Bo: What is it you wanted to say to me?

Chelsea: It's, um -- it's something that I did to you and Hope.

Bo: What do you mean? It?

Kate: So, you intercepted Hope's e-mails to Bo. Oh, she did ask him for a divorce, didn't she?

Chelsea: Yep, thanks to the e-mail I sent her from Bo's account. As far as Hope knows, Bo happily agreed to the divorce.

Bo: Hey, whatever it is, it's gonna be okay. I'm your dad.

Chelsea: I know. Um... oh, God, this is so hard.

Bo: Yeah, I can see that.

Chelsea: I just want you to know that it's really important to me that you know the truth, okay?

Bo: Okay.

Hope: [Sighs] Boat's gone. I'm too late. Damn it. I drove him away, and now he could be headed anywhere. Patrick, you're blaming yourself, torturing yourself for nothing. It wasn't your fault that Alma died. The truth is right here in this letter. [Sighs] But unless you contact me or come back, then you're never gonna know the truth. [Gasps] Patrick. Patrick.

Lexie: I've known John for many years, and no one can love you more than he does. Everything that he's doing is to try to protect you from Alex.

Marlena: John...

John: Got you. You...

Sami: Wait a second. You mean that even if she has cancer, you're gonna let her think that she doesn't?

Alex: Yes.

Sami: But she could die without treatment.

Alex: That's a possibility, but I think you're like me, Sami. We both operate on the premise that the end justifies the means.

Sami: Oh -- I don't know what to say.

Alex: Don't say anything. Just let me do what I have to do, and everything will work out for the both of us.

Sami: I can't do it. I can't let Alex kill Lexie.

Betty: How are you doing, Dr. Carver? Did you get your biopsy results?

Lexie: No, no, not yet.

Betty: Well, I sure hope it's good news.

Lexie: Yeah, that's what I'm praying for.

Betty: We all are. Good luck.

Lexie: Thanks. [Sighs] Okay, whatever the results, I can deal with it. The ones who are going to need good luck are Sami and Alex.

Alex: You made a big mistake trying to cross me, Lexie. Once I have finished with your biopsy results, I need to medicate my blushing bride one last time. I'll make certain that she doesn't start remembering anything before we are safely out of Salem for good. Done.

Sami: Thank God you're still here. You can't do it. I'm not gonna let you kill Lexie.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Chelsea: I'm the reason that you and Hope are getting a divorce.

Bo: Chelsea...

Chelsea: No. And I really want to make things right for you guys. I want to be a better person, Dad. And I really, really, really mean that this time.

Bo: I know you do.

Chelsea: I just want you to be proud of me.

Bo: Come on. Look, I know you feel responsible for what's going on with me and Hope.

Chelsea: Dad, I am responsible.

Bo: No, you're not.

Charisse: Aah! I'm not going back there!

Jailer: Put down the letter opener, Charisse.

Charisse: Get away from me!

Jailer: You don't want to wind up in even more trouble.

Bo: Stay here. Hey!

Charisse: Things can't get any worse.

Bo: Yes, it could.

Charisse: No! Aah! Get off of me! Come on!

Jailer: Hold her. Hold her.

Bo: Get her legs!

Charisse: Honey, when you're behind bars and someone wants to get you, believe me, they will. And a pretty little thing like you... your life would be a living hell, and you'd wish you were dead, too.

Chelsea: You are. You're just trying to scare me.

Charisse: Why would I do that? You didn't do anything that could get you sent to prison, did you?

Chelsea: No.

Charisse: Well, then, you have nothing to worry about.

Charisse: Get off me, you pig!

Bo: How'd she get out of these cuffs?

Jailer: I was fingerprinting her.

Bo: Okay, take her back to a cell. Put her in a cell -- now.

Charisse: I'd rather you shoot me! Just shoot me now, please!

Bo: Get her out of here!

Charisse: Aah!

Bo: I'm -- you okay? You all right?

Hope: I thought you'd left.

Patrick: I would have, but Danny borrowed the boat, so I've got to wait till I can catch a ride to the main island.

Hope: No, no. It was fate. You weren't supposed to leave, Patrick.

Patrick: I know you want me to stay, but I made up my mind. You can't change it.

Hope: I know I can't, but maybe Alma can.

Patrick: What are you talking about?

Hope: She gave me a message for you.

John: What are you doing?

Tek: I'm sorry, but I had my orders.

John: I could have killed you.

Tek: But you didn't 'cause the only one you're after is Alex North.

John: Tell your boys down at the cop shop I'm gonna get him. I don't care who's following me.

Tek: Don't do anything stupid, John.

John: I'm gonna do whatever it takes to keep Marlena safe. For your information, I'm not chasing down North right now. I'm here to see Lexie.

Tek: About what?

John: I'm about to find out. She wants to meet me.

Tek: Her office is in the other direction.

John: I know. I saw Marlena. She was all alone. I felt it was a perfect opportunity to talk to her.

Tek: Except she's made it clear she doesn't want to see you.

John: No, North has made it clear. This may be my last chance to get through to her before he pulls her out of town. If that happens, it's all over, so you're gonna cut me some slack. Come on, Tek. You're not just a cop. You're my friend. I brought you in, and I trained you at the ISA, remember?

Tek: [Sighs] Okay, I'll give you a little space.

John: Thanks.

Tek: But I'll be keeping my eye on you.

John: Of course you will. You had a good teacher.

Tek: Yeah.

John: I love you so much.

Marlena: Mmm. I never want this night to end.

Marlena: I know my heart belongs to Alex. I wish we didn't have to leave Salem.

Marlena: [Humming] [Laughs]

Alex: Ooh!

Marlena: I was having this here thought.

Alex: Yeah?

Marlena: I was thinking that I know you want to surprise me about the honeymoon, but I was thinking you should just tell me where we're going.

Alex: You were thinking that? Well, then, I think I'll tell you -- as far away from Salem as we can get. How's that?

Marlena: Oh. Well, do you think that's a very good idea?

Alex: The honeymoon?

Marlena: No, the honeymoon's a wonderful idea. I mean going as far away as possible from Salem and my children. You know, they're having a hard time, and I don't want to be too far away.

Alex: John almost killed me. If we stay here, he's going to keep trying until he succeeds. Is that what you want?

Marlena: No, of course not. But were you thinking just to stay away for a whole long time?

Alex: Personally, I do not think John will ever accept that we're together, but, no, I was merely suggesting that we give him a little cooling-off time, a chance for him to get used to the idea that we're married without it being thrown in his face every day.

Marlena: Hmm. You know, Belle and Sami --

Alex: Belle and Sami are adults.

Marlena: Yes. The thing is I don't remember a lot, you know, about my past, and I do know that I'm their mother. And no matter how old they get, they always need their mom, and I will not abandon them.

Alex: We have cellphones. The internet is available everywhere. And you can keep in touch with your family while we're away every day if that's what you want.

Marlena: Oh. You promise?

Alex: Would I ever lie to you, hmm?

Marlena: [Laughs] Mmm.

Alex: Mmm.

Marlena: Mmm.

Marlena: Alex was right. I don't have to live with my children to be part of their lives. That's not love. That's co-dependence. And after all we've been through, we deserve a wonderful, wonderful honeymoon. Marlena Evans-Black.

John: That's who you are. It's who you will always be.

Lexie: Carrie, hi. It's Lexie. I'm fine, thanks. Listen, I have a favor to ask. Would you and Lucas mind coming down to the hospital? I need to talk to you in person. The sooner, the better. No, no, it's nothing to worry about. Great. I'll see you soon. Oh, Sami. You have no idea what's about to hit you. Austin, hi. It's Lexie. I don't know if you got my message earlier, but...

Alex: Lower your voice before someone hears you.

Sami: I don't care.

Alex: I do. We are in this together now, Sami, and if either one of us gets caught, let's just say it will not bode well for the other one.

Sami: Maybe neither of us has to get caught. Maybe Lexie doesn't really have cancer, and then she'll realize she doesn't want to throw her life away, she doesn't want to ruin her marriage, and she'll leave us -- oh, God, she has cancer, doesn't she?

Alex: I told you to leave this to me. It's better that you don't know.

Sami: No, no. If you change those test results -- we have to change them back. You can't let her die.

Alex: I can do anything I want.

Sami: Well, I am not gonna help you do it.

Alex: Listen to me.

Sami: No. I -- let me --

Alex: I have heard that you have been party to much worse stand.

Sami: Let me go.

Alex: No! Lexie is determined to ruin the happiness you and I have fought so hard to get. Now, I may or not be able to stop her, but if I can't, I will at least make sure that she has paid for what she's done.

Bo: Hey, I'm sorry you had to see that. We get kind of used to it around here, but it can be pretty shocking to a civilian.

Chelsea: Yeah, that was awful.

Bo: Yeah, but no one got hurt. She'll calm down. It's gonna be okay.

Chelsea: No, it's not. She's going off to some horrible prison, and the same thing is gonna happen to me.

Bo: Whoa, whoa, whoa. No, it is not gonna happen to you. I'm gonna do everything I can to keep you out of prison. I'll convince the judge and jury that what happened that night -- well, that it was an accident.

Kate: She's not gonna forgive you for the death of her child. She's gonna do everything she possibly can to make sure that you get the maximum sentence. So be warned, because you may be spending the next 20 years of your life behind bars.

Chelsea: I love you, Dad.

Bo: Hey, and I love you. I've waited too many years to be able to say that. I'm not gonna lose you now.

Chelsea: I just want you and Hope to be happy.

Bo: I know, and eventually we will be happy, okay?

[Knock on door]

Frankie: I'm sorry. Am I interrupting?

Chelsea: No, I was actually just leaving.

Bo: Okay, catch you later.

Chelsea: Bye, Dad.

Bo: Bye.

Frankie: I'm guessing Chelsea finally told you the truth.

Bo: The truth about what?

Patrick: Alma's not alive.

Hope: Not physically, but --

Patrick: Fine, then how did she give you a message for me?

Hope: I started to clear the weeds in her garden, and I found this little metal box. In it was this letter. Patrick, it was addressed to you. I know I should-- just -- here. Just read it, please.

Alma: Patrick, Mi Amor, if you are reading this, then I am dead. I know you, corazůn. You really want to blame yourself, but this was not your fault. And there was nothing you could have done to prevent it. You were very honest with me about your past. I was less honest with you. You see, I too was involved with some very bad men. But after I met you, I decided to leave them and my life of crime for a life of loving you. Unfortunately, it is not always easy to escape from that world. I thought I had, but now I've learned those men are coming after me. There is nowhere to run anymore, and when they find me... but even knowing what's about to happen, I'd leave them all over again to be able to share the time you and I have had. Try not to suffer. Move on. Let yourself love again. And know that I will always live on in your heart. Te amo por siempre.

Hope: You see? It wasn't your fault. All this time you blamed yourself, but Alma's letter proves that you had nothing to do with her death.

Patrick: No, it doesnít. How can I ever be sure who was responsible? I don't care what she wrote. I should have been there to protect her.

Marlena: John, you shouldn't be here.

John: Don't really have a choice. I'm not giving up on you. You're my life.

Marlena: John, our life together is over. It's been over for years.

John: You want to talk about years? Why don't you flip through this passport, hmm? Why don't you look at all the places you have been over the years? I know every one of them because you were there with me. It's kind of like a story of our life. Years. All the mementos you have here. Look at your girl. Look at Belle. Look at Claire. How can you say our past together is gone when it's staring you right in the face?

Marlena: I care about Belle and Claire. I care about you. My life is with Alex now.

John: I'm not buying it.

Marlena: John, before I met you and before I met Roman, I met Alex, and I fell in love with him --

John: No, you didnít. That's what you have been told time and time and time again, but the thing is, you don't remember any of it.

Marlena: I remember enough.

John: We were soul mates. You just don't remember how much you love me.

Marlena: But I do.

Lexie: So, please, Abe, when you get this message, come down to the hospital as soon as you can.

Sami: Let me go! I am not a killer, Alex. But that's exactly what I would become if I didn't do anything, if I just stood back, if Lexie has cancer and, because of you, it goes untreated.

Alex: Fine, if that's the way you want it, Sami, you be the good Samaritan.

Sami: I will.

Alex: And you be prepared to lose everything, and that includes Austin Reed.

Bo: What truth do you think Chelsea was gonna tell me?

Chelsea: Hope wrote my dad an e-mail asking him for a divorce.

Frankie: I know.

Chelsea: Yeah, but what you don't know is that... I wrote her back pretending to be him, telling Hope that, that's what my dad wanted, too.

Frankie: Sorry, Bo. Client-attorney privilege.

Bo: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know the drill. Chelsea's wrestling with a lot right now.

Frankie: You both are. Did you sign the divorce papers?

Bo: No, I didnít. And I'm not going to. You can send these back to Hope. Tell her I'm not gonna sign them. I'm not giving up on us, and I never will.

Frankie: I'll do everything I can to try to convince her.

Bo: Thanks, man.

Frankie: You got it. What's this?

Bo: Oh, uh... a rap sheet the Chicago P.D. sent me.

Frankie: Fugitive killer?

Bo: Mm-hmm. I think there's a pretty good chance that's Patrick Lockhart..

Hope: You can't blame yourself for Alma's death.

Patrick: I loved her, Hope. She was my everything. I should have realized something was wrong. I should have known she was in trouble.

Hope: How? I know you feel that you should have protected her, but from the letter, it sounds like she knew that no one could have saved her. So, in a way, by not involving you, she was protecting you.

Patrick: Is that supposed to help?

Hope: Maybe not, but you know what? This letter should. All this time, Patrick, you thought it was your fault that Alma died, people from your past taking out their revenge on her, but it wasnít.

Patrick: I don't know that for sure.

Hope: I think you do. Patrick, she's given you a gift from beyond the grave. She's exonerated you, and by doing that, she's given you a second chance at -- at life... and at love.

Chelsea: Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.

Fr. Marquez: How long has it been since your last confession?

Chelsea: I don't know -- like, forever.

Fr. Marquez: Well, you're here now. That's what's important. What's troubling you, my child?

Chelsea: I've done something very bad.

Fr. Marquez: That's the definition of a sin.

Chelsea: Yeah, I know.

Fr. Marquez: If you want absolution, you have to be more specific.

Chelsea: If I, um -- if I tell you what I did, you can't tell anybody, right? I mean, it's -- it's completely confidential no matter what?

Fr. Marquez: No matter what. I'm bound by the confessional.

Chelsea: Okay. Here it goes. Um...I'm sure you know that I ran over my little brother, Zack. And he died. It was an accident, but... my stepmom, um... [ Crying] She wants to see me rot in hell.

Fr. Marquez: Well, it's not up to her, and if you are genuinely sorry...

Chelsea: I am. But it doesn't even matter. I mean, I guess what I should have said was that she wants to see me rot in jail. And if she gets my dad to testify against me, then that's what's gonna happen. So, um...

Fr. Marquez: I'm listening.

Chelsea: So, Hope left town. She's so mad at my dad for even having a daughter like me. So, I sent her an e-mail, um, of an article from the Salem Chronicle of Shawn and Mimi's wedding, and it had a few pictures of me and my mom and my dad all looking like a happy family, which I knew would make her flip out.

Fr. Marquez: I see.

Chelsea: Anyway, then I went online. I used my dad's password and his screen name, and I read an e-mail that Hope had sent to him after she read the article. She said that she wanted a divorce. And I knew that if my dad read it, he would write her back saying how much he loved her and that he didn't want to have a divorce. So, I rerouted his outgoing messages so that they would come to my account first. And after he read her e-mail, he wrote her back, and I had changed what he had written. And then I forwarded it to Hope.

Fr. Marquez: Well, you have been really busy.

Chelsea: Yeah. But lately... well, see, I kind of had this near-death experience, and I've just realized that everything I've done was just a huge mistake. And I tried to tell my dad the truth.

Fr. Marquez: Your instinct is right. You need to tell your father what you did.

Chelsea: But I just told you and God. Isn't that enough?

Fr. Marquez: I'm sorry, but I can't help you gain God's forgiveness if you're not willing to help yourself.

Chelsea: But I didn't lie to God. I lied to Bo and Hope.

Fr. Marquez: True, but if you don't rectify the situation, I'm afraid you will wind up paying a grave spiritual price for all the pain you've inflicted.

John: You remember our love?

Marlena: Maybe it's all the pictures and mementos, but I -- I know you were very special to me.

John: Yes, I was, just like you're special to me. You know, I remember the day that you walked down that aisle to me and you said, "I do." I knew that my life was complete. My God. You remember, don't you?

Marlena: Well, I've had memories in the past, but nothing like this.

John: You know, it's kind of like I said all along. It doesn't matter what North did to you. Our love is too strong to be destroyed, and it was just a matter of time until it fought its way to the surface. And that's what it's doing right now, isn't it? I love you. Always have. Always will.

Tek: Something told me this was gonna be a good day, and now it is.

Lexie: Yeah, well, I wish I could say the same thing.

Tek: What's wrong?

Lexie: I've gotten myself into a situation, and I need to take care of it before it spins totally out of control.

Tek: Why do I assume this involves Alex North?

Lexie: Maybe because you're such a good detective.

Tek: Is that bastard still trying to blackmail you by telling Abe about us?

Lexie: Yeah, but --

Tek: I'll kill him.

Lexie: Tek, it's not just Alex. Sami knows, too. I mean, you can't kill everybody, can you?

Tek: No wonder you're upset.

Lexie: That's not the worst of it. I, uh, found a lump.

Tek: Where?

Lexie: In my left breast.

Tek: Are you okay?

Lexie: I'm trying to be. I had a mammogram, and they did a needle biopsy..

Tek: Well, I'm here for you, Lexie, whatever you need, whatever happens.

Lexie: Thank you. Thank you. Because the first thing that has to happen....

Tek: Uh-huh.

Lexie: ...Is I have to tell Abe about our affair.

Sami: Okay, Alex, wait. I can't lose Austin.

Alex: Well, it is in your hands.

Sami: But I'm not gonna let Lexie die, either. And I certainly don't want my mom to wind up with you.

Alex: You'd rather she wound up with John Black?

Sami: Ugh! God, I -- I just want to be happy with the man that I love. Is that asking too much?

Alex: No, not at all. I mean, you have had a bit of a rough time in the love department of late, Sami, but I can guarantee your happiness with Austin if you'll only trust me. Can you do that?

Sami: Look, I'm not gonna lose Austin again. So yeah... I trust you.

Frankie: You know, Bo, this profile could match a lot of guys besides Lockhart.

Bo: That's him. And if he comes anywhere near my family or friends, I'll be the one up on murder charges.

Patrick: A second chance sounds great, Hope, but I don't deserve it.

Hope: You read the letter. Alma loved you. She didn't want you to suffer.. That's what she said -- "try not to suffer. Move on. Let yourself love again."

Patrick: I'm not sure I know how to.

Hope: You were doing pretty well with Billie.

Patrick: Yeah, well, you saw how that worked out.

Hope: Maybe she was the wrong woman. Did you ever think of that? Why won't you let me help you?

Patrick: Hope, thank you. As lovely as that sounds, I -- I canít. I have to be alone right now.

Fr. Marquez: By keeping the truth from your father, you're hurting yourself even more than you are him and Hope. And you're putting your eternal soul at risk. [Footsteps depart] Wait! Don't go away!

Chelsea: [Sniffles] I'm sorry, God. I know that I should tell the truth about what I did, but I canít. I never will.

Marlena: Oh, I canít. I can't do this, John.

John: Yes, you can. You can. I know that you remember. I can tell.

Marlena: I remember parts of my life with you, but I keep telling you that's the past. I'm married to Alex. I'm happy, John. Please, you have to leave.

John: Just give me a little time. That's all I need. I know that if we can talk, just the two of us alone, we're gonna work through this. I'm gonna convince you. I'm gonna make you realize that marrying Alex and going away with him is the biggest mistake of your life.

Marlena: I don't want to talk about it. I don't -- I don't want to work through it. John, I don't want to change my mind. I just -- I have to go. I can't do this. [Gasps]

John: You can do this.

Marlena: I canít. I canít. Please, I canít.

John: Marlena -- Marlena.

Sami: Don't you think you two should do this in private?

Tek: Listen to me, you --

Lexie: Let me handle this, please. [Sighs] You're just the person I wanted to see.

Sami: Really? I'm glad. I'd think it would be me, rather than Abe.

Lexie: Sami, your threats won't work on me anymore, okay? My marriage to Abe may have had its ups and downs over the years --

Sami: Yeah, I'll say.

Lexie: But it has survived them, and it will survive this, too.

Sami: Yeah, it might, but, Lexie, you wonít.

Lexie: Well, you're threatening me personally now?

Sami: No, but please --

Lexie: No, I won't destroy other people's lives for you anymore, Sami. Carrie and Austin need to know that they are at no more risk of having a child with birth defects as anyone else.

Sami: Why do you have to tell them anything? Look, Austin and I are happy, and Carrie and Lucas are engaged.

Lexie: Then you shouldn't care if they learn the truth.

Sami: You think you're hurting me, but you are hurting yourself a whole lot worse -- you and everyone who loves you.

Lexie: Worse than if it turns out I have cancer? I don't think so, Sami. You know, finding this lump in my breast was such a wake-up call. I am telling everyone the truth, and if that means destroying you by exposing you for what you truly are, that's just an added bonus.

Sami: You don't understand what you are doing.

Lexie: I understand perfectly.

Sami: You are forcing me to become a monster, and I don't want to be one.. Lexie, please.

Lexie: Oh, Sami, you can stop the tears, okay? They may work on Austin, Lucas, and your father, but they are so wasted on me. You can't change my mind.

Sami: You're not playing a game here, Lexie. Your whole future is at risk.

Lexie: [Sighs] Sami, there's nothing you can do to hurt me or to stop me.

Sami: Maybe I won't, but Alex will, and it'll be your own damn fault.

Alex: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey.

Marlena: Alex.

Alex: What's wrong, huh? What happened? Are you all right?

Marlena: I'm okay.

Alex: [Sighs] I should have guessed. You'll never stop, will you?

John: Never.

Alex: This is exactly why we need to go on that honeymoon.

Marlena: You're right.

Alex: Of course I am. So come on, let's get out of here.

Marlena: Okay.

Lexie: Excuse me. Before anyone leaves, there's something you all need to know.

Alex: I think it's time that we let Lexie know who's really in charge here, don't you?

Bo: If there was a way that I could talk to her, you know, just get through to her somehow.

Frankie: Maybe there is.

Hope: I don't believe this. Why is he doing this?

Austin: The only thing that I know is that I love you so much and that I am never gonna let you go.
