Mimi: I told my mom tonight that I don't -- I don't want to be a Lockhart anymore. I want to be Mrs. You. Whatever name goes along with that. I know you were going to propose to me tonight. But since you never got the chance... rex, will you marry me and be my love forever?
Rex: Mimi... Mimi, I never meant to hurt you tonight, or disappoint you. There's no one else in this world I'd rather share my life with than you.
Mimi: Oh, my God. Rex, does that mean you're accepting my proposal?
Brady: Dad, come on. You're not taking seriously tek's wild theory that marlena could actually --
John: For me to believe that the woman I love is a killer is going to take a hell of a lot more than a conspiracy theory or circumstantial evidence. I need cold, hard facts, son. Or at least I need to hear it from someone I trust my life with.
Brady: You're not going to get those, because marlena is not a serial killer, whether she has an alibi for Doug’s murder or not.
John: Yeah. Well, anyway, listen, you came here to talk to me about something. I haven't given you much of a chance, have I?
Brady: No, I understand. And it can wait, really.
John: No, no, come on. What is it? Let's go.
Brady: I guess I could just use a little fatherly advice.
John: Sounds serious.
Brady: It is. I'm concerned for my future with Chloe.
John: Well, I'm sorry to hear that. I thought things were going well. What's the problem?
Brady: The problem is Nicole.
Nicole: Tell me something, Henderson. What's wrong with this picture?
Henderson: Madame, where shall I begin?
Nicole: How dare you talk to me like that? May I remind you I'm the head of this house now? In addition to which, I have zero loyalty to my late husband's servants, particularly one that's been a thorn in my side since the day I arrived. You're lucky that I don't toss your ass out on the spot.
Henderson: Forgive me, Madame. I meant no disrespect. I'll fill the decanter at once with your favourite vodka and check it hourly.
Nicole: Don't push me, you little bastard. Now that the old man is dead and gone, I am taking control, and I will have respect.
Victor: When hell freezes over.
Bo: What happened?
Hope: Nothing. Nothing happened. You just fell asleep again on the sofa.
Bo: What time is it?
Hope: It's late. You should go upstairs and get some sleep.
Hope: Some real sleep. Bo.
Bo: No. There's a killer on the streets. No more rest until she's found.
Shawn-D: Listen, you were gonna tell me something when rex called before. What was it?
Marlena: Don't tell him. If he suspects I'm the killer, you'll end up mourning Shawn, not marrying him.
Belle: I do have something to tell you, Shawn. It's something that I should have told you before, and I pray that you forgive me that I didn’t.
Shawn-D: What is it?
Belle: I lied to you.
Shawn-D: You lied? About what?
Belle: To cover up for my mom. I told you that I was with her when your grandpa Doug was murdered by the serial killer, but I wasn’t.
Belle: The truth is, I didn't get to her house until much later.
Shawn-D: So I was right all along, and you knew it? Do you know what this means?
Belle: Shawn, no! I don't believe it! It can't be my mom!
Marlena: It's true, Belle. I'm afraid it's true.
Belle: What? Mom, you can't be.
Marlena: The Salem stalker? I'm sorry. I am.
Mimi: God. I hope you don't think I'm being too forward asking you, even if it is leap year. Since my mom ruined your proposal, I had to do something.
Rex: Oh, no, Mimi. Look, I love that you asked. Come on, how many guys get proposed to?
Rex: I wish more than anything that I could accept your proposal, but I can’t. I can't marry you.
Mimi: I don't understand. Because you asked my mom.
Rex: I'm sorry, I've had a chance to think about it, and --
Mimi: Oh, my God. Oh, God, I feel like the biggest idiot.
Rex: Don't say that. You're not.
Mimi: Okay, all I want to know is one thing. We love each other, right?
Rex: Of course we do.
Mimi: Well, isn't that all that matters?
Rex: No. As much as it kills me to say this, your mom was right. I'm not the man for you, Mimi. I'm just not.
John: All right, so what has Nicole done now?
Brady: Well, it's more like what she won't do.
John: Yeah? What's this?
Brady: Those are legal papers that Mickey drew up for Granddad.
John: I see. This is funds for the Isabella toscano black concert hall. What's it got to do with Nicole?
Brady: Well, since Granddad's amended will hasn't turned up yet, Nicole stands to inherit a very large portion of Granddad's estate.
John: I see. And you're afraid the funds won't be released to finish the hall, right?
Brady: Not in a million years.
John: Mm-hmm. I'd like to help you, son, but unless you can get her to sign off, I'm afraid you're gonna leave it to the courts to sort out.
Brady: Oh, that could take forever!
John: That's a fact. But, son, I really doubt that that will cause Chloe to stay away. What do you think?
Brady: Ah, it wouldn’t. But I don't want Chloe sacrificing her career for me. And I don't want to lose her again, either.
John: Well, then you've got your work cut out for you. You know what you got to do.
Brady: Anything and everything it takes. There's no way in hell Nicole is coming in between me and Chloe.
John: Yeah. Good luck, son.
Brady: Thanks, dad.
John: You be careful out there, all right?
Brady: You got it. And listen, don't take tek's theory too seriously, okay? You know marlena could not be the serial killer. See you later.
John: Okay, kid. I wish I did, son. I wish I did.
Shawn-D: I knew it! I knew you were the killer. You murdered my grandfather Doug, my uncle Roman, my grandma Caroline, and so many others!
Belle: Shawn, no! There must be some mistake, mom! You cannot be responsible for killing all those people.
Marlena: Belle, unfortunately, I am.
Shawn-D: Well, I'm not gonna let you hurt anyone else. I'm calling my father, and I'm having you arrested.
Marlena: I can't let you do that, Shawn.
Shawn-D: Unfortunately, you have nothing to say about it.
Marlena: No, that's really where you're wrong.
Belle: Mom, no!
Belle: Shawn! Shawn, oh, my God! Oh, my God! Mom! Mom, why?
Marlena: You should have listened, Belle! I told you not to tell him!
Marlena: Stop the whining now, stop it! Belle! Ever since you were a baby, your whining drove me crazy! Stop it!
Belle: Oh, my God! Oh, my God!
Marlena: Belle, I said shut up!
Shawn-D: Listen, whatever it is, you can tell me. Right? You can tell me anything.
Hope: Bo, you're exhausted. You need to rest.
Bo: Hope, I'm fine. Another cup of coffee, good as new.
Hope: Don't argue with me. You know better than that. Now, I'm gonna go upstairs, I'm gonna check on zack, and then I'm gonna come back down and make you something hot to eat.
Bo: I'll grab something on the way. I got a lot of work right here.
Hope: It's enough for one day. Bo, you were nearly up all night last night investigating Victor's murder, and then back at it early this morning.
Bo: What about your dad's case? Any new leads?
Hope: A few theories. Not even worth mentioning. I'm beginning to think we're grasping at straws.
Bo: Listen, I'm gonna call the station, see what's up, then go over to titan, check out Victor's office, find out if there was anyone besides Nicole who could have benefited from Victor's death.
Hope: Bo, if you love me, you won't go.
Nicole: What -- what are you doing here? You're dead. You should be burning in hell by now.
Victor: The only one going to hell here, my dear, is you.
Nicole: I'm not scared of you. Not anymore.
Victor: You really think you've got it made now, don't you, with me out of the way?
Nicole: With you out of the way, your grieving widow is set to inherit the kiriakis Empire, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.
Victor: Well, maybe not me, but you are forgetting a couple of minor details, like my sons Bo and Philip, not to mention my grandsons Brady and Shawn and my nephew Justin. I'm sure they'll all have something to say about the distribution of my assets.
Nicole: As far as I'm concerned, they can kiss your assets goodbye.
Victor: Do you really think that my family -- my blood -- would give up their birthright to the likes of you?
Nicole: They don't have a choice. I'm your wife. I'm entitled to my share and then some for putting up with you.
Victor: Oh, wake up! That didn't work for Anna Nicole, and it's not gonna work for ditsy Nicole.
Nicole: Oh, that's cute. Except Anna Nicole didn't have the ace in the hole that I have.
Victor: Which is?
Nicole: Your grandson Brady. Once I get him on my side and in my bed, nothing's gonna stop me. And the first thing I'm gonna do is halt construction on this giant money pit.
Victor: The concert hall?
Nicole: Yes. I'll sell the materials for scrap metal and make a nice little profit.
Victor: I think that's a wonderful idea. You should do it.
Victor: That way Brady will see you for what you really are -- a selfish, money-grubbing whore.
Nicole: You take that back, or so help me, vic--
Brady: Nicole! Who the hell are you talking to?
Mimi: Rex, what are you talking about? You're the only man that I need.
Rex: I'm trying to tell you that I can't commit to you, not now.
Mimi: Can't commit to me? You have no problem having sex with me! You can commit to that just fine, but when it comes to something more --
Rex: I'm not ready to be a husband to you. Your mom made me see that.
Mimi: My mom.
Rex: She was right. I don't have a job. I don't have any money, any prospects. I mean, until I know that I can provide for you and give you the life you deserve, there's no way I can accept your proposal. I'm sorry.
Mimi: I'm sorry, too, because if you can't commit to me, then what's the point of our going on, rex?
Rex: Wait a minute --
Mimi: No. No. It's over. I don't ever want to see you again.
Marlena: Don't do it, Belle.
Shawn-D: I'm getting a little worried here. Whatever it is, I want to know. What's bothering you?
Belle: It's nothing, Shawn. It's just I've had a lot on my mind lately.
Shawn-D: Are you sure?
Belle: Yeah, I'm positive. It's nothing for you to worry about.
Marlena: That's my girl.
Shawn-D: I do worry. Okay, everyone has been under a lot of stress lately, and I know it's starting to get to you.
Shawn-D: All right, look, I think I know what you need. What we both need.
Belle: What's that?
Shawn-D: I'm gonna take you home to bed.
John: Marlena, you here? Doc? Nah, it can't be you. But if it is, I got to find out, and I got to stop you and try to get you help, baby. Doug was stabbed to death with a dull knife.
Marlena: John. John, where are you?
John: Where have you been?
Marlena: I was out.
John: Stop! Oh, my God. It is you. -Look at this...-what?
Bo: What is up with you, hope? It's not like you to act like this. Come on, you're a cop.
Hope: I'm not just a cop. I'm also your wife. Can't you see that I'm worried? I am scared to death. I don't want you putting yourself in danger.
Bo: I am not putting myself in danger.
Hope: You already have! Working around the clock, barely sleeping, grabbing meals on the run? My God, look at you. You look like hell. You can barely see straight. You know what? If you keep this up, you're not gonna be able to think straight either, Bo. We're targets. Especially you. You know that. You have got to be as alert as possible every waking moment, and that means taking a break when you need one.
Bo: Hey, I grab enough sleep to get by, and there's no taking breaks until this killer's behind bars. I'm the acting police commander. I owe that much to Abe and Roman and all the other innocent people who've died.
Hope: Well, you know what?
Hope: Unless you slow down and stop playing superman, you're gonna wind up just like them -- dead and in a grave. And then where are we gonna be?
Victor: Go ahead, Nicole. Tell my grandson who you're talking to. He already thinks you're crazy as a loon. Now you'll just confirm it.
Nicole: I... I was just talking to myself. It gets so lonely in this big house. Even the servants all hate me. I don't have any friends. I mean, you're the only real friend I've ever had, Brady.
Victor: And you don't even have him, you pathetic loser!
Henderson: Your vodka, Madame.
Nicole: Oh, for God's sake, Henderson, the last thing I need is alcohol. I could really use a pot of tea. Or better yet, coffee -- good and strong. I have a mountain of paperwork to go through tonight.
Henderson: But you said that you --
Nicole: I said I'd like some coffee. Now go get it.
Henderson: As you wish.
Brady: Well, I can see that you're settling in nicely. Taking charge.
Nicole: Someone has to. I mean, this house can't run itself. And sorting through your grandfather's estate, well, I don't have to tell you what a job that's gonna be.
Brady: Nicole, I can help in any way that I can.
Nicole: I appreciate that, Brady. And Victor would, too.
Brady: In fact, Shawn gave me these papers from Mickey Horton.
Brady: To release the remaining funds for the concert hall.
Brady: I'm sure you're aware that Granddad was the major benefactor. And since he's no longer with us, Mickey’s going to need your signature to release the final endowment.
Nicole: So when the hall's completed, I guess Chloe will be coming back to Salem to be our own diva in residence.
Brady: That's the plan, yeah.
Nicole: I bet you think I don't even want to sign this, don't you?
Rex: Mimi, wait!
Mimi: Let me go!
Rex: No, not until you listen to me! Okay -- no. Come here. Listen. I'm not gonna let you give up on us. Without you, I'm nothing. I love you, Mimi, and I'm in love with you. I think I have been since the first day I saw you.
Mimi: Are you aware that you are standing smack underneath the mistletoe?
Rex: Uh, does that mean something?
Mimi: Yeah. This.
Mimi: What is this, rex?
Rex: It's a rough diamond.
Mimi: Rough? As in...before it's been, what, polished?
Rex: Before it's cut and shaped into a thing of beauty, like you.
Mimi: You mean I'm a diamond in the rough?
Rex: No. I'm trying to tell you that you're beautiful, Mimi.
Mimi: Rex, if you have feelings for me, you can just say it. You don't have to give me presents.
Rex: I want you to be part of my life.
Mimi: Just try and get rid of me.
Rex: Look, before you, I had no idea what love was. Not that kind, anyway. But you -- but you showed me. You opened my heart, and you made me a better person. I can't lose you, Mimi. I don't ever want to.
Mimi: But you just said --
Rex: I know, and it's true. I can't marry you now. But I promise, I'm gonna get it together, ok-- I'm gonna work real hard, I'm gonna set goals, and I'm gonna make something out of myself, or at least know that I have something solid to build on. You know, something we both can have for the future. And then I'm gonna come to you, and I'm gonna ask you to be my wife. And if by some miracle you'll still have me, if you'll wait for me -- will you, Mimi? Will you wait?
Mimi: Yes. Of course I will.
Shawn-D: What is it? Something's still bothering you. I can tell.
Marlena: Honey, if you tell Shawn the truth now, it might just take some time to regain that trust. Had you thought of that?
Belle: Well, I know he'll be upset, but he loves me.
Marlena: Yes, but he might also be very hurt that you hadn't felt comfortable telling him in the first place. Do you want to risk that?
Belle: It's nothing. I'm just really tired all of a sudden.
Shawn-D: Hey. I know you, okay? I know when something's bothering you. Is this about the thing you wanted to tell me before? Does it have to do with rex and Mimi? Listen... I know you're upset about what happened before. Mimi's your best friend. She got hurt, but... even though they're not engaged right now, I-I think it's for the best. Okay, how about this? When you and I get engaged, when I have to say those words, nothing in the world is going to keep me from saying "will you marry me?" All right?
Marlena: John, what is it? What's wrong?
John: My God, I was right. It was you in the graveyard when Doug was killed.
Marlena: What do you mean? We talked about that already. You agreed that it -- it was your imagination.
John: That was before.
Marlena: Before what?
John: Before tek hypnotized me. I saw your face, doc. There's no mistaking it.
Marlena: You are clearly mistaken, John. I was not in the graveyard last night. Look, look -- hypnosis is not exact science. The memory can become jumbled and confused. I hope you didn't tell tek what you thought you saw.
John: No. Doesn't matter anyway. He already suspects you.
Marlena: Tek suspects me... of being a murderer?
John: Of course, he's having a hard time getting anybody else to buy into that. I mean, why would they? It's crazy, right? I mean, a respected psychiatrist, good friend, loving mother, faithful wife... it's not possible that you could hurt anyone, is it, doc?
John: Why don't you say something?
Marlena: I'm in shock. John, look at how you're looking at me. You can't think that I'm a killer.
John: Where were you just now?
Marlena: Oh, where do you think I was?
John: No, you tell me. What, were you out killing?
Marlena: No, I wasn’t. I was with Belle. I just left her... in the park.
John: In the park.
Marlena: Yeah. What are you doing? Who are you calling?
John: Belle, it's your old man.
Belle: Hey, daddy. What's up?
John: Just checking in. Wanted to make sure you're all right.
Belle: I'm fine. Shawn's here. We're just hanging out.
John: I understand you were with your mother a little bit earlier.
Belle: Yeah. We had a nice talk.
John: Everything's all right?
Belle: Yeah, I told you, dad. What's going on?
John: Nothing, sweetheart. Like I said, just checking in. You know how your old man worries.
Belle: Yeah, I know.
John: All right. Listen, you just stick close to Shawn. I'll be in touch.
Marlena: There. Did my story check out?
John: So far.
Marlena: What is this? I'm your wife. How can you treat me like a -- like a common criminal?
John: I don't mean to, 'cause you're not a common criminal. You're a cold-blooded murderer, and I think it's time you confess. (Music throughout)
Bo: Hey. I hear what you're saying, and I appreciate your concern. But lives are at stake. People are looking to me to stop these murders. I'm not going to let them down.
Hope: Bo, I know you won’t. Please... can't you just do this one thing for me? Just stay home tonight, and I promise, I won't say anything more. I promise I -- I won't try to cook for you.
Bo: Ha ha ha. Okay, an hour.
Hope: An hour?
Bo: Yeah, an hour. That's good enough.
Hope: How about two hours? And I promise you, I'll, um... I'll throw in one of my famous shoulder and neck massages. Here, take this off.
Bo: All right. Two hours, but... don't let me fall asleep, okay?
Hope: I wouldn't dream of it.
Brady: Nicole, all I can say is I hope you do the right thing and you honour my grandfather's wishes.
Nicole: You realize this would involve taking a sizable chunk out of his estate.
Brady: It's what he wanted in memory of his daughter. My mother Isabella meant the world to him.
Nicole: Plus he knew what having Chloe come back to Salem would mean to you.
Brady: My happiness was very important to him as well.
Victor: Stop tormenting the man. Throw those papers in his face. Show him who you are.
Brady: Nicole, are -- are you going to sign the papers or not?
Nicole: I would, but...
Brady: But what?
Nicole: Well... fact is, I have Victor's other heirs to consider -- Bo, Philip, Shawn, and Justin.
Brady: They didn't have a problem with it when he was alive.
Nicole: Of course not. But now that Victor's gone, money is money, and I don't want to be responsible for any ill will between you and your family.
Brady: Or you just want to keep all the money for yourself.
Nicole: Why is it so hard to believe that I care about what happens to you?
Victor: Oh, here she goes. Don't fall for it, Brady.
Nicole: My God, Brady, you're the only one who stood by me while the rest of the world points fingers accusing me of killing Colin and Victor and who knows who else.
Victor: Which you did, you murdering tramp.
Nicole: Brady... you're the only one who gave me the benefit of the doubt, who insisted that I was innocent until proven guilty.
Brady: I still believe that. Yes.
Nicole: Here. It's done.
Brady: Nicole, thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me and to Granddad.
Nicole: Oh, this means more than you'll even know.
Brady: Look, don't worry about calling the others. I'll do that myself. I just have to contact Chloe. You know, she's in Munich right now. I got to tell her the good news.
Nicole: You do that. I'll bet she'll be thrilled.
Brady: Thank you again.
Victor: You devious little bitch.
Nicole: Oh, drop dead. Oh, wait, you already did. Ha.
Victor: What are you up to?
Nicole: I guess you'll just have to wait and see.
Victor: I won't let you tear my family apart.
Nicole: I won't have to. Your grandson's going to do it for me.
Mimi: I'm sorry for getting all crazy on you. I totally agree with you. We're not ready to get married. I guess I just got caught up in the -- in the whole fairy tale thing. Every little girl dreams of marrying her prince charming.
Rex: Well, I don't know about prince charming, but... someday that dream will come true. You believe that, right? That one day we'll get married?
Mimi: I believe in signs.
Rex: Signs? What are you talking about? Mistletoe?
Mimi: I know it's not Christmas, but it has to mean something. It was there on our very first kiss.
Rex: And it's here for this one right now. I will always love you, Mimi. Don't ever doubt that again.
Mimi: I won’t.
Brady: Chloe, hi, it's me. Look, I'm sorry. I know it's really early in Munich right now, but I have the most incredible news to share with you. Yeah, okay, you ready? The construction of the Isabella Toscana black concert hall is going ahead as planned. I know. Isn't that awesome? Just -- just think about it. Chloe, you're going to be home in Salem and singing on stage before you know it. I know. Isn't that great?
Victor: You've made them very happy. I only wish your gesture was sincere.
Nicole: Don't you have a sewer or an attic to haunt with your beloved Caroline Brady?
Victor: I'm warning you, Nicole, you hurt any member of my family, and I'll see you in hell.
Nicole: Bring it on, old man.
Victor: Don't worry. That's exactly what I intend to do.
Nicole: Ooh. Ha. Poor Brady. I've got news for you. Your precious Chloe is never coming home -- not ever.
Belle: My dad sounded so strange. He said he was just calling to check up on me. Then he started talking about my mom. I can't stand this anymore. Shawn, I do have something I need to tell you. It's about my mom -- a confession. I lied to you when I told you that I was with her when your grandpa Doug was murdered. The truth is... I didn't get to the penthouse until much later, so there's no way I could be her alibi. Shawn?
Hope: Even superman needs to sleep. I won't let the killer destroy the man I love or anyone else in my family. Whoever you are... I'm coming after you.
Marlena: This can't be happening.
John: Oh, it's happening.
Marlena: I don't believe what I'm hearing. You are standing there accusing me of being this monster? This is like a bad dream.
John: It's no dream. You're sick. And you need some help.
John: Admit it, damn it.
John: You killed Doug, Jack, Abe, Caroline, cassie, Roman, Tony. Why? Why did you do it, doc?! Why?!
Marlena: John. I'm sorry.
John: You're sorry?
Marlena: I love you. And if you believe that I could kill all those people, there's only one thing left for me to do.
“Next on Days Of Our Lives”
Julie: The best sex is always after a big fight.
Sami: I wouldn't know about that.
Lucas: She knows. She doesn't want to admit it, but she knows.
Marlena: What you suspect is true. I am the killer.
