Rex: That's strange.

Mimi: What?

Rex: The weather. The way the wind started blowing all of a sudden. I don't know. It just reminds me of Halloween night when Maggie was murdered.

Mimi: Yeah, you're right. Except it's the middle of May. Come on, let's get inside.

Shawn: Oh, there's my newest grandson. Hello, Rex. Hello, Mimi.

Rex: Hey, Grandpa Shawn.

Mimi: Hi, Mr. Brady. I'm really, really sorry, Mr. Black.

John: Thanks, Mimi.

Shawn: What brings the two of you out here on a night like this, eh?

Mimi: Um, we were just going to get some takeout, but I didn't -- I didn't realize how late it was. Maybe we should just go.

Shawn: No, no, no, don't go. Don't go. No.

Rex: Excuse me. John? Could I talk to you in private?

Mimi: Poor Belle's dad... to find out his wife is the serial killer, then she gets shot just inches in front of him before he can save her.

Hope: His whole world has been shattered.

Mimi: Belle's too.

Hope: Where is Belle?

Mimi: Uh, Philip was going to take her back to the loft.

Shawn: Well, listen now, I'll send a little something home with you for them, you know? Uh, I got chili, Irish stew, sandwiches... fresh pie. I'll get 'em a little bit of everything, eh?

Mimi: Have either one of you talked to Shawn, 'cause we sure haven’t.

Hope: You mean Shawn still hasn't called Belle?

Mimi: No.

Bo: That's not like him.

Mimi: She left him a message, and Marlena's death has been all over the news. So...

Hope: I don't like the sounds of this. Maybe something's happened to him.

Bo: Or maybe he's still riding that motorcycle down the highway.

Hope: This late? No way. He would've pulled over somewhere -- motel, restaurant. He would've been near a TV or a radio. I mean, every show's been interrupted with a special bulletin about Marlena. He would've heard about it.

Bo: We'll give him a call.

Mimi: I know Belle's tried him over and over, and he hasn't picked up. She thinks he's avoiding her, so... maybe if you guys try, maybe he'll at least answer.

Belle: No messages. Why haven't I heard from him, Philip? My mom's death is all over the radio and the television.

Philip: Shawn will call when he hears.

Belle: He has to have heard by now.

Philip: Call him again.

Belle: It's just ringing. God, Shawn, where are you?

Philip: Look, maybe he's not answering because he's somehow... tied up.

Shawn-D: Who are you? No. It can't be.

Jan: Hello, love bunny. I'm back.

Shawn-D: I don't believe it. Jan spears.

Jan: Hi, special Boy. Did you miss me?

Shawn-D: Is this some sort of sick joke, Jan? Hmm? Who put you up to this?

Jan: Joke? This is no joke. I did this all on my own... with a little help from my kewpie doll, of course.

Shawn-D: Would you stop that? Just let me go, Jan, okay? I need to get back to Belle.

Jan: Whoops. You just said the unmagic word.

Shawn-D: Okay, listen to me, listen to me. Her mother was shot and killed at the women's jail facility tonight, okay?

Jan: I know, baby. We heard the exciting news together. Isn't it great? The serial killer brought to justice. You know, personally, I feel a whole lot safer.

Shawn-D: Serial killer or not, dead or alive, it is Belle's mother, okay? Just think about that for a second.

[Cellular phone rings]

Jan: Hey, that's probably the little twit right now.

Shawn-D: Hey, give me the phone. Jan! Jan, give me the phone, okay? If it's Belle, I need to talk to her.

Jan: Unh-unh. And what exactly would you say to her? "Hi, Belle, I'm so sorry about your mother. I'll say a prayer."

Jan: Or maybe you'll say as fast as you can before I hang up the phone -- "help! Jan spears is holding me captive in a house outside of Salem!" Ha ha ha ha! Sorry. No can do. I'm not that stupid. In fact, you're never going to speak to that little bitch again.

Rex: Uh, John, I didn't expect to run into you here, but since I did, there's something I'd like to say to you. It's about Marlena.

John: Yeah, I know what you're going to say. My wife did a lot of horrible things to the people we love, including murdering your sister Cassíe and your father Roman --

Rex: No, John, that's not why I'm here. Look, there's no point in rehashing that stuff.

John: Sorry I interrupted. So start again. What about... Marlena?

Rex: Mimi and I just stopped by the morgue looking for Philip and Belle, and I just -- I just thought you should know your wife is not dead.

Celeste: [Gasps]

Marlena: Everything that's happened -- it's all a lie.

Celeste: Oh, dear God! Heavenly father, please deliver Marlena's soul from evil. Dear God, please remember her as the loving wife and mother -- please, dear God -- a woman who helped so many people before she develop this unquenchable thirst for blood!

Marlena: Celeste, Celeste. It's too late for divine intervention. Your prayers can't bring me salvation. Not this time.

Celeste: Why are you doing this? Why are you haunting me? You're dead!

Marlena: Maybe I'm not dead after all.

Hope: Shawn, please, honey, as soon as you get this message, call home. Belle really needs you right now. At least let us know that you're okay. Just call. I love you, honey. Bye. Went right to his voicemail. Maybe he's on the phone.

Bo: Or he's got it turned off.

Mimi: Maybe he's talking to Belle.

Hope: Who knows? I don't know, but let's just keep trying. And whoever hears from him first, please tell him to call home.

Mimi: I wish I knew what to do for Belle. I mean, she watched the whole thing on the news. I mean, she watched her mom die. I still don't understand how this could happen.

Hope: I know. Hey. It's been a long night. Time for us to go home and be with Zack.

Bo: Let's say good night to pop first. Good night, Mimi.

Hope: Keep trying. So will I, all right?

Mimi: Of course.

John: What are you saying, Rex -- that my wife's still alive?

Rex: Look, what I meant was that she's alive in our hearts. The way she used to be, we all remember her. Look, the funeral home was filled with flowers. A lot of people loved her, John. We'll always love her. That's all I wanted you to know. I'm sorry if I got your hopes up.

John: It's okay, it's okay, it's okay. Of all people, I should be the one to know my wife is dead and she's never coming back.

Marlena: Now, Celeste, I want you to stop fighting me, for heaven's sake. Look, not even someone as powerful as you can win.

Celeste: I was just trying to help your soul rest in peace. I didn't mean to --

Marlena: To what -- to resurrect me? Well, you did!

Celeste: What do you want from me?

Marlena: Look, I know you're the wise truth-telling soothsayer, the one with a gift, the one with all the answers, but this time I'm the one with premonitions of gloom and doom.

Celeste: Someone else is going to die?

Marlena: Yes. That's it.

Celeste: And are you the one who's going to murder the next victim?

Marlena: Celeste, I came back from the spirit world to ask you to avenge my death.

Celeste: So are you saying that you're not the serial killer?

Marlena: Well, let's just say the worst is yet to come.

Celeste: Well, you have to tell me, Marlena. Who's going to die next?

Marlena: Everyone. Everyone in Salem.

Belle: Shawn, please, listen to me. Everyone is worried sick about you. If you don't want to come home, that's fine. Just call me back as soon as you get this message.

[Thunder rumbling]

Philip: You don't mean that.

Belle: Mean what?

Philip: Well, you said, "if you don't want to come home, that's fine." Do you really feel that way?

Belle: No. I just thought that if I said that, it might take the pressure off of Shawn, and he'd actually return my phone call.

Philip: Right. Belle, come on, you are exhausted. At least lie down on the couch and try to get some rest. Come on.

Belle: Philip, there is no way I'm going to get some rest. I've tried everything -- warm milk, chamomile tea... I'm not going to sleep.

Philip: All right, well, I've got an idea. Come here. Come sit down. Now, how's that feel?

Belle: Wonderful. Philip, you're such a good friend...

Philip: Right.

Belle: Taking time off from the base to be here for me while this is happening. Do you think maybe you should head back before the storm hits?

Philip: Come on, don't you know I'll never leave you?

Belle: You're right. If only I could say the same thing about Shawn.

Jan: This isn't the way you were supposed to react, Shawn. I mean, especially when the woman you love has returned to you from Europe to rescue you from the clutches of that little whiny virgin Belle.

Shawn-D: "The woman I love"?

Jan: Hey. You know, here's an idea. Maybe if I put my makeup back on and I pretended to be Mrs. B. And gave you another cup of my special herb tea, you would be a little bit more excited to see me the next time you woke up.

Shawn-D: Thank you, but, no. Really, I don't want any more of Mrs. B.'s tea. Why are you doing this?

Jan: You know why. 'Cause I'm the woman you love.

Shawn-D: No, no, no, you see, I love Belle.

Jan: No, dearest, you just think you love Belle. If that little bitch didn't push me down the stairs, then I wouldn't have lost our precious baby -- the baby that we made out of love that summer in Puerto Rico.

Shawn-D: What?

Jan: If I still had our precious Shawn Jr., we would be living happily ever after in Salem right now.

Shawn-D: Okay. First of all, that's not how it happened. Okay? Belled didn't push you down those steps. You fell. Secondly, we were never together, Jan, okay? Mendez -- remember him? Yeah, yeah, he raped you. I guess it slipped your mind.

Jan: Once Belle forced me out of your life, I went to Europe with my mom to figure out a way to get your attention.

Shawn-D: And chaining me up inside of this...cage was your solution?

Jan: Yeah. Plus, a few other... touches. Would you like to see? Of course you would.   The things I'm going to do to you, lover. )

Hope: I'm worried about Shawn. I mean, I just can't believe that he hasn't tried to contact Belle. Why isn't he answering his phone?

Bo: Hope, listen, if he's trying to put distance between himself and Salem, the sound of that motorcycle's going to drown out the sound of a cell phone. You know what? He could be camping out. No TV, no radio, no place to plug in that cell phone... hey, look, you're worried about your first-born son. You didn't want him to leave in the first place, but he's a young man. He's got a good head on his shoulders. He can take care of himself.

Hope: I know.

Bo: Want me to put a fire in the fireplace?

Hope: Yeah, that'd be nice. I'm going to go upstairs and relieve the babysitter.

Bo: Hey, hey, hey. What is it?

Hope: We've all had so much tragedy and grief, and every time that we think that it's over, it -- I'm really sad for John. He lost Isabella to cancer, and now he's lost Marlena. How much more can one man take?

Bo: I'm sorry, Marlena. But after what you did, you're better off dead.

Celeste: Marlena, this makes no sense at all. How can everyone in Salem die?

Marlena: Don't ask me questions I can't answer.

Celeste: Look, there's no way the killings can continue because you're dead. You see, you were shot by a police sniper at the county jail. Now, you just can't get up and walk out of the mortuary like this. That's not logical.

Marlena: Since when do you deal in logic, Celeste? Now, think about this for me. If I don't walk out of the mortuary, who is going to continue this reign of terror?

Celeste: You -- you can't be serious! Well, if you -- if you really think it's possible that the killings are going to continue...

Marlena: Yes, Celeste. The evil lives on. But most importantly, it has... a plan.

Celeste: No! No!

John: [Gasps] My God.

Belle: You know, Shawn knew that my mom was going to be sent to death row, and he still couldn't tell me when he was coming back. Maybe he didn't want to be here when my mom was killed. Maybe he knew he couldn't be here for me because he was so happy that the serial killer was caught and going to be punished.

Philip: Belle, Shawn loves you.

Belle: Philip, there is a reason he couldn't commit to our future. Maybe he doesn't love me -- not really.

Philip: Come on, don't do this tonight. Just relax. Now, you and I have known Shawn his entire life, and I have to admit that there's no way he would just abandon you or his family. And, yeah, if he knew what was going on, Shawn would be here. I just -- I wish there was some way I could track him down for you to figure out where he is.

Rex: I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier. I know exactly how we can find Shawn.

Shawn-D: I can't!

Jan: Ain't that the truth? You've got incredible self-control, Shawn. I mean, we've been separated for so long. Don't you want to make love to me?

Shawn-D: Shouldn't we do some catching up first? I mean, it's been so long since we've seen one another. And this is such a surprise.

Jan: Actually, that's not true. I have been watching you for a while.

Belle: We're being watched, Shawn. I can feel it.

Shawn-D: I told you I've had that same feeling.

Belle: Come on, let's go look. Oh, my God, Shawn, look -- footprints.

Shawn-D: That could be anyone’s. That was you.

Jan: I have the wounds to prove it.

Shawn-D: You were the woman in my bed the night Marlena tried to kill me.

Jan: I took a major hit for you, Shawn. I mean, I was expecting to get poked, but not like that and... not by her. You're so beautiful, Shawn. I missed you so much.

Shawn-D: I was worried about you so much myself.

Jan: You must've heard about my parents. I never imagined they'd be reunited because of me. My father -- he was really worried about me after Belle caused me to lose my love child. That's when he decided to join me and my mother in Europe. Before I knew it, they were back together again. I never imagined that day, when they took the ski lift up, that they would come down in a body bag. The rescue team only had one in their sled, so my mom and dad had to share it. Isn't that sweet?

Shawn-D: Sweet?

Jan: Well, yeah. I mean, it was strangely romantic. Fate -- don't you think? I mean, look... They were smiling, even in the face of death.

Shawn-D: I'm so sorry, Jan.

Jan: Don't be. I mean, they were together when they died, just like we're going to be, Shawn.

Shawn-D: What are you saying?

Jan: I mean, my parents are the reason why I came back to Salem to claim my man. I mean, they showed me that, even in the face of major adversity, true love always wins in the end.

Shawn-D: Okay, what are you talking about?

Jan: I inherited a lot of money. So you and I are going to live in our love nest until the end of time.

Shawn-D: No. Stop. I can't let you do that!

[Thunder rumbling]

Bo: Hey.

Hope: Is it raining yet?

Bo: No. About to start. What you looking at?

Hope: All these old photos just make me cry. Our little baby's turning into a little boy, and Shawn's not a little boy anymore. He's a grown man. And, well, you and me --

Bo: Hey, hey. You're not about to say we're getting old, are you?

Hope: Maybe you're getting old, but --

Bo: Yeah.

Hope: Hey, you know how people always say "don't get old"?

Bo: Mm.

Hope: Gran never felt that way. I mean, if she had to slow down a little bit, that was just fine with her. Look at these photos. She did everything with such grace. There'll never be another Gran.

Bo: No, there won’t.

Hope: They're beautiful. Look at her. Look at my dad and your mother. I don't even remember taking these photos. And then I flip over here, and look at these. Pictures of Marlena. That was part of our history, too. She was part of our family.

Bo: I know. I loved her, too.

Hope: Look at this. Oh, my God. Us on the other side of the world -- Fiji, Tahiti. All that time we lost with our families. I regret the time we lost with them. And I'm so grateful for the time we had with them. I miss the fancy face. Life was so much simpler back then.

Bo: Yeah.

Hope: I can't imagine how anything is ever going to be the same again.

Bo: Well, fancy face, it won't be. We have to make a new history, that's all. Here.

Hope: What? Flow-- flowers?

Bo: Yeah, flowers.

Hope: They're beautiful. Where the heck did you find flowers at this hour?

Bo: Well, after I dropped the babysitter off, I figured my beautiful wife would need a little pick-me-up, so... all the flower shops were closed. I stopped by the city park and did a little picking.

Hope: What?

Bo: Yes.

Hope: You didn’t. You did?

Bo: Not to worry. Yes, I did. Not to worry. I will stop by city hall tomorrow and pay the fine.

Hope: I should hope so, officer. Ha ha. Hey, you remember the time you picked flowers in Gran's front yard for me?

Bo: Oh, man. How could I forget? They were her prize-winning tulips, right?

Hope: Tulips. That's right.

Bo: For the Salem garden show.

Hope: Yeah. You know what?

Bo: What?

Hope: She admitted to me years later that she often smiled about that day. Yeah, she thought it was very romantic.

Bo: She was always a sucker for romance.

Hope: I'd give anything to go back to that. Everything seemed so much simpler back then.

Bo: Yeah. It seemed so much simpler, but I don't think it really was.

Hope: Maybe not.

Bo: One thing I could always count on, though, was you.

John: Celeste, hang on, hang on, hang on. Sit down, sit down. Easy. Here. Celeste. Celeste. Come on. Celeste? Hang in there. Hold on. Wake up. Come on, Celeste. Can you hear me? Wake up! Come on! Come on.

Celeste: John? What happened?

John: Here.

Celeste: What happened?

John: You almost fainted.

Celeste: Oh.

John: Listen, Celeste, this is going to sound pretty crazy, but... I swear I heard Marlena's voice. I thought I saw two silhouettes through that glass there, and then I heard you scream. What was going on in here?

Celeste: I -- I came here to -- to make sure that Marlena's tormented soul was at peace with God. John, I don't know how to tell you this, but the voice you heard, it was Marlena's.

John: What?

Celeste: Yes. Your wife -- Marlena, the woman you love -- is still alive.

John: That's not possible. It's my imagination. I was with her when she died. I held her... in my arms when she took her last breath. I walked her all the way to St. Luke’s. There's just no way that she could be alive.

Celeste: She spoke to me, John. The voice you heard in the corridor, it was Marlena's.

John: There's no pulse.

Celeste: Oh, God. I know this sounds insane, but what if she didn't die from the gunshot? What if she went into some sort of deep coma, like she did when she was poisoned?

John: Baby... baby, if you're alive, you come back to me, please. Doc, can you hear me? Honey, can you hear me? Honey, can you hear me?

Milbauer: What's going on here?

John: Milbauer, I believe my wife might be alive.

Milbauer: That's impossible. There's no way.

John: Are you sure? Can you prove it to me?

Philip: All right, Rex, what is up your sleeve?

Belle: Yeah, how can you track Shawn?

Rex: By using this. When I was staying in the DiMera mansion -- remember when everybody thought I was the bad guy? Well, I developed a mini-tracking chip that I thought could be useful. After I caught Shawn going through my computer files, I figured, well, I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I put a mini-tracking chip in his leather jacket.

Mimi: Ah ha. Oh, so, did you put one of those on me?

Rex: No. I wanted to court you the old-fashioned way.

Mimi: Good.

Rex: I just -- I only used the tracking device on people I thought were out to get me.

Belle: Okay, well, let's get this thing started.

Philip: Yeah.

[Device beeps]

Rex: That's odd.

Belle: What?

Rex: Well, according to this, it says Shawn is still somewhere in or around Salem.

Jan: I cannot believe you're upset with me, Shawn.

Shawn-D: I'm sorry. Sorry, I shouldn't have gone off like that. It's just there's a few things that I need to take care of before, you know, I can devote my whole life to our future together.

Jan: What exactly do you need to do?

Shawn-D: Remember -- you know how hard it was for you when you lost your folks?

Jan: Yeah. Yeah, Shawn.

Shawn-D: Okay. Well, then please, Jan, just think about Belle.

Jan: Belle?!

Shawn-D: Yes, yes, and how hard it is for her, and I need to go there to her and be with her, the same way -- the same way I was there for you -- for you when you lost your baby.

Jan: Our baby, Shawn! Our baby!

Shawn-D: Yes, you're right. I'm sorry. Yes, our baby. Our -- our wonderful baby -- Shawn Jr., or whatever. Listen, then I promise I will come back to you.

Jan: That bitch! She killed our baby, and now she's brainwashed you. Belle had you under her spell for a very long time, but don't you worry, Shawn. I'm just the woman to break it. And once I do, you're never going to think about Belle black again.

John: What the hell are you doing, man?

Milbauer: Simply trying to prove to you that your wife is quite dead.

John: Well, if she wasn't, she damn sure is now!

Celeste: But she was alive. I talked to her right here in this room.

John: Milbauer, you're a freak. I ought to have you -- I will have your license revoked. I heard my wife's voice.

Milbauer: As a professional mortician and a man of science, I can honestly tell you that your wife is clinically, legally dead, even before my... demonstration.

John: Oh, doc. I'm hearing your voice in my mind, in my heart. It must be my imagination, but I'd do anything to bring you back. Anything.

Celeste: I know what I saw, what I heard. Oh, dear God, if Marlena is somehow still alive, please, please, give us some sort of sign.

Hope: What about Bo?

Celeste: Uh, yeah. Well, let me see if I can get the image back, all right? Oh, I'm sorry, darling, but in my vision, all of you are very happy. But Bo, darling, he's -- he's not in the picture.

Bo: Hey. What is it?

Hope: I just remembered as I was dozing off that Celeste said I was going to lose you.

Bo: Hey, never. That's not gonna happen.

Hope: So many of her premonitions have come true, Bo.

Bo: Well, not this one. You've got nothing to worry about, Hope. Not anymore. Come here. It's all right. It's okay.

Rex: I haven't used this program in a while, but according to the tracking code, Shawn is still somewhere on the outskirts of town.

Belle: Oh, my God. What if he fell off his motorcycle and he's lying unconscious on the side of some road?

Mimi: Try not to panic.

Belle: Can't you pinpoint exactly where he is?

Rex: Absolutely. Let's see.

[Thunder crashes]

Rex: Damn it! I just lost the signal! Let's see if I can get it back. Oh, no.

Belle: What's wrong?

Rex: I'm sorry.

Belle: Can't you get the signal back?

Rex: I've completely lost it. Whatever we got before must have been a false reading. I haven't maintained the system in a while. It's completely failed.

Belle: Oh.

Rex: Sorry, Belle. I didn't mean to get your hopes up.

Belle: That's fine. At least I know he's not lying in a ditch somewhere. Um, I'm going to try his cell phone again.

Mimi: I am really starting to worry about Shawn. This is not like him at all.

Philip: I have to agree.

Rex: Yeah, I mean, I know he's hurting over Belle lying and giving her mom a phony alibi and then his great-grandmother dying, but I don't think he'd punish her like this.

Mimi: Where is he? Why isn't he here?

Philip: I never thought I'd say this, but maybe Sami was right. Maybe Shawn has left Belle for good.

Belle: No!

Philip: Belle. Belle! Belle!

Shawn-D: Would you stop it?!

Jan: What's wrong, sweetie-pie?

Shawn-D: Everything! Belle did not brainwash me, okay? She's the only woman that I have ever loved in my entire life, and I need to go to her now. Don't you get it?

Jan: You're not exactly racking up points here, Shawn. Oh, damn Belle black! Kewpie... you promised me it would not turn out like this. You promised me that he was going to love me. Only me.

Kewpie: Love's never easy, Jan. You must be patient and persistent. You must not let your lover go. You must break Belle's spell over him and make him forget all about her. Then, and only then, will he be yours.

Jan: Thank you, kewpie. Sorry, but, uh, looks like you've given me no choice. You've forced me to give you a dose of tough love.

Shawn-D: This is nuts. And I want you to let me go, Jan.

Kewpie: You can do it, Jan.

Jan: You're not going anywhere. Don't you get it? It's you...and me. We're lovers now.

Shawn-D: There is no way that I'm ever giving up on Belle.

Jan: Oh, yes, there is, Shawn Douglas. I have big surprises for you. Big surprises.

[Thunder rumbling]

Celeste: John, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to add to your grief by telling you that Marlena was still alive. It must have been some sort of waking dream.

John: She's never coming back.

Celeste: Oh, John. Oh... I'm sorry.

“Next on Days Of Our Lives”

Philip: I don't want to badmouth Shawn, but the longer this goes on, the more I start thinking that he does not deserve you.

John: This is gonna sound out there, kid. I thought I heard Marlena talking to Celeste.

Crystal: I may tell the cops who masterminded the jailbreak tonight and set Marlena up to die.

Jan: Say that you love me and not Belle. Say it!

Shawn-D: You are totally psycho.
