If she wants me to leave, I'll leave. Samantha?
Abby: Nick is gonna turn that hairbrush in. He's gonna tell the police the whole story, and your sorry butt's gonna go to jail.
Celeste: Oh, dear God.
Kate: That's right. I discovered Sami's dirty little secret, darling. See you at the wedding.
Sami: E.J., I can't take this anymore. If you're gonna kill me, then just do it. Get it over with.
