Philip: So you're suggesting we do a DNA test?

Lexie: Yeah. As I said, the lab technicians believe the information found in Claire's file is legit. But, you know, given the suspicious circumstances of how it got here and your understandable skepticism, it would be a quick and easy way to clear this up beyond question. So, what do you say?

Philip: I say a DNA test is completely unnecessary. Shawn and Belle have never been together, so there's no possible way that Shawn could be Claire's father, right, Belle?

Carrie: [Exhales deeply] Sami's dress is gorgeous. I think it must be the most beautiful one so far. Oh. I mean "yet." Sorry. I didn't mean to sound so pessimistic.

Marlena: I understand.

Carrie: [Exhales deeply] But this is really happening. It's gonna happen -- if Sami ever gets here.

Marlena: When she spoke to you, did she say where she was? Any idea?

Carrie: No. Her phone just died. Oh, actually, it was E.J.'s phone.

Marlena: E.J.? Oh, the race car driver that moved into your building?

Carrie: Yes. He was gonna drop Sami off at the church because I was picking Will up from football camp. Marlena, believe me, she's in good hands. He -- he's a great guy, and I'm sure he's doing everything he can to get her here as soon as possible.

Billie: Well, he better be because Deanna said that if Sami doesn't get here soon, she's not gonna have time to do her before the ceremony.

Chelsea: And she means it. She's practically got all of her stuff packed up, and she's ready to go. She's got another gig.

Carrie: Oh, no. Deanna, please just wait a few more minutes. I know she'll be here.

Deanna: We still have a little time.

Carrie: Thank you, thank you.

Deanna: I should call my next client. Plus, I think I left my hot rollers in my car. I'll be right back.

Carrie: Okay.

Billie: This is ridiculous. Where is she?

Carrie: I have no idea.

Marlena: Well, I hope she and E.J. haven't gotten into some kind of trouble.

[Knock on door]

Austin: Come in.

Lucas: How you doing? You all set? I just spoke to Father J. Everything's good. We're on course. We're right on schedule.

Austin: Great. How's Will? Is he dressed and ready to go? How's my tie?

Lucas: It's a little crooked, and he's doing good. He's taking his groomsman responsibilities very seriously. He picked the music for your reception. I hope that's okay. He's into that group that E.J. helped you guys book. Blue October? It's nice. Good sound.

Austin: Yeah. Great. Well, I trust his judgment completely.

Lucas: Well, I don't know if I'd do that. That might be a mistake. Anyway, man, you got about t-minus 45 minutes before the big day. You ready? How do you feel? I mean, 'cause if you're having second thoughts -- I'm not saying you should, but if you are...I can understand that, you know? I've been in your shoes, so if you want to back out, it's not too late.

Austin: No. No. I think it's pretty clear that Sami is the woman I'm meant to be with. I'm gonna go tell her right now how much I love her and how much I want to marry her. I can't wait.

Lucas: No. You have to wait. The groom can't see the bride before the ceremony. It's bad luck. The last thing Sami needs now is more bad luck.

Austin: We've had enough bad luck to last a lifetime. It's only good luck from here on out.

Sami: Uhh! Come on. All right. Officer Peters, you have to listen to me. We didn't do anything wrong.

Officer: Not according to the witness who saw you two breaking and entering.

Sami: We didn't break in.

E.J.: There was no forced entry of any kind.

Officer: Does that property belong to either one of you?

E.J.: Not exactly.

Officer: Were you invited in by the owner?

Sami: Of course we weren't invited in, but the place looked abandoned.

Officer: Then you were trespassing. Case closed.

E.J.: Look, Officer Peters, we did not mean to trespass, okay? We were simply trying to get out of the storm. My car broke down. We were on our way to get some help. We get caught in this downpour. We come across this house which seems to be deserted. There's nobody living there. The door's unlocked, and we decide to stay there until the storm breaks. You understand that, okay? It's this woman's wedding day. How am I supposed to just leave her outside and let her drown?

Sami: He was being a gentleman.

Officer: That's quite a story.

Sami: You have to believe us. We are telling you the truth.

Officer: Sorry. You'll have to tell it to the judge.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Belle: Philip's right. Claire has to be his daughter. Shawn can't be her father. It's impossible.

Philip: So there's no need for a DNA test. I think it would just be a waste of all of our time.

Lexie: Well, yeah, given that fact, it obviously would. Still, I'm going to investigate the origin of this paperwork and find out who left it in here for Shawn to find.

Philip: As I said before, I'm gonna look into it, too. This is someone messing with our lives, and they're not going to get away with it.

Lexie: No, they're not. We'll get to the bottom of this, I promise you. But right now, I would like to give Shawn a final once-over before I release him, so if you would excuse me.

Mimi: Absolutely. That is the most important thing right now -- making sure that you're okay. Honey, I'm just gonna be outside. Hopefully I can take you home soon.

Shawn D.: I hope so.

Philip: I'm about to strangle this bastard. First, he switches the embryos. Now he messes with Claire. It's a sick joke at our expense.

Mimi: Do you really think it's the same person?

Philip: You don't? Someone has it out for us. It may be one of the Bradyís. All I know is that a bogus DNA test ends up in my daughter's file, which somehow mysteriously ends up in Shawn's hospital room. And we're just supposed to believe that he's father, no questions asked? That's not gonna happen.

Mimi: Thank God.

Belle: Why would you say it like that?

Mimi: Like what?

Belle: Is there something you're not telling us?

Lucas: I just hope you know what you're doing, all right? She's gonna be pissed if you see her before the ceremony. She's had too many weddings go South.

Austin: She's got nothing to worry about, and she knows it. At least I'm gonna make sure she does, all right? Sami, it's, uh, it's Austin, your -- your husband-to-be. Look, I-I know you're -- I know you're kind of busy, but can I talk to you for a second?

Billie: Uh-oh.

Carrie: Austin can't know that Sami's not here.

Marlena: No. He would certainly worry about it, and he's probably nervous enough already.

Chelsea: I'd be nervous, too.

Austin: Sami, I know what you're thinking. You don't want me to see you before the ceremony. I won't come in. I won't even look at you. Well, let's talk through the door. Hello? Can you hear me? Sami?

Lucas: Nothing, huh?

Carrie: Hi.

Lucas: Hey, honey.

Carrie: Austin, what are you doing here? You need to go away.

Austin: Well, like I said, I just wanted to talk to Sami.

Carrie: Well, she's a little busy. She's got this wedding and everything, you know? Maybe later, yeah. [Chuckles]

Austin: I know Sami said she didn't want to be upstaged, but you look amazing.

Carrie: Well, like I said, the dress is okay.

Lucas: Well, you look wonderful in it.

Carrie: Thank you.

Lucas: Thank you.

Carrie: Thank both of you.

Austin: So, why didn't Sami answer me?

Carrie: Oh, you know, she didn't even hear you. She's having her hair blown out, plus she's listening to her mp3 player, and she's got the music cranked up really loud.. She says it helps her relax. Go figure.

Lucas: When did she get an mp3 player?

Carrie: She borrowed mine.

Austin: Can you just please tell her that I want to talk to her? I won't come in. I won't look at her. We'll just talk through the door. Is there a problem?

Sami: I don't have time for this, so just write us a ticket or whatever you have to do so we can get out of here.

Officer: I can't just write you a ticket. You're in some serious trouble here, young lady, and so is your friend.

Sami: No. You are the one who is gonna be in trouble when my father finds out that you ruined my wedding day and kept me from marrying the man that I love. Or do you even know who my father is?

Officer: Look, I don't care if he's George W. You and your buddy broke the law, and you have to answer for it.

E.J.: Excuse me. Would you care if her father was, uh, Commander Roman Brady?

Officer: The police commander?

Sami: Yes, like I've been telling you -- I am Samantha Brady, as in Commander Roman Brady's daughter. Okay. I'm glad we got that sorted out. Now will you kindly take these handcuffs off me so that I can go get married?

Mimi: I just meant that I'm relieved that none of us actually fell for that phony DNA test.

Belle: Right.

Mimi: And now whoever did this -- maybe they'll finally give up and stop harassing us.

Philip: There's not gonna be any more harassments. I'm tired of this crap.

Belle: So, what do you plan on doing?

Philip: I'm planning on finding the son of a bitch who did this and making him pay. Mark my words -- whoever it is, they are going away for a very, very long time.

Chelsea: I wonder what's going on outside with Austin and Carrie.

Billie: Well, donít. Do us all a favor and just stay out of it.

Carrie: There's no problem. I-I just -- I don't want to bother Sami. She's -- she's in the zone right now. Plus, she's finishing her wedding vows -- putting on the last touches.

Lucas: With the mp3 blasting in her ear?

Carrie: She says it helps her concentrate and relax -- relax and concentrate.

Austin: Okay. I don't want to disturb her. I just -- I want to talk to her, all right? Okay, will you just tell her... how excited I am to be marrying her -- what? -- In just over 30 minutes?

Lucas: Look, Carrie, he's not going anywhere. I tried to talk him out of this. It's not gonna happen. Let him talk to her so we can get the damn show on the road.

Carrie: I can't!

Austin: What is it? What is going on?

Carrie: I have -- I have to tell you something about Sami.

Chelsea: Sorry. Um, Uncle Austin... I really hate to be the one to tell you this, but, um, it looks like your fiancť's flown the coop.

Officer: So, Commander Brady's your father, huh?

Sami: Yes, he is, unfortunately for you.

Officer: This Commander Brady? Gosh, I wonder how you came up with that little "get out of jail free" card.

Sami: I didn't come up with it. It's true. You can ask anybody.

E.J.: She's telling the truth, Officer Peters. She's the commander's daughter.

Officer: And I'm supposed to take the word of her accomplice?

Sami: He's not my accomplice. Bo Brady's my uncle. Roman Brady is my dad..

Officer: Well, then we'll find out soon enough when the commander comes in, won't we? But, unfortunately for you, he has the day off, and, believe me, we all know not to bother him unless it's important.

Sami: He took the day off so that he could be at my wedding. He is waiting at St. Luke's for me to show up so that he can walk me down the aisle.

Officer: You don't give up, do you? I'll give you that.

Sami: I will swear it -- I'll swear on a stack of bibles. I am not making this up. [Sighs]

Officer: If the commander's daughter was getting married, don't you think I would know about it? I mean, that's a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Sami: For some people.

Officer: Officer Michaels... take these two down to booking.

Sami: Wait. What about my phone call?

E.J.: Actually, Samantha, I already tried calling St. Luke's while you were, uh, bargaining with Officer Peters here. I couldn't get ahold of anybody. I called your sister on her cellphone. Her voice mailbox was full. I'm guessing that she's ringing around, trying to find out where the hell you are. Do you have alternate numbers we could try?

Sami: No. Everyone I know is at the church, and they probably all have their cellphones off. And even if I wanted to, I couldn't call them because all their numbers are stored in my cellphone, which is now officially broken, damn it.

Officer: Don't damn anyone yet. Phone call comes after booking. Maybe by then --

Sami: Maybe by then, I'll have missed the entire wedding.

Officer: Lucky groom. Come with me.

Lexie: Okay. Everything checks out. Shawn is free to go.

Mimi: Thank goodness.

Lexie: Just make sure he gets plenty of rest and drinks lots of fluids, okay? He's still very dehydrated from the alcohol poisoning.

Mimi: Don't worry. I'm going to take very good care of him. I almost lost him, and I don't ever want to be in that place again.

Philip: I guess we can take off.

Belle: Let me say bye to him.

Philip: We got to get to the wedding. Your sister and my brother are gonna kill us if we don't make it.

Mimi: Can you tell them we're sorry we can't make it?

Belle: I'm sure they'll understand.

Philip: We'll let you know how Sami's 20th attempt at matrimony goes, okay?

Mimi: Please do.

Philip: We'll see you guys later.

Lexie: Bye.

Mimi: So, is he really okay?

Lexie: Yes. In a couple of days, he'll be back to normal. He's very lucky.

Mimi: I know. We both are.

Lexie: Look, you can go in now. His release papers have all been taken care of.

Mimi: Thanks again for everything.

Lexie: You're welcome.

Mimi: Well, you're all in the clear. You're out of here. I'm gonna take you home, where you belong.

John: Well, I don't know about you, but I can't wait to pick up where we left off the other night.

Eve: And, um, where was that? I seem to have forgotten.

John: Well, if we can hook up, I will do my best to try to remind you.

Eve: Well, that is a thought. What did you have in mind?

John: You know, someplace quiet, romantic, someplace where we can get to know each other on a much deeper level.

Eve, you're never gonna believe this. That perp I brought in was telling the truth. Her fingerprints prove that her name really is Samantha Brady, as in commander.

John: What the hell? You just arrested Samantha Brady?

Austin: [Chuckles] Chelsea, Sami hasn't flown the coop. She's in there.. She's getting her hair done.

Chelsea: Uh, no, she's not. I was just in there. No Sami -- not yet.

Austin: Carrie, can you tell me what the hell she's talking about?

Carrie: Chelsea, what is wrong with you?!

Chelsea: I'm sorry. He should know the truth.

Carrie: But you know that's not how it is. Okay. I'm sorry. She didn't fly the coop. She's running a little late -- that's all.

Austin: A little late? Hold on a second. Sami's not here? She's not here yet?

Chelsea: Uncle Austin, I'm really sorry, but it doesn't look like she and E.J. are gonna get here anytime soon.

Austin: Wait a minute. She's with E.J.?

Carrie: I can explain. Will called from football camp and said Noah's mom couldn't pick him up, that it needed to be a family member. So we decided that I would go pick him up and E.J. would bring Sami to the church. He was nice enough to offer.

Chelsea: I'll bet he was. And now that she's with that really hot race car driver, they either took the long way to get here -- the really long way -- or, uh, they took a detour to wherever runaway brides run off to.

Kate: I knew it. I knew this was gonna happen. Sami has run off with E.J.. Thank God. My prayers have been answered.

Woman: So, this your first time in?

Sami: No, actually. I made it all the way to death row once.

Woman: Death row? Girl, you've got to be kidding me.

Sami: I wish I were.

Woman: Well, what are you in for this time? Another murder? Attempted murder?

Sami: No! Okay, no. I didn't kill anyone. It was a big mistake, just like this is a huge mistake. Officer Peters arrested me on the most ridiculous charge.

Woman: Peters. Mm-hmm. Runs the vice squad.

Sami: There I was in this house -- abandoned house, no less -- minding my own business with this guy, and he busts in and arrests us. I don't believe this.

Woman: Girl, look who you're talking to. We know how it is. Sure do. You'd think they'd realize a girl's got to earn a living! Yeah.

Sami: Oh. No, I didn't mean it like that. No, it was just that it was raining outside and my friend's car broke down.

Woman: So you moved the party elsewhere. It happens all the time. One minute you're at the Jetway Motel, and the next you're in the alley behind Buddy's Burger Barn.

Sami: Oh, my God, no. You're misunderstanding. I'm not like you...ladies..

Woman: Excuse me? What, do you think you're better than us? Is that it?

Sami: No. No. I didn't mean it like that. I'm just explaining that I am the entertainment world. I just -- see, I was on my way to church. I'm getting married today.

Woman: And then you woke up. [Laughs] Married? That's a good one. So, this house -- where exactly would that be? In other words, what's your territory?

Sami: I don't have a territory. I'm serious. I-I don't do this. I'm a respectable, law-abiding citizen. My dad is the Salem Police Commander.

Woman: Yeah, and my sugar daddy is the D.A., and look what good that's done me. I hear that.

Sami: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Tell me what I did to deserve this. On second thought, donít.

Mimi: Lexie said you have to get lots of sleep and drink plenty of fluids.

Shawn D.: She told me.

Mimi: I'm gonna make sure you follow doctor's orders. Don't even think about going into the garage tomorrow, either.

Shawn D.: Where's Belle and Philip? Are they still outside?

Mimi: No, they left for the wedding. Are you okay?

Shawn D.: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking, the one thing that could come from this horrible situation -- the thing I never thought about.

Mimi: What's that?

Shawn D.: Is at least we don't have to go to Sami's wedding.

Mimi: That is true. That is true. But don't get too excited. You know there'll be another one at some point in the future.

Shawn D.: There always is.

Mimi: Come on. Let's get you out of here.

Woman: It's nothing to get all shook up over, honey. Getting busted every now and then comes with the territory. Trust me, you'll be out of here and back off your feet in no time. But you say your john got busted, too? That's bad for business. But they always come back sooner or later.

Sami: John!

Woman: Well, not that soon.

Sami: Thank God you're here. You have to help me. You have to get me out of here.

Woman: Mm-mmm. He's not half bad.

John: Eve, do you think I can have a minute alone with her?

Eve: No problem. Take your time.

John: Thank you. All right, Samantha. What kind of mess have you gotten yourself into this time?

Sami: Look, John, I don't have time to explain. I have to get myself to the church. I'm already late.

John: I don't know. You know, maybe you need to cool your heels in here for a while. Breaking and entering -- that's a pretty serious offense, and I would have thought you'd have something better to do on your wedding day.

Sami: No time for jokes. Are you gonna get me out of here, or what?

John: [Yawns]

Sami: Stop it!

John: Eve... let's bust her out of here.

Sami: Thank you, John. Thank you so much. Oh, God.

Woman: Sami, girl, why didn't you tell us your john was so cute? I sure could use me a daddy like him. Mmm.

Kate: Honey, I know this hurts -- I know it does -- but you're gonna get through it. Look at your brother. I mean, the best thing is it happened before the ceremony.

Carrie: Sami did not run off with E.J. Or anyone else, Austin.

Kate: Well, then where are they? I came in here, and I heard that E.J. and Sami are missing. The wedding's about to start, or it was.

Carrie: I'm sure there is a very good reason why they haven't shown up yet.

Austin: Carrie's right. There has to be. I mean -- I know how much Sami has dreamt about this day. She wouldn't just bail on it. There's no way.

Kate: What are you talking about? You know Sami's track record. Sami and marriage -- come on. It's a lethal combination. How many times has she sabotaged having a happy ending, hmm?

Austin: Not this time.

Kate: And then there's the fact of E.J. I mean, he's a very persuasive man. Somehow he always gets what he wants, doesn't he?

Lucas: I guess Sami can be easily persuaded under the right circumstances.

Austin: Persuaded to do what? What the hell are you two talking about? Listen to me. They are friends. That's it.

Kate: Austin, I mean, come on. Everyone's seen the spark between them. You've seen the spark between them. At that photo session -- did you see the photos from that publicity session? The chemistry was pretty obvious. I don't know. I wouldn't put it past either of them to just give in to impulse and run off together.

Chelsea: I mean, honestly, what other explanation could there be for them not being here? If they'd been in an accident, we would have heard about it.

Carrie: Maybe E.J. got a flat tire or something.

Chelsea: Carrie, he's a race car driver. If he had a flat tire, he would have changed it in two seconds.

Kate: Well, of course, he would have.

Chelsea: Anyway, I just think that we should call this whole thing off. If I hurry up, I can still make that sale.

Carrie: Forget it, Chelsea. You're not going anywhere, and no one is calling off this wedding.

[Sighs] Isn't that right, Austin?

Austin: Right. No one's calling off the wedding, at least of all Sami. She will be here. I'm sure she will be.

Kate: You haven't learned anything from the past.

Austin: Mom, I'm not gonna discuss it. I said she'll be here, and she will. If anyone needs me, I will be in the groom's room. Otherwise, I will see all of you in the church..

Kate: And if come reception time Austin is still single, then it will be time to break out the champagne.

Sami: What the hell is taking so long? John said we could get out of here.

Officer: You and your friend were processed. He has to follow procedure.

Sami: Oh, I'm sure you know all about that, Mr. "Everything by the book." You listen to me, Officer Peters, you are gonna regret having thrown me in jail. Just wait and see.

Officer: I was just doing my job, Miss Brady. I would hope you'd understand.

Sami: Just the way you understood that today is my wedding day and that I've already been through hell? And I don't just mean today. My whole life -- every time something starts to go right for me, something always screws it up. And all you had to do was give me a ride to the church. And right now, I'd be dressed and walking down the aisle with my dad. They're all probably at the church wondering what happened to me. Austin's probably called off the ceremony. And Kate -- the Wicked Witch of the West -- she's probably jumping for joy.

Officer: Look, I'm sorry. I really am.

Sami: I'll bet you are. Too little, too late.

Officer: I'm sure you can still make the wedding.

Sami: Oh, you're damn right I am. I'm not gonna give up now. I am gonna walk down that aisle with my dad, and I'll be sure to tell him why I was late and who is to blame, and somehow I don't think my dad will be too happy with the man who almost ruined his daughter's wedding day.

John: All right, Samantha. You and E.J. are free to go.

Sami: Oh, great. But we still don't have a ride to the church.

John: That's no problem. The number 9 bus -- right outside the station. Grab a transfer downtown, straight shot to St. Luke's.

Sami: You're really enjoying this, aren't you, John?

E.J.: I think he's pulling your leg, Samantha.

John: Oh, come on. You got to admit, it's a little comical, what with your history of wedding-day disasters and all. Well, maybe not. Of course I'm gonna drive you to the church. I'm heading there myself. Now, aren't you glad you invited me?

Sami: No.

John: Come on. Suck up. I'm the one who sprung you, aren't I?

Sami: Okay. Thank you. Thank you, John. All right. Let's go. Come on.

John: Pick you up around 7:00?

Eve: I'll be waiting.

Shawn D.: Hon, I'm okay. I can walk on my own.

Mimi: I'm sorry. I guess I'm just -- I'm still a little nervous.

Shawn D.: I'm the one who's sorry for scaring you. When I think what I put you through and my family --

Mimi: I just thank God that you're okay. And, you know, it's not like I haven't made my own mistakes. I've made some pretty big ones.

Shawn D.: Not like this.

Mimi: It's all over now, and all we can do now is just try and learn from our mistakes and be grateful that they didn't end up costing us a lot more.

Shawn D.: Hey. Hey. I am the one who's grateful. I don't deserve you. I'm so lucky to have you in my life.

Maggie: Oh! We thought we heard voices out here.

Maggie: I was hoping it was you home from the hospital. Shawn Douglas, do you have any idea what a fright you gave us?

Shawn D.: Yeah, I'm -- I'm really sorry. I did a really stupid thing.

Maggie: Well, I know I don't have to give you a lecture on the dangers of alcohol abuse, especially now, but considering I'm a recovering alcoholic, I consider it my duty. Shawn, hundreds of people die from binge drinking, specifically alcohol overdose, every year. And just because you're a man, it doesn't mean that you're immune -- right? -- Or that you can hold your liquor. So of those hundreds, most of them are very healthy young men about your age. So would you promise me that you won't think of doing that ever again, and if you do think about it, that you will call me or Uncle Mickey, please?

Shawn D.: Yes, I promise you it will not happen again. It was a stupid thing, like I said, that got way out of control. Aunt Maggie, I really -- I appreciate your concern. I do.

Maggie: Well, we love you, and, of course, we are concerned.

Shawn D.: By the way, why are you here? How did you get to take care of her? I thought the neighbor was doing it.

Maggie: Yeah, she was, but she had an emergency, too, so she had to take care of it. And Belle and Philip -- they had to go to the wedding, so I offered to step in. The truth be told, though, I'm thrilled. I just love spending time with this little girl -- this little, bitty angel.

Shawn D.: She's an amazing girl, all right.

Mimi: Yeah, she is. We should really get inside. Lexie said you needed to rest.

Maggie: Oh, yeah, yeah, absolutely. But, Shawn, you know, I really am glad you're all right. We feel very blessed, don't we, Claire? We feel very blessed.

Shawn D.: Thank you, Aunt Maggie. I feel like I've been given a second chance, and I'm gonna do a better job.

Claire: [Babbling]

Maggie: Ooh, yeah.

Marlena: Thank you, Roman. That would be just great. Uh-huh. I'll call you if anything happens. Thanks. Bye-bye. Roman is gonna talk to his friends at the precinct and see if they can't keep an eye out for Sami.

Carrie: I just don't understand what happened. Sami was looking forward to today. She was so excited.

Marlena: Well, I hope nothing did happen. I mean, like Sami getting cold feet or there being some kind of an accident.

Carrie: Well, if that were the case, we would have heard something, right? I think no news is definitely good news.

Marlena: I think you're right. Sami just might have stopped off to finish some last-minute piece of business. She was so eager to have this be a perfect day, so maybe she's just stopped to do something or get something.

Carrie: Exactly. You know what? She wanted to get one of those all-over-body spray tans, and she couldn't make up her mind whether to do it or not. I bet she decided to do it, she called me, and the phone died.

Marlena: That's it. That's what happened. That is exactly what happened.

Carrie: She's gonna be here.

Marlena: Uh-huh.

Carrie: This is really going to happen.

Marlena: How are you?

Carrie: How am I doing?

Marlena: Yeah. It was very good of you to agree to be Sami's matron of honor.

Carrie: I was thrilled that she asked.

Marlena: Of course you were. What about deep down?

Carrie: Deep down -- do you mean, do I wish that I was the bride today? Is that what you were gonna ask?

Marlena: Mm-hmm.

Carrie: Marlena -- oh. You know me so well. I can't hide anything from you. When I first came back to Salem, a big part of me did think that Austin and me could make things work.

Marlena: I'm so sorry that I wasn't here for you.

Carrie: I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you. I feel like I've been so self-absorbed lately.

Marlena: No, that's not the Carrie that I know.

Carrie: That's what I mean. I don't even feel like I know who I am anymore.

Marlena: Well, I do understand that feeling.

Carrie: Oh, Marlena. [Exhales deeply] I just hope that everything works out the way it's meant to. For you, too. I mean, this is what Sami's wanted her whole life -- right? -- To marry Austin. And Lucas -- he's a great guy. He's a wonderful husband, and he's been so good to me. I am incredibly lucky.

Marlena: Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself.

Carrie: Maybe. But that doesn't mean that it's not true.

Marlena: I'm so sorry about your pregnancy.

Carrie: Thanks. But, you know, what happened with Lucas and me -- it's not like there even ever was a baby.

Marlena: But you thought there was, and you have to complete your grieving process. There's nothing wrong with that.

Carrie: Yeah, and I just feel like I've let so many people down, and the only person I haven't yet is Sami, and I don't want to add her to the list.

Marlena: Why do you say that?

Carrie: I just want you to know, and I want her to know that I really, truly am happy for her.

Marlena: I know you are. But you know what, Carrie? Sometimes it's very hard to forget an old love. You and Austin were so close. You were so good together. And now you're about to watch him marry your sister. So I guess a part of me wonders if, deep down, you're hoping this wedding doesn't happen.

Maggie: Will you do whatever Mimi tells you to, please? Rest and take it easy.

Shawn D.: Don't worry. Usually I do most of what Mimi says.

Mimi: He's going right in to take his nap.

Maggie: Which is what we think this little one ought to be doing. Let's say goodbye. Hey, let's say goodbye. "Good-bye, Mimi. Good-bye, Uncle Shawn."

Mimi: Bye, Claire. Have a good nap. Time for yours.

Maggie: Here we go.

Billie: For Austin's sake, I hope nothing really bad's happened. I've had enough crisis for one day.

Chelsea: So, you think Sami's a no-show, too.

Billie: I don't know what to think. Anyway, listen, did you call your brother at the hospital?

Chelsea: Yeah. They said he's been released.

Billie: Oh, good. Good. Hallelujah. Something good happened today.

Chelsea: Let's hope so.

Billie: What does that mean?

Chelsea: Nothing.

Billie: Chelsea... you said earlier something about doing a good deed. What exactly did you do?

Belle: Hey.

Chelsea: Oh, my God. You two are still together?

Belle: What are you talking about, Chelsea? Why wouldn't we be?

Austin: Seven more minutes.

Lucas: Yeah, I know. Just remember what I said -- she'll be here. I don't know where she is or why she's late, but she wouldn't miss this wedding for the world. I don't care what mom says.

Kate: Austin...

Austin: Mom -- Mom, no. Not now.

Kate: I just want to apologize. I really do. I didn't mean to sound so unsupportive.

Lucas: [Clears throat]

Kate: Sweetie, I just want you to be happy -- that's all -- and, well, if Sami's not gonna show up, then --

Austin: She will. She will. Look, if you really want me to be happy -- okay? -- Then wipe that smile off your face.

Kate: Honey, I'm -- I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I can't help it. It -- it's -- Austin, it's just that I thought today was going to be the worst day of my life -- and your life, too -- and now it looks like it's going to be completely the opposite.

Marlena: I know that you're happy for Sami. So am I. But I wonder, with all the history that she has with Austin and with Lucas, if this isn't just a wee bit rushed.

Carrie: Well, that's my fault, too, because of that stupid home-pregnancy test.

Marlena: You can't take on all the responsibilities of the world, you know? I remember when you were a little girl, and you had your dolls, and you loved to play with them, and you spent hours dressing them and combing their hair. And every once in a while, Sami would want to play with one, and she'd either break it or pull the hair out.

Carrie: [Chuckles]

Marlena: You never wanted it back after that. You were so good to her. You were such a good big sister, and she just adored you. I wonder if you're doing this out of a sense of -- I don't know -- guilt, wanting to be that big sister still. But you're not helping her. You're not helping anybody.

John: Look who I found at Salem P.D.

Carrie: We were so worried about you. Why were you at the police department?

Sami: It's okay. I'll tell you the whole story later. Right now, I want to get ready because I am gonna marry Austin today.

Lexie: There are other things going on here, too.

Tek: What do you mean?

Lexie: I mean that we could all be in for a whole lot of trouble.

Kayla: What's up with the two of you? You look like two cats that swallowed canaries.

Bo: Nothing.

Carrie: I can see it in your eyes, Belle. You wish that Claire was Shawn's baby, don't you?

Roman: Do you want to marry Austin or not?
