Billie: Chelsea, hi, it's mom again. Where are you? Listen, I really need to talk to you, so please call me back as soon as possible. It's very important.

Abby: You didn't get through to him, huh?

Billie: I tried.

Abby: Nick can be really stubborn sometimes.

Billie: This isn't about being stubborn, Abby. This is about destroying people's lives. And if Chelsea finds out that Nick and I slept together, I don't know what she'll do.

[Knock on door] [Knocking continues]

Chelsea: Who is it?

Nick: It's me.

Chelsea: Hey, you.

Nick: I'm sorry. You were sleeping. Maybe I should...

Chelsea: No, it's okay.

Nick: ...Come back later.

Chelsea: Actually, I'm glad you're here. I was just dreaming...about you.

Nick: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait.

Chelsea: You're sick of me already.

Nick: No, Chelsea, never. Um...there's something I have to tell you, and it's bad... really bad.

Sami: How did you know that I was here?

Celeste: Well, a church is not a place one ordinarily expects to find Samantha Brady.

Sami: What, the cards told you?

Celeste: Yes.

Sami: What else did the cards say?

Celeste: I think you already know.

Sami: You listen to me, Celeste. You tell me what those tarot cards said.

Celeste: E.J. Wells wants something, Samantha. And he's not gonna give up until he gets it. He wants your child.

E.J.: Kayla. To what do I owe the pleasure?

Kayla: You know why I'm here.

E.J.: Unfortunately, my crystal ball is on the fritz. And as you neglected to make an appointment with my assistant, I'm gonna have to ask you to leave, if you don't mind.

Kayla: As a matter of fact, I do mind. I am not leaving this room until you tell me what you've done to my husband.

Steve: [Grunting]

Joe: If there's any trouble in here, I'll be back.

Steve: I can't wait.

Dr. Kraft: Mr. Johnson, I'm Dr. Ella Kraft, your attending.

Steve: Why don't you attend to our friend out there? His breath could choke a goat.

Dr. Kraft: Here, let me help you.

Steve: Get your hands off me. I don't know what kind of BS they've been feeding you, but I'm in the wrong place. I'm as sane as you are.

Dr. Kraft: I have no doubt. In the meantime, I'd like to ask you a few questions.

Steve: My name is Steven Earl Johnson. The year is 2007. Our president is a dude who calls himself "Dubya." I have one eye, 10 fingers, and I love my mommy. Are we done?

Dr. Kraft: I have all the time in the world, Mr. Johnson. If you want to be an ass, that's your choice. If you want to walk out of here anytime soon, it's mine. Now, shall we try this again? My name is Ella Kraft. And you are?

Steve: Unable to shake your hand.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Sami: You're right. You're right, Celeste. E.J. wants my baby.

Celeste: So when did he find out?

Sami: A couple days ago. But I don't know who the father is. I mean, it could be Lucas'. Anyway, E.J.'s forcing me to have an amnio to find out. He said if I don't do the amnio in the next 48 hours, he's gonna tell Lucas everything.

Celeste: So what are you going to do?

Sami: I don't know. Why is he doing this to me?

Celeste: Oh, Samantha, this has nothing to do with your child, darling. It's all about power.

Sami: What? What does a baby have to do with power?

Celeste: Did he not tell you that he intended to plant the DiMera seed inside you?

Sami: Well, yeah, but I thought he meant --

Celeste: Yeah, well, that's because he is hoping to secure the family empire for the next generation.

Sami: What, with me? I mean, why would he want me for that? E.J. could have any woman he wants.

Celeste: Yes, but he chose you, Samantha. Stefano was obsessed with your mother. And now his son has chosen you.

Sami: Stefano...was a horrible man who ruined my life, and now you're saying E.J. wants to do the same thing? Is that what you're saying?

Steve: That's pretty good, Dr. Ella Kraft. Tough love. Is that the button they told you to push with me?

Dr. Kraft: I'm not here to love you, Mr. Johnson. I'm here to treat you.

Steve: Okay. Then let me ask you a question. What would you do if somebody threw you in this snake pit against your will? Would you roll over like a puppy or would you kick and scream until someone realized a terrible mistake had been made?

Dr. Kraft: You weren't brought here by mistake, Mr. Johnson. You've been charged with kidnaping, assault, trafficking in stolen human organs, attempted murder.

Steve: I saved John Black's life. I got Kayla to take out his kidney because I knew she would never let him die.

Dr. Kraft: Don't you think Mr. Black would have been better off if he kept his kidney?

Steve: I would never hurt John. He's a friend of mine.

Dr. Kraft: I think the jury might have a little difficulty with your interpretation of events. So, why'd you do it?

Steve: Why?

Dr. Kraft: It's a simple question. Explain to me why you took John Black from the hospital and had his kidney removed and I'll release you today.

Steve: I...I don't know.

Billie: I-I don't know what to do, Abby. I cannot get ahold of Chelsea. She's not picking up. You know, maybe -- maybe -- maybe Nick already went over there, you know. If he told you about this, who knows who else he's told.

Abby: Nick didn't tell me. I guessed.

Billie: You guessed?

Abby: Well, Chelsea said she found a guy's belt under your couch, and I saw Nick and his pants kept falling down, so I just did the math.

Billie: Oh, my God.

Abby: I know Nick didn't tell anybody else.

Billie: How do you know that?

Abby: Because he's a good guy.

Billie: I can't take that chance.

Chelsea: So, this is bad, huh?

Nick: Yeah.

Chelsea: Look, Nick, I know that you just came over to help me study or whatever and then we started making out, but I'm sorry. It was all my fault.

Nick: That's not what this is about.

Chelsea: Look, I totally understand if you don't want to help tutor me anymore in calculus.

Nick: No, Chelsea, I don't care about calculus. I'm crazy about you. I haven't stopped thinking about that kiss since --

Chelsea: Me, too. Seriously, Nick, I was just having a dream about you kissing me.

Nick: Yeah?

Chelsea: Yeah. And I know I said before that, you know, I thought we should take things slow or whatever, and I think that's just what my head was telling me, but I feel like my heart has, like, other plans. Like, I just really, really... look, Nick, I'm not playing games with you if that's what you think.

Nick: I know that.

Chelsea: Then what's wrong?

Nick: Okay, you know what we were talking about before I left?

Chelsea: Well, yeah, we were talking about a lot, but then there were times when we weren't really saying anything at all.

Nick: I'm serious. We were talking about how we wanted to be honest and we didn't want to have any more secrets.

Chelsea: Yeah? Come on, Nick, why do you look like you just lost your best friend?

Nick: 'Cause I'm afraid I'm about to.

Chelsea: Why do you feel like you're about to lose your best friend?

Nick: You know how I told you that I would tell you the truth no matter what?

Chelsea: Yeah. Nick, come on. It can't be that bad. It shouldn't be hard to tell me anything anymore, right?

Nick: Okay, you know how I told you that I wasn't a virgin?

Chelsea: Yeah, so? I mean, that's fine. It's great. It'd be kind of weird if you were at your age, right? Oh, my God. You were lying about that, weren't you? You are still a virgin. I knew it.

Dr. Kraft: It's okay, Mr. Johnson. That's why we're here -- to figure out why you've been doing these things.

Steve: You got me filed under "psycho" already.

Dr. Kraft: On the contrary, I marked down obstinate, but that's as far as we've gotten. This is only our first session.

Steve: Do you know how many shrinks I've seen, Dr. Ella Kraft? So many I can't even count. And still no help. I thought the cure was gonna be when I got my memory back. That's when everything started going to hell.

Dr. Kraft: Don't you want your old life back?

Steve: "Old life"? [Laughs] Even if I did, I can't have it if I'm stuck in here, can I?

Dr. Kraft: Well, the length of your stay with us is entirely up to you.

Steve: Okay, I want out right now.

Dr. Kraft: You have to want help before we can give it to you.

Steve: I'm not crazy.

Dr. Kraft: Fine. But when a man who can be very reasonable and sympathetic does some very unreasonable and unsympathetic things that he cannot explain, it seems to suggest there might be a problem. Don't you agree?

Steve: Yeah. I'm insane. Okay, just leave me in here to rot, to die. I don't care. Just leave me the hell alone.

Dr. Kraft: No one is judging you, Mr. Johnson.

Steve: The judge judged me.

Dr. Kraft: He gave you the benefit of the doubt. So did the D.A., and so did your wife, Kayla.

Steve: I don't want to talk about her.

Dr. Kraft: Why?

E.J.: Kayla, you will forgive me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that your husband was in a secure facility so he could be prevented from harming himself or others.

Kayla: Steve was tortured and brainwashed before he came back to Salem. You were there.

E.J.: Is that what he told you?

Kayla: Yes, it is. And you know what? I believe him.

E.J.: Okay, well, whilst I can understand that you would rather believe a crazy man than believe a DiMera --

Kayla: He wasn't lying.

E.J.: No, of course he wasn't, darling. Lying would have required some kind of rational thought. Whereas we both know, your husband is a guest in a state mental institution.

Kayla: Because of what you did to him.

E.J.: I had him committed? No, that was you, sweetheart.

Kayla: You know, someday somebody's gonna wipe that smirk off your face.

E.J.: Indeed. In the meantime, and for the record, I never set eyes on the two of you before I came to Salem last year.

Kayla: You are a liar.

E.J.: And anything else that Steve says are the ravings of a madman.

Celeste: You remember Tony DiMera, the way he courted you? What do you think he wanted, Samantha? It was Tony's greatest disappointment in life that he never produced a male heir. Because as a DiMera, one's chief purpose in life is to raise a child to continue their twisted legacy. And as much as Stefano did love Alexandra, she was a woman, you see. So when it came time to choose between his children --

Sami: He chose E.J.

Celeste: Oh, yeah, and he cut Alexandra right out of his life.

Sami: What a sick, twisted, cold bastard.

Celeste: That's who they are, Samantha. And the DiMeras will stop at nothing to protect the legacy. E.J. needs to have a son to continue the line. And God help that child.

Sami: We're talking about my child.

Celeste: Stefano took Elvis Jr. away from his mother because he wanted to ensure that there would be a strong leader to continue on when he was gone. And now...he wants to secure the next generation, Samantha... with your son.

Chelsea: Look, Nick, I understand why you'd want me to think that you've had experience.

Nick: You know how you just said that it would be awkward at my age for me to still be a virgin?

Chelsea: Okay, look. Um... I am still a virgin at my age. But I think that it might make it a little more special if it was the first time for both of us.

Nick: Oh, God, Chelsea. You don't know how much that would mean to me.

Chelsea: I think I do.

Nick: I just want to hold you and kiss you forever.

Chelsea: Sounds good to me.

Nick: The problem is, I wasn't lying about that. I was with a woman...just once.

Chelsea: Okay, um...well, at least one of us will know what we're doing.

Nick: Okay, but, um... it wasn't just...a woman.

Chelsea: Yeah?

Nick: She was a woman.

Chelsea: They usually are, Nick.

Nick: No, I mean... she was...

Chelsea: Older, right?

Nick: Right, but not -- she wasn't just older.

Chelsea: Oh, my God.

Sami: So, E.J. decided he wants to turn my child into the bad seed? Maybe that's why he picked me after all 'cause he figured my kid would already be halfway there. God, I just wish I had told Lucas the truth.

Celeste: And why didn't you?

Sami: I have thought about it like a million times. I just -- I just can't find the words. I mean, half the time I think that he'll believe E.J.'s version, and the other half, he'll hate himself for what I had to do to save his life. And either way it doesn't matter. I mean, I've kept this lie for so long that he'll never trust me to tell him the truth.

Celeste: Samantha, don't you realize that your fiancé ditching you at the altar again is the least of your concerns at this point? E.J. Wells is in your life, girl, and he is here to stay unless you do something about it.

Sami: What am I supposed to do? If I don't get the DNA test, he will tell Lucas everything, and then that's it.

Celeste: Well, you must find out the truth, if only for your own peace of mind.

Sami: "Peace of mind"? Are you crazy? What if I am carrying the DiMera spawn?

Celeste: That's your child, Samantha. And you will love him as I loved Alexandra.

Sami: Celeste, you know the DiMeras. You know them better than anyone. You know what I'm going through, don't you? You got Lexie out. There must be a way for me. Please, just tell me. Tell me what to do.

Celeste: Don't you think that's a lot to ask, given what you did to my daughter?

Dr. Kraft: I didn't mean to upset you.

Steve: Sure you did. What is this, good cop now?

Dr. Kraft: Why don't you want to talk to me about your relationship with Kayla?

Steve: Because it's over. Is that a good enough reason for you?

Dr. Kraft: Why do you say it's over?

Steve: I told you, I'm not talking about her!

Joe: Dr. Kraft, is there a problem in here?

Dr. Kraft: No, Joe, we're fine. Thanks.

Joe: Okay, you yell if you need me. [Door closes]

Steve: Go on, that was your cue. You can leave.

Dr. Kraft: Oh, no, we're not finished.

Steve: I am.

Dr. Kraft: You did get your memory back, Mr. Johnson. The answers are all accessible.

Steve: Well, great. Then I don't need you, do I?

Dr. Kraft: The reasons that you did what you did are buried deep in your subconscious.

Steve: Oh, here we go. The psychobabble begins.

Dr. Kraft: Don't you want the answers? What do you have to lose?

Steve: You have no idea.

Dr. Kraft: Enlighten me, then.

Steve: I know a little something about your racket.

Dr. Kraft: Hmm.

Steve: Here's how it goes -- shrink asks a question. You can't answer it. Shrink suggests what you should have said. You say it. Shrink says it's wrong. Proves you need to keep getting shrunk. Pay at the desk on your way out.

Dr. Kraft: You do have quite a flattering opinion of my profession, don't you? [Cellphone rings] Excuse me a moment. Dr. Kraft. I'm with a patient. Can you have her leave a message on my voice mail? Thanks. I'll be there in a minute.

Max: Oh, my God, no!

Abby: What are you doing?

Max: What are you doing?

Abby: I'm fixing a brake light.

Max: You know what? You are the best employee that I've ever had.

Abby: Well, that's not saying much.

Max: Well... um...I don't even pay you. I don't know how I do it, really.

Abby: Well, it keeps me from doing my calculus homework. And it takes my mind off of things I don't want to think about.

Max: Oh. Let me help you.

Abby: Thanks.

Max: No, thank you. I don't know what I'd do without you. So, um...what kind of things do you not want to think about?

Abby: Just girl stuff.

Max: Oh, right, right.

Abby: Speaking of which, have you heard from Mimi?

Max: Um, no, I-I talked to her little brother, though.

Abby: Conner?

Max: Yeah. He said she's having a real rough time. Doesn't do anything all day. She just acts kind of lost.

Abby: It'll get better, Max. I know that you're worried about her.

Max: No, but it's more than that. I feel like this is all my fault.

Sami: Okay, so, if you don't want to help me, what are you doing here?

Celeste: I never said I wouldn't help you, Samantha.

Sami: Okay, well, then, I'm a bit confused.

Celeste: My daughter's gone. My beautiful precious child is gone. Alexandra was my shining light. So make no mistake about it, Samantha, I am not your friend and I will never forgive you for what you did to my daughter. But as much as I may dislike you, my hatred for E.J. and Stefano run much deeper.

Sami: So I'm the lesser evil?

Celeste: Oh, thoughtless, yes. Impulsive, reckless, cruel at times? Oh, undoubtedly. But I will reserve the word "evil" for those who truly warrant it.

Sami: I will do whatever it takes to protect my child.

Celeste: I had a feeling you would say that.

Sami: So, tell me. What do I do?

Celeste: That depends on how far you're willing to go.

Kayla: I'm sure you think this is amusing -- playing dumb and toying with me. But you know what? History is on my side. As many times as Stefano tried to torment my family, the Bradys’’, he ended up losing in the end.

E.J.: Did he? How's that?

Kayla: He never succeeded in taking my husband away from me. And neither will you.

E.J.: Kayla, your own husband just tried to kill you.

Kayla: No, excuse me. That was you.

E.J.: Oh, I see. With my brainwashing, right? My mind control. I should really quit working here. Maybe I should take my show on the road to Vegas. I hear you can make a fortune as an illusionist.

Kayla: Making Steve kidnap John and take out his kidney was not an illusion.

E.J.: Now, why would I go and do a thing like that?

Kayla: I have no idea. But trust me, I will find out.

Steve: You know, I might be willing to be a good boy if you give me something I want.

Dr. Kraft: I'm not here to negotiate.

Steve: Come on, I don't get no sticker charts or no candy rewards or something for behaving myself?

Dr. Kraft: Is that what you want, candy?

Steve: I want to get the hell out of this dump. And you know the rules. So what's it gonna take?

Dr. Kraft: It's simple. You have to get well first.

Steve: Define "well."

Dr. Kraft: You have to be willing to work hard and explore the reasons for your actions. Now, I know you're afraid.

Steve: You know what? You don't know anything about me.

Dr. Kraft: But the judge is gonna want to see genuine remorse for the people you hurt.

Steve: Oh, so now the judge has to read my mind.

Dr. Kraft: No, I do. If you won't talk to me, that is.

Steve: Come on. What's the bottom line?

Dr. Kraft: Mr. Johnson, I'm the bottom line. I answer the judge's questions. I'm the one who recommends when or if you walk out of this place.

Steve: Okay. So it's your butt I have to kiss. All right. Assume the position.

Dr. Kraft: A sense of humor is good.

Steve: Who says I'm kidding? [Laughs] I was kidding. I'm sorry. I know I'm being a pain in the ass. This is just hard for me, you know?

Dr. Kraft: I realize that.

Steve: But if you think you can help me, I'm willing to try. But I think it'd be a whole lot easier if I wasn't dressed up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Don't you agree?

Dr. Kraft: That's clever, Mr. Johnson, but fine. I'll let you out of the straitjacket on one condition -- you have to be medicated.

Steve: No freakin' way.

Steve: You want to drug me into oblivion so I'll sleep the rest of my life away and I won't be a bother to anybody.

Dr. Kraft: We're talking about a mild sedative here, Mr. Johnson.

Steve: I don't need it.

Dr. Kraft: All right, it's either that or the straitjacket. Your choice.

Steve: [Sighs] Okay, I'll take a mild sedative.

Dr. Kraft: Good for you.

Steve: I'm making progress already, huh?

Dr. Kraft: Maybe you are.

Steve: Mmm. Yummy. Mm-hmm. Ahh. Down the gullet.

Dr. Kraft: Open your mouth.

Steve: What?

Dr. Kraft: You were an orderly. You know all the tricks. Open your mouth so I can see if you swallowed the pill.

Abby: You didn't even know Mimi when any of this happened.

Max: When she killed her father, no. But if it hadn't had been for me, she would have never had to know the truth.

Abby: So, are you telling me that you deliberately got kidnaped so you could end up in the church with a skeleton? That's crazy, Max.

Max: It is what it is.

Abby: Why are you torturing yourself over something you had no control over? Don't you think Mimi would have eventually remembered? And what if it happened later? What if she had a husband or a family? She could have had a lot more to lose. At least now she can get help and move on.

Max: How do you ever move on from something like this?

Abby: Well, you went through some horrible stuff as a kid, and look at you now.

Max: Yeah, look at me now. You know, when I met Mimi, she was having these hard times with Shawn and her mom. All I wanted to do was help. But instead, I let her down. What's new, huh? When the going gets tough, Max Brady gets going.

Nick: You know. Oh, my God.

Chelsea: Yeah. She was married? Nick, you had an affair with a married guy's wife?

Nick: No. No, Chelsea, she wasn't married. It was one time. I wouldn't do that.

Chelsea: Okay, you know what? Let's just drop it.

Nick: No, no.

Chelsea: Look, Nick, I don't care where you met her or how it happened. I don't care if she was a hooker or if you met her at a bar one night. I mean, it's in the past, and I think that the only thing we should be looking at is you and me and our future together.

Nick: Do you mean that?

Chelsea: Yeah. Look, I have spent the last two years of my life trying to put stuff behind me. And...I'm finally moving on. And I want to do that with you.

Nick: Me, too.

Chelsea: Okay, good. Good, so, then, um, the only two people that matter are you and me. Just us. From now until forever. God, I'm starting to sound like Lonely Splicer. I'm starting to sound like you.

Nick: I couldn't have said it any better.

Billie: Nick. You didn't.

Abby: Max, I don't get it. Why are you being so hard on yourself?

Max: Because when Mimi started going through this, the first thing I did was start putting distance between us. I did the same thing with Stephanie when she got in her accident. And even Chelsea. When she finally starts telling the truth, that's when I break up with her. I guess it's my M.O.

Abby: But this wasn't your problem to deal with.

Max: When Bonnie said she was gonna take the rap and send Mimi off to Arizona, I should have said something, done something, gone with her. I don't know.

Abby: It wasn't your choice, Max.

Max: But I encouraged her. And you want to know something? I wanted her to go. Pretty bad, huh?

Abby: No. Pretty honest.

Max: Oh, that's -- that's me. Good old honest Max.

Abby: Well, you were with me that night she called.

Max: I was telling you how much of a drag she was.

Abby: But you still went there anyway. You didn't back down. You didn't run away. You went to her house, you put your arm around her, and you made a horrible night just a little bit better.

Max: Yeah, so what? She knew that --

Abby: She knew what?

Max: She wanted to make it easier for me. When it was time to go, she said, "well, I guess this is it." No "would you come with me? Would you stay a little longer?" She knew it was over for us. She let me off the hook.

Abby: Well, did you ever think that she might have had something to do with it? Mimi had a horrible year. She lost her baby. She lost her husband, her best friend. Her brother's in jail. I mean, there's really not a lot for Mimi here in Salem, except bad memories.

Max: And me.

Abby: Well, if you weren't ready to commit to her 100%, who knows? Maybe she wasn't, either. I think you did each other a favor.

Sami: Okay. Okay, you're right. I'll get the amnio. And if it turns out that Lucas isn't the father, I'll just find a doctor somewhere to forge fake test results.

Celeste: That's your speciality, isn't it, Samantha? Well, at least you can't blackmail my daughter into lying for you this time. Cold comfort that is. Do you think E.J. wouldn't be able to see through a forgery?

Sami: You're right. All right, so what do I do? I mean, if the baby is E.J.'s, what do I do?

Celeste: You stop thinking about short-term answers for long-term problems. Darling...you need a permanent solution.

Kayla: Everything you do is calculated, E.J. So, what's this about? Was this just a test to determine Steve's obedience for the DiMeras? Or was there something more specific?

E.J.: I wish that I could explain Steve's erratic behavior, Kayla, but I can't imagine why he would harvest another man's kidney, let alone a man who's been in a coma for all these weeks, but that is something that Steven needs to sort out with the doctors.

Kayla: Do you know Steve's father? He was a monster, too.

E.J.: Hmm. Well, maybe that would explain some of Steve's behavior.

Kayla: Well, Steve is the kindest man I've ever met. So he went against what he was born into. And so could you.

E.J.: And what? You'd be the one to save me, would you? That is, after all, your calling, is it not, doctor?

Kayla: Not just mine. You know John Black, the man that you shot and harvested his kidney? He took care of you when you were a baby. He loved you, and he didn't want to give you up. He's your family, too, E.J.

E.J.: Yes. And it's a great shame what happened to him.

Kayla: Why'd you shoot him in cold blood?

E.J.: I did not.

Kayla: Why do you insist on being the same bastard your father was?

E.J.: My father is beside the point. What's really worth thinking about here is the fact that I think you've been spending far too much time with Steve. It appears, Kayla, that his delusions are becoming contagious.

Kayla: I am gonna prove that you're responsible for this.

E.J.: I'm sure you will. But I would be careful...if I were you. Because accidents, Kayla, can happen to people with the best of intentions.

Dr. Kraft: Don't touch the doctor. That is a rule.

Steve: What are you gonna do, call big Joe in here to rescue you?

Dr. Kraft: Yes, as a matter of fact. Joe!

Steve: Oh, no, come on. Don't throw me in the dungeon again. I'm sorry.

Dr. Kraft: Joe, would you please remove Mr. Johnson's straitjacket?

Steve: Whoa. Hey, oh. Damn.

Dr. Kraft: Not what you were expecting, huh?

Steve: No, but thanks.

Dr. Kraft: I think we both want the same things here, Steve. And a little cooperation goes a long way. You feel better?

Steve: Yeah, I do. I feel -- ooh.

Dr. Kraft: Whoa!

Steve: I'm just...

Dr. Kraft: Are you all right?

Steve: ...A little dizzy. Oh! Ah.

Chelsea: Mom, what are you talking about?

Billie: You didn't tell her. I-I -- you looked upset. I just thought --

Chelsea: Nick didn't tell me what?

Billie: Nothing. Nothing, nothing at all. You know, I'm just gonna leave you two alone.

Chelsea: No, Mom, wait. What's going on?

Chelsea: Hey, Mom, do you have any sham-- hey, what are you doing here again?

Chelsea: Oh, my God. It was you?

Abby: Max, I'm sorry. I know you don't want to talk about it, and I'm probably not helping.

Max: No, you are. Really.

Abby: If you want to be alone...

Max: No, no, no. I'm glad you're here. I just -- thanks for everything -- your advice, your way of putting things. And you're not too shabby with a wrench, either.

Abby: Okay, sweet talker, what do you want?

Max: Well, if you don't mind, I was wondering if you could help me get the bendix gear out of the engine.

Abby: Sure.

Max: Here we go.

Abby: So, what do you want me to do?

Max: Well, you read my mind. I just want you to hold that light for me.

Abby: Okay.

Chelsea: It was your belt under the couch? He was your mystery lover?

Billie: Chelsea, it's not what you think.

Chelsea: I don't -- I don't believe this. You let me say all those things, and you told me all those lies, and you let me dream about you.

Billie: Chelsea, it's not Nick's fault. Please, let me explain.

Chelsea: Explain? Explain what? Oh, my God. I can't believe this. The two of you?

Nick: I am so, so sorry.

Steve: Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Dr. Kraft: It's okay. He just lost his balance.

Steve: I'm sorry. I don't know what happened.

Dr. Kraft: Look, why don't you get him seated?

Steve: Oh. Ow, man. Easy.

Dr. Kraft: It's okay.

Steve: I'm sorry. I don't know what happened. Maybe it's the meds you gave me.

Dr. Kraft: Yes, it's possible. Um, you know what? Why don't you get some rest and I'll see you tomorrow? I'll give you the grand tour.

Steve: Great, I can't wait. Thanks. Thanks, really. I mean it.

Dr. Kraft: Okay, take care of yourself.

Steve: I always do.

[Cellphone rings]

E.J.: Hello?

Steve: I'm in hell, and you got to get me out of here.

Sami: Well, Celeste, I am all ears. What kind of permanent solution could there be?

Celeste: You know that E.J. would not be deterred by lies, fake medical reports, or even real ones showing that Lucas is the father. He chose you to bear his child. And if it doesn't work this time, you know he's gonna try it again.

Sami: And that is exactly why I was begging Lucas to let us leave Salem for good.

Celeste: Oh, Samantha, you can't hide from E.J. Darling, your only solution is to get rid of him once and for all.

Sami: And how am I supposed to do that?

Celeste: You kill him.

Chelsea: What mother would do this to her own daughter?

Billie: I made a mistake.

Chelsea: You are nothing to me.

E.J.: Since you don't seem to be able to handle your own wife, I need to take some matters into my own hands.

Steve: If you touch one hair on her head, I will kill you.

Celeste: In the name of my daughter, we are going to rid the world of Stefano's heir.
