Nicole: What's your problem, Lucas?
Lucas: I don't have a problem, Nicole. Thank you. You, Austin, your business is doomed, man. You might as well file for bankruptcy right now. Austin Reed Enterprises or whatever you're calling it -- I don't know. It's not gonna last but what -- a week, maybe, tops?
Austin: You have your fun?
Austin: Well, you know what? I can understand why this would be uncomfortable for you. I'm working with your ex-wife and your ex-fiancé.
Lucas: She's your ex-wife. Your ex-wife and, I don't know, whatever Nicole was to you -- your ex-whatever. It's a joke.
Austin: Well, it doesn't have to be, if you've got the right attitude and you're hungry enough, and that's one thing Nicole, Sami, and I have in common. We need this to work.
Lucas: Yeah. I tried to make it work with them for years. It burned me. It burned me in ways I can't begin to explain. They're gonna do the same thing to you, so watch out, all right? When they backstab you and they lie to you and they destroy you, I'll be down the hall, just laughing my butt off.
Nicole: Whatever, Lucas. You know what? Go to hell, loser.
Sami: God, he is so bitter.
Nicole: Yeah. It's never his fault. It's always the other guy.
Sami: Austin, what are you thinking?
Austin: I don't know.
Nicole: Come on, you're not gonna buy that little act.
Austin: This might not be the best idea I've ever had.
Chelsea: I've decided to go with the platinum package -- the 90-minute Thai. massage, the deluxe green tea garden facial, the ginger wrap, the aroma-glow body polish, and the manicure and pedicure. Oh, lunch is included with that, right?
Gloriane: Yes, it certainly is. Will that be cash or charge?
Chelsea: Oh, that will be cash.
Gloriane: This way. Olga will be right with you.
Chelsea: Thank you.
Jennifer: Hey. I want to thank you again for that. It was so relaxing. What's wrong?
Jennifer: What? I know it's not nothing. Look at me. Tell me. Let me help you. You are always there for me. What's wrong?
Hope: Okay. All the time that bo has spent wondering about his daughter, it just -- it just never really occurred to me that she'd turn out to be someone that I really -- I don't like.
Jennifer: Oh, no. What has Chelsea done now?
Hope: She just went in for a treatment -- one of the most expensive treatments they have. And she paid in cash. Now, where the heck do you think she got that kind of cash to buy something like that?
Billie: I didn't just hear that.
Jack: You did. And I meant every word.
Billie: You can't kill yourself, Jack.
Jack: Exactly. That's why I need your help.
Billie: You're insane.
Jack: No. I'm not. I wish I was insane. Instead, what I am is dying of a terminal illness that's gonna kill me in a very short time. In that short amount of time, I wish to take control of my life.
Billie: Okay. No. It doesn't work that way, Jack. We don't get to decide when we're born, and we don't get to decide who we're born to. And we don't get to decide when we die, okay? That's left up to a higher power.
Jack: Well, my apologies to the higher power. Higher powers have put my family through the wringer one time too many. Not gonna happen again. From here on in, I'm taking control. I'm going to decide when, how, and where I die. And you're gonna help me.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives.
Jennifer: Maybe it wasn't Chelsea.
Hope: She's hard to miss.
Jennifer: Yeah, she's a beautiful girl.
Hope: Who hardly needs a day of beauty. Do you know what it costs to get the package she bought?
Jennifer: I don't know what any of this costs -- I told you.
Hope: Let's just say I've never ordered the platinum package myself.
Jennifer: Well, Hope, maybe she saved her money.
Hope: Are you kidding me? She just hit Bo up for $250 not that long ago to get the essentials for her new job. Now, even if she had some money left over, how could she possibly afford the star treatment?
Jennifer: Well, I don't know. Maybe Billie gave her some money.
Hope: No. It wasn't Billie. I don't agree with Billie very often, but she said she wanted to teach Chelsea the value of money, and Bo feels the same way. He agreed with me.
Jennifer: What about Kate? What about Caroline? This is a new granddaughter for them. Look at all the clothes that Kate has given her. A little here, a little there -- it all adds up.
Hope: And to blow it all on the platinum package at your local day spa. Hey.
Hope: You just went about, I don't know, a million miles away.
Jennifer: No, actually, 8,000 miles away. I was just thinking about my dad. He called me a couple of weeks ago. He's working at a new clinic in Soweto. Oh, boy, Hope. I mean, I'm talking slums. It's bad.
Hope: Hey. What could we do to help?
Jennifer: That's what -- when I was saying "a little here, a little there," if we all gave a little, we could help people who desperately need it. And that's why when I think of Chelsea, maybe she just doesn't realize how the rest of the world could possibly be living. And maybe she wouldn't think so much about herself if she knew.
Hope: Unfortunately, if Chelsea knew, if she was here right now, listening, I don't think she'd give a damn.
Billie: You're not thinking rationally, Jack.
Jack: Oh, but I am. Rationally speaking, this is my finest hour. I mean it. I've thought this through completely.
Billie: With your head... 'cause you're a thinker, Jack. You're a newspaper man, one of the best. And when you grab on to a story, you don't let go until you get all the information. But this is about emotions and hearts that will be broken -- hearts of the people you love the most.
Jack: You see, I'm sparing the hearts of the people that I love most as much pain as possible.
Billie: By disappearing off the face of the earth? Poof! Jack's gone. Bye-bye.
Jack: Not exactly poof. But basically, yes. I'll be gone. And they will mourn. And they will move on. But I will have spared them the pain of watching me die a slow, agonizing death.
Billie: Jack, there are people who would gladly give a year of their lives to be with the people that they love, to support and comfort them... to be with them in their arms. It's the sudden shock of loss that's the most traumatic. I learned that in the police academy -- grief counseling.
Jack: Well, thank you, counselor. It grieves me to tell you this, but you haven't changed my mind.
Billie: You're robbing your family of hope.
Jack: Hope. What hope? Hope for what? That I die nice? I'm gonna die. We're all gonna die. It's just a matter of time. I'm just -- I'm just giving it a little push. That's all.
Billie: I'm disappointed in you, Jack. I never thought that my best pal would turn out to be such A... coward.
Lucas: Ah, there she is.
Lucas: My aunt Maggie. This is gonna be such a treat, having coffee with you. My favorite woman in the whole world and the only woman I've ever known who hasn't ruined one single moment of my life.
Maggie: [Whistles] I'm flattered. But that's gonna change one of these days. That lucky woman is out there somewhere.
Lucas: Hey, I'm not worried about my love life -- not anymore. It's all about business for me. If I succeed in business, then I'll worry about marriage and family and all that..
Maggie: Well, then, on that note, I got you a little gift to celebrate your first day at Titan.
Lucas: Oh. You didn't have to do that.
Maggie: I know.
Lucas: Rascal -- I'm glad you did, but you didn't have to.
Maggie: Wait till you see it.
Lucas: What did you get me, here? I'm scared. Something gonna pop out at me?
Lucas: Oh, this is beautiful. "Believe in yourself." Do you know that's something I have trouble doing?
Maggie: I know. So I want you to put that on your desk and look at it at least once a day.
Lucas: All right.
Maggie: Victor obviously believes in you. He hired you.
Lucas: Yeah, he hired me after Austin turned the job down.
Maggie: Come on. Don't go there. This is an opportunity that has come to you, Lucas. Now it's up to you, what you do with it.
Lucas: You're right. I gotta make the most of it. Victor's gonna be watching me like a hawk, especially since St. Brady's gone -- his grandson. Boy, the gains Titan made when Brady and Nicole were running that business -- it's gonna be hard to beat.
Maggie: Yeah, I know. The business climate is changed completely today. But you, Lucas, are gonna pull Titan out of its slump.
Lucas: Yeah, well, I hope so.
Maggie: I know so.
Lucas: And I know what you're doing. You're my A.A. sponsor. You're trying to pump me up, aren't you? I see right through your game.
Lucas: It's tough sometimes, because people don't really accept me because I worked for Tony DiMera.
Maggie: So, are you working for him now?
Lucas: No, come on. Of course not.
Maggie: And are you ever gonna do anything so stupid again?
Lucas: Well, no, I hope not..
Maggie: Well, that's what I like to hear. But if you have a moment of self-doubt, you know my number.
Lucas: Yeah. Still, today would be easier to deal with if I had a glass of scotch in my hand.
Nicole: Austin, don't let Lucas change your mind. He's just angry because Sami betrayed him. It's her specialty.
Sami: Are you serious? You are the reason that Lucas started drinking. If it weren't for that, he wouldn't have gotten plastered and almost died in that fire and lost months of his life in a coma. His whole life would have been different if it weren't for you.
Nicole: Wow. Wow. You have some nerve blaming me, Stan. Yeah, that's right. You're never gonna live it down, because you betrayed the whole town of Salem, and Lucas had to find out during his wedding ceremony. Nice job, there.
Sami: Oh, shut up.
Austin: Hey! If this is your guys' way of convincing me that Lucas is wrong, it's not working. You're proving his point beautifully. Now, I don't know. I just don't think you guys are capable of working together.
Sami: Wait a second, Austin. I can work with anyone. I worked for John Black and Kate Roberts. I'm not trying to bad-mouth your mother -- I'm just pointing out that she and I have some really serious personal problems. If I can work with them, I can work with anyone.
Nicole: Oooh. Wow. Sami, news flash. You won't be working with me. You'll be working for me. Yeah, that's right. I'll be your boss, because I have executive experience. Now, look, when we look at titan's bottom line when I was in the V.P.'s office, well, there's your proof that I can work with anyone -- me.
Sami: Austin, you said that I was gonna be working directly for you. Why does she get to be my boss?
Nicole: Sami, you don't even have a high school diploma.
Sami: Does she get to talk to me like that?
Austin: So far Nicole has not said anything that isn't true. She has the experience, and you don’t.
Hope: I don't mean to be a hypocrite. I mean, here we are, indulging ourselves in a day of pampering. But this is an exception for us, a special treat. I know that Chelsea lost her adoptive parents, and I know that she has been through so much at a very young age, but how do I get her to understand that no amount of money or material things is going to take away that pain? I feel sometimes like she's so obsessed with material, superficial things.
Jennifer: Hope, but do you really think that the only thing Chelsea cares about is herself, really?
Hope: All right, now, I'm trying to picture Abby spending what Chelsea probably spent on the platinum package. Abby -- she's such a great kid. Just the other day she was knocking on our door, asking for pledges for "light the night" walk. And not that long ago, wasn't she doing volunteer work for a habitat in humanity house?
Jennifer: Hope, you have to understand -- she grew up working in clinics with my dad in Africa. She has a whole different view of looking at the world. You know what I mean? She teaches me things. You should see how she saves money.
Hope: A little here, a little there.
Jennifer: Yeah. She uses her allowance, her birthday money. She makes Jack and I empty out our pockets for change. She made a little container that says "money for Africa," and little by little, she fills it up, yeah.
Hope: That is great.
Jennifer: She loves helping people. So anyway, she's gonna take this container, she's gonna send it to my dad for Christmas so he can use the money for medicine.
Hope: It's amazing. That is so great. See, I can't imagine Chelsea doing something like that. I know that Bo and Billie feel very guilty about not being there for Chelsea while she was growing up, but I'm just -- I'm so afraid that bo is gonna try to make it up to her by overindulging her. Not that Bo shouldn't help support his daughter. That is not what I am saying, because I want Chelsea to have everything she needs, everything we can give her. But if she's hitting Bo up for cash when she really doesn't need it, if she's lying to him [Sighs] That would make me really angry.
Jennifer: No, I know. I don't blame you for that.
Gloriane: We offer custom color for your toenails. It's extra, but it's lovely.
Chelsea: I'll take it. I think it's important to spoil yourself every now and then.
Bo: I love having a daughter. I just gotta get used to the fact that my wallet will be a little thinner.
Chelsea: What are you doing?
Bo: I'm gonna give you another 250 bucks. But this time, I want you to promise me to be a little more careful, all right? Don't spend it all in one place.
Chelsea: I promise.
Chelsea: [Thinking] I'll never run out of money. There's plenty more where this came from.
Jack: Coward? I may be a lot of things, but I'm not a coward. How could you call me a coward?
Billie: Remember your wedding vows, Jack? "For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, till death do us part"? Not till "suicide do us part." You have a responsibility, your vow, to Jennifer.
Jack: Not till you stand here -- not till you stand here can you tell me about my vow to Jennifer. I vowed to take care of Jennifer, and I am. I am protecting Jennifer and my whole family from the pain of watching me die a slow and painful death.
Billie: Oh, that's a bunch of bull.
Jack: No, it's -- they have been through enough. They've lost me twice. Jennifer has gone through a risky pregnancy, mourning me the whole time. She has been through enough. I got on the computer out there. I found the perfect way to die. But I can't do it alone.. I need help from someone who won't blow it. You're in the I.S.A. You can do this. You can make it look like it wasn't a suicide.
Billie: Do you know what would happen if the insurance company found out about this? Your family would get nothing, Jack -- nothing.
Jack: They're not gonna find out. That's the beauty of it. You're gonna make sure no one finds out. I'll just be gone. Then later on, when they find my body, everyone's gonna think it's just this nasty little degenerative, fatal disease that I was so lucky to get.
Billie: Jack --
Jack: Don't feel sorry for me. Don't feel sorry for me. I don't feel sorry. I'm past all that. It's about taking care of my family -- protecting Jennifer, Abigail, and Jack Jr. That's all.
Billie: It doesn't have to be this way, Jack.
Jack: It's my life. It's my death! It's my choice!
Billie: Okay. It's my life... and my conscience. My choice. I'm sorry, Jack. You're on your own. I won't help you kill yourself. (Theme music playing)
Maggie: You are kidding me. A glass of scotch? Oh, come on, Lucas. You can't mean that.
Lucas: I do mean that. My life would be a hell of a lot easier if I had a glass of scotch in my hand. I'm sorry -- that's how I feel. I haven't done it yet, and I won’t.
Waitress: What can I get you?
Maggie: Café latte, please.
Lucas: I'll have a grande cappuccino, thanks. I'm sorry, all right? Where were we?
Maggie: Oh, I have a confession of my own. I walked past a lot of liquor stores when that Bonnie Lockhart was living with Mickey and me.
Lucas: I can't blame you too much. That lady would drive anybody to drink. She's like my double ex-fiance. She's a little crazy.
Maggie: How are things with you and Sami and Will?
Lucas: Well, I didn't marry her. She's out of my life, and she's out of my son's life. That's really all there is to say.
Maggie: Not necessarily. I know you want to be over her. I mean, nobody wants to be lied to and taken advantage of.
Lucas: Thank you.
Maggie: Okay, but are you truly over Sami? Isn't there a part of you that is still in love with her?
Sami: It's not like you have a college diploma either.
Nicole: Look, Sami. Sami, I said you don't have a high school diploma, one of the basic things in life.
Sami: A lot of people are very successful who didn't graduate from high school.
Nicole: Name one.
Nicole: Jeez, Austin.
Austin: If we can't work together without arguing and fighting, sniping every other moment, I'm gonna rethink my plan of hiring you -- both of you.
Sami: Austin, why are you hiring us if you don't believe in us?
Austin: Because I think you two have a lot more to offer than you've ever been given credit for. You're gutsy, you go after what you want, and you don’t give up. You're both very competitive with each other, and I'll be honest with you -- I'm expecting that to work for me. Just as long as we stick to the ground rules. You'll both get profit sharing and stock in the company, which should give you plenty of incentive to make lots of money. We're gonna get rich together, like Bill Gates and all those dudes that were with him in the beginning. They're all multimillionaires now.
Sami: Aaaah! Oh, my God! Nicole!
Nicole: Aah! Oh! Ohhh! Sami!
Austin: Hey, Mickey. You got those figures for me? Great. Wait, hold on a second. I've got to take this call. Play nice.
Sami: Listen to me. Austin knows that I have a very good reason why I didn't graduate high school. And he knows that I am full of good ideas and that I'm really good at marketing and promotion.
Nicole: Promotion of yourself, yeah, but I know how to service my customers.
Nicole: You know what, Sami? If you keep throwing my past in my face, so help me --
Sami: You'll what, start throwing my past in my face? All the Stan references and my wedding fiascoes -- like that?
Nicole: Just don't get your hopes up about impressing Austin, okay? I've already staked out that territory.
Sami: Well, I'll tell you the territory I staked out. You're standing in it. Every night after work, this is where Austin and I live. I can talk to him about whatever I want -- work or anything else that comes up.
Nicole: Wow. I thought you loved Lucas.
Sami: I do. But he's obviously made it clear that he wants to move on. And he made it really clear to a cocktail waitress last night. So I have to look somewhere else. But I'm not gonna be chasing after Austin.
Nicole: Wow. Lucas got over you already? That's too bad.
Sami: That's right -- I just can't manage to have relationships as successful as yours. Like, maybe with Eric -- how you scared him so bad that he had to leave town and never come back? Then of course there was Lucas.
Nicole: At least he married me.
Sami: You mean, his mother paid you $5 million to marry him.
Sami: Yeah, there's a word for that. What's -- "cheap whore." [Chuckles] That's it.
Nicole: You know what, Sami? She gave me $5 million. I hardly call that cheap.
Sami: 5 bucks or 5 million, a whore is still a whore, Nicole. And then of course Victor came next, right? And he married you, too. How do you do that? There's always something sick and twisted about the whole thing, though, right? Like how you tried to kill Colin on the night of your wedding to Victor? And then of course you tried to kill Victor, too. But of course the police couldn't prove it. But you and I both know you're capable of it, most recently proven by what you did to Chloe, just to keep Brady in your bed.
Nicole: I love Brady.
Sami: Yeah, you run very deep, Nicole. Anyone can see that.
Nicole: Sami, Sami. You were supposed to help me keep Brady, and you didn't do anything.
Sami: Oh, are you gonna start to cry, Nicole?
Nicole: Shut up.
Sami: Are you gonna push my buttons? I could tell this entire town about the flesh-eating bacteria that you gave Chloe just so you could hold on to Brady, even though you knew that he didn't really love you. And then you'll lose what little respect that Austin still has for you. And after the trial, you'll never be able to set foot in a boardroom again, except for, of course, as a maid...when you're...60. [Laughs] Right?
Nicole: [Chuckles] Yeah.
Austin: Wow, you two look like you're getting along now.
Chelsea: Oh, um, can I buy some of that facial mask you used on me?
Gloriane: It's $50 a tube.
Chelsea: I'll take one.
Jennifer: Now, I don't want to bring up a touchy subject, but do you think that Bo gave her the money?
Hope: No. We talked about it after the last time she hit him up.
Jennifer: What do you mean?
Hope: We discussed that Chelsea really needs to learn responsibility. And Bo agrees with me. He feels the same way. It's what we've always tried to do with Shawn. It's just a little harder with Chelsea because --
Jennifer: Because Bo feels guilty. He wants her to love him.
Jennifer: But doesn't he know that if he says no every once in a while, she might not pull back?
Hope: Chelsea's making the most of it -- believe me. She plays bo against Billie, Billie against Bo.
Jennifer: Oh, my goodness. I just want this to be over for you. I want this to go away so you guys can just go on.
Hope: Your mouth to God's ears.
Chelsea: You know, I'm not too sure about this color. It's a little too....something. It's too dark or too deep or too dull. Yeah, it's too dull. What color is Mischa Barton wearing this month? One of you go get a magazine and find out for me. Uh, magazine? Mischa? Now.
Jack: What can I say? I need you, Billie. I need you. I need you to help me pull this thing off so nobody knows what happened.
Billie: Obviously you have conflicted feelings about this. Otherwise you wouldn't be trying to hide it.
Jack: The point is to hide it. Are you being purposely dense here?
Billie: Jack, I don't want to see this happen.
Jack: If by that, you mean you don't want to see me die, that makes at least two of us.
Billie: No, there's more than two of us. I know you're worried about Jennifer. And I know that she'd want to be there as long as possible, to be with you.
Jack: Holding my hand, cooling my brow, not eating, not drinking -- not living. Just sitting, watching me die.
Billie: Okay, what do you want her to do? You want her to go dancing?
Jack: Yes. Yes, I do. After a suitable mourning period, of course. Look, she's gonna want to respect the memory of our marriage. I know that. But in time -- in time, Billie, promise me you're gonna help her get out and get on with her life as soon as possible.
Billie: Can't you just hang on, Jack? You never know -- in time there could be a breakthrough.
Jack: A breakthrough? There's not gonna be a breakthrough. Billie, I've done the research. It's terminal. Terminal. There's no hope. That means I'm gonna die. I'm going to die.
Billie: You never know, Jack. There could still be a cure.
Jack: [Sighs] You are making this so hard. I'm trying to be positive. And it ain't easy. I'm gonna go before my kids. That's a good thing. I'm not going to walk my daughter down the aisle when she gets married... probably to some worthless young man. I won't have to pay for the wedding. That's a good thing. My son will never know me. He'll never know the pain of losing his father. That's a good thing. And when Jennifer remarries --
Billie: What do you mean?
Jack: When she remarries -- she's a beautiful woman. It's gonna happen. It's a good thing. I love her. I want her to be happy.
Billie: Then why don't you do her a favor, Jack? Don't commit suicide.
Jack: I'm going to do this thing... with or without you.
Billie: Then it's gonna have to be without... because I won't be a party to something I don't believe in.
Jack: I appreciate your honesty.
Billie: Then are you gonna tell Jennifer what you're planning?
Billie: Jack, she has to know.
Jack: Are you insane? We're talking about the one person who could probably talk me out of this.
Billie: That makes sense.
Jack: What are you doing?
Billie: I'm calling the one person who can talk you out of it.
Maggie: Thank you.
Waitress: No problem.
Lucas: Believe me -- this is the most potent liquid I've had in a while. So you can stop your worrying.
Maggie: I'm glad to hear it.
Lucas: And I got more good news. I am not -- I repeat -- I am not still in love with Sami. She almost killed us all in a war zone. She left us there to be executed. And then conveniently, she decides to save us. You know what? I cannot believe -- I can't believe that I almost tied my life to hers forever.
Maggie: You are in denial. You and Sami will always be tied together through Will.
Lucas: Really. But that's the thing, aunt Maggie -- will wants nothing to do with her. He hates her. It's Will's dream to have his parents together -- live with his mom and his dad. With Sami as his mom, that dream's just not gonna come true now, is it?
Maggie: Lucas, I know you very well. You have a very big heart, and you are a very loyal guy. But do you really expect me to believe that you are already over your love for Sami?
Lucas: Look, I can't hate her, all right? She gave me a son.
Lucas: All right, fine, aunt Maggie, fine. I still love her. You want to hear me say it? You want to break me down? I admit it. I'm stupid. I still love her. Can I get another one of these, please?
Maggie: You don't need more coffee, sweetheart. You need to be honest with yourself.
Lucas: Why? Why would I get back with Sami? That lying, manipulative, backstabbing witch. I --
Maggie: So you can move on... with self-knowledge.
Lucas: What, you mean fall in love?
Maggie: Yes! Yes!
Lucas: That might happen. But not with Sami. I guarantee that. You know how serious I am, aunt Maggie? You know how serious I am about never being with Sami again? I would go back to drinking before I went back to Sami. At least then it would be a more pleasurable way of killing myself.
Sami: Austin, I want you to know that Nicole and I had a real heart-to-heart while you were on the phone with Mickey. And, um, we've agreed that I should be more humble. I can be humble.
Sami: What are you laughing at? I'm serious. I understand that what you said is right. Nicole has more experience than I do. And that's what's good for our company. "Our company" -- I like the sound of that. Look, I really need this job, and I am not afraid to admit that. And if that means working with Nicole, then I can do it. Look, I can work with anyone that you hire. I know that this is my chance to really make something of my life... and to make a lot of money in the process, right?
Austin: Hear! Hear! So, what do you say, Nicole?
Nicole: Yes. Of course, yes. I can put aside my personal feelings for Sami. That is, if we're working for the common good, all right? We're not trying to sabotage each other.
Austin: This is great. Okay, now, I just worked out -- Mickey and I just worked out the initial cash-flow projections, you know, out-of-pocket expenses, but I'm gonna be really conservative in the beginning, so don't expect a lot in your pay envelopes just yet.
Sami: That's okay with me. Since we're gonna be sharing rent, that'll help out a lot.
Nicole: Yeah, well, lucky you. [Chuckles] I was living at my mom's, and that didn't work out, and now I'm at the "Y," which I thought would be temporary, but... since my new job isn't paying much, I can't get a new apartment. They do need first and last months' rent..
Sami: Wow, that's tough. You want a soda?
Austin: What about your settlement from Victor?
Nicole: Yeah, right. Yeah, Victor's figuring out a way to make sure his lawyers give me absolutely nothing.
Sami: Hey, Austin, I've got root beer. You want?
Nicole: I have to have someplace to live.
Austin: Yeah. Wow, this is totally crazy, but, um, you know, I have a great idea. Why don't you move in with Sami and me?
Lucas: I'll make you a deal. I won't bring up the blond bimbo who runs Alice's if you don't bring up the blond bimbo I didn't marry.
Lucas: Good. It's all about making good on the job. Gotta impress the hell out of Victor.
Maggie: And you will.
Lucas: Thank you for meeting me this morning and jump-starting my career and my day. A little tough love is what I needed.
Maggie: Anytime. And I am happy to be your motivational consultant.
Lucas: There you go. You're hired. Today's the first day of my highly successful career. No more blond distractions. It's all about the j-o-B.
Maggie: You bet. Gotcha.
Sami: Austin, how can Nicole move in here?
Nicole: Oh, my gosh, Austin. That is the kind of brilliance that separates the winners from the also-rans. You know, we could brainstorm 24/7, work on twice as many projects. No megasuccessful company makes it without burning the midnight oil. [Gasps] We'll have an edge on the competition that will make their heads spin. Yes, of course, I am in.. Thank you. I totally accept your offer.
Sami: [Clears throat] This is my apartment.
Austin: Oh, Sami, you know, I'm sorry. I should have asked you first. You're absolutely right. But I just assumed, since you and Nicole promised that you were gonna get along from now on, that...
Sami: Well, yeah. We're gonna try, but 24 hours a day is a lot -- a lot to ask.
Austin: Well, I mean, was that just an act to get on my good side, or...
Sami: Is this a test?
Austin: I don't know. I mean, if you can't be honest with me, I don't think this is gonna work out.
Sami: Austin, I am being honest with you.
Nicole: Sami, I really do need a place to live.
Sami: [Grunts] Okay. Okay, you can stay here.
Austin: Great. I have -- I have such a good feeling about this. You know what? We're gonna all be giving up a little bit of privacy, but it's for a good cause.
Sami: [Chuckles] [Thinking] You are going to pay for this, Nicole.
Nicole: [Thinking] 12 more hours a day to get my hooks into Austin. Oh, my.
Chelsea: Thank you.
Gloriane: Are you satisfied with your nails now?
Chelsea: Oh, yeah. The color is absolutely perfect. Thank you for taking the extra time. But I am late for my next treatment, so...good job.
Gloriane: Come back again soon. Da, nice girl.
Chelsea: I always pay for extra-special attention. Bye, girls.
Jennifer: All right, well, I better get home to Jack. I don't want to be away from him any longer.
Hope: All right, sweetie. I love you.
Jennifer: I love you. Thank you again for this treat. You think Jack will notice?
Hope: Are you kidding? Absolutely. You look beautiful.
Jennifer: Are you coming?
Hope: I thought maybe I'd wait and talk to Chelsea.
Jennifer: Well, you know, Hope, don't be too hard on her. I mean, she'll run straight to Bo, and then that will put him in a tough spot.
Hope: Don't worry. It's okay, okay? I just want to make sure she's not taking advantage of her father -- my husband.
Jack: If you value your life so much, you'd better not -- don't you say one word to Jennifer about my plan.
Billie: Is that a threat?
Jack: I'm a desperate man. You do the math.
Billie: Jack, I understand it, but my heart just won't agree with it.
Jack: You promised me! You promised me that you would not say anything. You gave me your word.
Billie: That was before I knew what you were planning. Now, for your own good and for Jennifer's, I'm sorry, Jack, but I'm breaking my word.
Bo: 'Cause if anyone hurts my daughter, they'll have to deal with me.
Chelsea: As long as my mother, Billie, is around, you'd better watch your back.
Jack: It's what I have to do. If you can't help me, I'll have no choice but to disappear and do it myself.
Jennifer: Oh, my gosh. Have you lost your mind?
