Lucas: You know, I think my mom's really happy for us.

Sami: Yeah, well, as long as you're not marrying me, I'm sure she's thrilled.

Austin: So am I. I mean that. You're getting an amazing woman.

Lucas: Boy, don't I know it.

Sami: And, uh, you're getting a great guy, Carrie. You're very lucky.

Carrie: I think so, too.

Lucas: Well, uh, guess we should be going. Like I said earlier, we have dinner reservations.

Carrie: Right. Thank you for the champagne and celebration.

Austin: Well, you two have a great dinner. And, uh, again, congratulations.

Lucas: Thanks, Austin.

Carrie: I'll take these to the kitchen.

Lucas: Thanks, honey. You don't have to do that.

Sami: Austin, I have an idea. Why don't you and I go out, too? We don't have to work, right? We could go to dune and get a drink. We can work tomorrow.

Austin: You know what, Sami? You're right, you know? Work can wait.

Sami: Really?

Austin: Yeah.

Sami: You want to go out?

Austin: I'd love to go out. But only if Carrie and Lucas agree to join us.

Billie: Hey, Chelsea, it's your mom. Uh, please give me a call back when you get this message, okay? We're starting to get worried, your dad and I. I know how upset you were when you ran out of here earlier, but we didn't mean to come down on you so hard. It's just that we're frustrated and we're concerned and... the most important thing is that you know that we love you very much. And we're worried about you, so please call, okay?

Guy: Well, what are you waiting on? Seal her up and get the hell out of here. I'm beat.

Joe: You sure you don't want to check the sewer?

Guy: Yeah, I'm sure. It's a waste of time. Let's go.

Joe: All right.

Guy: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What are you doing?

Joe: I'm sealing her up like you said.

Guy: No, not with bolts. Welded shut.

Joe: Welded? Isn't that a little permanent? I mean, what if someone needs to get down there?

Guy: They wonít. These pipes are history. They're out of commission, never to be used again, okay? No one's every going down there again, all right? I'll get the welder..

Joe: You're the boss.

Patrick: What am I doing? Hope, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have done that.. You're upset. You're vulnerable. I'd never want to take advantage of you, okay? I don't want to do that.

Hope: No. No, you're not taking advantage of me. I'm my own woman. I know what I'm doing.

Patrick: But you are a married woman. Taking the ring off your finger and throwing it in the ocean, it doesn't change that.

Hope: It changes everything. Bo made his choice. And now I've made mine. He's with Billie now. Our marriage is over.

Bo: I can't lose you, Fancy Face. I canít. We've lost so much. We can't lose each other.

Billie: Then fight, Bo. Fight for your wife and your marriage.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Billie: Just because Hope says she wants a divorce doesn't mean it has to happen. If you love her, and I know you do, you'll fight for her.

Bo: Yes, I will. I'm not gonna let her go, but right now there's not much I can do.

Billie: Yes, there is. You can talk to her.

Bo: She won't listen. She's too angry.

Billie: Bo, you got to --

Bo: Just look. You were here when I sent her the e-mail, when I talked to her on the phone. I poured my heart out to her, told her how much I loved her, that I'd do any-- she slammed the door on me. She just needs some time and space and maybe she'll come around.

Billie: Oh, she'll come around, all right... with divorce papers. She doesn't need time. She doesn't need space. What she needs is for you to tell her how much you love her. You need to tell her that again.

Bo: That's exactly what I said to her.

Billie: In an e-mail, not in person.

Bo: Well, she hung up on me.

Billie: Yeah, well, maybe she didn't get cellphone reception.

Bo: Mickey will call you. Click.

Billie: There's no way she could have read your e-mail word for word. Because if she had, she would not be asking for a divorce. Call her, Bo. Call her before it's too late.

Bo: I canít.

Billie: What?

Bo: Look, I appreciate all your help and that you care about this, but.... no. I know my wife. She obviously doesn't want to talk to me. So if I push her, she'll just get angry and more determined.

Billie: So you're just gonna accept it? You know what? You're just starting to make excuses now. That's all this is.

Bo: What are you talking about?

Billie: You're afraid to put yourself out there again, to get your heart crushed. And I know how that feels. Believe me, I know how it feels. But there is too much at stake here. You've got your marriage, your family -- over 20 years, Bo.

Bo: Look, I don't need you to remind me.

Billie: Okay, so do something about it. You and Hope have been through so much together, thick and thin, every kind of a crisis there is, God knows, and you have always found your way back to each other. Your marriage is worth hanging on to.

Bo: Well, according to my wife, what we had was over the day I lied about Chelsea being the one who hit Zack, and she'll never forgive me.

Billie: Okay, go ahead. Give up.

Bo: I am not gonna give up. I'm gonna fight for her till the day I die.

Patrick: I wouldn't be so sure it's over. You and Bo have how much time invested together, 20-plus years, right? And in all that time, you've never stopped loving each other.

Hope: And I never, never thought we would. But like I told you, things have changed.

Patrick: No, things like that don't change.

Hope: I can't forget, Patrick. He lied to me to protect our son's killer.. If it wasn't for you, I probably still wouldn't know the truth about how my little boy died and who was really responsible.

Patrick: I know how much that hurt. And I know you're still grieving for Zack, but so is Bo. He wasn't thinking clearly. He feels responsible. He gave the keys to Chelsea when he knew she shouldn't have been driving. And on top of that, he's being pulled in two separate directions.

Hope: And who did he keep choosing? His spoiled daughter and Billie over and over again, over his own wife and sons.

Patrick: It's not that simple. He made a mistake. He made a big mistake. But are you willing to throw away your entire marriage?

Hope: This is what Bo wants, Patrick. He told me in his e-mail, and then he confirmed it on the phone.

Patrick: Hope.

Hope: And his actions have showed me every step of the way. Yes, okay, I admit, I'm the one who first asked for the divorce. But when I sent that e-mail, I was angry. [Voice breaking] I was hurt. I needed to know that he'd fight for me... that he still loved me, that he'd do anything to save our marriage. But that didn't happen, did it? He didn't even argue because he's already moved on. He's let me go.

Patrick: I still can't believe that. You and Bo could survive anything, even this.

Hope: Apparently not. This divorce is really happening. Probably for the better, anyway.

Patrick: What are you talking about?

Hope: Too much has happened, too much hurt, too many betrayals, things that can't be undone or taken back. I seriously doubt -- wait, I just want to be honest, here, okay? I mean, I seriously doubt that Bo and I would have been able to work things out, anyway.

Patrick: Just do me a favor, will you, before you do anything else?

Hope: What?

Patrick: Just wait to make any final decisions until you get home, until you have time to talk to Bo in person, to think things over. I think you'll feel differently when you're back in Salem.

Hope: No. I've already decided for sure. I'm not going back... not to Bo, not to Salem.

Sami: Can you guys excuse us for a second? Austin, come here. What are you thinking? They just got engaged. They probably want to be alone.

Austin: Or they might want to celebrate some more, keep the party going.

Sami: Not with us.

Austin: Considering how complicated things have been between the four of us, I think it would mean a lot to them to know that we're behind them 100%.

Sami: Austin, I don't think they care what we think.

Austin: There's only one way to find out. Hey, you two, you two. Look, you -- if you want to be alone tonight, totally understand... or it could be fun to make a night of it, you know, celebrating your engagement.

Lucas: Well, Carrie and I were planning on a late dinner, but, uh, that's all right. What did you have in mind?

Austin: A party.

Sami: A party? What? Where?

Austin: Yeah, a party on the pier. Come on, haven't you guys ever listened to Kiss F.M.? Every Monday night they throw a party on the pier. You know, they got a deejay, they got dancing. You know, people bring blankets and have a picnic and beer and wine and cheese. I don't know. I sounds like a great time. I think we should check it out.

Carrie: That sounds great.

Austin: Yeah?

Carrie: Well, I'm game if you are.

Lucas: Yeah, yeah, that's fine. It's our night to celebrate, so whatever you want.

Austin: I'll call Caroline at the pub, and we'll pick up food on the way..

Lucas: Sounds good.

Carrie: Can we bring anything?

Austin: Yeah, just a blanket, warm jacket.

Lucas: All right, nice. We'll get changed, and I guess we'll see you in a few.

Carrie: Okay.

Austin: We'll be ready. All right. Hey, what's the number of the pub? I never remember.

Sami: Look, Austin, hold on a second, okay? I am really uncomfortable about this. I'm sorry, but I am.

Austin: I know. Going out with them, I know.

Sami: It's just weird, okay?

Austin: It's because you love Lucas. But they're engaged.

Sami: No. No. That is not it.

Austin: Sami, come on. Who are you talking to? You're talking to me. You don't think I understand? You don't think it kills me to know that Carrie's with my brother, that they're gonna get married?

Sami: Then why are you doing this? Why do you want to hang out with them?

Austin: 'Cause we have to accept that they're together now. The sooner we do that, the easier it'll be on everyone. I mean, it's not like we can avoid each other.

Sami: Well, no.

Austin: Carrie's your sister. Lucas is my brother. We have to make peace with it. I think this is something you and I need. We have to let go, move on.

Sami: Do you mean together? I mean, Austin, do you really mean what you said in front of Kate?

Austin: Well, I'm willing to try if you are.

Lucas: Boy, look at you. You are really worth the wait.

Carrie: Oh, thank you.

Lucas: Um, are you sure you're okay with this, this party on the pier with Austin and Sami?

Carrie: Yeah.

Lucas: Thank you.

Carrie: Besides, I think it's great they're taking it so well.

Lucas: Our engagement, you mean?

Carrie: It could be really awkward or, actually, awful if they werenít. And, you know, Austin's your brother. Sami's my sister. They're gonna be part of our lives forever, and I really want to get along with them. It's really important to me.

Lucas: Yeah, I agree. Me too. I've had enough with the fighting and the grudges.

Carrie: So you're really okay with going?

Lucas: Honey, as long as I'm with you, that is the only thing that matters.

Joe: I'm sorry, but isn't it proper procedure to go down and check inside and make absolutely sure that nothing's down there, no kids, animals, whatever?

Guy: Look, Joe, I know you're new on the job. And I'm all for doing things by the book, but who in their right mind is gonna be hanging out in a sewer, huh? Rats, spiders, maybe. We work here, and we don't even like to go down there. I got a plate with my name written on it waiting for me at the Cheatin' Heart, so can we just do this? Close the thing the hell up.

Joe: Whatever you say, man.

Chelsea: Help! Somebody help me.

Joe: Did you hear that?

Chelsea: Help! Somebody get me out of here, please. Help!

Guy: I didn't hear anything.

Joe: I thought I heard a cry, like a cat or maybe a kid.

Guy: The only thing I'm hearing is a whistle blowing telling me that it's quitting time. Now, come on. Let's get this over with.

Joe: You're sure you didn't hear anything.

Guy :For the last time, just seal it up, and let's go.

Chelsea: [Coughs] Mom, dad, please be there. I need you right now.

Patrick: What do you mean, you're not going back? We talked about this. Salem is your home. Your work, your family, your whole life is there.

Hope: It was. Not anymore. Right now, there's really nothing for me to go back to Salem for.

Patrick: You know, you can't run away from your problems.

Hope: Isn't that what you're doing?

Patrick: Good point. But I wouldn't recommend it. Problems have a way of following you wherever you go.

Hope: I'm not running away from my problems, you know that? I just need some time on my own. And if that means saying goodbye to Salem, then so be it.

Patrick: Oh, yeah? Okay, then what's next? Where do you go from here?

Hope: [Sighs] I don't know. I -- I have no idea. For the time being, maybe, um, well, Morgan Island suits me just fine. Until I wear out my welcome, that is.

Patrick: Oh, come on. That's never gonna happen. You know that.

Hope: I like it here. I love the ocean. You know, all those years ago when Bo and I and Shawn would set sail on the Fancy Face... those were some of the happiest days of my life -- being out on the ocean, nothing else around as far as the eye could see.

Patrick: Sounds wonderful.

Hope: It was amazing. It was so peaceful. I never felt clearer about what was important in my life. God, I'd give anything to be out there right now.

Patrick: Yeah? All right. Then come on. Come with me. I got a surprise. Let's go.

Billie: Well, good. 'Cause for a moment there, you had me worried that you weren't gonna fight for your marriage, that you were just gonna give up.

Bo: You should know me better than that.

Billie: I do. And you're no quitter. You'll do whatever it takes to get Hope back.

Bo: Damn right I will. Thing is, in the past, I always knew that she loved me.

Billie: She still does love you. She always will. That's one thing you can count on.

Bo: [Sighs] That's what she said the day she gave me this ring. That's why I'll never take it off. It's a symbol of that love... just like the ring I gave her. "Till death do us part." I took that vow very seriously. Still do. And I -- I can't imagine my life without her.

Billie: You'll get her back. I know you will.

Bo: Hey, thank you for being there for me. I don't know that I would have made it through these last few days without you. [Cellphone rings]

Billie: Ah! Maybe that's her. It's Chelsea. Chelsea? Hi, where are you? Chelsea, are you there? Is that you? Chelsea? Hello, Chelsea?

Bo: What's going on?

Billie: I don't know. I don't know. She-she-she just didn't answer me and then the line went dead.

Bo: Well, hit redial. Call her back.

Joe: Now, you had to have heard that. [Cellphone rings] Somebody's down there. [Ringing continues]

[Up-tempo music playing]

Austin: All right. This is fun, huh?

Carrie: Oh, this is great.

Lucas: Yeah, not bad. I can't believe we've never done this before.

Austin: We lucked out. I mean, it's a beautiful night, not too cold.

Carrie: Oh, this is such a pretty song.

Austin: It is. You want to dance? I mean, that is if it's okay with you, Lucas.

Lucas: Yeah, it's fine. You guys go ahead.

Carrie: Are you sure you don't mind?

Lucas: No, its fine... as long as I get the next one.

Carrie: Absolutely.

Lucas: All right.

Carrie: Okay.

Austin: I'll have her right back. Thanks.

Lucas: Thank you.

Sami: Damn it, Lucas, what is wrong with you?

Lucas: Excuse me?

Sami: Come on, how could you let this happen?

Lucas: Sami, it's one dance. Relax.

Sami: I am not just talking about this stupid dance, Lucas. I'm talking about this whole night. You and Carrie are supposed to be celebrating your engagement alone, not here with us at this stupid carnival.

Lucas: We are celebrating our engagement, all right? We're having a great time. I think it's fine. They're dancing. I don't have a problem with that.

Sami: I think they're the ones having a great time dancing.

Lucas: You know what? I'm glad. I'm glad they're working out their problems. They're not living in the past. They chose to be friends. I'm fine with that.

Sami: You're glad?

Lucas: Yeah, I am glad. Carrie said that we're all gonna be a part of our lives, you know, forever, so we might as well make the best out of it and get along.

Sami: Austin said the same thing.

Lucas: Well, good. He's telling the truth. Funny thing is, you're gonna be my sister-in-law.

Sami: Guess that makes you my brother-in-law.

Lucas: Yeah. Pretty crazy, huh?

Sami: Not the word I'd use.

Lucas: It's still pretty funny. You know, you and me, brother- and sister-in-law. What do you say we bury the hatchet, bring some peace into this family?

Sami: That's fine by me.

Lucas: You mean that?

Sami: Yeah, of course I do.

Lucas: All right, fine. Let's dance, then.

Carrie: This was a great idea. Thanks for inviting us. You didn't have to.

Austin: I know I didnít. I just thought it would be fun, you know? It may not be the most romantic setting in the world to celebrate your engagement.

Carrie: I think it's incredibly romantic. Austin, I just want you to know how much it means to me that you're okay with me marrying Lucas. I was hoping we could be friends.

Austin: Oh, we'll always be friends. I just want you to be happy.

Carrie: I want you to be happy, too. And I really think you could be with Sami.

Sami: You, um, you do seem happy.

Lucas: I am. It's a dream come true for me to be engaged to Carrie. I always thought that she'd end up with Austin.

Sami: Everyone thought that, just like they thought that you and I were gonna end up together.

Lucas: Yeah, we almost did.

Sami: We came pretty close.

Lucas: You know what? Let's not talk about this, all right? Yeah, my mom did some bad things to come between us, but we should have trusted each other. I know I should have trusted you the one time I didnít.

Sami: Lucas --

Lucas: There's a lot of problems because of that, and I really apologize, all right?

Sami: I'm sorry, too.

Lucas: And I care a great deal about you. I want what's best for you. I just want you to be happy.

Sami: Thank you.

Lucas: And I hope that my brother forgives you. I hope he gives you another chance because you deserve it.

Joe: I know I heard a cellphone ringing, and it was coming from underground.

Guy: A cellphone. You're insane.

Joe: No, I'm not. Someone could be down there, so we need to check it out. Help me get this lid off.

Guy: No way. Forget it. No way we're gonna reopen this thing just 'cause an idiot dropped his cellphone down a sewer.

Joe: Then I'll do it myself. You go enjoy your beer.

Guy: All right, all right, fine. We'll open it up and have a look. If we get down there and there's some rat gnawing on a personal PDA --

Joe: Tell you what, if there is... your beer is on me.

Guy: Already is.

Joe: Hey, there is someone down here -- a young girl.

Guy: What? Are you kidding?

Joe: No, man, I think she's dead. There's a cellphone here. I'm gonna toss it up to you. Call 911 now.

Billie: Why doesn't she answer? She just called me.

Bo: If Chelsea needs you, believe me, she'll call back.

Billie: Well, but why? Why would she call me in the first place and then just not say anything?

Bo: Maybe it was a mistake -- she hit the wrong speed dial, lost the signal.

Billie: No, there was definitely somebody on the other line. And we weren't disconnected at first, and then it just went dead. What if she's in trouble?

Bo: Oh, don't go jumping to conclusions. She'll call back. [Cellphone rings ]

Billie: Maybe that's her.

Bo: Or maybe it's Hope. No, it's the station. I'll let the voice mail pick it up.

Billie: No, no, no. Don't do that. You should answer. It could be important. What if it is about Chelsea?

Bo: I doubt it. Brady. Oh, hey, Ruez. What's going on? Why are you calling me? Well, yeah, I know where that is, but I'm on leave. Why didn't you say so, man? I'm on my way. I got to go.

Billie: What's going on?

Bo: Apparently someone fell in a manhole and there's some kind of gas leak. I got to go.

Billie: Oh, my God. That's awful. Well, why are they calling you?

Bo: Well, apparently they want a detective on the scene. I'm gonna head over there now.

Billie: I'm going, too.

Bo: All right, let's go.

Hope: I can't get over how much this boat reminds me of the Fancy Face. It's practically identical.

Patrick: You know what? I didn't even realize. I'm sorry. Maybe this wasn't such a great idea. We can head back.

Hope: No, no, no, no. I think it was a wonderful idea. I don't want to head back.

Patrick: Okay, good.

Hope: I love this feeling. Complete freedom -- call it running away from your troubles or whatever, the world, but there's just nothing like it, being out on the ocean. You know, Bo and I, sometimes we would just take off, wouldn't even know where we were going, wouldn't even chart a course. We'd just take off, following the North Star.

Patrick: That sounds great. But, fortunately, for me, anyway, my buddy has a G.P.S. You know what? I'm gonna go check the lines.

Austin: Is this really what you want? You want me to be with Sami?

Carrie: I mean, uh... it's none of my business. I just, you know, I want the two of you to be happy.

Austin: Right.

Carrie: And she's changed. You said so yourself. And the two of you had something special once, and maybe you could again if you tried.

Austin: Okay. I plan to.

Carrie: Really? That's great.

Austin: You know, I don't know if it'll work out and if we'll end up together. But I figure we just take things slow and see what happens. We're both single, available. We loved each other once. What do we have to lose, right?

Carrie: Right.

Sami: Well, that's certainly a switch. When Austin first came back to Salem, you kept saying that he shouldn't give me another chance.

Lucas: Maybe I shouldn't have said that. You know, maybe I was bitter. You guys seemed happy in the past. I'm sure you could reach that level again.

Sami: We were happy until you exposed my lies and Austin left me at the altar. Story of my life.

Lucas: You gave me no choice. I had to do that. But maybe those days are behind you.

Sami: I hope so. We've been through a lot, you and me, as friends, enemies, lovers. If I get another chance at happiness, I'm not gonna ruin it. I'm going to make it work.

Lucas: I want what's best for you.

Sami: What? What is it?

Lucas: Uh, nothing. I was just remembering.

Sami: Remembering what?

Lucas: Remembering the last time we danced on the pier like this.

Sami: Oh, Lucas, you are the perfect height for me.

Lucas: Really this is the first time I heard that.

Sami: Well, I think it's just more proof that we're perfect for each other. Did you ever think that we might end up like this?

Lucas: Honestly? No, never.

Sami: Me, neither. You know, I actually thought I might miss fighting with you.

Lucas: Oh, yeah? Do you?

Sami: Well, we still fight. But making up with you is the most fun ever. Lucas, this is the happiest day of my life.

Lucas: Me too. I love you. I think I always have.

Sami: You think, huh? Well, me too.

Lucas: And I always will. I can't wait for us to spend the rest of our lives together.

Sami: You mean that night that we danced and you brought the boom box and we promised to spend the rest of our lives together? That's what you were remembering, isn't it?

Lucas: Yeah, that night.

Guy: Joe, I called 911. They're on their way. Can you get her out?

Joe: No, man, her foot's stuck. I don't want to hurt her.

Guy: So she's still alive?

Joe: Just barely. Her pulse felt really weak. Come on, sweetheart, wake up. You're gonna be okay. Just don't die on me.

Carrie: Austin, that's wonderful. I'm so glad that you're willing to try again with my sister. I hope it works out for you.

Austin: We'll see what happens.

Lucas: It seems like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?

Sami: It wasn't that long ago.

Lucas: No, but a lot's happened. A lot of things have changed.

Sami: You're right. But like you said, it's over. We just have to focus on the future.

Lucas: Yeah, mine with Carrie, and, hopefully, yours with Austin.

Sami: Right.

Austin: May I cut in?

Lucas: Yeah, sure. How was your dance with Austin?

Carrie: It was good. We had a nice talk. How was yours with Sami?

Lucas: Not bad. There's a chance that we could be friends.

Carrie: That's great. Austin wants to give Sami another chance. Maybe it'll work this time.

Lucas: I hope it does. But I don't want to talk about Austin and Sami anymore. I just want to focus on my beautiful bride-to-be. It just feels so good having you back in my arms.

Hope: It's you. I knew you'd come back.

Bo: Well, yeah. I told you I'd come back. Shawn D.'s all tucked away in his cute little bunk with his cute little teddy. It's just you and me. We got the rest of the night to ourselves.

Hope: We're out in the middle of the ocean. It feels like there's no one else in the world. Just you, me, and our son -- what could be more perfect?

Bo: Well, how about heading below, hmm?

Hope: Don't you think we should drop anchor first, Brady?

Bo: Nah. The North Star, it'll always be there to help us find our way.

Hope: As long as I have you... I know I'll always find a way.

Bo: I love you, Fancy Face.

Hope: I love you, Brady. I love you, Brady.

Guy: Joe, how is she? Did she come around?

Bo: Hey, just got a call somebody's trapped down there. What's going on?

Guy: We got a young girl down there. She's unconscious. I called 911. Are you a cop?

Bo: Yeah, Detective Brady.

Guy: Where the hell are the paramedics?

Bo: They're on their way.

Guy: They're not gonna get here in time, then. My buddy's down there. He says that she's barely breathing.

Bo: All right. I'll see what I can do.

Billie: Be careful, Bo, that gas leak.

Bo: All right.

Billie: All right, Chelsea, why haven't you called me yet? I'm getting worried. [Cellphone rings] That's my daughter's phone. Where did you get that?

Joe: You're gonna be all right. Help's on the way.

Bo: Hey, man, Salem P.D. What do you got going?

Joe: There's a girl.

Bo: Oh, my God, Chelsea!

Mimi: Shawn has no idea what a great father he's gonna be. I mean, he already is with Claire.

Belle: What?

Lucas: What is it? Why are you upset?

Patrick: Do you still love Bo?

Hope: Yes.

Billie: I don't want her to be by herself.

Bo: We'll figure a way to get her out of here.
