[Knock on door]

Lucas: Hey, hey.

Carrie: Morning.

Lucas: Good morning. The groom -- there he is. Where's the bride-to-be?

Austin: She slept across the hall, at E.J.'s.

Lucas: Oh.

Sami: Morning.

Bo: There's Mimi.

Hope: Mimi.

Mimi: There's no change. The nurse is in there with him now. She said that he's still stable, but I thought he would have regained consciousness by now.

Bo: The doc said it would take some time for the toxins to clear his system. We just -- we got to be patient.

Philip: All I can figure is he must have had a lot to drink before I showed up. I had no idea.

Bo: Philip, don't blame yourself.

Mimi: He's going to be okay. He has to be.

Bo: Yeah.

Philip: Hey, don't you think I should probably take you home?

Belle: No. I don't want to leave.

Philip: You've been up all night. You're fried. I mean, let's go home.

Belle: Philip, I don't want to go anywhere.

Philip: You're pregnant, honey. It's late.

Belle: It's very nice that you're worried about me, but I am only gonna worry more if I'm at home and I don't know what's going on.

Philip: Mimi can call us if anything changes.

Belle: I said no. I'm not leaving here until I know that Shawn is okay.

Billie: Come on, Chelsea. Let's get out of here.

Chelsea: Well, you can go if you want, but I'm staying.

Billie: Chelsea, there's nothing more we can do here.

Chelsea: Mom, I know that Shawn hates me for what happened to Zack, okay? But he is still my half brother, and I don't want to see him die.

Billie: Of course not.

Chelsea: He saved my life, Mom. When I was down in that sewer, he was the one that rescued me. He risked his own life to save mine, and I just want a chance to make things right with him.

Billie: Come here, come here. It's okay.

Hope: We just have to keep praying, okay?

Mimi: Mm-hmm. Um, excuse me for just a minute.

Bo: Hope? Hey, the nurse is here.

Nurse: If you and your wife would like to sit with him, you can go in now.

Bo: Okay, thanks.

Hope: Thank you.

Bo: Hope, what's wrong?

Hope: I can't do it.

Bo: Hope, come on.

Hope: No, I can’t. I can’t. I can't go in there.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Hope: I'm sorry. You go ahead.

Bo: No, no. Why don't you want to see Shawn?

Hope: I do want to see him. It's just...being here... it feels so much like --

Bo: The night Zack died. Yeah.

Hope: I can't go through this again -- taking our son off life support, signing papers to donate his organs. I can't lose a son.

Bo: That's not going to happen. This is very different.

Hope: You don't know that.

Bo: I feel it. Now, come on. Shawn needs us. Hearing his mom's voice might be all he needs to come back to us. Let's go. [Monitors beeping steadily]

Hope: My God. Look at him.

Chelsea: I know that Shawn's never gonna forgive me for what happened to Zack. And why should he? I can't even forgive myself. But, Mom, I really want to be a better sister to him, and I just want the chance.

Billie: Okay, listen -- let's look at the positive side of things, okay? Let's be positive. Shawn has so much to live for. He's got his parents, he's got his wife, and a brand-new baby on the way.

Chelsea: Yeah. He's got a lot more to live for than that.

Billie: What do you mean by that?

Chelsea: Oh, uh, nothing. Look, I got to go.

Billie: Hey, where are you going?

Chelsea: I just have to do something for Shawn.

Hope: Shawn, it's mom. Can you hear me? Can you squeeze my hand? You have to pull through this, honey. You've got to fight. I love you so much, Shawn. I need you. Your dad and I both need you.

Bo: Stay here. Hey, son. Your mom and I are here for you. We love you. Mimi's here. She loves you. Your friends... you've got an awful lot to live for -- a new wife, a baby on the way. I know how much you're looking forward to being a father. You're gonna be a great one. The day you were born, the day you made your mom and I parents, that was the most important, happy day of our lives. I'm proud of you, Shawn Douglas, and I know you probably haven't heard that enough from me. I'll tell you what. Why don't you come on back to us, huh? Give me another chance, 'cause I'm gonna be there for you no matter what happens. You are family. You're my priority. You're stubborn just like your old man, and that's not necessarily a bad thing... 'cause I know you got it in you. You got the fight in you to come back to us. So come on, son.. Come back to us.

Philip: Hey.

Belle: This waiting is so hard.

Mimi: I'm going crazy.

Philip: Look, I hate to have to bring this up right now, but you do realize that today is Sami's wedding, right?

Belle: I don't care about Sami's wedding. The only thing I'm focused on right now is Shawn.

Sami: [Sighs]

E.J.: If you wake up like this every morning, Austin will be --

Sami: Oh, my God. E.J.

E.J.: Good morning.

Sami: Oh. Oh, my God. I thought I was kissing Austin.

E.J.: Apparently. I'm really sorry.

Sami: I'm so sorry. Oh, I'm so sorry. Please don't misunderstand. I didn't mean for you to think that I --

E.J.: It's totally fine. Don't worry. I know exactly how much you're looking forward to becoming Mrs. Austin Reed later today, so...

Sami: Oh, God. Oh. I'm s-- how could you let me sleep so late? Oh, my God. I'm gonna be late for my own wedding!

E.J.: You looked so comfortable sleeping. I am so sorry.

Carrie: That's weird.

Austin: What?

Carrie: Well, there's no answer at E.J.'s. He and Sami have to be there. Do you think he turned off his phone?

Austin: I don't know. Beats me. I'll go over there and find out.

Carrie: Oh, Austin, don’t.

Austin: What?

Carrie: Well, it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony. That's why Sami didn't spend the night here last night.

Austin: Oh, come on. You don't believe in that stuff, do you?

Lucas: Well, Sami does. When it comes to weddings, she kind of creates her own bad luck, doesn't she?

Carrie: Lucas, I asked you nicely.

Lucas: I'm stating the obvious.

Austin: We all are aware of Sami's history with weddings.

Lucas: Right. We all have our war wounds to prove it, don't we?

Austin: It's not like we have the best track record, either.

Lucas: Until now. Look, I really want this wedding to happen for you. I do. So I'll go over to E.J.'s, and I'll see what's keeping her. You gonna be all right?

Carrie: Yeah.

Lucas: I'll be right back, okay?

Carrie: Okay. I know that look.

Austin: What look?

Carrie: I heard what you said to Lucas. Are you afraid something's gonna go wrong today?

E.J.: Can I get you some coffee?

Sami: Did you say coffee? I don't have time for coffee. I don't have time for anything. I am late for my own wedding. [Knock on door] Okay, that's fine. Just stay calm. You're gonna pull this together.

E.J.: Morning, Lucas.

Lucas: Hey. Is Sami --

Sami: Yeah, I'm right here, Lucas. What's up?

Lucas: What the hell's going on, Sami?

Sami: Nothing. I'm fine. Why are you looking at me like that?

Lucas: You missed a button.

Sami: Ow. Oh, my God. It's not what it looks like.

Lucas: Well, good. How come you didn't answer the phone when Carrie called?

E.J.: That was my fault. I switched the phone off last night. Basically, I get a lot of late phone calls from Europe. I knew that you would need your sleep. I didn't want you to be disturbed. Unfortunately, we both overslept. This is yours.

Sami: Thank you.

E.J.: You're welcome.

Sami: In separate bedrooms, Lucas. God. What kind of woman do you -- never mind. Don't answer that.

Lucas: Do you want to get married today or what? You got to get a move on. Carrie's waiting for you in your apartment.

Sami: I know she is. Damn it. I can't go into my apartment.

Lucas: Why not?

Sami: Because Austin is there. Do you want me to jinx my wedding?

Austin: No. No, everything's gonna be fine. The wedding is going to be fine.

Carrie: What about E.J.?

Austin: What about him? I trust him. More importantly, I trust Sami.

Carrie: So is there anything I can do for you to help get ready for the wedding?

Austin: I don't know. You can help me pick out cuff links and studs.

Carrie: Studs?

Austin: Studs.

Carrie: Sure. Are they in here?

Austin: Yeah. That's the stud box.

Carrie: Oh, my goodness. Ooh. How about these? They're simple and elegant.

Austin: And they match.

Carrie: Yeah. That's the general idea.

Austin: So do you like your dress? I know most women in bridal parties -- they hate their dress.

Carrie: True, but this one's okay... although Sami made it very clear she didn't want anyone upstaging her, especially not her matron of honor.

Austin: So what color is it, like lime, avocado?

Carrie: [Laughs] Who are you, Joan Rivers?

Austin: Let me see.

Carrie: No.

Austin: Why not?

Carrie: Because.

Austin: Come on. Give me a sneak preview.

Carrie: Sorry. You'll see it soon enough.

Austin: Okay. I give up. I don't understand what the big deal is. It's not like you're the bride.

Austin: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bum you out.

Carrie: You didn’t.

Austin: No, I just thought you seemed...

Carrie: What?

Austin: You came in here. You were in a good mood.

Carrie: I'm still in a good mood. Today's the day that my sister is marrying the man of her dreams. She's very lucky. You're gonna be a wonderful husband.

Austin: You really believe that?

Carrie: Of course I do. You're a great guy, Austin. You're honest and dependable, faithful.

Austin: I don't know how you can call me faithful. We both know that's not true.

Carrie: I thought that we weren't gonna talk about what happened between us.

Austin: Well, we can't pretend like it didn't happen. We made love. I cheated on Sami.

Carrie: And I cheated on Lucas. It was a mistake. The night on the roof never should have happened.

Austin: But it did.

Carrie: And today, you are getting married. Let's focus on that. You are a terrific guy. I know that you're gonna make Sami very happy.

Austin: I'm sure gonna try.

Carrie: And I'm sure that it's gonna be a beautiful wedding.

Sami: Who oversleeps on their wedding day? Honestly, Lucas, I ruined my wedding!

Lucas: Relax!

Sami: I am not even dressed yet, and I have to get ready. I'm late for my own freaking wedding, and, normally, problems don't start happening till I at least get to the church!

E.J.: Samantha, you need to listen to Lucas and calm down, please.

Sami: I can't calm down. My hair is not done, E.J. I have to go. I can't go to my apartment --

Lucas: I'll send Carrie over. She said something about having a stylist at the church for you.

Sami: She did?

Lucas: Yeah. Carrie and I are gonna make sure that nothing goes wrong this time.

Sami: Do you mean that?

Lucas: Yeah, of course I mean that. This is your big day, all right? I don't want you to panic. Everything's gonna be fine.

Sami: Thanks, Lucas.

Lucas: Just take a breath and relax. Don't get yourself worked up like that.

E.J.: He seems very concerned about you.

Sami: Yeah.

E.J.: Do you really think that he wants this wedding to go forward?

Sami: What?

E.J.: The two of you, Samantha, you seem very... connected.

Sami: Yeah, well, obviously we're connected. We have a son. But he is thrilled that I am marrying Austin because now that means that his brother will be off the market.

E.J.: You really think that he has that little faith in his own marriage?

Sami: No, I didn't --

E.J.: Maybe that's because he really loves you.

Sami: Believe me, Lucas wants to be with Carrie. He has made that very clear. Just like I want to be with Austin. So now we're getting to marry the people we want to marry, and we are all four of us gonna live happily ever after.

E.J.: Really?

Sami: Yeah. Yeah, really. I mean, a part of me will always love Lucas. How can I not? Every time I look into my son's eyes, I see him. But our relationship is over, and we have both moved on with other people. I am so excited that I get to marry Austin today, and Lucas is happily married to my sister.

E.J.: And that's it?

Sami: Yeah. Yeah, that's it. Look, with me and Lucas, it's like a love/hate thing, maybe because we're so similar. Whenever we're in a room together, we're either at each other's throats or...

E.J.: Or?

Sami: Well, I'll spare you the details, but our relationship was never boring. But anyway, right now we've decided that it's better for us just to be friends.

E.J.: Do you really think a man and a woman can be just friends?

Sami: Well, yeah. I mean, you and I are just friends, right?

E.J.: So we are.

Belle: How is he?

Hope: I don't even know if he knew that we were there.

Mimi: Belle... why don't you go sit with him?

Belle: Are you sure you don't mind?

Mimi: Talk to him. You're carrying his child. Tell him how much the baby's gonna need him, how much we all need him.

Belle: Thank you, Mimi.

Mimi: [Exhales sharply]

Hope: That was a very unselfish thing you just did, honey.

Mimi: Hope, I would do anything for Shawn. He's got to come out of this. He has to.

Hope: I know.

Belle: Hey. It's me. Please don't leave us.

Carrie: I'm so glad that we're still friends. [Door opens]

Austin: [Laughs]

Lucas: Hey. Mystery solved. She overslept.

Carrie: She overslept on her wedding day? Did you tell her that I'm here and I'm ready to help?

Lucas: Yeah, I did, but she's not coming near this apartment because of the big guy, so I told her you'd go over there.

Carrie: Okay. Will do. I guess I'll see you two at the church.

Lucas: Yep. Church on time.

Austin: We'll be there.

Lucas: Bagels. Nice. You sure you know what you're getting yourself into?

Austin: I got a pretty good idea.

Lucas: Yeah, I know. I know you guys spent enough time together. I know you know it's not easy living with Sami.

Austin: Sami is Sami.

Lucas: Yep, she sure is. She'll drive you crazy one minute. The next minute, you're in love with her. Look, I know a lot of people have given you a hard time for being with Sami after everything she did to you and Carrie, but I can understand it, you know? If anyone can understand how you feel about her, it's me. She can be impossible to stop caring about.

Austin: If I ask you a question, would you give me an honest answer?

Lucas: Yeah, why?

Austin: I don't know. Just listening to you talk about Sami, it sounds like you're still in love with her. Are you?

Sami: What do you mean Noah's mom can't pick you up? But she promised me.. But doesn't she know that it's my wedding day? No, of course. No, of course, Will, but I don't know if I have the time.

E.J.: Sami, what's wrong?

Sami: Hold on, honey. Will had a ride home from camp, and now she is flaking on me. I don't know what to do.

E.J.: I can give him a ride.

Sami: No, the camp won't let you pick him up. It has to be family. Carrie, could you get him?

Carrie: Yes, of course I can.

E.J.: If you do that, I'll take you to the church.

Sami: Oh, you're both lifesavers. Will, honey, it's all organized. Your Aunt Carrie's gonna come pick you up, okay? You just have to tell the camp. I love you, too, and I will see you at the church. Okay. What else could go wrong?

Carrie: Oh, come on, Sami. Nothing's going wrong. I'll pick up Will, and we will meet you at the church. Everything is fine.

Sami: Thank you so much, Carrie. You're the best. Oh, my God. Look at the time! I'm gonna be late.

E.J.: What are we waiting for? Come on. Let's go.

Carrie: Speed racer, you have precious cargo, so don't speed.

E.J.: You do want me to get her to the church on time.

Carrie: Yes.

E.J.: Let's go, let's go.

Belle: You have to get better. We love you so much. We need you. And this baby is gonna need you most of all. This baby that I am carrying is ours. It's yours and mine. I'm so sorry that there's been so much fighting and pain over this child, but you and I know that this baby's a blessing, and I promise I will never let anyone take him or her away from you. I know that I said I would let you go, that I wouldn't interfere in your marriage, but I can't settle for just friendship when we've had so much more. I still love you. And even though you're married to Mimi and I'm married to Philip, I just know in my heart that you and I are supposed to spend the rest of our lives together. Almost losing you like this, it just makes everything so much clearer. I can't spend my whole future trying to talk myself out of wanting to be with you. [Voice breaking] I can't live my life without you in it. [Sniffles] So you have to get better so that we can find our way back to each other. I don't know how, but there has to be a way.

Bo: What the hell are you doing? I told you to stay away from my son.

Chelsea: I just wanted to --

Bo: I don't give a damn what you want. Stay away from him.

Billie: Hey, Chelsea, what's wrong? Are you all right?

Chelsea: Yeah, I'm fine.

Billie: No, you're not.

Chelsea: I'm just upset about Shawn.

Billie: Are you sure that's all that's bothering you?

Chelsea: Yeah.

Billie: What's that?

Chelsea: Oh, um, it's just some work that I need to finish up.

Billie: So that's why you ran off earlier? Because you had work to do?

Chelsea: Sort of. Yeah.

Billie: You told me it had to do with Shawn.

Chelsea: Well, actually, it had more to do with what you said earlier -- something that you said.

Billie: Something that I said?

Chelsea: Yeah, about doing good deeds. And I thought about it, and you're right. So I'm gonna prove to you and everybody else that I really can do the right thing.

Hope: Doctor.

Doctor: Shawn's vital signs are improving.

Mimi: Does that mean he's gonna be okay?

Doctor: Well, understand, Shawn's condition is still very serious, but he is responding to stimuli, which is a good thing. But be prepared, because even if he does regain consciousness, there still may be brain damage.

Hope: Oh, my God.

Doctor: Now, really, this is a worst-case scenario. We're doing everything we can. I know this is difficult, but we just have to wait and see.

Bo: Thanks, doctor.

Hope: Excuse me.

Bo: Hope.

Billie: I wish there was something we could do.

Chelsea: Maybe there is.

Hope: Dear God... it's been a long time since I've talked to you...since the time I was with Belle, and we were praying for Claire to find a liver donor. I just never thought that little boy would be mine. Taking one child to save another -- how do you make a decision like that? I know that you knew that Zack was the sweetest, most wonderful boy in the world. And I am so grateful for the time we had with him, but we missed out on two years of his life, and now we miss him every day. You know, everyone says that time heals, but every day that passes takes us further away from the last time we were with him. [Voice breaking] Oh, God... I never thought I could survive something like that. But you gave me no choice. God, I know that I could never survive losing another child. Please. Shawn is such a good person. He has such a full, rich life ahead of him. In a few months, he's gonna be a father. That child's gonna need him. Please, God, I'm begging you. I'm begging you. Don't take him from us. Bring him back to us. Let him be okay, please. Our family has suffered so much loss. If Shawn dies...I'm afraid our family will die with him. [Sniffles]

Lucas: No, all right? I'm not still in love with Sami. Why would you even ask me that?

Austin: The two of you were in love for a really long time. You almost married her twice.

Lucas: Yeah, and we both know why that didn't go down.

Austin: It wasn't because you didn't love her.

Lucas: No, it's 'cause she lied to me and broke my heart with her lies. I'm grateful that we're friends, all right? But whatever we had is over. That's it.

Austin: Okay. Hey, man, that's all I wanted to know.

Lucas: Good. I'm with Carrie now. I love Carrie. That's who I should be with. She adds a lot of stability in my life. There's no drama like there is with Sami. With Sami, it's a roller-coaster I don't want to take again. And you've always known how to handle Sami better than me, so I'm glad that you guys are together. I want what's best. I want you to be happy..

Austin: Thanks.

Lucas: One thing's for sure. With Sami, life will never be dull.

Sami: Could anything else go wrong today?

E.J.: Samantha, just relax, okay? [Police radio chatter]

Sami: If one more person tells me to relax, I swear I'm gonna freak out. Come on, E.J., why did you have to drive so fast?

Chelsea: Hey, Shawn, it's Chelsea. I know that if you were awake right now, you'd kick my butt out of here, so I'll make this quick. Um, I know that you hate me still for what happened to Zack, and I totally understand that. And I hate what happened to him, too, and I know that there's nothing that I can say or do to make anything better, but what I can do is this. And I know that these are the answers that Belle's been looking for, and I think that they're the answers you've been looking for, too. Zack is right. You and Belle belong together, and hopefully this can make that happen.

Austin: I am all set to go.

Lucas: Good news. Nice. Next time you walk through that door, you're gonna be a married man.

Austin: Sounds good to me.

Lucas: I want you to know that I'm happy. I want what's best, you know?

Austin: Lucas, I hope your marriage to Carrie is everything you want it to be.

Lucas: Well, thanks. And good luck. With Sami, you're gonna need it.

Sami: [Sighs] Of course. Of course we got a speeding ticket.

E.J.: Samantha, don't worry. I can talk my way out of this one.

Sami: Oh, I'm sure you can talk your way out of anything. I don't recognize that guy, so he's not gonna know who I am or who my dad is. No, just do me a favor, okay? Take the ticket. I'll pay you back for it. And let's just get out of here.

E.J.: Are you encouraging me to speed again?

Sami: Well, of course, I need to get to the -- did you do this on purpose?

E.J.: What?

Sami: You don't want me to get married today.

Hope: [Sniffles]

Bo: Shawn's gonna be okay.

Hope: Promise me that.

Bo: I promise. Come on. Let's go see our son.

Philip: Hey, why don't you come sit down with us?

Mimi: I'm too nervous to sit. I can't sit.

Philip: Shawn's a fighter. He's got every reason in the world to want to keep on living, right?

Mimi: I hope you're right.

Philip: Come on.

Belle: I just hope it's gonna be enough.

Chelsea: Shawn, wake up, please. You've got to see what's in this file. I know that it'll make you feel like you have something to live for.

Sami: I have been through every single possible worst-case scenario that a bride can go through on her wedding day. Oh, God, I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

Mimi: I'm the one who deserves to be punished for lying to Shawn about Claire all these months.

Hope: Don't you have a wedding to go to?

Bo: You're not going?

Belle: It's a file with Claire's name on it. Oh, my God.
