Carrie: Please, Lucas.

Lucas: Come on, now, Carrie. Get the music set here.

Carrie: The suspense is killing me.

Lucas: I know, I know. Here, one more minute. [Soft music plays] That's good. Rose petals -- nice! All right, almost, almost.

Carrie: Now?

Lucas: No, no, don't open.

Carrie: [Gasps] Oh.

Lucas: All right.

Carrie: [Giggles]

Lucas: Now you can open.

Carrie: [Gasps] Oh! [Laughs]

Lucas: Yeah, almost as beautiful as you are. And you are, like, the lightest pregnant woman ever. How'd that happen?

Carrie: Oh, I think you're just very strong.

Lucas: Well, that's very true. I am pretty strong.

Carrie: Actually, I have to admit, my grandma had to take in the dress before the ceremony.

Lucas: Pregnant and losing weight?

Carrie: I'll talk to Lexie about it.

Lucas: You know what? I'm sure it'll be fine.

Carrie: I'm sure it will, too.

Lucas: I don't think we should worry.

Carrie: My mom said she hardly gained any weight when she was pregnant with me.

Lucas: See? And you turned out okay, right? Actually, perfect. Very perfect.

Carrie: [Giggles]

Lucas: So, Mrs. Lucas Roberts, are you ready? Are you ready to spend our first night together as husband and wife?

Carrie: Yes.

[Techno music plays]

Austin: All right.

Sami: [Chuckles]

Angela: Well, should I call 911 now or later?

Sami: What do you mean?

Angela: It seems like every time you show up here, someone gets rushed to the hospital for appendicitis or police come and raid my place for no reason.

Sami: You know what? I don't have to listen to this. Are you gonna seat us or what?

Angela: This way.

Austin: Thank you. It's gonna be all good.

[Cellphone ringing]

Max: Hello?

Stephanie: Max, it's Stephanie. I'll be there soon. I promise.

Max: Oh, yeah, don't worry about it. No, I'll see you then. Okay, bye.

Chelsea: So, she's late, huh?

Max: Why are you following me?

Chelsea: I'm not following you. No, for your information, I'm actually here to meet somebody.

Max: Oh, really? Who?

Chelsea: Um...my cousin... Sami.

Max: [Chuckles]

Chelsea: What? You don't believe me?

Max: No. You and Sami are friends?

Chelsea: Uh-huh.

Max: Just admit it, Chelsea. You tailed me here so you could see who I was with tonight.

Mimi: [Sighs] This is agonizing. What is going on with our surrogate?

Shawn D.: Come on, it hasn't been that long.

Mimi: You don't think there's a problem?

Shawn D.: If there was, we would know about it. Stop freaking out, okay? It's gonna be fine.

Betty: How are you doing, Mrs. Kiriakis?

Belle: Oh, I'm fine. I'm a little anxious, I guess.

Betty: That's natural. Dr. Jaynes will be in very shortly.

Philip: So, that's our fertilized egg right there?

Betty: That's it.

Philip: That's amazing. In 9 months, do you realize --

Belle: Wait, so, shh, here's a paranoid question. How do we know that, that's my egg in there?

Philip: What? It better be your egg in there. It's got your name on it.

Betty: No, no, not to worry. I hear that question plenty. But we've been doing this a long time. The hospital has plenty of safeguards in place. There's no room for error.

Dr. Jaynes: Sorry to keep you waiting. You ready, Mrs. Kiriakis?

Belle: Yeah, we're all set.

Philip: We are very excited.

Dr. Jaynes: Well, let's hope for a happy result. Now, I just need you to lie back and relax. You're gonna feel a slightly cold sensation. It'll all be over after you count to 10.

Belle: Okay. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7... 8...9...10.

Dr. Jaynes: We're all done.

Philip: That's it?

Belle: We're all done.

Dr. Jaynes: That's it. Now, I just need you to lie back, stay still, and then the nurse will be back with some check-out instructions.

Belle: Okay, thank you.

Philip: Thanks, doc.

Dr. Jaynes: You're welcome. Until your next appointment, good luck.

Philip: Nice.

Nick: No, no, no, no. I can't do this. We can't do this again, no. It's not right.

Kayla: Not right? You're my husband.

Nick: What kind of husband am I? What does that mean, Kayla? I don't remember you. I don't remember being your husband.

Kayla: But I remember. And somehow you were brought back to me, and I want you. And I think that you want me.

Jennifer: Gosh, I hate this, Frankie. I hate...seeing Jack lying here like this and there isn't anything that we can do to help him.

Frankie: What you're doing is helping.

Jennifer: Really? How?

Frankie: Your being with him. Jen, he knows you're here.

Jennifer: I don't know. I don't even know about that, Frankie. I don't want him to die.

Frankie: I don't, either.

Jennifer: And I know -- I know we have to accept it. But he's been my husband. He's been my husband for all these years and the father of my children. [Doorbell rings]

Frankie: You know what? I'll get it. I'm sure it's Lexie, okay? [Door closes]

Jennifer: I can't let you go. I can't do it. I can’t...let you go.

Frankie: Lexie, thanks for coming.

Lexie: I came as soon as I could. How's Jack?

Frankie: Not good. Jen's upstairs.

Lexie: Okay.

Frankie: What, wh-- why haven't we heard of this? I'm not a doctor, but this... this could save his life.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Carrie: Thank you for doing all this, Lucas.

Lucas: I know you didn't want to go to a hotel, so I thought I'd make the apartment as romantic as possible...you know, for our first night together...

Carrie: Mm-hmm.

Lucas: ...As husband and wife.

Carrie: It's perfect.

[Techno music plays]

Sami: Austin, this was a really good idea.

Austin: Coming here?

Sami: Yeah. And it's nice to be out... without Lucas and Carrie.

Austin: Too much togetherness with your sister and my brother.

Sami: [Chuckles] Yeah, well, it's definitely nice to be alone for a change.

Austin: Yes, it is.

Sami: I can't believe that Lucas and Carrie are officially married. I mean, it really hit me when they were walking down the aisle as man and wife. But it got me fantasizing about our wedding.

Austin: Fantasizing...how?

Sami: [Laughs] All good things. I mean, Carrie and Lucas' wedding was beautiful -- don't get me wrong -- but...I think our wedding should have a little more... je ne sais quoi -- whatever that means.

Austin: Well, yeah, it was beautiful, but I know you said you wanted to have something, you know, more...more...pizzazz.

Sami: Lavish maybe?

Austin: Lavish.

Sami: Yeah, exactly. You know how they say less is more? When it comes to a wedding, as far as I'm concerned, more is more.

Austin: You know what, Sami? I want you to have the wedding of your dreams, but let's not book the Taj Mahal just yet. You know, we're not getting married tomorrow.

Sami: I know, I know.

Austin: Yeah, and we do have some business to take care of first.

Sami: That's true, but you know what? That'll just give us more time to plan, make it extra special.

Austin: See? You see? That is -- that's -- that's looking on the bright side.

Sami: Yeah, well, first order of business is the bridesmaid, the bridal party, in general, and you have all those brothers and Billie, and so obviously Carrie will be my matron of honor and Belle, but, you know, I'd like to have someone else just to even it out and...you know, I was just thinking of who else it could be.

Austin: What about your cousin Stephanie?

Sami: No, what, are you kidding? Of course not.

Austin: I thought you liked her.

Sami: Well, I barely know her. Everybody likes her, and she's too beautiful anyway.

Austin: [Laughs] What? Wait, you're joking, right?

Sami: Okay, no, I'm not joking. I'm serious. Look, when it comes to your wedding, the bride doesn't want to be upstaged by some redheaded, beautiful teenager.

Austin: Sami, FYI -- you are a beautiful woman, and there is no way that anyone could upstage you, and not that you would ever let them.

Sami: Thank you...I think. But in a way, it's kind of true. I mean, women think about these things. Carrie will be standing next to me, and she's certainly beautiful, too, but she'll be pregnant. In fact...really pregnant at that point. So it'll make me look thinner.

Austin: You don't need to look thinner.

Sami: I know who I'm gonna ask.

Austin: Who?

Sami: Just give me one second. I'll be back.

Austin: Sure. [Laughing] I'm not going anywhere.

E.J.: Austin. Winding down after Carrie's wedding, are we?

Austin: Looks that way. You alone, huh? Take a seat.

E.J.: Thank you. Actually, you know what? I'm glad we got a second to ourselves. There's something that I want to talk to you about.

Austin: What is it?

E.J.: Sami.

Chelsea: You honestly think I care who you're meeting here tonight?

Max: I know you were listening to my phone conversation, and you're just dying to find out who that was.

Chelsea: Mildly curious, maybe. Dying to know...sorry, but I don't think so. It's like I said, I'm here to meet my cousin and not to spy on you.

Max: Whatever.

Chelsea: Of course, I do find it interesting how only a few days ago you were interested in only seeing me. But I guess you get over things pretty quick, don't you?

Max: Look, you're the one who shot me down. So why do you even care who I'm seeing? I'm meeting someone. Not a big deal.

Sami: Chelsea, hey, I'm so glad you're here.

Chelsea: Sami -- well, look at that.

Sami: Oh, um, I'm interrupting something.

Max: No, not at all.

Sami: Bye, Uncle Max.

Chelsea: Sami, what do you want?

Sami: I have a proposition for you.

Philip: Hey.

Belle: Hey, how's Claire?

Philip: The sitter said she is sound asleep.

Belle: Oh, good.

Philip: And I ran into Dr. Jaynes. He's the man. He said everything went well with Shawn and Mimi's surrogate. He just finished the embryo-transfer procedure with her.

Belle: Oh, I'm so glad things worked out for them.

[Pager beeping]

Nick: Oh, no.

Kayla: I thought the way you were kissing meant that --

Nick: I like kissing you, Kayla. I like it a lot. That's not the problem..

Kayla: Well, then, what is the problem?

Nick: If we keep doing this, we're gonna drive each other crazy. I need to find out for myself who the hell I am. Until I do that, I don't see the point of much else.

Jennifer: How is he, Lex? Tell me the truth.

Lexie: Jack's dying. He knows it. He's trying to come to terms with that.. Right now, he's probably sifting through old thoughts and memories and trying to reconcile the events in this life. Um...but people at this stage can be very cognizant of what they're going through and what's going on around them.

Jennifer: Okay, so, you think he can hear me?

Lexie: Yes, I do.

Jennifer: Jack. Jack, listen to me. If you can hear me...if you can hear me, don't let go. Don't let go. I need you so much. Please don't let go. Please, if you can hear me... just hang on. Hang on, Jack. [Keyboard keys clicking]

Frankie: Huh. I know it's a long shot. But if it gives Jack a chance...

Austin: Okay [Clears throat] What about Sami?

E.J.: Look, Austin, I'd like to apologize for the way in which I handled things at the reception earlier. Sometimes I can be a little, um...demanding, you know? I do have concerns as a client -- or I did have -- but I certainly didn't mean to step all over your wedding plans with Sami.

Austin: No, you didn’t.

E.J.: Yes, I did. Um, because of me, you've postponed your wedding indefinitely, you know, and judging by the last look I got from Sami, she's not very happy.

Austin: Well, you know, she's happy now. Actually, I should be thanking you. I think it was a blessing in disguise. There's a lot of things that Sami and I need to take care of before we make a major move in our personal lives. Sami has a tendency to be... impatient.

E.J.: Yes, when she wants something --

Austin: She wants it now.

E.J.: That's the feeling I get.

Austin: You're right. I agree with you. Our business is starting to take off, and I owe it to you and our other clients to keep our eye on the ball, you know? And, frankly, all this wedding talk has been a distraction. And I need Sami to focus on business right now. Maybe I should...put her in charge of your account full-time. How would you feel about that?

Chelsea: You must be kidding me. You want me to be in your wedding. I didn't even think you liked me.

Sami: I didn’t. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized I think we have a lot in common.

Chelsea: In what way?

Sami: Everybody hates us. But we're just misunderstood. Am I right? Anyway, I thought about it and I thought maybe us bad-seed Brady girls could get to know each other better and maybe help each other out from time to time. Like, um...for instance, I'd be willing to help you get your boyfriend back.

Chelsea: Max? What makes you think I've lost him?

Sami: That.

Stephanie: Sorry I kept you waiting.

Max: No, well, your dad just kind of came back from the dead, I understand you'd be a little busy. Um, I was surprised you even wanted to come out tonight.

Stephanie: Well, I thought my parents could use some time alone, so this is a cool place. New since I was in Salem.

Max: Dune's a happening spot. You want a drink? Let's get you a drink.

Stephanie: Okay.

Max: Yeah.

Mimi: Lauren seems nice.

Shawn D.: Yeah, yeah, very together, very conscientious.

Mimi: I took it as a good sign that she kicked us out so she could rest, although I wanted to leave five minutes ago.

Shawn D.: Hey, I had a lot of questions, okay? Are you feeling any better now that it's all over?

Mimi: Mm-hmm.

Shawn D.: Did I not tell you everything was gonna be okay?

Mimi: Yeah, you did.

Shawn D.: So, you gonna start listening to me?

Mimi: Mmm...maybe. I'll think about it.

Rhonda: This is Rhonda Bailey. Page Nurse Betty Grainger, stat.

Nick: Kayla, tell me you understand where I'm coming from.

Kayla: To be honest, I don't really.

Nick: Listen...after everything you've been through, I don't want to lead you on. If I don't know who I am, how can we have any kind of meaningful relationship? It wouldn't be fair to you.

Kayla: "Fair"? Do you think this is fair? Spending time with you, wanting you...but not really being able to have you?

Nick: Listen, if...or when we make love, I want to remember you. I want to remember that love you say we shared. I don't want it to be just about sex.

Kayla: It wouldn't be just about sex for me.

Nick: But right now, that's what it's about for me -- just sex.

Kayla: Really?

Nick: Yeah, really. [Sighs] Kayla, I don't want to hurt you. You're a good person. I can see that. And you're a beautiful, sexy woman. And I do want you. But I don't remember you.

Kayla: What if you never do?

Nick: I don't know. But I want to believe...that I will someday.

Kayla: I want to believe that, too. But there are people who have memory loss who never get their memory back. What if you're one of those people? I don't think that I could bear losing you all over again.

Abby: Mom, is dad all right?

Jennifer: Uh...yeah, he's, uh...just resting.

Abby: When I got your message saying I should come home, I was scared.

Jennifer: No, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you.

Lexie: Look, I'm gonna leave and give you some time alone with Jack, okay? Okay.

Jennifer: Lexie, thank you for everything.

Lexie: I wish I could do more.

Abby: Mom, you've been crying.

Jennifer: I just so wish there was something we could do to help your dad. But Lexie and the doctors say it is out of our hands now. So, listen, we need to...we need to accept the fact...that your dad's dying, honey.

Abby: No, look -- as long as dad's still alive, we have hope.

Jennifer: Honey, I know. I want to believe that as much as you do. I really do.

Abby: I know something that will help him. We can pray for him. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Both: Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Frankie: Hank, thank you so much for taking the time. How are you? Good. Well, I'm well, yeah. Listen, um...a friend of mine isn't, which is why I'm calling. I know you're probably swamped, but, look, I've been reading about this clinical trial you're conducting and the success you're having. And I think that my friend might have the same disorder. Uh-huh. Yeah, uh...all right, look, I hear you, okay? The trial is closed. I understand, but can you -- can you please...see what you can do about getting my friend in? Hank, I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important to me. Really? You serious? Oh, man, I can't tell you how much I would appreciate that, really. No, no, I-I -- yeah, sure. You want to talk to the doctor, sure. It's protocol, I understand. Right, you're not gonna believe this. She just walked in. I'll put her on. I owe you big-time, all right? Here -- just --

Lexie: Hello?

Carrie: [Sighs]

Lucas: You...you...you are so amazing.

Carrie: No, we're amazing.

Lucas: You're okay? Everything's cool with the baby?

Carrie: We're great. Actually...if you're not too worn out...

Lucas: Me worn out? Are you sure?

Carrie: I don't need to sleep tonight. There's always the plane ride tomorrow.

Lucas: I love the way you think.

Carrie: Right now, all I want to do...is be with my new husband.

Lucas: Ooh.

Belle: Okay.

Philip: Now hold on one second.

Belle: What?

Philip: I have a little something for you.

Belle: What's that?

Philip: Open it.

Belle: [Laughs] [Gasps] Oh, Philip, this is gorgeous -- an amethyst.

Philip: Mm-hmm. It was my sister Isabella's. My dad thought you should have it since you were named after her.

Belle: That is so sweet of Victor.

Philip: He gave it to Isabella when he found out she was his daughter. He's always told me what a special bond there is between a father and a daughter, and, of course, now I've come to find out myself with Claire, and now we have another one on the way. I love you so much.

Belle: I love you, too.

Betty: Rhonda, I got your page.

Rhonda: I was about to start sterilizing the instruments when I noticed that.

Betty: Oh, my God.

Sami: So, before you gear up to go claw her eyes out, maybe you'll reconsider my offer.

Chelsea: Yeah, sure. I'll be your bridesmaid.

Sami: Cool.

Chelsea: I mean, really, who else would do it?

Stephanie: Thank you.

Max: Thanks.

Chelsea: Ooh! I'm so sorry. Are you okay? Someone bumped into me.

Stephanie: [Laughs] I'm fine. I'm just a little wet.

Chelsea: The club will pay for the dry cleaning.

Stephanie: Thanks. It's really okay. [Laughing] It's really okay. Will you excuse me while I go try and do some damage control?

Max: Yes, yes, of course.

Stephanie: Thank you.

Max: You did that on purpose.

Sami: [Clears throat] Angela, if I may, I was drinking, I think it was the Cabernet.

Angela: Just tell me red or white.

Sami: Okay, fine. It was red.

Angela: It looks like you have a secret admirer.

Nick: There's something you need to hear. I won't leave you and Stephanie.

Kayla: But you wanted to leave since you got here.

Nick: Yeah. I was scared...confused. I still am. But now I feel connected to you...and to that child. And that's got to be worth something. So, if you want me here...

Kayla: You know I do.

Nick: Then I'm not going anywhere. You said I'm a man who doesn't run, right? Fights, right?

Kayla: Right.

Nick: Well, I'm gonna fight for us... if you promise you won't give up on me.

Abby: Mom, I know how hard this is for you. I'm sorry I've been making it even harder.

Jennifer: No. You love your dad. And you were so afraid that I was forgetting him.

Abby: That's no excuse. Dad would be really upset if he knew the way I was treating you and Frankie.

Jennifer: Honey, I know that you didn't mean a lot of the things that you said. I mean, you are such -- such a great daughter. And you want your dad to live. We both want that more than anything.

Abby: I know. But can I ask you a question?

Jennifer: Yeah, of course, honey.

Abby: Don't be mad, but...if dad were to live, I know it would take a miracle, but...if he survived...what would you think about your marriage to Frankie?

Jennifer: Baby, I -- I can't even think about that right now. I'm sorry, but... but what from -- from what Lexie says, I don't think there's any chance of that happening, honey.

Lexie: Frankie, how in the world were you able to arrange this?

Frankie: Sheer luck.

Lexie: You're the most selfless human being I know.

Frankie: Don't pin any medals on me, Lexie. As much as I care about Jack and want him to live, I'm doing this for Jen, too. This is...this is tearing her apart.

Lexie: If this new protocol works and Jack lives...you do realize what will happen, don't you?

Philip: So, how are you two doing?

Shawn D.: Great. Lauren is wonderful. Philip, thank you very much for everything you've done for us.

Philip: Come on, man.

Mimi: What about you, Belle? Do you feel any different?

Belle: You know, Philip keeps asking me the same thing, and, no, I'm not ready to buy another crib yet anyway. I just hope the in vitro works, then I can have another baby with the man that I love.

Betty: This can't be happening. I checked, I double-checked. There's no way I could have mixed up those petri dishes.

Rhonda: You're the one Dr. Jaynes gave them to, correct?

Betty: Yes! I'm sure I put them on the right racks after the procedures. Oh...Dear...Lord, Rhonda. What if the Kiriakis egg was implanted into the Brady surrogate and the Brady egg was implanted in Mrs. Kiriakis?

Rhonda: That's exactly what I'm afraid of.

Betty: Oh, God, no.

Kayla: I'd never give up on you. You should at least know that much about me. And no matter how long it takes, I will do whatever I can to help you remember your past.

Nick: Thanks. That means a lot to me.

Kayla: You don't have to ever thank me. You know, all these years, I never stopped loving you, and I have to believe that someday you're gonna remember me... and how much we loved each other and how much we had to go through to be together.

Chelsea: Max, bumping into that waiter was an accident.

Max: Are you sure about that?

Chelsea: Yes, I am sure. What? You don't actually think I'm jealous, do you? Please, hon, don't flatter yourself.

Stephanie: Well, I won't know till it's dry if it's stained.

Max: Mmm. How'd you get ink on your hand?

Stephanie: Ink?

Max: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: Uh, weird. I have no idea where that came from. Um, maybe some club soda would help.

Max: Uh, one club soda coming right up.

E.J.: Austin, I'm tremendously impressed with your organization, and I think that ours is going to be a very productive partnership. As for Sami handling the account, I, uh....

Austin: She's smart. She's aggressive.

E.J.: Yes, she is.

Austin: You don't have to worry about our wedding getting in the way. You know, we're gonna make sure that the company's hitting all cylinders before we take the plunge.

E.J.: Well, on the other hand, I don't think you ought to leave a woman like Sami hanging around too long. I mean, if you don't tie the knot soon enough, somebody else just might jump in there.

Sami: Who gave you this?

Angela: One of the waiters found it, gave it to the bartender. From the look on your face, I guess it's bad news?

Frankie: I can't think long-term right now. I just want to help, that's all.

Lexie: But you do know that if this treatment is successful --

Frankie: Yeah, I could lose Jennifer, yes, I know.

Lexie: And yet you still want to help.

Frankie: Lexie, she's suffering and he's my friend, so, yes, I've got to do it.

Lexie: Okay, well, I better get to my office and get started on the paperwork. The key to this trial is this new experimental drug. We need to get Jack on it as soon as possible.

Frankie: All right.

Jennifer: What are you talking about? What experimental drug?

Lexie: Uh, well, you're not gonna believe this. Frankie managed to pull some strings and get Jack into this trial that just might be able to save his life.

Jennifer: Oh, my gosh. Are you serious?

Frankie: It's a long shot. Don't get your hopes up, but apparently, this trial has helped a lot of patients who are in the same boat as Jack, so...

Lexie: I better get to my office, and I'll get started.

Jennifer: Lexie, who --

Lexie: I'll call you, okay, once everything is set up, okay?

Frankie: Thank you so much.

Lexie: You're welcome.

Jennifer: Wait, so tell me. Tell me more.

Frankie: I couldn't believe it. Okay, I really couldn’t. Um, okay, this trial, well, it's being conducted by an old friend of mine, and I called in a favor, and he agreed to include Jack.

Jennifer: Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh! How do I thank you for this?

Frankie: There are no guarantees that it'll work, okay?

Jennifer: Wait, but there's a chance. Frankie, two minutes ago, there wasn't even a chance. And now you've given us hope. You've given us hope that Jack might survive. Oh, my gosh.

Hope: It is a miracle, a gift from God after losing Zack.

Bo: This baby is our future.

Shawn D.: If this child does turn out to be my father's, I'm just concerned that he's gonna put even more pressure on her to get back together.

Mimi: Oh, my God. What was that?

Stephanie: I wanted to see if you're really as good as everyone says you are.

Max: So what's the verdict?

Stephanie: I'll have to take you for a test-drive.
