Bonnie: Hey, Lexie?

Lexie: Yeah.

Bonnie: Have you got a minute?

Lexie: I didn't expect to see you here today.

Bonnie: Well, yeah, I signed up for a few extra hours.

Lexie: Oh. Good for you.

Bonnie: Yeah. [Groans] I wanted to talk to you about Shawn if I could. I know he's been released, but is he really gonna be back to 100% in no time at all, like Mimi seemed to think?

Lexie: Yes, we expect him to make a full recovery.

Bonnie: Good, good. 'Cause sometimes, when it comes to medical stuff, Mimi, she gets a little mixed up. Well, don't we all? So, when I saw you standing there, I just figured I'd get the scoop straight from the horses' to speak. Sorry. Listen, I tried to call Mimi earlier to see if they needed anything, and her phone just kept ringing and ringing. So I called the phone company, and they said because of all the heavy rain we've been having, that it kind of screwed up the lines. And the girl has her cellphone turned off.

Lexie: Okay, okay, Bonnie -- Bonnie. Shawn needs peace and quiet and rest, okay?

Bonnie: Okay.

Lexie: Good. Now, when he went home, he was feeling much better, except for a killer headache.

Bonnie: Yeah, well, don't we all know how that feels? You know what I don't understand, though, is why Shawn would go on a bender like that. I mean, it's so not like him.

Lexie: Well, he has had problems with alcohol in the past.

Bonnie: Yeah, but that was when crazy Jan Spears was in town. Don't you think it's this whole situation with the embryo mix-up that made him wig out? I mean, Belle is the only one who's actually crazy enough to actually be happy about it.

Lexie: Bonnie, if you would excuse me, I have to go.

Bonnie: Well, yeah, right. It's your -- well, duty calls for me, too.

Tek: Hey.

Lexie: Hi. Didn't expect to see you back so soon.

Tek: I've been looking into that case we were talking about.

Lexie: The Claire Kiriakis file that suddenly showed up in Shawn's cubicle.

Tek: And the embryo switch and the threatening call you got warning you not to expose Sami's blackmail.

Lexie: Have you found out anything?

Tek: Not yet, but I was struck by what you said -- that there's a Brady connection to all three of these things.

Lexie: You have to admit it's quite a coincidence.

Tek: I didn't think so at first, but you could be onto something. It wouldn't be the first time someone was out to get the Brady’s.

Lexie: Mnh-mnh.

["Bridal chorus" by Richard Wagner plays]

Kate: Oh, I don't want to get my hopes up, but this is beginning to look like another Sami Brady wedding disaster.

Lucas: Will and I talked to Sami just a few minutes ago. She can't wait to walk down that aisle and say "I do." She's not gonna let anything stop her.

Austin: Well, then what is going on back there?

Roman: Sami, there is absolutely no shame in admitting you've made a mistake. If you want to call this wedding off, it's not too late. Sweetheart, look, I hate to pressure you, but there are a lot of people waiting inside.

Sami: I know.

Roman: Well, so, tell me, then, do you know what you want to do?

Sami: Yeah, Dad. I do.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Kayla: I should have known this was gonna happen.

Steve: Why?

Kayla: Well, you know that expression "always a bridesmaid, never a bride"? Well, Sami seems to always be a bride, but never really gets married.

Steve: Why would all these people show up?

Kayla: Well, I'd like to believe it's that hope springs eternal, but I think it's for the same reason that disaster movies have such a big draw.

Kate: Oh. I think I may owe you an apology.

E.J.: Go ahead.

Kate: Well, I was a little bit annoyed with you for not keeping Sami away from the church, as I suggested, but now I'm going to have a front-row seat to her downfall.

Chelsea: I took a whole day off of community service to come to this stupid wedding. It's probably the last day I'm gonna have off for the rest of the summer. I wish that Sami would just make up her mind to call the whole thing off so we could all go home and stop wasting our time.

Roman: All right, so, tell me what you want to do. If you want to call this off and you'd like for me to break the news to everybody...

Sami: Daddy, I'm just nervous, that's all.

Roman: Well, you're entitled. Getting married is one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make in your life.

Sami: Yeah, I know. And I love Austin. And I want to marry him more than anything.

Roman: So, then, you made up your mind. You want to go ahead with the wedding.

Sami: Yeah. Of course I do.

Roman: Well, okay, then. Let's do it.

Frankie: You know, I -- I mean, our wedding didn't go off quite like I planned it, but I thought this one would go off without a hitch.

Jennifer: No, you know what? I think it's going to.

Frankie: Really?

Jennifer: Yeah, I do.

Frankie: Okay.

Lucas: See, I told you.

Austin: Yeah, you did.

Lucas: Yeah, Sami always knew how to keep a guy waiting.

["Bridal chorus" by Richard Wagner plays]

Sami: Hi.

Austin: Everything okay?

Sami: Everything's perfect.

Fr. Jansen: Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the sight of God and in the face of this congregation to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony, which is an ancient and honorable relationship ordained of God in the very nature of our being and designed for the happiness and welfare of mankind. Therefore, it is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, discreetly, and soberly. In this sacred relationship, Samantha and Austin come now to be joined.

Tek: As you pointed out, the Brady’s do have their share of enemies.

Lexie: Yeah, starting with my brother Tony.

Tek: And that's one theory I'm working on.

Lexie: Even though he's in prison? You think Tony still has connections on the outside?

Tek: We know he does. This wouldn't be the first time he's pulled strings from prison. But Tony didn't necessarily do this. Roman and Bo have put so many bad guys behind bars throughout the years, it could be anybody if there's a plot against the Brady’s, which brings me to my immediate concern.

Lexie: What's that?

Tek: Sami Brady's wedding. It's the perfect place for someone with a grudge to make a statement.

Lexie: No, no, I don't think so.

Tek: Why not?

Lexie: Well, because whoever made that phone call to me was protecting Sami. They obviously want to keep Carrie and Austin apart, so they wouldn't do anything to disrupt Sami's wedding.

Tek: Okay, let's say this person wants to make sure the wedding goes off as planned, right? What if that's just to get all the Brady’s together in one place?

Lexie: Oh, my God. Tek, you think something could happen or that everybody in that church could be in danger?

Tek: Look, I already sent plainclothes officers to the church to keep an eye on things, and I'm heading over there right now.

Lexie: Okay, then let me know what happens.

Tek: I will. You know I will.

Lexie: Oh, yeah, thanks.

Tek: All right, take care. Take care.

Lexie: God.

Fr. Jansen: I've always said that one of my happiest duties is performing a marriage, especially between two people I know as well as I know Samantha and Austin. Austin is a man of fine character. He possesses all the qualities one looks for in a life partner. He's patient. He's kind, sincere, and loving. And I have no doubt whatsoever that he will be a good husband. As for Samantha... [Clears throat] [Light laughter] I've known Samantha since she was a child. She has a tender heart, and she feels things very deeply, including -- especially her love for Austin. I have watched her grow from a mischievous, headstrong young girl into a loving and caring mother and a more mature person, generally. I'm sure Samantha would agree with me when I say that the road to this transformation was not without complications, but that never discouraged her. And I am convinced that her love for Austin has made her a much better person. I can see now that she has embraced God's plan for her, and I think that is a true...

Sami: Miracle? [Laughter]

Fr. Jansen: I was going to say blessing, Samantha, because God has indeed blessed you and your family. And now you are about to reap the rewards.

Nurse: Call for Dr. Carver. Dr. Carver, please pick up line one.

Lexie: Dr. Carver.

Tek: Lexie, it's me -- Tek.

Lexie: Oh, you're already at the church?

Tek: Yeah, I just wanted to let you know that the ceremony's begun and my men are in place.

Lexie: But everything's okay?

Tek: So far it's quiet.

Lexie: Well, let's hope it stays that way. Thanks for letting me know.

Tek: Sure.

Lexie: Tek, be careful, okay? I don't want anything to happen to you.

Tek: It's nice to hear that you care about me.

Lexie: Of course I care about you, Tek. Stay safe, okay?

Tek: Will do.

Lexie: Abe, um, that was Tek. He's on a stakeout. I was concerned about him, and I was just telling him to be careful.

Abe: Oh, yeah, I heard.

Lexie: I'm concerned as a friend.

Abe: You know, you can save your breath because I don't give a damn about Tek or how you feel about him.

Lexie: Well, I'd like to explain anyway, if you'd let me do that. I mean, you obviously think that I'm still seeing him, and I'm not.

Abe: Your personal life's none of my business. I moved on. So should you..

Lexie: Okay, I just want to set the record straight.

Abe: I know you just don't want to drop this, so I'm gonna do the same. I don't believe you. You know, but none of that matters. What I'm trying to say is that you're free to cozy up to anybody you want to. It's not like you and I have any ties.

Lexie: Abe, we still share a son.

Abe: But that's all.

Lexie: Well, that should count for a lot.

Abe: With you, it doesn't count for anything. You made that clear with your actions.

Lexie: Okay, well, if you're not here to see me, then what are you doing here?

Abe: Well, you're right. I'm not here to see you. Oh, excuse me. Nurse, I'm Commissioner Abe Carver, Salem Police Department.

Nurse: Yes, sir, how can I help you?

Abe: Well, I'm here looking into an incident that occurred earlier at the hospital. It involves a medical file of an infant, Claire Kiriakis. Would you know anything about that?

Nurse: Not very much. I'm aware that the file for the little girl was missing for a little while, but that's about it.

Abe: Well, then I should speak to the doctor who was on duty at the ER that night.

Lexie: That would be me. So, I guess you're going to have to spend some time with me anyway.

Abe: [Sighs]

Fr. Jansen: Let us pray. Father, you have made the bond of marriage a holy mystery, a symbol of Christ's love for his church. Hear our prayer for Samantha and Austin. With faith in you and in each other, we pledge their love today. May their lives always bear witness to the reality of that love. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who lives and reigns with you and the holy spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

All: Amen.

Marlena: The response is "The Lord is Kind and Merciful."

All: The Lord is kind and merciful.

Marlena: "My soul, give thanks to the Lord, all my being. Bless his holy name. My soul, give thanks to the Lord and never forget all his blessings."

All: The Lord is kind and merciful.

Marlena: "The Lord is compassion and love, slow to anger and rich in mercy. As the father has compassion for his sons, the Lord has pity on those who fear him."

All: The Lord is kind and merciful.

Marlena: "The love of the Lord is everlasting upon those who hold him in fear. His justice reaches out to his children's children when they keep his covenant in truth.."

All: The Lord is kind and merciful.

Will: A reading from the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians. "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful. It is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way. It is not irritable or resentful. It does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never ends." The word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

Will: There's something else I'd like to say. I'm really happy for my mom and Uncle Austin, and that's not from 1 Corinthians. [Laughter] Austin's a great uncle, and I'm really lucky now that he's gonna be my stepfather, too. I guess it's no secret to a lot of you that I'd always wanted my mom and dad to get married. I guess every kid wants his parents together, right? But I've grown up over the last few years, and I see now that even though they love each other, it just wasn't meant to be. My dad's married to Aunt Carrie, and that's cool. I can also see how happy Austin makes my mom. And I think she makes him happy, too. I love my mom so much, and I wouldn't trade her for any other mother in the world. But like Fr. Jansen said, a lot of the time, she hasn't made the best decisions. Mom tried to do the right thing. She really did. But when things didn't go her way, which they usually didn't, you never knew how she was gonna handle it. Actually, I take that back. You did know. She didn't handle it so well. Anyway, this past year, she's worked really hard not to let stuff get to her like that anymore. And a lot of the time, I didn't think she'd ever be able to do it, but standing here today, I can see that she has. She has finally become the person that my dad and I always knew she could be. For someone who's made mistakes, turning your life around isn't easy. And a lot of people don't even try. But mom has done it big-time. Mom... I hope you and Austin have a long and happy marriage. You're the best.

Abe: You have no idea how the patient file wound up in Shawn Brady's cubicle?

Lexie: No, no one does.

Abe: Who was the first person to discover the file was missing?

Lexie: Well, no one even realized it was missing until Belle saw it on a table in Shawn's cubicle.

Abe: Which was when?

Lexie: Right after Shawn regained consciousness. I don't know the exact time.

Abe: Could you check your records and provide that

Lexie: Yeah, yeah, I'll see what I can find out.

Abe: Thank you. Well, I guess this incident doesn't say a whole lot for the hospital security, does it?

Lexie: Files get misplaced, Abe, you know? It's rare, but it happens sometimes, unfortunately.

Abe: As the doctor on duty, did you notice anything unusual about that night?

Lexie: No. And I wasn't the only doctor working that night. Dr. Berman was here also.

Abe: Well, I'll be talking to him, don't worry. So, you have absolutely no idea how Claire's file wound up in Shawn's cubicle?

Lexie: You know, I've been giving that a lot of thought, and I believe that someone wanted Shawn to see that file.

Abe: Meaning that the file wasn't innocently misplaced -- it was deliberately left there?

Lexie: Yeah, yeah. I mean, especially considering the fact that some of the contents of the file have apparently been falsified.

Abe: The DNA results identifying Shawn as Claire's father.

Lexie: Yeah, I checked with the lab, and they claim that the information in the file is legitimate, although Shawn and Belle say that it's physically impossible that Shawn could be the baby's father.

Abe: So someone removed the file from the lab, and while Shawn was unconscious, they slipped into his room without being seen and left the file on the table. Do you have any idea how long the file was there before Belle found it?

Lexie: No.

Abe: All right, could you provide me with a complete list of all the nurses, doctors, hospital personnel on duty that night, as well as the visitors?

Lexie: Well, I mean, doctors and hospital personnel I can do, but visitors -- obviously I wouldn't have a list, you know. But, okay, um... uh, Shawn's parents were here and Belle, Mimi, Philip, Billie Reed, her daughter, Chelsea.

Abe: Do you have the copy of the file in question? Could I see it?

Lexie: Yeah. Yeah, it's right here.

Abe: I, uh... I assume you have copies of the contents.

Lexie: In the file room, yeah.

Abe: Good, then I'd like to take this and have it analyzed for prints.

Lexie: Okay, I'll have to clear it with records, but I'm sure it will be fine.

Abe: Records is on the fourth floor, right?

Lexie: Abe, do you think that maybe you and I --

Abe: Fourth floor.

Lexie: Yeah.

Abe: Uh... thank you. I'll get this back to you as soon as I can. Oh, and speaking of records, can you get me a list of the names of everyone that has access to the area -- anybody that could have taken Claire's file?

Bonnie: What's this about Claire?

Lexie: Bonnie, we're having a private conversation.

Bonnie: About Claire Kiriakis?

Abe: This is a police investigation. Lexie was just answering some questions.

Bonnie: About my daughter's Goddaughter.

Lexie: [Sighs]

Bonnie: Come on. You both know I'm gonna find out what this is about, so you might as well tell me now.

Lexie: Okay, okay. When Shawn was here, Claire's medical file was found in his room.

Bonnie: What?

Lexie: We don't know how it got there, but it had information from the lab indicating that Claire's biological father is Shawn, not Philip.

Fr. Jansen: Samantha and Austin have written personal vows which they would now like to exchange.

Austin: That's me, right? [Clears throat] When I came back to Salem, I never dreamed that we would be together like this. But here we are, about to become man and wife, and I couldn't be happier.

Kate: And I couldn't be unhappier. And soon you're going to be joining me there, Austin.

Austin: We have known each other a long time. And we have been through some tough times together. And I have seen you struggle with hurt and disappointment. But you have never given up. And watching you has inspired me to be a better person. And like Fr. Jansen said, you are a loving mother. And I have seen your determination to be not just a loving mother, but a responsible one -- a mother that Will can count on. And he's seen it, too. And he's as proud of you as I am. I stand here before God, our friends, and our family to say how honored I am that you agreed to be my wife. I love you, Samantha Gene. And I will do my best to respect our differences. I will love and support you. I will be your safe haven and your home. And I hope you will always be as happy as we are today.

Fr. Jansen: Samantha...

Sami: Austin, I... I don't think I can do this.

Kate: My God. I don't think this wedding's going to happen.

Carrie: Sami, are you all right?

Austin: Sami, you don't have to be nervous. You're with people who love you, especially me.

Sami: You're right, Austin. It's just nerves.

Austin: Just take a deep breath. Once you start talking, you'll be fine. You don't have to follow any script. Just say a few words, and we'll move on. In fact, four words would be just fine -- "I love you, Austin."

Sami: Yeah. I want to do this. I want to marry you more than anything. Austin, you believed in me when no one else would. And even when I made dumb mistakes, which I did way too often, you were willing to give me another chance. You are understanding. And you -- you always treat me with respect. Fr. Jansen sort of said it all. You are a really good man. I haven't met a lot of real-life heroes... but you are one of them, just like my dad... and my mom.. I admire you both so much. And of course, we have to talk about Will, too. I'm so proud of the man that you have grown up to be, Will. I know that I haven't always made it easy for you, but you still have faith in me. And I want to make sure that you never regret that. I don't know what I did to deserve you, Austin. But I am so glad to be marrying you today. And I want to make sure that I never disappoint you.

Austin: You don't have to worry about that. It's not gonna happen. Not a chance.

Bonnie: Aah.

Lexie: Oh. Okay, okay, it's all right.

Bonnie: This can't be happening.

Lexie: Just calm down.

Bonnie: Does Mimi know? Oh, my God, my daughter.

Lexie: Yes, yes, she knows. She and Philip were in the room when Belle found the file.

Bonnie: Belle knows, too?

Lexie: Yeah, yes, yes.

Bonnie: Oh, my God. I got to talk to Mimi.

Lexie: No, no, no, wait! Wait, I haven't told you the whole story! Gosh! [Sighs] Well, I guess Shawn and Mimi are going to have to just set her straight, then.

Abe: I tell you, somebody better set somebody straight because this is a hell of a mess.

Lexie: Yeah, well, Bonnie overreacting could make it even messier, you know? I hope she doesn't go over there and get them all worked up. The last thing Shawn needs right now in his condition is extra excitement.

Abe: Yeah, well, I guess I've got all I can get for now. Get me those names, all right?

Lexie: Abe, do you have to go? I mean, there's no rush, is there?

Abe: I have to get back and change.

Lexie: For what?

Abe: Well, if you must know, it's for Austin and Sami's wedding. I couldn't go to the ceremony because I had to work on this, so I'm gonna go to the reception.

Lexie: Oh, God, please be careful.

Abe: Be careful? Why? You think I'm gonna get beaned with the bridal bouquet?

Lexie: No, you know, if it is a Sami Brady wedding, you never know what could happen.

Abe: Yeah, well, I have to admit, I didn't think this would get that far.. You know, I thought Austin would change his mind about marrying her. I was really hoping Austin and Carrie would get another chance. But I guess things just don't work out that way.

Lexie: Sometimes they can.

Abe: Not for us, if that's what you mean. And not for them, either. Lucas and Carrie are married. And in a couple of minutes, Austin and Sami will be, too.

Lexie: [Sighs] I wish there was something I could do to stop that.

Tek: You're all in place, right? Check. Bill, you too? Good. Now, keep your eyes on all the entrances, windows, too. We don't know who we're dealing with or what his M..O. is. All right, and don't disrupt the wedding. Okay, just be prepared for anything and stay alert.

John: What the hell?

Marlena: What?

John: Nothing.

Fr. Jansen: Austin and Samantha, since it's your intention to enter into marriage, please join your right hands and declare your consent before God and his church by repeating after me. I, Austin, take you, Samantha, to be my wife.

Austin: I, Austin, take you, Samantha, to be my wife.

Fr. Jansen: I promise to love you, comfort you, honor, and cherish you....

Austin: I promise to love you, comfort you, honor, and cherish you...

Fr. Jansen: ...In sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity...

Austin: ...In sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity...

Fr. Jansen: ...And, forsaking all others, remain faithful to you for as long as we both shall live.

Austin: ...And, forsaking all others, remain faithful to you for as long as we both shall live.

Fr. Jansen: Samantha, repeat after me. I, Samantha, take you, Austin, to be my husband.

Sami: I, Samantha, take you, Austin, to be my husband.

Fr. Jansen: I promise to love you, comfort you, honor, and cherish you....

Sami: I promise to love you, comfort you, honor, and cherish you...

Fr. Jansen: ...In sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity...

Sami: ...In sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity...

Fr. Jansen: ...And, forsaking all others, remain faithful to you for as long as we both shall live.

Sami: ...And, forsaking all others, remain faithful to you as long as we both shall live.

Fr. Jansen: I now come to that part of the service where I have to ask....if anyone here knows any reason why these two should not be joined in holy matrimony, let them speak now or forever hold their peace.

Kate: Does anyone object to this marriage? How about everyone?

E.J.: Does she usually make it this far?

Kate: No, damn it.

Fr. Jansen: Shall we continue?

Austin: It's okay.

Kate: Oh, no. Please, no.

Fr. Jansen: Very well. Lucas, may I please have the rings?

Lucas: Yes. Yeah, I got them.

John: This is the second time St. Luke's has been targeted during a wedding. Who's behind it?

Tek: I don't know, but we have reason to believe everyone inside could be in danger.

Steve: I'm really tired of making you feel bad.

Kayla: You don't think you're gonna get rid of me that easy, do you?

Chelsea: Maybe Sami realized that she's not the woman my Uncle Austin really loves.

Sami: Where have you been? I've been stalling this whole time waiting for you. I thought you would never come.
