[Grunts] [Exhales sharply]
Sami: You know, you're like Prince Charming. Thank you for making this night so fun for me.
[Camera shutter clicks]
Austin: [Clears throat] Wow. My fiancé, the supermodel.
Austin: [Laughs] Well, remind me to thank E.J. for suggesting that you take Kiara's place.
Sami: I'm just glad it worked out.
Austin: Yeah, yeah, you two look hot together.
Sami: Austin, you don't mind that I hang out with him, right?
Austin: I don't know, Sami. I mean, should I?
Sami: No, I would much rather be with you, but you're busy. And anyway, it's kind of nice, you know? He doesn't know anything about me. It's kind of nice to have a guy friend.
Austin: A guy friend, as opposed to a girlfriend?
Sami: Well, I definitely don't have any of those.
Austin: Well, I mean, I can assume he's probably much more fun to tango with. I got to get ready.
Lucas: Hey, E.J.
E.J.: Hey, Lucas. Good morning.
Lucas: You recover from your little dip in the river?
E.J.: It was very refreshing, thank you.
Lucas: Refreshing. I don't know about refreshing in that water. Sami likes to be rescued. You look like a nice guy, so I'll tell you a secret.
Lexie: [Sobbing] Good morning, sweetheart. Did you have a good breakfast? Yeah? Okay, good.
Abe: Theo's got to get dressed. Grandma's gonna be here soon, and she said she's gonna take you to the park.
Theo: Why can't you take me?
Abe: Well, mommy and -- mommy and I have to go to a wedding.
Lexie: Come on. I'll get him dressed. Come on sweetheart.
Abe: I can do it. Let's go, son. Come on. Let's go, big guy. Yeah. [Doorbell rings]
Celeste: Oh, Alexandra, what a beautiful day for a wedding. Darling, what is it?
Lexie: Abe knows about Tek and me.
Max: Whoa, whoa, bro, what are you doing here?
Frankie: I had to get my tux.
Max: I could have gotten that for you. You got to get out of here before Jen sees you.
Frankie: So what if she does?
Max: It's bad luck to see the bride on the wedding day, man. Let's go. Come on.
Frankie: We haven't seen each other since last night. I'm sure she misses me.
Max: Whoa. Last night?
Max: I thought you were staying at the pub last night.
Frankie: I did. I brought her some flowers. Oh, come on, that superstition only applies on the day of the wedding. I don't believe it, and I'm not gonna let some old wives' tale ruin the best day of my life.
Nick: He wakes. Hey, Salem's coming up. How you feeling?
Jack: I feel tired. How long did I sleep again?
Nick: Oh, you slept a good long while. You needed it.
Jack: I wasn't snoring, was I?
Nick: Mmm...no, no snoring. You actually looked pretty content for a dying man -- maybe because you're gonna see your wife and kiddies, huh?
Jack: Yeah. Even if it is for a short time, it's something to look forward to, huh? Then again, I'm not the only one who's gonna be seeing his wife. Once we figure out where Kayla is, you'll be having a special reunion of your own.
Kayla: Well, that was quick.
Jennifer: My hair's set. Now I need, um --
Kayla: You need to sit down and have something to eat.
Jennifer: I don't have to eat, Kayla.
Kayla: You need something in your stomach. The last thing you want to do is faint at the altar. Do you understand me?
Jennifer: Yes, ma'am.
Kayla: It's doctor to you. I'm gonna get those eggs.
Jennifer: Okay. Good morning, girls.
Chelsea: Good morning, Mrs. Deveraux -- uh --
Jennifer: Oh, that's okay. It's all right. It's still Deveraux.
Abby: Not for long.
Jennifer: I, um... I left your dress on your bed for you. Honey, I wish that you could be as happy about today as I am, really.
Abby: I'm gonna go get dressed.
Jennifer: Um, do you think that, um, I could bring this upstairs with me? I need to talk to my daughter.
Kayla: Of course. Hello, Chelsea.
Kayla: It's good to see you again. We didn't really get a chance to talk yesterday, so maybe we can get to know each other at the reception later.
Chelsea: Are you sure you want to do that?
Kayla: Why wouldn't I?
Chelsea: 'Cause practically everyone in this family hates me. I mean, why should you be any different?
Kayla: I doubt that anybody hates you. I know that my brother doesn't hate you. And, you know, from what I can see, my little brother Max certainly doesn't hate you.
Chelsea: Max is a good guy.
Kayla: Yeah, he is. And if he cares about you so much, then I would think that you're a pretty special person. I'm gonna go help Jennifer.
Chelsea: What's that?
Waiter: For the wedding.
Waiter: Yeah, for starters. I'll be back with the rest of the order.
Chelsea: Take your time.
Kayla: Oh, my God. It's really you.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.
Max: We better get the show on the road. Pop's gonna be here any second. We can get a ride with him or something.
Frankie: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up a second, chief. Now, listen, things are finally working out for me, right?
Frankie: What about you? I mean, maybe it's time for you to find someone..
Max: How do you know I haven't already found her, hmm?
Chelsea: Sorry, Max. I know you wouldn't approve, but I won't be able to make it through this stupid wedding today otherwise.
Jo: I haven't changed that much, have I?
Kayla: No, you look wonderful, Jo.
Kayla: Oh, come in, please.
Jo: Oh! When you called and said you were in town, I -- how could I stay away?
Kayla: I am so glad to see you. You're here for Jennifer's wedding, too, right?
Jo: Well, of course I am. You know how I feel about both my daughters-in-law. Though I won't deny, it's gonna be hard seeing my son's widow marrying another man. But Jennifer and the children need my support right now.
Kayla: I think Abby, especially.
Jo: Yes. She and Jack were so close. Well, at least it's a happy occasion that's bringing us together. Oh, Kayla, it's great to see you again.
Kayla: Well, I'm only here for a couple of days. I have to get back. I'm planning this medical trip to Africa, but we'll have a chance to catch up.
Kayla: Yeah, they need doctors and nurses in Darfur, and I'm hoping to work in a clinic there.
Jo: Oh, that's wonderful, Kayla.
Kayla: I just want to help.
Jo: How's Stephanie?
Kayla: You know, she's great. She's beautiful, and she's smart. And she's independent, and she's into a million things. You wouldn't even believe it.
Jo: Vern and I were planning to travel out to L.A. to see the two of you, but his mother got sick.
Kayla: I'm sorry.
Jo: She lives in Chicago, and Vern's been traveling back and forth a lot.. He wanted me to tell you -- he's so sorry he couldn't be here today.
Jennifer: [Gasps] Hey!
Abby: Grandma Jo, I'm so glad you're here!
Jo: Oh, Abby!
Jennifer: Oh, we're both so glad you're here. Thank you. Thank you so much for being here for us today.
Jo: Jennifer, I am so happy for you.
Jennifer: Thank you so much. And I'm sorry I'm in such a panic, but I need help with my dress, Kayla. I got to get it in the bag so it doesn't wrinkle. I don't want to mess it up.
Kayla: We're gonna catch up.
Jo: Go ahead. You must have a million things to do.
Abby: Grandma, I'm not so happy about mom marrying Frankie.
Jo: Honey, I know how much you love your father. I miss him, too.
Abby: I just don't get it. Why is she marrying someone so soon?
Jo: Abby, as much as we wish it were different, your dad's not here anymore. And you're almost a woman now. And your mother's still young. She needs your support.
Abby: Yeah, well, I tried, and I can't fake it.
Jo: Don't you like Frankie?
Abby: He's a nice guy, and I know that he loves my mom.
Jo: Then why can't you be happy for her?
Abby: Because it's wrong. I just can't accept their marriage, and I never will.
Alice: Oh, you're making a mistake, dear -- one that I'm afraid you'll live to regret.
Jack: [Sighs] I've been thinking.
Nick: Yeah, about what?
Jack: What a shock this is gonna be for Jennifer -- tell her that I'm alive...again.
Nick: Well, from what you've told me about her, I think she'll be jumping for joy.
Jack: I just don't want to freak her out -- her or anybody else in Salem.. You'd think I'd know how to do this by now. You got a cellphone? I want to give her a call.
Nick: Well, you don't think hearing your voice is gonna be a shock to her?
Jack: Hey, listen to me. It's a hell of a lot better than just talking to her on the front porch, trust me.
Nick: All right, it's your choice, dude. [Cellphone dialing]
Jack: Trust me. [Telephone rings]
Chelsea: Deveraux residence. Hello?
Jack: Hello, who's this?
Chelsea: Who's this?
Jack: It's Jack. I need to speak to Jennifer.
Bo: Hey, Fancy Face. Wake up. Hope? Hey. You okay, huh?
Hope: I feel a little queasy.
Bo: Yeah, you look kind of pale. Come on. Let's go inside. You all right? Man, I didn't know you stayed out here all night. I got a bagel. I can heat up some coffee.
Hope: No, please. No, no. Don't get food. I'm not hungry.
Bo: No, no, no. I -- I'm sorry I don't have more. I can give you this bagel. I'll start the coffee.
Hope: Don't bother. Don't bother. I need to get home. Oh, my God. Did you forget today's Jen's wedding?
Bo: No, no, I didn't forget. Hope, what are you doing here? Why did you sleep in the chair outside?
Hope: I don't know. I just couldn't leave you.
Carrie: Don't listen to him, E.J. Lucas has issues with my sister.
Lucas: Wait a minute, Carrie. Like you don't?
Carrie: I did. It's in the past.
E.J.: Look, I really appreciate your concern, but I'm a big boy. I think I can just about take care of myself. Isn't that right, Samantha? Sami! Hi.
Sami: Hi. [Clears throat]
Lucas: Why don't you ask your sister how long she's been eavesdropping, huh? Just the kind of behavior you can expect from your new friend/neighbor -- a lot of spying, scheming.
Sami: In answer to your question, I've been listening long enough to be reminded of what a complete and utter jerk you are.
Lucas: Thank you very much.
Sami: You're very welcome.
Lucas: Very sweet of you.
Carrie: Why don't you go get something to eat and then change for the wedding, okay? Go on.
[Sighs] What about you, Sami? Aren't you going?
Sami: No, I'm not gonna go.
Austin: Yes, she is.
Celeste: Darling, I warned you this would happen. All right, I'm sorry. Darling, look, I wish I could help you.
Lexie: Abe says that he's going to file for a divorce. Not only that -- he's going to sue for custody of Theo. What am I gonna do, huh?
Celeste: All right, how did Abraham find out?
Abe: Someone sent me a note. Can you believe that? I found out my wife was cheating on me from a damn note.
Frankie: Okay, let me guess. [Clears throat] This girl you're talking about -- it's Chelsea, isn't it?
Max: Yeah. I asked her what she thought of the two of us seeing each other -- you know, just each other.
Frankie: Really? That's great.
Max: I know you don't think very highly of her. It's just --
Frankie: Look, look, do I think that, you know, she could use some guidance, a sense of purpose, maybe? Yes, absolutely. I guess she's -- she's got potential, right? I mean, hey, especially with a guy like you by her side, so...
Max: The thing is, I don't know if she's all that into me.
Frankie: [Scoffs] Please.
Max: No, she didn't say no, but she didn't say yes, either.
Frankie: Yeah, right.
Max: No, I -- seriously, Frankie, I... I don't know. I just don't think that, uh... I think I found someone who's not all that into me.
Frankie: Man, you really are in love with her, aren't you?
Max: Why do you think I put up with it?
Frankie: I --
Shawn: What's going on? I've been waiting out front forever.
Frankie: I'm sorry, Pop. We were just -- you know, we were just messing around, that's all.
Shawn: Well, save it, huh? This is your wedding day, son.
Frankie: Okay, okay.
Max: Let's go.
Frankie: You look great, by the way.
Max: Good tie, there. Dad, let's go. Come on.
Chelsea: You expect me to believe that this is Jack, as in Jack Deveraux, as in my best friend Abby's father, who, by the way, is dead?
Jack: Yes, Chelsea. Strange but true. Now, please, I need to speak to my wife. Please, get me Jennifer.
Chelsea: Jennifer's busy right now, but, hey, I can take a message if you can spell your name for me.
Jack: Just -- just tell her that I'm on my way home and I'm bringing Steve Johnson with me.
Nick: Oh, no, man. Damn.
Chelsea: Like, my Aunt Kayla's husband, the guy that looks like Johnny Depp in "Pirates of the Caribbean," only blond?
Chelsea: I thought he was dead, too.
Jack: [Sighs] Look, it's a long story, but you'll hear it all when I get back there. Just tell Jennifer I'm on my way -- we're on our way.
Chelsea: Okay, look, whoever this is, I've heard enough, okay? This is really sick.
Abby: Who was that?
Chelsea: A crank call.
Abby: What did they want?
Chelsea: Um, just be glad you didn't answer it, okay? Look, Abby, there are a lot of sick people in the world.
Abby: Yeah, well, I guess I can't put this off any longer. You know what? I'm gonna go upstairs and do my hair and get dressed, and then we'll go to the church.
Chelsea: Yeah, well, just in case that psycho calls back.
Nick: Man, why'd you have to say the thing about Steve Johnson? Who is this Chelsea, anyway?
Jack: She's this friend of Abigail's. I mean, she wouldn't even believe it was me. She hung up on me. Damn it. The line's still busy.
Nick: Guess it looks like everybody's gonna have to be surprised, huh?
We will return for the second half of "Days of our Lives" in just a moment.
Bo: So, are you willing to give us another chance? Is that why you didn't leave last night?
Hope: I don't know. The things that you said -- part of me wants to believe that they're true. The other part of me thinks I'd be crazy to.
Bo: I am sorry. And you got to know, you're the last person in the world I would want to hurt. Will you forgive me? Will you not close the door on us?
Hope: Look, I can't think about that right now. I'm Jen's matron of honor, and I can't miss the wedding.
Bo: Yeah, well, don't worry about that. I'll get you back in time, but promise me we'll talk about this again.
Hope: I'll think about it. I can't promise you anything. Look, I can't even think straight right now. I'm gonna miss her wedding. Please, let's go.
Bo: That's a step in the right direction.
Hope: I'll grab the spark plugs.
Sami: I'm not going to the wedding, Austin. I don't want to go. They don't want me there.
Austin: It's the right thing to do, and you know it, okay? Just please, for me, go get ready.
Sami: Aye aye, Captain. [Indistinct conversation] [Door slams]
Austin: Hey, E.J., you want to come and look at the photos from the shoot we did yesterday? They look great.
E.J.: Yeah, I'd love to. Let me just get changed. I'll be two seconds.
Lucas: You know, I'd like to take a look at those photos if it's all right with you.
Carrie: Yeah, me too. Is that okay?
Lucas: Whoo! Steamy!
Carrie: Let's see.
Lucas: Oh, these are incredible. Incredible. Not half bad.
Lucas: I don't want to worry you, big guy, but there's some serious chemistry going on between these two.
Abe: Somebody knew where my adulterous wife was last night and who she was with.
Celeste: Darling, listen, I know exactly how you're feeling right now, but I know Alexandra loves you.
Abe: Stop it, Celeste. This is between Lexie and me.
Celeste: Where's my grandson?
Abe: He's upstairs in his room.
Celeste: I'll go keep him company.
Lexie: Abe, honey, if you'd please just let me explain.
Abe: This farce of a marriage is over.
Lexie: It doesn't have to be. Please.
Abe: It's late. I've got to get to Frankie and Jennifer's wedding.
Lexie: Uh, well, uh, can I at least ride with you over to the church?
Abe: If you need a ride, call your lover. I still love looking at her.
Frankie: All right. Right through there, Pop.
Frankie: What's up? You coming?
Max: Yeah, in a minute.
Max: Yeah. You both look great.
Abby: Hey, Max. Um, you know what? I'm gonna go inside to see if my mom needs any help.
Abby: Be nice. Don't blow it.
Max: So... you given any thought to what we talked about -- you know, just us seeing each other?
Chelsea: I've had a lot on my mind.
Max: That's fine. No, I mean, if you're not into it, that's cool.
Chelsea: I didn't say that.
Max: Look, I know you're really young still, and I know you want to date other people, maybe. I understand.
Chelsea: Max, I don't -- I don't know what I want right now. Can you just -- can you give me time to figure it out or something?
Max: Sure. I got to go get ready, though. I'll see you later.
Bo: Hey, Chelsea.
Hope: I should let Jennifer know that I'm here.
Chelsea: So, are you and Hope back together?
Bo: Well, not yet, but we're making progress. Things are looking up.
Jennifer: Thank you for hanging that up for me.
Caroline: Hello, hello. I brought my sewing kit just in case there's an emergency.
Jennifer: Thanks, Caroline. The dress fits fine. Thank you.
Caroline: I can't wait to see you in it.
Jennifer: Oh, I know. I guess it's almost time, huh?
Kayla: Have you seen Hope?
Kayla: You haven't heard from her at all today?
Hope: I am so sorry I'm late. I'm so sorry.
Kayla: We were just talking about you. Are you all right?
Hope: Well, you can blame it on your brother because he kidnapped me.
Jennifer: Did I hear right?
Hope: Yeah, you heard right. He thought it was the only way he would get me to hear him out.
Kayla: That certainly sounds like my brother.
Caroline: You look a little tired. Are you okay?
Hope: I'm fine.
Jennifer: I just want to know -- did you hear him out?
Hope: We talked. I don't want to say anything more than that. Right now it is your wedding, and it's about you -- all about you.
Alice: Oh, now, where's the bride? [Gasps]
Hope: Oh, Jen.
Alice: Oh, my dear. You look stunning.
Maggie: Yes, you do. Jack has to be smiling down from heaven.
Jennifer: Well, I hope so, because this wedding was his idea. That's why I'm asking him to give me away.
Nick: Next exit -- Salem. Then you'll be home.
Jack: Correction -- we'll be home.
Austin: Of course E.J. and Sami look fantastic. Let's not forget, the photographer's amazing. He's a pro. Let's give him some credit.
Carrie: Oh, Lucas, you have to admit, Austin has a winner there, and Sami looks sensational.
Sami: Did I hear my name?
Austin: And she looks fantastic in person. Wow, look at you.
Sami: Oh. Thank you, honey.
Carrie: Lucas, would you please go change? I don't want to be late to the church, please.
Lucas: Yeah, yeah, I'll go get something on right now.
Lucas: Austin, I'm really impressed with these pictures, man -- I am. Good luck with that campaign.
Austin: Thanks, Lucas.
Sami: Unbelievable. Why was he even looking at the pictures?
E.J.: Have you seen these? You look incredible. You just look incredibly natural.
Carrie: Anyone can see how much you love Sami and how much she loves you, too.
Austin: It's not how I hoped things would turn out, but I'm happy.
Carrie: It shows.
Austin: Yeah, well, you know, everything just kind of turned around when I realized that you just have to let Sami be Sami, you know? Hey and I know you're gonna laugh. But I do -- I really think that her trouble-making days are behind us.
Celeste: Oh, darling, I wish you had told Abraham yourself, like you were planning to.
Lexie: I know. I know. It would have been much easier on Abe if he'd heard it from me.
Celeste: Yeah, instead of an anonymous note. And I can imagine who would do such a thing.
Lexie: Yeah, Sami Brady.
Celeste: Yeah. Samantha would sink that low.
Celeste: But, now, darling, I thought she said she wasn't going to say anything as long as you didn't undermine her relationship with Austin, and you didn’t.
Lexie: Well, now that is exactly what I'm going to do, tell what she's done.
Lexie: Sami cost me my marriage, and now I'm in jeopardy of losing my son, Mom.
Celeste: Let's pray that it doesn't come to that.
Lexie: No, no, you pray. I'm gonna make sure Sami knows what it feels like to lose someone she loves. In fact, she's not just going to lose one person. She's going to lose everybody close to her. I just hope she's at that wedding. [Cartoon music plays on television]
Celeste: [Sighs] I see a major realignment in the fates. [Gasps] Oh! Oh, Alexandra! I fear you and Abraham aren't the only poor souls in Salem that's going to be affected by all of this. Oh!
E.J.: This one. You're beautiful.
Sami: Thank you.
Carrie: Well, it looks like you figured out the secret of living with Sami Brady.
Austin: Which is?
Carrie: Acceptance. She is who she is. And she might be trying to change a few things, but, basically, she'll always be Sami.
Austin: Yeah, yeah, I just hope she'll let me help her when things go wrong in her life. That's why I think it's important at she go to Frankie and Jennifer's wedding. She's a part of that family.
Lucas: Well, that's a bad move, bro.
Austin: Well, look at you, Lucas. You're looking sharp. What do you mean, "bad move"?
Lucas: You know weddings and Sami don't mix. She better not ruin my sister's wedding.
E.J.: I'd accept it gratefully.
Caroline: Okay. All set.
Kayla: All right, I think we better get to our seats.
Caroline: Oh. Oh, yeah. I guess it's about time.
Kayla: Good luck.
Jennifer: Thank you.
Kayla: I'm with you.
Hope: We'll see you out there.
Jennifer: Hope... okay, how do I look? My hair, my mascara. You know, all these happy tears. I don't want to look like a raccoon.
Hope: Jen, you look absolutely beautiful -- stunning. When Frankie sees you come down the aisle, well, I just hope his heart can take it.
Jennifer: I love you so much.
Hope: I love you, too. I love you so much, Jen. And remember -- remember, this is your day, so you enjoy every second of it.
Nick: All right, so, why'd you tell me to pull in here, Jackson? And don't tell me your wife decided to become a nun after you died.
Jack: Uh, no, I hope not. Actually, this church is -- this is where you and Kayla got married -- remarried, actually.
Jack: Yeah, it's a long story, but you don't want to hear it right now, anyway. Does it look at all familiar?
Nick: No. Nice church, but, no, not really.
Jack: Looks like something's going on in there. Maybe we want to check it out.
Lexie: Oh, Sami, where are you? I can't wait to find you. This is the day you get to kiss Austin goodbye.
Jo: I know this isn't easy for you, honey, but it's good you're here to support your mom.
Abby: Well, I hope they don't get the idea that I'm supporting what they're doing. I don't care what anyone says. My mom should not be getting married this soon.
Caroline: Oh, he looks so happy, Shawn. This is a day that's been a long time coming.
Shawn: You know, after everything that's happened, Frankie finally wound up with the woman that he's always loved. Yeah, I guess it was meant to be, huh?
Chelsea: Hi, grandpa.
Shawn: Oh, hi. How are you?
Chelsea: Okay. Thank you.
Bo: Looking forward to our talk later. You look beautiful. I'm gonna go find my seat. Hi.
Bo: Be happy. And you look amazing.
Jennifer: Thank you. You do know how much he loves you.
Hope: Today we are here to celebrate your marriage to Frankie. All other subjects are off-limits. Understand? Okay, coz, you ready?
Jennifer: Yes, I'm ready.
Hope: I love you.
Jennifer: I love you.
Hope: Okay, this is it.
Jack: Come on, just -- let's just walk around a little bit and check it out, see if it jogs your memory.
Nick: You're not fooling me, Jackson.
Jack: Fooling you? What are you talking about?
Nick: We're not here because of me. Now that we're finally in Salem, you're getting cold feet about seeing your wife.
Jack: Well, yes, maybe I'm a little nervous, but I'm coming back from the dead, just like you are.
Nick: Yeah, but I don't remember anything or anyone.
Jack: Well, trust me, they're gonna remember both of us for both of us. And after talking to Chelsea, I just realized how shocked everyone's gonna be.
Nick: Really? Well, we don't really need to be here, man. Really let's get out here.
Jack: Just -- just humor me. I just -- all right, I need to light a candle, say a little prayer or something.
Nick: Okay, I guess a little prayer couldn't hurt. Let's do it.
Jack: [Sighs] Jennifer, I'm gonna see you soon.
["Trumpet voluntary" plays]
Jennifer: Wish me luck, Jack.
Tek: You're going down, Sami.
Tek: Lexie's gonna blow you out of the water right here in front of everybody.
Bo: She's gonna come back to me. I know it.
Jennifer: I am yours, and I am going to love you all the days of our lives.
