Philip: Are you sleepy, little girl? [Chuckles] You're not? Well, you had a very, very long day. And you know something? You and your mommy were the prettiest ladies at the wedding. And that makes me the luckiest man in the world because I have the best baby and the best wife in the whole world. And you two mean everything to me. What's wrong?

Belle: Nothing. I'm fine.

Philip: Come here. Come here. You're definitely not fine. You're crying again. And I know why.

Belle: You do?

Philip: Yes, I do. Because tonight you finally realized that you've lost Shawn for good, that you're never going to be with him again.

Shawn D.: Well, welcome home, Mrs. Brady!

Mimi: Okay, well, you can put me down now 'cause we're inside.

Shawn D.: Well, I figure the more thresholds I carry you over, the better the luck. But I am already the luckiest guy in the world. I'm married to you.

Mimi: I love you so much. I never thought I could be this happy.

Shawn D.: Today was the happiest day of my life. And tonight's gonna be even better.

[Up-tempo music plays]

Lucas: Look, I heard what you said to my mom earlier. You really meant it, didn't you?

Sami: Yeah. I really meant it. But don't worry, Lucas. I don't think we're gonna get back together. You've made yourself very clear.

Lucas: Sami, I've been doing a lot of thinking about us. And I think that --

Sami: Damn it.

Lucas: What? Oh, I don't believe it.

Sami: Well, Carrie chose Austin,'s to us -- losers to the end.

Carrie: There they are. We better go get this over with and tell them our news. Don't you think?

Austin: Wait a minute. There's something that I need to do first.

Carrie: What?

Austin: This.

Lexie: Okay, I want you to rest now. With the sedative I gave you, you should go right to sleep.

Marlena: Thanks.

Lexie: Mm-hmm.

Alex: Did you hear that, dear? You need your rest. We have a big day tomorrow.

Marlena: How could I forget? It's our wedding day.

Alex: Yes, it is. You get your sleep. I will see Dr. Carver out.

Lexie: You know, on second thought, I think I'll stay and keep an eye on her for a while, so if you wouldn't mind.

Alex: Oh, I do mind. You're wanting to stay to try and poison her against me. Absolutely not.

Lexie: She's my patient.

Alex: Uh-uh-uh-uh. Who you blatantly tried to manipulate while she was under your care. You are lucky that I have not filed a formal complaint.

Lexie: Hmm, you're one to talk about manipulation. I was only trying to help her. I thought she might be recovering her memory.

Alex: Oh, yes. Her memory of the great love for John Black. You can forget it, doctor. It's high time that you and the rest of Salem realize that she belongs to me and no one else.

John: If you think you're gonna marry Marlena and take her away... I'll blow your head off before that happens.

[Door slams]

Abe: If that's the case, John, you're under arrest.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Alex: What's it going to take for you to realize that Marlena loves me, not John? If she didn't, we wouldn't be renewing our vows tomorrow.

Lexie: As a doctor, Alex, and someone presumably concerned about Marlena's well-being, don't you think you should hold off on that? Not only is she still weak from the accident, she hasn't recovered her memory. And when she does, I am very sure the man she'll want to be with won't be you.

John: I thought you were my friend.

Abe: I am. But first and foremost, I have a duty to uphold.

John: Well, I hate to remind you, partner, but you're not officially back on the force, so you can't arrest me.

Abe: I hate to remind you. I'm still a member of the Police Commission. And I absolutely can and will take you into custody if you persist in taking the law into your own hands.

John: Abraham, you know as well as I do that Alex North is a killer and Marlena is his next target. If I don't do something to stop him, she is dead.

Sami: I can't believe it. I thought for sure that --

Lucas: That what? That Carrie would choose me?

Austin: Are you sure you really want to do this? You want to talk to Lucas?

Carrie: Yeah, I'm sure. I've made up my mind, and I have to let Lucas know.

Sami: Look, just forget about Carrie and Austin for a second. You were about to say something to me.

Lucas: Yeah, um, listen, Sami, I just --

Sami: Come on, no. Before -- before they even came in, you were gonna say something -- you've been thinking about us and you were gonna tell me -- Lucas, please. You were gonna tell me that you thought the two of us --

Carrie: Lucas, Sami... sorry to interrupt.

Sami: What is it?

Carrie: I need to speak to Lucas...alone.

Austin: Come on, Sami. I'll buy you a drink.

Sami: Sure.

Lucas: Look, it's all right, you know? It's pretty obvious that you've already made your decision on who you want to be with.

Carrie: I have.

Belle: You think that I'm upset about Shawn marrying Mimi?

Philip: I understand. You were Mimi's matron of honor. You had to stand at the altar as Shawn married your best friend. I know it was on your mind.

Belle: It was. Man, as hard as it was seeing him marrying her, I just -- the hardest thing was knowing that he moved on without me.

Philip: How could you just say that to me? Would you rather be with him?

Shawn D.: I know this isn't the most romantic place in the world...but we're going on our honeymoon tomorrow, and...that's gonna be perfect. You know what? This is already pretty perfect.

Mimi: No, no, no, stop, stop. We can't do this.

Shawn D.: W-w-w-what do you mean? We're married now. Father Jansen said it was okay.

Mimi: [Laughing] No, I mean in your grandmother's wedding dress. I mean, what if we tore it or something? Why don't you let me get out of it carefully, and you can go get some bottles of champagne?

Shawn D.: Okay, all right. All right, fine. I'll, uh -- I'll be right back. No, I'm going now.

Mimi: Go, I'll be waiting. Go!

Shawn D.: Fine!

Shawn D.: So, what did he send?

Mimi: All the little things I ever gave to him when we were together...and other stuff. Memories. He obviously doesn't want anything to do with me again. If I had any hope before, it's gone now. Yeah. Now I know Rex is never coming back.

Mimi: Oh, you think I would have learned. But I've done it all over again. I should have told Shawn he's the father of Belle's baby. He deserves to know the truth.

Shawn D.: The truth about what?

Marlena: John, I might not remember my past, but I have never -- I've never doubted your love.

Alex: You just need to rest.

John: My God, you are remembering. Is it about us?

Marlena: Well, it's not a memory, but it is about us.

John: What is it?

Marlena: I want a divorce.

Marlena: I remember you. I remember you. I don't love you. I love John.

Marlena: I am going to take...such good care of you. And this time you'll be the patient and I'll be the doctor. I can't wait to get you back to the penthouse.

Alex: Are you sure you want to go back there?

Marlena: I am. I want to go back there with you. I'm so embarrassed that I let John make me doubt my love for you.

Marlena: [Gasps]

Lexie: It's obviously pointless trying to argue with you.

Alex: Yes, it is.

Lexie: As Marlena's doctor, I am going to insist that she not go through with the ceremony tomorrow. She needs to wait until she is fully recovered, both physically and mentally.

Alex: So you're going to insist now, are you?

Lexie: Yes, I am.

Alex: Well, I am her husband, and I can decide what's best for my wife.

Marlena: I think that I can decide about that for myself.

Abe: I'm warning you for the last time -- don't do anything stupid! You know, if you go through with this plan to kill Alex, you're gonna end up back in jail, possibly for the rest of your life.

John: At least I know that she was safe.

Abe: Oh. So I guess Marlena's feelings in this don't matter.

John: Abraham...her feelings? In every thought, impulse, or so-called memory has been controlled by North from the day he got into town.

Abe: Well, that's not what I'm talking about. What if Marlena were back with you -- the real Marlena? Do you think she'd approve of cold-blooded murder or you taking anybody's life for any reason?

Sami: Look, um...I'm just gonna assume my sister has made her choice.

Austin: Yeah, she did.

Sami: Well, great. You know, I just...still don't think it's right the way that she put you and Lucas through so much waiting and [Sighs] Back and forth.

Carrie: I'm really sorry, Lucas, for keeping you hanging the way I did. I could have handled this a lot better, especially since you've been so good to me. You've been a wonderful friend. You've given me a job, a place to live. I could go on and on.

Lucas: Look, Carrie, I would do anything for you. I'll always feel that way. That's not gonna change. It's just...I was hoping for something more than a friendship.

Carrie: I know you were. And I know how deeply you care about me. It's not just words with you. You've proven it over and over again.

Lucas: You know, why don't we just cut to the chase, all right? You showed up here with Austin, and I saw you guys kissing. So I'll spare you having to break the bad news. I mean, it's pretty clear who you've chosen.

Austin: Carrie didn't mean to put...anyone through anything. It's not her fault that Lucas and I both love her.

Sami: Right.

Austin: She just needed some time to make her decision. After her breakup with Mike and everything that went on with me taking over her company, she's a little gun-shy -- you know, afraid of risking her heart. Who could blame her?

Sami: I'm not saying that I blame her. It's just obvious that she was gonna choose you, Austin. Why did she have to drag it out like that?

Austin: What a minute. What makes you think she chose me?

Carrie: You know what? You're jumping to conclusions.

Lucas: Well, it's easy to. You called up Austin. You said you wanted to see him. You show up here kissing. What else am I suppose to think? What -- are you telling me that you -- you're gonna choose my brother?

Sami: Austin, how can you even ask me that? Here's your drink. I mean, it's obvious that Carrie's loved you her entire life. And, you know, she's always wanted to be with you. Yeah, she cares about Lucas, too, but it's more like a friend thing there, and I --

Austin: Sami...she didn't choose me.

Sami: She didn't?

Carrie: No. I didn't choose Austin. I choose you. You're the one I want to be with.

Belle: No. No, Philip. Listen, I made my choice when I married you. You're my husband. I love you. It's just -- okay, this is gonna sound really conceited, but I just can't believe that Shawn moved on so fast.

Philip: Well, I know if I ever lost you, I would never get over it.

Belle: Mimi's great. They make a wonderful couple. I'm really happy for them. I am.

Philip: Well, let's face it. You never forget your first love.'s something that stays with you forever, and that's okay... because what we have is deeper. It's more mature. It's the real deal. It's not some childhood fantasy about what you think love is supposed to be, and she is our proof of that -- our commitment to each other. Come here. We're a real family now.. We'll always be there for each other.

Belle: Thank you.

Philip: Thank you for what?

Belle: Just for being understanding. I'm so lucky to have you.

Philip: I love you.

Belle: I love you, too.

Shawn D.: Okay. What are you talking about?

Mimi: When I was taking off my jewelry, I found these old love letters.

Shawn D.: Okay, and those are the ones that you wrote to Rex that he returned.

Mimi: Yeah. And when I saw them, it hit me. I'm afraid that our marriage could be headed in the same direction.

Shawn D.: What are you talking about?

Mimi: There are things that you don't know about that I should have told you before we got married.

Shawn D.: Whatever it is, it can't be that bad.

Mimi: It is.

Sami: Austin, what, are you kidding? When you came in, you and Carrie were kissing. If she didn't choose you, then what was that about?

Austin: That was a goodbye kiss.

Sami: Goodbye? Just like that?

Austin: Sami, you know me. If I thought it would do any good, I'd fight for her. But Carrie is very definite in what she wants. It's not me. It's Lucas.

Sami: Lucas.

Austin: What's wrong? You okay?

Sami: I just had never realized that I'd be losing Lucas to my sister.

Austin: Sami [Chuckles] Sami. See, no matter how many times you try to deny it, you are still in love with him, aren't you?

Sami: [Clears throat]

Lucas: Did I just hear you right? You want to be with me?

Carrie: Yes.

Lucas: But what about Austin?

Carrie: No. It's not happening.

Lucas: Look, Carrie, I know how you feel about him. Why don't you want to be with him?

Lexie: In my work-up on you, I did some genetic testing and discovered something disturbing. You and Austin...share a genetic marker that could be problematic.

Carrie: Meaning?

Lexie: Meaning if you have a child together, there's a high probability that he or she might have a genetic syndrome causing severe birth defects that could even be life-threatening. Carrie...from a medical point of view, Austin is the last man you should conceive a child with.

Carrie: I chose you because I thought that it would be possible for us to have a future together, a real future -- a family, everything that we both always dreamed about.

Lucas: That's amazing. That's -- that's wonderful. That's -- it's exactly what I want, but...there's one thing I got to ask you first. Are you still in love with my brother?

Sami: Look, Austin, I have told you a million times that there is no chance of me and Lucas getting back together again ever.

Austin: Really? I don't know, because when I came in tonight, it looked like something was going on between you two, like maybe my little brother was gonna take you back, give you another chance.

Sami: I don't know what would make you think that because that's never gonna happen, especially now that he has Carrie.

Carrie: I won't lie to you, Lucas. I do still love Austin. But he's my past, and you're my future. I really think that we could be happy together. I just need a little time. Would you mind taking things slow?

Lucas: No, of course not. That's fine.

Carrie: As you know, I'm anxious to start a family, but I want to make sure it's the right time with the right person, not that I have any doubts about you.

Lucas: Right, no, that's fine. I understand.

Carrie: And if it works out...well, I mean, you already have Will. Are you sure that you want another kid at this point, with me?

Sami: Look, Austin, obviously you're upset. Do you want to talk about you and Carrie and, you know, the shock, how hurt you must be?

Austin: No.

Sami: Look, you're gonna be fine. You're gonna meet some other girl. You're gonna move on with your life. You'll meet someone else.

Austin: I don't think so. Mmm. I-I'm gonna give up on love for a really long time. I'm gonna focus on my business and making it really, really successful because it is the least I could do for my shareholders and my employees. And it's all I can think about right now.

Sami: I don't want to hear that. Austin, you can't just give up on love. You're a great guy. You've so much to offer someone. You'll meet a girl, and you two will be happy.

Austin: Sami, Sami, Sami. That's enough. I'm okay. I'm gonna be fine. It's done. Carrie is gone. There is nothing left to fight for.

Sami: What about me?

Alex: I thought you were asleep.

Marlena: [Yawning] I heard arguing, and I woke up. What's going on?

Alex: Nothing I can't handle. Now, come on, back to bed.

Marlena: If you're talking about my condition, I'd like to be part of the conversation.

Alex: Ah, mm-hmm.

Marlena: Is there a problem?

Lexie: Yes, there is. I was just warning Alex that it is much too soon after your accident for you to be going out, exerting yourself. And I certainly don't think that you're up for this wedding tomorrow.

Marlena: Well, it's gonna be a very quiet, little ceremony.

Lexie: Well, even so, I'm sure it'll take its toll. Marlena, please promise me you'll wait and fully recuperate first, okay?

Marlena: No. No, I can't promise you that. But I will see how I feel when I wake up. Then we'll know.

Alex: Of course you will. And I'm sure you'll feel fine. All you need is a good night's sleep in your own bed and you will wake up feeling wonderful. I mean, how can you not, tomorrow being our wedding day?

Marlena: A good night's sleep -- that is just what I need.

Alex: Yes, it is. So, come on. Let's get you back to bed. Excuse us. All right. Up and in. Now, I promise that I will be very quiet and not wake you up again. You do need your rest. Sweet dreams.

Marlena: Good night.

Alex: Shall we? And good night to you, too, Dr. Carver. You are leaving now, even if I have to physically eject you.

Lexie: I'll be back to check on her again in the morning.

Alex: Oh, no, that won't be necessary. Your services are no longer required.

Lexie: That's up to Marlena.

Alex: No, that's up to me, and you will respect my wishes, or have you forgotten -- I know your nasty, little secret. And wouldn't it be a shame if that came up now, hmm -- I mean, you cheating on such a fine man as your husband with that young, cocky detective?

Lexie: You son of a --

Alex: I would not do that if I were you.

John: Marlena knows...or at least she will know just how far I will go to protect her. She also knows that it won't be the first time I've taken a life.

Abe: When you were under Stefano's control.

John: Abraham, you know the situation here. So you look me right in the eye and you tell me if this bastard were coming after Lexie, you wouldn't do the exact same thing. [Cellphone ringing]

Abe: I have to go. Look...I want you to think this through. Don't you do anything hasty or foolish. You know...we will figure out a way to handle this, partner. We will.

John: I'm out of options, Abraham. If I don't make my move now, it's too late.

Philip: You know something? I think it's past Claire's bedtime. And it might be past ours, too. You ready to hit the hay?

Belle: Yeah. Yeah, I'll be right there. I need to call my dad really quick. My mom came home from the hospital today. She's supposed to remarry Alex tomorrow, so he's a total mess.

Philip: Oh, my God. Um, well, you better go call him. I will put Claire down, and I will be waiting for you upstairs.

Belle: Okay, I'll be right there. I'm just gonna get some air.

Philip: Okay. Come here, baby. Aw, she's sleeping. Come here. All right.

Shawn D.: Hey, come on. After everything we have been through in the past year, I don't care about the small stuff.

Mimi: This isn't small stuff.

Shawn D.: Okay, whatever it is, there's a clean slate starting today. From now on, we promise to be 100% honest with each other, no matter what.

Mimi: Shawn, but --

Shawn D.: No, no, no. There's no "buts" here, okay? Whatever it is, we leave it in the past. From now on, I just want to focus on our future, okay?

Mimi: Oh, no, I can't do this. I have to tell you right now. This can't wait any longer.

Shawn D.: No, donít.

Mimi: No, I have to, Shawn. I have to tell you this tonight.

Shawn D.: Or what -- the world is gonna end? I don't think so. Hey...I love you, and you love me, and that is all that matters. That's all I care about, okay? Now, you look beautiful, and this is a beautiful dress. However, I was wondering, if I'm very careful, can I take you out of it?

Mimi: Um, I can take it from here. I'll just go change.

Shawn D.: No, no, no. Before you do that, why don't we have a little toast?

Mimi: Okay.

Shawn D.: Okay?

[Lifehouse's "You And Me" plays] To us. A long and happy life together.. What day is it? And in what month? This clock never seemed so alive I can't keep up and I can't back down I've been losing so much time 'cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do nothing to lose and it's you and me...

Belle: [Sniffles] [Sniffles]

Shawn D.: Your love made me a better person. I want to be that person again. But I can't do that without your help. I need your help. I love you so much.

Belle: I love you, too.

Shawn D.: I needed to hear that so much.

Shawn D.: You have to accept it. Mimi and I are getting married.

Belle: I just don't think that I can.

Shawn D.: Do you think it was easy for me when you and Philip got married? It hurt like hell, but guess what -- I just had to suck it up. You and Philip and Claire are a family now.

Belle: We are and we arenít.

Shawn D.: What does that mean?

Belle: It means that I still believe that you and I are meant to be together. Come on, we had the same dream.

Shawn D.: Don't, donít. Zack is the reason your daughter is alive right now.

Belle: I know, and all I want is to give her the best life possible.

Shawn D.: Don't you think that means her mother and father staying together?

Belle: But you're so good with her, and you love her so much.

Shawn D.: I'm not her father. Life doesnít always work out the way we want it to, okay? That is just a fact. Look what happened to Zack.

Belle: I know, and I'm sorry that I'm doing this to you, on today of all days.

Shawn D.: I understand. I've been there, too.

Belle: It just seems all wrong.

Shawn D.: Yeah, it is wrong. It is, and it was wrong when you didn't tell Philip how you really felt before he went overseas. You were gonna tell him lots of times, remember, but there was always a reason, and now -- now it is too late. I'm not saying this to hurt you. I am saying this because you have to let me go.

Belle: What if I can't?

Shawn D.: I don't want to talk about this anymore. I'm sorry. But you and I are finished.

Lucas: Are you kidding me? I would love to have another child. I would love to give Will a little brother or sister. I think it would be great.

Carrie: Good. I want to make sure we're on the same page before we go any further.

Lucas: 100%, definitely.

Carrie: But I do have to know something, too.

Lucas: Sure, what?

Carrie: Are you really over Sami?

Lucas:'re the one I've always wanted to be with. And now that, that's looking like it's a reality, it's a dream come true for me, so...I really want to make it work.

Carrie: So do I.

Austin: Sami Brady, what are you saying?

Sami: Look, Austin, I got my heart broken, too, okay? And if someone like you gives up, then I will, too. I have to believe there's hope out there...for both of us... especially for you. You didn't deserve this.

Austin: You know, I think that is one of the most honest, unselfish things that you have said in a very long time.

Sami: [Chuckles] Thank you, I think. Look, I meant it, Austin. If Lucas and Carrie want to be together, then there's nothing that either of us can do to stop them, just like you said.

Austin: Yeah. It's getting late. I'm gonna go home, get some work done.

Sami: What -- are you serious? At this hour?

Austin: Yeah, hey...why not? I could use the distraction, you know?

Sami: [Laughing] You can't just -- at least take a cab.

Austin: Hey, you listen to me. Don't you give up. There is someone out there for you. When you're'll find him.

Sami: I did it to myself. I've lost Lucas for good, but I'm gonna do whatever it get Austin. And we're gonna be together for good this time.

Lexie: Hey.

Abe: Oh, hey, there you are, sweetheart.

Lexie: Sorry I'm late.

Abe: Oh, that's fine. I'll just be glad when I can drive at night again.

Lexie: Yeah. I was over at Marlena's, helping her get settled in at the penthouse.

Abe: How is she? You know, John's really worried about her. You know, maybe you should talk to him.

Lexie: Honey, I don't see the point, you know? All I can tell him is that Marlena is determined to go through with this wedding...or vow renewal. It'd just upset him more.

Abe: Yeah, you're right. It's the last thing he needs. We best leave this alone. [Cellphone rings]

[Sighs] I better take this. Give me one minute.

Lexie: Yeah, of course.

Abe: Yeah, it's Abe Carver.

Lexie: [Thinking] I wish I could help you, John. You belong with Marlena, just as Carrie belongs with Austin. But because of my affair with Tek, so many lives may be destroyed, including mine and Abe's.

Alex: Don't worry, dear. You will be well enough...for our wedding tomorrow. Then I promise I'm going to take you away from here forever. And there's not a damn thing anyone can do to stop me.

John: Say goodbye to Marlena, Alex. It's time to die.

Kate: What are you gonna do, John? Are you gonna shoot him?

John: Well, you can't very well marry a dead man, can you?

Belle: What? What is it? You remember something, don't you?

Lexie: Just because Carrie doesn't want him doesn't mean he'll settle for you.

Mimi: You should enter Claire's birth date in the book.

Shawn D.: Actually, I don't know if we should. She's not a Horton or a Brady.

Mimi: Yes, she is.
