Max: Roman. Hey.
Roman: Hey! Baby brother, Mimi. What's up?
Max: Sorry to bother you. I know you're busier than usual now that you took over Abe's position, but...
Roman: Well, you don't know the half of it. Besides the mess with Shawn and Belle, we had to release E.J. Wells today.
Max: What? You just let him walk?
Roman: Yeah, I know. I know. I don't like it either, but without Lexie or Tek as a witness, we had to let him go. At any rate, what can I do for you two?
Mimi: We won't keep you long. We just thought you should know about this.
Max: The skeleton from the church basement.
Roman: Did you find it?
Mimi: I did.
Roman: Where, Mimi? Where did you find it?
Kayla: Oh! Finally!
Steve: Hey, baby.
Kayla: I was so worried.
Steve: Okay. Yeah. I missed you so much, sweetness.
Kayla: Are you all right?
Steve: Yeah, I'm just a little sore from all those hours behind the wheel of that truck, you know? Hmm?
Kayla: What's that?
Kayla: What is that -- the big bruise right there and another bruise d--
Steve: Okay, okay.
Kayla: What happened?
Steve: [Sighs] All right. Here's what happened -- we almost had Shawn and Belle and the baby at the border, and a State Trooper started tailing us.
Steve: So I had to take some evasive action to get rid of the dude. But the good news is it worked and they made it safe into Canada.
Kayla: What's the bad news?
Steve: There isn't any. Everything's good. It's all done.
Steve: Yeah. What? No "thank you"? No "way to go, Patch man. You saved the day"? [Chuckles] No dragging your hero into the bedroom?
Kayla: You know, don't kid around. I'm worried.
Steve: Well, don't worry, baby. Like I told you, the trip was a success and everything's cool.
Kayla: And you didn't have one of those episodes?
Steve: Episodes are for TV. [Knock on door] That must be Bo. I told him to meet me here. Hey, man.
Bo: Hey, good to see you. Glad you made it back safe. Kay.
Shawn D.: Come on. Somebody pick up.
Shawn D.: Who's this?
Chelsea: Who's this?
Shawn d.: This is the owners' grandson. Are they there?
Chelsea: Oh, my God. Shawn. Shawn, it's me. It's Chelsea.
Nick: What is it?
Shawn D.: Chelsea, would you do me a favor and just keep it down? Some people are looking for me.
Chelsea: Right. Okay. I know. Listen, you can count on me. You can depend on me. Where are you? Are you guys okay?
Shawn D.: Yeah, we're fine. We're safe for now.
Chelsea: Okay, does dad know?
Shawn D.: No, that's why I'm calling. I need to get in touch with dad, but I can't call him at home because I think that the phone's probably tapped.
Chelsea: Right, but, Shawn, he's not here.
Shawn D.: Are my grandparents ther-- our grandparents -- are they there?
Chelsea: No, they're not here either. But maybe I could help you.
Shawn D.: Chelsea, look, I'll just call back later, okay?
Chelsea: No, no, no, no. Shawn, don't hang up. Look, I'll find dad for you. Just tell me where he can reach you.
Shawn D.: He can't. All right? Just have him back there in the next hour and a half, and I'll call him back on this pay phone, okay?
Chelsea: Yeah, absolutely.
Shawn D.: Thanks, Chelsea.
Chelsea: No problem. Oh, my God. That was Shawn.
Nick: What did he say?
Chelsea: I'll tell you on the way. We got to go find my dad.
Nick: All right.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.
Roman: All right, listen to me. This is very important, so tell me everything you know. Exactly where did you find these bones?
Mimi: In my backyard.
Roman: How in the hell did they get in your backyard?
Mimi: I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing my mom and my brother Conner had something to do with it.
Roman: Why would Bonnie and Conner steal a skeleton from the morgue and bury it in their backyard?
Mimi: Well, you know my mom. She does crazy stuff like that. And my brother --
Roman: Mimi, I'm well aware of your family, but a skeleton? Come on. What the hell is this really all about?
Mimi: I don't know.
Roman: Did you happen to ask?
Mimi: Of course I did, but all I got were lame answers -- nothing that made any sense.
Roman: All right, you know what? I think I need to talk to them.
Mimi: No, wait, wait, wait. Roman, you'll just be wasting your time. You won't get any further with them than I did.
Roman: Well, if I drag them down here, I think I will.
Mimi: No, please, I'm asking you not to do that. I've come down here, and I've told you the truth -- everything I know. And I'm hoping that you'll allow me to do something first before you start interrogating my mom and brother.
Roman: Okay. What is that?
Mimi: Get a DNA test on the bones.
Max: We know the crime lab's totally backlogged, so we thought we'd ask Nick Fallon to do it.
Mimi: And then we'll know exactly who this person is.
Roman: Can't do that -- let you guys go off and play detective.
Max: What could it hurt, Roman? It's not like this guy's a hot case, right? Whoever he is, he died a long time ago.
Mimi: And we won't tell anyone about it -- I mean, except for Nick, of course.
Roman: You do know that even if Nick gets this DNA, we need a match for a positive I.D. Look, I just think that we would get better results if I rattled Bonnie's cage a little bit.
Mimi: And she'd probably deserve it. But my little brother, he's just a kid, and whatever she's got him mixed up in, I'm sure it's not his fault.
Roman: Mimi, I do appreciate your concern.
Mimi: I just don't want to see him hurt. Conner is a good kid. He's gotten into some scrapes, but he's a good kid, Roman. If you could only do me this one favor, please.
Max: Come on, bro. We've been waiting a long time to find out.
Roman: [Exhales sharply] Okay. All right. I'll tell you what -- I'll take those bones into the hospital, but I will give it one week. If we don't have an I.D. by then, then I'm gonna need answers from bonnie.
Mimi: Understood. Thank you so much.
[Knock on door]
Roman: One minute, okay? Excuse me. What do you got?
Officer: A fax from the Michigan State Police. They managed to trace the delivery truck that carried your nephew and his girlfriend and kid across the Canadian Border. It was stolen here in Salem. And wait till you see who else was along for the ride.
Steve: Yeah, so, we had a few close calls, but nothing I couldn't handle.
Bo: So, you got them there with no major problems?
Steve: Yeah. They got across the border safe and sound.
Bo: Thanks, man. I owe you.
Steve: You don't owe me. We're family, dude.
Bo: Yeah. I wonder how they're doing.
Steve: Well, you might be wondering for a while because I had to set down some ground rules for the kids to keep them safe.
Bo: What are they?
Steve: I told Shawn and Belle that they can't call us. They can't call our home phones or our cellphones in case the cops have tracers on them.
Bo: Yeah, yeah, that's good.
Steve: As for us, we have to keep playing dumb. We haven't heard from them, haven't seen them, don't know where they are.
Bo: Yeah. Right.
Steve: We can't look for them either. You know, if we hire PD’s or call in favors from law enforcement, Abe and Roman are bound to find out about it.
Bo: Yeah, Hope and I talked to Marlena about that. We agreed that's the way it should be.
Steve: I know this is gonna be tough for you, Bo, acting like those kids are gone and never coming back.
Bo: Acting like they're go-- we may never see them again.
Steve: No, come on.
Kayla: Bo, come on. Let's just focus on one day at a time. And we'll just concentrate on not letting the police onto anything.
Bo: Right. [Banging on door] Are you expecting someone?
Steve: Who's there?
Chelsea: It's me -- Chelsea. Hurry up and let me in. I need to talk to my dad. It's really important. Thanks. Hey, Hope just told me where you were, and I came as soon as I could. I didn't even have time to drop Nick off, but I figured it's okay because he's related to Hope.
Bo: Slow down. Slow down. Just tell me why you're here.
Chelsea: Okay, Shawn just called.
Bo: Is he okay?
Kayla: Are they okay? Are they in any trouble?
Chelsea: Everybody's fine, he said, but he wants to talk to you, Dad.
Nick: He called from a safe phone in Toronto and said that he was gonna call back at the pay phone in the pub in about an hour or so.
Bo: All right, I'm on my way.
Kayla: Yeah, us, too.
Steve: I'm coming, too.
Bo: Hey, kid. You done good. Thanks.
Belle: So, did you get ahold of anyone back home?
Shawn D.: Yeah. Chelsea.
Shawn D.: I know. I know. She's gonna go find my dad, and I'm just gonna call back in a little while.
Belle: Do you think that we can trust her?
Shawn D.: We really don't have a choice. So, is Claire -- is she still out?
Belle: Yeah, she's as tired as we are, I'm sure.
Shawn D.: Speaking of which, I think that we should probably take a nap, all right? I'm gonna set my watch to make sure that I don't miss this phone call.
Belle: Okay. I kind of don't want to get in the cot with her, though. It might wake her up.
Shawn D.: We only have two cots.
Belle: I think we should just share one, then.
Shawn D.: You know, I could just sleep on the floor.
Belle: The floor? Why?
Shawn D.: You know, it's better for my back to sleep on a hard surface.
Belle: Hmm. Since when did you start having trouble with your back?
Shawn D.: Just recently, like...yeah.
Belle: You're very sweet.
Shawn D.: I should probably get some, uh...
Belle: Get some rest. Yeah.
Shawn D.: Yeah.
Belle: [Clears throat] I'm sorry.
Shawn D.: For what?
Belle: That it had to be like this.
Shawn D.: This is by no means your fault.
Belle: Yeah, but you've been -- you've been really great, even with Philip, you know? When he found out that Claire wasn't his, you were still willing to let him be a part of her life.
Shawn D.: I made some stupid mistakes. This whole E.J. thing and then Willow --
Belle: Hey, hey, you know what? That's all in the past. But right now...
Shawn D.: I want to take care of Claire...and you. I better get some rest while I still can.
Belle: Hey, Shawn?
Shawn D.: Yeah?
Belle: What happens if we don't make it? If the police find us, what do we do?
Shawn D.: We're not gonna get caught. My dad, he's a cop. I know how they think. I'm always gonna stay one step ahead of them.
Belle: What about Victor and Philip? How are you gonna stay one step ahead of them?
Shawn D.: You know, I've got Kiriakis blood, too, so I think I got all of our bases covered. Besides, my dad, he taught me that the most important thing is to take care of the people that you -- to take care of your family. That's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna make sure that all three of us are safe and all of us are together. I've kept all my promises so far, haven't I? I said that I wouldn't let anybody take Claire, that I'd get us out of town, and now I'm saying that I'm gonna find a place where all of us can stay and we can raise our daughter. And you can count on that.
Shawn D.: Yeah?
Belle: I'm okay.
Shawn D.: Good night.
Bo: How much longer till he calls?
Nick: Probably about five minutes less than the last time you asked.
Bo: Sorry. Bit anxious.
Chelsea: Dad, I don't blame you. But don't worry. It won't be much longer.
Chelsea: You know, I never thought I'd be saying this, but I kind of admire Shawn. He's going through all of this trouble for his little girl just so he can keep her. Claire's the luckiest little girl in the world.
Bo: Yeah, she is.
Steve: Hey, man. Don't you think we better lock the door? We don't want the wrong people showing up when Shawn's on the phone.
Bo: Yeah, all right.
Roman: Well, well. Look who's all here.
Merle: Hey, dude. Wake up. Dude, wake up. Easy, easy. Chill. It's me.
Shawn D.: Sorry, man. I thought you were a cop.
Merle: Yeah, I get a lot of that.
Shawn D.: Damn it. The phone call. Oh, God, I thought I overslept.
Merle: Man, you were zonked. Trying to wake you up without waking up your family.
Shawn D.: Yeah, man, I'm beat. We all are. What's going on?
Belle: Yeah, hey, what's going on?
Merle: Come over here, mommy. I got some good news for you guys.
Belle: We could definitely use that. What is it?
Merle: Tomorrow night, there's a Turkish freighter leaving for the East Coast of Africa.
Merle: If you two want to get away far and fast, this is your chance.
Shawn D.: Yeah, there's a lot of islands off the coast of Africa. We could just disappear on one of them.
Merle: And you wouldn't need a passport either 'cause I got a friend who's got a friend who knows a guy who will get you on as stowaways.
Shawn D.: That's great, man. That's perfect.
Belle: Is it? Shawn, we're talking about Africa. Claire doesn't even have her shots yet.
Shawn D.: We'll take care of Claire. We've got to do this. The way the airport security's working right now, we're gonna get nabbed in a second for walking around with forged passports.
Merle: You got that right, dude. And there's no worries. You three will be in good hands. You'll be guarded like precious cargo the whole way. It's a no-brainer.
Belle: Okay, let's do it.
Shawn D.: Okay, it's settled. Thank you, Merle. Go ahead and make the arrangements. Let's do it.
Merle: Well, it's not that easy 'cause this all comes at a price.
Max: You're not really eating.
Mimi: I don't really have an appetite.
Max: You're probably right. Let's do this another night or something. Come on.
Mimi: No, Max. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It was really nice of you to treat me, and here I am wasting a perfectly wonderful meal.
Max: It's okay, really. I kind of thought you needed a little break, you know, after what happened at the police station, you coming clean like that. That couldn't have been easy.
Mimi: You have no idea.
Max: But you did the right thing, Mimi. I'm telling you, telling the truth about the bones and how your mom and Conner are involved -- you still protected them.
Mimi: For now.
Max: Mimi, you did everything you could.
Mimi: I know. I'm just worried about Conner. He doesn't deserve to end up in jail because of my mom. And honestly, I'm getting this really sick feeling that before too long, I'm gonna be the only one in my family who isn't locked up.
Max: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I wasn't there last night. I know how totally freaked out you where when you probably saw that skeleton again.
Mimi: That's not the worst of it.
Mimi: There's something that I didn't tell Roman today -- something that my brother told me last night that is so unbelievable and completely horrifying that I didn't even have the guts to tell you.
Max: Mimi, what is it?
Mimi: Conner said that those bones...they're my father's.
Roman: Isn't anybody gonna say anything?
Steve: How's it going, Ro-man?
Roman: Steve, you really don't want to know. Am I interrupting something here?
Bo: No. No. We're just hanging out, talking about what's going on with Shawn and Belle and Claire, wondering if they're okay.
Roman: Well, I got good news, then. They were spotted in Toronto, and the Canadian authorities are scouring the city as we speak.
Chelsea: Why can't you just leave them alone? They're just trying to protect their kid.
Roman: Bo, you're a cop. You know damn well I got to pursue this. I can't just pretend the law hasn't been broken.
Kayla: Roman, can't you just look the other way this time? Come on. It's your nephew, family.
Bo: Hey, it's okay. He's got to do his job.
Steve: Yeah, that's what everybody's doing -- just doing what they have to do.
Roman: Well, I hope that includes doing the right thing, Steve, like letting me know if the kids call, they show up on your doorstep in the middle of the night, or if they're spotted doing whatever, wherever. Whatever it is, keep in touch, okay?
Bo: Yeah, you got it. I mean, if we hear anything or hear from them, you'll be our first call, all right?
Roman: I would appreciate that, Bo.
Bo: If you're here for something to eat, the kitchen's closed. I'll tell ma you stopped by.
Roman: You know what? I think I can tell her myself 'cause I'm not leaving yet. You see, I just had another very interesting case drop into my lap, and I was just hoping you all would help me with it.
Bo: Could we talk about this later? This whole thing with Shawn --
Roman: It involves a stolen delivery truck, so no. We need to talk about it right now.
Belle: It comes with a price. What kind of price?
Shawn D.: I'm sure that the guy who'd smuggle us into Africa, he wants some money.
Merle: Bingo, as in 5 g's.
Shawn D.: $5,000? It might as well be $5 million. We don't have that kind of money.
Belle: Wait, wait, wait. No, we can get it.
Shawn D.: How?
Belle: The ring, remember? This thing has got to be worth at least 5 grand, maybe more.
Shawn D.: Merle, you know any jewelry stores or pawnshops around here?
Merle: Yeah, there's a pawnshop just three blocks from here. I can take you.
Belle: That's great. Yes.
Merle: The thing is, Shawn, the ship leaves in 24 hours, you know? If you don't have the cash, forget about it.
Belle: We're gonna get it.
Shawn D.: Belle, you just wait until I talk to my dad, and we're gonna all go together.
Belle: He already said we don't have that much time. I'll be fine.
Shawn D.: I don't want you wandering around out there --
Belle: Remember this trust thing you and I were just talking about? It goes both ways, okay? I trust you. Now you need to trust me. I can do this. And I've got merle with me. What could go wrong?
Shawn D.: Okay. Be careful, okay?
Belle: I will. I'll be fine. You watch Claire.
Shawn D.: I will.
Merle: You might want to put on some sunglasses and a hat or something, just in case.
Belle: Good idea.
Merle: You seem like nice kids, okay, and this guy that's chasing you, he's like this narc that busted me for having three lousy little blunts in my kit bag.
Shawn D.: Oh, trust me, Merle, this guy's a lot worse than that. Do me a favor and take care of her.
Merle: Like my own daughter.
Belle: Okay, we're almost home free.
Nick: What's wrong, Chelsea?
Chelsea: Nothing. It's just every time I think I've made some sort of connection to my dad and he's starting to see me as somebody that he can trust and count on, I blow it.
Nick: You didn't blow it.
Chelsea: Nick, you saw the way he just looked at me.
Nick: He was keeping you quiet so that you wouldn't blow it.
Chelsea: He just wants me to fall off the face of the earth.
Nick: Chelsea, come on.
Chelsea: You know, I should just put some tape over my mouth and never talk again.
Nick: If you think that you're gonna have a perfect relationship with your dad or either of your parents, I can tell you right now it's not gonna happen.
Nick: Because it's not possible in any family.
Chelsea: You have one with yours, don't you?
Nick: No. I don't. Families argue. They hurt each other. They have disagreements. That's part of being a family. It doesn't mean that they love you any less.
Chelsea: Well, yeah, I mean, that's true if you've been there since the beginning with each other. But, Nick, that's never how it's been with me and him. I mean, since the day he found out I was his daughter, all I've done is just screwed up royally.
Nick: Okay, but think about how far you and your dad have come. Your relationship now is better than it ever has been. Hang in there.
Chelsea: You're right. Our relationship has gotten better. I guess I'm just waiting for that one thing to really make me shine in his eyes.
Roman: So, as it turns out, this stolen delivery truck was found in the woods across the border. And that's not all that was found. There was a baby pacifier under the seat.
Bo: So, you think the kids were in this truck?
Roman: Well, you haven't heard the whole story yet. It gets real good.
Kayla: We're listening.
Roman: It seems as if this same truck wound up in a high-speed chase with a Michigan State Trooper and this drugged-out wild man. That's the state trooper's description, not mine. So, apparently, this drugged-out wild man emptied the contents of the truck all over the hood of the trailing police car. Then he jumped off the back of the truck at about 80 miles an hour and vanished into the woods. Bottom line is this drugged-out wild man is wanted by the Michigan Police now for, oh, among 26 charges -- resisting arrest, assault on a police vehicle, assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, grand theft auto, and conspiracy -- now, the latter, due to the fact that he helped his accomplices escape into Canada. So, Steve...
Roman: You wouldn't happen to be the guy they're looking for, would you?
Steve: I was home all night last night.
Roman: Yeah? Were you home alone?
Steve: Yeah. Kayla was over at Marlena's.
Roman: Kayla, is that right?
Kayla: Yeah, I thought Marlena could use some company.
Roman: Well, Steve, do you mind if I ask where you got those bruises?
Steve: Reaching for seconds.
Roman: [Chuckles] All right, folks. Let's stop playing games here because, you see, I checked Kayla's cellphone records, and somebody called her around 11:30 last night from a pay phone in Northern Michigan, about 25 miles from the Canadian Border. So, Kayla, Steve, what do you two have to say about that?
Max: Your dad's? The bones are your dad's? I thought he was still alive.
Mimi: So did I. He took off five or six years ago and headed out west to look for work -- at least that's what my mom told me he was doing.
Max: But he didn't say anything to you, like no goodbye?
Mimi: Nothing. I just woke up one morning and he was gone. And all these years, I've hated him for walking out of my life. I thought terrible things about him.
Max: And the whole time, he was dead.
Mimi: It looks that way. And it's pretty obvious that either my mom or my two brothers had a part in killing him.
Belle: Couldn't do it.
Shawn D.: What happened?
Belle: I don't know. I went to three different pawnshops, and nobody would buy it. I even offered to take 1/3 off the price.
Shawn D.: And still no takers?
Belle: No. At first I thought that they thought maybe I had stolen it or something. And then of course it dawned on me.
Shawn D.: Philip.
Belle: Yeah, Philip reported it stolen.
Shawn D.: That son of a bitch.
Belle: I'm so sorry. What are we gonna do?
Shawn D.: There's still a way that we can get the money.
Shawn D.: It's time for me to call my dad. Between the two of us, we're gonna figure out a way to do this.
Roman: I had a feeling you two couldn't explain that phone call.
Kayla: It was a wrong number, Roman.
Roman: Really? Okay, Kayla, let me see if I get this straight. Okay, a stranger steals a delivery truck. He drives it into Northern Michigan with his accomplices. He gets out. He finds a pay phone. He makes a phone call, and he accidentally calls your cell. Is that what you're saying?
Bo: That's what she's saying, Roman. Are you calling her a liar?
Roman: Bo, come on. You know that story is dead on arrival.
Steve: Okay, Roman, come on. Take me in. That's what you want to do. You got your mind made up.
Roman: Steve, you know what? All I want here is the truth.
Steve: Okay. I helped Shawn and Belle and Claire cross the Border into Canada. I stole that delivery truck. I tossed its cargo at that cop. I jumped out the back at 80 miles an hour and led that dude in a footrace through the woods so the kids could get away.
Roman: You know what, Steve? You are a very good friend of mine. I'm gonna ask you one more time. Is that the truth, or is it not the truth?
Steve: Roman, I was home alone all night last night. I don't know who made that phone call. I don't know about a stolen delivery truck or anything else. That's my story. [Telephone ringing]
Max: You really think your mom or your brothers killed your dad?
Mimi: What else can I think? They obviously knew the bones in the church basement were his or they wouldn't have stolen them from the morgue.
Max: Yeah, but still --
Mimi: Plus, I remember how weird my mom was when I first told her about us finding the skeleton. She immediately called Patrick in jail to tell him.
Max: Why don't you call Patrick, find out what he knows?
Mimi: It won't do any good. She's got him under her thumb, too.
Max: That's why you want this DNA report from Nick-- so you can find out if this is your dad or not?
Mimi: I need to be 100% positive before this goes any further.
Max: And if it is him, then what?
Mimi: Then I'm gonna make sure my mom pays for killing him and sealing up his body in that creepy old church cellar. God. What was she thinking? No one deserves to end up like that, and he was my dad.
Max: It's okay. It's okay.
Roman: Well, I wonder who's calling on that pay phone.
Nick: You know, it's probably my boss, Dr. Robert. I lost my cellphone, and I told him to call me here. Is that okay?
Bo: Yeah, that's fine. Yeah.
Nick: Sorry about that. Hello? Dr. Robert. Hey, it's Nick.
Shawn D.: Dr. Robert?
Nick: We have company.
Shawn D.: The cops?
Nick: Yes, that's correct, Dr. Robert.
Shawn D.: Thanks for looking out, man.
Nick: No worries. Glad to do it. Uh-huh.
Bo: Sorry, man. It doesn't look like anyone here can help you with that stolen-truck thing. Good luck with that.
Roman: Well, we were talking about truth. Here's my truth -- unofficially, off the record, I'm pulling for Shawn and Belle, too. I think Victor and his son need to be taken down a peg or two, but I've got a job to do. And, Bo, you got a job to protect. So, folks, here's what I'm gonna do -- I'm gonna file that report, and I'm gonna tell the Michigan State Police that I investigated and I found nothing for now. But if I get a hint, even a hint of another incident involving any one of you, then I got no choice. I got to go back in. I got to open it up, and I got to do it by the book, so don't put me in that position, please. Don't do that, okay?
Bo: Yeah. Fair enough.
Roman: All right. You all take care. See you later.
Bo: You, too.
Nick: Okay. Yeah. [Chuckles]
Bo: Make sure he's gone, would you?
Bo: Thanks, man. Appreciate it. Shawn, are you still there?
Shawn D.: Oh, my God. Dad, it's so good to hear your voice.
Bo: Good to hear your voice, too.
Max: Look, it's gonna be okay, all right? We're gonna get the test back, and whatever it shows, we'll deal with it, all right? I'm gonna be with you every step of the way, okay?
Mimi: I always knew my family was crazy, but this? Patrick's in jail for God knows how long, and Conner's right behind him. And now it looks like my mom may have murdered my dad. How screwed up is that?
Max: Yeah, well, they have one thing going for them, at least.
Max: You. They're lucky to have you, Mimi, and so am I.
Mimi: You deserve better than me.
Max: Mimi, what are you talking about?
Mimi: Here I've been making all this noise about being a better person, but underneath, I'm just like them. I'm just like my mom and my brothers.
Max: No, you're not.
Mimi: Yes, I am, Max. I could have been totally honest with Roman today, but I wasn't. I covered for my family, just like I've always done. And you know, last night, when I couldn't sleep, I actually thought about reburying the bones in my yard and never saying a word about it to anyone ever again. How sick is that? My own father.
Max: Maybe not. We don't know -- not till the tests come back.
Mimi: I'm sorry.
Mimi: I feel like all I ever do is dump stuff on you.
Max: Hey, I'm not going anywhere, okay? I'm gonna be here with you, whatever you need.
Mimi: That's new for me, you know, having somebody hang in there like that.
Max: Well, get used to it.
Shawn D.: Hey, how are mom and the baby?
Bo: Hey, hey, they're fine.
Shawn D.: And Steve -- did he make it back okay?
Bo: Son, everybody's fine. We're very worried about you.
Shawn D.: We're fine. Belle and Claire and I, we're at a safe house in Toronto, and we're just about to catch a boat out of here.
Bo: Which boat?
Shawn D.: I better not get into details.
Bo: Yeah, right. At least you found a way out of there. That's good.
Shawn D.: Yeah, but we've got one problem. We need $5,000 to get the help we need. Belle, she tried to pawn her wedding ring, but Philip, he reported it stolen, so --
Bo: So you're stuck.
Shawn D.: Yeah, we've got 24 hours to come up with the cash. After that, we lose what could be our only chance to get out of here.
Bo: Hey, hey, don't worry about that. I'll get the cash for you. Just give me some time and then call back here. We'll figure out how to get it to you.
Shawn D.: Okay, Dad. Thank you. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this.
Bo: I love you, son.
Shawn D.: I love you, too, Dad.
Steve: They need money? I told them.
Bo: 5,000 bucks.
Kayla: I'll just get it from the bank across the street.
Bo: Thanks, sis. I appreciate that. Then we'll just wire them the money.
Nick: You know, I'm really sorry to butt in, but it's probably not a very good idea to do a bank transfer because they're really easy to trace.
Bo: Right, right, I'm not thinking straight. We got a problem.
Steve: It's no problem, man. I'll take them the money.
Bo: Don't think that's a good idea considering your reputation North of here.
Kayla: Yeah, the police are watching all of us.
Chelsea: Not me. I'll do it. I'll deliver the money.
Shawn D.: It's all taken care of. My dad is gonna get us the money.
Shawn D.: Yeah, I'm gonna call him back in a little while, and we're gonna work out the details.
Belle: You know, I'm almost afraid to say it.
Shawn D.: What?
Belle: Looks like things are starting to go our way.
Shawn D.: Yeah.
Kayla: We need help. We can't do this alone.
Hope: Shawn and Belle's future rests in Chelsea's hands. God help us.
Philip: I will find Shawn and Belle, and when I do, it won't be pretty.
Chelsea: What are we gonna do if Philip knows about us?
Nick: The only thing we can do -- outsmart him.
