Shawn D.: Wow. I cannot believe this -- how quickly we were able to find a surrogate.
Mimi: Neither can I.
Shawn D.: Yeah, Holly seems great, and she's definitely healthy. She doesn't drink or smoke. That's a good thing. And she takes care of her body. She's gonna take care of the baby.
Holly: Here are the forms. I just want to tell you again how thrilled and honored I am to be able to help you have a family.
Shawn D.: Thank you.
Holly: You're going to be wonderful parents. I just know it.
Shawn D.: Yeah, well, I guess our lawyer is now gonna be contacting you to draw up a contract, so...
Holly: Thank you, both of you. I'll see you soon.
Shawn D.: Okay. Take care. Wow. Well, she seems nice. And, uh... you okay?
Shawn D.: No, you're not. Look, we can interview other people if you're not okay with this. Or we can just put this whole thing off and wait.
Mimi: Shawn, I want to have this baby. It's just a little weird.
Shawn D.: With all the ups and downs that we've had lately, I totally understand. It's hard to get our hopes up, but this is gonna happen for us. Okay? You're gonna have a baby.
Belle: Shawn and Mimi want a baby so badly. I hope it happens for them soon.
Philip: I hope it happens for us again, too.
Belle: It will.
Philip: Belle, I just don't understand this. I mean, if the test says that I have low sperm motility, then why was it so easy for us to get pregnant the first time? It doesn't even make sense.
Belle: Actually, maybe it does.
Lexie: No, wait. Wait, stop. No, Tek, Tek, I mean it. I mean it. If someone finds out we're here, they could tell Abe. If he found out, he'd be devastated. I could lose Theo..
Tek: That's not gonna happen. Not tonight anyway. This is our little secret.
Lexie: No, Sami knows. She could tell. Then what?
[Tango music plays]
Sami: [Clears throat] That photo shoot went really well.
E.J.: It was having you next to me that made it easy.
Sami: Well, thank you for coming out with me tonight. I was dreading being alone while everyone else was at Jennifer and Frankie's party.
E.J.: Yeah, why, exactly was it -- I don't understand -- that you couldn't go there?
Sami: Well, no, I guess I could have. I mean, it's not like they would have thrown me out -- at least I don't think they would have. Anyway, it's just that my family and, well, for that matter, most of Salem -- I'm kind of like the bad seed.
E.J.: I find that very hard to believe.
Sami: Thank you. [Chuckles] You know, I have this fantasy of being able to go back in time and redo every mistake I've ever made, and then I would come back to now and have a ton of friends and be the life of every party. I guess that's kind of stupid.
E.J.: I don't think so. Why don't we have our own party? Tonight.
Kate: To Frankie and Jennifer.
Austin: [Chuckles] Hey, to Frankie and Jennifer! [All cheering] [ Chuckles]
Kate: So, where's Sami? Don't tell me the two of you are having problems already.
Austin: Don't gloat. No. FYI, she's not exactly everyone's favorite Brady. She didn't want to come and spoil Frankie and Jennifer's night.
Kate: Wow. That is unusually considerate of her.
Austin: Don't start.
Kate: What do you mean? That's a compliment. Though, I have to say, I hope that you're considering the ramifications of being involved with someone who's everyone's least favorite Brady.
Austin: I don't care. I love her. And I've said this a million times, and I'll say it a million more -- she's changed. She really has. Sooner or later, everyone's gonna see it.
Kate: And if they don't?
Austin: That is their problem.
Kate: I don't want to see you hurt again.
Austin: The only way I'm gonna get hurt is if you sabotage my relationship.
Kate: I wouldn't dream of that. [Thinking] Sami's going to do that all by herself.
Abe: You know, I have this dream that Lexie and I will be at a party, and she won't be paged by the hospital.
Billie: Oh, no, Murphy's Law. Because that'll be the night that you get paged to go to the police station, right?
Abe: Yeah, you're probably right. [Chuckles]
Billie: Bo's drinking a lot.
Abe: Yeah. Do you blame him?
Billie: I hate what's happening between him and Hope.
Billie: Yes, really. I love him, Abe. I love him so much that I want him to be with the woman he belongs with, and that's Hope.
Abe: You know, not many people would be that selfless.
Billie: [Chuckles] Yeah, well, I wasn't selfless in the past. You know that. I just wish my daughter could learn a little bit from me, you know?
Abe: Yeah, that was quite a scene she had with Hope.
Billie: Oh, my God. Can you believe it? She shows up here -- drunk, no less. Thank God that Max and Abby got her out of here before it was too late, because God knows she wouldn't listen to me.
Abe: Unfortunately, the damage had already been done.
Patrick: Hey, mind if I join you?
Billie: Patrick, you should not be here tonight.
Patrick: Well, Jennifer's my friend.
Billie: Yeah, but Bo is here. And if he sees you, he's gonna go ballistic.
Bo: Need a couple more beers here.
Frankie: No, we don’t. You have definitely had enough.
Bo: No -- yeah, I have had enough...enough of Lockhart. What the hell is he doing --
Frankie: Oa, no, take it easy, chief. Come on, this is a party, right? It's a party, okay? We've already had enough drama. Why don't you focus on me? Come on, I'm the guy getting married here, right?
Bo: Yeah, you, the groom. I'm sorry. You and Jen -- you're gonna make her happy. She's a great lady you got there.
Frankie: I hope so. I really do.
Bo: You will.
Frankie: I can hardly believe it. I can't even believe that I'm staying upstairs in my old room.
Bo: Lot of memories up there, huh?
Frankie: You can say that again. I know they just left and everything, and it's only for one night...I miss her.
Bo: Yeah, I know. I miss Hope every night.
Frankie: I'm sorry. I didn't mean --
Bo: No, it's all right. It's just -- I got to stop her from getting this divorce. First I got to prove that I had nothing to do with switching that evidence.
Frankie: It's not gonna be easy.
Bo: No, it's not, but... I love her. I can't let her get away from me.
Jennifer: You got all of those? Thank you so much for helping me bring them all back here.
Hope: You didn't need my help.
Jennifer: Of course I did.
Hope: No, it was just an excuse to get me away from Chelsea and Bo.
Jennifer: That is not true.
Hope: And I am grateful. Thank you. Okay, open the door. These are heavy..
Jennifer: Let me get my arms organized here. [Laughter] I made out, huh?
Hope: Yes, you did. You got so many beautiful gifts.
Jennifer: You know what, Kayla? It would not have been the same without you there. I just want you to know that.
Kayla: I'm so glad I came. And you deserve this. I'm so happy for you and for Frankie. You need another second chance at happiness.
Hope: We all do.
Kayla: No, Hope, you don’t. You still have Bo.
Hope: No, it's too late for that.
Kayla: No, it's not too late. Your husband is here, and he's alive.
Jennifer: You know, it is so strange to think that Jack and Steve are both gone.
Hope: No. No, they're not.
Jack: Look, you're gonna be glad that you went back to Salem. I'm telling you. First, you let everyone know you're alive, then you're gonna remember who you are, Kayla, your daughter.
Dr. Butler: Okay, Jack, I need you to stop talking. Just take some deep breaths.
Nick: No, he never stops talking.
Jack: Right. Sorry you're gonna be short an orderly, doc.
Nick: And a patient. You're not backing out.
Jack: No, no, no. I said I'm going, and I'm going. Uh, if you think I'm good enough.
Dr. Butler: Actually, I think a trip would do wonders.
Nick: Are you saying this might help him beat this thing?
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.
Hope: Steve and Jack are both still here in spirit, and they always will be.
Kayla: Well, you're right about that.
Hope: Hey, Steve watches over you, and I know Jack watches over you.
Jennifer: I think it's just with the wedding. I'm just thinking about Jack more than usual.
Kayla: Yeah, same with me about Steve. I think it's just being back here in Salem. It's so tough.
Jack: Are you saying you think I might be cured?
Dr. Butler: I'm sorry. What I meant was going home to family and friends might do wonders for you, emotionally. It's important that you and your loved ones have a chance to say goodbye.
Jack: Well, on that note, I should just get dressed.
Nick: I'll help you, dude.
Dr. Butler: I'll arrange for your release papers and your meds, and I'll get a copy of your file over to your doctor in Salem.
Jack: Thanks, doc. Thanks for everything.
Dr. Butler: I'm sorry I couldn't do more.
Nick: This all you have?
Jack: Uh [Chuckles] Well, you know, these days, I believe in traveling light. I'm telling you. I can't wait for us to get back to Salem. We're gonna go walking into that Brady Pub, and they're never gonna believe it. Never.
Bo: I will not lose Hope, especially not to that son of a bitch Lockhart.. Lockhart, if you're here to see my wife, you're too late. She's gone.
Patrick: She's not gonna be your wife much longer. She's never gonna forgive you for destroying the evidence that would have convicted Chelsea.
Bo: You're the one who destroyed the evidence so you could steal my wife from me.
Frankie: Come on, let's go back to the bar.
Bo: Stay away from my wife.
Abe: Look, Patrick, can I trust you to leave Bo alone?
Patrick: Yeah, you have my word. I'm gonna stand right here and talk to Billie.
Abe: I'm gonna call my wife, see how long she'll be.
Billie: Thank you for backing down.
Patrick: Bo has a hell of a nerve accusing me of switching that disc. It's his keycard in the computer log. It's his face on the surveillance tape.
Billie: He didn't do it! He's innocent.
Abe: What do you mean Dr. Carver's not there? You paged her. She didn't? Are you sure?
Tek: Sami's not gonna tell anyone about us because she knows you'll tell everyone she blackmailed you into lying to Carrie. Austin would never forgive her. I mean, she made Carrie believe that any child she had with him would be born with birth defects.
Lexie: No, no, Tek. I made Carrie believe that. Because of my lies, Carrie chose Lucas instead of Austin. Now she's pregnant with Lucas' baby. I'm lying to Abe. I'm sick of this, Tek. I've got to stop -- the lying, the adultery, all of it. I have to -- I have to find the strength to tell the truth about Sami, no matter what.
Sami: I have a fiancé, E.J.
E.J.: Yes, I know that. I meant we could go and have some fun as friends..
Sami: As long as we're clear.
E.J.: I'm clear. You clear?
Sami: Perfectly. Definitely perfectly cl-- um, wow. What's going -- are they tango dancing? That is so cool! Austin learned how to tango dance when he was in New York, and I would love to learn how and kind of surprise him at our wedding or something.
E.J.: Then I think this is your lucky night.
Sami: Why do you say that?
E.J.: I did a racing season in Buenos Aires, and I had a little involvement with a lady there who happened to be one of Argentina's top tango dancers.
Sami: That doesn't surprise me.
E.J.: She showed me a few of her special moves, too.
Sami: So are you gonna teach me?
Patrick: Why shouldn't I blame Bo? He's the only one with the motivation and opportunity to destroy that evidence.
Kate: I didn't do it just for Chelsea, I did it for you.
Billie: Oh, please.
Kate: Oh, come on, Billie. I know you love Bo, and if you're not gonna do anything about it, then I'm forced to.
Patrick: Bo should be punished just like any other criminal.
Billie: He said he didn't do it, and I believe him.
Patrick: Innocent until proven guilty.
Billie: You didn't have any problem when I applied that theory to you.
Patrick: "Theory," huh?
Billie: You know what I mean.
Patrick: What is this really about, Billie? What, are you standing by Bo to show him he should be with you instead of Hope?
Billie: I will not do anything to come between Bo and Hope and neither should you.
Tek: If you expose what Sami did, she's gonna tell Abe and everyone about us. You understand? So before you set into motion something you can't stop, you'd better be sure who you want to be with, so it's your choice, and not Sami's.
Lexie: Every time I think I'm sure, Tek, I just -- I just let myself get all confused. I just hate this.
Tek: I know, but I'm here for you. I love you.
Tek: I just want to make you happy. You're so special to me... and so beautiful.
Abe: Well, I tried her on her cellphone. She didn't answer. [Sighs] Well, when she checks in, tell her to call her husband. Thank you. [Sighs]
Patrick: Look, we're both in the same position here. You love Bo too much to come between him and Hope. And I care about Hope too much to take advantage of her when she's vulnerable.
Billie: You didn't feel that way on Morgan Island.
Patrick: Hope turned to me. I'm not gonna pursue her, but if she needs me, I'm not gonna turn my back on her, either.
Billie: Because you're hoping you'll end up together.
Patrick: No, because she's my friend.
Billie: I got a news flash for you, "friend." Been there, done that. No matter how many times Bo and Hope break up, they always get back together, so save yourself the heartache. Quit now while you're ahead.
Kate: [Sighs] [Thinking] Sometimes I can't believe you're my daughter.
Bo: Lockhart's got to be the one who made it look like I tampered with evidence so Hope would be upset with me. I'm not gonna let him worm his way into her life.
Frankie: You pull another stupid stunt like that and she finds out, she's gonna blame you, and that's probably what he wants.
Bo: Listen to me. He -- you know what? She's my wife.
Frankie: Bo...she signed the divorce papers.
Bo: You didn't stop her?
Frankie: I gave her advice. She chose not to take it. Beyond that, ethically, legally, what can I do? I'm her lawyer. I'm sorry.
Bo: And you're my brother. What the -- Frankie, you got to help me stop her from going through with this divorce and destroying both our lives.
Nick: Ooh, almost there.
Jack: [Exhales deeply] You were right to make me do this. I can't wait to see Jennifer, Abigail, Jack Jr. [Wheezing] That's assuming I make it another half-hour.
Nick: You're gonna make it, dude.
Jack: Just promise me one thing.
Jack: If I don't make it, don't deliver a dead body. Just dump me on the lawn.
Nick: No way.
Jack: I mean, I've made them mourn enough. It'd be different if actually we were gonna see each other and spend some time together.
Nick: Man, I promise, all right? Besides, it's not gonna be an issue. You're gonna see them. Hey, listen, I want you to tell me a little more about this wife I supposedly have.
Jack: Oh, Kayla?
Nick: Yeah, Kayla.
Jack: Uh, she's...beautiful, gentle, caring. Actually, when I met her, she was my nurse. I was sick [Chuckles] For the first time, and I thought she was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Nick: Are you sure you're describing your sister-in-law?
Jack: What? Huh?
Nick: I don't know, man. It just sounds like you kind of had a thing for Kayla.
[Tango music plays]
Sami: When do we dance?
E.J.: The first thing that Firenzia taught me was that before you can even begin to tango, you have to understand your partner's body. So you have to know how your wrists and your hips and your torso -- how they work together.
Sami: I see.
E.J.: Of course, when Firenzia taught me this, we were naked.
Sami: [Laughing] That must have been quite a lesson.
E.J.: Don't think. Don't speak. [Tango music continues]
Austin: Sami makes me happy.
Kate: Is that really true, or was it just convenient after losing Carrie, hmm? Austin, rebounds never work. Believe me, I know.
Austin: Mom, don't take this the wrong way, but you're not exactly the authority on successful relationships.
Kate: That's why I'm hoping that both of you will learn from my mistakes..
Billie: Uh, no, what you want to do is control us, and the harder you try, the more it's not gonna work out.
Bo: You're gonna help me with Hope, right? Abe, where are you going?
Abe: It's personal.
Bo: All right.
Shawn D.: Hi, Abe.
Bo: Hey, Shawn. Hey, you guys. I was wondering if you were gonna show up.. Don't tell me. Morning sickness in the evening, right? Shawn's mom used to have that, but --
Mimi: Well, actually --
Shawn D.: We were busy.
Bo: Okay. All right, well, glad you showed up.
Frankie: Yeah, welcome.
Shawn D.: Thanks. Where's mom?
Bo: Um, she left.
Shawn D.: You mean she didn't want to hang around with you? That's so weird. And, uh, congratulations, Frankie.
Frankie: Thank you. I appreciate it.
Shawn D.: You and Jennifer -- it's gonna be great. Too bad all relationships can't work out like that. Come on, why don't we grab a table, you guys?
Philip: That's a good idea.
Bo: There's a table right here, son.
Philip: Want the aisle?
Belle: Yeah, you know me.
Frankie: If you need anything, let me know.
Philip: Thanks, man. Appreciate it.
Shawn D.: Yeah, sorry.
Mimi: Why didn't you let me tell your dad we lost the baby?
Shawn D.: I want to tell my mother first. Plus, I want to tell her we found a surrogate.
Philip: Well, why don't you tell us instead?
Shawn D.: Well, yeah, that's a good subject. So, her name is Holly Landrieu. She doesn't drink, she doesn't smoke, she seems really nice and very friendly. She's very up front with what she wants to be doing. Um, she's very into being a --
Shawn D.: No, this whole thing -- it's very important --
Mimi: No, Shawn.
Shawn D.: What?
Mimi: We have a problem.
Shawn D.: Oh, my God. That's Holly.
Jennifer: There we go. Come on. One more. It's good for you.
Hope: What about Hope?
Jennifer: [Giggles] Give me that.
Kayla: When I'm in the market and I see couples bickering, I want to tell them, "stop! Don't you see what you have? At least you have each other." What I wouldn't give to have just one conversation with Steve -- a fight about anything. No, I take that back. I wouldn’t. I wouldn't fight, because nothing's that important.
Hope: You know what? I think about all the times that I nagged Zack about not cleaning up his room or brushing his teeth or leaving the toilet seat up. Why?
Kayla: You loved him so much, and he loved you.
Jennifer: You were a great mom. Don't do this to yourself. Come on.
Kayla: You know, Hope, Bo may be my younger brother, but I always looked up to the two of you -- when you got married, when you had Shawn Douglas. I admired the two of you so much, I just thought, "I want a marriage like that. I want a family like you have." I'm lucky. I did have it. But you still have it, and there is nothing -- there is no problem that you can't work through.
Hope: [Sighs] But the gulf between me and Bo is so wide. And it just keeps getting wider.
Kayla: Well, then you start swimming, and you build a bridge. You do whatever it takes to work your way back to each other because you can, because you have that choice. We didn't get that choice. And I know you, Hope. If you really want something, you don't let anything stand in your way.
Jennifer: That's right, and, listen, I know that Bo hurt you, Hope, and we are not trying to make light of that, but the two of you are here. You have each other. That makes everything possible. You two love each other so much.
Hope: If I keep eating this ice cream, I'm never gonna fit into my dress..
Jennifer: You do this every time.
Hope: I will think about what you're saying, okay? I just need to get a little air.
Kayla: Let us go with you.
Hope: I'll be fine.
Kayla: No, it's dark. It's late. Come on.
Hope: I kick butt for a living. I'll be fine. I'm a cop. I love you both so much.
Jennifer: We love you, too, so much.
Hope: And I will talk to you tomorrow and thank you for the ice cream and see you at the church.
Kayla: She doesn't want to hear it. I can tell.
Jennifer: She has to hear it, and I'm glad she's hearing it from someone besides me. They can get through this. I know they can. It's good for her.
Kayla: I hope that's right. I can't believe we ate all this ice cream.
Jennifer: Yeah, you're right. No more. Um, I just wanted to talk to you a little bit, and I just wanted to tell you -- I do love your brother Frankie so much.
Kayla: Jennifer, I know that.
Jennifer: Okay, I just wanted to make sure you know that. He makes me feel like a teenager again, you know? And I know that he's gonna be a wonderful stepfather to my children.
Kayla: But he's not Jack.
Jennifer: Well, no, but he's Frankie, and we've loved each other since....well, when we were teenagers, and that's what's so wonderful about him. But Jack was my whole life -- the good and the bad and we grew and we matured. We got stronger and stronger together, so even though he physically isn't here, it's still forever for me.
Kayla: It's the same with me and Steve. I just miss him so much.
Jennifer: I know. I know you do. [Radio plays "the rose"]
Some say love
It is a river
Kayla: That was our song.
That drowns the tender reed some say love it is razor that leaves your soul to...
Kayla: I'm so glad that you and Frankie reconnected.
Some say love
Kayla: But for me, there will never be anybody but Steve.
Nick: Oh, man, I always loved this song. I don't know why.
Jack: I know how to jog your memory.
Jack: Keep your eye on the road. I can't believe I forgot this. I got your picture. I got you and Kayla together, right here in my wallet all this time. Here, check that out.. It's from your wedding.
It's the heart
Nick: Oh, man.
[Tango music plays] [Cheers and applause]
Sami: You are an amazing teacher.
E.J.: How was that for your first lesson?
Woman: We have a winning couple. Congratulations. [Cheers and applause] Congratulations.
E.J.: Wow, look at you. "1st place."
Woman: I expected to see some more.
Crowd: Again, again!
E.J.: One more? Come on, we can't disappoint our public, huh? [Both laugh] [Tango music plays] [Cheers and applause]
Kate: Now, I know you don't believe this, but I do know what I'm talking about. Oh, boy. And if the two of you were smart, you would listen to me. Otherwise, you're both going to regret it.
Billie: Mom's the one who's gonna regret it.
Austin: What are you talking about? What is she up to?
Frankie: Let me take you home.
Bo: Home? You mean to Hope?
Patrick: Whoa, easy, buddy.
Bo: Get your hands off of me.
Patrick: Oh, you want to fall down? That's fine, man.
Bo: No, I want to beat the crap out of you.
Frankie: That's it.
Bo: I'm sorry, Frankie. We'll take this outside.
Belle: I'm glad Shawn and Mimi weren't here to see that.
Shawn D.: What the hell do you think you're doing? You told us you didn't drink, you didn't smoke, that you were a complete health freak.
Holly: I am.
Shawn D.: No, you are loaded.
Holly: I wanted to party one last time before I got pregnant with your baby.
Shawn D.: You lied to us. How am I supposed to trust you again?
Holly: Please, just give me one more chance. I really need the money. Mrs. Brady --
Shawn D.: No, don't even -- no, forget about it. You are not gonna carry our baby.
Mimi: I knew this wasn't going to work. Nothing is. [Sighs]
Shawn D.: It's okay.
Lexie: Oh, God! Oh, Tek! Mmm, mmm, I've never... [Panting]
Tek: Oh, my God. Well, if you decide to be with me, it could be like that every time.
Lexie: Mmm. [Giggles]
Abe: So you're the manager?
Abe: I'm Police Commissioner Carver. I got a note to meet my wife here, Room 4.
Manager: Did ya?
Abe: It said she had a surprise for me.
Manager: Whatever floats your boat, honey. [Clicks tongue] That badge looks almost real.
Abe: What is this? Some kind of practical joke?
Lexie: Oh, yes! Mmm, yes! Oh! Mmm. [Panting] [Gasps]
[Tango music plays]
Kate: I have to find a way to get Sami away from Austin. [Chuckles] Or maybe I should just let Sami and nature take its course. [Cheers and applause]
Austin: Hey, hey, hey. Spill it. What is mom up to?
Billie: Oh, come on. You know mom. She's always up to something. I just think that we need to watch our backs. You know what I mean?
Shawn D.: That -- I... you know what? It's gonna be okay. We can interview other surrogates. She was just the first person we talked to. Or we can adopt.
Mimi: No, no. I am starting to think that nothing is going to work. We are never going to have a baby together, and I am going to lose you one day because of it.
Shawn D.: No way.
Belle: Things just keep getting worse for them.
Philip: Well, think about it, honey. Things looked pretty bad for us when we first had Claire, when she was sick, but we worked it out, and now no one's taking away our daughter from us. Things will work out for them, too.
Bo: You think you can make me look bad in front of my boy?
Frankie: Stop! Just stop! Go. Get out of here.
Bo: Stay the hell away from my wife.
Frankie: Enough. Come on. Let's go.
Jack: So, you recognize her, don't you?
Nick: But you told me she was gorgeous, but, man, oh, man... wow...
Jack: I'll tell you what. We're gonna call her when we get to Salem. We'll have her meet us there, all right? And then we'll just see what happ-- whoa, hey, look, the turn's coming up. Right up here. Make a right. All right.
Jennifer: Kayla, you'll find someone. I mean, it may not be the same, but you can find happiness with someone else.
Kayla: You know, I don't think I want to find somebody else. I tried with Shane, and it just wasn't right. And I just thought, "no more."
Jennifer: No, believe me. I understand the feeling of wanting to be alone the rest of your life. I do.
Kayla: But I'm not alone. I have Stephanie and I have my friends and I have my work that I love. And I have that beautiful reoccurring dream that the doorbell rings, and Steve's standing there.
[Doorbell rings] [Chuckles]
Jennifer: [Chuckles] That scared me.
Kayla: Well, who would that be? It's so late.
Jennifer: I don't know. I mean, I know two people it couldn't be.
[Footsteps approaching] [Footsteps stop] [Footsteps continue]
Chelsea: I am so sick and tired of you. I am who I am.
Max: And that would be who, Chelsea, huh?
Sami: Oh! A!
Lexie: No, please, no!
Abe: I'm gonna take out my gun, and I'm gonna shoot you where you deserve it.
Hope: Oh, my God. It's you.
