Nick: Abby. Abby, you didn't leave, did you?
Abby: Of course I didn't leave. Look, how could I after I get a message saying, "don't move. Don't go anywhere. I have something important to tell you"?
Nick: You are not gonna believe this. No one's gonna believe this. I don't even believe this.
Abby: Okay, tell me.
Nick: Okay, okay, all right.
Abby: Nick, aunt Maggie needs help at chez rouge. You have five seconds to say something other than "all right" and "okay."
Nick: Okay, okay.
Abby: One Mississippi. Two Mississippi.
Nick: All right, what do I want? What do I want more than anything in the world? What do I want?
Abby: A seat on the space shuttle.
Nick: Yes, but what do I want that I have like zero chance of ever getting?
Abby: A kiss from Chelsea.
Abby: Wait, Nick.
Nick: I am the man! Yeah!
Abby: Wait, Chelsea kissed you? Chelsea Brady actually kissed you?
Nick: It doesn't make any sense.
Abby: You're right. Nick, something's wrong.
Nick: W-what? Don't jinx this, Abby.
Abby: Okay, did she kiss you like kiss you or kiss you like aunt Maggie at Christmas?
Nick: She kissed me like
kissed me kissed me, like mind-blowing, knee-buckling, lip-to-lip life-changing event.
Willow: Excuse me, Mr. Wells, may I speak with you?
E.J.: Sorry, I'm meeting someone.
Willow: It will just take a minute.
Willow: No, no -- willow.
Willow: I need a job.
E.J.: I'm sorry. I can't help you.
Willow: But, please, Mr. Wells, I'm really desperate.
E.J.: Listen, young lady, Shawn Brady was a disloyal and dishonest employee. Why would I want to give his girlfriend a job?
Willow: But I'm not his girlfriend anymore. He dumped me, and I need a job. I'm pregnant with his child.
E.J.: Are you, now? Have you spoken with his family about this?
Willow: Kind of. Hope gave me money to see the doctor, but to be honest, it's not quite enough. I need enough money to save for a nice place. I'm staying at the "y" right now, but as soon as I start showing, I won't be able to stay there anymore.
E.J.: Excuse me. My appointment's here. Stick around. Maybe I can help you.
Lucas: What happened?
Lucas: Well, you were fine when I left. Everything was fine. We were talking about our wedding.
Sami: Well, I changed my mind.
Lucas: About us getting married?
Sami: No, no. How could you even think that?
Lucas: How can I not think that? You send me off to go invite my mom, and then when I come back, you don't want any part of it.
Sami: Well, I --
Lucas: Maybe you don't want my mom to come. Fine, I'll tell her right now.
Sami: No, this isn't about Kate, okay? It's about us. It's about us protecting our family.
Lucas: From what?
Sami: Look, I don't have time to explain. We'll just go get will, and we'll get out of here.
Lucas: Listen to me. I'd do anything for you. Just tell me what the hell's got you so scared.
Announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.
E.J.: Hey, young lady, allow me. My, don't you look delicious enough to eat today.
Billie: What nice manners you have...for a wolf.
E.J.: Wolves get very bad press.
Billie: They're not the only ones.
E.J.: Billie, do not believe everything you read in the newspapers, especially about me.
Billie: I don't. Bo, on the other hand...
E.J.: Ah. I take it your meeting didn't go very well.
Billie: Actually, you'd be wrong. He was blown away by century cell. He loved the fact that you can access this through your cellphone. He loved the fact that it was afFordable. He just didn't love you.
E.J.: Hmm. And I'm assuming by extension he didn't like my company's involvement.
Billie: [Sighs] You know, he was all set to go forward with century cell, give it a trial run until he found out that mythic was its backer. I'm sorry. I had to be honest with him.
E.J.: No, Billie, please. I'm sorry. You put all this effort into this product, and I'm standing in the way of its success.
Billie: No, no, I mean, you and Bo, you don't get along. It's no big deal.
E.J.: It is a big deal.
Billie: So, do you think the board of directors will pass?
E.J.: I don't know. I don't know. Bo's testimonial certainly would have helped get it the green light.
Billie: Damn it. I knew I should have pushed harder.
E.J.: Go easy on yourself there, young lady.
Billie: No, I can't. You know what? This is too important to me. Isn't there something else we can do?
E.J.: Well, I mean, I'll talk to the board of directors. I'll tell them we're still test-marketing the product. I have a feeling that they'll understand.
Billie: But you know what? I am friends with Roman also. And he's a cop. I could ask him.
E.J.: No. If Bo wasn't willing to endorse century cell because of me, Roman's not going to, either.
Billie: [Sighs] Yeah, maybe you're right. You know, Bo is a really good guy, but sometime he can just -- he can be so --
E.J.: Bloody closed-minded.
Billie: Yes, that's it.
E.J.: Yeah, some men, they like to hunt ducks. Bo Brady likes to hunt me. It seems to be his obsession.
Billie: Yeah, he still thinks that you hired Patrick to kidnap hope.
E.J.: You know, Billie, if I were half as evil and powerful as Bo Brady says that I am, you'd think that he would want to have century cell in his house, I mean, to keep the boogeyman here at bay.
Billie: Hey, do you happen to have one of those boogeymen on your payroll? That's too bad, because if you did, we could actually scare Bo into using this product. Wouldn't that be good?
E.J.: That would be a good idea.
Lucas: Why are you so scared?
Sami: I'm not. Why do you keep saying that?
Lucas: 'Cause you're shaking like a leaf. Come here.
Sami: No, Lucas, please. Please, let's just go.
Lucas: Listen to me for a second, all right? Please, sit. You're a wreck.
Sami: Lucas, I just really want you to do this for me, please.
Lucas: You really want to yank will out of high school? You want to do that? You want to go to a new town, a whole new place, start a new life with a job, with a new baby?
Sami: No, I think we could see it as an adventure. Please.
Lucas: Did somebody threaten you? Did they threaten will?
Sami: Lucas, I'll tell you everything. I promise I will, but once we're on the road, once we're out of here, okay?
Lucas: No, no, no, no, no. You've been all over the place lately. I mean, one minute you're okay with this, and the next minute you're terrified. You're scared of somebody, and I think I know who it is. E.J. Wells?
Abby: Look, Nick, I am really happy for you. You have to tell me everything.
Nick: Okay, all right. Okay. I really need to stop saying "okay."
Nick: Okay, so, me and Chelsea are studying, right? And then all of a sudden, we start yodeling.
Nick: Yeah, I don't know. It's like a math thing. Anyway, we start yodeling, and then I guess being so close together, our pheromones became increasingly attracted to each other.
Nick: Yeah, pheromones, as in the Greek "pherein" meaning "to carry," "mone" as in "hormone." It's a chemical substance humans and animals produce that causes sexual attraction. Anyway...
Abby: Well, you and Chelsea have been in phero range before, right?
Abby: Well, she never kissed you then.
Nick: Right, exactly. And that's what's weird, because I used to be Nick Fallon, Mr. Totally resistible. Now I'm Nick Fallon --
Abby: Nick, I hate saying this, but I think Chelsea's just playing you. You know, trying to pay you back for that Shane Patton thing.
Nick: No, no, no, no, no. She's way over that.
Abby: No, she doesn't get over stuff that easily. She's still trying to get even with roger stubbens.
Nick: Who is roger stubbens?
Abby: He stole her lunch money in the first grade.
Nick: Well, if roger stubbens had come to Chelsea's rescue and saved her from dr. Rebert, maybe she would have kissed him, too.
Abby: No, Nick. You still don't understand. Look, I've known Chelsea for a really, really long time. And she may be grateful to you for getting rid of dr. Rebert, but that doesn't mean she forgave you for the whole Shane Patton thing.
Nick: I explained all of this to her, Abby. She totally gets it.
Abby: She gets that you had a huge crush on her. I mean, trust me, she will never know why you made her fall in love with a cyber Cyrano.
Nick: I made a mistake, Abby.
Abby: Yeah, you did, Nick. And now she's getting you back for it.
Nick: I don't understand why you can't understand that she kissed me because she wanted to.
Abby: Because. Look, Nick, I'm sorry, but you're not her type. Chelsea's vulnerable. She needs a guy who can protect her.
Nick: I can protect her. I proved that.
Abby: That's not the only thing. Trust is an even bigger thing with Chelsea.
Nick: She can trust me.
Abby: You lied about Shane Patton.
Nick: Yeah, I know. And that's why I need to tell her the truth about everything now, Abby. No more secrets.
Abby: Everything? Nick, like what?
Nick: Like I slept with her mom. Closed captioning of this program is brought to you in part by Olivier fresh pastas and sauces. Share your passion.
Abby: Nick, you cannot tell Chelsea you slept with Billie.
Nick: She wants honesty.
Abby: Not that kind of honesty. She's gonna hate you if you tell her the truth.
Nick: She'll be angry. She'll be very angry, but just for a while.
Abby: Yeah, try forever.
Nick: I will take the consequences, Abby, but I won't lie.
Abby: Nick, I'm not asking you to lie. Just keep your mouth shut.
Nick: Like I did with Shane Patton? Not telling is lying. I'm not gonna make that mistake again.
E.J.: Mythic's just completed its internal strategy report, and we've discovered, actually, we have a "bad guy" shortage. So we're interviewing at the moment, but I have to be honest, the potential candidates are falling well below the Darth Vader standards that we're looking for.
Billie: [Laughs] Okay, I gotcha. Hey, I've got a good idea. Why don't I break into Bo's house, huh? One little burglary and it'll completely convince him to use our system, just like that.
E.J.: Why, Billie reed, I had no idea you were so devious. I love it.
Billie: Oh, don't get your hopes up. I used to be devious, but, no, my law-breaking days are over.
E.J.: More's the pity, eh? I bet you made a very enchanting outlaw.
Billie: We were talking business, remember?
Willow: Mr. Wells, I don't mean to rush you, but I need to get going.
E.J.: That's quite all right, willow. I'll be with you in just a moment. Sorry. That's Shawn Brady's ex-girlfriend. Poor thing's pregnant and penniless. I promised I'd help her find a job.
Billie: Uh, go right ahead. I have some phone calls to make anyway.
Billie: By the way... I think you're doing a good thing.
E.J.: Shh, all right? I don't want anyone knowing that Salem's number-one evildoer got a soft touch.
Willow: Mr. Wells.
E.J.: I have a job for you.
Willow: Great. What is it?
E.J.: Let's go outside, eh? And this is just between the two of us.
Sami: Why is everything always about E.J. With you?
Lucas: Because it is with you. Obviously you guys have a history together.
Sami: But it's just that. It's a history. It's in the past.
Lucas: No, it's not. Every time you see him, you get a little weird. You get crazy, start flipping out. So if he won't go anywhere, fine, we'll move. We'll get another apartment. I don't have to work at mythic. I'll do whatever I want, find another job in town.
Sami: But, Lucas, it's not just E.J. He's not the only reason to leave town.
Lucas: Then what is?
Sami: I told you.
Lucas: And I told you. I know you. I know when you're lying to me. Something happened when I wasn't here. What was it?
Sami: Nothing. Nothing happened.
Lucas: Nothing happened, huh? You gonna pull that on me again? We're back to that? Great. Square one. Nice. I've had it.
Sami: Lucas, I love you.
Lucas: Then be honest with me. Tell me what's got you so damn scared. I'll do whatever you want. I'll do whatever you want. Just tell me why I'm doing it.
Sami: I can't.
Lucas: All right, fine. Then I can't marry you.
Willow: About that job, Mr. Wells --
E.J.: You know, willow, I think perhaps this was a mistake. Once Shawn hears you're pregnant, he's gonna come back to help you, and I'll have stuck my neck out for nothing.
Willow: Shawn's not coming back. Last time I saw him, he was jumping off a cruise ship with belle and their kid.
E.J.: He was, really? Where was that, Caribbean?
Willow: No, about 1,000 miles from Australia.
E.J.: I take it he's presumed dead.
Willow: Well, his family wants everybody to think so, but I'm not buying it. Anyway, Shawn would never come back, so here I am alone, raising our child, so, please, Mr. Wells, what is the job?
E.J.: Well, it's really just a day's employment. But it pays very well.
Willow: Okay, well, I guess that's better than nothing.
E.J.: Okay, well, turn around. Turn around. Now bend over. Bend over, sweetheart.
Willow: What are you doing?
E.J.: [Chuckles] I'm writing you a check. What's your surname, willow?
E.J.: Stark, okay.
Willow: So, does this mean that I'm hired?
E.J.: The job is yours, if you want it. There's a good girl. Up you go. Now...do you want to see how much you'll be earning?
Willow: I thought you said this was just a day's employment.
E.J.: Not even.
Willow: Well, this is two years' salary. What exactly would I be doing?
E.J.: Something that shouldn't be much of a stretch for a person like you. I want you to break into somebody's house for me.
Abby: Nick, I think it's great that you want to be honest with Chelsea. You should be, but just be honest starting now. Don't tell her every little secret about your past.
Nick: I slept with her mother, Abby. That's not a little secret. That's a bomb waiting to explode.
Abby: Nick, Chelsea is gonna freak out.
Nick: That's why I need to tell her the truth myself. It'll be bad, but if she hears it from someone else, it'll be worse.
Abby: Who else knows? You and I and Billie are the only ones.
Nick: Look, if I learned one thing from this whole mess it's that lies don't stay in the box. If I tell Chelsea myself, I still have a chance.
Abby: At what?
Nick: Not losing her.
Abby: This is what this whole thing's about?
Nick: Well, what did you think? I've loved Chelsea from the second I saw her. Of course that's what this is about.
Abby: You can't do this to them just because you have a stupid crush.
Nick: A crush? Abby, there is only one Chelsea in the world for me. I will do whatever it takes to keep her.
Abby: Even ruin her relationship with her mom?
Nick: No, of course that's not what I want. But if that's what happens because I told the truth --
Abby: Then it's not your problem, huh? What happened to you, Nick?
Nick: Where are you going? Abby!
Sami: You don't want to marry me?
Lucas: I don't want to continue with all the lies and the secrets. That's all we ever do. I'm sick of it, all right? It hurts too damn much.
Sami: So if I don't come up with some big, mysterious reason for why I want to leave town, you're just -- you're just gonna walk away from me?
Lucas: I don't want a big, mysterious reason. I want the truth, all right? That's what I want. We can't do that. All we do is lie to each other. I'm not gonna do it anymore.
Sami: I'm not lying. I'm not trying to hide anything.
Lucas: Don't do it again and start with that same crap. Really, stop it.
Sami: Every time you look at me, you see my past. You see every mistake I have ever made.
Lucas: No. That's not true.
Sami: I will never be able to escape the fact that I am... I'm Sami Brady. I'll never be able to escape my past, will I?
Lucas: Stop it, all right? I have a bad past, too.
Sami: Not like mine. Everybody always expects me to screw up.
Lucas: I don't.
Sami: Oh, yes, you do. And the worst part is I never let you down, do I? Lucas...I can't. I'm sorry. I can't keep living this lie. I'm -- I'm sorry.
Lucas: Living what lie? What are you talking about?
Sami: I can't. You'll hate me.
Lucas: I won't.
Sami: Lucas, every time I screw up...you always take back your love. You -- you don't --
Lucas: I'm sorry. I never realized that I did that. I'm sorry, okay?
Sami: It's me, all right? I am not perfect. I'm a mess, and I-I have these habits, and they're horrible, and I can't --
Lucas: Listen to me -- stay focused on our problem. I don't want to talk about the past, all right?
Sami: I am the past! I make these horrible mistakes, and everyone in this town knows it! Your mother leads the pack. Even my dad -- he's always --
Lucas: Wait a minute. Your dad is proud of you. He gave you an award in front of everybody.
Sami: Because he was so shocked that I could actually do the right thing.
Lucas: No, honey, he was proud of you. He wanted to show everybody that you've changed.
Sami: But I haven't. That's what I'm trying to tell you. I haven't changed. I am...me. And no amount of awards is going to change that. Lucas, you...you can't ask me to bare my soul to you, please. If you love me, then you -- then you just have to accept me.
Willow: I'm not breaking into somebody's house. Are you crazy? I'm not gonna have my baby in jail.
E.J.: You're not gonna get caught. This is a simple smash-and-grab, willow.
Willow: Who and what?
E.J.: Bo Brady's house. Hope's jewelry.
Willow: You are crazy. I am not breaking into a cop's house.
E.J.: No? Not for all this money? Hmm?
Willow: What if something went wrong?
E.J.: It won't. This is gonna take you an hour. One hour...you can have a down payment on a two-bedroom house for you and your baby. You can get yourself a job. Let's be honest, sweetheart. This isn't the first time you've broken the law.
Willow: Forget it. You know what? I'm just gonna look for a job in the want ads.
E.J.: Yeah, you're right. That's a good idea. I bet there's a lot of jobs out there for pregnant ex-hookers.
Maggie: Ooh. Oh, what happened to you?
Maggie: Okay. So, um [Clears throat] Then grab a napkin and start folding. Does this "nothing" have a name?
Abby: Yeah, jerk. All he cares about is getting what he wants. Break someone's heart? Too bad.
Maggie: So, what happened to Mimi Lockhart?
Maggie: Did he dump her?
Abby: No, she moved out west to be with her younger brother. Do you think I'm talking about Max Brady?
Maggie: Well, aren't you?
Maggie: Oh. Oh, well, honey, I-I-I thought he was a heartbreaker. Wait a minute. You're not gonna start seeing him now that Mimi is gone, are you?
Abby: Can we not talk about this? Nick is the jerk I'm mad at.
Maggie: Nick. Nick, our Nick?
Abby: Yes, our Nick.
Maggie: Well, you're gonna have to give me a little more information than that. 'Cause, I mean, what did he do?
Abby: It's not what he did. It's what he's going to do.
Maggie: Which is?
Abby: Ruin two people's lives.
Maggie: Look, this is probably the wrong advice since I have no idea what you're talking about, but if Nick hasn't done whatever it is he was supposed to do, why can't you stop him?
Abby: Oh, I've tried. He won't even listen.
Maggie: Well, there must be someone who can get through to him.
Abby: Um, aunt Maggie, I am gonna come back here and fold every single napkin, but I have to go. And, by the way, you are a genius.
Maggie: If I'm such a genius, why can't I make that child see that Max Brady is bad news?
Ms. Ashwell: YWCA. Director speaking. May I help you?
E.J.: Yes, I wonder if you could tell me your policy on children, please?
Ms. Ashwell: We only rent to single women, sir. Children aren't allowed.
E.J.: Oh, dear.
Ms. Ashwell: Is there a problem?
E.J.: Not for me. But there definitely is for my friend...willow stark.
Ms. Ashwell: Oh. She's been staying here off and on for months. I know willow quite well.
E.J.: Oh, then you must already know that she's pregnant.
Nick: Aunt Maggie, is Abby here?
Maggie: She just left.
Maggie: Look, what is going on with you two?
Nick: What did she say?
Maggie: That you were selfish and a jerk.
Nick: She didn't say why?
Maggie: No, but somebody better tell me.
Nick: [Sighs] Aunt Maggie, I'm sorry. I can't. It's a secret.
Maggie: Look, if you knew someone is doing something that's putting themselves or someone else in danger, it is your obligation --
Nick: Whoa, aunt Maggie, it's all right. I'm not doing anything that's putting anybody in danger. It's not like my friends are out ghost riding or something, all right? This is something that happened in the past.
Maggie: So this something that happened, did it hurt anybody?
Nick: No, no. In fact, one of the people involved actually gained a lot more confidence from the whole thing.
Maggie: So why is your cousin so furious with you?
Nick: Because she wants me to keep quiet about it, and I can't do that. I want to explain this to her. She needs to understand.
Maggie: Nick, Abby is a smart girl. I think I would think about her advice if I were you.
Billie: Okay, well, just let me know as soon as you're finished. That'd be great. All right, thanks. Hey. That was this whiz kid I hired from Salem U. I got him to put together a powerpoint presentation for me 'cause I figured it would be good to have that when we went into meet with the board of directors.
Billie: Really? Good, 'cause I was just afraid that I might be stepping on your toes.
E.J.: Not at all. Actually, it's refreshing to see somebody as beautiful as you with a bit of initiative.
Billie: Thank you. Actually, I figured it'd be a good idea, seeing as Bo decided to pass.
E.J.: You know, I wouldn't worry about that. You never know, he might even change his mind.
Willow: Hey. Abby.
Willow: Do you have a minute?
Abby: Um, actually, I don't. I have to do something.
Willow: Can you just talk to your aunt Maggie about getting my job back?
Abby: Are you kidding?
Willow: Well, I don't have to waitress this time. I can do something else.
Abby: Yeah, reality check.
Willow: I'll wash dishes. I'll clean the bathroom. I'll do anything.
Abby: Oh, I know you'll do anything, willow. You set my cousin Shawn's apartment on fire, you took a bribe to lie about him in court, and you sold him out to the kiriakises, so forget it.
Willow: I know that I screwed up.
Abby: Screwed up? Shawn and belle had to take their baby and go on the run because of your lies. You hurt my family, and that's something we don't forgive.
Willow: I am your family, Abby. I'm having Shawn's baby.
Lucas: I don't know what to say.
Sami: Can't you just say that you'll accept me? And that my life with you isn't just gonna be one big test?
Lucas: It's not a test, honey. I want to know why you're upset. That's all. I mean, when I left, you were fine with us getting married. Everything was perfect. Then when I come back, you're a total wreck. You want to leave town. You want to pack up everything. You want to take will out of school. You want to leave the town where you grew up. I think I have a right to know why.
Sami: I can't tell you.
Lucas: All right, fine. Then we got a real problem if you can't trust me.
Sami: I do trust you. But I know you, Lucas. As soon as you hear something you don't like, you're gonna walk away.
Lucas: I'm sorry, all right? I won't do that. I won't do it. If you're honest with me, you tell me why you're upset, I promise I won't walk away.
Sami: I can't.
Lucas: Just give me a chance to prove it, all right? Listen. Listen to me. We are in a house of God. I promise if you tell me why you're upset, I'll understand. I won't walk away from you. I promise. Please.
Sami: I'm scared, Lucas. I'm so scared.
Lucas: I know you're scared, but tell me what's going on, and I promise we'll work it out, all right -- together. Together we'll make sure it's okay.
Sami: Okay. Okay. You're right. It was E.J. He was here while you were gone.
Lucas: All right. All right, I knew it. What did he say?
Sami: He said --
Celeste: Well, I hope I'm not interrupting anything.
Abby: You're pregnant?
Willow: Yep, with Shawn's second child. I hope it's a boy. What would that make it? Shawn Brady iii?
Abby: How do you know it's Shawn's baby? It could be anyone's.
Willow: I have scientific proof. I had an amnio done.
Abby: Shawn doesn't know yet, does he?
Willow: Yeah, he does, but he could have cared less.
Abby: Doesn't sound like him.
Willow: Yeah, well, it is. Last time I saw him, he was so preoccupied with belle and Claire, he could have cared less about me.
Abby: It must hurt.
Willow: You think? I loved him. He was the first person that treated me like I was a human, like I had a brain up there.
Abby: If you loved him so much, why would you do such horrible things to him?
Willow: I guess it's the way that I grew up. Somebody hurts you, you hurt them back. The more you love someone, the more they can hurt you, so you hurt back as hard as you can.
Abby: I'm sorry you had a lousy childhood, but guess what. That doesn't give you a pass to wreck people's lives.
Willow: I know, I know. I'm just saying love is confusing for me. I don't always get it right.
Abby: Well, it's not confusing to me. It's real clear that I love Shawn and belle and my little cousin Claire, who I may never get to see again because of you.
Willow: I'm sorry.
Abby: Yeah, me, too. And don't bother my aunt Maggie.
[Cellphone ringing] Hello?
Ms. Ashwell: Willow, this is Ms. Ashwell at the "Y." We need to talk. I think we have a problem.
Nick: I need to tell her the truth about everything now, Abby. No more secrets.
Abby: Everything? Nick, like what?
Nick: Like I slept with her mom.
Abby: You can't do this to them just because you have a stupid crush.
Maggie: Nick, Abby is a smart girl. I think I would think about her advice if I were you.
Chelsea: Just promise me that no matter what...you'll never keep any secrets from me ever again.
Nick: Hey, Chelsea? Yeah, um...there's something I really need to talk to you about. Yeah, I'll be right over.
Willow: I paid my rent on time.
Ms. Ashwell: This isn't about money, willow.
Willow: Okay, well, then, what's the problem?
Ms. Ashwell: I'd rather not do this over the phone. Just stop by my office when you get back.
Willow: Please, please, I can't wait.
Ms. Ashwell: I -- I've just been informed that you're pregnant.
Willow: Informed by who?
Ms. Ashwell: It doesn't matter. Just tell me the truth. Are you pregnant?
Ms. Ashwell: Willow, we're only set up to help single women. We can't accommodate a baby.
Willow: I know, but I don't have a job. I don't have any money.
Ms. Ashwell: I'm so sorry, honey. I wish there was another way.
Abby: I told Nick not to do it, but I've just never seen him so stubborn. And when he left the garage, he said he was gonna tell Chelsea everything.
Billie: Not unless I get to him first. Thanks, Abby.
E.J.: Okay, thanks. Willow, how lovely to see you.
Willow: That was a really cute trick you played calling the "Y."
E.J.: They were gonna find out eventually. I just moved things along.
Willow: Yeah, but I could have hid things for a while. Now I have to find a place to live. I don't have a job. I don't have any money, but you already knew that, didn't you?
E.J.: Yeah. You want a job or not? Yes or no, 'cause I don't particularly want to hear you whine.
Willow: I don't really have a choice, now, do I? I'm not keeping Hope's jewelry. I don't want it.
E.J.: Send it back. Drop it in the river. I really don't care. I'm just trying to impress a point on Bo Brady.
Willow: You're paying me in advance?
E.J.: I'm not stupid. Postdated. So you can deposit it when the job's done.
Willow: How will you know that the job is done?
E.J.: Well, because you're not an idiot. And only an idiot would lie to me. Let me give you a...friendly reminder. If you conversation, then neither you nor your baby will make it through the year. Got me? Good. Now, why don't you do me proud, eh?
Billie: Have you talked to Chelsea yet?
Nick: I'm on my way right now.
Billie: No, I will not let you tell her that we slept together. Yeah, Abby told me. You're not going anywhere near my daughter.
Nick: I'm not trying to hurt you, but Chelsea trusts me. And if she finds out that I lied to her again --
Billie: What? She'll hate you? I can afFord to live with that. She can afFord to lose you. She can't afFord to lose her mother.
Nick: Come on, Billie.
Billie: No, listen to me. My daughter came to me at 16 years old. She was desperate and grieving because she just lost both her parents. I was a stranger to her. And no matter how many times I told her that I thought she died at birth...she didn't trust me. It took me a long time to get her to trust me. It took us a long time to get to the relationship we have now.
Nick: Then why risk all of that?
Billie: Because the truth will destroy her.
Nick: Everybody acts like Chelsea is so fragile, but she's not. She's way more strong than you guys think.
Billie: She is a teenager, Nick, okay? We don't know how she's gonna react to this.
Nick: Yes, we do. She'll be really pissed off, she'll probably be grossed out, and she'll hate both of us for a while, but it will all pass.
Billie: You have no idea what you're talking about. And even if you did, I will not allow you to go against my wishes. She is my daughter, and I will not have you tell her about us.
Nick: If we level with her, Billie --
Billie: No, there is no "we" here, okay? You're just doing this to stay in her good graces. But at what cost, Nick? Guess who's gonna have to pay the piper.
Nick: Both of us have to pay equally.
Billie: No, there is no equal here. Don't you get it? Who knows how long your relationship will last with Chelsea? Mine has to last a lifetime.
Nick: And mine could, too. And maybe I'm blowing all of it by telling her, but I have to be honest with her, Billie. If -- if I don't tell her -- I promised her. I promised her.
Billie: And I promised her that I would be the best mother I could possibly be. And I've been doing a damn good job of it up till now. I screwed up, okay? I screwed up once. I took a drink...and I slept with you. But that was my mistake. And I will not let Chelsea pay for it.
Nick: I'm sorry, Billie. I need to do this.
Billie: Chelsea? Hi, it's your mom. Could you please call me as soon as possible? I need to talk to you. It's very important.
Celeste: I wanted to light a candle for Alexandra and Tek.
Sami: No. No, you're not interrupting us. Was she, Lucas?
Lucas: No. No, we can finish our conversation at home. Come on, Sami, let's go.
Sami: Actually, Lucas, I think I want to stay and light a candle, too.
Lucas: All right, I guess I'll wait for you.
Sami: I kind of want to be alone.
Lucas: Listen to me -- you were just gonna tell me why E.J. got you so upset. I don't want to drop it, okay?
Sami: He, um...he was here and, you know, just being E.J., and...he wanted me to invite him to the wedding.
Lucas: That's why you were scared? That's why you were shaking like you were? That's why you're willing to leave town?
Sami: Just...you know, you were asking Kate to come and then with E.J. being at the wedding, too, it just got to be too much and I -- and I guess I just felt like something bad was really gonna happen.
Lucas: I mean, I can understand why you don't want him there, but scared enough to leave town, to leave Salem, your home?
Sami: Yeah, well, you know, I can't help how I feel lately. I'm pregnant.
Lucas: I know. Believe me, I know.
Sami: Yeah. Well, you can't imagine what it feels like. It sort of takes over your whole world, and sometimes reason just flies out the window.
Lucas: Attack of the hormones.
Sami: It's not funny.
Lucas: You know, I got a prescription for those hormones right here. Oh, here it is. Yeah, a chick flick and a pound of chocolate works every time.
Sami: Women don't have any secrets with you, do they?
Lucas: No, they don't. Go ahead, light your candle, and I'll see you at home.
Sami: I love you.
Lucas: I love you, too.
Sami: I'm sorry. I need your help.
Celeste: I know. That's why I'm here.
E.J.: But I would be careful because accidents, Kayla, can happen to people with the best of intentions.
Dr. Kraft: I'll let you out of the straight jacket on one condition -- you have to be medicated.
Steve: No freakin' way.
Nick: I couldn't have said it any better.
Billie: Nick, you didn't.
Celeste: Your only solution is to get rid of him once and for all.
Sami: And how am I supposed to do that?
Celeste: You kill him.
