Philip: You're gonna be all right, little girl, 'cause you have to be. Even though you haven't been with your mommy and me for very long, we don't know what we'd do without you, honey. And I know that it's probably a little scary for you to be in the hospital, but it's okay. It's okay. Daddy's right here, and mommy's gonna be here soon. She just needed a little rest because she's been worrying about you so much. Oh, honey, do you have any idea how lucky you are to have her as your mommy? She is the most loving woman in the world, and you're gonna grow up to be just like her. I know it. You want to hear something kind of funny? I wasn't much older than you when I first met your mommy. It's true. Somebody put us in a playpen together, and look where we are now. And we both loved you from the moment we saw you.
Kate: Well, are you really prepared to do this?
Victor: I know. He's gonna take the news very hard.
Kate: God. It's going to break his heart, all right? That's the exact reason that we can't do it. That little girl is in there fighting for -- fighting for her life, Victor. The last thing that he needs to hear right now is that she's not his daughter, that she's the daughter of his best friend.
Jennifer: Help! Frankie!
Hope: Jen, what is it?
Jennifer: You're not gonna believe this. I can hardly believe it myself.
Jennifer: Jack -- he's alive.
Hope: Jennifer, calm down. Try to catch your breath, honey. What just happened?
Jennifer: I was in the garden. I was wrapping the rose bushes, and I saw him.
Jennifer: Yes. He talked to me. Oh, my gosh. You don't believe me, do you?
[Jazz music plays]
Austin: It is great that you're providing financing, Mr. Giles.
Mr. Giles: Well, that's what investment bankers do. We look for diamonds in the rough. Your company's perfect.
Austin: I appreciate your confidence, and I will not disappoint. With the funding that you're providing, we'll be able to take over Highstyle in a matter of days.
Mr. Giles: Excellent. Highstyle and your company -- perfect fit. I prepared your contract. As soon as you sign it, I'll shoot it over to my lawyer. You'll have your money in the morning.
Austin: Great 'cause I want to move fast. I know I'm not the only one interested in acquiring it.
Mr. Giles: I'm sure you're not. It's a prime takeover target -- undervalued, underperforming, but with unlimited potential.
Austin: Yep. That's why I plan on making an extremely attractive offer -- all cash. I am sure they will accept.
Mr. Giles: Well, I hope so. What do you plan on doing after that?
Austin: Well, after we agree on the terms, I'll sit down with the C.E.O. and work out our respective roles.
Mr. Giles: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What's this about respective roles?
Austin: Well, naturally, with the current management and my team, we'll sit down, and we'll try to figure out how to divide the responsibilities of the company.
Maybe I've been a little too hasty.
Austin: Too hasty?
Mr. Giles: I'm not bankrolling this undertaking so you can have a love-in with Highstyle's failed management. We've both seen the financials -- too much fat, not enough muscle. Someone's not minding the store. You've got to be ruthless, Mr. Reed -- clean house, get rid of the deadwood starting with the C.E.O. And the question is -- do you have the guts to do that?
Lucas: Man, Carrie, that is one long phone call. What the hell's taking you so long?
Lucas: Nicole. You -- what -- what the hell are you doing here?
Nicole: Well, I could ask you the same question. Huh. Guess you're on a date, huh?
Lucas: What makes you say that, Sherlock?
Nicole: Ooh, sparkling water for two... unless of course it's your imaginary friend.
Lucas: That's pretty cute.
Nicole: But no...there's lipstick on the glass. Oh, come on, Lucas. Who's the lucky lady?
Sami: Unbelievable bitch. I cannot believe that she did this. I mean, there's red wine all over my dress. I don't believe this happened.
Woman: Can I help?
Sami: I mean, it's red wine. Is there anything you can do?
Woman: Well, I can try, but that's quite a stain.
Carrie: [Thinking] Oh, my God. What is Sami doing here?
Sami: How am I supposed to fix this?
Woman: Oh, I see spills like this all the time.
Sami: It's not a spill. Someone threw this on me deliberately.
Woman: Uh-oh. That sounds like a bad date. You know, a guy who would do something like that -- he's just a loser.
Sami: It's not the guy that I'm with, and he's not a loser, and it's not a real date.
Woman: Oh, I'm sorry. I just assumed that --
Sami: No. I wish it was a real date. He is the real deal, and I'm in love with him.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives.
Austin: Mr. Giles, I completely understand where you're coming from. Just hear me out. Highstyle -- it's a small outfit. I've done some research on their employees. They're close-knit. They're like a family. They look out for each other. That's the kind of atmosphere that most businesses strive for. Here it already exists. It needs to be strengthened, not destroyed.
Mr. Giles: You are wet behind the ears, aren't you?
Austin: Oh, come on. I've been in business long enough to know that when you have employees that believe in what they're doing and an employer that treats them fairly, they perform better, they're more productive.
Mr. Giles: Yeah, but they're not performing well. Highstyle's revenues are a fraction of what they could be. Its profit margins are terrible.
Austin: But with updated technology, revamped marketing strategies, you know, with --
Mr. Giles: No, you're a softy, Reed. Blood on the floor. That's what Highstyle needs.
Austin: That's not the way I do business. I intend to work with Highstyle's team to make this a smooth transition. Come on, man. You've done your homework. You know how I turned Permalash into a cash cow, and I did not do that by instilling fear and loathing. I worked with the team management that was already in place. And I intend to do that with Highstyle.
Mr. Giles: That may have worked with Permalash, but Highstyle needs a thorough top-to-bottom overhaul, and if you're too much of a candy ass to inflict the necessary pain, I'm not interested in investing.
Austin: Mr. Giles, you're missing out. My associates and I -- we found Highstyle, and we're gonna do with it what we see fit. Whether you give us the money or not, we'll just take it to another bank, and they will be more than happy to get in on this deal.
Lucas: Did I ask you to sit down?
Nicole: Don't worry, Lucas. I won't stay long. Looks like you hitched up with a fellow teetotaler.
Lucas: You gonna answer my question? What are you doing here?
Nicole: It's business.
Lucas: Really? What kind of business?
Nicole: You don't expect me to tell you that.
Lucas: No, I guess I don't, but it must be pretty important if you're in California. What -- are the other two musketeers with you, too? Is that it?
Nicole: You mean Austin and Sami?
Nicole: Wonder away. Bye, Lucas.
Sami: So, you think this stain will really come out, huh?
Woman: Well, I think so. I just have to be careful with this material. So, tell me -- does this man you're with know you're in love with him?
Woman: Don't you think you should tell him?
Sami: It's complicated.
Woman: Well, if you don't speak up, you may regret it. I mean, when you lose someone important to you, it's just a shame.
Sami: I may have lost him already.
Woman: What makes you say that?
Sami: He's not really interested in me. He's totally preoccupied with his business.
Woman: Not totally.
Sami: You don't even know him.
Woman: Well, he brought you here for dinner tonight, didn't he?
Sami: Well, people have to eat.
Woman: Oh. There. I think that's the best I can do.
Sami: Um, well, it's much better. A little bit wet, but...
Woman: As soon as it dries, you go back out there and wow your man.
Sami: Thank you. Thank you very much for your help.
Sami: You know, I don't really think that I have a chance with him. We have a really long history, and... and somehow it just never works out.
Woman: Well, things change. You never know.
Sami: Yeah, but I was with his brother for a long time, and then just recently, that didn't work out either.
Carrie: [Thinking] She's here with Austin?
Woman: Whoa. You were fooling around with this man's brother? [Chuckles] Working here every night, I hear a lot of stories, but, girl, your life is juicy.
Sami: No. No, it's not like that. I really loved his brother.
Woman: Oh, well, wait a second. Then, if that's true, then why didn't you try to get him back?
Sami: I did, but it didn't work.
Woman: Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm getting the feeling that you don't know which brother you're in love with. How'd you get yourself into this bind?
Sami: It's a really long story. And the bottom line is, I have completely, completely messed up my entire life, and I have no idea how it happened.
Woman: Oh. Honey...
[Heart monitor beeping]
Victor: You're already on thin ice with me. Don't make matters even worse.
Kate: Oh, my God. You're the one who's making things worse -- for Philip..
Victor: You know, I can still report you to Roman, and don't think that I wonít. What you did could have killed Shawn. Are you so cold hearted that doesn't even bother you?
Kate: I am not cold hearted. I was doing what needed to be done, okay? And then I undid it. I changed all the records back. There's no way that Shawn can be hurt.
Victor: You only did that because you got caught.
Kate: Victor, there was no damage done, all right? Can we just focus on our son?
Victor: No, we canít. Philip may be our son, but Shawn is also my grandson. This is going to affect both of them. In fact, they could turn into lifelong enemies. It pains me to even think about that.
Kate: I am worried about our son, okay?
Victor: You've made that all too clear.
Kate: And it's not just because he's our son. He's married to Belle, you know. They love each other very much.
Victor: And Shawn loves Belle. In fact, she loved him before she loved Philip. They were together for a long time.
Kate: What are you saying?
Victor: I am saying, how long do you think Philip and Belle's love is going to last once they find out that little girl in there is Shawn's?
Kate: Okay. Okay. That is exactly my point. Why do we need to say anything, Victor?
Kate: But right now, Shawn's seeing Mimi, and they're getting very close.. I think they're falling in love. Why don't we just let things be? Philip is crazy about that little girl. He's a loving father. He's gonna give her a wonderful, wonderful life.
Victor: Oh, stop it. You know, for someone who professes to love her children so very much, you certainly do them a terrible disservice. It is just the wrong thing not to tell Philip. As retching as it'll be for him, he needs to know the truth.
Philip: The truth about what, dad?
Hope: Jen, we want to believe you.
Jennifer: Okay, then believe me. Believe me. I saw him. I am not hallucinating. I'm not.
Hope: Honey, it's just from everything we know, Jack's gone.
Jennifer: No, I know. That's what everybody thinks, and I was starting to believe that. I mean, how could he survive that accident? How could he have gone off that bridge into icy water, but remember, they never found his body. I'm telling you, the man standing in my garden right now is my Jack.
Frankie: You know what? I'll check it out, all right?
Hope: Jennifer, if Jack was out there, why didn't he come in?
Jennifer: I don't know.
Hope: Jen, wait.
Jennifer: No, no, please. I have to see him.
Hope: Frankie went to see what's going on. Honey, you need to calm down, and we need to talk.
Frankie: Jack? Hey, Jack, are you out here? [Footsteps depart] Jack, is that you? Come on, talk to me, Jack. Jack, hey, come here. Jack!
Austin: If you think I'm bluffing, you're wrong.
Mr. Giles: This is business, Mr. Reed, not a church social. Smiling and glad-handing doesn't cut it.
Austin: You know, I think it's possible to succeed in business without trampling on people, and if you've got a problem with that, then I'll have to find financial backing elsewhere.
Nicole: Mr. Giles -- Mr. Giles, please, don't do that. Would you just excuse us for a second, please? Austin, can I just speak to you over here? Thank you. What the hell do you think you're doing? You're gonna ruin everything we worked so hard for.
Waiter: Can I get you anything else?
Lucas: No, thank you. I'm fine.
Waiter: Are you sure your date's coming back?
Lucas: I'm beginning to wonder the same thing myself.
Carrie: [Thinking] How am I gonna get out of here without Sami seeing me?
Woman: Oh, here you go, hon.
Sami: Thank you. I'm sorry. I don't normally weep like this in front of strangers.
Woman: Sometimes that's the best person to tell your troubles to -- a sympathetic soul who wants to help. I mean, whenever you're feeling low, you need to let it all out. I mean, if you hold all of those feelings inside, sooner or later, you're gonna blow like a pressure cooker, you know?
Sami: I just don't understand what is wrong with me. It seems like every relationship I have ever been in ends in -- ends in some sort of horrible disaster.
Lucas: I want to forgive you. I want to forgive you so bad it hurts, but I canít.
Sami: Lucas, please. Please, Lucas, you love me. We're gonna get married..
Lucas: Looking at you now, Sami, I can't believe I ever loved you. I can't believe I ever wanted you! I can't believe I ever touched you! From now on, you're dead to me, all right? You don't exist. Whatever I had for you is gone! All I feel for you is hate and disgust.
Sami: Get away!
Woman: Bad karma, huh?
Sami: I'm, like, the poster girl for bad karma. I mean, the guy I'm with tonight -- he's not really available, not to me.
Woman: Well, what about his brother, the guy you mentioned earlier?
Sami: No. No, I am not getting back together with him. You are really easy to talk to. Thank you, you know? I'm telling you things that I barely admit to myself.
Sami: Oh, oh, gosh, I'm sorry. Um...
Woman: Thank you.
Sami: Yeah, yeah, of course. I wish it could be more. I'm a little bit strapped for cash myself right now. I very rarely have someone to talk to. Normally I'm just talking to myself.
Woman: What about friends, family?
Sami: I had a best friend, but he doesn't talk to me anymore. I have my mom, and she's great. I mean, she's a really good listener, but, how do I say this? She has her own problems.
Woman: Oh, I'm sure she'd still want to help you.
Sami: She doesn't even know me. I shouldn't say it like that. My mom has amnesia, and well, she doesn't remember me.
Woman: Oh, I'm sorry. What about brothers and sisters?
Sami: I have a twin brother, and he's actually really wonderful, but his job takes him all over the world, and so he's hard to reach sometimes. And I have two half sisters, but I'm not really close to either one of them.
Woman: That's too bad.
Sami: Not really. I mean, my younger half sister -- she's okay, except for that she and everyone else think that she's perfect. Um, but she's going through a really difficult time right now, too. Her baby is really sick, and I feel awful for her.
Woman: Yeah, I'm sorry.
Sami: And then my other half sister -- she's older than me. She's perfect, too.
[Chuckles] That must be hard having two of them.
Sami: To say the least. Actually, you know, it's funny, I haven't thought about my sister in a long time, but it seems like her name is coming up a lot lately, and I actually spoke to her on the phone today.
Woman: Well, that's a start. At least she didn't hang up on you.
Sami: I guess that's true. It's just that the reason that my sister and I don't get along is because of the man that I'm with tonight.
Sami: I didn't take Austin away from you. You threw him away so that you could be with mike. I didn't do this, and I am not gonna take the blame.
Carrie: No, you'll just take my husband.
Sami: Your ex-husband.
Carrie: My soon-to-be-miserable ex-husband once he realizes what a colossal mistake he's making.
Sami: Look, Carrie, I don't really care what you think, but Austin and I are gonna have a wonderful life together, and I was really hoping that you could be a part of that life, but if you decide not to be, once again, the only person you will be hurting is yourself.
Woman: Don't tell me she was involved with him, too.
Sami: She was married to him, and I did everything I could to keep them apart.
Woman: Let's see. You're involved with two brothers, and one of the brothers was involved with you and one of your sisters?
Sami: I told you it was complicated.
Woman: I'll say. But breaking up your sister's relationship doesn't seem to make you very happy.
Sami: Yeah, I guess you're right.
Woman: I bet you wish you'd left things alone.
Sami: When I was talking to my sister on the phone, um, I realized all these horrible things have happened between us that there is no way it could ever be fixed, and... I wish it could be different, but it canít. Sometimes I really miss her. You know, I have been the worst sister in the world to her. I did everything I could to mess with her life, and you know what? She ended up happy.
Woman: With another man?
Sami: Yeah. Yeah, I mean, she found this great guy, and she's living happily ever after in another country.
Woman: So things worked out.
Sami: For her, yeah.
Woman: So maybe it's time you started concentrating on your life. I mean, if you really like this guy you're with tonight, and you think there's any chance at all that you'd be happy together, let him know. I mean, he might be more interested than you think.
Sami: I didn't know that there was someone else here.
Woman: Oh, neither did I. Miss, are you okay?
Carrie: I'm fine. Um, I just need a minute.
Sami: Oh, my God. I recognize that --
Philip: Dad, I just heard you. You said I needed to know the truth -- about what?
Victor: Your mother has something she needs to tell you, Philip, about the baby.
Philip: About the baby? Did Lexie tell you something she's not telling me?
Kate: Philip, honey, it's nothing like that, really. We can just talk about it later.
Philip: Don't do that. If it's about Claire, I want to know what it is. Tell me what it is, mom.
Kate: Your father is, um, angry at me because, um, I -- I gave the nurses some cash under the table.
Kate: Yeah, because I just want to make sure that Claire gets extra special attention, Philip.
Philip: All right, well, I think the nurses are doing fine, mom.
Kate: I know that, but I want to make sure that it continues.
Philip: I understand that, and I appreciate it, but I think I have to agree with dad here, mom, you know?
Kate: Okay, that's fine. I mean, obviously, I'm outnumbered.
Victor: Your mother has something more she needs to tell you.
Philip: Hold on. Hold on. Nurse. What is it? What's going on?
Nurse: Her blood pressure's high. I'll page Dr. Carver.
Philip: It's okay, honey. It's okay. Just breathe, baby. It's all right. Daddy's here. Daddy's here, honey. It's okay.
Hope: Honey, come here. Sit down for a second, okay?
Jennifer: No, listen, I know. I know what you're gonna say.
Hope: You do?
Jennifer: Yes, I do. You're gonna say this is all my imagination -- that I have conjured this whole thing up to help me deal with my loss.
Hope: Isn't it possible that's what it was?
Jennifer: No! Look, when you see him, you'll know I was right, okay?
Frankie: Jack? Oh... a cat. Well, that must be what I saw.
Jennifer: Did you find him?
Frankie: No, I'm sorry. I mean, I looked all around.
Jennifer: Where did he go?
Frankie: I don't know. I'll tell you what -- I'll check around front again, okay?
Frankie: All right.
Jennifer: I don't understand. I mean... he was here. I saw him. He was here. You think I'm crazy.
Hope: No, of course not.
Jennifer: Maybe... maybe I am. Is that possible? I mean, am I losing my -- am I losing my mind? Am I going crazy? Hope, listen to me. I have gone through this so many times. Remember when I thought I lost Jack to the Salem Stalker and then when I lost him on the island? I am telling you -- both times, my instinct was telling me that he was alive, and he was.
Hope: Of course I remember. You and Abby both felt he was alive. You refused to give up.
Jennifer: Right. That's why I'm not giving up now.
Hope: Jen, wait.
Hope: What did Jack say to you? Did he explain what happened? How did he get out of the car? Where has he been? Do you think maybe this time Jack came back to say goodbye?
Woman: You recognize her voice?
Sami: No, no, I recognize the shoes. Um, these are fabulous shoes. They're, like, Manolos or Jimmy Choos -- they're even more expensive. Um, here's your shoe back. They're gorgeous.
Carrie: Thank you.
Woman: I wonder if she's all right.
Sami: You know what? Thank you again for the -- helping me with the dress. Um, I appreciate it.
Woman: You're welcome, and you try to keep those brothers straight now, you hear?
Sami: Yeah. Yeah, I will. Okay.
Woman: Honey, are you okay? If you're sick, I can call a doctor.
Carrie: [Sighs] I'm fine now that my sister's gone.
Nicole: I don't know what's gotten into you, Austin, but you better pull yourself together.
Austin: I am gonna handle this deal my way, you understand? I am not gonna let this guy call the shots.
Nicole: This guy is prepared to give us a lot of money. It's only natural he'd want to have some input.
Austin: Input is one thing. He wants to run the show, Nicole. Listen, you don't know me, okay? I can be hard-nosed when the time is right, but I am not about to fire people for the fun of it and certainly not before the holidays.
Nicole: That's what he wants you to do?
Austin: Oh, yeah -- deep-six the C.E.O., CFO, C.O., You name it. The people that built this company -- they put their heart and souls in it. Yeah, there's a lot of things that could be done better, but there is a lot that's right about this company, and I want to preserve it.
Nicole: I had no idea you felt so passionate about this.
Austin: Well, now you know. Look, I admire your shrewdness, your tough-mindedness. You know, that's an asset in business, but it is not always necessary to kick ass, especially when a little finesse can work just as well.
Nicole: Point taken, but you better resolve your differences with Mr. Giles because the vultures are circling.
Nicole: Yeah. Your brother's here.
Austin: What? Lucas is in L.A.?
Nicole: And not only is he in L.A., but he is in this restaurant. And he wouldn't tell me why he was here, but -- ooh, wild guess -- I bet you he is here for the same reason we are -- to acquire Highstyle for Titan. Look, I understand that you and Mr. Giles have different ideas on how to put Highstyle back on track, but we are running out of time.
Austin: I'm afraid you're right.
Nicole: Giles is our go-to guy if we want to pull off this takeover. It is too late to switch horses unless you want to see this whole deal fall apart.
Austin: No, no, I donít. No. Um, but, you know, I think my relationship with Mr. Giles is a little strained at the moment.
Nicole: Okay, then let me talk to him.
Austin: Yeah, you know, I think that's a good idea. That's good. Okay. Good luck. Now I'm gonna go find out what the hell my brother is doing in L.A.
Nicole: Oh. Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Giles. Thank you. So, do we have a deal or not?
Mr. Giles: Depends.
Mr. Giles: Austin Reed. I'm not willing to lend the kind of money we're talking about to a guy who wants to win a popularity contest.
Nicole: That's not what Austin's doing.
Mr. Giles: Sounds that way to me.
Nicole: His track record speaks for itself. Look, he's a bottom-line guy, just like you are, but he and I have different roles. He takes the high road --
Mr. Giles: And you?
Nicole: Well, what do you think? Someone needs to be the bitch.
Sami: Ooh, Austin. Hey, hey, Austin. Oh, um, sorry. So, how did the deal go? Sorry I couldn't help you, but...
Austin: Well, you know, I wouldn't worry about it because I don't think there's gonna be a deal.
Sami: You're kidding.
Austin: I wish.
Sami: Well, what happened? Everything was going great until Nicole threw her drink on me.
Austin: Well, it seems that Mr. Giles and I have philosophical differences.
Lucas: What happened --
Carrie: I'll tell you later. Sami and Austin are here.
Lucas: In the restaurant?
Carrie: We got to get out of here now.
Lucas: Oh, boy. Wait a minute. I think it's too late. I think we've just been spotted.
Nurse: Okay. Dr. Carver's on her way.
Philip: Okay. Why is her blood pressure so high?
Nurse: Her kidneys haven't been working so well. That could be due to her illness, even some of the treatments we're using to help her.
Nurse: Some of the medications Claire needs can be damaging to her kidneys.
Nurse: That's a little better.
Philip: Good. Thank you.
Nurse: I need to go check on her labs. I'll be back soon, okay?
Victor: I know you're frightened, son. We all are, but your mother and I are in your corner. You know that.
Philip: When's she going to get better, dad?
Victor: I wish I knew, son.
Philip: I can't just sit here and watch her die. I canít.
Kate: If you make me tell him the truth, it's going to kill him.
Jennifer: Hope, I don't remember exactly what Jack said.
Hope: You don't?
Jennifer: No. I was -- I was so excited. I mean, I was shocked, and I...
Hope: Jen, what did he say?
Jennifer: Oh, I said -- I said, "Jack, you're alive." And he said, "no." He said... he said, "no, I'm dead," but...
Hope: He said that -- that he was dead?
Jennifer: Yes, he said that. And he also said something about wanting Frankie to take his place.
Frankie: All right, what am I doing? This is crazy. There's nobody out here. What the hell?
Philip: Where's Lexie? You said she was on her way, right?
Nurse: She had an emergency with one of her other patients, but she'll be here soon. Claire's latest labs show that her kidney function isn't as good as it should be, but she doesn't require any additional treatment right now. She's hanging in there. This little girl of yours is pretty strong.
Philip: Yeah, she is.
Nurse: I guess I shouldn't be surprised -- her dad being a marine and all. Can I have somebody get any of you coffee or tea?
Philip: Not for me.
Victor: We're fine, thank you.
Nurse: I know all this waiting is hard. Just know that we're doing everything we can for your daughter.
Philip: Hey, sweetheart, I'm gonna go get mommy now, okay? I love you very much. Your grandma and your grandpa are here to keep an eye on you.
Victor: We sure will. You go ahead and find Belle.
Philip: I want you both to know it means a lot to me to have both my parents here together. I hope you know that.
Victor: Well, where else would we be? Now go, and once you find Belle, do what the nurse said. Get yourself something to eat.
Philip: I'm really not hungry, though, dad.
Victor: Philip, if you don't take care of yourself, you're gonna get sick.
Kate: You need to listen to your dad, okay? You need to keep your strength up.
Philip: Okay, I'll try.
Victor: This can't go on, Kate. Our son has to be told the truth.
Kate: Why? What earthly good is it gonna do? Look what he's going through. Why does he have to go through any more stress than this?
Victor: Because it's the right thing to do.
Kate: The right thing to do...to hurt him? Victor, he's feeling more pain than he's ever felt in his entire life. Why does he have to feel more?
Victor: I don't want to hurt him any more than you do.
Kate: Then stop. Stop insisting that I tell him the truth. Your whole life you have bent the rules for your own needs. I know that you would do anything to protect your children... so please... please, let this go.
Victor: God help me for agreeing to this, but all right, Kate. For now, we won't tell Philip the child is not his.
Nicole: To Mr. Giles and to a long association.
Mr. Giles: A long and profitable association.
Nicole: You won't be sorry you invested with us.
Mr. Giles: I'm gonna hold you to that. You'll talk sense to Mr. Nice guy, make sure he --
Nicole: Yeah, yeah. Don't worry about Austin. With stakes this high, he'll come through.
Mr. Giles: I think you and I understand each other.
Nicole: We do. And once we're through with Highstyle, the C.E.O. and the rest of the company won't know what hit them. Cheers.
Mr. Giles: Cheers.
Carrie: Do you really think they saw me?
Lucas: Yeah, they can see you, but they can only see your back. I don't think they know it's you.
Carrie: What are we gonna do? How am I getting out of here?
Lucas: Just relax for a second, okay? The only way I can see out of here is through the dance floor.
Lucas: Don't worry about it. It's crowded enough. We might get lucky. We'll get away with it.
Carrie: Let's go.
Austin: Excuse me. Excuse me. Ugh! Where'd they go?
Sami: Well, I have no idea. I can't see Lucas at all.
Austin: Well, he was with a woman.
Sami: Oh, great. The last thing I need is Lucas and some hot date in L.A..
Austin: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to mention that. Want to dance?
Sami: Yeah. I'd like that.
Sami: Oh, my God.
Sami: She's here?
Frankie: All right. I don't believe in ghosts, but how do you explain this?
Hope: Jack said that he wanted Frankie to take his place?
Jennifer: Yes. That is so crazy.
Hope: Maybe not as crazy as you might think. Jen, you know me. I tend to be skeptical about things, but --
Jennifer: What? What? What are you thinking?
Hope: Maybe it was Jack's ghost.
Jennifer: No! Look at me. He is not dead. I'm telling you --
Hope: Jen, don't you think I want to believe that? I love Jack, too. But everything we know tells us he didn't make it this time. Honey, you even said this vision that you had... told you that Jack was dead.
Hope: Maybe Jack was trying hard to hang on so he could see you one more time, Jen... to let you know that it was okay... that he was okay, so you'd have closure.
Jennifer: No, Hope, I love him with all my heart. He can't be gone. He can't be gone.
Hope: I know. I'm sorry.
Jennifer: Hope, please.
Hope: I'm sorry, Jen. Jen, this is so hard to accept. Maybe God sent Jack back just for a brief moment so you could see that he was at peace... and so Jack could tell you that he was okay, and that it was okay for you to move on with your life.
Jennifer: No, please, Hope, listen to me. No. I'm telling you.
Hope: Jack and Frankie became good friends the past few months. You know that. You saw it. We all saw it. I'm sure Jack knew that Frankie was someone that he could count on. Jack's love for you was so strong, Jen. He needed to know that you and the children would be looked after.
Jennifer: Listen to me. Frankie is a wonderful man. He's a wonderful man.. He is a great friend. He has been there for us through all of this, but it is not the same! I don't want Frankie. I want Jack.
Marlena: Should I not be concerned with my family?
Alex: No, you shouldnít.
Sami: Austin, that is the biggest sprig of mistletoe I have ever seen.
Lucas: I'm moving on with my life, and it does not include Sami.
Carrie: You almost make it sound like you found someone else.
Lucas: Well, I have. At least, I -- I hope I have.
