Belle: No message. Shawn finally got in touch with his parents, but not me. He didn't even mention my name when he called them.

Philip: Belle, I'm sorry.

Belle: You knew this was going to happen all along, didn't you? Shawn heard that my Mother was killed, but he didn't even have it in him to call me. Now his mother's dead. He's left town because of me. He doesn't even know.

Philip: I feel horrible that Shawn lost his mother, but it's his own fault that he's not here with you. He's being a selfish bastard. Is there anything that I can do to help you?

Belle: Oh, Philip.

Jan: [Coughs] Shawn! Shawn! Stop it! I cannot breathe!

Shawn-D: Yeah, well, remember the last time I tried to escape, what was that you told me, Jan? Oh, that I should've beaten the hell out of you and ran when I had the chance. So...guess what. I'm taking your advice this time. If I have to hurt you, too bad. So you either give me the keys, or, Jan, so help me God, you will die.

Roman: I'm gonna put a stop to this, Doc.

Marlena: No, Roman, no, no.

Roman: Victor is hitting on my Mom.

Marlena: Oh, you know what? It doesn't look like he's forcing himself on her.

Roman: What are you trying to say? You mean that she's --

Marlena: She's -- she's lonely. She's very lonely. And it's a known fact that she and Victor have a longstanding affection for each other. Is there anything wrong with an innocent kiss?

Roman: Well, it might be innocent on her side, but not his.

Marlena: You don't know that, Roman. Look, they may never see their families again. Is it so wrong to take comfort from each other? I mean, right here in this -- in this new Salem, at the end of the day, we are all we have. Is there anything wrong with not wanting to be alone?

Roman: No. No, it's not.

Marlena: I'm just so glad you're here. That doesn't mean that I miss John any the less. But to have someone for whom I have such strong feelings, the Father of my twins, right here by my side... that is such a comfort to me.

Roman: I feel exactly the same way.

Roman: Hey, what's wrong, Doc?

Marlena: Well, let me think. Everything's wrong. Um... I can't bear the thought of never seeing my family again. I just wish there was some way they could know that we're alive.

Roman: I know.

Sami: So, John, that's -- that's Will's bear.

John: You know where he got it?

Sami: Yeah, Mom gave it to him when he was a baby. How the hell did you get it?

John: I found it at Bo's house. Why?

Sami: What?

John: What's wrong, Sami?

Lucas: Sami brought that bear with her to Marlena's funeral. Will wanted his grandma to have it. I put that bear in the coffin. It was buried with Marlena.

John: Are you sure about that?

Lucas: Marlena got this for Will when he was first born. It was his favorite stuffed animal when he was growing up. He thought it was special because it had two different color eyes. Anyway, he, uh, he wanted his Grandma Marlena to take it to heaven with her. Here you go, Marlena. That's from Will.

Sami: Yes, John, I'm sure. Damn you, you bastard. How could you? How could you do this?

John: Sami, easy, easy, easy, easy.

Jack: Jennifer will get us out. She'll find a way to get us out of here. Come on.

Jennifer: [Out of breath] All right. I gotta find help. I'll just follow the sun. I'll just keep heading west. All right. Oh! Oh, my God. Aah! Oh, no. Oh, no.

Hope: Okay. I'll let you go under one condition.

Patrick: Oh, yeah, what's that?

Hope: I'm going with you.

Patrick: Oh, this sounds familiar. I don't think so, Hope.

Hope: You have a choice to make -- either I go or you stay. What's it going to be?

Patrick: I'm going to try this again. It's best if I go after Jennifer alone.

Hope: And I'll say it again. I go with you, or you stay. Pick one.

Patrick: You don't get it, do you? If I take you into the jungle, you could die. Is that what you want?

Shawn-D: Oh, my God, did I kill her?

Shawn-D: [Groans]

Jan: I cannot believe that you would try to kill me, Shawn, especially since I'm the only woman for you. I'm really starting to lose respect for you.

Shawn-D: I don't want your respect. I don't love you, okay? The only woman I love is Belle.

Jan: Get a clue, Shawn. Belle is finished with you! You were a lousy boyfriend. You left her when she needed you most! It is no wonder that she's moving on with Philip.

Shawn-D: No, no, she's not.

Jan: Yes, she is. Friends can be lovers, too, you know. It happens all the time.

Shawn-D: I am not gonna believe that Belle has given up on me until I hear her say it myself.

Jan: That can be arranged.

Shawn-D: [Groans]

Belle: I don't know what I'd do if you weren't here, Philip. And I've been so awful.

Philip: No, you haven't. Come on.

Belle: I wish there was a way I could repay you for your friendship, your kindness --

Philip: Stop, stop, stop. You don't have to do anything.

Belle: It's not because I have to. I want to.

Patrick: Tell me, Hope, are you ready to die?

Hope: You know who's behind all of this, don't you?

Patrick: I am not talking about bogeymen and villains, Hope. I am talking about the natural dangers of the jungle. We are dealing with treacherous terrain, wild animals, poisonous snakes. If I'm out there looking for Jennifer, I am not gonna have the time to watch over you every minute.

Hope: There you go with all of that macho crap again. What makes you even think you have to look after me? Obviously, you don't know me, Patrick, and then again, something could just as easily happen to you, and then what -- I have to drag you around?

Patrick: All right. I agree. But what if I do let you tag along, and what if something did happen? I wouldn't be able to forgive myself, especially since we already cheated death once in the cargo plane. Hope, you have two sons and a husband to think about. That's why I gotta do this alone.

Hope: What about your family?

Patrick: I have a Mom, a sister, a brother, but no dependents and no special woman in my life. I am not risking my life the same way you are. If you want to see your cousin Jennifer alive, you're gonna have to let me go. Alone.

Hope: I-I need to get some air.

Hope: If I let him go, he could help rescue Jennifer. But what if he's working for whoever's keeping us all captive? I don't know what to do.

Doug: What does your heart tell you to do?

Hope: Daddy? Oh, Daddy! Oh, Daddy, oh, Daddy!

Doug: Oh, oh!

Hope: Oh, Daddy.

Jennifer: Okay. Maybe that's why -- maybe that's why my stomach hurt. I was starving. All right, baby, you know what that means. You're just going to be a sweet, colorful baby now. But I can't go into labor now. Oh, if my water breaks, that's it. All right. Let's start this again. Oh! Oh, God. Oh, God, no. Oh, baby, please, baby, please, don't. Oh, please don't. Just wait -- wait till your daddy and I can get help. Oh, please.

Jack: Jennifer.

Jan: It's nice to come to the front door for a change. The fire escape was getting to be a real pain. Okay, Shawn, you want to hear that Belle's through with you? Your wish is my command.

Belle: Thanks so much for coming here, Philip. [Knock on door]

Philip: Jan?

Jan: Hi, Philip. I'm not bothering you, am I?

Philip: Actually, Belle and I were just hanging out --

Jan: Oh, Belle's here? Hi, Belle. I just happened to be in the neighborhood. I wanted to stop by, check in, make sure that you're okay.

Philip: Yeah, we're doing just fine, so if that's all you need, then we --

Belle: Thanks for stopping by.

Jan: So, um, have you heard anything from Shawn?

Philip: You know, Jan, I don't think that's any of your business.

Belle: It's okay, Philip. Shawn finally called.

Jan: Wow, he did?

Belle: But not me. He called his parents. Bo let me listen to the message.

Jan: Still, you must be so relieved. I mean, he is okay, isn't he?

Belle: Yes.

Jan: So what did he say?

Belle: That's the thing. He didn't say anything. In fact, he didn't even mention my name.

Jan: Oh, my God. I can't believe that. No "give my love to Belle" or "tell Belle I'll see her soon"? Oh, that stinks. I'm so surprised he didn't call you. I mean, your mother just died. What an insensitive jerk, out there on the open road not thinking about anybody but himself. I'm sorry, Belle, that's awful. You must be so over him by now.

Marlena: I wish there was some way to let our loved ones know that we're alive and that I'm not a murderer. Roman?

Roman: Um... Doc, I'm sorry. Um, I'm still thinking about that bear. Are you sure that bear wasn't with you when you woke up on this island?

Marlena: I'm sensitive. Roman, I was hanging on to that bear for dear life. I was terrified.

Roman: Yeah, I know. I understand that.

Marlena: Well, I was buried. I was in a grave, and all of a sudden, I'm here. I'm -- I'm -- I'm here in Salem Place. So wherever that casket is... I guess that's where that little bear would be, too.

Roman: Maybe not. Maybe that bear made it all the way to Salem, and we just have to pray it gets in the right hands, so that someone starts to realize we're not really dead.

John: Sami, stop it! Just calm -- calm down.

Lucas: Get a hold of yourself. That's enough. Now, John, how'd that bear find its way out of Marlena's coffin and into Bo's house?

John: I don't know. Bo thought maybe Hope bought it for Zack.

Sami: You took it, didn't you, because you wanted to make sure that Mom was alone in her grave.

John: Sami, just calm down.

Sami: Give me that. You took it because you wanted to punish her because you -- you wanted revenge because you think she's the killer. I hate you for this. I will never forgive you for this.

Hope: Everyone told me you were alive on the island. But, Daddy... to actually see you, touch you...

Doug: I'm so sorry I couldn't get here sooner. I was working way over on the other side of the island. I just happened to stop in at Maggie's place. Oh, Hope, oh, oh. I was so glad when she said -- when she said that you were here. And I'm sorry that you have to be separated now from your family.

Hope: Daddy, I'm fine. I didn't get here the way you did. But right now it's Jennifer that I'm worried about.

Doug: Yes, what was this about you arriving with Bonnie Lockhart's son Patrick?

Hope: When Jennifer was kidnaped, supposedly, Patrick was the only one who knew how to find her, so he hijacked a cargo plane, said he wanted to go alone, but how could I let him do that? I couldn't trust him with my cousin. And Jennifer needed me, and now, Daddy, I didn't even get a chance to tell Bo, and now he probably thinks that I'm dead.

Doug: Why?

Hope: Because the plane that we were on was shot out of the sky by a missile.

Jennifer: Why did you come running in the way you did before?

Patrick: Oh, I-I heard screams inside. I didn't -- I didn't know you guys were fooling around.

Jennifer: Do you see that? That's exactly what I mean. I mean, if Abby and I were in danger, you would have just saved us right now.

Patrick: You've been through so much today. You lost your grandmother, not to mention nearly losing your baby. It's only natural that you'd believe your guardian angel was here with you.

Jennifer: Are you my guardian angel?

Patrick: Okay.

Jennifer: Oh, my foot is -- oh, oh.

Patrick: [Thinking] Jack's watching over your baby, and I'm going to look out for you. I'm going to save you, Jennifer, and nothing's going to stop me.

Jack: I didn't come this far to lose the woman I love and my unborn child in some
Godforsaken jungle. Whoever's done this is going to pay.

Jennifer: Oh. Okay. Oh. Oh oh, thank you, God. Okay. All right, let's try this. Let's try this... one more time. Oh. Okay. Whew. Oh, my gosh. I don't believe it. Oh. There's finally a way out of here.

Lucas: Sami, come on. Stop it. John would never have disturbed your mother's grave. Why do you think he brought the bear back here? I mean, he's -- he's trying to figure out what happened. He's trying to figure out what's going on so he can prove your mother's innocence.

Sami: He's the one who told the police that she was guilty in the first place.

John: Samantha... this is important. I need you to focus. If this bear was buried with your mom, we need to know how and why it was removed from her casket. Now, are you sure this is the same stuffed animal?

Sami: Yes, John, I'm sure. I mean, it has the same hole under his arm and -- and -- and his leg's been stitched up, all those times I had to...

Lucas: You sewed it up, Sami?

Sami: Yeah. It looks like Zack got some peanut butter on it. I'm, uh, I'm going too go wipe it off.

Lucas: What's going on?

John: I don't know. But something sure as hell isn't right here. I intend to find out what it is.

Roman: Doc... is there anything else that you remember?

Marlena: No. No.

Roman: Look, believe me, I -- I hate to keep asking you to revisit this, but I don't remember anything that happened to me after... so I'm just saying that maybe if you could go through it one more time, then just one more detail might pop out, just like it did with the Teddy bear.

Marlena: I was buried alive. It was the most -- the most horrible experience of my life. Oh. Oh. Please, John. [Sobbing] John. Sami. Eric. Help me. I can't breathe. [Gasps] Please, help me. I can't die. I figured I was going to suffocate, so... I began saying the Lord's prayer. Our Father, who -- who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread... at that point, I heard a sound -- a whirring sound, like a machine. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our -- our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil... then the -- the whirring sound suddenly stopped. There was a -- a clicking noise, as if -- as if I were switching tracks. Oh! Aah! The next thing I knew, the coffin opened, and I started to fall. [Screaming] Oh, please... help! Help!

Roman: Marlena... what happened then?

Marlena: Well, I must have been unconscious, because the next thing that I can remember... where am I? [Thud]

Marlena: [Gasps] Then I was blinded by a bright light. The whole thing was so surreal. It was like I was free-falling right into the belly of hell.

Jan: You are over him, aren't you?

Belle: I don't know.

Jan: You don't know? I'm sorry to be so blunt, Belle, but what Shawn did to you was unforgivable.

Philip: Hey, Jan, try not to gloat.

Jan: Who's gloating? Look, so much has changed since we lost our parents. I feel terrible for Shawn. He lost his mom, and he doesn't even know it, and now he doesn't even have Belle to comfort him.

Belle: I still love him, Jan.

Jan: Look, I know that this is none of my business, but this isn't the first time that Shawn's hurt you. Don't you remember how he lied to you about being the father of my baby? That was his idea, you know.

Belle: Look, I know that -- that Shawn and I still have a chance, because he still loves me. That's the last thing he said to me before he left. Shawn knows what he has to do if he wants this relationship to be over.

Jan: What?

Belle: It's between Shawn and me.

Philip: Jan, it's time for you to go.

Belle: I think I'd like to be alone.

Jan: If you ever want to talk, I'm here. I really want you to consider us friends.

Philip: Are you okay?

Belle: I don't know.

Philip: What did you mean, Shawn knows what he has to do to end your relationship?

Belle: Do we have to keep talking about this? Philip, I know you're trying to help, but I'd really appreciate it if you and Jan would just butt out.

Hope: Why don't you think I should let him go?

Doug: He just sounds suspect to me.

Hope: But, Daddy, I'm beginning to think crooked or not, he may be the only person who can find Jennifer.

Doug: Okay, okay, maybe so. But you don't want to make any decisions until we're absolutely sure exactly what he's up to. I mean, if Patrick is really working for our captor... he could be the only key we have to finding Jennifer and getting off this damn island. Speaking of this damn island, I am so sweaty, so dirty, I got to clean up. I'll be right back, and then you and I will figure this whole thing out together, okay?

Hope: I love you, Daddy.

Doug: Ha ha. Oh.

Hope: Damn it.

Hope: You can run, Patrick... but you can't hide.

Jack: [Grunts] Hang on, Jennifer. I'm coming to get you and our baby. I'm going to get us off this Godforsaken island. Ugh. Here I come.

Jennifer: Oh, my gosh. Whew. Oh. All right. That's about -- about a 10-mile drop. All right, Jennifer, just -- just don't look down. Don't look down. You just -- you just go, and you -- you don't look down. Aah! Oh, my gosh. Oh. Okay. Just be really, really careful. You have to get help. You have to get help. Okay.

Marlena: Is that what you think, Abe, that we're in hell?

Abe: Well, I -- I didn't really mean it that way. St. Luke's Cemetery is built on all kinds of subterranean tunnels and chambers, and my guess is that whoever our captor is used those tunnels to remove the coffins and corpses.

Roman: Abe, that's one hell of a theory. I didn't even know there were tunnels under that graveyard.

Abe: I didn't know that, either, but according to the blueprints that Tek uncovered when he was with the I.S.A., they were used for the underground railroad.

Roman: I knew that church was old, but I had no idea.

Marlena: Of course. That makes so much sense now.

Marlena: I remember trapping John down there the night I supposedly killed Doug.

John: Yeah, you're in here. I can feel you... hiding like the coward that you are. Well, you've killed for the last time, you hear me? I said, you hear me? I I got you now, because there is no way out, so it's going to end right here, right now.

Marlena: Whoever was forcing me to -- to kill must have somehow informed me about those tunnels.

Marlena: How else would I have known?

Abe: This mystery gets more and more interesting.

Roman: Whew, man, that's for sure. But I'll tell you what -- Maggie's right. Our captor's only human, bound to overlook something.

Abe: Well, I just hope when he or she does, one of us is there to catch it.

John: If that bear was buried in Marlena's casket, then somehow wound up at Bo's house, I need to pay a visit to Marlena's gravesite.

Sami: Wait a second. Leave her alone. Haven't you done enough?

John: You coming with me?

Lucas: Yeah, absolutely.

Sami: I'm going, too.

John: No, you need to stay here and get some rest.

Lucas: Yeah, stay here with the bear.

Sami: Don't talk to me like I'm 2 years old. What other explanation is there besides -- oh, my God. You don't think that --

John: I think we need to get to your mom's gravesite right now.

Sami: Oh, my God.

Hope: Step away from the perimeter.

Patrick: Or what, you're going to shoot me? I don't think so, especially since neither one of us have a gun.

Hope: I saw you working the keypad. You know the code to the force field, don't you, you bastard?

Patrick: I was just trying different combinations, trying to land on the right one.

Hope: How? What does that coin have to do with it?

Patrick: It's too complicated to explain.

Hope: Patrick, if you are capable of opening up that force field, then you have got to do it. We have to rescue Jack and Jennifer.

Patrick: I am telling you for the last time, you are not going.

Hope: Neither are you.

Hope: Patrick, wait!

Belle: I'm sorry I snapped at you. I don't know what's wrong with me. I keep doing this. You have been so supportive and such a good friend.

Philip: Come sit down for a sec. Come here. I know what's wrong with you. You're in limbo. And I know because I've been there. See, I was in love with Chloe, but she didn't love me the same way. Everybody kept telling me I needed to let her go, but I just didn't know how, and I wish that I knew what to tell you, what it's going to take for you to realize that you need to let him go.

Belle: You just -- you don't understand. I-I can't move on until --

Philip: Until -- until what? What?

Belle: Philip... Shawn and I have an agreement.

Philip: What kind of agreement, that you're just going to wait around for him no matter how long it takes?

Belle: Philip, I can't tell you. It's private. I'm sorry. I hope you understand.

Jan: [Sighs] Okay, Belle, what exactly is this private thing between you and Shawn? What would force you to move on without him? Of course. Why didn't I think of this sooner? [Telephone rings]

Belle: Hello?

Jan: Hi, Belle, it's Jan Spears. I'm sorry to bother you again. I just thought you'd want to hear this. I know where Shawn is.

Roman: You know what, partner? I agree with you. It's going to take only one little clue to lead our loved ones back to that graveyard.

Marlena: Roman, Abe, is there any way to tell if there actually is a body in a -- in a casket 6 feet under without digging it up?

Roman: The only way to find out exactly what is in a coffin is to do it the old-fashioned way.

Sami: I mean, you don't really think that someone would dig up Mom's body to steal Mr. Fuzzy, do you? John, answer me. Do you really think someone would disturb Mom's grave?

John: I don't know.

Sami: Well, I mean, it doesn't look like the plot's been tampered with. There's no fresh dug-up dirt or anything.

Lucas: She's got a point, John. What do you think happened?

Sami: Lucas, if someone stole Mr. Fuzzy, do you really think they could have taken Mom, too?

John: That's been my fear all along.

Lucas: How can we be sure?

John: There's only one way. We're going to have to exhume her body.

Sami: No. No, there is no way I will let you do that.

Hope: Aah! Oh.

Patrick: What do you think you're doing?

Hope: Me? What about you? How did that coin open up the force field?

Patrick: I don't know. It must be the metal.

Hope: There's no code.

Patrick: I was entering various numbers, and I noticed the coin was affecting the current of the force field. That's when you showed up.

Hope: So now what?

Patrick: So now we have to get the field reopened so you can return.

Hope: No way. I'm going with you.

Patrick: Are you crazy? You have no idea what you're facing.

Hope: My cousin is out there, and I'm going to find her, Patrick. Are you coming with me or not?

[Creaking]

Jennifer: Just keep steady. Keep steady.

Jack: Jennifer. Jennifer. Oh, no.

Jack: Jennifer!

Jennifer: Oh, my gosh. That sounds like jack. No. No, no, no. Just keep -- keep moving. Got to keep moving.

Jack: Jennifer!

Jennifer: Jack. Oh, oh. You -- you got out.

Jack: Don't move an inch. Just stay where you are. Jen -- freeze!

Jennifer: Aah! Aah!

Jack: Jennifer! Jennifer!

Jennifer: Aah!

Jan: Belle is over you big time. She's shacking up with Philip.

Belle: What are you planning?

Philip: How'd you like to help me give Jan Spears the surprise of her life?

Hope: What was your assignment concerning my cousin?

Patrick: To target her, bring her down.

John: Someone's messing around with Marlena's grave. I need a court order to exhume her body.

Sami: Bo, stop him. You have to tell him to let my Mother rest in peace.
