[Knock on door]

Lucas: Oh. [Exhales sharply] Uhh. Oh, man. This is the worst --

Eugenia: Good morning, Lucas.

Lucas: Eugenia, you brought coffee. Thank you so much. The stuff I made is terrible. Thanks for coming so early.

Eugenia: Yeah, it is early. I haven't even had time to have breakfast yet.

Lucas: Oh, well. What do you got in the bag?

Eugenia: A blueberry scone and a disgusting glazed doughnut. Which one do you want?

Lucas: It's a no-brainer. Give me the doughnut.

Eugenia: I thought so.

Lucas: Yeah.

Eugenia: Here you go.

Lucas: Ooh. Disgusting. You got the newspaper and the schedule for today?

Eugenia: Yep. Everything from International to the Salem Tribune that was at your front door.

Lucas: Good deal. Check the financial pages. Start with Salem, then go to New York. See if there's anything exciting going on. Eugenia, what is it?

Carrie: Uh, Becky, would you do me a favor? Would you get the quarterly report? I think it's in my top desk drawer.

Becky: Oh, sure.

[Drawer opens] Whoa.

Carrie: What?

Becky: Who's the hunk, and how come you never mentioned him before?

[Liquid pouring]

Austin: Hey, did you get will to school on time?

Sami: Barely.

Austin: You okay?

Sami: Jack Deveraux died.

Austin: Yeah, I heard.

Sami: He was my friend, you know?

Austin: No. Actually, I didn't know that.

Sami: Yeah, well, he -- he was. I mean, I knew he was sick, but -- [Inhales sharply] I can't believe -- poor Abby. She's Will's age. She -- Austin, I never got to say goodbye to him. I --

Austin: I'm real sorry about that.

Sami: Thank you.

Austin: I'm gonna give you some time alone, okay?

Sami: [Sniffles]

[Exhales sharply]

[Exhales sharply]

[Inhales, exhales deeply]

Austin: "Today is the anniversary of me and Carrie being engaged"? I can't believe that he -- "life certainly has turned out different than the way I expected, and maybe I should check in with Carrie and Mike and see how they're doing"?

Sami: I can't believe he's still in love with her.

Austin: Do you want to tell me what you're doing?

Mimi: Good morning.

Shawn D.: [Gasps]

Mimi: [Chuckles] I brought you some coffee.

Shawn D.: [Groans]

Mimi: Did you sleep here all night?

Shawn D.: What the hell does it look like?

Mimi: [Laughs]

Shawn D.: [Groans] Oh, my gosh. I gave blood, and they told me to rest for a little while. I just passed out here. When did you leave?

Mimi: Right after visiting hours were over. I tried to wake you up, but you were totally out.

Shawn D.: Yeah, I was -- I was in another world. How's the baby?

Mimi: I don't know. It's still early, and I didn't want to bother them yet. I'll be right back.

Shawn D.: Hold on a second.

[Groans] Oh, gosh. Where you going?

Mimi: I'm gonna go to the chapel and say a prayer.

Shawn D.: Would you mind if I went with you?

Mimi: No. It'll be fine. Let's go.

[Monitor beeping]

Belle: Oh, my God. What? Philip! Wake up.

Kate: No. Victor, it was a crisis situation. She's stabilized now. Lexie thought it was best to do the transfusion. No, they couldn't use Philip's blood because he's still on pain medication. Yes, they went ahead, and they used Belle's blood. What we're gonna do -- we -- we're just going to be monitoring the situation. Look, Victor, I should really go now. I should check and see what's happening. Yes, yes. I will keep you informed. Okay. I will. Bye.

[Exhales deeply] Nurse! What's going on in there? What's happening?

Nurse Jennifer: We'll talk to you as soon as we can.

Belle: It looks like she's turning blue.

Lexie: Claire's oxygen stats aren't where we'd like them to be.

Philip: What's that mean?

Lexie: Her body isn't receiving enough oxygen.

Belle: She's already on oxygen! What do we do?!

Lexie: We're giving her a medication. That may help. If not, we'll have to put her on a ventilator.

Belle: She's gonna have to have a machine breathe for her?!

Lexie: We don't know yet.

Philip: You don't know yet? Is that really the best you can tell us? You said you have called a half-dozen specialists. We still don't know what's even wrong with her. There must be something else we can do.

Lexie: I am so sorry. I wish there were.

Belle: What if the ventilator doesn't work soon?

Lexie: Let's just take this one step at a time, all right?

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives.

Mimi: Thanks for coming with me. On the way over to the hospital this morning, I just felt so useless, like there's nothing I can do to help Claire.

Shawn D.: Yeah, I know what you mean.

Mimi: Well, at least you were able to give blood.

Shawn D.: Yeah. Yeah. I hope it helps, but right now I think Claire needs all the prayers she can get.

Lexie: We're sending some blood to test to check her organ function.

Philip: Because you think she's not getting enough oxygen?

Belle: You think her organs are failing?

Lexie: We just want to do as much as possible to best help Claire.

Belle: How long until we get the results?

Lexie: Well, it should take about an hour. Listen, why don't you use this time to get something to eat? You need to take care of yourselves.

Belle: I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying right here. [Sniffles] Why don't you go get us some coffee?

Philip: Okay. All right. I'll be back.

Philip: Hi, mom.

Kate: Hi, sweetie. Why was the nurse in such a hurry? What's wrong?

Philip: [Exhales deeply] Lexie said that Claire is not getting enough oxygen to her organ tissues. And she also said that if they can't figure out what's wrong -- [Sniffles, cries]

Kate: Oh, baby.

Philip: [Sniffles] I feel so helpless. And all they're telling me to do is just hope that everything goes all right.

Kate: Oh! Listen to me. Listen to me. You just have to trust Lexie. You have to trust the hospital staff because they know what they're doing. They know.

Philip: What if that's not enough?

Kate: Baby, it will be because you and Belle and the baby are a family now. Look at everything that you overcame to get there. Nothing -- nothing -- is going to destroy that.

Lucas: Julie, what can I do? Yeah, I-I know Jack had an incurable disease and now he's not gonna suffer a long, painful death, but, my God, who knows how much he was suffering when that car got trapped underwater like that? Just, uh, just give Jen my condolences, okay? Tell her I'll stop by later. [Inhales, exhales raggedly] How's Abby holding up? Yeah, I'll bet. All right. Thanks, Julie. I appreciate it. I can't believe that.

Eugenia: I'm so sorry, Lucas. I didn't know Jack Deveraux very well, but he seemed like a really great guy.

Lucas: Yeah, he was a great guy. I don't know what my sister's gonna do. I don't know what her kids are gonna do now.

Eugenia: You know what? Maybe we should take the day off so that you can go and see them.

Lucas: It's probably a good idea, but we got some things we got to iron out first.

Eugenia: Okay. Um, so, how was your visit to Highstyle?

Lucas: Uh, it was, um, it was a little disappointing.

Eugenia: It was? How come?

Lucas: I don't that company's gonna be a smart investment for us -- no, not at all.

Eugenia: I don't get it because all the research -- it pointed to it being a slam dunk.

Lucas: Yeah, that's what I thought, too.

Eugenia: Okay, then, so who or what changed your mind?

Carrie: I've been meaning to put that in storage.

Becky: Storage? Why? It's just a picture. Oh. If you had it that close to you, there must be a reason. I once slept with a picture of Carson Daly under my pillow, but I guess it didn't have quite the same meaning.

Carrie: Whatever works for you.

Becky: So, give me a little backstory on this guy.

Carrie: Well, the short version. We fell in love, got married, then got divorced -- it was my fault. He moved to New York to pursue a career, and I moved on with someone else.

Becky: Right. Mike. But you're still in love with Mr. Hunk, aren't you?

Carrie: I'm just coming off a breakup with Mike. There's no way I can even think about another relationship. Besides, he's part of my past. Highstyle is my future. I came here to make a difference, and I haven't even been here that long. The last thing I want to do is upset the shareholders.

Becky: Okay. Makes sense. But if you could go back in time --

Carrie: I have no time for a relationship.

Becky: Oh, please. There's always time for a relationship, especially when you're actually in love, Carrie. If you still have feelings for him, pick up the phone and call him.

Carrie: What makes you think that I even have his number?

Becky: Oh, you're pretty resourceful, Carrie. If you didn't have it, you know how to get it. So pick up the phone and call him. And if he's not there, leave a number so he can call you back. Go.

Austin: Why were you holding my filofax?

Sami: I was just straightening up.

Austin: Okay. It stays on my desk, and I clean my desk.

Sami: Okay. Sorry. I was just picking up the dirty dishes off of Nicole's desk, and I got to straightening up the whole place. This whole apartment has been a pigsty even since she moved in.

Austin: Well, I am sorry that you feel that way since I'm the one that asked her to move in. But as soon as all the paperwork is filed for the move to the loft, we'll be out of your hair.

Sami: Yeah, but that's just the business side of things. Nicole will still be living with me, won't she? She has to find a new apartment, Austin, because I can't take it anymore -- we'll kill each other -- and it better not be with you.

Austin: Something else is going on.

Sami: No. Nothing. I'm fine.

Austin: [Chuckling] Oh, no. Oh, no. No, Sami. I know you. Something's going on, okay? I want you to tell me right now.

Eugenia: Okay, wait a minute. I worked my butt off researching Highstyle for you. You were so gung ho to take it over. Victor approved the proposal. So, what happened, Lucas?

Lucas: I just can't remember when I've been so shocked to see somebody. Are -- are you visiting? What are you doing in Highstyle's C.E.O.'s office?

Carrie: What are you doing in Highstyle's offices?

Lucas: Let's just say after meeting the new C.E.O., I-I didn't think that the company was right for I or Titan to break up. Dismantling it wouldn't have served Titan any real purpose, anyway.

Eugenia: Why? All the research showed that it would.

Lucas: I know what the research showed, Eugenia, all right? We're gonna concentrate on revitalizing Countess Wilhelmina and the Clear Visage line -- that's it.

Eugenia: Hey, you're the boss. But I can't help wondering about the competition.

Lucas: What do you mean?

Eugenia: Are you gonna allow Austin, Nicole, and Sami to just steal Highstyle for themselves?

Lucas: Well, if my brother wants to try to steal Highstyle, he's in for a big surprise when he sits down with the new C.E.O.

Sami: Look, Austin, I am upset about what happened to Jack, and I am upset about my niece -- about Claire. I'm upset about my relationship with my son. I'm just feeling overwhelmed by everything right now, not to mention all the research that I have to do for Highstyle. I realize that our entire future depends on us pulling this off.

Austin: Yes, it does, but I still think there's something you're not telling me. Fine. I have to finish getting dressed.

Sami: There is something I'm not telling you, Austin. I'm not telling you how disgusted I am about my stupid sister. I mean, I cannot believe that she cheated on you, that she wrecked your marriage. You deserve so much better than that. I cannot believe that you are still in love with her.

Eugenia: Oh, Sami. You just don't give up, do you?

Sami: [Exhales sharply]

Eugenia: No, I didn't break and enter. Your door was open.

Sami: Yeah, well, that's certainly not an invitation for you to walk in. What the hell do you want, Eugenia?

Eugenia: I was walking by, and I heard you talking to yourself -- again. [ Chuckling] I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. I guess since you can't have Lucas, you decided to settle for his older brother. You really think he deserves better than this other chick? Then he's gotta definitely deserve better than you, even if he is an idiot for hiring you. If I were you, Sami -- ew. If I were you, I'd stop before you make a fool out of yourself.

Mimi: Dear God, please be with Belle and Philip during this awful time. They really haven't had the chance to even enjoy their daughter yet because of Belle's depression. And she's just a little baby, Lord. I know every life is precious to you, so please give her the strength to fight, and please let her live out the future you have created for her to have. Amen.

[Exhales deeply]

Shawn D.: You were afraid that you couldn't do anything to help, did. God hears all our prayers. We just have to have faith that he'll answer them.

[Monitor beeping]

Belle: Look at her. She's just not getting any better. I'm so scared. [ Crying] What are all those needles for?

Lexie: Okay. We need to perform another spinal tap. Belle, it would be best if you waited outside.

Belle: I'm not going anywhere, and you're not doing anything else to my child!

Sami: What do you want, Eugenia?

Eugenia: Just like I said, I was just on my way out from working with Lucas, and your door was open.

Sami: And, unfortunately, it still is. Well, I'll fix that.

Eugenia: [Chuckling] Yeah. No. I'm just saying you just seem like you need someone to talk to, besides yourself.

Sami: I'm not talking to you.

Eugenia: Yeah, well, it's a little late for that 'cause, see, I already heard. Austin loves somebody else. Imagine that. Hmm. So, now that you can't have Austin, does that mean you're gonna go groveling back to Lucas, 'cause it sure didn't take you long to get over him -- the supposed love of your life.

Sami: Shut the hell up.

[Door locks]

Austin: Who was at the door?

Eugenia: You're gonna lose, Sami! You lost Lucas, and you're gonna lose Austin!

Austin: Who is that, and what is going on?

Sami: Eugenia -- the girl that works with Lucas. I don't know what she's babbling about.

Austin: [Exhales deeply] Well, now you know.

Sami: Austin, how could you still be in love with her?

Lucas: Hello.

Carrie: Hi, Lucas, it's Carrie.

Lucas: Hey.

Carrie: Did I catch you at a bad time?

Lucas: I, uh, I have to tie my tie. Can I put you on speakerphone?

Carrie: Sure.

Lucas: All right.

Carrie: On your way somewhere?

Lucas: Yeah, I have to go to my sister Jennifer's house.

Carrie: You sound upset. Is something wrong?

Lucas: Uh, Jack was killed last night.

Carrie: What? How?

Lucas: He went out in some bad weather to get Jen some flowers, and his car went off a bridge into the river.

Carrie: Oh, my God. So he -- he drowned?

Lucas: Apparently so. I guess. The police pulled the car up from the river, but Jack wasn't in it. And the current was pretty strong so they're thinking that -- that it took him pretty far.

Carrie: So they haven't found his body?

Lucas: No. Not yet.

Carrie: I'm so sorry. I loved Jack. I'm gonna e-mail Mike and let him know if he doesn't already know. Is there anything I can do?

Lucas: [Exhales deeply] I-I don't know, Carrie. I can let you know, though.

Carrie: What horrible news. I-I hate that our families have been through so much recently.

Lucas: Yeah, there's been some bad stuff going on, but look on the bright side. At least we get to have dinner tonight, right? Carrie, are you there?

Carrie: Um, yeah. Lucas, that's -- that's why I'm calling. Um, unfortunately, something's come up, and I need to cancel dinner.

Mimi: We should probably get back to the ICU and check on Belle and Philip and see how Claire's doing.

Shawn D.: Wait. Before you go back, there's, um, there's something that I've been thinking about that I wanted to say to you.

Mimi: What?

Shawn D.: No. No. It's just -- what I'm trying to say is that I've just enjoyed being with you.

Mimi: [Chuckles]

Shawn D.: Just all my life, you've been right in front of me. I just can't believe I never noticed.

Mimi: The story of my life, actually.

Shawn D.: No, I'm serious. I mean, it's not like I'm ready to walk down the aisle yet or anything. It's just...I've been really happy when I've been with you... and that I hope you feel the same way.

Belle: You are out of your mind if you think that I'm gonna let you touch my daughter again!

Philip: Belle, what is it?

Belle: They want to do another spinal tap.

Lexie: The infectious-disease specialists have ordered additional tests.

Belle: You keep doing all these tests. You still don't know anything.

Lexie: Well, the cause of sepsis can be very difficult to diagnose, Belle. We need to do everything we can to get as much information so that we'll know exactly what it is we're dealing with.

Belle: Which means that you're gonna stick all of those needles in her!

Philip: Honey, honey, honey, listen to me. Belle, what choice do we have? Lexie is our only option here. We have to trust her. She knows what she's doing.

Belle: [Scoffs] Does she?

Lexie: She'll be under local anesthetic, which will allow us to take the samples without much discomfort.

Belle: Are you sure of that?

Lexie: Yes. Look, the best thing for you to do right now is take a walk until this procedure is over.

Philip: The only thing we're gonna do here is get in the way, all right? Let's let them do their job. Come with me, all right? Come on. Come on.

Kate: Look, I'm gonna stay in the waiting room, and I'll let you know if Claire needs you, okay?

Philip: Thank you, mom.

Kate: Okay, lexie, it's just the two of us now, and I want to know what my granddaughter's chances really are.

Lexie: Kate, I can't answer that, mainly because I don't know what we're dealing with yet. I am not hiding anything from you, okay? I don't know what the odds are. I cannot give them to you right now, but I can promise that we are doing everything we can to help this little girl. Now if you would please wait outside.

Kate: Of course. Thank you, Lexie.

Mimi: Oh, no, look, Shawn. The blinds are closed. I hope nothing happened to the baby.

Shawn D.: Yeah, me too.

Nurse Jennifer: Her oxygen stats aren't coming up.

Lexie: Yeah, I know. I just hope we're able to stop the progression before the baby --

Nurse Jennifer: Are you okay, Lexie?

Lucas: So you're canceling on me?

Carrie: I'm sorry, Lucas. I told you yesterday that I had to work when you asked, and I never should have let you talk me into going out tonight. That was unfair of me. Things have gotten even crazier.

Lucas: No, I-I understand. Uh, I was just really looking forward to seeing you, but I guess it'll have to wait -- some other time.

Carrie: And we will, I promise. Thanks for being so understanding. And, again, tell Jennifer and Abby that my thoughts and prayers are with them.

Lucas: I will. I'll talk to you soon. [Sighs] Man. I don't believe that happened. Tsk. Damn.

[Telephone ringing] Man, I'm never gonna get out of here. Maybe it's Carrie. Maybe she changed her mind. Hello.

Kate: Hi, Lucas, it's me.

Lucas: [Sighs] What do you want, Kate? I'm in a hurry.

Kate: [Scoffs] So, now it's "Kate"?

Lucas: I told you no mother would do what you did to me. If you want to talk to Will, I'm sorry. He's not here.

Kate: No. Actually, I need to talk to you.

Lucas: Well, I'm really busy right now, okay? I don't have time. I don't whether you know this or not, but Jack Deveraux was killed the other night.

Kate: Yes, I did hear. It's a very tragic thing, Lucas.

Lucas: Yeah, so I'm going to Jennifer's right now, okay?

Kate: Listen to me. Before you go over there, could you come by the hospital, please?

Lucas: Why? What's going on?

Kate: Philip really needs your support. Claire is very ill. She has a massive infection, and Lexie thinks that her organs are beginning to fail.

Lucas: What?! How come no one told me about this sooner? Why?

Kate: I knew you didn't want to hear from me, Lucas, so I was just hoping that perhaps we would have good news before I had to call you, but now I really think Philip and Belle could use your support.

Lucas: All right. Uh, I'll be right over there. Then I'm gonna stop by Jennifer's. I guess I don't have any plans tonight because my dinner date canceled.

Kate: You had a date?

Lucas: An acquaintance -- an old acquaintance -- yes.

Kate: Oh. Someone I know?

Lucas: Look, I'll save you the temptation of trying to butt in my life, all right? It's somebody you know, and, yes, indeed, you would approve.

Kate: Oh. So then it's not Sami?

Lucas: No. No, it's not Sami.

Kate: Well, good. Good. Don't worry. I'm not gonna meddle.

Lucas: Well, good. I'm counting on that. Now, goodbye. No. You are nothing like Sami.

Kate: [Exhales deeply] Well, Lucas, you may hate me for what I've done, but at least you're moving on with life in a positive direction. And now if only Austin would do the same.

Austin: Sami, I can't believe -- yes, I can believe that you went through my things and then you lied to me about it.

Sami: You asked me to look in your filofax for an address for that meeting with the investor the other night. And then I dropped it on the ground when I went to put it away, and it fell open to a photo of my sister, so I read the entry next to it.

Austin: Did the entry say, "Sami, please read?"

Sami: No, but it was a picture of my sister in your organizer. Of course I was gonna read it. I couldn't help myself. And I'm glad that I did because you've been making a fool of me this whole time.

Austin: First of all, you can never help yourself. And how have I been making a fool of you? I have been up-front with you since the beginning.

Sami: No, you have not. You have been entirely cryptic this whole time! You were leading me and Nicole on purpose! You let us both think that you were in love with one of us!

Austin: You assumed that, okay? I was very clear that it's just business between us, okay? We're not lovers. I never came on to either you or Nicole. I never made false promises, did I?

Sami: No, but you could have been clearer. You could have said, "I am not in love with either one of you. I just want to get my business on its feet, and then I'm gonna sweep Carrie Brady off of hers."

Austin: Okay. Okay, you have to understand that I didn't -- don't -- want to talk about this with anyone, okay? Carrie is with Mike now. I don't know if she has any feelings for me at all.

Sami: But you have feelings for her, don't you? Austin, I-I have to ask you. Were you in love with her while you were engaged to me? Come on. I deserve to know the truth..

Kate: Wow. That was fast.

Lucas: Yeah, I called Jennifer and told her the situation. She said there were plenty of people at her house and that I should stay here -- it's more important to be with Belle and Philip.

Kate: Yeah. I read in the newspaper they couldn't find Jack's body. Is there any word on that?

Lucas: No. Jen said they're still combing the river and they haven't found anything yet.

Kate: God, that's terrible.

Lucas: What about the baby? Is there anything new?

Kate: No. They're still running tests.

Lucas: What about Belle and Philip? Are they with her?

Kate: No, because Lexie didn't want us in there, so Belle and Philip decided to get some fresh air.

Lucas: So all we do is wait, right?

Kate: Um, sorry that your, uh, your date was canceled.

Lucas: That's real smooth, mom.

Kate: What?

Lucas: What do you mean, "what?" I'm not gonna tell you who she is, all right?

Kate: Well, fine. That's fine. So, you like her, though?

Lucas: I wouldn't mind being reacquainted with her -- yeah.

Kate: Well, in that case, you have to go after it. I mean, if you are interested in her at all, go after her.

Lucas: You know what, mom? You're right.

Kate: Aha. So now it's "mom" again, huh?

Lucas: I got a call to make.

Philip: What's Lucas doing here?

Kate: Well, he came here to give his support to both of you. He had to make a phone call.

Philip: Oh.

Belle: Any news yet?

Kate: No, honey.

Lexie: Okay. We're all done.

Belle: How's the baby?

Lexie: She's sleeping. I think we got all the samples we needed, so hopefully we'll have some answers soon, all right?

[Monitor beeping]

Belle: [Sniffles]

[Door closes] What are we gonna do if I lose my baby?

Kate: I think your wife needs you.

Philip: Mm-hmm.

Kate: I hate to say this, but if you don't do something to make Shawn yours, he's gonna continue to gravitate towards Belle.

Austin: [Exhales deeply] No, Sami, it wasn't -- it's not like that at all. When I was with you, all I thought about was you.

Sami: Really?

Austin: Yes, really. But I will admit that when I broke up with you, yeah, I started wondering if I could work things out with Carrie. But it doesn't matter, okay? It's moot. She's with Mike now. I have to finish getting ready.

Sami: [Sighs]

[Door closes] Out of sight, out of mind, dear sister. I swear, as God is my witness, I am never gonna let you come between me and the man that I want ever again.

Lucas: [Exhales deeply]

[Telephone rings]

Becky: Good morning. Highstyle.

Lucas: Yes, this is Lucas Roberts. May I please speak to Carrie?

Becky: One moment, Mr. Roberts.

Carrie: Hi, Lucas. What's up?

Lucas: Hey, I just thought you should know that, um, I'm not at Jen's yet. I'm at University Hospital.

Carrie: Why? What's wrong?

Lucas: Uh, Belle's baby has a serious infection, and they're running tests right now. Um, I just wanted to be here to support Belle and Philip.

Carrie: Oh, my God. Is she gonna be okay?

Lucas: They don't know.

Carrie: I should be there.

Lucas: Well, I-I know Belle would really appreciate that.

Carrie: I wish I could... be there.

Lucas: That's all right. I understand.

Carrie: But Belle's been so overwhelmed with everything, and Marlena -- would you believe that I haven't even seen a picture of my new niece?

Lucas: Well, I could bring you one if you'd like -- that is, if you'd have dinner with me.

Carrie: Lucas, I told you I have tons of work.

Lucas: Yeah, I know that you have a lot of work to do, but you got to stop for dinner, right? Why don't you just work through lunch, and that way, you'll be real hungry. You'll be starving by the time I get there. Come on. You sound down. I know you want to get out of there. Why don't you make reservations at your favorite place, and then I'll meet you there?

Carrie: Oh, Lucas, I don't know.

Lucas: Come on. Who's really going out of his way for this, huh?

Carrie: Okay. You win. But with the price of fuel these days, aren't you running a huge bill on the Titan jet?

Becky: My God. He owns a jet?

Lucas: Don't worry about it. Victor won't mind a bit.

Carrie: You didn't tell him that you saw me?

Lucas: No, no, and I wonít. Uh, look, I should really go check up on the baby and then go to Jen's. Um, and then I'll be out there.

Carrie: Okay, Lucas. And I'm really looking forward to it.

Lucas: Me too. I'll see you soon.

[Exhales deeply]

Becky: I love it. I love it. He did not take no for an answer.

Carrie: He sure didnít.

Becky: I knew if you called him, things would work out.

Carrie: What are you talking about?

Becky: Uh, him.

Carrie: That's Austin. I was talking to his brother Lucas.

Sami: I'm making sure that I end up with Austin. Thank God Carrie is happily married halfway around the world.

Lucas: Now, you, my beautiful friend, are in for a night you'll never forget.

Hope: If that was your little girl in there fighting for her life.

Kate: [Thinking] That is shawn's little girl, and I have to make sure that neither of you ever know that.

Belle: First you lose mom, and now I can lose my baby.
