Bonnie: Oh, I thought I heard someone. Hey, baby girl.

Mimi: Hi, Mom.

Bonnie: Oh, my goodness. What the heck is all that?

Mimi: Those are Max's ledgers from the garage. They're a total mess.

Bonnie: Wow.

Mimi: Is that a new dress?

Bonnie: Yes, you like?

Mimi: I thought you said you were broke.

Bonnie: Please, give me a break. I may not have thousands of dollars just laying around to foot the bill for your car repairs, but I think I can still take advantage of a lousy factory-outlet sale.

Caroline: How about this? You tell the truth totally and completely. Try it for one week.

Mimi: No, mom, actually, the dress is really awful.

Bonnie: Excuse me?

Mimi: The print is horrendous. The cut is unflattering, and the green in the dress kind of makes your skin look green.

Bonnie: Please don't hold back. Tell me how you really feel.

Mimi: You said you wanted my honest opinion.

Bonnie: You're right. I did. I did. Oh. Right. This is horrible. It's just been so long since I had anything new, I just couldn't resist.

Mimi: I still don't understand where your money is going.

Bonnie: Like I told you, I'm having a cash-flow problem. Business at Alice's has been down, and what little money I have left after I pay all the bills is going towards an investment for the future.

Mimi: Crazy. Here you and I are working our tails off, and we've got nothing. Meanwhile, Patrick does nothing, and he's loaded.

Bonnie: Whoa. Whoa! What do you mean Patrick has money? Since when?

Shawn D.: Not bad for an hour's work, huh?

Willow: You made all of this in an hour?

Shawn D.: Oh, and there is more where that came from.

Willow: And where is that exactly?

Shawn D.: E.J. Wells. You were right, Willow. It was the perfect place to go looking for a job, and you won't believe what I had to do to get that.

Willow: Knock somebody around?

Shawn D.: Nope. All I had to do was deliver stuff between him and some guy named Patrick Lockhart.

Willow: Really?

Shawn D.: Mm-hmm.

Willow: What kind of stuff were you delivering?

Shawn D.: I don't know. But it was just an envelope today. The way that I look at it is that for 500 bucks a pop, I can afford not to know exactly. My dad said I couldn't trust him. But I mean, come on, all right? This guy E.J. -- he's an international celebrity. It's not like he's gonna be some criminal. He's paying me for my time. I'm on call 24-7.

Willow: Well, baby, you are in the money now, and you can take care of your little girl just the way you like.

Shawn D.: And I can prove to everybody, including Belle, that I am worthy of being Claire's father. The first thing I'm gonna do is I'm gonna get a place big enough for a nursery. And it's gonna be nice, and it's gonna be in a great part of town.

Willow: That sounds great. I just have one question. Is there room in the apartment for me?

Billie: Steve...

Steve: Hey. I wasn't sure you were coming back. Did you get Kayla's folks home all right?

Billie: I sure did. And of course I came back. I'm gonna be here until you get better, which should be soon, right? The doctors said it should be soon.

Steve: Well, yeah, as soon as they're sure I'm not a walking chemical spill.

Billie: I cannot wait to be able to touch you. Hey... what's the matter? What's wrong?

Hope: We really did have some great times together, didn't we, the four of us -- you and me and Steve and Kayla?

Bo: Mm-hmm. We sure did.

Hope: Seems like just yesterday, like no time has passed at all. Yet so much has changed, happened. It hurts to look back.

Bo: Fancy Face, it's not too late for us. We can still get back what we once had. We can.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Bo: Man. Never fails.

Hope: Please, don't make a scene. No matter what, Patrick is going to be a part of my life, always will be. I'm having his baby. And besides, I do need to speak to him.

Bo: Now?

Hope: Do you mind, please? We have some unfinished business. Just --

Bo: Fine, do what you got to do.

Hope: Hey.

Patrick: Hey.

Hope: Hi.

Patrick: Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt. I've been looking everywhere for you. You haven't returned my calls.

Hope: Yeah, I know. I'm sorry. I've meant to return your calls. I have. I've just been so busy running back and forth to the hospital. Actually, I really need to get back there to see Steve.

Patrick: Why don't I take you? It'll give us a chance to talk.

Hope: Oh, Patrick, I don't know.

Patrick: Come on, I promise. It won't take that long. I just need a few minutes.

Hope: All right. Let me just tell Bo that -- that I'm leaving.

Bonnie: Answer me, Meems. What makes you think Patrick's got money?

Mimi: Because I saw it.

Bonnie: Saw what?

Mimi: This. I saw this.

Bonnie: Holy crap. That's a hell of a lot of lettuce.

Mimi: Told you. But where do you think he got it?

Bonnie: Who cares where he got it? What are you so worried about?

Mimi: I'm worried because Bo is still watching his every move. And what if Patrick is in some kind of trouble?

Bonnie: Oh, he's not. Besides, if you're so concerned, why don't you just ask him where he got the money?

Mimi: I did, but he gave me some lame excuse about investments paying off.

Bonnie: Maybe it's true.

Mimi: I know my brother. He was lying to me. Maybe you should talk to him. He might tell you what's going on.

Bonnie: And why would he do that?

Mimi: Because he knows you have no scruples. He doesn't have to hide anything.

Bonnie: That's a fine thing to say, even if it is true. Nonetheless, I'm not gonna question my son like he's some kind of criminal.

Mimi: You just don't want to confront him because you're afraid to know the truth.

Billie: Steve, something's wrong. Tell me what it is.

Steve: You know, my body feels like it's been run over by a Mack truck.

Billie: I can imagine.

Steve: And I'm... I'm worried about Stephanie.

Billie: Well, she's gonna be okay. She's gonna be going home soon, right?

Steve: She's okay physically, but I'm worried that if something happens to her mom, I don't think she can take it. You know, she acts all tough on the outside, but underneath that, she's really just a scared little girl looking for her daddy to make everything better. I haven't been able to do a damn thing to help her or her mother.

Billie: Steve, you've been sick yourself. What can you do from inside a quarantine unit?

Steve: I don't know. Maybe nothing. You know, you ought to go home and get some rest. I'm feeling tired myself.

Billie: Okay. See you later.

Steve: See you later.

Nurse: Calling it a night?

Billie: No, actually, I'm gonna go get something to eat, but I'll be back.

Nurse: Okay.

Shawn D.: To be honest, I actually really haven't thought about us moving in together.

Willow: Look, I didn't mean to put you on the spot. It's just with what I make at the restaurant, I can't afford a place of my own. And I just thought since you and I get along so great and everything -- well, it'd be really nice to get out of here, have a little bit more space, a real bathtub and a table to eat at. But I understand. It's not your problem.

Shawn D.: I'm not saying that. You have been really cool to let me stay here, and I want to repay the favor, but I just --

Willow: But you can't have an ex-hooker living in your apartment. Your friends and family wouldn't understand. So, you know what? Let's just forget I mentioned it. It was a really stupid idea.

Shawn D.: Come on. That's not it at all. I don't care what people think. It's just that we haven't really talked about having any sort of a future together, and I'm not in a place --

Willow: Did you just say future together?

Shawn D.: Yeah.

Willow: Shawn, it's not like I asked you to marry me or grow old and gray with me. I'm just looking for a better place to call home or any place to call home 'cause I never exactly had a real one. I just want a place where I can hang pictures on the wall and cook and have friends over and -- oh, God! How pathetic do I sound? I didn't mean to manipulate you with my sob story. Let's just forget about this and you find a beautiful place for you and Claire --

Shawn D.: I am not gonna forget about it, okay? I want you to have a nice place -- a place that's not the "Y." We're gonna look for a place together for the both of us and Claire.

Willow: Are you sure? I didn't just guilt you into this?

Shawn D.: No, it's what I want to do. I think it'll be great.

Willow: Thank you! Thank you so much. You're not gonna regret this.

Bonnie: Where are you going?

Mimi: To work. I'm late.

Bonnie: Back to the garage at this hour?

Mimi: No, my second job. Unlike Patrick, I have to work for a living. [Telephone rings]

Bonnie: [Speaking indistinctly] Hello? Oh, Lauren, hello. How's our little mother doing? You know, I was just thinking about you. What do you mean there's a problem? Don't tell me there's something wrong with the baby.

Steve: Thanks, Hope. Hey, I really appreciate this.

Hope: You don't have to thank me. Actually, Bo and I really -- really enjoyed reliving our memories, our adventures.

Steve: Man, this is great stuff. You got a lot of detail in here, didn't you?

Hope: Believe it or not, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Hey, I tell you what -- I'll keep writing things down as they come to me, and who knows? Maybe something will jog your memory. It might just take one thing -- the right thing, the right moment, just like with Stephanie the other day. Steve, you remembered she was your daughter.

Steve: Yeah. But I still didn't remember Kayla. I'll never forget the pain in her eyes when I told her I didn't remember her. I don't know if I ever will, Hope, but I do know that I can't walk out on the mother of my child if there's even a chance I can do something to save her.

Willow: Oh, well, look who decided to stroll in. Glad you could make it.

Mimi: Not that it's any of your business, but I happen to have another job.

Willow: Yeah, Shawn told me. You're working at Max's garage, like that's not desperate.

Mimi: What?

Willow: Well, you'll obviously do anything to get Shawn back, but he doesn't need Max anymore. He's out of there.

Mimi: So I've heard. And for your information, I'm working at the garage because I need the money and Max happened to have an opening. And as for desperate, at least I would never resort to selling my body.

Willow: Good thing 'cause you'd probably starve.

Mimi: Yeah, and it's worked out so well for you, Willow.

Willow: Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was living on the streets, and now I'm getting out of the "y," moving on up.

Mimi: Okay, I'll bite. Where are you going, Willow? Hopefully somewhere far away.

Willow: Sorry, I'll still be here in Salem, living with your soon-to-be ex-husband. Shawn and I are getting a place together.

Shawn D.: Got some good news. E.J. gave me a bonus, so I can start paying you back for the boat now.

Bo: Hey, Shawn --

Shawn D.: Hey, it's my fault you lost her, Dad. I know how much the Fancy Face means to you. It's the least I can do.

Bo: You're being responsible, and I'm proud of you, but I think you should concentrate on taking care of your daughter.

Shawn D.: With the amount of money I'm gonna be making, I can take care of all my responsibilities, no problem.

Bo: How much is wells paying you to work on cars?

Bonnie: Oh, thank God. You about gave me a heart attack. I thought something happened to the baby. What do you mean it still could? You know what? Just stay there. I'm on my way.

Billie: Hey.

Hope: Hi. You're back.

Billie: Yeah.

Hope: Did you see Steve?

Billie: Yeah, I did. I did. He's pretty tired, but that's to be expected with everything he's going through.

Hope: Well, of course. He's got an awful lot on his mind.

Billie: Yeah.

Hope: So, did you like it?

Billie: Like what?

Hope: The necklace.

Billie: I'm sorry. I don't know what you're talking about. He didn't give me a necklace.

Hope: I'm sorry. I just naturally assumed since you'd seen him --

Billie: Steve got me a necklace?

Hope: Well, he had me -- yeah. Yeah, he did. He wanted you to have something special. I'm sorry if I ruined the surprise.

Billie: No, no, no, no, no, don't worry about it. I promise I won't tell him that you told me. I'm just -- I'm thrilled that he thought of me.

Bo: It seems like Wells is paying you a hell of a lot to be a mechanic. I mean, there's got to be more to this than meets the eye.

Shawn D.: What can I say? He knows that I'm really good at what I do. He wants to keep me around. He offered me an incentive.

Bo: Yeah, right. You know what? I'll make you a deal. I find out anything about this character, I'll let you know. You see or hear anything suspicious at all, you let me know. Sound fair?

Shawn D.: Yeah, whatever. I got to go.

Bo: Hold on. Couple more things. Number one -- you hang on to your money.. You are one lucky dog. The insurance company -- they're taking care of the Fancy Face. And number two -- Victor asked me to give this to you. He didn't know where you were staying.

Shawn D.: I already told him. I don't want anything from him.

Bo: Shawn, he's your grandfather. He's trying to make up for what happened. Just take a look, see what it is before you make up your mind.

Shawn D.: I'll look at it later.

Bo: All right.

Shawn D.: I got to go.

Bo: Okay. Good talking with you.

Mimi: You're lying. There's no way in hell Shawn would ever get an apartment with you.

Willow: Believe whatever you want, but it's true. He's got a totally killer job with E.J. Wells, and he wants a nice place for us to live, where Claire can come visit on the weekends.

Mimi: Claire? Are you kidding me? I highly doubt that Belle will want her child spending any time with someone so morally lacking, to put it kindly.

Willow: Like you should talk about morals. Didn't you lie to your own husband for months to keep him from finding out about his kid? That is way worse than anything I've ever done. I never purposely hurt anyone I care about. That includes Shawn.

Patrick: Hope you like roast beef.

Hope: I love it. Mmm. I didn't realize how hungry I was until I just saw it. This looks great. Thank you.

Patrick: You're welcome. You know, I want to take care of you, especially since you haven't been doing such a good job of it yourself lately.

Hope: I'm doing the best I can in the middle of a family crisis.

Patrick: I know you are, but you have to realize that's not your family anymore, and we have a baby to think about here.

Hope: I think about the baby every minute. And as far as the Brady’s no longer being my family, I think of them that way. I always will. That I can't help, Patrick.

Patrick: You know, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply that you should stop caring about what happens to them any more than you can stop caring about what happens Bo to. I did interrupt something tonight at the pub, didn't I?

Hope: No, just reminiscing about old times with Steve and Kayla, that's all. I mean, I don't know. It kind of made me sentimental.

Patrick: Sure there's not something you want to tell me?

Hope: Hmm? No, nothing to tell you.

Patrick: Okay, well, we're still going away, right?

Hope: Going away?

Patrick: Yeah, Chicago, remember? We were gonna get away from Salem, just the two of us, spend some time together. You haven't changed your mind, have you?

Mimi: Let me tell you something about Shawn, Willow. In case you don't already know, his heart belongs to one woman -- Belle bBlack. And it was knowing that deep down that drove me to do what I did, not that, that excuses it. It doesn’t. I'm just telling you how it is. Whatever power you have over Shawn right now won't last, especially not once he's back in Claire's life because then he'll be back in Belle's life, too. And at that point, it will only be a matter of time before they're back together.

Willow: Well, we'll see about that.

Mimi: Yeah, we will. And you know, Shawn might be enjoying the nightly acrobatics you've been treating him to, but he's way too smart to let you come between him and his daughter. And he's too in love with Belle to give a damn in the end what happens to you. Eventually he'll toss you out on the curb, just like everyone else has.

Steve: Oh, sweetness. You were right. It happened. In the middle of all this craziness, I got my memory back. [Chuckles] Everything. Yeah. How we met, how we fell in love, how you saved my life in more ways than one. You know, Stephanie was right. She said that when I remembered you... I'd remember how much I needed you. And I do. That's why you got to get well. You got to come back to me. You hear me, baby? You hear me? I'm waiting.

Mimi: Shawn! Hey. Willow and I were just talking about you. She's so excited about you guys getting a place together. I'm sure Belle will be thrilled, too.

Shawn D.: Stay out of it, Mimi, okay? Nothing's definite yet.

Willow: Hi, baby. What a surprise. What are you doing here?

Shawn D.: Hey, I just wanted to stop by and see if you needed a ride home from work after your shift.

Willow: Thank you. That is so sweet. I would love a ride home. Thank you..

Shawn D.: You're welcome.

Willow: What's this?

Shawn D.: Oh, I almost forgot. My dad gave that to me. He said it's from my grandfather.

Willow: Well, aren't you gonna open it?

Shawn D.: I wasn't planning on it.

Willow: Maybe it's something good. You should at least check it out.

Shawn D.: What the hell. Oh, my God.

Willow: What is it?

Shawn D.: It's a check for $10,000.

Bonnie: Lauren! Hi. Oh, baby. Pregnancy agrees with you. God, you're gorgeous.

Lauren: I'm fat, and I'm miserable.

Bonnie: Well, just think about the wonderful thing that you're doing. Not only are you giving this little angel the gift of life. You are giving it the best possible home it could ever hope for -- its loving grandmama.

Lauren: I'm doing it for the money.

Bonnie: Well, don't think I don't appreciate that. Nothing like a little cold, hard cash to make the giving that much more rewarding.

Lauren: Well, I'm glad you feel that way, Bonnie, because I want more -- a lot more.

Bonnie: Why? You already made a bundle off the surrogacy contract, not to mention the big, fat check you got from me from our little side deal.

Lauren: Well, due to [Clears throat] unforeseen complications, I've been forced to quit my job.

Bonnie: What complications?

Lauren: Uh, cankles. Yeah, my job requires me to stand all day, and I can’t. Therefore, I'm gonna require you to support me fully for the duration of this pregnancy in a style to which I am very much looking forward to becoming accustomed.

Steve: You know, now that I got my memory back, I realize how hard that must have been on you. But that's gonna be all over now, baby, because when you wake up and you walk out of here, I'm gonna make up for all the lost time. It's gonna be just like the old days. Okay? Hey, you remember when you gave me that pool cue? [Laughs] Listen to that. I'm asking you if you remember. What's up with that? Yeah, but the pool cue -- that was the first time anyone ever gave me anything for no reason. It wasn't even my birthday. It showed me that you accepted me for who I really was. That never happened before, not with anyone. Yeah, but that was a hell of a pool cue, man. I won a lot of money with that stick. Oh -- oh, but the best was when we played for 10 kisses. Do you remember that? Remember how everyone cheered when you lost [Laughs] And how I just happened to lose count when collecting my winnings? And you said it was the best game you ever lost. I said it was the best game I ever won. Sweetness, there's a lot more kisses where those came from. All you have to do is wake up. You hear me? Come and get those kisses. Come on.

Hope: Yes, I told you I will. I'll go to Chicago with you, okay?

Patrick: Good, I think it's just what you need. It's what we both need, you know -- just a little time to rest, relax. So, when do you want to go?

Hope: I don't know. You need an answer now?

Patrick: Well, yeah. Hope, I just feel like if we don't do it now, we may never get the chance. With the baby coming, the timing may be off. Look, it's just a couple of days. I think I deserve that much. Hope, come on. Stop putting me off.

Hope: All right. All right, we'll go as soon as possible, but... I don't want bo to know.

[Knock on door]

Bo: No way.

Billie: Hi.

Bo: Billie.

Billie: Can I come in?

Bo: Yeah, is there something wrong? Steve and Kay okay?

Billie: Steve's fine. Kayla's condition hasn't changed, but the one thing I was afraid of that could happen happened.

Bo: What are you talking about?

Billie: He remembered her. He remembered Kayla. I heard him tell her. He remembered how much he loved her. He remembered their life together. He called her sweetness and told her that he needed her.

Bo: So it worked.

Billie: What worked?

Bo: Steve asked us to tell him some things that might trigger his memory.. Sorry.

Billie: No. You warned me this was gonna happen. I didn't listen.

Bo: Hey --

Billie: Okay.

Bo: Sorry.

Billie: I'm okay.

Willow: Do you have any idea what this means? This means we can get an even better place to live, maybe a house.

Shawn D.: It's not that much money, Willow. Besides, I'm not keeping it.

Willow: Not keeping it? Why not?

Shawn D.: Because my grandfather thinks he can just buy anyone off for a price, make any problem go away. But not this time. No check is gonna make up for the fact that he knew that Claire was mine from almost day one. Nothing in the world will ever make that go away.

Bonnie: Lauren, come on. Let's get real here. You've got a bun in the oven. You're gonna have swollen ankles. Hell, you're gonna have swollen everything. So why don't we just talk to your employer and work out some kind of arrangement?

Lauren: The only arrangement I'm interested in is ours. You either cough up the dough so I can get off my feet or you can say goodbye to your grandchild. It's that simple..

Bonnie: Will this do?

Lauren: That's a start.

Patrick: Hope, why do you care if Bo finds out? You said yourself he's going to have to deal with the fact that we are having a baby, that we are going to be spending time together.

Hope: I know that, and that's true. But he's dealing with so much right now. I don't want to upset him any more than he already is. So, that's my one stipulation, okay? You have to promise me that this little trip stays just between us -- no one else.

Patrick: Fine. If that's what you want, that's what you get. You have my word.

Hope: Thank you.

Patrick: All right. So, how soon before you think we can go away?

Hope: Oh, my God, Patrick. We'll go as soon as I know that Kayla's okay. I'm not going anywhere while I know she's fighting for her life. That's just --

Patrick: You know what? You're right. I'm sorry. I just -- I got excited.. Look, in the meantime, I'll make arrangements. I want to make sure everything's perfect -- only the best.

Hope: Well, don't go crazy. I don't want you spending all your money on me, okay?

Patrick: Don't worry. I've got plenty of cash stashed away, and I can't think of a better thing to spend it on. What the hell?

Hope: What's wrong?

Patrick: I don't know. My cash -- it's gone.

Billie: You know, I knew this could happen. I just -- I just didn't think it was gonna happen so soon, you know? We were getting so close, getting closer. He just told me that he cared about me.

Bo: Sorry. Hey, if it's any consolation, I just got blown off, too. I mean, Hope and I are talking about those memories. I thought -- guess who walks in. She's probably over at his place now.

Billie: You know, I thought you guys could work this out.

Bo: [Exhales sharply] I thought so, too, but maybe I've just been kidding myself.

Billie: Oh, come on. I am the one who wrecked your marriage. This is my fault. I'm surprised you're still even talking to me. You should hate me.

Bo: No, come on. I don't hate you.

Billie: I hate me.

Bo: Stop it. Don't say things like that.

Steve: And then there was Australia. Man, we had to go halfway around the world to rescue our baby girl from that... looney tune Sheila. Yeah. Well, but we did it. We broke you out of jail, hooked up with Bo and Hope, and we did it. You know, Kayla, nothing could keep you away from your family. Don't give up on us now, now that we've got so much to look forward to. You know, I'm thinking of that song that you love so much. Yeah. If I had my harp here, I'd play it for you. I don't know. I'm not much of a voice, but I guess it goes something like this. [Humming to the tune of "the rose"] How's that go? [Continues humming] That drowns.... [Continues humming] Just...remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows lies the seed that with the sun's love in the spring becomes the rose Kayla?

Nick: Dune, get ready for the Fallonator! Come on! Let's get jiggy with it!

Kayla: I can't get through this without you.

Patrick: I want you to trust that I will be there for you and the baby, no matter what.

Bo: Kind of come full circle. Become friends again after all these years..
