Jan: I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but you wanted to hear what Shawn said, and, you know, it hurts now, but in the end, it's really the best thing. I mean, now you know where things stand with Shawn. It's over. Now you can move on with your life.

Philip: You know, Jan, I don't believe a single word that comes out of your lying mouth. I know Shawn. He's an up-front guy who'd never confide something like that to you, not with the past you two have. He would call Belle and tell her himself. Now, I know you're up to something, Jan, so what is it? We're not leaving until we find out.

Jan: Philip... maybe I should speak to you in private.

Belle: No, Jan. If you have something else to say, then say it. I mean, you came over to my place a while ago to see if I was okay. You never said one word to me about seeing Shawn. Then you leave, and then less than an hour later, you call to tell me that you know where Shawn is?

Philip: Yeah, you know, she's right. You knew when you came over. Why the hell didn't you say anything then?

Jan: Because I chickened out, that's why. I saw how broken-hearted Belle was, and I just didn't want to make her feel any worse. Then when I got home, I realized how wrong I'd been, how unfair it was to leave her just dangling like that.

Philip: Then just tell her the whole truth, okay? That's all she's asking.

Jan: [Sighs] Okay. You want the whole truth? Shawn did confide in me. Do you want to know why he didn't call you to tell you that it was over? Because he doesn't want to have anything else to do with you. He said he never wanted to see or speak to you ever again.

Belle: [Sobs]

Shawn-D: [Groans] Belle. [Groans] Belle?

Victor: Your rhubarb pie has never been better.

Caroline: Well, give yourself a pat on the back. We made it together.

Victor: Did you change the recipe, though? It tasted different somehow.

Caroline: Hmm. Could be the soil here. Or -- ha ha ha. Maybe I've been on this island long enough to perfect it.

Victor: Well, God knows, we've got nothing but time.

Caroline: Yeah.

Victor: Which, in a way, is good. I mean, I don't have to worry about the day-to-day operations at titan, and I get to be with you.

Caroline: Victor... you wouldn't want to --

Victor: Stay here forever? No, of course not. You know how concerned I am about my family.

Caroline: Yes. Here we are, relaxing in the tropics, and our -- our families are in deep mourning for the people they think they've lost. Bo will be strong for the boys.

Victor: I wish I could be there for Brady. I know Bo is suspicious of Nicole. It's only a matter of time before that slut of a wife of mine puts a move on my grandson.

Nicole: Brady... I'm sorry I --

Brady: No, no, listen. I'm -- I'm the one who's sorry. I realize that you're -- you're just trying to help me out.

Nicole: No hard feelings?

Brady: No, of course not.

Nicole: Good. You know how much our friendship means to me. Oh, Brady... you know how long I've waited for this? I want you to make love to me.

Brady: Uh, Nicole, I'm sorry. I, uh, I-I can't do this.

Roman: You know, I was hoping the fresh air would calm you down.

Marlena: I want to be out there looking for Hope.

Roman: You know, doc, she nearly lost her life out there, you know, trying to get through that force field on her own. Now, obviously, Patrick's the only one who knows how to get through that thing safely, and he won't share that information with us, so it was very smart for Hope to follow after him.

Marlena: What if that's not what happened? What if it turns out that Patrick is working for our host, and he took Hope as a hostage into the jungle? She could be in some very serious danger right now.

Roman: Patrick always made it clear he wanted to go out there alone, so if he is working for the monster who has us exiled on this island, then Hope may actually find out who that is.

Abe: Well, I agree, as long as she realizes her limitations. You know, our host is only human, and eventually, whoever it is is going to make a mistake, so Hope just has to be patient, pick her spots.

Marlena: I don't want to be trapped here. I want some help. And I want our family and friends to know that we are alive.

Bo: Damn it. I should have come in here with him.

Tek: He was just going to grab some files. Nobody could have guessed he was going to kill himself.

John: He broke into a cold sweat when we questioned him about Marlena's corpse. What does that tell you?

Bo: Well, he's a mortician. His job's supposed to end once he buries Marlena. I don't know -- maybe he was scared that he was liable for her missing body, or more likely, he was part of it.

John: You don't kill yourself if there's a way out.

Bo: Tek, call Lexie. Get her over here as soon as possible. I have some questions for her.

Lucas: It's going to be okay, Sami.

Sami: How? That man killed himself because he's guilty. He must have done something illegal with mom's body. Maybe he sold it to science or something.

Lucas: Oh, stop.

Bo: Hey, John, we'll get some answers. We'll go through his records top to bottom. We'll find out what happened to Marlena's body and why.

John: I smell smoke.

Bo: Oh, no. Careful. Careful.

John: Whoa.

Bo: Oh, man. Damn it. Hold on, hold on. Get away, get away, John

Roman: You're right, pard. Our captor is only human, but anybody who can create a replica of Salem in the middle of a desolate tropical island, fake our deaths, and hold us prisoners here is doing a Herculean task. He is no ordinary person.

Abe: Well, even the most powerful, organized people can make mistakes.

Roman: I hear you, partner, but this plan wasn't hatched overnight. Somebody has been planning this a long time, and he must have needed a lot of help.

Abe: The more people involved, the more chances of something going wrong.

Marlena: Think about what Stefano has done to us in the past. He's never won -- never.

Roman: Not in the end.

Marlena: So if we have survived all of that, we can survive this. We can do it. We can get home. We will get home.

Tek: What happened?

Bo: Looks like Milbauer set fire to his files and then came back here and shot himself.

Sami: John, what is it?

John: Well, it appears that Milbauer was burning the files of all the people his funeral home buried within the last year.

Sami: Oh, God.

Lucas: Come on. I'll take you home.

Sami: What? I'm not going anywhere, not until we know what's going on around here.

Tek: I don't know if you want to hear what's going on in my head right now.

John: What's that, Tek?

Tek: I wonder if Marlena's grave was the only one without a-a body, or if this is just part of some ongoing scam or cover-up.

Sami: What?

Tek: Maybe he removed your mother and possibly others from their caskets in order to sell the bodies.

Lucas: Oh, my God.

Lexie: Bo, Tek said get over here right aw-- oh, my God.

Celeste: [Gasps]

Lexie: Mr. Milbauer. What happened?

Bo: First of all, you don't need to worry about him. He's dead. This all started when I found a teddy bear at my house -- one that Sami and Lucas claim was put into Marlena's coffin.

Lucas: I put it there. I put it right in her arms.

Bo: Anyway, I got a court order to exhume Marlena's body, and guess what...

Lexie: The bear was missing.

Bo: Not only that -- Marlena's body was missing.

Lexie: What?

Celeste: [Gasps] Oh, my God.

Bo: So we came over here to question Milbauer. He said he knew nothing, but he was nervous as hell. He excused himself to come in his office and get some files. Moments later, we heard a gunshot. He committed suicide.

Lexie: [Gasps]

Celeste: Oh, my God.

John: He committed suicide, all right, but not before he went to the file room and destroyed all of his records.

Lexie: Why?

John: Maybe you can help us with that why. I'd like to ask you a couple questions.

Lexie: Yeah, of course, John. I'll tell you anything you want to know.

Sami: Celeste, can you help me with something?

Celeste: With what?

Sami: This bear was in the coffin with my mom when – when she was buried, and I thought maybe you could get a reading from it or something.

Marlena: Help me! Help me! I'm alive! Help! Help! Help! Help! Help me! Oh!

Celeste: [Gasps] Oh, my God. Samantha... we were right, darling. Your mother was buried alive.

Sami: [Gasps]

Lucas: Sami.

Jan: I don't mean to be cruel, Belle, but Shawn said that he'd never forgive you for lying about your mom's alibi. He still blames you for Mrs. Horton's death.

Philip: All right, that's enough, Jan. Leave her alone.

Jan: You said to tell everything.

Belle: It's okay, Philip. I want the truth.

Philip: Yeah, well, I still don't know why Shawn would say anything to Jan.

Jan: Why wouldn't he? It's not like I'm after him anymore. I have a wonderful, romantic fiancé, and I'm incredibly happy with him.

Philip: Did you tell Shawn about him?

Jan: Shawn knows all about him.

Philip: Really. Even his name?

Jan: You know I haven't told anyone his name.

Belle: So tell me from the beginning. Exactly what happened?

Jan: [Thinking] Oh, brother. The twit wants me to repeat the entire phoney story. Okay. I think I've already said all of this, but I went for a drive, uh, pulled up at this little coffee shop about 50 miles north of Salem, right? And Shawn was there working on his motorcycle. He was putting air in the tires or whatever. And then he told me that he knew all about what happened to your mother, how he left a message on Mr. Brady's answering machine. That should do it. If only I had this audio-splicing technology when I was growing up. I could have pulled some wicked stunts on my mother.

Shawn-D's voice: Hey, dad, mom, it's me. Sorry I've been out of touch. Anyway, I just wanted to check in, but my cell phone died. I haven't seen the news or picked up a newspaper, but I finally did hear about Marlena's death. Anyhow, I-I just wanted to say I love you both, and give my love to zack.

Jan: Then I asked Shawn about you. That's when he said that he never wanted to see you again. Oh, and I guess there was one more thing.

Belle: What?

Jan: I'm afraid it's not something you're going to want to hear.

Caroline: Worrying about Nicole and Brady isn't going to solve anything. If Nicole makes her move, it doesn't mean that Brady will take the bait, huh? He's a big boy. He has a good head on his shoulders. If he decides he's going to wait for Chloe, there's nothing Nicole can do about it.

Victor: She could kill him.

Caroline: That wouldn't advance her goals, would it?

Victor: You know, the best thing that could happen for Brady is for Chloe to come back to Salem, but as Hope said, the family voted against the concert hall. Now that it's on ice, Nicole can get everything she wants and more. I just wish I could be assured that Brady would make the right decision when it comes to Nicole.

Caroline: Maybe you can be.

Nicole: Maybe you can't kiss me, but I sure as hell can kiss you.

Brady: Nicole, stop it, please.

Nicole: What's wrong?

Brady: I can't be kissing you like you're the woman that I love.

Nicole: Well... I'm not sorry I acted on my feelings for you.

Brady: Just cut it out, okay?

Nicole: No, I won’t. I have feelings for you, Brady. I am not sorry for that kiss.

Brady: You made your feelings quite clear.

Nicole: Brady, Chloe is living her dream, and you're -- you're stuck in this dead-end town dreaming of her. I don't understand how you can hold a torch to someone who'd rather be in -- in some musty opera house than with you.

Brady: I don't expect you to understand, Nicole.

Nicole: Enlighten me. Because where I come from, a man and a woman who truly love each other would move heaven and earth to be together.

Brady: Chloe and I have -- we have a different kind of relationship.

Nicole: Is it working? Wait. Before you answer... I want to know -- you've made all kinds of sacrifices for Chloe, and what has she done for you lately? What kinds of sacrifices has she made for you in your relationship?

Roman: Doc, you are absolutely right. We have got to get off this island. We got to get back to the real Salem. We got to get back to the people we love.

Abe: Yeah. You know, I took early retirement from the Salem P.D. to spend time with my wife and son. I refuse to be held prisoner on this island for the rest of my life. There's got to be a way to get out of this new Salem besides fighting through the force field on the perimeter.

Marlena: Are you thinking about the tunnels of Salem?

Abe: Yeah, I sure am. If Salem has been replicated so precisely and the tunnels in Salem figured in transporting us here, well, there's a good chance there's an underground tunnel that leads out of here.

Marlena: That would make so much sense. How else would the employees of our captor get in and out? Oh, my gosh, you know what? When John and I were on dimera island, Tony admitted to us there was a manmade tunnel that connected one island to the next.

Roman: Yeah, but -- that's assuming that we're on one of stefano's islands.

Tony: You assume correctly.

Lucas: Listen, Sami, don't do this -- not now. Come on, Sami, wake up. Wake up. Come on. Come on. You okay?

Sami: Oh, no. Oh, God, I was right? I was right -- my -- my mom was buried alive?

Lucas: Stop it. Celeste, are you sure? I mean, how can you be so sure?

Celeste: I had a vision of Marlena lying in the coffin, and she was clutching the bear. She was screaming, darling, that she was still alive.

Sami: [Sobs] Lucas, I knew it I knew that my mother was buried alive, and the reason that that lining was torn in the coffin is because she was -- she was clawing her way out.

Lucas: No, Sami, maybe she wasn't buried alive. Maybe it was the funeral attendants. Maybe they ripped it when they were sealing her coffin --

Sami: No.

Lucas: Or whoever took her later.

Sami: No! My mom tore that lining, I know it. Not only was she alive, but she suffocated to death in that coffin, and now her body is missing, and we don't even know what's happened to it. I mean, it could have been defiled.

Lucas: No, no.

Sami: And I know who's responsible.

Bo: Lexie, I'm not accusing you of anything, but when you examined Marlena's body at the prison, you sure she was dead?

Lexie: Of course she was dead. I did the standard medical examination at the prison, later at the hospital, I called her time of death, I documented it on the death certificate --

John: Any chance you could have been wrong?

Lexie: No. No, John, believe me, I know when someone is dead, okay? Wait -- wait a minute. You said that Marlena's corpse was missing. Are you telling me you think she's still alive?

John: Well, you were there --

Sami: She was alive, damn you! She was alive until you killed her!

Bo: Sami, let go!

John: Come on.

Brady: Chloe and I talk. We share everything. She's waiting for me. I don't -- I don't know how much sacrifice you want.

Nicole: So what you're saying is is you're fulfilled by a woman who's nothing more than your pen pal.

Brady: Nicole, it's not like that.

Nicole: You know, I thought I was a prisoner in this house, but what a joke. You're the prisoner. You're -- you're stuck in Salem while la lane flaunts all over Europe enjoying post-performance champagne with every tom, dick, and Placida.

Brady: I don't have to listen to this crap anymore.

Nicole: No, no, you sure don’t. Then why don't you get on the next plane to Vienna?

Brady: Wait a second. How did you know that Chloe is in Vienna? You were eavesdropping, weren't you?

Nicole: Sort of. I was coming out to the pool, and I overheard your conversation. To tell you the truth, I thought I'd be driving you to the airport.

Brady: Well, it didn't work out. The timing is just wrong.

Nicole: What -- the timing was wrong? Brady, when two people love each other, time stands still. I hate to say it --

Brady: Then don’t.

Nicole: You know, if I was the one in Vienna, I would have flipped off the opera company and met you halfway.

Shawn-D: [Groans] Oh, I thought I heard Belle. She sounded so close, like she was in the next room. Maybe it's in my head. Maybe it's Jan messing with me while I'm drunk.

Belle: What else did Shawn tell you?

Shawn-D: Oh, my God. It is Belle.

Belle: Come on, Jan. What else did Shawn tell you?

Jan: I really don't want to upset you more than you already are. You agree with me on that, right, Philip?

Philip: Of course I do, Jan, but if you're holding back some sort of information from Belle, something that directly affects her, she has a right to know. Now, that's assuming, of course, that you're telling the truth, which I can't believe you are.

Belle: And I appreciate you trying to spare my feelings, but I really want to know what Shawn said.

Jan: Okay. It's not just that he's leaving town. He's joining the merchant marine as soon as possible.

Belle: What?

Jan: I'm sorry, Belle, but he has no intention of ever returning to Salem.

Belle: How could he do this to me? I loved him with all my heart.

Jan: I'm sorry, Belle. You really do not deserve this. I feel so bad for you.

Philip: I don't believe you for a minute. Look... this is Jan spears we're talking about. Remember that book "Carrie" by Stephen king? In high school, Jan made her look like a girl scout. How can we believe her?

Jan: Excuse me. I'm still in the room. I can hear you.

Philip: Okay, fine. Come here.

Belle: What's the matter?

Philip: All right, look, earlier, she said that she forgot to tell Shawn his mom died. How do you forget something like that?

Jan: [Thinking] You big, stupid oaf. I am trying to help you get the girl of your dreams, and you keep screwing it up.

Philip: Now, if Shawn knew his mom died, he would have dropped everything and come right home.

Belle: But why would Jan lie?

Philip: Because lying is her middle name. It's like I said, Belle, think about it. Think about how she's treated you in the past. Think about how badly she didn't want you and Shawn to be together. We can't trust her.

Philip: [Groans]

Belle: Thanks for going over the whole story again, Jan, but Philip's right. I mean, it's all so hard to believe. How do I know that you saw Shawn without some sort of proof?

Jan: You want proof? I'll give you proof.

Roman: All right, Tony, tell us what you know. If you're not involved in this plot to keep us prisoners here, then how do you know we're on your father's island?

Tony: Well, I don't know that for a fact, but I think it is a strong possibility. Last night, I was on the terrace. I was looking up at the stars through a telescope, and I discovered that this particular island falls 25 degrees south of the haniz nebula.

Roman: What the hell are you talking about? Come on back down to earth, okay?

Abe: So?

Tony: Well, I think Marlena remembers after my father's death, I discovered several satellite photographs of various islands. One particular island fell 25 degrees south of that very nebula.

Abe: So this island does belong to Stefano.

Tony: I'm afraid not. It belongs to your wife Alexandra.

Abe: That's a damn lie. Are you suggesting that Lexie put us here?

Tony: Oh, absolutely not. After my father's death, per Alexandra’s request, the parcel was sold to a conglomerate.

Roman: Which company was it?

Tony: Sorry, I can't remember, but I do remember, though, my sister was paid a great deal of money for it.

Marlena: Abe, do you know this?

Abe: Well, Lexie and I were estranged at the time.

Marlena: Hmm.

Victor: Don't believe a word dimera's saying. For all we know, your father may still be alive. How do we know Stefano didn't set up a dummy corporation, buy back this island as a final resting place for his enemies?

Tony: I'm afraid we don’t.

Sami: Let me go.

Bo: Sami, knock it off.

Lexie: What the hell is the matter with you? Have you totally lost your mind? I am just as in the dark about this as you are, Sami.

Sami: You're a doctor. You're supposed to know if people are alive or dead.

Lexie: Your mother was dead! I signed the death certificate myself.

Sami: I'll bet you anything she's somehow involved in this scheme with Milbauer.

Bo: Knock it off, Sami.

Sami: I bet you were, what, selling the corpses all along.

Lexie: Sami, why would we do that?

Sami: You wanted revenge against my mother for killing Abe. But she didn't do it, even if no one will believe it. So you drugged her, and then you pretended like she was dead, and then you had her buried alive.

John: That's enough. Let's take it outside.

Sami: Don't take her side. She's the reason your wife is dead!

Lexie: John, you don't believe that, do you?

John: No, of course not.

Sami: Bo, call Mickey Horton right now and have her thrown off the university hospital staff...again. This is not the first time she's lied and tampered with records. But of course the last time, guess who got fired for it. Not her. Me. What are you guys, all idiots? I mean, she's evil. She hated my mother. She hates all of us. And don't you see? It's all making sense.

Lexie: Oh, please, Sami, it makes no sense whatsoever. You had Mr. Milbauer open Marlena's casket at the gravesite, and you saw. We all saw. Marlena was dead! Look, I know you're grieving, but we all are. I lost my husband to Marlena's hands. Marlena murdered our loved ones in cold blood, but are we standing here railing at you, casting blame for the sins of your mother? No.

Sami: How dare you?!

Lexie: No, how dare you?! Marlena confessed to nine killings, Sami. Nine. And you still won't believe she's dead. Yet you see fit to stand here and throw out these unfounded accusations against the rest of us. At some point, you are going to have to face the facts, or so help me God, I will assemble the entire hospital staff, and I will have you committed. You have lost your mind.

Sami: Oh, I get it. You want to get rid of me because I'm on to you. Bo, arrest her! She is the reason that my mother was buried alive!

Lexie: Lucas...

Lucas: Sami, just calm down. All right, you're out of control again.

Sami: God, John, how could you let this happen to my mother? You said that you loved her, and you let her die!

Shawn-D: [Panting] Belle... [Gasping] Belle...

Philip: What's that?

Jan: It's the proof that I saw Shawn. I forgot I had it.

Belle: What is it?

Jan: When I was with Shawn, he asked me to give this to you. He was going to mail it, but figured he'd save money on postage. So he asked me to deliver it instead. I didn't look to see what it was. Honest, Belle, I wouldn't do that.

Philip: What -- isn't that --

Jan: What's that?

Belle: It’s... Shawn's purity ring. Shawn and I decided to wait until we were married to --

Jan: Have sex? That's so sweet.

Philip: Where the hell'd you get that?

Jan: Shawn gave me the box to give to Belle.

Philip: Uh-huh. And how do we know you didn't steal it from him?

Jan: Now why would I decide to steal a little-bitty box when I don't even know what's in it? And even if I did open it, I wouldn't know what the hell it was.

Belle: It's okay, Philip. It's not Jan's fault.

Jan: Yeah.

Philip: Yeah.

Jan: Don't shoot the messenger.

Belle: He finally did it.

Shawn-D: I do love you. I just hope one day you'll understand why I have to do this.

Belle: I hope so.

Shawn-D: I want you to hold on to this, okay? Just keep it safe until I come home.

Belle: No. Please, don't give it back to me.

Shawn-D: Somehow it doesn't seem right if I have to wear it.

Belle: Just put it in your pocket then.

Shawn-D: Are you sure?

Belle: Yeah. Only when you give the ring back to me am I truly going to believe that this relationship is over.

Shawn-D: Come here.

Belle: He said he'd never give up on us as long as he held on to this ring. I guess it really is finally over.

Philip: That bastard.

[Cage rattles]

Philip: What was that, Jan?

Shawn-D: If you're in the house, Belle, I'm here.

Nicole: You find me sexy, don't you?

Brady: [Clears throat] Yes. Yes, I do. I think you are A... beautiful, desirable woman.

Nicole: Then what's the problem?

Brady: There is no problem.

Nicole: Would you like to take a dip?

Brady: Haven't you heard a word I said? Chloe and I are a couple. We are together. As hard as it is to see you parade around here half-naked, I will not cheat on her. That's just not who I am.

Nicole: We'll see about that. !

Philip: All right, what the hell is that noise?

Jan: It's my cat, like I said. She's in heart. I should have got her fixed.

Belle: I guess it really is over between Shawn and me.

Philip: I can't believe he could be so cruel.

Belle: I don't want to believe it, either, but nobody knew about our promise. Not you, not Mimi -- no one.

Philip: Is there anything that I can do at all?

Belle: You can tell me that Jan's lying about seeing Shawn, that somehow she found out about this ring and set the whole lousy thing up.

Philip: Hey, you know, if she is lying, I think I know a way I can prove it.

Jan: I think it's time you took another nap, Mr. Brady. Hey! Hey, what are – [Grunting] Get -- let go of me!

Shawn-D: Aah!

Nicole: Do you have what I want yet? Look, I'm paying you top dollar. How much more time do you need? Produce the evidence on Chloe lane before it's too late.

Tony: I would never underestimate my father. However, the man is dead, and that is a fact, because he died in my arms when I was in Monte Carlo.

Roman: And we're just supposed to take your word for it?

Marlena: Yeah. Stefano is dead like I murdered everybody here.

Abe: Whoever put us on this island is testing our wills, seeing how far they can push us until we lose our minds.

Tony: I agree with you, Abe being trapped on this island is some sort of sick game. And it will be the ultimate test. As in any challenge, there are going to be the losers as well as the winners. Well, at least one. So, dear fellow castaways, the question is, which one of us will be getting off this island alive and home to those that we love?

John: Samantha, you were there when we opened the casket. Marlena was dead. And Celeste and I were together in the morgue when Marlena was on the slab. Celeste, do you remember? When Milbauer came in, I told him I thought that doc was still alive.

Celeste: The scalpel, yes.

Sami: What? What scalpel? What are you talking about?

John: Milbauer proved to us that Marlena was dead by ramming a scalpel into her chest.

Sami: Oh, g-- oh, God... I'm gonna be sick.

John: Obviously Milbauer's a very sick man, but the fact is Marlena was dead.

Sami: Then where is her body, John?

Celeste: I don't like this one bit. Dead people walking.

Lucas: How much more like "the x-files" can you get?

Lexie: If Marlena's body isn't in the casket, where could it be?

John: I think there's some wacko out there who has her corpse, and he's getting his kicks out of the fact that he has stolen the remains of the Salem stalker.

Sami: No. No. No, she's still alive. She's still alive.

Bo: Sami, we will find out what happened to your mom, and when we do, whoever took your mom's body, they'll pay.

“Next on Days Of Our Lives”

Lucas: I love you more than you will ever know. If I leave now, I'm never coming back.

Sami: Fine by me.

Bo: If Marlena's still alive, I believe I know how it happened.

Marlena: What is going on here? Sometimes I think we might have been better off if we'd died.

Patrick: Hope, look out!
