Nancy: Stop what you're doing right now. I saw you trying to peel the label off of this file. This patient happens to be my daughter. Are you deaf? Explain yourself, missy, or I am going to pick up the phone, call Dr. Weiss, and report you.

Billie: What's wrong?

Bo: I can't do this -- not till I tell Hope what's going on.

Jack: Cassie, you're still asleep? We're about to land. You slept through the whole flight.

Cassie: I was exhausted.

Jack: I can't blame you. I haven't had a good night's sleep since I don't know when.

Cassie: You'll sleep well tonight. You'll be with your family.

Jack: My family, that's right. That's all I seem to be thinking about. While I'm on the subject, you know, I think today -- I think today my daughter turns 17. 17 years old, wow.

[Door opens]

Mary: Mrs. Deveraux, I'm gonna order up a roll-away bed for you.

Jennifer: Oh, that's great. Thank you so much.

Abby: Mommy?

Jennifer: Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up.

Abby: Where am I?

Jennifer: You're in I.C.U. You're in intensive care right now.

Abby: I thought I was doing better.

Jennifer: Well, you know, Lexie just, uh, she wants to make sure that your blood pressure gets monitored overnight. And they just wanna keep an eye on a few other things. It's okay.

Abby: Mom, thank you for being here. I love you so much.

Jennifer: Oh, sweetie, I love you more than anything. Do you know that?

Abby: I'm so sorry, mom. I'm sorry for the way I've treated you. You're the best mom and the only mom I could ever have. What would I do without you?

Jennifer: Don't start crying, honey.

Abby: You don't cry, either.

Jennifer: Okay. You know, it was so funny, you were sleeping before, and you were just smiling away.

Abby: I had a dream -- the best dream. We were all together -- you and Jack Jr. and dad.

Jennifer: Really, your dad?

Abby: Yeah. It was today -- my birthday. There was a cake with 17 candles on it. You lit them all. And then dad said, "don't forget to make a wish."

Jennifer: And what did you wish for, sweetie? Do you remember?

Abby: I said I didn't need to make a wish because it had already come true. We were all together. Sorry it was just a dream.

Jennifer: Well, my wish today was that my little girl wouldn't be taken away from me. And my wish came true.

Abby: I wish all our wishes could.

Kate: Oh, I pray this plane has our sons on it. I was praying for Philip’s safe return, and now we have to worry about Lucas and Rex and Brady.

John: And Shawn.

Kate: Yes, and Shawn. I just wish he hadn't involved the boys. You shouldn't have come out tonight. You're still too weak.

John: I'm okay. I didn't want you waiting here alone.

Kate: I'll go back with you. We'll go back to the penthouse, and we'll just -- we'll call the airport from there.

John: No, no. We're gonna wait right here. We're gonna watch that jet land, and we're gonna find out who's on it.

Marlena: We're almost there. We're almost home.

Roman: Whew. Good old Salem, U.S.A. Boy, it sounds good, doesn't it?

Marlena: Yeah. It's been nearly a -- nearly a year since I've seen John and my family. Now that we're so close, I feel like I can't wait one more moment.

Roman: Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. And when I see Kate, I'm gonna grab a hold of her, and I am never gonna let go. What is it, Doc?

Marlena: I just feel that there've been so many changes, you know, in our children's lives, too. We don't know what we're going home to. I feel like I -- like I'm disconnected from my old life. I -- I don't know what I'm saying.

Roman: Of course you do. Come on, you're the woman with the words. And you can talk to me about anything.

Marlena: Roman, I'm -- I'm scared.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives.

Kate: You are such a gallant man, but I can't stand seeing you in this kind of pain.

John: Well, I got a little secret. As long as I have you with me, I can get through anything.

Kate: I feel the same way.

John: I meant what I told Belle. I love you, Kate.

Kate: After roman died, I told Philip that I couldn't imagine ever loving another man. But he told me that I was so filled with love that I shouldn't let that part of my life go. And then he asked me about you.

John: Way back then?

Kate: Yeah. Yeah, I think because we had known each other so long, and because we worked together, or... he wondered if there could ever be anything between us at some point.

John: Yeah? What'd you say?

Kate: I said that I didn't know. Because I was so filled with grief, I couldn't think about the future.

John: And now? I'm only asking because I-I just noticed that you didn't say anything when I said that I loved you.

Kate: I know. I'm sorry.

John: Don't be sorry.

Kate: No. No, that's not it. It's -- it's just that I can't stop thinking about the boys, and them being at the mercy of Shawn’s insane plan.

John: I know, I put you on the spot. Pretty lousy timing.

Kate: No. No, you didn’t. You didn't because it made me feel, and -- it made me -- it gave me hope because you had such strong feelings for me.

John: Hey, it's okay. You don't have to say anything. It's all right.

Kate: No, it's not. It's not okay. Because you were very brave, and I was a coward. And because I've loved you for a long, long time, but I couldn't admit it -- not even to myself. I just -- I just put the thought aside. But the truth is -- the real truth -- that the past is in the past, and we can't change that. But our future is blessed. And I believe with all my heart that my future is with you.

Roman: Doc, what's got you scared?

Marlena: It's not just one thing. We've been gone so long, I don't know what we're coming home to. Now, thanks to Tony, of course, we've had very graphic pictures of what John and Kate have been up to while we were gone. And I don't -- I don't blame them. I don’t. It's -- it's natural. They thought that we were dead. They've been friends for a very long time, and they work together, and... it's natural they would turn to each other for comfort.

Roman: I'll tell you this, I never thought that I would be grateful to Tony DiMera, but I'm glad we know about John and Kate.

Marlena: Are you? Why?

Roman: Yeah. Yeah, 'cause I'd hate coming home and finding out later they'd been together.

Marlena: Roman.

Roman: Doc, believe me, it was rough rolling back into Salem years ago thinking you and I were still married, and then finding out that you and John were living what was supposed to be our life. And then we all made the worst mistake we could make -- we pretended, and we went on as if nothing happened. And then when I realized that you still had feelings for John, well, it threw me off my bearings for a long time. I didn't know what the hell I was doing with my life.

Marlena: That won't happen this time because whatever we find, we'll always have each other.

Man on P.A.: We've begun our final approach into Salem airport, so please fasten your seatbelts and prepare for landing.

Jack: I just wanted to let you know... I think -- whoa!

Jennifer: Aunt Maggie, I hope you didn't have too hard of a time getting him back down.

Maggie: Jack Jr.? Oh, no. He is the sweetest, the darlingest, the easiest baby. Mickey and I are in our glory. Next best thing to having grandchildren. Ah, and an added bonus -- we're in a Bonnie-free zone. Look, all kidding aside, I'm glad Abby is okay.

Jennifer: Oh, I know, aunt Maggie. Thank you so much. Listen, can I ask you one more favor?

Maggie: Mm-hmm. Sure. Anything.

Jennifer: Would you mind packing me an overnight bag just with, um, you know, pajamas and a toothbrush, and maybe a change of clothes? I need to stay here tonight with Abby.

Maggie: That's wonderful. Now, listen, you know that we will watch Jack Jr. as long as you need us to.

Jennifer: Thank you so much.

Maggie: Well, then, I'll see you in a little bit. Love you.

Jennifer: I love you, too, aunt Maggie. Bye-bye.

Maggie: Bye.

Mickey: So, is Abby okay?

Maggie: Yeah, no change. They're gonna keep her overnight for observation, though. I know she was a lucky girl considering, but oh, what a place to spend her birthday.

Mickey: Yeah.

Maggie: Do you think that Jennifer would like us to take these decorations down, Mickey?

Mickey: You know something? I have an idea.

Maggie: I think I have the same idea.

Mickey: If Abby can't come to her own birthday party...

Maggie: Then we'll take the party to her.

Mickey: All right, let's go.

Maggie: Okay. Great.

Abby: How's the baby?

Jennifer: Well, he's great. He's sleeping like a baby.

Abby: I miss him already. Is it time to take my temperature again?

Mary: No, but good news. Chelsea is awake and asking to see you.

Jennifer: That's wonderful.

Abby: Does she know her parents are dead?

Nancy: I'm talking to you.

Nicole: Yes, I--

Nancy: Speak up!

Nicole: [Coughing]

Nancy: Oh, my goodness. You shouldn't even be at the hospital spreading germs like that.

Nicole: I'm coming down with a bad cold.

Nancy: Well, you're gonna be coming down with a much more serious condition, like a broken nose, if you do not explain what you were doing with my daughter's x-ray.

Nicole: [Wheezes]

Billie: This is our daughter we're searching for.

Bo: And I have a marriage to protect. I should not be leaving town -- especially with you -- without talking to my wife first.

Billie: I gave you that option before we left. You decided to come with me. Now I think that it's worth keeping Hope in the dark for just a few more hours if it means finding whoever's keeping our daughter, especially if she's in danger or hurt. This is her blood on this sweater.

Bo: All right, we don't know how it got there. We don't know if this is another trap.

Billie: Well, how are we supposed to find out? If we waste any more time, and we don't follow this lead, I'll never forgive myself, Bo. It's Ogden. Do you know what that does to me? That's right outside of Salem. Our daughter may have been right under our noses this whole time. I'll make a deal with you. Just come with me, let's go check out this lead first, and then you can go home to Hope. Okay? Please?

Chelsea: Abby. Hey. I'm so glad to see you. I'm glad you're okay.

Abby: How are you feeling?

Chelsea: They won't tell me anything about my parents. Do you know? How are they? When do I get to see them?

Cassie: Oh, my God, Jack, what is going on?

Jack: I don't know. Hang on tight.

Roman: You okay?

Marlena: I will be when I know what caused all that.

Man on P.A.: Sorry about that, folks. The air is a little choppy up here. So you better keep those seatbelts fastened for the remainder of the flight.

Cassie: I cannot wait for this flight to be over.

Jack: Me neither.

Cassie: Yes, but for different reasons. You can't wait to get back to your family. I just had an awful déjà vu of escaping that island and almost drowning. Please, let us be the ones to get back home this time.

Jack: Cassie, nothing's gonna keep us from our families. Nothing's gonna keep me from Jennifer ever again.

Roman: Hey, are you sure? You sure you're okay?

Marlena: Just when you think it's all going to be all right, something like that happens. It makes me start to mistrust the future.

Roman: Hey, come on. We're still here. That's gotta count for something. And Tony DiMera’s gone. And that nightmare we've been living is just about over -- for real this time, forever.

Marlena: Roman, thank you for being here.

Roman: Well, I didn't have much choice. You know better than that. I wanted to be there. I would never leave you, Doc.

Marlena: I know that. I know that. There was a time when I thought we were never getting off that island, and then out of the castle. If I'd known we were going home, I never...

Roman: We would have never made love.

Marlena: No. I never would have done that. I love John so much. And I love you, too.

Roman: I know how you feel. I know exactly how you feel because I feel the same way. I mean, my God, we were together day and night for months and months and months -- chained together, sleeping in the same bed, seeing only Tony and his minions. I mean, I hate the idea of even being separated from you for a little bit. But at the same time...

Marlena: You wanna get back home.

Roman: Exactly.

Marlena: Roman, what are we going to do?

Man on P.A.: Welcome to Salem.

Marlena: Oh, yes.

Man on P.A.: Don't get too excited, folks, there might be a little delay with deplaning. We might have some explaining to do about your lack of appropriate identification and passports.

Jack: Wait a minute. No, he's gotta be kidding. They can't keep us here. They're not gonna keep me here. I've gotta get outta here.

Roman: Look, we are sure not gonna keep you here. As a matter of fact, Cassie is exhausted. So can you drop her by the pub on your way?

Jack: Sure. Sure, sure. Cassie?

Roman: All right. Sweetheart, do me a favor. Try your best to explain to pop what happened, okay? And I'll get there as soon as I can.

Cassie: Okay, daddy.

Marlena: Be careful.

Cassie: See you soon.

Marlena: Yes. Good luck.

Jack: You, too, Marlena.

Marlena: Do you think they'll just let them walk off the plane?

Roman: Well, I'll deal with immigration. And, Doc, I guess, uh, that gives us a few more minutes to prepare. And then we head back to our real lives. Are you ready?

[Cellular phone rings]

John: Sorry.

John: John Black. Ah, damn. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks anyway. Tower.

Kate: Did they hear anything? Is it the Titan jet?

John: No, sorry.

Kate: Damn. That means they're gone, and there's nothing we can do to stop them now. We just have to hope that Shawn’s stupidity doesn't get them killed.

John: Come on, you gotta believe they know what they're doing. Now, they've got a plan -- a very solid plan.

Kate: That's your plan.

John: And they're smart.

Kate: Philip is in a combat situation. How can we expect our sons to compete with a war?

John: We're not gonna help 'em here. Let's go on home. I'll be able to track 'em down. We can call the I.S.A. They'll put out what amounts to an A.P.B. on that Titan jet.

[Crowd murmurs]

Kate: John, are you all right? John, talk to me.

Nancy: Hello? Explain yourself before I call my husband. He used to be the chief of staff of University Hospital, and he still has a lot of clout.

Nicole: Ma'am, ma'am. [Coughs] I wasn't switching anything. I was just replacing Dr. Weiss's labels.

Nancy: Replacing them? Why?

Nicole: They're the wrong color.

Nancy: Oh, well, why didn't you say so? My husband Craig -- he always color-codes his surgeries, too.

Nicole: Is your husband Dr. Craig Wesley?

Nancy: Yes, the one and only.

Nicole: Oh! He is my hero. He gave the most inspiring speech to my nurses' class at graduation. [Thinking] Okay, enough. Goodbye, Nancy.

Nancy: That's wonderful. Here you go. Please take good care of my daughter tomorrow.

Nicole: Oh, we will.

Nancy: Thank you.

Nicole: Don't thank me yet, Nancy. Poor Chloe’s surgery is gonna be such a nightmare.

Bo: A few more minutes are not gonna make a difference. If we stop, plan this thing out before we jump in -- that is what could save Georgia’s life.

Billie: This isn't about a plan. This is about Hope. It's always about Hope.

Bo: Nice. And she says it's always about you -- that I have this knee-jerk reaction to protec-- you know what? Bottom line -- Hope and I almost broke up. I can't break any more promises to her. She's my life -- her and the kids.

Billie: I need to know you're with me on this, Bo. Or I can't do it.

Jennifer: Sweetie, your parents... oh, sweetie, she fell asleep so quickly. We should really go.

Abby: Yeah.

Jennifer: Sweetie, are you okay?

Abby: Mom, I just can't believe they didn't tell Chelsea about her parents.

Jennifer: Well, I just -- I think they're waiting till she's a little bit stronger.

Abby: No matter when she hears it, it'll never be better. She'll never see her mom and dad again -- except their bodies at the funeral. We never even got that with dad. Don't you think that's why it's been so hard for it to seem real? He's not ever coming back, is he?

Jennifer: I don't know, sweetie. There are so many times when I wanted to believe that. But he's not. He's gone.

Jack: No DiMeras in sight. All right.

Jack: Mickey?

Mickey: Jen's not here, Jack, she's -- Jack?! Oh, my God, Jack! I-it's you!

Jack: I'm here. I'm here, alive and in the flesh. Oh, come on, give me a hug.

Mickey: Where the hell have you been for so long? We didn't --

Jack: I know, let me tell ya. Long story short, I was held hostage by Tony DiMera. But now he's dead and gone, and I've risen again, thank God. But any-- wait a minute, you said Jennifer’s not here.

Mickey: No.

Jack: So, what's -- I was ready to see my wife and my kids. I got two kids now -- two kids. A boy and a girl -- perfect set. A little boy and a little -- what's wrong?

Mickey: Jack, um, I'm afraid there was an accident.

Jack: An accident? With Jennifer?

Mickey: No, no, no, no. It's Abigail. But she's gonna be all right. And Jennifer is with her at the hospital now. And Maggie went over there to be with her.

Jack: I've gotta go.

Mickey: Wait, wait, wait. She left her cell phone. Here, take this to her. Here, come on. Here, wait. Take my keys. There. Good. Drive carefully.

Jack: Sure, thanks, Mickey.

Mickey: I -- what -- oh, jeez.

Roman: Hey.

Marlena: We have been waiting so long to get home. What if it's not as we imagined?

Roman: It sounds to me like you've got a big case of the jitters. And I'll tell you what, I am just the guy to fix that up. 'Cause I figure as long as we are gonna be on this plane -- we gotta wait a little while, we might as well enjoy ourselves. All right. Here we go. To us. To going home.

Marlena: To our families.

Roman: You go home to yours, I go home to mine. Wow, we haven't been separated in... how long has it been?

Man: All right. You have been cleared to leave the plane.

Roman: All right, thank you so much.

Man: My pleasure.

Roman: Appreciate it.

Marlena: We're home.

Roman: Wow. You ready?

Marlena: I'm ready.

Roman: Let's go.

Kate: How do you feel now?

John: Better, thanks.

Kate: I think we should go home.

John: There's something I want to ask you first.

Kate: I think it can wait.

John: No. No, all of a sudden, I'm in a really big hurry to do this.

Woman: Thanks. I'll take those.

Nicole: Wait a minute, I--

Woman: Hospital policy. The anesthesiologist needs all the records. You need a refresher course in procedures.

Nicole: Should I? Why the hell not? I'm desperate. And he's the only one who'll know what to do here.

Bo: We're in different situations here, Billie. You're on your own, I'm not.

Billie: [Scoffs] Thanks for reminding me.

Bo: Well, it's a fact. I'm not free to go running off like this anymore. I've got a wife to consider, and two boys who need me. You gotta figure a way for me to do this from the sidelines.

Billie: The sidelines?

Bo: Yeah. You be the one out there actually looking for her --

Billie: You'll be at home holding Hope's hand so that she doesn't get jealous, or angry, or whatever the hell she is.

Bo: She's got reason to be jeal-- you and I created a child together. That's a difficult thing for a wife to deal with.

Billie: A moment of silence for poor Hope's suffering.

Bo: Oh, cut it out.

Billie: No, I'm serious. Come on! If the roles were reversed -- you and I were married, and you had a son -- Zack -- from a previous marriage with Hope and he was missing, I would totally understand your need to search for him. In fact, I would be right by your side the whole time -- out of love for my husband and any child who might be in danger. Turn the car around.

Bo: Hold on.

Billie: Turn the car around! I'll drop you off at home, I'll get my own car and head to Ogden by myself. Who needs you?

Bo: Good question. Georgia does. Our daughter needs me.

Nicole: You want me to pretend to be a nurse?

Sami: Unless you want Chloe to have the operation that restores her former beauty and sends her back into Brady’s arms and bed -- permanently.

Nicole: People need to be there for you when you need them. I can't figure this out on my own, especially not with Nancy lurking around.

Nancy: I am just in agony waiting for my daughter's surgery to be over.

Woman: I can imagine. Dr. Weiss is the best. She's in good hands.

Nancy: He's a genius surgeon. I mean, I know that. But he's still human. What if his hand should just slip the tiniest little bit? I mean, she's already had complications with previous surgeries, and -- and I understand that that makes it riskier. And this is a lengthy operation. What -- what if he gets tired? I want my baby to have the life that she wants with the man that she loves. But if she is scarred for life, she'll never be happy, because she's never going to let her true love know she's alive.

Nicole: [Thinking] This isn't the time to be squeamish. I've got to make sure that Chloe never wants Brady to see her again. It's the only way he'll ever be all mine.

Billie: There's the address, right there.

Bo: Hold on, hold on. I got a bad feeling about this.

Billie: Why?

Bo: Why? We just happened to have the address delivered to us, it's in the middle of the night in the middle of no place -- kind of does feel like a trap.

Maggie: Ha ha. Thank you so much for all your help. We'll save you a piece of cake.

Mary: That looks like Alice Horton’s recipe.

Maggie: Mm-hmm, it is.

Mary: Yum.

Maggie: Mmm.

Jack: Maggie, Maggie.

Maggie: Jack?!

Jack: Yeah.

Maggie: Oh, Jack! Oh, my God! I don't believe it.

Jack: I don't believe it, either, Maggie. I don't believe it.

Maggie: Oh, how? How? Oh, oh.

Jack: I'll sum it up in two words -- Tony DiMera.

Maggie: Oh, say no more. Look, you can explain later. Right now, your daughter's about to get the best birthday present ever.

Jack: Maggie, is she okay? Abigail -- is she okay?

Maggie: Oh, oh, oh, she's going to be better than okay now that she sees her dad.

Jack: Oh, gosh.

Maggie: Oh, look, here. Do me a favor -- do the honors. Yes.

Jack: Thank you. Tha--

Maggie: Here.

Jack: Thank you.

Maggie: Okay. I can't believe it.

Abby: I always felt like daddy was somewhere out there waiting for us to help him, and we didn't know what to do or where to look. I don't feel that anymore. I guess it's because I know where he is -- in heaven. He's at peace, and I can talk to him. He can hear us, mom, right?

Jennifer: Yeah. I don't doubt that he can hear us.

Abby: I don't want to give up on him, mom. I just want to be able to tell him goodbye.

Jennifer: I know. Listen, why don't -- why don't we just say a prayer, okay? Dear Lord, we just thank you for all the blessings that you have given us, and I thank you that you watched over Abby tonight. And I pray, Lord, that you will heal her and you will help Chelsea through this very difficult time, and I also thank you that Chelsea’s parents are home with you now, God. But right now, especially, we want to thank you for Jack. He was the best father, and he was the best husband that anyone could have ever asked for, and we just thank you for the time that we had with him, and we know -- we know that he can see us now, and we just want him to know that we love him and that we will always love him.

Marlena: Oh, Roman. Roman. We're home.

Roman: We are home.

Marlena: Ha ha ha ha.

Roman: Now we just got to find John and Kate and give them one hell of a surprise.

Kate: You're so serious.

John: Yeah, real serious.

Kate: I still think we should go home.

John: Yeah. Kate... normally I really love the fact that you're very determined to have things go your own way, but right now, you're making it very tough for me to propose to you.

Roman: All right, tell you what -- let's grab a cab, head into the city.

Marlena: Let's think it through, okay? I'm worried about John's health. He's been through so much. I don't want to walk in and say, "hi, honey, I'm home." I don't want to spring that on him.

Roman: [Sighs] Good point. Kate goes into faint easily, too. Uh, tell you what -- we'll talk about how to break the news in the cab.

Marlena: Okay -- oh, wait, wait, wait. If memory serves me, cabbies like to get paid. Me -- I got nothing. You?

Roman: Oh, man.

Kate: Propose?

John: Yeah. Now he's got her attention.

Kate: Propose what?

John: Now, what... the hell does a man usually propose to the woman that he loves?

Kate: Oh, God.

John: Here I thought that I was going to take you up on top of some mountain. You know, there'd be... moonlight and... the sound of the breeze rustling through the pine trees. But it looks like we're going to have to settle for fluorescent lighting in an airport and the sound of Learjet’s taking off in the background, because I cannot wait to do this any longer.

Kate: Oh.

John: Kate Roberts Brady...

Kate: No. We can’t.

John: Yeah, we can, 'cause this is a miracle. It's a miracle that we found love again after all the hell we've been through. Now, let me tell you something -- I would not have made it halfway up that mountain if you weren't by my side, so I don't care what life has got in store for me. I want you there -- and don't you interrupt me one more time, okay?

Kate: Yes, sir.

John: Kate Roberts Brady... would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?

Kate: Yes. Oh, yes.

John: Yes.

Kate: Ha ha ha ha.

Marlena: Oh, looky there -- the first thing we see when we get home is a couple so much in love, they've got to kiss in the middle of the airport. I love that.

Roman: Ha ha. Yeah.

Marlena: It's romantic. It's also convenient... because they may just give us a lift home.

Nicole: I have to make sure Chloe never wants Brady to see her again. Oops.

Chloe: Brady, what is it? Oh, my God!

Jennifer: Oh, my gosh. It can't be.

Kate: I know my future is with you. We're going be happy.

Roman: Oh, my God. I don't believe it.
