Jennifer: What are you doing?
Nicole: What? Are you trying to screw up my life, you stupid twit? Why the hell didn't you get out of here when I told you to?
Jan: I just killed Shawn’s grandfather. I wanted Shawn to love me, but now, Shawn is going to hate me. Oh, my God, Shawn? Shawn?!
Nicole: Shut up. Shawn is not going to know. Nobody is. You keep it zipped, you got it?
Jan: But what about Shawn’s dad? What if he figures it out? And his mom? They're cops. Maybe if I tell them that you made me do it, that you forced me against my will, and that you took advantage of me --
Nicole: Listen, listen. One word like that to anyone, and I will find the most gruesome way for you to die. You got it?
John: I'm sorry, son.
Brady: Thanks, Dad. I just can't believe it, you know? My grandfather -- dead.
Marlena: Brady, if there's anything that I can do, please don't hesitate.
Brady: Thank you, Marlena. Thank you.
Bo: Yeah, as soon as possible. Where is he?
Brady: Upstairs in the tub. Dr. Carver's up there right now.
Bo: Establishing time of death, cause of death.
Brady: Apparently, a CD player fell into the water.
Hope: Oh, my God.
Belle: I'm so sorry, Brady. I know how much you loved your grandfather. I'm sorry, too, Shawn. I know Victor was your grandfather as well.
Shawn-D: We didn't spend much time together, so... it's not hitting me in the same way it did with grandma.
Hope: It's still another death, honey.
Shawn-D: It's another killing, Mom.
Hope: Come here.
Hope: Be right back.
Belle: Shawn, do you think this is another serial murder?
Shawn-D: I don't know. Maybe.
Belle: Because if it is, then it would prove that my mom is innocent, seeing as how she was with us the whole night. And if your grandfather's death proves that my mom is not the Salem stalker, well, then, it's just too bad it takes someone dying for you to believe in a woman you've known your whole life.
Marlena: Well, this is so sad for Brady, losing his grandfather like that. It must have been an accident. It certainly isn't the work of the serial killer.
John: Don't be so sure about that.
Marlena: Well, John, think about it. I mean, there's no motive. Why would the killer want to go after Victor?
John: I don't know. I can't get inside her head. I mean, she's killed so many people, and for what? All we know is she is a very twisted, sick, evil person. I'm going to make sure Brady’s all right. Hey, kid, I'm sorry. I know how rough this is on you, man.
Brady: I just wish there was something I could do, Dad.
John: Let me get one thing straight -- there is nothing you could have done.
Brady: Maybe if we got the handcuffs off sooner, you know?
John: How did you get those cuffs off?
Brady: I finally found a locksmith who figured it out. And that's just the thing, Dad -- he was letting us out of the handcuffs at the exact moment that Granddad died.
John: Now, how do you know that?
Brady: The lights were flickering. The power went out in the whole house. That must have been when it happened.
Bo: Go on.
Hope: Okay, thanks. Bo?
Hope: You might want to think about taking yourself off the investigation.
Bo: No. That is not going to happen. I'm going to get the answers. I'm going upstairs right now.
Hope: I really wish you wouldn’t.
Lexie: Bo... hi. I didn't know you were back in Salem. Uh, I'm sorry you had to come home to such horrible news about Victor.
Bo: What happened? How'd he die? Lexie... what was the cause of death? Do you think it was an accident, or was it homicide?
Bo: Come on, Lexie. Tell me how my father died. Was it the serial killer?
Lexie: After examining the body, it's very possible that Victor's death was due to accidental electrocution. However... Bo, at this point, I won't rule out murder. I'm speaking strictly as a doctor. You may discover evidence that points to homicide. I guess it all depends on whether you decide the CD player fell into the tub or was deliberately dropped in by someone.
Bo: Yeah. That someone's a serial killer.
Lexie: Very possibly.
Brady: Hey, Bo. I got to tell you that, um, I was the first one on the scene, and the bathroom door was locked from the inside. I had to go outside and climb up the trellis just to get in.
Bo: Maybe that's how the murderer got in. Killed Victor and climbed back out.
Brady: Yeah, but what about the alarm system?
Bo: What about it?
Brady: I had to turn it off just to climb up into the window. That rules out an intruder.
Hope: Yeah, an intruder would have tripped the alarm. That's true.
Lexie: Victor was a very smart man, but even smart people can make mistakes.
Hope: So it could have been a tragic accident.
Bo: Yeah. Or cold-blooded murder. I want to know who was in this house at the time of Victor's death.
Brady: Well, there was me and Nicole and -- look, Bo, before you get any ideas, Nicole was with me the entire time. We were literally handcuffed together. My dad can vouch for that.
John: It's a fact. They were inseparable.
Bo: Okay, you and Nicole. Who else?
Brady: Uh, Henderson, of course. The maid, the cook --
John: The locksmith, right?
Brady: Yes, the locksmith. He was getting Nicole and I out of the handcuffs at the time that Granddad died. He was with me and Nicole in the living room.
Bo: Where is the widow right now?
Brady: She's up in her room. She's pretty shocked by Granddad's death.
Bo: I'm sure she's all broken up. Excuse me.
John: You sure you can vouch for Nicole?
Brady: What the hell do you mean by that, Dad? Of course. You said it yourself. We were literally inseparable in those handcuffs, right up to the moment that Granddad died.
John: Mm-hmm. You wouldn't cover for her.
Brady: Not when it comes to my grandfather's death, Dad. Come on.
John: All right, if it wasn't an accident and it wasn't Nicole... who the hell was it?
Jan: I'm sorry, Mr. Kiriakis. I don't want to do this, but I have to. It's the only way I'll be able to get Shawn.
Jan: I'm so sorry, Shawn. But Nicole... she made me do it. I didn't want to. But you're still going to be with me, right, Shawn? Shawn, please? I need you so much.
Jennifer: Now, I thought the doctor told you to stay off your feet.
Patrick: Yeah, I was just, uh, trying to walk around a little, work through the pain.
Jennifer: Well, don’t. Come on over here and sit down and take a load off, really.
Patrick: You're being so nice to me.
Jennifer: Really, well, I think you're being very nice to me, considering I hit you with my car and landed you in the hospital.
Patrick: Well, I really appreciate you letting me stay here tonight.
Jennifer: Well, you're welcome. I mean, the room above the garage -- it's not fancy, but, you know, it has heat, and it has a bed. And after getting your wallet stolen at the hospital, I certainly couldn't let you out in the night in pain without any money. Oh, have your tea before it gets cold. Here you go. And the cookies -- my daughter and I made them so they're pretty darn good if I say so self.
Patrick: Oh, yeah? Do they cure back pain?
Jennifer: Well, they're not that good.
Patrick: Oh, no, they're great. You are being a wonderful hostess.
Jennifer: Well, thank you. My family -- the Horton family -- we were always taught to try to live by the golden rule.
Patrick: What's that, the whole "do unto others" bit?
Jennifer: Yeah. Yeah, and I think that's really important, you know. I have a daughter, so I really want to be a good example for her.
Patrick: Abby's a lucky girl having a mom like you.
Jennifer: Well, she doesn't always think so.
Patrick: Is this her?
Jennifer: Yeah. Yeah, I would love to introduce you, but like I said, she's at a sleepover tonight. And this here -- this is my husband.
Patrick: No way. This is him.
Jennifer: Yeah. Yeah, his name is Jack Deveraux.
Patrick: This is unbelievable. I mean, I had no idea that you were married to Jack Deveraux.
Jennifer: You knew him?
Patrick: Well, yeah, me and Jack -- total buddies.
Jennifer: I-I'm sorry. I am just -- I'm shocked. I don't ever remember Jack mentioning you. I mean, really, how did the two of you meet? Where did you meet?
Patrick: Well, we were both heavy into NASCAR racing.
Jennifer: Get out. Are you serious? I never once heard Jack talk about NASCAR racing.
Patrick: Well, he was sure into it that day, let me tell you. We were at the Indianapolis motor speedway. I never ran into Jack at another NASCAR race, but that one day we hung out, it was one of the best days of my life. Seriously.
Jennifer: Wow. Well, that's, um, that's really nice of you to say that.
Patrick: So, where is Jack? I can't wait to see him. What's wrong? Oh. You guys aren't together anymore. But, hey, it happens, you know? I just thought, from the photo, that may--
Jennifer: No, you're right. Jack and I -- we are not together anymore, but it's not what you think. Um, Jack died. He was -- he was murdered. I don't know if you've heard of the Salem serial killer, but Jack was the second victim.
Patrick: Oh, my God, Jennifer, I'm so sorry.
Bo: Hey, Ruiz. We got officers fanned out over the grounds. I need you to search this house, top to bottom, see if there's any indications of an intruder. Also, check out the security system, see if there's a way for someone to get around it. Check back with me.
Ruiz: Yes, commander. I'm sorry about your father, sir.
Hope: Hey, hey, hey, hey. I'm not sure this is such a great idea going in there.
Lexie: Yeah, I agree with hope. Bo, why put yourself through it?
Bo: The only way to find out what happened to my father is to go in there and investigate. And if someone killed him, we don't have time for sentimentality. We gotta hunt down our killer.
Brady: The police are here.
Brady: And my dad, Bo, hope, Shawn, my sister...
Nicole: Look, Brady, my husband just died. I need to be alone.
Brady: Nicole, you realize that there's a full-scale police investigation going on right now?
Nicole: Good. I hope they catch whoever did it.
Brady: And they're going to want to talk to you.
Nicole: Right now? I can't talk to the police like this. I have to change.
Brady: Nicole, who cares what you're wearing?
Nicole: Brady, I am Victor's widow. I have an image to maintain. [Whispers] Mayday. Hey. Where the hell did she go?
Shawn-D: This -- this is just something to consider, okay? The killer has not always been at the scene of the crime. Remember my grandmother? She was alone at St. Luke's in front of the altar praying when she just keeled over.
John: Caroline was poisoned. It's completely different.
Belle: Yeah, Shawn, I mean, your grandfather was electrocuted.
John: Right. All the other deaths we could trace the circumstances and come up with the killer's M.O. If Victor was murdered, that person had to be in the bathroom with him at the time of death.
Belle: In other words, Shawn -- and even you have to admit -- that means my mom's not guilty, seeing as how she was with us the entire night. So, go ahead. Just say it. My mom is not the Salem serial killer.
Marlena: Belle, I appreciate you trying to defend me, but Shawn is just trying to do the right thing.
Belle: But, Mom, Shawn is insane to accuse you.
Marlena: That isn't a word to toss around, okay? Now, you two young people are at the beginning of what I know you hope is going to be a lifelong relationship. And I don't want you, out of your concern for me, to lose what you and Shawn have together.
John: I think Belle can handle that on her own.
Marlena: Yes, of course she can. She is a mature young woman... who happens to be in love with a man who is suspicious of me. With good reason.
Marlena: Belle, if you look at the facts in isolation, you'll see what's going on. I mean, Shawn has every reason to suspect me. I'm not the slightest bit offended by it. Really. I'm not.
Belle: Shawn, look, we've both gotten terrible shocks tonight. I mean, your grandfather died, and I found out that the man I'm in love with thinks my mom's a murderer. You have to see how ridiculous this is. My mom wouldn't -- she couldn’t. Come on, tell me what you're thinking.
Shawn-D: I'm thinking I hope it was the serial killer that caused my grandfather to die, because that would mean there is no way it could be your mom.
Brady: [Scoffs] Shawn, have you completely lost your mind?
Bo: Where's that M.E.'S report?
Woman: It's right here, sir.
Hope: This isn't healthy, Lexie. Bo just saw Victor's dead body. How could he show no emotion? Bo, wait.
Bo: Forensics has something they want to show me.
Hope: Yeah, and you'll see it in just a minute. Please --
Bo: Hope --
Hope: Come here. You have to say goodbye.
Bo: I don't have time right now.
Hope: Bo, Victor was your father. Doesn't that entitle him to just a minute? Even if you can't find the words, just a moment to be with him at the end of his life.
Bo: I've judged you harshly over the years. Your high-handed way of living. I -- the money, mansions -- I just never related with that. But... Mom loved you, and you loved her. That much I know. She would want me to find out what happened to you... how you died -- if this was an accident, or... if someone set out to deliberately kill you. I will make this right. I will find whoever did this to you. That I promise.
Jan: I am gonna kill you for doing this to me.
Nicole: Ohh! You scared the life out of me. I thought you went out the window.
Jan: Believe me, I thought about it, even though I'm afraid of heights.
Nicole: Shut up! Shut up. Look, the cops are everywhere. Bo Brady is trying to prove that Victor's death was a homicide.
Jan: Oh, my God. Shawn's dad, he doesn't think I did it, does he? Because if he does, please tell me --
Nicole: Shut up! You keep it down, or you're going to blow everything!
[Knock on door]
Nicole: Who's there?
Ruiz: It's officer Ruiz, Mrs. Kiriakis. I've got to search your room.
Ruiz: Open the door, Mrs. Kiriakis.
Nicole: Coming. What's this about?
Ruiz: I've got to search the mansion, ma'am.
Nicole: Oh. Okay. Uh, you won't find anything in there but clothes and too many shoes. You know, it's terrible how much money I spend on shoes.
Nicole: Uh...ha. I hope you don't find anything embarrassing under there. You know, if someone killed my husband, I want to make sure they get what's coming to them.
Ruiz: Commander Bo Brady will do a complete investigation.
[Police radio chatter]
Ruiz: What was that noise?
Brady: Shawn, have you completely lost your mind? How the hell can you accuse Marlena of being a serial killer?
Shawn-D: All right, look, Brady, it's not like I want to believe it. I'm just saying, if you look at the evidence --
Brady: What freaking evidence are you talking about?!
Marlena: Brady! Salem is in the grip of terror right now, and everybody suspects everybody else. Just like the original days of the witch-hunt in Salem. The entire town was in hysteria.
John: That's why we got to keep our heads and work together if we're gonna bring this monster down. And we will. We're gonna prove who's guilty, we're gonna clear who's innocent. I'm gonna check in with Bo and hope.
Brady: You okay, Marlena? Let me get you some water.
Belle: Shawn, let's go outside on the terrace. I have something I'd like to say to you.
Jennifer: I... I just miss him so much. All the time.
Patrick: Life's just not fair.
Jennifer: No. No, it's not.
Patrick: I hung out with Jack for one day -- just one day -- but I could tell what sort of man he was -- decent, hard-working, and kind. Everybody's friend. It's just so sad that Jack's gone.
Jennifer: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
Patrick: Oh, no, don't be. You go ahead and cry, Jennifer.
Belle: I've tried to figure out where you're coming from, Shawn. My poor mother is even trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. But you know what? I finally figured out what you're trying to do. You want me to break up with you.
Shawn-D: I don't want to break up with you. How can you even think that? I love you, okay? That's what this is all about.
Belle: You're accusing my mom of being the serial killer because you love me? Shawn, do you have any idea how crazy that sounds?
Shawn-D: I just want to protect you, okay? So if there is even the smallest chance that your mother may be the murderer --
Belle: There isn't! My God, Shawn, I don't even know how to talk to you anymore!
Shawn-D: I just want to keep you out of danger!
Belle: By calling my mom some psycho freak killer? Keep it up, Shawn, and we won't have a relationship at all.
Brady: Marlena, it must be all those years of dealing with your whacked-out patients. Seriously, I don't think I'd be able to be as calm as you were just now with Shawn standing there accusing you of killing your friends and your loved ones. I mean, you couldn't deliberately hurt anyone, let alone do sick things. I can't even talk about it. It's that unbelievable.
Marlena: Well, Brady...
Brady: Marlena, you can't defend Shawn. He's suggesting that you killed Abe carver. Or Roman Brady. As if you could hurt these people, including Tony DiMera. You're just not that kind of person.
Marlena's voice: Do it. Kill her.
Brady: I'm sorry. Talking about it is probably making things worse. You okay?
Marlena: I should ask you that. I know how much you loved your grandfather.
Brady: Honestly, Marlena, it hasn't sunk in yet. You know, I'm just focusing on how it happened -- you know, was it an accident, or was my grandfather the latest victim of the Salem serial killer?
Marlena: Well, it was an accident.
Ruiz: I'm sorry about your loss, ma'am.
Nicole: Thank you. Okay, give me your hand. Give me your hand. Come on. Hurry up! Just come -- all right, you're fine. You're fine! Just --
Jan: Ahh! Oh, my God. Oh, my God. What am I gonna do? I can't believe I ever let you talk me into murdering Victor.
Nicole: Shh. Shh, shh! Keep it down!
Jan: I am not gonna get caught for something you made me do. If I go down, you're going down with me for conspiracy to commit murder!
John: How's it going?
Bo: Waiting for news from forensics. Want to check out the crime scene?
Lexie: Hope... you know, I am so glad that Bo has you. Your support is probably the only thing that's helping him do his job right now. So you let me know if either one of you needs anything, okay?
Hope: Thank you. Take care. Kiss Theo for me, okay?
Lexie: Okay. I will. Stay strong.
Hope: I'm not sure my support's going to be enough this time.
Bo: This was no accident. That I guarantee you.
Brady: Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I just -- can I have a minute alone with my grandfather, please?
Man: Yeah, sure.
Brady: I would have done anything to save you if I had the chance. You were larger than life to most people, Granddad. You were the great Victor Kiriakis. And they were scared of you, a lot of them. But you let me know the man behind the name. I'm going to miss you so much.
Shawn-D: We didn't -- we didn't share a lot, I know. I know, but we were family. And that's the bottom line. We were family. If it turns out that your death wasn't an accident, then my mom, my dad, and I are gonna find out who did this. We're gonna find her, and we are going to stop her. Because the killer is going to pay with her life. I don't care who she is.
Jan: You look real innocent in that cute little dress, but just remember, I know you're not.
Nicole: Oh, and you'd better remember to shut your mouth and stick with the program.
Jan: Why should I? What am I supposed to get out of this?
Jan: I just killed his grandfather.
Nicole: Yes, and he's downstairs right now.
Jan: Shawn's here?
Nicole: With Belle.
Jan: She's always hanging all over him like she owns him. You know what? Shawn is mine, and I am gonna go get him.
Nicole: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. There's no going after Shawn tonight. There are too many cops around, and if they find you, they might connect the dots and realize that you killed Victor, and then you'll never get your hands on Shawn.
Henderson: I'm sorry for your loss, Commander Brady.
Bo: And I'm sorry for yours.
Henderson: Mr. Kiriakis was a better man than most people knew. He gave millions to charity. Oh, dear. This is where he died.
Hope: Mr. Henderson, why don't you tell commander Brady what you just told me?
Henderson: About the CD player, yes. The staff had strict instructions to keep the unit plugged away from the tub. Mr. Kiriakis was very clear on that point.
Bo: Thank you, Henderson.
Henderson: Someone had to be here to drop the player in the tub.
Hope: I questioned the staff. . . Henderson was asleep in his room. The maid and the cook were in the kitchen having a late supper when the lights started flickering.
Bo: Are they reliable?
Henderson: Absolutely. They both came with impeccable references.
Bo: Thank you, Henderson.
Henderson: Again, I am so sorry.
Hope: Thank you.
Bo: So, Victor's death had to be premeditated.
Hope: So how did the killer get in...and then get out?
Jennifer: Hi there.
Lexie: Oh, good. I didn't wake you.
Jennifer: No, come on in.
Lexie: I'm not staying. I just wanted to make sure you were okay.
Jennifer: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine.
Lexie: Good. I guess I worry about my friends now more than I used to.
Jennifer: Yeah, me too. Are you okay?
Lexie: You mean other than pronouncing Victor Kiriakis dead in his own bathtub tonight?
Jennifer: Lexie! Oh, my gosh, that's awful. I mean, this is becoming routine for you.
Lexie: Yeah. Um, distract me. Where's the accident victim? Did he take you up on your offer to let him stay with you tonight?
Jennifer: Well, yeah. I mean, I couldn't let him wander off in the street. I hit him with my car, Lexie, and his wallet was stolen.
Lexie: Jennifer, it seems to me like he's bad news.
Jennifer: You know what? Actually, he's very nice. There's nothing to worry about, really.
Patrick: [Groaning] Thanks for making me feel so at home, Jennifer. Hey, doc.
Jennifer: All right, here, let me -- be careful. Let me just grab you a pillow. I better get another pillow. I don't know, maybe you'd be better lying down. What do you think, Lex? You're the expert.
Lexie: Patrick shouldn't get into any position that would hurt his back.
Patrick: Thanks, doc.
Lexie: Look, I've got to get going.
Jennifer: All right, Patrick, I'll grab you another pillow right after I walk Lexie out.
Patrick: No hurry.
Lexie: Jennifer, what you are doing is very risky. You don't know that man, and you're letting him spend the night?
Jennifer: Lexie, I told you that he is not staying in the house. He is staying in the apartment over the garage.
Lexie: Honey, between us, I'm not sure his back is really hurting him all that much.
Jennifer: Lexie! I hit him with my car. How can his back not be hurting? I love you, and I love that you're worrying about me, but I'm okay. I really am. I mean, in a way, Patrick is making me feel better. Do you know that he knew Jack?
Jennifer: Yes, I know, it's crazy. He met Jack when he was working on a race car story. Anyway, to make a long story short, he didn't know that Jack was dead, and I had to be the one to tell him.
Patrick: It's true what they say -- it's all in the timing.
Nicole's voice: Keep the freaking door locked, and don't let anyone in.
Jan: Why does Nicole always get to decide everything?
[Knock on door]
Shawn-D: Hey. Hey, it's me. Let me in.
Jan: I've got news for you, Nicole. I'm gonna get Shawn tonight.
Belle: Shawn, I'm really sorry about your grandfather.
Shawn-D: I didn't really know Victor. I only knew about him. Bad things, mostly. Suspicions that went back for generations. And now that he's gone, I have missed the chance to ever really know my own grandfather. Makes me want to hold on to the people I love even more.
Belle: If you're talking about me, I want to be with you, too, Shawn, but only if you say you think my mom's innocent. Shawn...
Shawn-D: I'm sorry. I can’t.
Marlena: Shawn is becoming a problem, and problems need to be eliminated.
Bo: Hey, Ruiz, what do you got?
Ruiz: Commander Brady, I've gone through the entire mansion. Sir, there's no one else in the house.
Bo: Any sign of forced entry?
Ruiz: No, sir. And the security system is still intact.
Bo: Okay, thanks. Check on the other officers, will you?
Ruiz: Yes, sir.
Bo: All right, how about this? The murderer electrocutes Victor, locks the bathroom door from inside, and climbs out the window.
Hope: But if there was a stranger in the house, one of the staff would have noticed, don't you think?
Bo: Ah! Damn it! All I know was Victor's death was not an accident. He was murdered.
Bo: Suspects -- that's a short list. A very short list.
John: I paid a visit to Victor earlier tonight, and he told me something in confidence. He believed that Nicole was the serial killer.
Hope: Oh, my God.
John: Not only that, he said that if anything suspicious happens to him, I believe his words were, "look no further than Nicole."
Nicole: Bo... hope, John, thank you for being here at this sad time.
Bo: We're not here to offer our condolences.
Nicole: Why? I'm Victor's widow.
Bo: My father's word is good enough for me. Nicole Kiriakis, you are under arrest for the murder of Victor Kiriakis. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be used in court as evidence against you.
“Next on Days Of Our Lives”
Bo: There's a message on my phone.
Hope: What is it?
Bo: It's from Victor.
Belle: This situation has already broken up my parents. And look at what it's doing to us.
Shawn-D: Are you saying we're breaking up?
Philip: The two of you wanted the old guy out of the picture so you could get it on!
John: You don't have any reason to feel guilty... do you?
