Lucas: Ooh, look at her. Look at her. She's looking good. Ow, Mama! I like.
Sami: Well, I like the way you look, too.
Lucas: Well, thank you.
Sami: In fact, I love it.
Lucas: Yeah? Honey.
Sami: You know what, Lucas? I think I love the guy in it even more. And I think I love the guy in it more so much that how about we just blow off the whole "receiving an award" thing at the Brady Pub and maybe we could just stay home?
Lucas: Well, I'd like to -- I'd like to have another episode, too, honey. That's great, but come on, now. Your dad worked hard on this. He worked hard on this for his little girl. Plus, he's got a big old gun, and he ain't afraid to use it.
Sami: [Laughs] All right, well, there is that. All right, all right.
Lucas: You ready to go? Is will ready?
Sami: I don't know. Yeah, I think so. Look, I also wanted to apologize again about last night and how I freaked out about the phone call from E.J.
Lucas: Well, it's understandable and forgivable, all right? So let's just forget about that guy. Act like it never happened.
Sami: I could do that. Maybe just focus all my attention on you.
Will: What's up, guys?
Lucas: Yo! Did you get a picture of that?
Lucas: I want a copy of that.
Sami: I'll take that phone away from you. Wait a second. What are you wearing?
Will: Oh, wait a second. Check this out.
Lucas: "Sami Brady and yours isn't." Nice! That's awesome! I got to get a picture of this. Get over there.
Sami: What does that even mean? I don't understand it.
Lucas: Okay, now just get close and smile.
Sami: Will, where did you come up with that?
Lucas: All right, act beautiful. There we go. Perfect. I love it.
Lucas: Love that shirt.
Will: You know, Mom, I am riding your rep up to the line of almost cool. But, seriously, I mean, even if nobody knew what you did, saving dad's life and everything, I'd still be proud of you -- really proud.
Chelsea: You know, I just don't get it. Sami makes all these mistakes, ruins all these people's lives, yet the whole town comes out to give her some kind of award?
Kate: It was all her father's idea.
Chelsea: Lucky girl.
Kate: I wouldn't be so impressed with Sami. She's not close to what she seems.
Chelsea: That's not the point. The point is she went from zero to hero at warp speed. And I want to know how she did it.
Bo: Shawn, it's me. Call me as soon as you get this. We need to talk.
Hope: Belle, hey, it's Hope, honey. How are you, sweetie? Just calling to see how you're doing. Could you give me a call when you get this? Thanks, bye.
Hope: Voice mail. They're in trouble. I can feel it.
Bo: They're not gonna do anything stupid.
Hope: I wish I could be sure. Shawn was so upset when Philip took Claire away.
Bo: They know what's at stake. They're not gonna make things worse...I hope.
Bo: Hey, Kay. What are you doing here?
Kayla: Same thing you're doing here. I'm here for Sami's award.
Bo: Okay, I thought you and Steve would be on your way to Mexico right about now.
Kayla: Well, he left this morning for an assignment for you and Roman, but why would you think that I would be going? Bo, what is it?
Steve: Can I buy you a drink? Oh, you know me. It's nice to be recognized. Tequila, por favor. No, it's cool. I'm flying solo.
Bartender: Muchas gracias.
E.J.: I take it you didn't come down here for the waters.
Steve: No. I came down here to bring you a little something from your friends at home. It's a warrant for your arrest. Here's wishing you a happy, warm new year from the Salem P.D.
Max: Okay, final run-through. I am the getaway man, so I will stay put in the car, ready to burn rubber. Mimi, you will be stationed outside the hospital out of sight, waiting for Philip and Claire.
Mimi: When I see them going in, I'll call Shawn on his cell.
Max: Right. Belle, you will be waiting outside the office where Philip is taking Claire to be immunized. And then, Shawn, you know what to do from there, right?
Shawn D.: Yeah, got it.
Max: Okay, everyone clear? Belle?
Belle: I need to say goodbye to my father first.
Shawn D.: Look, I'm gonna wait for Belle in John's room. I'm gonna make sure we stay on schedule. Don't worry. Look, I know, I know, but if John dies while we're on the run, she's never gonna forgive herself for not saying goodbye.
Mimi: We have enough time.
Max: Are you scared?
Mimi: A little. I've never taken part in a kidnaping before.
Shawn D.: This isn't a kidnaping. Claire belongs with Belle and me. We're just taking back what is rightfully ours.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.
Belle: Mmm, your hands are warm. Well, mine are always cold. [Chuckles] Remember when I was little and we used to go on walks and you would let me put my hands in your big coat Pocket? I'll never forget that. So many things just -- it's just like my whole childhood is just wrapped up in the warmth of your Pocket. And now you have your own battle to fight.
[Clears throat] If I could put your hands in my Pocket and make everything better... but I can't. Dad, if we don't leave with Claire, we're never gonna see her again. And we just can't let that happen. And I know that there have been times that you've been really angry with Shawn. Believe me, so have I. But he really loves our daughter just as much as I do. And that's why we can't let anyone take her. So that's why we have to leave Salem. So you need to wake up and tell mom that I love her and that I'll miss her, okay? Just like I'm gonna love and I'm gonna miss you.
[Sniffles] [Sobbing] Goodbye, daddy. I love you. Mom.
Marlena: What's going on? Why are you saying goodbye to your father?
Kayla: You sent Steve to confront E.J.? The guy who tried to kill both of us? Have you completely lost your mind?
Bo: Kay, I didn't send him. He volunteered.
Kayla: Volunteered? I don't understand why.
Bo: He's going crazy sitting around here doing nothing.
Kayla: I know that.
Bo: He went down there to talk to Wells, make our presence known, let him know he can't get away from us. That's all.
Hope: Aren't you forgetting something, Brady?
Hope: The reason your brother was so surprised to see you just now is because he thought you would be traveling with Steve... to keep him out of trouble.
Kayla: Is that true?
Kayla: I thought you said there wasn't gonna be any trouble.
Bo: There won't be.
Kayla: And why do you say that? Because Steve told you that? Do you have any idea what you've done here? You have sent my husband to meet a killer...all by himself.
E.J.: So, where's the rest of your posse, eh?
Steve: Sorry, amigo. Just me, all by my lonesome.
E.J.: That's a pity. Why don't you take this back to Abe and Roman? They should know where to file it.
Steve: Why don't you tell them yourself? Give it that personal touch.
E.J.: Now, first of all, you're not a particularly intimidating character. And secondly, the Salem P.D. have no jurisdiction down here in Mexico.
Steve: Well, that's funny, because that's what the last guy they extradited from Mexico thought.
E.J.: Sure. You could extradite me. How long do you think that would take? Five years? Maybe more? As you Americans like to say... hasta la vista...baby.
Bo: He begged me, Kay. I mean, I've known the man a lot of years. I've never seem him like this, so I just thought --
Kayla: Look, I know that you think that you were doing the right thing --
Bo: Having you there with him --
Kayla: But I'm not with him. He lied to both of us.
Hope: You know what? I think it is time for you and Steve to be completely honest with each other.
Kayla: Well, he keeps telling me that he's fine, but I know that's not true.
Bo: Well, you're right about that. When he and I went to child services to try to get Claire back, he freaked out. I mean, he was completely out of control.
Kayla: And you didn't tell me about that?
Bo: Well, I told him I wouldn't if he promised to see a shrink about it.
Hope: What did he say?
Bo: You know him. He fumed and snorted, tried to talk his way out of it, but I told him that was the only way I wouldn't say anything to anyone. I think he's scared of what he might find out.
Kayla: Yeah, I've had that feeling, too.
Bo: Excuse me.
Hope: Where are you going?
Bo: I'm gonna see if I can reach him, okay?
Hope: Sweetie, don't worry. It's gonna be all right. Bo will get Steve to come home.
Chelsea: How could you do that?
Chelsea: Make me feel bad for wanting to have a loving family. Like, what, like it's something I've outgrown like jumping rope or playing with dolls?
Kate: [Sighs] Chelsea, you've had two loving families. First the Bensons, your adoptive family, and then me and Billie.
Chelsea: Excuse me, but I'm not really feeling the love right now.
Kate: Well, excuse me, but I think you're feeling ungrateful.
Chelsea: Ungrateful. Do you think it was easy for me to watch the two parents that raised me die? Or get used to two new ones complete with their own set of problems and issues?
Kate: No, but that's not what I'm saying. You're not a little girl anymore. You need to move on. You're an adult, Chelsea.
Chelsea: So, what, just because I'm grown-up means I shouldn't want a father that cares about me, right?
Kate: What you need to accept is the fact that Bo has a wife and a child and a family that you're just not part of.
Chelsea: That is the meanest thing you've ever said to me. I want you to apologize to me right now.
Roman: Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please? I want you to welcome the woman of the year, Salem's own heroine -- and, I am very proud to say, my daughter -- Samantha Brady. [Applause]
Belle: Shawn and I are taking Claire from Philip, and we're gonna disappear.
Marlena: [Gasps] Belle, what? When?
Belle: A few minutes.
Marlena: Oh, my gosh. What are you thinking? Belle, please.
Belle: Mom, I cannot let Philip and Victor take my baby away from me.
Marlena: That is not a done deal. You've got to wait till the judge can pass a final decision on permanent custody.
Belle: Victor paid Willow $10,000 to get on the stand and lie about Shawn. You think he can't buy a judge?
Marlena: Kidnaping is a felony.
Belle: We don't have a choice.
Marlena: You do have a choice. In three months, you can prove --
Belle: In three months, she'll be gone, Mom. She's gonna be gone tomorrow. Philip is taking her out of the country.
Marlena: You know, you can't assume --
Belle: He's bringing Claire here to be immunized today. This is my last chance, or I'm never gonna see her again.
Marlena: How do I help?
Steve: Hey. You know...you're missing the point. I'm on your side. That's why I'm here.
E.J.: Why would I want to believe a thing like that?
Steve: Because you're smart. You got a pretty señorita there. You know, the smart thing for you to do is to go back and give them your side of the story.
E.J.: How about I write them a note?
Steve: A note. About how you shot John Black in self-defense? About all the little things you've been doing? All the people you almost killed? Including me... and my wife...when you exposed us to that poison gas? What are you gonna write in your little note about that?
E.J.: [Laughs] Either you have a very vivid imagination or you're really insane. Now, what was this about John Black being shot?
Steve: He's in a coma. They don't think he's coming out.
E.J.: Well...they didn't think you would make it, either. And look, here you are, rubbing elbows with your new best friend. My prayers are with John and his family. And I can assure you...I had nothing to do with his unfortunate accident.
Steve: Why you laying low in Mexico if you didn't do anything wrong?
E.J.: Laying low? I'm on holiday.
Steve: That's all it is, huh?
E.J.: I didn't shoot John Black. I did leave Salem for a reason. I knew when Samantha was trying to help me escape, the Salem Police Department were looking to set me up. Now, I'm not somebody who's gonna go and sit down and play patsy to Bo and Roman and the rest of the Keystone Kops, so I left. But I had nothing to do with anything criminal.
Steve: You know, when I close my eye, you sound just like British royalty.
E.J.: [Laughs] I'm flattered.
Steve: But you're not what you sound like it all, are you? According to the person who saw you shoot John Black, you're nothing but a low-class coward.
Belle: You would help us get away with Claire?
Marlena: Your dad agreed. We're still connected. And there's nothing we wouldn't do for you.
Belle: Yeah, well, Shawn and I talked about it, and we don't want our parents involved. Technically, you're right. We're breaking the law, and I just don't want you mixed up in any of it.
Marlena: Too late. We're mixed up in it now. And we wouldn't be anywhere else.
Belle: And I love you for that.
Marlena: I can't even imagine how much I'm gonna miss you. Oh, Belle. Oh, Belle.
Shawn D.: Hey. I'm sorry to interrupt, but we got to go.
Marlena: You better make damn sure you take good care of my girls.
Shawn D.: She knows? Look, I promise. I'm gonna take care of them.
Marlena: All right. [Crying] You be so careful. And you, you be so careful, too. And I will be praying for you every second -- every single second. You've got to wake up. You have to wake up. You have to wake up now! John, oh, please, I need you. Please, oh, please, please.
Chelsea: I can't believe that you would say such a horrible thing to me. Why is it childish for me to want to have a father that cares about me? Don't I deserve to have a relationship with him?
Kate: Deserve? No, not if he doesn't want one, Chelsea. I don't get this. You are such a bright girl. Why are you so desperate to be included in Bo's life -- in his family?
Chelsea: I know it's probably very hard for you to understand, but I was lonely growing up. I didn't have a big family, and that's all I ever wanted -- a lot of people to sit around with each other at Thanksgiving, lots of food, music, kids, noise. Just like the Bradys -- big family.
Kate: Ah, big family. Breeding children just to have a lot of people around you? That's not really a good idea, Chelsea.
Kate: Dilutes the gene pool.
Chelsea: You mean like Sami. You really hate her, don't you? The whole town giving her this award -- it's really tearing you up inside, isn't it? You're acting just as bad as she does.
Kate: No, I'm not.
Chelsea: Could have fooled me.
Hope: Sami, congratu-- I'm so proud of you.
Kayla: Congratulations. How exciting for you.
Sami: Thank you. Yeah, it's sort of crazy. You know, these kinds of things don't really happen to me, so I really don't know how to --
Hope: Will, what do you think of your mom? Oh, oh, I missed that. That says it all.
Sami: His friends made it.
Bo: You done good, kiddo. We're all proud of you.
Sami: Thanks, Uncle Bo.
Kayla: Excuse us a second, would you? Did you get ahold of Steve?
Bo: No, no. I couldn't get through, but I'll try again later.
Kayla: Something is wrong, Bo. I can feel it.
E.J.: Patch, the old eyewitness gambit -- come on, only time that ever works is at the cinema.
Steve: Well, this is not the cinema. This is real life, and they've got a real witness.
E.J.: Good. I'm sure that once they talk to the police, the police will understand I was nowhere near the scene when John Black was shot.
Steve: So why don't you go back and tell them that yourself, clear your name?
E.J.: Why? They've already tried to put the squeeze on Patrick Lockhart to set me up. John Black isn't gonna be talking anytime soon, and now suddenly, out of the blue, they find a witness. No, sorry. I'm not buying it.
Steve: John Black could still come out of that coma.
E.J.: It's possible, but it's pretty unlikely. Stranger things have happened, I suppose.
Steve: Okay, just wanted to give you a friendly heads-up.
E.J.: Appreciate it. Now, if you will excuse me, there is a certain...señorita I have to attend to.
Steve: Just one more thing. Someone helped you pass the police roadblocks the night you escaped. Now, the least you can do after I winged it all the way down here is tell me who that was.
E.J.: I'd let go of that if I were you.
Steve: Why is that?
E.J.: I'm a respected patron of this establishment -- generous tipper. I think a lot of these people would be rather upset if somebody was to threaten me.
Steve: Threaten? [Laughs] There's no threat, man. I'm just talking. So, who got you out of town ahead of the police?
E.J.: That would be my fairy Godmother. [Both laugh]
E.J.: Listen, I do appreciate you coming down here to help me, especially with your condition and everything.
Steve: My condition?
E.J.: Yeah, I mean, I hear that you've been acting a little bonkers lately, you know, kind of strange, peculiar. Might it have anything to do with bad memories coming back to torture you? I'm sorry, Patch, old buddy. Did I hit a nerve, hmm?
Chelsea: Sami...I think it's really incredibly awesome that you saved somebody's life. It's gonna be so cool living down the hall from you.
Sami: Well, don't sell tickets or anything.
Chelsea: I won't, but, um, how did you do it? Seriously? I mean, how did you turn the whole Brady family around to be on your side? Before, they wouldn't spit on you if you were on fire.
Chelsea: I mean --
Sami: No, it's okay. I know what you meant.
Chelsea: Well, it's not like you robbed a bank or killed anybody.
Sami: No, but I made a lot of mistakes that hurt a lot of people.
Chelsea: Well, you got any advice for the pain in the butt in training?
Sami: [Laughs] Yeah, yeah, there's one thing I've learned...about this family in particular. No matter how much you annoy them, they're still rooting for you, you know? They're willing to give you another chance because they want you to prove that you've got the right stuff. So, Chelsea, just don't miss the opportunity of what comes your way to prove who you really are. Don't give up on yourself. It'll happen for you, too.
Chelsea: From your lips. Well, thank you for the pep talk and for getting my mom and me into that apartment.
Sami: Yeah, of course. No pro-- [Door closes] Um, I'm sorry, excuse me. It's my mom. Hi, Mom.
Marlena: Hi, sweetheart.
Sami: How's John?
Marlena: Well, there's no change. He's just the same. I'm so glad to be here. I'm so proud of you.
Sami: Thanks. Well...
Marlena: I think you better go mingle some.
Sami: Oh, okay. Well, I guess I will, then. We'll catch up later?
Marlena: We will. I love you. Oh, honey, I'm so proud.
Kayla: Marlena, have you talked to Belle? Neither she nor Shawn will answer their cellphones.
Marlena: Us, yes, I just left them at the hospital, and it's too late to stop them now.
Bo: Stop them from what? [Cellphone ringing]
Shawn D.: Yeah?
Mimi: Okay, Philip and Claire are here. They just went in the building. I'm heading back to the car.
Shawn D.: All right, thanks, Meems. Tell M ax to keep the motor running. This is it. Are you ready?
Philip: Belle? What are you doing here?
Kate: "My mom is Sami Brady and yours isn't"? [Chuckles] What, are you bragging or are you crying out for help?
Will: You know, what is your problem?
Kate: Why are you talking to me like that?
Will: 'Cause everyone here in town is proud of my mom except for you.
Kate: Well, sweetie, just because I'm in the minority doesn't mean that I'm wrong.
Will: Or you're just jealous. You wish you could have been the one to save my dad.
Kate: No, you see, I couldn't have saved your dad, and neither could your mother have.
Will: Well, you know what? She did, and you know what's gonna happen if you keep on ragging on her like that? You're gonna lose me and dad for good.
Marlena: Belle and Shawn are at the hospital. They're planning to snatch Claire away from Philip.
Hope: Have they lost their minds?
Marlena: No, they lost their daughter.
Kayla: Well, that explains why he wanted to know the time and place of that appointment.
Hope: You spoke to Shawn?
Hope: Why didn't you tell me?
Kayla: Because I said I wouldn't.
Bo: I asked her to call him, keep the lines of communication open.
Hope: Who are you calling?
Bo: Shawn. Marlena, you want to try Belle?
Hope: Oh, my God. We've got to stop them before it's too late.
Marlena: No. We're not going to try to stop them. Shawn and Belle are doing exactly the right thing.
Philip: Belle. I asked what you're doing here.
Belle: I'm here to see my dad. He's not doing very well.
Philip: I'm sorry to hear that. John's one of the best.
Belle: I don't know what I'm gonna do if he doesn't make it.
Philip: Well, don't give up hope.
Belle: Yeah, I'm trying not to, but, you know, with everything else going on, it's kind of hard. Why is Claire here?
Philip: She's been sneezing a lot.
Belle: Oh, is she running a fever?
Philip: No, no other symptoms, just the sneezing. I wanted an immunologist to check her out, see if she might have some allergies.
Belle: Well, you know that I definitely prefer to have her with me, but I'm really glad that you're taking such good care of her. Can I hold her?
Philip: You know, we're already late for her appointment.
Belle: Philip, please, just for a minute. Please?
Steve: Wait a minute. Hey, hey, hey! Tell me more about these bad memories.
E.J.: So, you don't have any -- you don't have any strange noises playing in your head? Little disturbing memories, flashes of violence going on?
Steve: Who did this to me?!
Steve: Was it Stefano?! Tell me! What the hell did he do to me?! You talk to me right now! Talk to me!
E.J.: Get him out of here. Now, you listen to me, Patch, old pal. Things are soon going to become very clear for you. You never know, it might take you somewhere exciting, eh? Someplace angels fear to tread.
Steve: Aaaaaaah! Aah! Aah! I'm gonna kill you!
E.J.: Get him out of here.
Steve: Aah! Aah!
E.J.: Hey! Lunatic! When you get back to town, you say hi to Benjy for me, huh?
Steve: I'm gonna kill you! I'm gonna kill you!
Roman: All right, ladies and gentlemen, friends and family... I am here on behalf of the Salem Police Department and the office of the district attorney to present Salem's good Samaritan award to someone very near and dear to my heart. Someone who I love like a daughter because, of course, she is my daughter. Samantha Brady, get on up here, girl, come on. [Cheers and applause] Sami J., you did good. I guess how Sami saved Lucas' life -- I guess it's local legend by now. So, Sami, this is your big day. And as they say, without further ado, I want to present this award...honoring your strength and courage in a time of severe crisis. Congratulations. I'm very proud of you. [Applause]
Bo: All right, Sami.
Lucas: Yeah! Whoo! Thatagirl!
Sami: Thanks, Dad. Um, uh [Sighs] You have no idea how much this means to me. Um, and I want to thank my family and everyone for giving me a second and third and fourth chance. Especially I want to thank Lucas [Sighs] for giving me the strength to do what I had to do to save his life. And, in a way, he was kind of saving my life, too... because I don't know how I would live without him. Lucas, I love you.
Marlena: Me too, me too, me too. Well done.
Sami: Thanks, Mom.
Marlena: She deserves this. You know what? Shawn and Belle deserve to have their daughter, too.
Bo: They're breaking the law.
Marlena: Bo, Philip had a passport in Claire's name. He brought her to the hospital to get her inoculations. Philip and Victor were taking Claire out of the country for good, so what choice did Shawn and Belle have?
Hope: Our son is doing exactly what you'd do in his place.
Belle: Philip, please, just let me hold her, just for a second. Hi. Hi! How are you, my baby? You got the sniffles and the sneezes? It's okay, mommy's here. Mommy's here. I'm so glad that you're back in my arms. I'm so glad that daddy's taking such good care of you. Shawn!
Shawn D.: Go, Belle, go! Run! Claire's my daughter, not yours. You stay the hell away from her.
Belle: We made it.
Max: Where's Shawn?
Belle: He was right behind me, but Philip's right behind him. [Engine turns over]
Max: Come on, let's go! Go, go, go!
Shawn D.: Go, go, go! Go, Max, go!
Philip: Give me my daughter back! Give her back! [Tires squeal]
Bartender: Señor Wells, are you all right?
E.J.: I'm fine, just bring me the bill.
Bartender: For you, it is free.
E.J.: Just bring me the bloody bill. My wallet. My cellphone.
Steve: Oh. [Breathing heavily] [Chuckles] [Indistinct conversations]
Kate: Sami... I know that we've been at odds in the past. But if it wasn't for you, my son wouldn't be alive right now. He wouldn't be standing here, so, um...that's enough for me to forget the past...and move on from here.
Philip: Where are they?! Shawn and Belle stole her! They're gone! Shawn and Belle stole my daughter. And anyone in this room who helped them is going to pay.
Steve: Look what I found in his wallet. That's the dude's travel visa. And if he wants to replace it, he's gonna have to come back to the old US of A.
Philip: Belle and Shawn started this war, but I'm finishing it. I'm not taking any prisoners.
Belle: Do you really think that we're never gonna be safe?
Lexie: What are you talking about?
Tek: Let's go together. Let's run away.
