Nicole: Okay, I got Victor's will and all the evidence he had against me out of the safe, and now we need to destroy it.
Jan: You know what you should do? You should put it in the fireplace and torch it.
Nicole: Uh, yeah, didn't I just say that a few minutes ago?
Jan: Oh, yeah. You did. Well, then, why don't you go grab the evidence and do it?
Nicole: Ahem. The last time I checked, which was about two minutes ago, Brady was still in the living room.
Jan: How are you going to do it, then?
Nicole: I'm not. You're going to do it for me.
[Cellular phone rings]
Brady: Yes, hello.
Shawn-D: Brady, hey, it's Shawn. Um, have you heard from Belle?
Brady: Uh, no. No, I haven’t. Shawn, why are you calling so late? Did something happen?
Shawn-D: Yeah, yeah. I'm afraid so. There's been another killing.
Brady: God, no. Who this time?
Shawn-D: My grandfather Doug.
Brady: Shawn, I'm so sorry. How'd it happen?
Shawn-D: He was stabbed to death in the church cemetery a little while ago.
Julie: Can -- can we cover him? He looks so cold.
Hope: Just as soon as they finish examining him, Julie. You know how much daddy hated the cold.
Bo: Hope... why don't you take Julie over to Mrs. H.'s?
Julie: No. I won't leave my husband. I won’t.
Bo: Celeste? Did you say anything to anyone about Doug?
John: Preferably to someone who's alive.
Celeste: No, I said nothing. I swear.
Julie: Oh, no.
Hope: Oh, no, what?
Julie: I did tell someone else.
Julie: I know. I've always talked too much.
Hope: Julie, who did you tell?
Celeste: John? You have a very distant look on your face, darling. Are you all right?
John: It's just the shock of another death, Celeste. Doug was such a wonderful, gentle man.
Celeste: Yes. So much pain and suffering. [Gasps] Aah!
Celeste: Oh, my God. You know who the killer is.
Belle: Mom, are you okay? You look like you're going to faint.
Marlena: Belle, the reason I'm... so obsessed, the reason I know about all those killings is because I did them. I'm the killer.
Jan: Wait. What am I going to do for you?
Nicole: You are going to get the will and the evidence that Victor had in his safe and destroy it.
Jan: I'm confused. I thought you already did that.
Nicole: Ahem. As I've already mentioned, Jan --
Jan: Oh, right, right, right. The -- the drill -- drill guy -- safe guy came.
Nicole: Yes, the locksmith.
Nicole: Damn it. The bastard cut me off without a penny. The video of Colin and me making love and proof that I murdered Murphy. I better destroy this.
Nicole: I got the evidence out of the safe, but I had to hide it in the sofa cushion on the couch, and you better pray to God that Brady hasn't found it yet.
Jan: Okay. Dear heavenly father, I pray that Brady hasn't found the evidence that we killed people. Oh, my God. We're going to hell, aren't we?
Nicole: We'll appeal. But we need to destroy the evidence first. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No more booze. No more booze. Come here, come here. Listen to me. Listen to me. We are in big trouble, and God isn't going to help us here. You are the only one who can get us out of it.
Brady: Shawn, I -- I don't get it, man. I mean, why would the serial killer go after Doug? It doesn't make any sense.
Shawn-D: I don't get it, either, and the most frustrating part is that this maniac was almost caught this time.
Brady: By whom?
Shawn-D: Your dad. He saw the killer and chased after her, but she got away.
Brady: Well, did he get a good look at her?
Shawn-D: No, damn it. He didn’t. He has no idea who it was.
Celeste: John, answer me. You know who the killer is.
John: No, I don’t.
Celeste: All right. I didn't mean to upset you. It's just that I got such a powerful vibration. You got to be careful, John. Don't go after her alone. She's deadly. And just like the black widow spider, darling, she won't hesitate to go after the people she loves.
Marlena: I did it. I'm the --
Belle: Mom? You all right? Um, I brought you some water and aspirin from my purse.
Marlena: Oh. Thanks. No, no, I -- I'm fine. I'm fine.
Doug: Help me, God! No! Aah! Aah, aah, aah, aah. Aah!
Belle: Mom, um, when I brought you the water, I heard you say something about the killer. Oh, my God. I know what's going on with you.
Nicole: If you don't get Victor's will and all the evidence out of the living room before Brady or the cops find it, we're going to fry, okay? We can't let anyone see the proof that I killed Colin Murphy.
Jan: Oh, my God. That's right. I forgot. You're a murderer...ess. I'm outta here.
Nicole: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Hey, hey. You're a killer, too. You murdered Victor. You electrocuted him in a bathtub, remember?
Jan: That wasn't a dream?
Nicole: No, it wasn't a dream. Jan, of all the lunatics in Salem, how did I get stuck with you?
Jan: Oh, uh, yeah, and your other choice to murder your husband was, uh, who?
Nicole: Okay, fine, you're right. Listen, Jan, focus for me, okay, huh? Come here. Focus. I will go downstairs, and I will get Brady out, and then you sneak in and get all the evidence and destroy it, okay? Burn it in the fire.
Jan: Okay, right. I got it. Where was the evidence again?
Brady: So, Shawn, does Belle know what happened?
Shawn-D: Well, I tried calling her, but there was no answer. She's probably sleeping. I don't know. I'll try her again.
Brady: Is there anything that I can do?
Shawn-D: No, Brady, my dad, my mom, lexie, tek, John -- they got everything covered.
Brady: Okay, well, Shawn, please call me if there is anything that I can do to help, okay?
Shawn-D: Yeah, yeah, I will.
Brady: What the hell are you still doing up?
Nicole: I couldn't sleep, and, uh, I'm cold, so I thought I'd come downstairs and build a fire.
Brady: Why didn't you just throw another quilt on yourself?
Nicole: Uh, I could have, but I thought a fire would be more cozy. Come on, help me, please, please, please, please.
Brady: Nicole, hang on. There's been some bad news, okay?
Nicole: Oh, great. What now?
Brady: The serial killer has struck again.
Nicole: Oh, really? Who'd I kill this time?
Brady: That's not funny.
Nicole: Sorry. Who was killed?
Brady: Shawn's grandfather Doug Williams.
Nicole: Oh, my God. That's horrible.
Shawn-D: Hey. Just talked to Brady. He hasn't heard from Belle. Tried her again, but she didn't answer on her cell phone or at the loft.
Bo: Well, it's late. I'm sure she's asleep.
Shawn-D: Yeah, yeah, you're probably right.
Bo: You know what? Why don't you do me a big favour? Get out of here for a little while. Do a coffee run, huh? It's going to be a late night.
Shawn-D: Sure, yeah. I'll just get coffees for everybody.
Shawn-D: All right.
Bo: Thanks, man.
Hope: I want to help. What can I do? Please.
Bo: Hey, don't you worry. We got it covered. The best thing for you to do right now is keep an eye on Julie.
John: I think we all know how vicious and soulless this killer is.
Celeste: As long as you know that if you confront her, John, your life is at stake.
John: If I confront the killer, she'll be the one that dies. Tek. Anything yet?
Tek: Well, we're still waiting for size and brand I.D. on the plaster cast of the boot imprint, and we're broadening the search perimeter to see if we can get some other evidence.
John: All right, sounds like you got things under control here. I'm going to go talk to doc, tell her about Doug before she reads it in the news. I'll check in later.
Tek: All right.
John: I don't even know what to say.
Julie: Say you'll find this murdering bitch that killed my darling.
John: I will... no matter who it is.
Belle: I am so sorry.
Marlena: Belle, you have nothing to be sorry for.
Belle: Well, I never should have started talking to you about the killer. I asked you to do a new profile, and that's what got you upset. You started to figure out how this strange maniac thought and felt, and it really got to you, didn't it?
Marlena: Honey, she's not a maniac. She's a woman with a very clear mission, and she has a very strong sense of self-preservation.
Belle: She's a monster.
Marlena: No -- no, I-I -- I don't think you'd feel that way if you understood her the way I do.
Belle: Don't tell me you're starting to feel sorry for her.
Marlena: No -- no, well -- well... maybe a bit. Oh, honey, she doesn't want to go on killing. She -- she doesn't want to do that. She just sometimes...
Belle: Sometimes what?
Marlena: Sometimes she feels she has no choice.
Nicole: This -- that's horrible. I mean, my God, think of the odds.
Brady: Nicole, what odds? What the hell are you talking about?
Nicole: Well, losing two grandfathers in one night? Poor Shawn -- how tragic.
Brady: Why are you so upset? You hated Victor. You barely knew Doug.
Nicole: Well, maybe it's getting to me. You know, I really need to build up that fire. Aah.
Brady: I don't think that's enough wood to burn the house down.
Nicole: Well, I'm cold.
Brady: Nicole, you need some newspaper to get that started. Here, let me help you.
Nicole: Brady, stop.
Shawn-D: Dad, find anything to I.D. the killer yet?
Bo: Well, the killer is getting sloppy. She left a boot print. It's just a matter of time before I nail her.
Julie: I hope she dies a horrible death, and I hope I get to see it.
Tek: Now, you're still certain about the weapon that was used?
Lexie: Mm-hmm. It was a long, thin instrument, dull blade. That's why the jagged wound.
Celeste: Be careful, John. Be very careful.
John: [Thinking] No, it can't be doc. It just can't be.
John: Hey, doc. What's wrong? Whatever it is, you know that you can tell me.
Marlena: Can I? Would you understand?
Brady: You asked me to help you, so I got the newspaper. You can't get a fire going with just big logs.
Nicole: I know. Just... I have to do this part myself. There. That's better.
Brady: Jeez, you know that's going to turn out bigger than the Salem U. pep rally bonfire.
Nicole: Well, I can't help it if hearing about all these murders has me chilled to the bone. Although, in a strange way, Doug Williams' murder couldn't have come at a better time.
Bo: Julie, this killer will be caught. That I promise you.
Julie: Bo, you've been saying that ever since the first murder. She just keeps outsmarting you every step of the way. How many people are going to have to die before you find her?
Bo: No one wants her caught more than I do.
Julie: Well, then, why don't you do it? Why?!
Hope: Bo's right. We will bring this killer to justice.
Lexie: Mom, mom, what's wrong? Are you having another premonition?
Celeste: I have a terrible feeling, darling, there will be more tragedy before this night is over.
John: Well, of course I'll understand. Just tell me what's wrong.
Belle: Hey, dad, I didn't hear you come in.
John: I'm surprised to see you, too, sweetheart. You know, Shawn thinks you're in bed, sound asleep.
Belle: I know. I wanted to come by and see mom, make sure she was okay.
John: Yeah, that's why I'm here.
Belle: So, by now you know that she's upset and it's all my fault. Can we go inside? It's really cold.
Marlena: Yeah. Yeah. It is not your fault. It is not your fault.
Belle: Yes, it is, mom. I made you talk about the serial killer. Hey, dad, did you hear what happened at Shawn’s loft tonight?
John: Yeah, yeah, Bo filled me in. I have no idea who was stabbed in Shawn’s bed or why the killer would go after Shawn in the first place.
Marlena: Did you, uh, call the hospital, see if there was someone with a stab wound?
John: Of course we did. No one was admitted.
Belle: I was so upset earlier. I couldn't sleep, and I know that Shawn still thinks mom is the killer. Though I can't imagine why he or anyone else would think that. I mean, mom was with us when Mr. Kiriakis was murdered.
John: I don't know, either, sweetheart. No one who knows your mother would ever believe it. It's inconceivable that she could be a murderer.
Belle: Mom and I were talking about it earlier, and she got so upset, she almost fainted.
John: How long have you been here?
Belle: Mm, I got here a little while ago. Mom was still awake when I arrived. She was upstairs doctoring a little cut she got on her hand.
John: How did this mud get on the floor?
Belle: Oh... I did that.
John: You sure it was you?
Belle: Yeah, dad, I saw it right after I came in the door. I know I tracked it in. Don't worry. You're not the culprit.
John: Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm sorry, I'm just, uh, thinking like a cop tonight, I guess. Sometimes I can't help myself. Yeah, your mind -- it kind of expands, and you start making something out of nothing.
Marlena: Why does having mud on the floor make you think like a cop?
John: I got bad news.
Belle: What happened?
John: Doug Williams was murdered tonight.
Brady: Nicole, how could you find anything good out of hope's father being murdered?
Nicole: I don't mean to sound ghoulish, Brady, but at least no one can accuse me of doing it. I was handcuffed to you when Victor was being killed, and then I was here the rest of the night, surrounded by cops -- some of whom are still outside -- while the serial killer was murdering Doug. Is that finally enough evidence to convince you that I'm innocent?
Brady: May I remind you that before my grandfather died, he told my father that if anything happened to him, look no further than you.
Nicole: My God. Not an ounce of proof to back it up, yet you still believe that I'm responsible for Victor's death.
Brady: Even though the accusation came from my grandfather -- no, you're right. There is no proof of your guilt.
Nicole: Thank you.
Brady: If only we could find that evidence that my grandfather claimed to have in his safe, then I would have reason to suspect you.
Nicole: You will never find that evidence, Brady. Never.
Hope: Julie, Bo has lost his mother, his father, his brother, and one of his best friends in life -- Abe carver. He wants to find this killer just as much as we do.
Julie: I know. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I lashed out at you, darling. Please forgive me.
Bo: It's okay. I understand.
Julie: But my darling husband is dead, and he knew who the killer was. And he didn't tell anyone, damn it. He didn't tell anyone. It's as though he died for nothing.
Tek: Your men found more blood evidence in the open grave. They think it's where Doug was initially attacked.
Bo: Excuse me.
Julie: Shawn, I want you to know how much your grandfather loved you. He loved you, and he was so proud of you and zack.
Shawn-D: I know. I know, grandma, and I know that grandpa's spirit is going to watch over and protect me and my little brother... just like great-grandpa tom watches over gran and you and my mom. I'm, uh, I'm going to go try Belle again, okay?
Julie: Oh, darling. Why didn't you tell us who the killer was? It doesn't seem like your father. It seems like he would've left us a message somehow.
Belle: Shawn's grandfather is dead? That's -- that's not possible.
John: I'm afraid it is, sweetheart.
Belle: It's gotta be why Shawn got that 911 call from his dad.
John: More than likely.
Belle: Dad, what happened?
John: Doug must've figured out who the killer was. We can only speculate that he must've confronted her and she killed him -- stabbed him to death.
Marlena: Oh... horrible. And she got away again?
John: Yeah. I chased her through the old cemetery, but I lost her in the mausoleum.
Belle: I need to call Shawn. I can't imagine what he's going through.
John: You'll find him at st. Luke's graveyard with the rest of his family.
Belle: The graveyard?
John: That's where Doug was killed.
Belle: I-I'm going over there right now.
John: No, you're not. I don't want you going out.
Marlena: It's okay. The killer won't strike again tonight, I'm sure of it.
John: How can you say that?
Marlena: I've done the profile on her. I-I understand what she does.
Belle: I love you, mom. I'm so sorry I upset you.
Marlena: No, no. It's okay. I'll be fine.
John: Keep your cell phone on, honey.
Belle: Oh, dad, I left my phone at the loft. My battery's charging. But if you need to get a hold of me, call Shawn’s phone.
John: You didn't seem terribly surprised to hear that Doug was murdered.
Marlena: I'm shocked. I'm just stunned. It is inconceivable to me that somebody would actually kill Doug.
John: He died because he knew the killer's identity. Did you go out tonight?
Marlena: Uh, yes, I, um, I stopped by Belle's to take her some cold remedy. And then -- then I came right home and I've been here all night. Why?
John: No reason. Just a little surprised, considering Julie told you tonight that Doug knew the killer's identity.
Marlena: Yes, she did. She did. I, uh, I met her at my office. She had no idea where Doug was, so I thought it best to just come back here and hope I got a call from someone.
John: You look a little pale. Are you all right?
Marlena: Uh, I think I'm coming down with something.
John: I love you, baby. I think you're the greatest person in this whole world.
John: Is there something you want to tell me?
Marlena: Yes... there is. Look, I-I think that you might've guessed this already. John... John... I'm the serial killer.
Brady: My, my, my, Nicole, that was a very interesting outburst. Why am I not going to find the evidence that my grandfather claimed to have on you?
... ... [Dialogue Missing] .... ...
Nicole: Maybe... he hated me enough to want to destroy my reputation, or maybe he wanted to see me in jail.
Brady: Maybe if he did you wouldn't go to jail.
Nicole: Well, then he was bluffing -- I don't know- to stick it to me one last time.
Brady: My grandfather was not bluffing or lieing.
Nicole: I don’t know, Brady. But isn’t about time someone started defending me? 'Cause I’m sick and tired of everyone accusing me of murder. The truth is I am totally innocent!
Jan: [Thinking] What a liar.
Brady: Now, do I feel stupid. I know where the will is. And the evidence. It's been right in front of me the entire time I can’t believe I didn't see it!
Hope: Did you find anything else?
Julie: I want to know.
Tek: Okay. We found blood in the bottom of the grave, which confirms our original suspicions that Doug had to have been pushed in. Or he didn't stay down all I know is, he was stabbed outside the church, and somehow he managed to make it all the way here and was too severely wound to survive
Bo: We’ll do more investigation, see if we can up with more clues.
Julie: Your father was killed tonight trying to protect the lives of the people he loved.
Hope: Just pray to God that daddy left a clue or that we find something that leads to the killer. I will not have my father die in vain.
BelIe: You think the killer will be caught soon?
Celeste: Yes, darling. unfortunately not soon enough to prevent more deaths.
Shawn-D: Dam it, Belle, where the hell are you?
Belle: I'm right here.
Shawn-D: I've been calling you for hours. Why haven't you picked up?
Belle: I'm sorry I left my cell phone at the loft dad told me about your grandfather.
Shawn-D: John told you the news?
Shawn-D: Were you at home or something, or did he come by to see Marlena.
Belle: No, I was at mom's.
Shawn-D: When did he get there? And how were you there?
Belle: I'm not sure exactly why are you asking me all these questions? Oh, my God, Shawn, here we go again. You think that my mom killed your grandfather?
John: No, no way, no way. It can't be you.
Marlena: God help me, John, I killed all those people.
John: Oh why? Why—Abe? Jack?
Marlena: You know what the truth is, it isn’t real important.
John: The hell it's not important! What are you talking about you murdered all those people? Our family and our friends? Caroline, cassie, Maggie, Roman, Doug? Y --you killed all these people? Why, was it because they figured out it was you?
Marlena: I had to!
John: You what?
Marlena: I had to John, please try to understand. I didn’t really have a choice. I couldn't get caught. I couldn't let Belle and Brady, our family and friends know that it was me. I-I had to protect myself so I could protect our family, our whole family.
John: That is insane. You are just -- you – oh, you need help
Marlena: I know I do. I know I need help. I want to get it. I want you to help me get it. John.. John I love you. I love you. I know you love me. I know you do. Please - please, I'll stop. I'll stop. I will, I promise. And I'll get the help that I need but you can't tell anybody. Honey, please, you can't go to the police. You can’t. No, please, don't -- don't -- don't let me go.
John: I cannot do that. Can't do that. Can’t let you get away with murder. Can't do it. I can't do that. I can’t do that, doc.
Marlena: I'm so sorry you feel that way.
Marlena: John. John...
Brady: Maybe not, but there was a will. Grandfather's lawyer was going to execute the damn thing. And Victor wouldn't destroy it without telling someone he changed his mind. That will is here.
Nicole: Okay, then what happened to it?
Brady: All I know is your husband put it in this safe. It’s floating around this house somewhere, and I'm gonna tear this place apart till I find it, starting with this room.
Julie: Bo, you do whatever you have to do. You make sure you catch this maniac before she kills again.
Bo: Exactly what I intend to do. If I get there first, she won’t live long enough to go to trial
Lexie: Mom, do you know how many more people will die to see the killer's caught?
Celeste: No darling, I don't know. Only who died already. All I know is there are people we love that are still in danger.
Shawn-D: I'm sorry, but my grandfather was brutally murdered tonight. And I know this is going to anger you to this but every woman in Salem is a suspect right now.
Belle: But some more than others, right, Shawn my mom loved Doug. She would never hurt him. I went to go see my mom tonight to get her to do a new profile on the killer.
Shawn-D: Why would you do that?
Belle: To prove that it could not be my mom.
Shawn-D: And how long were you with her?
Belle: I've been with my mom for about an hour and my dad saw me with her when he got there, so that proves that my mom couldn't do this. It proves my mom didn't kill Doug.
Shawn: Come here. Thank God. 'Cause I don't know what I would do if you were with the killer but you're right. She’s innocent. You're her alibi, and I trust you more than anyone in the world. I know you would never lie to me.
John: Doc? You all right?
Marlena: Yeah. Yeah. I'm just tired.
John: I love you, baby. I think you're the greatest person in this whole world. But I know Belle wasn't with you when Doug was murdered. Are you sure there isn't something you want to tell me right now?
Marlena: No. No. No. No. Nothing. Uh... no. Why do you keep looking at me like that?
“Next on Days Of Our Lives”
Hope: Did you really mean what you just said? That if you find the killer, you'll take the law into your own hands?
Shawn-D: You are being straight with me, right?
Marlena: You think that I'm the killer?
