Lexie: Your blood pressure's 120/85.
Kayla: I thought it was a little high.
Lexie: Yeah. You nervous?
Kayla: About finding out if Steve really got his memory back? Yeah, I'm scared to death.
Lexie: Are you sure you want to do this?
Kayla: I have to find out the truth, Lexie.
Steve: I know, but we only just got here.
Billie: I-I had no idea you were going out of town with Kayla..
Steve: Well, neither did I. Look, it's not what you think. Kayla said she needed to take this trip, get out of town, blow out the cobwebs or something.
Billie: Uh-huh. And you agreed to it.
Steve: Well, I figured that once we got away from Salem and away from her family, all that pressure, it would be easier for me to tell her the truth.
Billie: The truth?
Steve: Yeah, the opposite of what I've been telling her. [Sighs] I need to tell Kayla that I don't remember our past...and I probably never will.
Billie: Are you sure?
Steve: It's way past time.
Billie: Well, I know you will, but be gentle.
Steve: The last thing I want to do is hurt Kayla.
Billie: I know. I'll see you soon.
Chelsea: Let me guess -- your favorite pirate.
Billie: Don't start, Chelsea.
Chelsea: So you got a thing for Steve. I think it's great.
Billie: Since when?
Chelsea: Mom...love is a really rare and amazing thing.
Chelsea: I'm serious. There's nothing like finding your true love, your soul mate.
Billie: Mmm. And -- and -- and how did you, all of a sudden, come to this conclusion?
Chelsea: Because I found mine.
Billie: Your what?
Chelsea: My soul mate.
Bonnie: Now, honey, I thought the whole idea was for you to come home from the hospital and get some rest.
Patrick: Yeah, well, I have some business to take care of before I leave town with Hope.
Bonnie: Another mystery. Well...why would you go anywhere near the wife of the man who nearly beat you to death?
Patrick: Mom, I am not gonna let bo keep me away from Hope or my baby.
Bonnie: Well, you've got a death wish going on all fronts, don't you? Unless...
Patrick: Unless what?
Bonnie: Bo's not the one who gave you your little make over, huh?
Patrick: Who else would have done this?
Bo: Yeah, just get it to me as soon as you can. I appreciate it. What do you want?
E.J.: I came to accept your apology for accusing me of kidnaping your granddaughter.
Bo: I didn't apologize.
E.J.: You recognize this girl?
Bo: She brought Claire back. P.D. checked her out. Her record's clean.
E.J.: That's because somebody went to a great deal of trouble to have her record expunged.
Bo: This is Phoenix 10 years ago.
E.J.: It doesn't make it any less valid.
Bo: How does a race-car driver get information that was buried so deep the Salem P.D. couldn't find it?
Willow: [Chuckles] Your game's off. How come? Claire's home safe.
Shawn D.: Yeah, well, if it wasn't for me, she would have never been missing in the first place.
Willow: You -- you weren't even there.
Shawn D.: Yeah, it's starting to become a theme with me -- not being there for my kid.
Willow: Shawn, you have a place to live and a job, and you're paying way more than half of Claire's expenses.
Shawn D.: That's what parents are supposed to do, Willow.
Willow: Well, tell that to Belle. She's living off of mommy and daddy, taking your money, and she can't even keep track of her own kid. You are not the one who screwed up.
Belle: Gosh, can you ever forgive me? I promise I will never turn my back on you again, not even for a second.
Hope: Why don't you let me watch Claire? You go take a shower, relax.
Belle: No, I'm fine.
Hope: Are you sure?
Belle: Look, I know that you think that this was my fault.
Hope: Honey, I'm just worried about you.
Belle: Well, it certainly didn't help matters that Shawn blamed me.
Hope: Shawn was scared to death.
Belle: So am I.
Hope: I know. This is very tough on everyone. Honey, Shawn has been trying really hard. He's done everything that you've asked him to do, and yet you still won't let him spend any time with his daughter.
Belle: Look, I know that I'm not being totally fair, but I'm not trying to hurt Shawn. I just -- I cannot get past the fact that he's sleeping with a prostitute.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.
Hope: You should really watch what you say in front of Claire, especially since it's not true.
Belle: You expect me to believe that Shawn's not sleeping with Willow.
Hope: Shawn and I don't discuss his personal life. All I know is that she's not doing that anymore. She's working at Chez Rouge. She's trying to turn her life around, and Shawn is trying to help her do that.
Belle: Because he has a good heart, which is part of the reason that I want Claire to spend some time with him.
Hope: Then why don't you let her?
Belle: Because every time I turn around, Shawn is with Willow, and you know what? I don't care if she turns her life inside out, upside down, or all around. I don't want her anywhere near my daughter.
Hope: You sure it's your daughter and not Shawn?
Belle: You think I'm jealous?
Hope: What I think is there's still a lot of unresolved feelings between the two of you. You're both coming off very difficult breakups, trying to figure out where you stand with each other. But all of that said, you can't -- you can't let your problems with Shawn affect Claire.
Shawn D.: I'm living in an expensive apartment because some guy, who might be a crook, is paying me tons of money to deliver packages for him. That doesn't make me a good dad, Willow. That makes me a jerk.
Willow: You don't know E.J.'s bad.
Shawn D.: Well, my dad thinks so.
Willow: Oh, your dad -- another one who wants to run your life.
Shawn D.: What if he's right? What am I gonna tell Claire when I end up in jail?
Willow: You're not going to go to jail. You're just freaking out because of what happened with Claire.
Shawn D.: I need to make things right, Willow. I need to make it so that the next time Claire's in trouble, I'm the one that Belle calls.
Willow: How are you gonna do that?
Shawn D.: Coming clean with her...telling her everything.
Chelsea: I downloaded it from my video blog.
Billie: Oh, sure. Where else are you supposed to meet your soul mate?
Chelsea: I should have known not to say anything to you.
Billie: Well, Chelsea, come on. You've never even meet this guy, and he's at least 10 years older than you, and he sends you a picture from a video blog -- I'm supposed to believe he's your soul mate?
E.J.: I'm more than just a race-car driver, Bo.
Bo: I don't doubt that.
E.J.: I'm also part owner of a media company. Now, we have reporters. Reporters have sources, and some of those sources are not very keen on talking to the authorities.
Bo: Why give this to me?
E.J.: So that you'll come to the obvious conclusion that I had absolutely nothing to do with Claire's disappearance or any of the other unpleasantness that's been going on in Salem.
Patrick: I told the cops and everybody else that Bo is the one who put me in the hospital.
Bonnie: Then why would E.J. tell me he was responsible?
Patrick: You've been talking to E.J.?
Bonnie: Face to gorgeous face.
Patrick: What would possess you to do something like that?
Bonnie: A little chat I had with Mimi about Shawn making beaucoup bucks delivering little messages between you and E.J.
Patrick: Why don't the two of you just mind your own business?
Bonnie: You are my business. And that's why I told Mr. Wells he better give me a few thousand good reasons not go to the police or that's exactly what I would do. And guess what -- he did.
Patrick: You're blackmailing E.J.?
Bonnie: I had to show him who's boss.
Patrick: He is the boss, Mom. So keep your nose out of this or you're gonna get us all killed.
Lexie: Call me if you need anything, okay?
Steve: Okay. Thanks for everything, Lexie.
Lexie: You're welcome.
Steve: Bundle up. Yeah.
Kayla: Weird, huh... being back here?
Kayla: I, um, I kind of thought maybe it would be an interesting place for us to come to. I mean, not that we had that much fun when we were here before, but... but at least we were together.
Steve: Kayla... stop. I can't do this anymore.
Kayla: You can't do what?
Steve: Lie. I can't lie to you anymore. I don't remember us. I don't remember loving you. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I thought you were gonna die, so I told you that I got my memory back, but I didn't, not the way you think. I got a few bits and pieces here and there, but I got -- I got none of the feelings.
Kayla: It's okay. Really. I -- I already knew.
Kayla: I already knew that something wasn't right. I was afraid this was it.
Steve: Then why come here?
Kayla: I just had to know the truth. And now I do. I'll, um....I'll get my things.
Steve: Kayla, wait, wait. Just a second.
Woman: Another round for the house on me. [Cheering]
Bo: Hey, hey, what are you celebrating?
Woman: Got a big bonus at work.
Bo: Ooh, wow. What is it you do?
Bo: Oh, nice. You know, it's funny. As far as I know, they don't let people with a record anywhere near a kid.
Woman: Nice talking to you.
Bo: Why'd you do it? Why'd you take the kid, pretend to find her, then bring her back?
Woman: Look, I'm square with the cops. If I was running some kind of scam, I would have grabbed that reward money and run.
Bo: Maybe you got your payoff from someone else, huh?
Willow: So, what, you're gonna say to her, "hey, Belle. You know what? I'm not fixing cars for a living. I'm actually delivering packages for E.J. and getting paid loads in cash. By the way, I'm not living alone. I'm shacking up with Willow?
Shawn D.: Yeah, that's exactly what I'm gonna say.
Willow: Look, Claire getting "lost" or "misplaced" or whatever Belle is calling it has made you a little nuts. You're not thinking straight. I have to go to work and pick up my check and put it in the bank.
Shawn D.: Okay.
Willow: While I'm away, you take a shower. When I get back, we're gonna go for a ride with the top down.
Shawn D.: I don't feel --
Willow: Hey, you have to go clear your head and work it out, okay? I'll be back.
Steve: I'm sorry, Kayla. Listen, I don't want to make this harder for you. But there's something I need to say to you.
Steve: Sit down. Come on. Please? [Sighs] Since I've been in Salem... I've seen you with Stephanie, with your family. I can see you're a really good person. You're a good mom. You're smart. You're generous. You're strong -- a lot of things I'm not.
Kayla: Oh, yes, you are those things. You are and more.
Steve: No, I'm a bum, Kayla. But not you. You're something special. And I just want you to know, I really admire you.
Kayla: But you don't love me.
Steve: That look right there. It's a look I never wanted to see. I never wanted to hurt you, Kayla.
Kayla: I know that.
Steve: I just hope someday you can forgive me.
Chelsea: Look, Mom...I know that I've made a lot of mistakes in the past, but I'm through screwing up. I'm done hurting people. I want to be somebody that you can be proud of.
Billie: Just hearing you say that make me proud.
Chelsea: Well, it's because of him. He made me want to change and be a better person.
Billie: Or maybe you're just growing up.
Chelsea: Why can't you give him any credit?
Billie: Because he's a made-up person on the internet, Chelsea.
Chelsea: No, he's not. You know what? And I'm gonna prove it to you.
Billie: Wait, hey.
Chelsea: Come on.
Billie: Where are we going?
Chelsea: We are going home so that you can see for yourself that he's real and he's amazing.
Bo: Did E.J. Wells pay you to take the kid?
Man: I don't know any E.J. Wells.
Bo: Now I know you're lying. He's a famous race-car driver. He's all over the TV, magazines.
Man: Just 'cause I drink beer doesn't mean I'm into watching cars go around in circles.
Bo: Where'd you get the damn money?
Man: Unless you're the IRS, it's none of your damn business.
Patrick: So...where did Bo go? I saw him drive you home last night. He didn't leave until this morning.
Hope: Are you spying on me?
Patrick: No, I'm trying to protect you.
Hope: I don't need protection from Bo.
Patrick: Well, you must be in some major denial if you can't see that he has a serious violence problem.
Hope: He's been dealing with a lot.
Patrick: Yeah, and you keep making excuses for him. The truth is he should be in jail.
Hope: And you agreed to drop the charges.
Patrick: I did that for you.
Hope: I know, and I appreciate it. I'm very grateful.
Patrick: Okay, then I want you to keep up your end of the deal and go away with me.
Stephanie: All right, so, I was sure he was gonna be this huge geek, but check it out.
Abby: Wait, that's Chelsea's internet mystery man?
Abby: Stephanie, where did you get that?
Stephanie: Chelsea sent it to me. He e-mailed it to her. Come on, he is totally hot.
Nick: Lukewarm. [Clears throat]
Abby: Yeah, he's pretty hot.
Stephanie: Yeah, and Chelsea really wants to meet him, and you know what? Who wouldn't? He is sensitive and gorgeous.
Abby: Well, does Mr. Perfect have a name?
Stephanie: Nope, just Lonely Splicer. I think he might be some kind of movie director or something. [Cellphone vibrates] Oh, you know what? I got to take this. I will be right -- hello?
Nick: See, now, that's someone who's hot. Do you know her?
Abby: I know who she is. She's an ex-hooker that lives with Shawn.
Nick: She looks so wholesome.
Abby: In a hot sort of way? So much for your undying love for Chelsea.
Nick: I was merely making a sociological observation.
Abby: Well, you better start thinking about your sociological status, because once Chelsea finds out that you're Lonely Splicer, she's gonna kill you.
Kayla: You're still the same. You do something good, and you can't see it.
Steve: What did I do? I broke your heart. That's what I did.
Kayla: Are you kidding? You -- you kept me alive. I get to go on because of you. I just don't get to go on with you.
Steve: I'm sorry.
Kayla: Honestly, I have no idea why you were taken away from me. And I don't know why you came back without your memory.
Steve: I don't know, either.
Kayla: But we have to accept it. Things happen that are out of our control. I can't change it. I can't make life come out the way I want it to.
Steve: Damn right you can’t.
Kayla: So I'm gonna stop trying. Um...truthfully, I-I don't want you to be with me if you don't want to. All I ever wanted was for you to be happy, too.
Steve: That's what I want for you, Kayla.
Kayla: Also, will you do me a favor? Be my friend.
Steve: Of course I'm your friend. Come here.
Kayla: Friends, then. You know, I-I-I think I'm just gonna pull myself together.
Bonnie: Ah, yes.
E.J.: This is an interesting choice for a meeting place.
Bonnie: It's my can of beer. Get it -- cup of tea, can of beer?
E.J.: Why exactly did you call me down here?
Bonnie: It's about Patrick.
E.J.: Mrs. Lockhart, your son's a grown man. I don't think he needs you running interference for him.
Bonnie: My son is in way over his head with you. He may not know it, but I do. And sometimes when one is over their head, they have to skedaddle out of town in a hurry.
E.J.: What exactly is your point?
Bonnie: Skedaddling requires resources.
E.J.: Resources. Resources in addition to the considerable sum of money that I already pay your son?
Bonnie: See, that's a perfect example where Patrick is not as mature as you think he is. He somehow misplaced that money.
E.J.: [Scoffs] Really? Oh, I see. And let me guess -- you think that I should replace it. Is that right?
Bonnie: Not for nothing. I'm more than willing to make a fair trade.
E.J.: What exactly is it that you have that you think that you could offer me?
Bonnie: Step into my office, and we'll negotiate.
Hope: I said I'd go to Chicago with you. I will. Just please don't tell Bo. I want to be the one to tell him.
Patrick: All right. I've made all the arrangements. We leave in two weeks.
Hope: Two weeks? That's right before Christmas. I can't go away then, especially not this year. It's our first year without -- without Zack.
Patrick: I know. But look, I let Bo off the hook because you asked me to. I held up my end of the deal. I -- I just want to spend some time with you. Is that too much to ask?
Hope: It wouldn't be...if I was sure that it was Bo who beat you up.
Chelsea: So, what do you think?
Billie: I think your mystery man sure has a way with words.
Chelsea: He's practically a poet. He's kind of like Eminem.
Billie: Oh, yeah. He's my favorite poet.
Chelsea: Mom, I'm serious. Maybe you don't understand -- I mean, kind of the way I didn't understand the whole thing with you and Steve. But we can't help the way we feel. I mean, I could seriously see myself spending the rest of my life with this guy.
Billie: Okay, seriously, this guy could be a drug dealer or ax murderer.
Chelsea: Or a doctor.
Chelsea: He's a doctor. Look. Right there around his neck -- it's a stethoscope. He's sensitive, beautiful, and a doctor. I got to go.
Billie: Wait, where are you going?
Chelsea: Um, I just thought of somebody that could help me track him down.
Nick: Chelsea won't find out that I'm Lonely Splicer until a precisely calculated, predetermined time. Now, when that time arrives, the outcome will be the opposite of your supposition.
Abby: Nick, Chelsea's someone you can't really predict.
Nick: Okay, I know she's volatile, but she's not unmanageable.. I liken her to the hydrogen atom -- powerful and highly effective when used wisely, deadly when not.
Abby: Well, I hope this doesn't just blow up in your face. Anyways, nice picture. Looks exactly like you.
Nick: Yeah, I know. We're like twins, huh? No, he's my boss. I took his picture on my camera phone.
Abby: Your boss? Nick, you sent Chelsea a picture of someone you work with?
Nick: Abby, statistically speaking, the odds of Chelsea finding out that he works at University Hospital are, like, infinitesimal.
Stephanie: Guys, guess what. Chelsea just called. Lonely Splicer is a doctor.
Nick: Oh. [Clears throat] [Knock on door]
Shawn D.: What's the matter? Did you forget something? Uh, Belle. I wasn't expecting you.
Belle: Sorry I didn't call first.
Shawn D.: No, that's okay. Um, come on in.
Belle: Shawn, I --
Shawn D.: Belle, I just -- [Both laugh] Um...go ahead. You first.
Belle: Okay. Well, I came here to tell you that I haven't been fair to you. I asked you to show me that you were responsible enough to take care of Claire, and you did. You did everything I asked. And I still haven't let you spend time with her.
Shawn D.: I know. You're just -- you're looking out for her. But I must admit, I-I feel like I've been beating my head up against a brick wall. I don't know what else I can do to make you trust me.
Belle: It's not you. You're not the problem.
Shawn D.: I know. It's Willow. [Thunder crashes]
Person: Housekeeping. [Thunder crashes] Is anyone in there?
Steve: Kayla. Kayla, open up. Kayla. Kayla. [Knock on door] Open the door.
E.J.: Now, Mrs. Lockhart... generally speaking, in a negotiation, each side has something that they bring to the table. Now, I'm under the impression that you're expecting me to proffer a considerable amount of cash. What exactly is it that you have that you think you can offer me?
Bonnie: Well, I know sometimes a man in a foreign country gets, um, lonely, especially a gentleman such as yourself -- adrift in a sea of commoners.
E.J.: I'm practically drowning.
Bonnie: See? Consider me your life preserver. You just grab on, baby, and I'll keep you up as long as necessary.
E.J.: Mrs. Lockhart, are you trying to seduce me?
Bonnie: [Laughs] Stop. Seduction? Hell, that takes too long..
E.J.: Hey, whoa!
Nick: Oh. Excuse me. Hello, I'm Nick.
Nick: In addition to introducing myself, I wanted to tell you that I find you, though not a "hottie," extremely hot. Not as measured by degrees, of course, but in a purely sexual context.
Willow: Oh, I get it. Well, tell your friends to go to hell and take you with them, you pathetic loser.
Nick: Huh. Pathetic loser. Well, it's a step up from four-eyed geek, right?
Stephanie: [Chuckles] Guys, well, I got to go. Let me know if you hear anything else about the Lonely Splicer.
Abby: All right. Okay, Nick, what was that all about?
Nick: I was playing the field so no one suspects I'm Lonely Splicer.
Abby: Mmm. Smooth. Yeah, but I think Chelsea's the one you need to keep in the dark.
Nick: I got it covered, okay?
Abby: And when she finds out that her "dream guy" is you?
Nick: By then she'll be so in love with me, she couldn't possibly be upset.
Abby: Nick, were you raised in a test tube?
Patrick: So, what? I threw myself in front of a bus?
Hope: Patrick, I'm not sure what happened.
Patrick: You know what happened. Bo beat the hell out of me. Look, he wasn't thinking about what the two of you have. He was thinking about what we have -- a future, a baby. And that's what drove him to do this.
Hope: Something's not right here.
Patrick: Bo! Bo isn't right. He has lied to you over and over again. He has hurt you, and you still believe in him. Look, I just want you to trust me, Hope. That's why this trip is so important.
Hope: And I said that I would go.
Patrick: Good. All right, then. I just want you to be ready.
Hope: For what?
Patrick: To be convinced... that I'm the man for you.
Shawn D.: Can I get you a drink or anything?
Belle: No, I'm okay.
Shawn D.: Here. Here, go ahead, sit down.
Belle: [Clears throat] Well, you know, as much as I would love to blame Willow for all of our problems, I can’t. Shawn, you were my best friend since...forever.
Shawn D.: And you were mine, too. I thought that, that would never change, even when you married Philip.
Belle: Me neither.
Shawn D.: Then what happened?
Belle: You married Mimi. No, I know. I know I have no right because I was with Philip, but I can't help it. And it wasn't because you married her, and it wasn't even because you loved her. It was because she was your best friend.
Shawn D.: I was just trying to make my marriage work.
Belle: I know you did what you needed to do. What I'm trying to say is, when you told me that you and I didn't have a future together, I-I cut myself off. I put up all wall to protect myself from being hurt again.
Shawn D.: Mimi and I are through. That wall -- it can come down.
Belle: It's not that easy.
Shawn D.: Come on. Sure it is. Mimi -- she's out of the picture.
Belle: I know, and as soon as she was, you turned to Willow, not me. Why didn't you turn to me instead of some stranger -- a prostitute, no less?
Person: Is someone there?
Steve: Kayla! Kayla, open up!
Kayla: What's going on?
Steve: We can't let him find us.
Steve: Who? Kiriakis. He wants that disk. He'll kill us to get it.
Kayla: The disk, Kiriakis -- Steve --
Steve: Shh, shh, shh. They'll hear you.
Kayla: There is no disk. There's no Victor chasing us. That was from your past.
Steve: I got to do something. I got to get rid of him.
Steve: Shh, shh, shh.
E.J.: Flattered though I am by your offer... I'm afraid my heart is already spoken for.
Bonnie: Oh, it's not your heart I'm after.
E.J.: Yeah, I gathered. I gathered. And your devotion to your son is...admirable.
Bonnie: I'd do anything for my kids.
E.J.: Apparently you would.
Bonnie: I just don't know what else I can give you.
E.J.: Your word...that I never hear from you again.
Bonnie: I can't take your money.
E.J.: Sure you can, Mrs. Lockhart. Because this is in your best interests and your son's best interests.
Bonnie: Deal. Done.
E.J.: Yes, we are.
Bonnie: Unless...your heart ever becomes unspoken for.
Shawn D.: Willow is not a hooker anymore. She's a good person who got a bad deal. But she helped me out, and I helped her out.
Belle: Are you still... helping her?
Shawn D.: Yeah.
Belle: Well, I appreciate your being honest with me.
Shawn D.: I want to be completely honest with you, Belle.
Belle: What do you mean?
Shawn D.: For one, there's my job. My dad thinks that E.J.'s into something illegal and that I shouldn't be involved with him.
Belle: What do you think?
Shawn D.: I don't know. I really don't know. But if my dad's right, I'm out of there.
Belle: Well, I trust you to do the right thing. What?
Shawn D.: There's one more thing -- something that I haven't been completely honest with you about.
E.J.: This is your one and only warning, Patrick. If your mother ever asks me for another dime, you're gonna rue the day that you were born.
Kayla: Steve, this isn't happening. There is no disk, and there's nobody after us.
Steve: They're right outside the door. They want to kill us. I got to do something. What can I do?
Kayla: Listen to me. Listen to me -- you're remembering something from years ago.
Steve: I got to protect you.
Kayla: No, no, Steve, look at me. I am fine. I'm fine -- see?
Steve: They want to kill us! I won't let them hurt you, sweetness. I won’t.
Belle: Talk to me. Come on. If you and I are gonna be friends again, then we need to be able to trust each other. You can trust me. Just tell me what's going on.
Willow: Hey! Oh, Belle. Didn't know we had company. So, are you ready to go for that romantic drive?
Patrick: I told my mother to stay away from you.
E.J.: Hmm, well, I don't think she got the message, Patrick. See, I just left her at some vile little establishment called the cheating heart.
Patrick: I'm sorry to hear that.
E.J.: Shut up, all right? You're pathetic, Patrick. You know that? You can't even control your own mother. She comes asking for money from me not once, but twice. And this time, she claims it's for you.
Patrick: Well, I hope you didn't give it to her.
E.J.: I did. And I gave her a little warning.
Steve: [Breathing heavily] I remember.
Kayla: What? What?
Steve: I remember.
Kayla: Oh, God.
Steve: I remember everything. Oh, sweetness. My sweetness.
Bo: I told you what happened. You didn't believe me after all these years, so you know what? I'm out of here.
Hope: No, wait, please.
Bo: I can't live in a house with someone who doesn't trust me..
Willow: Shawn and I share everything, including a bed. Tell her.
Kayla: I can't let you get my hopes up again.
Steve: Kayla, no. Look at me! I'm back.
