Max: Hey, Abby, did you see the invoice for those special parts I ordered? They're supposed to be here by today. Hey. What's wrong?
Abby: My parents have been missing for 24 hours.
Abby: When I went home last night, they weren't there, but I went to bed early. And Frankie had to go to the police station with Chelsea after she got arrested, so he didn't get home until late. And since he sleeps across the hall in the guest room, neither one of us realized that they never came home until this morning. And nobody's seen them since.
Max: I wonder... no, Frankie and Jen are married.
Abby: Not really.
Max: Yeah, but still, Jen wouldn't just --
Abby: No, she wouldn’t. Look, that's why I'm scared that something might have happened to them.
Max: Oh, come here.
Jack: Do you really, uh...do you really think this cave looks like the....like the -- like -- you know, like the one that we --
Jennifer: When we first made love. Why all the word clutter? Is it so hard to say?
Jack: No, no, no, no. It's just that you've seen one cave, you've seen them all.
Jennifer: We've been in a lot of caves together, have we?
Jack: We've been in, uh... one.
Jennifer: Okay, this cave doesn't remind you of any other cave that we have ever been in, Jack?
Jack: That was a long time ago, Jennifer. A lot's changed since then. Hasn't it?
Kate: Roman, Bo runs out of here with a search warrant? It has to do with Eve Michaels, doesn't it?
Roman: Kate, I told you. That information is not for public consumption at this time.
E.J.: Let's pick our battles, shall we? This is a police investigation. Technically, they don't need to give us anything.
Kate: The hell they don’t. I was linked to Eve Michaels because of some silly mix-up with an evidence disc, and now she ends up murdered? No. Bo has a lead on who he thinks the killer is, and I'm gonna stay here until he brings this person into custody, and then I'm not going to leave until I'm completely vindicated.
E.J.: Very well. I'll stay with you. I'd actually like to know who Bo's arrested myself.
Abe: Why are you so interested in this?
E.J.: As I already explained to your municipal counterpart, it's because of Kate's association with the deceased. Now, you say you have some new evidence breaking. I'm assuming that's gonna exonerate Kate. See, we have a business together.
Tek: Mythic Communications -- is that the company you and Kate formed?
E.J.: That's the one.
Abe: With a name like "Mythic," we're supposed to be confident that your information is accurate.
Kate: "Mythic" as in "legendary," not "fictitious," Abe.
Abe: Well, we're hoping you'll be around long enough to be legendary.
Kate: [Laughs] This man has absolutely no imagination.
Roman: When it comes to reporting the news, facts are more important than imagination.
Kate: Imagination brings in the viewers, Roman. Believe me, we'll provide the facts, as well.
Abe: And what about you, Lexie? What's your reason for hanging around here?
Patrick: You still haven't answered my question. What are you doing in my house?
Bo: Following up on a lead. I'm sure you've seen plenty of these in your time. It's called a search warrant.
Hope: This is insane.
Patrick: I didn't kill Eve Michaels. I've never met her.
Hope: What kind of game is this, Brady?
Bo: It's not a game. I found these in your closet. They match exactly a set of prints we found in a flower bed at the churchyard where Eve Michaels was murdered. This little beauty -- I'd say that's the murder weapon.
Patrick: Hope, I've never seen this stuff.
Bo: "Never seen this stuff." "Never met Eve Michaels." Why were the shoes in your closet and the gun in your gun safe -- evidence that ties you directly to the murder? Hope, here's your proof. This creep -- he's the one you never should have trusted.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.
Jennifer: Abby's all grown up. It's hard to believe, Jack, that's she is almost the age that I was when I started working for you.
Jack: Could we please not go there? Please.
Jennifer: Okay. Gosh, where did that time go, Jack?
Jack: Wasted. Wasted...by me.
Jennifer: No, not by you, Jack. When we came back to Salem and we wanted to start our life together again, I was so scared, Jack.
Jack: That it would turn out the way it did.
Jennifer: No. No, and I want to be very clear with you right now. I have loved being married to you, and the only time I didn't love it is when we weren't together.
Jack: I don't know how you'll feel tomorrow. It's a lot of togetherness in the last 24 hours.
Jennifer: Jack, I'm serious. I mean it.
Jack: Well, it was never boring. You can say that.
Jennifer: No, it was never boring. Our life has been one adventure after another.
Jack: I'm just hoping it doesn't end with buckshot in my backside courtesy of Enid.
Jennifer: No, I don't think that's gonna happen. I think she got her double-barrel, and she's going hunting for aliens with her telephone.
Jack: And her cow, Jessie. "Jessie! Eh?" [Both laugh]
Jennifer: What do you think? Where do you think this next adventure will take us, Jack?
Jack: I think it's gonna take me out into the wilderness to get some supper 'cause I'm starving.
Jennifer: Well, then, I'm starving, too, and we need to stick together, Jack. Wait!
Jack: Look, Jennifer, uh, we don't want to get separated from our shelter, right? So you stay and me hunt -- or forage or whatever the case may be.
Jennifer: I want you to forage because I don't want to cook and clean a rodent if you bring one of those back. I don't want to do that.
Jack: I bet stuffed groundhog's looking pretty good about now, isn't it?
Jennifer: Jack, please, just don't go far away.
Jack: I'll just leave a little trail of pebbles. I'll be back soon.
Jennifer: Okay. All right. You better be!
Lexie: Abe, I'm here to see you, remember? We were supposed to have dinner again tonight.
Abe: Oh, yeah. I'm sorry. I got so wrapped up in everything that's going on. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Lexie: It's okay. It's just your tone. You sounded so suspicious.
Tek: Yeah, really. I mean, for someone who's trying to make his marriage work, wow.
Kate: That's news to me. I can't imagine that Abe's even thinking of getting back with you after the way you treated him.
Lexie: Excuse me? Kate, who the hell are you to judge how I treat someone? Especially considering all the things we know that you've done. Not to mention the things we don't even know about.
E.J.: I think we've all done a few things in our lives that we've lived to regret.
Roman: You're including yourself in that, right, E.J.?
E.J.: Of course I am.
Roman: So, what have you done?
Patrick: This is B.S., Bo. I've never seen those things before, and I didn't put them in my closet. Do you think I'm that stupid? If I were the murderer, don't you think I'd find a better place to hide evidence?
Bo: Who put it there, then? Your mother? Billie? Maybe Chelsea, huh?
Patrick: I'd imagine Chelsea didn't murder Eve Michaels then make her getaway wearing a pair of size-11 Italian shoes.
Bo: Forensics will give us the answers we need, and it's pretty clear what those answers will be. In the meantime, I've got plenty of proof to hold you. You are going to jail. Patrick Lockhart, you have the right to remain silent. If you give up the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak with an attorney...
E.J.: Well, let's see. There was -- that's probably not appropriate. I mean, okay, for example, there was a time when I was in London. I'd had a couple of drinks with some friends. I probably mean "a couple" in the Dudley Moore sense of the word. Anyway, this double-decker bus pulls up, and it's full of all these tourists, and the next thing I know, the driver is running down the street being sick, and so, you know, visitors in my town, I feel a certain civic responsibility, which, in retrospect, may have been somewhat folly. Anyway, I get behind the wheel of the bus and decide to continue to the tour for these people. So we go to Big Ben. That worked out very well. Piccadilly Circus -- not so much. A little confusion amongst some of the guests as to where the animals where, but that went pretty well. Then we get to Buckingham Palace, and, in retrospect, this was probably fairly stupid, but I thought it would be a very good idea to run out of the bus and knock the busby off the top of one of the soldiers. Unfortunately, the soldier didn't find it particularly funny, so to speak.
Lexie: And -- don't tell me -- you got away with it.
E.J.: I got away with it? Not exactly. No. Unfortunately, the solider was not the only one who didn't find it funny. The police also were not particularly tickled by it, so they arrested me. Fortunately for me, the arresting officer was a bit of an E.J. Wells fan, so I got a slap on the wallet, slap on the wrist, and was sent on my way.
Abe: Very interesting.
Tek: To say the least.
Roman: Well, that's a good story, E.J. I'm sure it's not the only one.
E.J.: Well, maybe, but I certainly wouldn't want to waste any more of the police department's time.
Patrick: Get your hands off me!
Bo: Shut up and get in here.
Kate: Oh, my God. I don't believe it.
Abe: Did you find everything you needed?
Bo: [Chuckles] Yeah.
Kate: Patrick killed Eve?
Patrick: I did not kill Eve. I didn't kill anyone.
Bo: Take the evidence down to forensics. Don't take your eyes off it till they sign for it.
Cop: Yes, sir.
Hope: You're not gonna find Patrick's prints on any of those things.
Bo: We'll see. Come on.
Abe: Let's go.
Bo: I've always known you were no good. Now everyone else is gonna know it, too.
Abby: Max, I don't want to hurt your feelings. And I know that Frankie's your brother and all, but I just wish that he never came back to Salem. His being here has made everything so complicated.
Max: Yeah, but if he hadn't come home, your dad might not even have a chance right now.
Abby: I know that Frankie did a really selfless thing for my dad, getting him into that drug trial and all, but it might not even work. He could still be dying. At least my mom and dad could have spent these last few months together being a family. Now I don't even know if we're gonna be one.
Jennifer: Oh, you're back!
Jack: I told you I would be.
Jennifer: Good. I got our fire pit all ready to go.
Jack: Good, 'cause I got fuel and food that does not require any cooking..
Jennifer: [Gasps] Oh, good, 'cause now that we're out of danger, I'm starving. What do you have?
Jack: I've got a couple of roots and berries, berries, and more berries.
Jennifer: Whoo! Wow.
Jack: So you work on that, 'cause I know you're the girl scout and you can tell me which is edible and which is not, and I can start building this fire.
Jennifer: Oh, Jack, I got these from Enid's. I forgot to tell you.
Jack: No, listen. I got two pieces of flint, and I'm gonna start this fire just the way I always wanted to. Now, watch, watch, watch. There it goes. Again. I'll get it. I'm right -- I'm right -- ow! No, that was just me.
Jennifer: Well, in case -- here. In case you want to use these, I got them at Enid's place. In case.
Jack: [Sighs] Always plan ahead.
Jennifer: Well, I know that you would like to do it caveman style.
Jack: Caveman style. [Grunting] That's actually not a bad idea.
Jennifer: That is not what I meant, Jack. Honestly, make the fire.
Jack: I'm making the fire. Ah. I'll put it right down here next to the flint.
Jennifer: Whatever you got to do. [Gasps] You did it! You did it, Jack!
Jack: I did it. [Laughs]
Jennifer: Whoo! [Laughs] Looks good.
Jack: I did it with the flint, too. Actually, I was thinking. If we had to be kidnapped and lost in the woods, we picked the right time of year to do it.
Jennifer: Well, yes. This time we did.
Jack: Actually, I have fond memories of being on that train to nowhere in the dead of winter, don't you?
Jennifer: Yeah. Yeah, actually, I do, Jack.
Jack: [Sighs] Quit making so much noise. Please. I'm thinking.
Jack: I said, "I'm thinking!"
Jack: I'm thinking! I'm ... how did you do that?
Jennifer: I just gave it a little tug on the thing. See?
Jack: Well, that's exactly what I was gonna do. I just -- just like this.. Aah! Thank you.
Jennifer: [Laughs] [Brakes squeal]
Jack: Oy. [Train whistle blares]
Jack: It's all right. Actually, you're being a pretty good sport about all this.
Jennifer: Right. Well, I mean, it's not so bad.
Jack: No, I'm talking about working in such close proximity after, uh... well, you know.
Jennifer: Yeah. Well, it's a little hard now, but I'm just hoping to get to the point where it won't be so hard anymore.
Jack: [Chuckles] You know, you'd think we would have developed more survival skills by now.
Jennifer: Are you kidding me? We've got fire. We've got food. I think we're doing all right, Jack.
Jack: All right. So dig in.
Jennifer: Okay, well, since you proclaimed me the berry expert, does that mean you want me to do the tasting to see if I'm wrong?
Jack: It means you said you were hungry, starving, so dig in. And...look, the fact is, we don't know how long we're gonna be here, and you have the best chance of survival, so --
Jennifer: Don't you dare talk like that. Someone is going to find us, and we are both going to survive this, Jack.
Jack: Jennifer, even if we do get through this, there's no guarantee I'm gonna be around much longer.
Jennifer: What if Dr. Berman is at the hospital right now with the results of your tests saying you are in remission? I already told you. I have a good feeling about this, Jack.
Jack: You have a good feeling. I'm glad. I appreciate that. I really do. But what if your good feeling does not reflect the reality of the truth of my situation?
Jennifer: Well, that is why we have hope, Jack, okay? And we are gonna hope for the best. And you're gonna eat these berries because they are filled with antioxidants, okay? Here. Come on. Please, eat more. They're good for you. The antioxidants are really good. Keep going.
Jack: Okay, this is great. This is about the best meal I ever foraged.
Jennifer: Well, have some more.
Hope: Anyway, well, I assumed that, that would be the end of it -- once I explained to Judge Fitzpatrick there weren't any children involved, she'd grant the divorce. Oh, Kate, there was a surprise at the courthouse. Billie showed up asking to speak on Bo's behalf..
Kate: [Chuckles] Really? What did she say?
Hope: That she was working with Chelsea to keep Bo and me apart. That he was never unfaithful to me, Kate, and that he loved me, only me.
Kate: Really? That's probably the reason he never bothered to show up at the courthouse, right?
Lexie: Kate, maybe he didn't show up because he doesn't want the divorce to go forward.
Kate: But it did, right?
Hope: What? No, actually, it didn’t.
Kate: Because of what Billie said?
Hope: No, she ordered a continuance. Some new information came in. She had to leave. I don't know what it was about.
Lexie: Information from Bo about the Eve Michaels murder case.
Hope: Eve Michaels? I don't know. When Patrick and I showed up at his house, Bo was waiting to arrest him.
Kate: You know, I know that Patrick has been on the other side of the law before, but I can't imagine what kind of motivation he would ever have to kill Eve Michaels.
Hope: I don't know. He swears he's innocent.
Lexie: And you believe him?
Bo: We checked the other shoes in the closet. They're all size 11.
Patrick: That's really damning evidence, Bo.
Bo: Unless you have a plausible explanation of how that stuff wound up in your closet --
Patrick: No, but maybe you do.
Bo: [Chuckles] He's implying that I set him up, that I planted that evidence.
Patrick: You said it. I didn’t. You know what? I'm not gonna say another word until my attorney's present.
Bo: Yeah. Good idea. You're the one that set me up, but you didn't succeed, now, did you? You will get the death penalty. I'll see to it myself!
Max: Abby, look, nobody can predict the future. I mean, look at how hard your dad has fought to save his life. He's overcome incredible odds. You think he's gonna give up?
Abby: No, but where are they right now, and why haven't they called someone?
Max: Maybe they have. If they're in any kind of trouble, Jack would do everything he can to protect Jennifer.
Frankie: Max is right. There is no way your dad will let anything happen to your mom.
Frankie: Hey. I thought you'd be here, so I just wanted to stop by and see how you were holding up.
Abby: Not too good. Excuse me.
Max: How you holding up, man?
Jennifer: Jack, what's wrong? Oh, my gosh, Jack. Are you okay? Are you choking? Jack! Oh, my gosh! Jack, wait, wait, wait. Hold still. Hold still. Oh, gosh. Jack, are you okay? Did I get it? Wait, wait, wait. Ready? Go. Wait, 1, 2, 3.
Jennifer: Oh, my gosh. Look at me. Look at me. Are you okay? Are you okay?
Jack: I think I must have foraged one of those choke berries. [Laughs weakly]
Jennifer: That is not funny. I am so glad you were just choking.
Jack: You were glad I was choking?
Jennifer: Yes, because I thought you were having some kind of relapse or something.
Jack: [Breathing heavily] Right. Well, I guess you just saved my life again. That was too close for comfort, wasn't it? Now that I've thought about it, I think I'm gonna say, "enough of the berries." And I think I'm gonna go bed down. I'm gonna conserve my strength for tomorrow. We're gonna get up, and we're gonna find our way out of here and get home.
Roman: Bo, back off!
Abe: Don't let your personal feelings jeopardize this case!
Roman: Get outside this office and calm down.
Kate: Bo, did Patrick confess?
Bo: When there's news, you'll hear it in the department's press conference along with everyone else.
Kate: I take that as a "no."
Bo: This is not a coffee shop. It's a police station. Would you please go?
E.J.: Well, as much as I hate to give Detective Brady the satisfaction, we do need to go. We have to call in this story to our news editor. Come on.
Lexie: Listen, Bo, would you tell Abe I have my cellphone with me so to call me when he's ready to go out to dinner?
Hope: Thought we'd be divorced by now.
Bo: Yeah, I know. I know it's got to be difficult to find out that the father of your child is a murderer.
Hope: Don't even go there. Nothing has been proven yet.
Bo: He's gonna try to convince you that I set him up, but you don't believe I'd do something like that, do you? Officer Kasaras was with me the whole time. I followed the law to the letter. I would never set up an innocent person to take a murder rap, no matter what's at stake. You do know that much about me, don't you?
Hope: My mind is spinning right now. I don't know what to think, who to believe.
Bo: Jack and Jen are the ones that tipped me off to Lockhart.
Hope: What do they have to do with this?
Bo: They were investigating Eve Michaels' murder for the Spectator.
Hope: Are you telling me that Jennifer's with him?
Bo: Yeah, she is. And you know Jack. Once he gets a lead on something, off he goes. Apparently, he was following the ownership of the gun that killed Michaels, and that led him to the killer.
Bo: Yeah. Now, Jen was one of his staunchest supporters, but now not so much, so maybe if she believes he's guilty, you'll believe he's guilty, too?
Hope: I want to talk to Jennifer.
Bo: Easier said than done.
Jack: For you.
Jennifer: Oh, no. You need your coat, Jack. You're gonna be cold.
Jack: You're the one who always gets cold, so, please, go ahead. I'll just lie down over here in sight of the fire, such as it is.
Jennifer: Okay. Thanks.
Jack: Don't mention it. [Sighs]
Jennifer: Wow. It just seems kind of early to be going to sleep.
Jack: What, uh... what else are we gonna do?
Jennifer: Um, I suppose we would both just fall asleep. We're so tired.
Jack: Right. We're so tired. So tired. I'll just pull up a rock. [Both laugh] Well, good night, Miss Horton.
Jennifer: Good night, Jack Deveraux.
Kate: You know, it really is a wonderful thing, owning a television station. You can call in with breaking news, and voilà. It's on the air.
E.J.: Especially with all the recent "allegedlies."
Kate: I don't think we are going to need those "allegedlies" very much longer because I have figured out why Patrick would want Eve dead.
Kate: Bo... Bo needs Chelsea's evidence disc to prove to Hope that he didn't steal it, right?
E.J.: Mm-hmm. That's correct.
Kate: Correct. So if he does produce the disc, there's a very good chance that Hope will take him back.
E.J.: So you think that Patrick paid Eve for the disc and then killed her to keep her mouth shut.
Patrick: Yeah, I like it, but...
Kate: [Laughs] "But"? But what?
E.J.: You know, I can't help but think that we've missed something.
Abe: Well, your attorney's on her way over.
Patrick: Thanks. What about my phone call?
Roman: That was it.
Abe: I made it for you. It's well within the bounds of the law. In fact, it's part of the police academy curriculum next week, but I guess you're not gonna make it that far..
Tek: I let you do some work on the case, and you're the one we're looking for all along?
Patrick: Tek --
Tek: Shut up! You're smooth, Lockhart, but even the smoothest ones trip themselves up, and you're headed for a big fall.
Bo: All I know is they're out in the middle of nowhere. They were ambushed by some thug.
Hope: How were they able to call you?
Bo: I don't know about that, and our call wasn't a very good connection, so I lost them before I had a chance to find out where they were.
Hope: Do you know if they're safe, if they escaped?
Bo: They sounded like they were just fine. Listen, I've got troopers and rescue workers out looking for them right now. I'm sure they'll find them soon. [Telephone rings] Excuse me. Yeah. Brady. Yeah, okay, what do you got? No, no, no. That's... that's fine. That's all I need. Bring it up. That was forensics. They have a preliminary fingerprint report on one of the items I found at Lockhart's place. They're bringing it up. We should have some answers very soon.
Frankie: I'm just really frustrated because there's nothing more I can do, you know? Look, I hate to admit this, but I should have blew off your press conference and stayed with Jennifer.
Max: Well, look what you would have missed. My girlfriend getting hauled off to jail for tampering with a DNA report to show that Claire was Shawn's baby. Yay.
Frankie: Okay, I'm sorry. I didn't stop to think about what you were going through.
Max: Don't worry about me. I'm fine. I just -- I'm done believing in Chelsea. I told her it's over, and I meant it.
Frankie: Okay, it's still got to be tough, right?
Max: Yeah. What's tough is thinking how many times I kept letting her make me look like a fool. Forget about that. Look, what are we doing to find Jack and Jennifer?
Frankie: I don't know. I've notified the police. I've put a couple calls in to some private detectives I know. It's just a waiting game now, you know?
Max: Look, Frankie, I know Jack and Jennifer are gonna come out of this alive, and you're gonna get Jennifer back.
Jennifer: Jack... make love to me. It's time.
Jack: I guess it is.
Jennifer: Couldn't sleep either, huh? Sorry.
Jack: Oh, I just...I just have a lot of my mind, too.
Jennifer: Yeah, I've been thinking about a lot of things.
Jack: Like what?
Jennifer: Just how funny life is, Jack. Everything that we've been through, all the experiences that we've had, and here we are -- practically right where we started. I mean, I guess you could say we've come full circle.
Jack: [Sighs] Lately, it feels like my life is going in circles.
Jennifer: Jack, what if...
Jack: "What if" what?
Jennifer: What if we're here because of fate, Jack?
Jennifer: I... I can't ever get away from loving you, and I don't want to...not ever.
Frankie: Obviously, I hope they come home alive, but even if they're okay, I'm not so sure I'll get Jennifer back.
Max: How can you say that? She loves you.
Frankie: Yeah, but I've... I've been fooling myself. Jack's the only one who will ever truly have her heart.
Abby: Frankie, do you really mean that? [Cellphone rings]
Frankie: Excuse me. Yeah. What? Your parents are alive.
Abby: Oh, my gosh!
Jennifer: Jack, I love you. I love you so much, and I always will.
Jack: I love you...now and forever.
Kate: Oh, I thought you agreed with me about Patrick's guilt. I don't think there's a piece missing. I think it all fits together perfectly.
E.J.: See, that's exactly what's bothering me. It fits together too perfectly. I think there's more to this than meets the eye.
Roman: I'm taking Lockhart down to booking.
Patrick: You don't believe what they're saying about me, do you?
Hope: I don't want to believe it.
Patrick: Look, you have to trust me. Hope, I'm the father of your baby. I would never do anything to hurt either one of you. I'm innocent!
Roman: Come on. Let's go.
Bo: Hey, is that the forensics report?
Cop: Yes, sir.
Bo: Hope, do you want to step in the office with me? Uh, close the door, please. Know what that is?
Hope: The missing disc?
Bo: I didn't want to say anything till I had proof. I didn't want you to have to take anything on faith. I know how badly your faith in me has been shaken... but, yeah... this is the disc I was accused of stealing. It's one of the items we found in Lockhart's place. The disc wasn't put in this cover until after it was entered into evidence, so there's no reason for anyone's fingerprints to be on it unless they handled if after it was taken from the evidence room. According to this report, there was a positive fingerprint match to Patrick Lockhart. So there's your proof. I didn't steal the disc to keep Chelsea out of jail. Lockhart was the one manipulating people, not me.
Bonnie: I know this is wrong, but I'm doing it for my kid.
Shawn D.: There's no easy way to say this, but your brother, Patrick -- he was arrested for the murder of police Officer Eve Michaels.
Bo: I have never stopped loving you.
Hope: And I never stopped loving you.
Jennifer: Jack, if you die on me, I will never forgive you.
