Sami: Oh, no. Will left his cellphone... and he's got a message... from Lucas. [Sighs] "Will, have gone out on a dinner date with Carrie at Chez Rouge. I'll see you later. Love, dad." [Door opens] Austin.

Austin: Hey.

Sami: Hi.

Austin: [Sighs]

Sami: Rough day?

Austin: Yeah. Yeah. I am starved.

Sami: There's no food in the house. We're gonna have to go out.

[Soft jazz plays]

Lucas: Eugenia.

Eugenia: Hi, Lucas. Hi, Carrie.

Carrie: Hi.

Lucas: What are you doing working here? I don't pay you enough at Titan? Is that it?

Eugenia: Of course you do.

Lucas: Well, then, why are we moonlighting? You're gonna make me seem like a bad boss in front of Carrie.

Eugenia: Not at all. He's a great boss, Carrie. He's kind, he's generous, and there's no glass ceiling at Titan Industries.

Lucas: Okay, laying it on a little thick. Pull back a little bit.

Eugenia: Mrs. Horton asked me if I could fill in tonight. She knew I used to be a hostess at Alice's. Since I didn't have any other plans, I figured, "why not?"

Lucas: That's nice of you.

Eugenia: So, are you guys here for dinner or drinks?

Lucas: Dinner, actually. We have reservations.

Eugenia: Yep. There you are. So, Lucas, I don't remember seeing this on your schedule. Is this a last-minute business meeting?

Lucas: No, this is strictly pleasure. [Clears throat] Carrie and I are on a date.

Billie: It's just that I haven't been able to get ahold of him. I don't know where he is, and I'm very worried. So you could you please put an APB out on Bo? Thanks, Roman. I appreciate it.

Chelsea: Hey, Mom.

Billie: Oh, my. You look nice.

Chelsea: Why, thank you.

Billie: Isn't it a little late to be going out?

Chelsea: It's not that late.

Billie: Well, Chelsea, under the circumstances, I think it's best if you stay home tonight.

Chelsea: Mom, I've been home all day. I need a change of scenery.

Billie: Okay, I know that you're out on bail and you are free to do whatever you want, but I think you should be on your best behavior. You want the Judge to be lenient.

Chelsea: Of course I do. God, I still can't believe I ran over my own little brother. I still have nightmares about it every night. And, I mean, I know I took away our whole family's happiness and Zack's whole life, so I don't deserve to go out and have fun. But --

Billie: That's not what I'm saying, Chelsea.

Chelsea: I just thought that if I saw people having fun, I could get my mind off things, you know?

Billie: But, Chelsea, think about how it's gonna look to the D.A.'s office if you are out partying and dancing and having a grand old time. It's gonna look like you don't care, that you have no remorse for what you did.

Chelsea: Yeah. Maybe you're right. It was a dumb idea.

[Keys drop]

Billie: Okay. How about we stay home and I'll make us some hot chocolate?

Chelsea: Oh, and we can play poker. I just learned how to play. I'll go grab the cards, okay?

Billie: Okay. Poker.

Billie: Ha! My straight beats your three of a kind!

Patrick: Damn.

Billie: I win! That's four in a row! Four in a row! Read it and weep. Gosh, I wish we were playing for money instead of just matchsticks. I'd be rich.

Patrick: Oh, yeah? Well, I'm willing to raise the stakes if you are, but I'm not thinking about money.

Billie: Really? Well, I'm game for whatever you are.

Patrick: Oh, yeah?

Billie: Mm-hmm.

Patrick: Well, let's get rid of these and get down to business.

Chelsea: Okay, I got the cards. We can just set up the table, and then we can play.

Billie: Okay. How about we play something else? How about gin rummy?

Chelsea: Gin rummy's boring. Why don't you want to play poker?

Billie: I just don't feel like playing.

Chelsea: Okay.

Billie: I'm sorry, Chelsea. Patrick and I used to play poker together.

Chelsea: You really miss him, don't you?

[Thunder rumbling]

Billie: You know... there was a time... when I thought we had something really special. Oh, I was wrong.

Patrick: What exactly are you saying, Billie?

Billie: I'm saying it was a mistake to ever get involved with you. We're finished.

Hope: Bo?

Hope: Being in this house is just so sad. I miss Zack so much. Everywhere I look, I see him... your dad, and the happy family...

Shawn D.: Mom --

Hope: ...That never will be again. I just need to -- I need to get away from Salem, your dad, everything. Otherwise, I really think that I may lose it.

Elaine: Excuse me. Is this seat taken?

Hope: No. Go ahead.

Elaine: Thanks. The flight attendant told me it was empty, but I wanted to be sure. I was sitting next to a guy who snoring to beat the band. He hasn't stopped since we took off.

Hope: Oh, that could be annoying.

Elaine: Hmm. I'm Elaine Whitman.

Hope: Hi.

Elaine: Honey, are you okay?

Hope: I'm fine.

Elaine: You look like you've lost your best friend.

Hope: You don't need to hear my life story.

Elaine: Well, whatever it is, I'm sorry.

Hope: So am I.

Bo: How could you do it, Hope? How could you take off without telling me where you're going? Damn it.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

[Cards shuffling]

Patrick: Okay, Billie. Let's see what you got.

Billie: Uh... I think you can already see what I've got. [Chuckles]

Patrick: I was referring to your cards, but, uh, I can see in strip poker how you would take that either way.

Billie: You're enjoying this, aren't you?

Patrick: Oh, and you're not?

Billie: Well, I would like to know why I'm suddenly losing. I mean, look at me. I have had to take off most of my clothes.

Patrick: I've noticed.

Billie: Are you cheating?

Patrick: No. We're not playing for matchsticks anymore. I'm very focused..

Billie: I've got to admit I like it when you're focused.

Patrick: Hmm. You gonna show me your hand?

Billie: A pair of 8s.

Patrick: Hmm. A pair of 5s.

Billie: I win. Now you have to take off your --

Patrick: Uhh! Not so fast. Another 5. You lose.

Billie: You're full of tricks, aren't you?

Patrick: No, no, no. I just have a good incentive. [Inhales deeply] Well, I'm waiting.

Billie: Never let it be said that I'm a bad sport. [Sighs]

Patrick: Unh -- now, you know what will happen if you do that?

Patrick: [Thinking] I thought the next time I came back here, I'd be bringing you with me, but that's never gonna happen.

Hope: Anyway, I haven't been on a vacation in a long time.

Elaine: I guess that's why you're going to the Islands, huh -- to get away from your problems, have a little fun? You know what? After we get settled in our rooms, we should get together for drinks. What do you say we get together for a couple of frozen margaritas or piña coladas? See and be seen.

Flight Attendant: Attention, passengers. The pilot has asked that you return your seats to their upright position and make sure your tray tables are secure as we prepare for landing.

Bo: Well... that was a nice surprise.

Hope: I don't want to lose you. I don't want to lose what we have, Bo.

Bo: Hope, that's not gonna happen. I meant what I said before. Things are gonna be different. You and the boys -- you're my priority -- no matter what.

Hope: I know it must be hard being pulled in two different directions.

Bo: It's no excuse. I should have been here tonight for my son.

Hope: You're here now, and it looks like you made a difference.

Bo: Well, he's afraid of losing Belle. I think he finally realized if he doesn't change his act, that could happen.

Hope: A lot could still happen. I just wonder if they'll make it through this.

Bo: When two people love each other enough, they can make it through anything.

Hope: Are you talking about them or us?

Bo: Mm-hmm.

Billie: [Sighs] Whatever Patrick and I had -- it's over.

Chelsea: Because of me.

Billie: No. Patrick and I didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things.

Chelsea: But the main reason is because he didn't want to see you go to jail for something I did. I feel horrible about that.

Billie: Well, you shouldn’t.

Chelsea: You know, I just don't see why you were so hot and bothered by him, anyway.

Billie: Oh, really? Probably for the same reasons you were so hot and bothered over him.

Chelsea: Yeah, he is pretty hot.

Billie: Yeah. Pretty hot. And smart, dependable. Yeah. I am sad that things didn't work out between us.

Chelsea: Mom, you act like he's the only guy in the world worth looking at.

Billie: Are you suggesting there are other men like that out there?

Chelsea: Well, not a lot, but there are definitely some -- like my dad.

Billie: Oh, all right. Let's not go there again.

Chelsea: I'm just trying to help.

Billie: Help whom? Chelsea, Patrick was right. Your moral compass is whacked.

Chelsea: He said that? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Billie: It means that your father is married. He's unavailable.

Chelsea: Yeah, but he shouldn't be married, Mom. She treats him like dirt, and Patrick's full of it.

Billie: Okay. The only reason you want your father and I together is because you think that'll somehow help you in your court case.

Chelsea: You know that's not the only reason. I just think that the man you really love needs you right now. He's hurting so much. He just lost his son, and his wife just kicked him out of the house. Right now he feels like he has no one. And the question is, are you gonna do anything about it?

Bo: We got to say goodbye now.

Hope: [Crying] I can’t.

Bo: Okay. Shh. Shh.

Hope: [Sobbing]

Bo: Zack... my boy... all the wonderful dreams I had for you -- your future, what you'd be when you grew up. I'm very proud of you. You could have been anything you wanted.. [Sniffles] I have been given the best gift I could ever have. I'll always consider myself the luckiest man alive... 'cause I got to be your dad. I hope you know that, son. I love you.. Hope --

Hope: No, I can’t.

Bo: Hope... just tell him what's in your heart. That's all you got to do..

Hope: You are my heart, baby. [Sniffles] You made me so happy... like when you'd say to me at night -- and you'd kiss me and you'd squeeze me and you'd say, "mommy, I love you so, so, so much." I love you, baby. I love you so, so much. Always. Always. Always, baby. Oh, baby.

[Motor roaring]

Eugenia: I hope you two have a really, really good time tonight.

Lucas: Yes, that's the plan.

Carrie: I'll be right back. I'm going to freshen up.

Lucas: Sure. Sure thing.

Eugenia: You dirty dog. You did it.

Lucas: Relax. Relax. It's just a first date, all right?

Eugenia: Oh, Lucas, I have faith in you.

Lucas: Yeah? Well, I am gonna do my best.

Eugenia: [Chuckles]

Marcia: Carrie. Carrie Brady.

Carrie: Yeah?

Marcia: Marcia Kelly. We worked together at the hospital for about two seconds.

Carrie: Oh! Of course. How are you?

Marcia: Great. And obviously you're great, too. I hear you're dating Kate Roberts' son again.

Carrie: Wow. News travels fast.

Marcia: No offense to Mike Horton, but I always knew you and Austin were soul mates.

Austin: Sami, I spent the last three hours in a meeting with Larry Tate and Ned Giles, and the last thing that I want to do is go out.

Sami: The company's okay, though?

Austin: Yeah, the numbers -- they're great.

Sami: Good. Good. Um, well, I guess after, you know, we didn't eat the dinner that I made last night, I didn't go grocery shopping today.

Austin: I apologize. I know how hard you worked at fixing that dinner.

Sami: Oh, it's okay. Don't worry about it. You know what? I have some delivery menus. We can order in.

Austin: You know what? You know what? Hey, you know what? You've been working really hard. You've been stuck inside all day. I think it would do us both some good to get out.

Sami: Really?

Austin: Yeah, really.

Sami: Okay. Well, where do you want to go?

Austin: I don't know. You pick the place.

Sami: I do have some good ideas.

Elaine: Things are getting interesting even before we get off the plane. Two rows back, People Magazine's "Sexiest Men" Issue -- stop the presses.

Hope: I'm not interested.

Elaine: Just get a load of this guy. I promise you'll change your mind. Darn. He must have gotten off the plane already.

Mario: Patrick. Welcome back, my friend.

Patrick: It's good to be here. Thanks for meeting me, man.

Mario: Sure. So, what brings you back? Your message didn't say.

Patrick: Oh, it's a long story.

Hope: I think this is going to be just what I need.

Elaine: It's paradise. Wait and see. Excuse me. I want to make sure my bag arrived.

Hope: Okay. Uh, excuse me. Hi. I'm looking for a rental -- something remote, off the beaten path, as much solitude as possible.

Attendant: I understand. Let's see.

Hope: I'd really love something on the beach, maybe a beach house.

Attendant: How does this look? A private beach. The owner rents it out when he's not here. All the solitude you could possibly want.

Elaine: I'll save you a seat on the shuttle bus. On the ride in, we could plan our manhunt.

Hope: [Sighs] This is the rate?

Attendant: Yes, it is.

Hope: I'll take it. It looks perfect.

Billie: Don't do that, Chelsea.

Chelsea: Don't do what?

Billie: Play on my feelings for Bo -- encouraging me to go after him. It's wrong!

Chelsea: Why, because he's married to Hope?

Billie: Yeah. That's a pretty good excuse, don't you think?

Chelsea: Mom, they are separated, and Hope will probably never take him back.

Billie: Well, if she doesn't, it's because of what I did.

Chelsea: Mom, all you did was try to keep me out of jail. If Hope thinks that dad was cheating with you, it's only because he's done it before. Why? Because he loves you. And you love him, too. I mean, I've heard you say it before, Mom. He's the only man you've ever truly loved. And let's face it -- you've been with a lot of guys.

Billie: What did you just say?

Chelsea: Come on, Mom. Everybody knows you used to be like a porn star. I mean, you basically slept with complete strangers if the price was right, and now you won't even go after the one man you've ever really loved.

Billie: Wow. You really are something, aren't you?

Chelsea: What?

Billie: When I think about how happy I was the day that your father and I found you...

Chelsea: And now you're not?

Billie: You hurt people, Chelsea -- deliberately -- and I think you get some enjoyment out of it! I remember I used to dream about what would happen when I finally found you. I used to think about building a relationship with you. I used to think about all the cool mother/daughter talks we could have. I never, in a million years, thought you would ever talk to me like that. I don't know what I was thinking.

Chelsea: Look, I'm sorry if I hurt you, Mom.

Billie: Are you? Are you really?

Chelsea: Yes. I am really sorry. And I realize that we haven't had the greatest relationship, but I do care about you a lot, even though I don't really know that much about you. And that's yet another reason why I feel bad about going to jail -- because then I'll never have the chance to really get to know you. And all I was trying to say before is...if you love dad as much as I think you do, I just think you two should be together... especially now.

Billie: It's not that simple, Chelsea. Bo loves Hope. They belong together.

Chelsea: You think that dad belongs with someone who doesn't trust him, who can't forgive him because his daughter screwed up?

Billie: It's complicated.

Chelsea: It doesn't seem that complicated to me. Hope left him, Mom, and dad is all alone by himself off doing God knows what with no one to talk to. He needs you. And I'm sorry, but I don't really feel awful in saying that you are the person that should be there for him.

[Motor roars]

Joe: That was Detective Brady. The Captain's got an APB out on him.

Officer: Officer Casarez here. Detective Brady was just sighted traveling South on Route 7. Should we pursue? You got it. They're sending someone else after him.

Joe: Brady better slow down. This fog is deadly.

[Motor roaring]

Carrie: Uh, Marcia, I'm not with Austin anymore.

Marcia: You're not?

Carrie: No. I'm -- I'm here with Lucas Roberts. He's another one of Kate's sons.

Marcia: [Chuckling] Oh. Well, as you can see, I haven't changed much. I still have a knack for putting my foot in my mouth. I am really sorry.

Carrie: Don't be. If you'll excuse me, though, I'm gonna get back to Lucas. It was nice seeing you. Take care.

Lucas: Oh, hey.

Carrie: Hi.

Lucas: Let me help you.

Carrie: Thank you.

Lucas: Here we are.

Carrie: Thank you.

Lucas: So, how you feel? You hungry?

Carrie: I'm in no rush.

Lucas: Good. Me, neither.

Carrie: Okay, good.

Lucas: [Clears throat] [Chuckles]

Carrie: [Chuckles]

Lucas: What?

Carrie: Believe it or not, I'm a little nervous.

Lucas: I am so glad you said that. I-I feel the same way. I'm kind of a wreck.

Carrie: I've been feeling this way ever since you asked me. I can't explain it. I mean, it's different. We've been friends forever, and it's just like something new is happening.

Lucas: Well, yeah, but that's not bad, is it?

Carrie: No, I-I don't want us to be nervous with each other. I mean, there's no reason to be, right?

Lucas: No. Being friends makes everything easier.

Sami: So, um, you don't have anything until 10:00, huh? Yeah. Yeah. No. Thanks, anyway. So I guess everyone really is eating out more these days.

Austin: You couldn't get a reservation?

Sami: No. I called Lady Vi's. I called the Penthouse Grill, Salem Inn, Blue Note. I couldn't get us in anywhere until after 10:00. I guess we could go to Alice's, but I swear the last time I ate there, there was something in my chili.

Austin: Yummy.

Sami: [Laughs] Stop it.

Austin: Let's go to Chez Rouge.

Sami: Are you sure? We'd have to get dressed up.

Austin: Yeah. I'll go change. If worse comes to worse, we'll try someplace new.

Sami: Sounds good to me. Perfect. Now Austin knows it was his idea to go there, and when he sees Lucas and Carrie moving on, he'll know that we need to move on, too.

Billie: Chelsea, I am as concerned about Bo as you are, but I am not gonna take advantage of the situation, especially when he is as vulnerable as he is.

Chelsea: I don't call it taking advantage of the situation, Mom. I think that if you love somebody, you should be with them because they need you. Isn't that what true love's all about, anyway? I mean, knowing the other person's needs before they do. And, look, if you want our relationship to get better, I -- [ Sighs] I just think that if you and dad were together, then I would think of you more as my real parents.

Billie: What is this, blackmail?

Chelsea: No, of course not, but come on, Mom. Every child wants their parents to be together. Just because I'm 18 doesn't make it any different.

Billie: Chelsea, we were never the three of us together as a family, so don't compare yourself to kids who have had to live through their parents' divorce.

Chelsea: That's my point.

Billie: What is your point?

Chelsea: I would think of you both as my parents more. I mean, it would be easier if we had all been living together. And I'm sorry, but I can't help but still wish that we had a chance for that.

[Telephone rings]

Billie: Excuse me. Yeah? Roman. Yeah, what have you heard? When was this? Yeah. Yeah, I got a pretty good idea of where he's heading. Okay. Thanks.

Chelsea: Was that about dad?

Billie: Uh, I'll call you when I find him.

Attendant: Ms. Brady?

Hope: Uh, yes?

Attendant: Ready to see your Tropical Hideaway?

Hope: All set.

Attendant: For you.

Hope: Thank you. What an unusual flower. It looks like -- I don't know -- some kind of Orchid?

Attendant: It's a rare Hybrid grown only on our Island.

Hope: Well, it's beautiful. Thank you.

Attendant: It blooms this time of year for a very short time. To the Natives, it's a sign of rebirth and redemption, and it brings good luck.

Hope: Well, I could certainly use a little of that.

Attendant: And there's something more.

Hope: More?

Attendant: When someone gives this flower to a lovely visitor such as yourself, it has a special meaning. Would you like to hear what it is?

Hope: Sure.

Eugenia: Good evening, Austin.

Austin: Good evening.

Eugenia: Samster.

Sami: Wow. So, what happened? New job of the month? Titan finally wised up and fired you?

Eugenia: No. I still have my day job, but thank you very much for asking.. Mrs. Horton asked me if I could help out -- as a friend -- but then you wouldn't know anything about that whole friendship thing, now, would you?

Sami: Why don't you just take us to a table?

Eugenia: Of course. Follow me.

Austin: Well, this is a nice start to our evening.

Sami: [Exhales sharply]

Carrie: Ooh, yeah.

Lucas: What do you have? Oh, I got that, too. They have some salads.

Austin: Oh. And it keeps getting better. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you set this up.

Sami: [Scoffs]

Lucas: Great. Just what we need.

Austin: Eugenia, can you bring us a bottle of this -- I don't know -- I can't pro-- that Chardonnay?

Eugenia: Okay. No problem.

Sami: You know what? This was a bad idea. I had no idea they'd be here. Let's just go.

Austin: No. No, let's stay and have a nice dinner.

Sami: Okay. Let's just ignore the fact that Carrie and Lucas are on a date.

Austin: What makes you think they're on a date?

Lucas: Look, I'm really sorry. I had no idea that Sami and Austin were gonna be here. I'll tell you what. We can leave right now -- no problem.

Carrie: It's okay.

Lucas: Are you sure?

Carrie: There is no way that I'm gonna let my sister or Austin ruin our evening.

Lucas: Well, good, 'cause I'm having a great time here with you tonight. In fact, I have a confession I'd like to make. You were my first real love, Carrie.

Carrie: I was?

Lucas: Yeah. Yeah, which is why I'm so happy to be here tonight. Of course, I think I just broke the cardinal rule of dating. I probably just scared you away, didn't I?

Carrie: What cardinal rule is that?

Lucas: Well, you don't tip your hand on the first date. It's not too bright.

Carrie: Well, actually, there's an even more important rule of dating -- to be honest. And if that's what you're being...

Lucas: I am. Yeah.

Carrie: ...Then you haven't scared me away at all.

Lucas: Well, good. That's really good 'cause I-I come from a corporate world, and when you negotiate, you got to hold information back or else you blow the deal.

Carrie: This isn't a negotiation, and I'm sure you're just as honest in your business dealings, unlike someone else that I know.

Lucas: Yeah.

Carrie: Would you like to dance?

Lucas: Yeah. I'd love to. Come on.

Sami: You know what? You're right. Maybe they're not on a date. Maybe they just came here to celebrate some kind of business thing.

Austin: Thank you.

Eugenia: They're on a date. Lucas told me so himself.

[Motor roaring]

Billie: I can't believe he's out driving his motorcycle on a night like this. What -- what was he thinking? Slow down, Billie. You can barely see 3 feet ahead of you. Oh, no! Bo's motorcycle.

Eugenia: There you go. Let your waiter know when you're ready to order.

Austin: We will. Thank you.

Eugenia: Mm-hmm.

Sami: You know, let's just go. We can go home, order Chinese Food.

Austin: No, I'm fine. I'm fine.

Sami: You look miserable.

Austin: I'm just tired. I spoiled the dinner last night. I'm not gonna spoil this one. I want to stay.

Sami: Even with Carrie here? I mean, Austin --

Austin: Lucas is here, too. If you can handle seeing your ex-fiancé moving on, then I can handle seeing Carrie moving on, too.

Sami: Your half brother, my half sister. Your ex and my ex. What are the odds of us running into them like this tonight?

Austin: In this town, pretty damn good.

Sami: [Chuckles] Hopefully soon, it won't bother us anymore, right?

Austin: That's right. Here's to moving on.

Sami: To moving on.

Lucas: Oh, that's a coincidence.

Carrie: What's that?

Lucas: It looks like Sami and Austin are on a date, too.

Mario: So, no woman with you this time, huh? You're slipping, man.

Patrick: Come on. It's called traveling light.

Mario: [Chuckles]

Patrick: Seriously, the opposite sex is a sore subject with me, Mario. There's nobody in my life, and I figured my house down here was a good place to be alone. Just the sand, sun, surf, and yours truly. Let's go.

Hope: This flower -- you said it had another meaning.

Attendant: If a visitor to the Island receives it from a Native, she will find love during her stay here.

Hope: And you're a Native.

Attendant: And you're a Visitor.

Hope: Nice legend, but I'm --

Attendant: No, please. It is written. I have never seen it fail.

Hope: I'll bet you give this flower to every woman who comes here.

Attendant: You're too cynical, my dear. As I told you, it grows for a very short period of time. As a result, very few women are given one. You'll see. Love is gonna find you while you're on this Island.

TV: And we have just 11 left. Phone right now with a major credit card, and this beautiful zircon ring can be yours. And if you call in the next 5 --

[Tv shuts off]

Chelsea: Come on. Trusty Credit Card, where are you? I hope you're not maxed out. Zack. I never meant to hurt you. And I know I can't ever make it up to you for you what I did, but I am trying to change. I really am. For once, I am trying to do what's right. I know that this is right.

Billie: Bo, where in God's name are you? You couldn't be too injured if you walked this far.

[Shivers] [Gunshot] Oh, my God. It was a gunshot.

Bo: Ah. [Gun cocks]

Billie: Ow!

Bo: What the -- Billie.

Shawn D.: Are you getting cold feet about marrying me?

Hope: Bo moved on with someone else, so there's really no marriage for me to go home to.

Frankie: I thought it was us.

Jennifer: Yeah, me too.

Frankie: I guess we're not the only ones celebrating tonight.
