Sami: [Gasps] Oh, my gosh, Austin. This is so incredible. Thank you for inviting me to the Rolling Stones concert.

Austin: Yeah, well, we won the tickets. It was just too bad that Nicole got stuck working.

Sami: Well, you only have two -- are you saying you would rather have invited Nicole to the concert?

Austin: No, no, no --

Sami: Good, good! I'm glad because I am so excited to be here. Austin, do you remember the time that we got tickets right before we got engaged and we were gonna see the Stones, but Will had the flu so we ended up not being able to go, but I never thought I'd really get to see them live, and here we are! This is so incredible. Thank you so much for inviting me, Austin.

Austin: This is awesome. Let's go.

Carrie: I cannot believe you got these seats an hour before the show -- less.

Lucas: Hey, come on. It's one of the perks about working for Titan.

Carrie: Thank you so much, Lucas. I mean, after the day I've had, I already feel a thousand times better.

Lucas: It's not like I wasn't dying to see the Stones, too. They're like the greatest rock 'n' roll band of all time. Are you kidding me?

Carrie: [Giggles] Oh, no, I forgot to call Becky. My assistant.

Lucas: Oh, oh, right. Carrie, you're never gonna be able to hear a thing here. It'll be too noisy. Can't it wait till tomorrow or something?

Carrie: I wish. We need to fax in the catering contract for the employees' Christmas party by midnight. Um, you know what? I bet if I go up to the concessions, I'll be able to get reception.

Lucas: Well, hurry up. I'll wait here for you.

Carrie: No, no, no, no. Go to your seat. Don't worry. I'll be back before it starts. I won't miss a second of the show.

Sami: Wow. Austin, this line is long.

Austin: Okay, I'm gonna wait in line for some sodas. You want something to eat?

Sami: No, no, we just ate dinner, so maybe later.

Austin: Okay, oh, here. Why don't you go ahead, find our seats, and I'll meet you there.

Sami: Okay.

Mimi: [Sighs] I can't wait to get out of these shoes and these clothes and de-stress. It's a terrible night.

Shawn D.: It doesn't feel right being home. I want to go back to the hospital.

Mimi: Shawn, Belle made it very clear that the only person she wants there with her is Philip.

Shawn D.: Okay, so if we're not there, then we should go to St. Luke's. We should be praying for the baby. What -- what is all this? What's going on?

Mimi: Oh, you know, Christmas comes at the end of the year, you know, December. People celebrate the birth of baby Jesus and give each other presents. You must have heard of it.

Shawn D.: You did all this?

Mimi: My mom helped. You know, I just thought if we ever needed a little Christmas it was now.

Shawn D.: Well, we sure could use a Christmas miracle for Claire.

Mimi: All right, babe. Sit down, please. Relax, like Lexie said. I'm gonna get some fluids in you, get you something to eat. Okay, yes, we all know what my cooking is like, but I'm sure I can find something that will suffice.

Shawn D.: Well, I'd take some leftover mac and cheese if you got it. No, I'm kidding. I'm not hungry.

Mimi: Shawn, you just gave three pints of blood in the last two days. Lexie said she would have put you on an IV if she had to. And I really, really admire what you did for Claire, but if anything had happened to you --

Shawn D.: I'm fine, I'm fine.

Mimi: No, you're not fine. Look at you.

Shawn D.: Okay, how can I be when Claire is sick? Are you fine?

Mimi: Of course I'm upset, too. I mean, Claire is our Goddaughter, and Belle and Philip are our best friends.

Shawn D.: All I can think about is the baby, and I have this weird connection to her, and I don't know why.

Nurse 1: So Shawn Brady's blood matched a little girl's, but her own father's didn't?

Nurse 2: Yeah, can you believe it? That's what I heard.

Shawn D.: okay?

Mimi: Yeah. I want to make us some hot chocolate.

Shawn D.: No, I can't do this. I can't sit around here and pretend like everything is merry and fine when Claire might not make it through the night. I'm going back there.

Mimi: No, Shawn, if anything happens to Claire that we should know about, Belle and Philip will call us, okay? The last thing we need is for you to collapse again.

Shawn D.: Okay. All right, I will go lay down and try and take a nap, and then when I wake up, I'll call the hospital, see if there's any news.

Mimi: Good.

Shawn D.: Hey, hey.

Mimi: What?

Shawn D.: It's kind of nice having you worry about me.

Mimi: Okay, I need to figure out why Shawn's blood was a match to Claire's but Philip's wasnít.

[Computer keys clacking]

Hope: Ooh, 3!

Bo: Good spin.

Zach: 1, 2, 3... 4, 5, 6...

Bo: Hey, hey, hey.

Hope: This is how he wins.

Bo: Yeah. You know, you got to take it easy on your old man here.

Hope: Come here, sweetie.

Bo: You already won three hands of go fish. Your move, mommy.

Hope: Face it, our kids are smarter than we are.

Bo: Yeah. Hey, Zach, Zach, did you have fun with your sister, Chelsea?

Hope: Daddy's talking to you. Did you have fun with Chelsea?

Zach: Yeah.

Hope: You did? Well, you know what? She wants to get to know you better. Hey, isn't that nice you have a sister now, huh? Hey, honey, it's your turn. Bo, I just wanted to mention one thing.

Bo: What?

Hope: Until Chelsea can show us she can be more responsible, I'd really rather her not be alone with Zach.

Bo: Hope, that's --

Hope: And I don't want her driving him anywhere, either. Please?

Bo: Okay, well, that I understand, but, I mean, I think she got the message that I will not tolerate her speeding. Even though we're on the police department, if she breaks the law, she'll pay the consequences.

Hope: Too bad she didn't pay the consequences last time. After everything that happened with the Bensons, you'd really think she'd be more careful. Just promise me you'll talk to her again. Please.

Bo: Yeah, I'll talk to her.

Hope: Thank you.

Bo: Mm-hmm.

Hope: She's just come back into our lives. It would be awful to lose her over a senseless accident.

[Rock music blares]

Chelsea: Christmas stockings and eggnog? Please. Could this night get any more lame? Hey, yeah, if I could just get the movie times for -- oh, my God!

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives.

Brown: Can you tell me if she's alive?

Man: Not until we get her out of the vehicle.

Man 2: Both doors are jammed.

Man 1: Got to get the chain saw.

Man 2: You just pray this time it doesn't collapse.

Hope: Sweetie, mommy's gonna leave this right here for you. Don't spill it on the carpet. Try, okay? I love you. You gonna build a cage for the dinosaurs?

Bo: You know, Chelsea's impulsive.

Hope: Thank you.

Bo: The thing I'm worried about is something might happen and she won't use her head. She'll do something reckless like speeding.

Hope: Must be genetic.

Bo: I was waiting for that.

Hope: Mm-hmm. Hey, between Shawn and Chelsea, I would have to say that our children are conspiring to make us prematurely gray.

Bo: Well, if they're a little bit reckless, they come by it honestly.

Hope: That's a nice way of putting it.

Bo: Okay, they take after their dad. When I was their age, all I wanted to do was speed around on my motorcycle. Chelsea's the same way. She -- she got that brand-new sports car of hers, and all she wants to do is show off, running around like that Max, you know? Professional sports-car driver. She'll learn her lesson. I mean, I did.

Hope: I just don't want her to have to learn that lesson the hard way.

Bo: Yeah.

Hope: You know, maybe if she feels accountable for someone other than herself maybe it would make a big difference. But, then again, I have to wonder.

Bo: What?

Hope: After losing her parents and everything that ever mattered to her, I just wonder if she cares enough about what could actually happen to herself. But, then again, you two are starting to get very close, and I know that's going to make a difference.

Bo: [Exhales deeply] I hope so. I mean, I feel like I'm walking a thin line here. I am trying to make up for not being there for her when she was growing up, but I -- I don't know. I got a soft spot for her.

Hope: You think?

Bo: She's my little girl.

Hope: I know.

Bo: And, you know, having a daughter is a little bit different than what I thought it would be.

Hope: It is.

Bo: And maybe...maybe her getting a ticket is what should happen if she's, you know, driving over the speed limit.

Hope: Well, when you think of all the things that can go wrong when you're driving even when you are being responsible -- I mean, look what happened to Jack, the Bensons, my mom.

Bo: Oh.

Hope: We just found Chelsea. If something were to happen to her... I can't even imagine if... I can't even say it. I can't even think it. [Sighs] The thought of losing a child? Oh, my God. My mind can't take that.

Bo: Yeah. When Billie and I thought that our baby was stillborn, we went through hell. I love Chelsea an awful lot. I'm never gonna let her out of my sight.

Hope: I remember when we said the same thing about J.T.

Hope: You've always been my hero, Brady. You've saved my life more times than I can even remember, but I need your help now. Please, save me. Save our son. Yes, ours -- our son. J.T. doesn't belong to anybody else but us.

Bo: Wishing doesn't make it so.

Hope: It's all I have. I have my faith in you. I know you can keep them from taking our son. I know you can. Please. Please. [Sniffles] Please.

Shawn D.: Your new baby is gonna have [Sniffles] A great big brother.

Glen: He learned from the best.

Shawn D.: Yeah.

Bo: [Smooches]

Hope: Hey, big guy. [Sniffles] You're my little angel, you know that? Hey, I don't want you to be sad. We'll be okay. Because mommy is always gonna be with you. You're always gonna be right here in my heart. I promise you.

[Sniffles] I think it's better if you just go. It's better for J.T. if you go quickly please.

Bo: Yeah, uh, why don't you go out the back? Then you don't have to hassle with that crowd out front. Hand me your keys. I'll have your car brought around.

J.T.: Bye.

Hope: [Sobbing] Bye, J.T. I love you, honey. Mommy loves you, J.T. J.T.. [Sniffles] I love you, honey. I love you. Oh, my God. He's gone. He's gone.

Hope: I'm so grateful we still get to see him. Even though it hurts like hell every time we have to say goodbye. [Sighs] I wonder if Lexie feels the same way every time she sees Zach. I'm sure she does. I'm sure her heart still aches every time she sees our beautiful little guy.

Mimi: Rex would know more about this blood-type stuff. Damn it. I should have paid more attention in biology.

[Doorbell rings] Hmm. Mom, hey.

Bonnie: Hey, just checking up on my baby. A girl can never have too much mistletoe. That's my motto. And some cider. Just heat this up with a little cinnamon and a little whiskey, and you and Shawn will be good to go.

Mimi: Thanks.

Bonnie: Yeah. So how is Philip and Belle's baby? Poor little thing.

Mimi: Actually, um, Father Jansen gave her last rites.

Bonnie: Oh, my God. Poor Belle and Philip.

Mimi: Yeah.

Bonnie: Wow. Well, don't tell me Shawn stayed at the hospital.

Mimi: No, um, Belle only wanted Philip with her.

Bonnie: So where is Shawn?

Mimi: He's in his bed, resting.

Bonnie: Good. Keep him there.

Mimi: What do you mean?

Bonnie: Listen to mama. Don't let Shawn anywhere near Belle.

Sami: Excuse me. Excuse me.

Carrie: Becky? Becky, it's Carrie. Yeah, sorry about the noise. You will not believe where I am. I'm at the Rolling Stones concert. I know! Lucas Roberts finagled some tickets last-minute from titan. I'm so psyched. Yeah, it's kind of been a crazy night here, too. I totally forgot about the catering contract. Great. Thanks. Uh, nothing too major. I just found out that my ex-husband is here in town with my sister. Yeah. That sister. I saw them at the restaurant. They didn't see me. Thank God. The last two people I want to see is Sami and Austin Reed.

Austin: [Thinking] Did I just hear my name?

Sami: Wha-- hey!

Hope: Oh, my gosh. Poor Jennifer and Abby. Losing Jack so suddenly like that. I know they knew he was dying, but at least he was still with them. They could hold him and hug him. They thought they'd have a chance to say goodbye and then all of that changed just like that.

Bo: Not that there's any good time of the year for something like this to happen, it's got to be especially hard right now.

Hope: Yeah, holidays all around you, everyone singing Christmas carols, spending time with their families. I can't even imagine what it must be like for Jennifer. She'll never be with Jack again. That has got to be the most awful, devastating feeling ever.

Bo: Believe me. It is. When I thought I lost you... the holidays were the worst, you know? Your birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas.

Bo: It's a time when you can tell people you like just how much you like them. And if you do that, it'll make you feel better.

Bo: What am I saying? Every day was hell. The only reason I got through it is I had to be there for Shawn. It'll be the same for Jen. She has to be there for her kids.

Hope: I just wish there was something more we could do for her.

Bo: Yeah.

Hope: I wish the rescue team could have at least found the body so she'd have some kind of closure.

Bo: Well, hopefully the memorial service tomorrow will help her with that.

Hope: There's just so much one person, one family should ever have to bear. Hey, sweetheart. Hey, Zach, come to mommy, honey. Ooh, my boy, oh, my goodness. I love you. I love you so much, Zach. Mommy's so lucky to have you.[Smooches] As hard as this year has been...

Bo: We've been very, very lucky.

Hope: So lucky. So, so lucky we have each other.

[Chain saw revs]

Shawn D.: [Thinking] Please, God, I remember when I asked you to save J.T. when he was sick...and then when he was in a car accident...and then again when Glen and Barb wanted to take him away. I didn't think you heard my prayers any of those times. It took me a really long time to see that you did have a plan. When Belle and I broke up, my life was over. And then when she was pregnant with Philip's baby, I was destroyed. But if something happens to their baby girl... if you have to take someone right now, just take me and let Belle and Philip's baby live. Please?

Mimi: Mom, get your priorities straight, okay? We can wait on my love life until we find out what's happening with Belle and Philip's baby. The only other thing I'm worried about is...

Bonnie: What? Does it have to do with Shawn?

Mimi: No, never mind. It's none of your business.

Bonnie: If it's worrying you, of course it's my business. Now, you're the one who brought it up, so you must want to talk about it, so tell me.

Mimi: No, I donít. Mom, please donít.

Bonnie: What are you trying to keep me from seeing? Out of my way, baby, now. [Scoffs] You're doing research on blood types? "Genetic relationship to..." what's going on here?

Mimi: Shawn donated his blood to Claire.

Bonnie: Claire who?

Mimi: The baby, mother!

Bonnie: [Sighs] Shawn did?

Mimi: Yes. That's why he's resting, because they took a lot of blood -- more than they should have -- and he's feeling kind of weak.

Bonnie: Why did they take Shawn's blood and not Belle or Philip's? Oh, my God.

Mimi: They did take Belle's, but they didn't even bother with Philip's because he's still on that pain medication from his surgery, but I overheard some of the nurses saying that Philip's wasn't a match and Shawn's was.

Bonnie: Turn that computer off right now. You turn it off now, or I'll smash it with my Christmas jug!

Carrie: Yes, if I ran into Austin, of course I would talk to him, but hopefully I won't have to worry about that.

Sami: God, what is with people tonight? Austin, hey, Austin.

Austin: Oh, it was you.

Sami: What?

Austin: No, I just kept hearing my name. I knew you were inside, so -- never mind. What's up?

Sami: Oh, um, nothing. I was just thinking that it's really mobbed up there so I'm not really thirsty, are you?

Austin: No, not really.

Sami: Then let's just go up and get our seats so we don't miss a second of the concert.

Austin: Okay, sounds like a plan...Stan.

Sami: Shut up!

Austin: [Laughs]

Sami: Come on.

Carrie: Yeah, yeah, we don't need to give him the final head count until tomorrow. Okay.

[Cheers and applause] Oh, my gosh, Becky. I think the show is starting.. I've got to go. Thank you so much. Bye.

Austin: Whoo!

Carrie: Oh, my God!

[Intro to Rolling Stones' "start me up" plays]

Jagger: Yeah

you start me up

you start me up, I'll never stop

you start me up

you start me up, I'll never stop

I'm running hot

you got me about to blow my top

you start me up

I'll never stop

never stop

you make a grown man cry

you make a grown man cry

you make a grown man cry

spread out the oil

the gasoline

I walk smooth

ride in a mean, mean machine

start it up

start it up

[Music playing]

Jagger: Start me up

[Cheers and applause] Thank you very much. We've got a new song for you. This one's called, "oh, no, not you again."

1, 2 -- 1, 2, 3, 4.

[Intro to Rolling Stones' "oh, no, not you again" plays]

Jagger: Here I stand before you

waiting to be kissed

you're a beauty, such a cutie

how could I resist?

It's been a month of sundays

since we last have spoke

so much water

you've got daughters

you put me out of the boat

oh, no, not you again

...up my life

it was bad the first time

I can't stand it twice

oh, no, not you again

I can't stand the pace

once bitten, twice shy

let me out of the race

the setting's so romantic

love is in the air

all is perfect

but I'm allergic

to your piercing stares

you look so cool and tempting

in your couture dress

you're addictive, as predicted

I'm nervous, I confess

oh, no, not you again

messing up my life

it was bad the first time

I can't stand it twice

oh, no, not you again

I hear the inner shout

[Breathing softly]

Shawn D.: [Smooches] Thank you, God, for answering my prayers. You're gonna be okay, baby girl. You're gonna have a long, happy life.

Mimi: What is the matter with you? Why are you freaking like this?

Bonnie: Same reason you are, and don't try to tell me you're not. I gave birth to you, and even when you were kicking like a Green Bay Packer inside my belly, I knew what every kick meant. You are scared to death that you are gonna lose Shawn if he finds out he's the real father of Belle's baby.

Mimi: Where would you even get an idea like that? Shawn told me months ago that he and Belle never slept together. He swore to it, and Belle said the same thing. Well, there was this one time last winter when I thought that maybe they -- but they didn't, which is why this whole blood-matching thing is so confusing.

Bonnie: All right, honey, listen to me. Listen, listen. When I was Mrs. Mickey Horton and volunteering at the hospital -- I did it a few times -- I seem to remember hearing something about people's blood type matching even though they weren't related.

Mimi: Well, duh, mom, there are only so many blood types. Of course you can match if you're a perfect stranger. But Philip and Shawn are -- let's see Philip is Shawn's half uncle. So what I'm wondering is why wouldn't Philip be a match?

Bonnie: [Laughs] Well, sweetheart, that's way too much biology, even for me. It's all about positives and negatives, R.H. factors. Look, a whole lot of stuff I don't know anything about. But listen to me. Philip not being a match for baby Claire is no biggie. It happens all the time.

Mimi: Are you sure?

Bonnie: Sure I'm sure. Remember when Chloe was sick? She needed a bone marrow transplant. Her father wasn't a match. Her mother wasn't a match, either.

Mimi: That's true. But that was bone marrow, not blood. I mean, it's different, right?

Bonnie: No, no, no, it's all the same idea. I promise you. Honey, I've had three kids and done it every which way from Sunday. Come here. Shh. Trust me on this, baby, okay? [Sighs] No more worrying your pretty head about Shawn's blood type matching Belle's baby.

Shawn D.: Why are you so worried about me being a match for Belle's baby?

Man: Don't know how her purse was thrown from the car.

Brown: Damn. It's Detective Brady's daughter.

Man: Call them.

Bo: You know, I wonder if we'll ever have a normal Christmas ever again. I mean, these last few years in Salem, it seems like we always have something to be sad about. I remember holidays being a happy time. That's what I remember growing up.

Hope: Me too, although I'm sure they weren't all as perfect as I recall. Maybe we should tone things down this year out of respect for Jennifer.

Bo: That would be a mistake. I mean, we all need a little bit of holiday spirit to cheer us up, and holiday traditions -- they kind of keep you together when you feel like everything's falling apart.

Hope: And like we talked with Chelsea, we'll incorporate some of her traditions into our own.

Bo: Okay, I think that's a good idea.

[Cellphone rings] Brady.

Brown: Detective Brady, it's Officer Brown. Your daughter, Chelsea, has been in an accident.

Bo: How is she?

Brown: She was alive when the ambulance took her. She was unconscious and bleeding from the head.

Bo: Okay, thanks for letting me know.

Hope: What is it? Is it Chelsea?

Bo: Yeah, she was in a bad accident. I got to get to the hospital.

Hope: I'm coming with you?

Bo: No, what about Zach?

Hope: We'll take Zach to Mickey and Maggie's.

Bo: Where's his coat?

Hope: Here, sweetie.

Bo: Billie's not answering her phone. I'll try her in the car on the way..

Hope: All right, come here.

Bo: You got him?

Hope: Let's go. (laughing) I had something else there.

Zack: Yeah,-traveled room?

Jagger: Oh, no, not you again

I hear the inner shout

it was bad the first time around

when you turned me inside out

everybody's talking

showing off their wit

the moon is yellow

but I'm not jell-o

staring down your lips

my life flashes forward

then it flashes back

I'm still dreaming

and I'm screaming

"get me off the rack!"

Oh, no, not you again

[Cheers and applause]

I was burned the first time

I can't stand it twice

oh, no, not you again

I can't stand the pace

once bitten, twice shy

let me out of the race

oh, no, not you again

mashing up my life

it was bad the first time around

Bonnie: Mimi told me what you did for Philip and Belle's baby. You gave way too much blood she said. How could they let you do that? You're just lucky you didn't pass out.

Mimi: He did.

Shawn D.: But it was worth it to help Claire.

Bonnie: Oh, sweetheart, that is just like you -- so generous, such a good friend. Look what a great friend you've been to my Mimi. But you can't risk your health. I know a certain young lady who'd be very upset if anything ever happened to you.

Mimi: Did you get any sleep?

Shawn D.: Ah, yes, a little. I feel a bit better. And there's something I wanted to tell you. I don't know about saying it in front of your mother.

Bonnie: Oh, go ahead.

Shawn D.: Um...well, okay, I just wanted to say if we end up staying together, I know it's just hypothetically, but I want to adopt a lot of babies... a lot.

Bonnie: Shawn Brady, that is the most romantic thing I've ever heard a man front of me.

Mimi: Yeah, well, you know, if we do stay together, then you've got a deal.

Bonnie: Mistletoe alert.

Mimi: The whole apartment is a mistletoe zone. She goes overboard. You're just gonna have to get used to it.

Shawn D.: It's not a problem, especially if you're with someone you really care about.

Bonnie: [Thinking] Look, you, a little bit of information is a very dangerous thing. So blood types and who slept with who don't matter. You just keep your technological mouth shut.

Jagger: Oh, no, not you again

mashing up my life

it was bad the first time around

I better take my own advice

for sure

oh, no

oh, no

oh, no

[Cheers and applause]

Austin: Hey, man, look, I'm sorry to interrupt you. I know you're busy, but can you tell me what section you were showing on the jumbo screen during the last song?

Austin: Dude, I would not ask if it wasn't really important.

Uh, I think it was e3.

Austin: E3. Where is that? Where is that? Thanks.

Jagger: Thank you.

Austin: I don't believe this.

[Monitor beeping steadily]

Nurse: It's so tragic.

Nurse 1: Losing your daughter... I just can't imagine it.

Brown: At least she went quick. She never regained consciousness after the impact. She probably didn't feel any pain.

Bo: No, no.

Jennifer: I'm afraid I am making a terrible mistake letting you go.

Austin: Will you calm down?

Sami: No, not until I find out the name of that slut that Lucas was with..

Austin: What are you gonna do when you find out? What are you gonna do?

[Cheers and applause]

Hope: [Gasps]
