Nicole: Ooh. Are you ready for scary movie night? Brady, look. I thought I'd start our monster marathon off with "Frankenstein." Then we can bite our way through "Dracula." Ha ha. Get it? And then if we're not too tired, we can wrap things up with "The Mummy." Mwah-ha-ha. Brady.

[Snaps fingers] You haven't heard a word I said.

Brady: Nicole, I'm sorry. Father Antonio just sent me an e-mail.

Nicole: Oh. Father Antonio -- why -- why is he e-mailing you?

Brady: You will never believe who's having reconstructive surgery in a clinic just outside of town.

Nancy: Chloe? The surgery's over, sweetheart. Now you can finally start putting your life back together.

Chloe: [Hoarsely] Brady.

Nancy: Shh. Honey, the doctors don't want you to talk too much, but yes. Soon you're going to be able to tell Brady that you're alive. Craig's been calling just to see how you're doing, and I think I'll go tell him the good news. I'll be right back, sweetheart. I love you.

Nancy: Dr. Weiss?

Dr. Weiss: Ah, Mrs. Wesley.

Nancy: I am so relieved that the surgery's over.

Dr. Weiss: Mrs. Wesley, your daughter came out of surgery just fine, but I must caution you, she's not out of the woods yet.

Chloe: It won't be much longer now.

Mimi: What in

Rex: Mimi. Hey, come on, it's late. What are you doing? Were you talking to our baby again?

Shawn-d: You do love me, right? You still want to be with me? You haven't changed your mind about us?

Belle: No.

Shawn-d: Then you have to e-mail him. You have to tell him that the marriage is a mistake and that it's over.

Jan: [Thinking] Do it, and there's going to be hell to pay, starting with your best friend Mimi. If I lose the love of my life, Measles loses the love of hers.

Shawn-d: Belle.

Belle: I'm sorry. I can’t.

Shawn-d: No -- what do you mean, you can't? You have to.

Belle: It would break Philip’s heart. I'm just not willing to do that.

Lucas: Aha! Found it! It was in the back of my closet.

Will: What's that?

Lucas: It's my shoe-shining kit. I am going to teach you the fine art of shoe polishing.

Will: Put the polish on and let it dry, right?

Lucas: Oh, now, boy, I went to military school, remember?

Will: Yeah.

Lucas: I know all the tricks of the trade. Here -- when we're finished with these shoes, you're going to be able to see your reflection in them.

Will: Great.

Lucas: Yeah.

Will: I want to look my best for mom on her big day.

Lucas: Here, take that. You know, it's my big day, too, bud.

Will: Yeah, but you're just the groom. I'm the best man.

Lucas: Yeah, you are the best man, aren't you? Even if you got dirty old scuffy shoes. Look at these things. Man.

Will: Thanks, dad.

Lucas: Ahem.

Will: I-I still can't believe that this wedding is actually going to happen.

Lucas: Me neither. I've had my doubts, too. Just don't tell your mom I said that, all right?

Will: All right.

Lucas: We've had a lot of obstacles put in our way, but when we leave that church, we're going to be Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Roberts

and son -- fuhgeddaboutit.

Will: Ha ha.

Lucas: Fuhgeddaboutit.

Will: Are you sure there isn't still one obstacle?

Lucas: What's that?

Will: Grandma Kate.

Kate: Eugenia, come on. I need to know how our plan's working. I need to know the details. Oh, heck.

[Cellular phone rings]

Eugenia: Hello?

Kate: Hello. Eugenia, I am going crazy. Is everything okay?

Eugenia: It's going exactly as planned.

Kate: Hmm.

Sami: Ahem.

Eugenia: When Sami wakes up, she's going to totally freak.

Kate: Well, let's hope she doesn't wake up too soon, or we'll have to hurry along our plans.

Eugenia: Oh, phase two. Okay, let's go over that one more time.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives.

Kate: No. No, we are not home free, Eugenia. We have a lot left to do, because if we want to make sure that Sami and Lucas are broken up for good, the next step is going to take a lot of delicate maneuvering.

Eugenia: The, uh, next step being Lucas.

Kate: Yes. We have to get Lucas over to that hotel so he can find his fiancée with Brandon.

Eugenia: Mm. It's quite a show, believe me.

Kate: Yeah. I just hate the fact that Lucas has to be hurt, too.

Eugenia: Yeah, Kate, but you're thinking long-term.

Kate: Yes, exactly. It's better that he's a little unhappy now than spending a lifetime of misery with Sami.

Eugenia: Okay, so how are we going to do this? I mean, if you tell Lucas where Sami is, he's going to know that you set it up.

Kate: No, no, no, don't worry. I've set the groundwork.

Eugenia: By pretending that you called a private investigator.

Kate: Yes, that's right. Now we just have to pray that Lucas takes the bait.

Lucas: Look, I really don't want you to worry about grandma Kate, okay? I talked to her, and she's cool. She's cool with me marrying your mom. She has no problem with it. But what you do is start with big circles and then do smaller ones. Yeah, like that.

Will: Okay. Dad, um... what made her change her mind?

Lucas: Grandma Kate? I don't know. I'm not really sure. I am a big boy, all right? If I fall in love, if -- if I'm happy, if -- if I'm -- if I'm hurt, those are all my choices, mom.

Kate: Yeah, well, I've, um, finally decided that Sami is the right choice. Do you want to know why I've changed my mind about her?

Lucas: Please, tell me.

Kate: You're not going to like it.

Lucas: Why? What'd you do this time?

Kate: I have a little confession to make. I, um... I hired a private investigator to follow her.

Lucas: You what?

Kate: Yes, I know. I know it was the wrong thing to do, especially to a future daughter-in-law.

Lucas: Well, so why did you do it?

Kate: I did it because I was afraid that she was going to hurt you, and now I regret that I did it. I I hope you forgive me. In fact, I wish I didn't even have to tell you about it.

Lucas: Well, then, why are you telling me, huh? Why? Does the private investigator have something on Sami? Did he dig up some dirt? Fine, give it to me. What has he got?

Kate: Well, that's just the thing. He didn't find anything.

Lucas: He didn’t.

Kate: No, as much as I hate to -- I hate to admit it, Sami hasn't done a thing. She loves you, and she wants to marry you, only you.

Lucas: See that? See that? I've been telling you that all along.

Kate: Yeah, I know. That's why I've decided that Sami is -- is the right choice, because as long as she loves you and she makes you happy, I am 100% behind this marriage.

Lucas: I think that, uh, grandma Kate realized that your mom and I belong together, you know? And even she can't stop true love. You can't fight that. I know your mom and I haven't been the perfect parents, but... we're going to do better. At least we're going to try, okay? I promise you.

Will: I love you both a lot, dad. All I ever wanted was for us to be a family.

Lucas: We will be. I guarantee you, all right? I love your mom. We love each other -- a lot. In the past, we used to hurt each other, and you used to get caught in the cross fire, and I'm really sorry about that, buddy. No more, all right? Those days are long gone.

Eugenia: Kate, our luck continues, 'cause Sami has definitely taken the bait.

Sami: Oh, my God. What are you doing here? We're supposed to be getting married tomorrow.

[Applause] What a beautiful day!

Brady: Do you remember when we contributed to Father Antonio’s giving tree?

Nicole: Yeah, at Christmas.

Brady: Exactly.

Nicole: Yeah, we sponsored a needy family in Chloe’s memory.

Brady: Mm-hmm. Well, the youngest daughter of that family was in a severe car accident.

Nicole: Oh, no. The one who liked to sing -- Clara, right?

Brady: Clara, exactly. She, um... her face is really badly scarred. She needs reconstructive surgery.

Nicole: Oh, my God.

Brady: Father Antonio’s a little worried because the doctors are first-rate and all, but the family doesn't have health insurance, and he doesn't know how they're going to pay for the surgery.

Nicole: What's that?

Brady: This is a tape of Clara singing.

Nicole: Where'd you get it?

Brady: Her mother gave it to me on that same day. She mentioned to her mom that I worked at titan's music division.

Nicole: Well, have you listened to it?

Brady: Yeah, I have, and, um, I don't know, I-I think she's got something. You know, she's still very young. She's got a lot of potential, but, um, I'm sure one day she'll grow up and -- and have the voice of -- of an angel, you know, someone that can melt your heart when she sings.

Nicole: Like Chloe.

Brady: You know, Chloe, I don't know how I waited so long to tell you that I love you.

Chloe: I love you, too.

Nancy: Dr. Weiss, you said the surgery went fine.

Dr. Weiss: It did.

Nancy: Th-then I don't understand. What happened?

Dr. Weiss: I'm afraid that there could be complications.

Nancy: Complications? What's happened to my daughter?

Mimi: [Gasps]

Rex: Won't be long now, Meems. Can you believe we're actually going to be parents?

Mimi: [Gasps] Oh, my God. Oh, my God, I'm going to have a baby.

Rex: Hey, hey, sweetheart, what is it?

Mimi: I just, um, I just never thought that -- that --

Rex: That you could be someone's mother? Come on, Meems, it's not like we haven't talked about it before.

Mimi: I know, but --

Rex: Mimi, you knew that I always wanted to have a baby with you. I just wanted the timing to be right, and now it is. Okay? I'm going to jump in the shower. Do you care to join me? I-I mean, if you feel up to it.

Mimi: No, no, you go ahead. I'll be in in a minute.

Rex: All right.

Mimi: Oh. Oh. Oh, dear God. Thank you. Thank you so much for giving me another chance to have a baby with Rex.

Jan's voice: Another chance? Why should you get another chance? You terminated your first pregnancy and lied to Rex about it.

Mimi: You heard Rex. He wasn't ready to have a baby then.

Jan's voice: That's your excuse? Rex had a right to know. Instead, you destroyed something precious -- something that was a part of him, something you'll never have again.

Mimi: No. No! No, I won't lose my baby. I won't! No. No! I won't lose my baby! I won't! I won't!

Rex: Meems, Meems, Meems. Wake up, wake up. You were -- you were dreaming.

Mimi: My baby! Where's my baby?!

Shawn-d: What are you saying?

Belle: I can't e-mail him that our marriage is over. It would kill him.

Jan: Atta girl, Belle. Your mom taught you well. Honor those wedding vows no matter what.

Shawn-d: Are you really willing to live a lie? You can't just let Philip go on believing that things are okay. It's going to end up hurting him worse.

Belle: Don't you think I know that? This isn't easy.

Shawn-d: Of course it's not easy, but you cannot stay married to someone that you don't love.

Belle: You're wrong. I do love Philip.

Shawn-d: You do not. You need to ask for an annulment.

Belle: I am not going to ask for an annulment.

Shawn-d: Why not?

Belle: Not now, not ever.

[Telephone rings]

Lucas: Hello.

Kate: Hi, sweetie.

Lucas: Hello, mom.

Kate: Look, I just wanted to call you and make sure you're still not angry at me for that private eye thing.

Lucas: Well, I'm not too happy about it, but I understand why you did it. You were trying to protect me.

Kate: Yeah. But the thing is it really was totally unnecessary, because for the first time in her life, Sami was telling the truth. She loves you.

Lucas: Yeah, which I never doubted. So, uh... do we have your blessing?

Kate: Yes. You and Sami have my blessing.

Lucas: Thank you.

Kate: I love you very much, Lucas.

Lucas: I love you, too.

Kate: So have you seen Sami tonight?

Lucas: Uh, no. Will and I are kind of having our own private little bachelor party, aren't we, bud?

Will: Yeah. Ha ha.

Kate: How sweet.

Lucas: Yeah, she said that she was going to stay in tonight, get ready for tomorrow.

Kate: Oh, yeah. Well, I can see her now. She probably, um, has the music blaring, and she's in a bubble bath enjoying her final night as a single woman.

Lucas: Yeah, probably. You know Sami. Always blasting that music. Although...

Kate: What?

Lucas: I'm looking out my -- my window, and her apartment is dark. I don't think she's home right now.

Sami: What time is it? Oh, my God, I -- what am I doing in bed with Lucas?

Sami: Wait a second. What -- what happened? Did we -- did we already get married?

Sami: Oh, did I have too much to drink at the reception?

Sami: What is wrong with me? Why do I feel so weird? I guess it doesn't matter, 'cause I'm finally married to the man that I love.

Brandon: I love you, Samantha.

Sami: Since when does Lucas call me Samantha?

Eugenia: This just gets better and better.

Brady: Nicole, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bring up Chloe again.

Nicole: It's -- it's all right, Brady. It's all right.

Brady: Thank you for being so understanding.

[Cellular phone rings]

Brady: Excuse me.

Brady: Amah, I'm coming, I'm coming. Yes. Hello. Marie, hi. Sure, yeah, you can put the call through. I got to take this.

Nicole: Yeah.

Brady: Alex. Hey, bud. Yeah, what's going on?

Nicole: Damn you, Chloe Lane. Who would have thought you'd be harder to deal with dead than alive? No matter what I do, you keep coming between Brady and me. Why can't you stop haunting him and just stay dead?

Rex: Mimi, honey, you were just having a bad dream.

Mimi: A dream?

Rex: Yeah, and -- and you were talking in your sleep. You said "I can't lose my baby."

Mimi: That's -- that's -- that's weird. Uh... it must have had something to do with --

Rex: Shh, Mimi, it was just a dream, okay? You're sick and -- God, look at -- I mean, you have a fever, and it -- it probably had something to do with that doll Jan gave me.

Mimi: I-I guess you're right.

Rex: I don't get it. You're awfully warm. I'll be right back.

Mimi: Oh. It was so real. I could feel the baby moving inside me.

Rex: Mimi. Hey, come on. I know -- I know you feel lousy, but, all right, look, you're only going to get better. You'll get better.

Shawn-d: Please don't tell me you're going to stay in this marriage just because you don't want to hurt Philip’s feelings.

Belle: You don't understand.

Shawn-d: If you want to give up on our dream of having a life together --

Belle: This is about a lot more than you and me, Shawn.

Jan: Listen to her, Shawn.

Belle: Philip is the most unselfish person I've ever met. He's always been there for me

when I've needed him. He's always put my needs ahead of his own.

Shawn-d: No, he took advantage of you.

Belle: No. It's the other way around. I took advantage of him.

Shawn-d: No. No. You -- you're not even being serious right now.

Belle: I used him to get over you, and somewhere along the line, I fell in love with him.

Shawn-d: No. No, you don't mean that.

Belle: Yes, I do. It's not the kind of love that you and I have, but I don't want to see anything happen to him. Philip shouldn't have to pay for our mistakes. I don't know what to do.

Jan: What you need to do is stay married to Philip.

Shawn-d: I know this is tough. I wish we could have told him how we felt about each other before he left. But you know you can't go on living a lie. Nothing has changed. I know you don't want to do it this way, but you still have to do it.

Belle: I need some time to think about it.

Shawn-d: Belle --

Belle: I'm sorry. I'm just too upset. I can't make a decision right now.

Shawn-d: Hey --

Belle: No, it's -- I need to be alone.

Shawn-d: Belle.

Lucas: Look, maybe she's out having a drink.

Kate: Well, why would she do that? Why would she go out alone the night before her wedding?

Lucas: She's probably out with a friend or something.

Kate: I wasn't aware she had any friends, Lucas.

Lucas: Let's not go there, all right? Maybe I should just go check up on her.

Kate: No. No, you can't do that. It's bad luck for a groom to see his -- his wife before the wedding.

Lucas: She's not going to be in her dress.

Kate: Yeah, well, I know that. It's still bad luck, Lucas.

Lucas: All right, fine, fine. You win. I'll have Will do it. Will, do me a favor. Go check up on your mom, will you?

Will: Now?

Lucas: Yeah, right now.

Kate: Lucas, no.

Lucas: Will, Will, wait a second. What?

Kate: Honey, why don't you just let it go, all right? I'm sure Sami isn't up to her old tricks. You both love each other. You're going to be married. She probably went to bed early to get, you know, a-a good night of beauty sleep.

Lucas: Well, not that she needs it, but you're probably right.

Kate: Uh, look, sweetie, I have a phone call I have to take.

Lucas: Oh, fine, take it, take it.

Kate: Okay. I'll talk to you tomorrow?

Lucas: Okay. Thanks, mom.

Kate: Eugenia, hi. I was -- I'm sorry. Are you still there?

Eugenia: Still here. What's happening?

Kate: I just got off the phone with Lucas.

Eugenia: Did you point him in this direction?

Kate: No. No, I have to be careful. I can't pressure him.

Eugenia: Then how is he ever going to catch Sami in bed with Brandon?

Kate: Look, would you just calm down? I didn't come this far with this plan to let it fail.

Will: Should I go check on mom now?

Lucas: No, no, no. Never mind that. I'm sure grandma Kate was right. Your mom's probably in bed for the night.

Brandon: Samantha?

Sami: Oh. Oh, God. What have I -- what have I done? I couldn’t. I wouldn’t. Oh, but did I? Did Brandon and I have sex? Oh, my God.

Sami: Okay, think. Think, Sami, think. You've got to figure this out. Okay, I was dreaming that -- that the wedding was over and that I was -- I was in bed with Lucas. Oh, God. Oh, God, did I get drunk and marry Brandon instead? Oh. I've got to figure this out.

Brandon: Come back to bed, Samantha.

Nicole: Damn. Dealing with the ghost of Chloe Lane has cost me a lot of money. But it is for a good cause, and if it gets her out of Brady’s life... it'll be worth every penny. And besides, it is Victor's money, and I am using it to take good care of his grandson, and let's just hope this puts Chloe Lane to rest... forever.

Nancy: So... even after all this... you're telling me that my daughter may still be scarred.

Dr. Weiss: Mrs. Wesley, we talked prior to surgery. You and Chloe were informed of the risks.

Nancy: Dr. Weiss, that was lawyer talk, for God's sakes.

Dr. Weiss: No, that was me being honest.

Nancy: I don't know what this is going to do to Chloe. She was just -- she was just starting to feel optimistic and beginning to be... happy about her life again.

Dr. Weiss: Mrs. Wesley, I've seen many cases far worse than Chloe’s, and this may sound strange coming from a reconstructive surgeon, but I think there's too much emphasis placed on physical beauty. Even with scar tissue, there is no reason that your daughter can't resume her life the way it was before her accident.

Jan's voice: Ha ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Mimi: Why are you doing this to me?

Shawn-d: Why are you here? I don't even want to talk to you.

Jan: Tough. I've had it with the way you've been treating me.

Shawn-d: We're not having this conversation.

Jan: Oh, yes, we are. How can you keep pledging your undying love to a woman that wants nothing to do with you?

Shawn-d: Belle loves me.

Jan: Are you deaf and blind? She just told you that she loves Philip and that she has no plans to leave him. It's pathetic that you can't accept that.

Shawn-d: Well, you know, there are some things that you need to accept, like one, I don't want to be with you, and two, if I'm so pathetic, then why do you care what I do?

Jan: Whether you admit it or not, you love me, not Belle.

Shawn-d: You're delusional.

Jan: You're not going anywhere.

Shawn-d: Okay, what is going on with you? 'Cause something is definitely not right.

Jan: With you. You had a head injury. You don't even remember what happened, but you're engaged to me, and you think that you love some married woman.

Shawn-d: Okay, let's talk about this engagement of ours just for a second here. You'd think that I would remember something like that, right? I keep asking you how it happened, but you never want to answer the question, Jan. Did I go down on one knee? Did it happen in a romantic location? Was I drunk? I don't remember everything, but it's going to come back to me. It will. It's just a matter of time. Eventually, I'm going to figure out what happened to me -- exactly how you got so damn involved in my life.

Jan: You'll be sorry for this. Nobody messes with Jan Spears.

Belle: It feels weird to be here without Philip.

Belle: Make love to me, Philip.

Philip: Are you sure?

Belle: Oh, God, what have I done? How could I have married Philip when I'm still in love with Shawn? What am I going to do?

Brady: Did I hear you mention something about Chloe?

Nicole: I was thinking about Clara and what Father Antonio told you -- that the reconstructive surgery that she needs done is going to be so expensive.

Brady: And how the family doesn't have health insurance. Yeah, I've been thinking about that, too.

Nicole: Well, I decided to make a donation to the clinic in Chloe’s memory -- enough to cover whatever Clara needs done. If -- if that's all right with you.

Brady: Nicole, that's -- that's very generous of you.

Nicole: So it's okay?

Brady: Yes, Nicole, it's more than okay, and it's being done in Chloe’s memory. I'm sure she'd be honored.

Nicole: I'm not doing this for Chloe. Brady, I'm doing this for you, because I love you.

Brady: Ha ha.

Nicole: Mm. Hey, how would you feel about the two of us going out to the clinic right now so I can present them with the check?

Brady: You don't waste any time, do you? Yeah. Yeah, let's go. We might get a chance to see Clara and some of the other patients as well, so let's get out of here.

Nancy: Oh, Chloe, I hope things work out the way you want them, but if they don't, you have to be strong. You can't stop living. Oh, sweetie.

Chloe: Hi, mom.

Nancy: How are you feeling?

Chloe: Okay. But I'll be much better once I see Brady.

Mimi: Stop taunting me.

Jan's voice: You could have been standing over a crib right now singing "rock-a-bye baby," but there's no chance of that now.

Mimi: Ow.

[Doorbell rings]

Belle: Hey.

Shawn-d: I-I came -- I came to apologize. I'm sorry I'm putting so much pressure on you. I don't want to make this any harder than it already is.

Belle: No, I know, I know.

Shawn-d: I know you don't want to hurt Philip. I don't want to hurt him, either, but I also don't want to be apart from you, so if that makes me a selfish bastard --

Belle: No, it's okay.

Shawn-d: No, 'cause I -- I can see that this is killing you.

Belle: This is no one's fault but mine.

Shawn-d: No, it is my fault. Do you still love me?

Belle: Of course I do. I told you, I never stopped loving you.

Lucas: Mom. What's wrong? What are you doing here at this time of night?

Kate: Is Will asleep?

Lucas: Yes, yes, he is. What is the matter? You're scaring me.

Kate: Lucas, I'm so sorry.

Lucas: What?

Kate: Oh, God, I'm so sorry.

Eugenia: Lucas, where the hell are you? If you don't get here soon, you're not going to be able to see your fiancée and her ex doing the horizontal mambo.

Sami: Oh, this has to be a dream. Oh, God, my head hurts. No, Sami, there is no way that -- that you're in bed with Brandon right now. Okay, just -- just close your eyes, go back to sleep and -- and when you wake up, you'll just -- you'll be with Lucas and -- and this whole thing will be like a -- a horrible nightmare.

Nancy: Now, the minute these bandages come off, I want you to go to him. He's going to dump Nicole.

Chloe: I wouldn't be too sure of that.

Belle: I just think that it's too late for us.

Shawn-d: It is never too late. We can still tell Philip that we love each other.

Lucas: You never wanted me to marry Sami. What happened?

Kate: You're right.

Hope: Are you saying you're sorry we came to Europe looking for you?

Bo: You never should have.
