Jansen: I am the resurrection and the life, sayeth the lord. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Into your hands, O merciful savior, we commend your servant Bo Brady, acknowledge --
Hope: Father, excuse me. You mean Roman Brady. Bo is his brother. He's right here. Bo? Bo, where are you? Bo?!
Hope: [Gasps] Oh, God.
Bo: I made coffee -- extra strong. You okay?
Hope: I fell asleep.
Bo: Yeah. It's that midnight shift. You're exhausted.
Hope: I just had the most awful dream.
Bo: You want to tell me about it?
Hope: Just hold me.
Hope: Just hold me and never let me go.
Kate: I was only your wife for a matter of hours, but in those few precious hours, I was happier than I ever deserved to be.
Lucas: That's not true. That's not true. You and Roman deserved all the happiness you found and much more. What you didn't deserve is to have it be taken away.
Jansen: Mrs. Brady?
Kate: Yes, father.
Jansen: I thought you'd like to know your husband's brother will be presenting the American flag to Roman's next of kin. I presume that'll be you, unless, of course, you'd like him to present it to one of his children.
Sami: Of course it should go to his children. She's not even family, never mind his next of kin.
Lucas: Sami, how could you even say that?
Jansen: Samantha, Kate was Roman's wife.
Sami: Please, you are a priest. You know better. My father married my mother in this very church. They had two children together. That is a real marriage in every sense of the word. So in the eyes of God and in the eyes of the law, you are nothing to him, Kate. you never were, and you never will be.
Rex: A stone with their name and some dates on it. That's all that's left of a person's whole life. Caroline, CassŪe, now Roman -- that's all there is.
Mimi: That's not true.
Rex: No? Then what else is there?
Mimi: Well, for one thing, there's you. You're Carolineís grandson, Cassie's brother, and Roman's son.
Rex: Right. Roman's son. The person who was so proud to be nothing like him. I was a DiMera, descended from royalty, a long and noble line of murdering scum.
Mimi: Rex --
Rex: No, Mimi. I don't deserve to call myself Roman Bradyís son, and he sure as hell deserved a lot better than me.
John: Hi, sweetheart.
Belle: Is Mom here?
John: I haven't seen her.
Belle: Um, have you talked?
John: Not today, baby.
Shawn-D: I'm going to say hello to my aunt and grandfather.
John: Shawn... I'm sorry about your uncle, kid. He was a good man -- one of the best.
Shawn-D: Thanks, John. He thought the same of you.
John: Listen, Belle, about your mother --
Belle: Dad, there's something I need to talk to you about, and it's about the serial killer.
John: Yeah? What is it?
Belle: Tony came to see us yesterday.
John: He what?
Belle: No, well, he came to see Rex, but then Shawn, Mimi, and I -- we were just there. Anyway, he swore that he was innocent.
John: Yeah, I'll bet he did.
Belle: Dad, he thinks the serial killer is a woman.
John: Based on exactly what, some vague theory of Victor's? Let me tell you something, Belle -- there is no concrete proof to back up that idea. Victor's just grasping at straws.
Belle: You sound like you don't want to believe him.
John: It sounds like you do.
Belle: No. I just thought that if it --
John: That if it's true, then I'm innocent, right?
Belle: No, da--
John: Talk to me, Belle. Do you really think your father is a serial killer?
Marlena: It was you. You killed Roman... and now you've come for me.
Marlena: [Gasps] The eyes. The yellow eyes that I saw in the vision. The eyes of the killer. Aah!
Kate: One of the last things Roman asked me was to make peace with you, Sami, and I promised I would. And I'm going to do everything I possibly can to keep that promise, even though he's no longer here. He loved you very, very much, and he couldn't bear to think of you being angry with him. He believed in you. He never stopped, right up till the end. I'm sorry that I didn't get more time with your father, and I'm sorry that you didn't, either. And I mean that. And as much as I may want to, I can't hate you because you are part of Roman, as much as he is part of you. I canít.
Lucas: Mom. Mom, please, don't do this, okay?
Belle: No, da-- no. I never thought for one second that you were the serial killer. Neither did Mom.
John: I wouldn't be so sure. You see, she heard about Victor's theory.
Belle: That the killer's a woman.
John: Never even fazed her. I think what your mother needs right now is some time to herself, time to -- to work through what happened to Roman, and what we need to do is just be patient, just stick together as a family, and, most of all, just love each other.
Belle: I do love you, dad.
John: Ah, I love you, too. And no matter what happens, you are always going to be my baby girl. Samantha? Samantha?
Belle: Sami. I'm really sorry about your dad. If you want to talk, I'm here.
Sami: No. Oh, God, why? Why did you have to take my dad away? He never did anything to hurt anyone. Daddy, I need you so much.
Jennifer: I said a prayer for Roman, and I said one for me and Abby and the baby. That's not wrong, right? Even though we're at this funeral.
Alice: I said a prayer for you, too, dear.
Jennifer: Thanks, gram. You know, jack -- jack told me that this baby was a gift, gram... but it's so hard -- it's so hard to trust in anything anymore.
Alice: You must trust in the lord.
Jennifer: Gram, I do. I do, but I've already lost my husband. How could God possibly take this baby away from me? Or even worse, how could I?
Celeste: The evil is here.
Marlena: Where am I?
Roman: Don't be afraid.
Roman: I'm here, doc. I've come to take you home.
Celeste: [Gasps] Anthony!
Tony: Good God, Celeste, what are you doing here? I could have cut your head off! Who let you in?
Celeste: I let myself in.
Tony: Why? What do you want?
Celeste: Anthony, please. Look, you and I have a battle to fight. Our only hope is in working together. Now, I believe between the two of us, we might at last find the truth.
Marlena: Roman, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I hurt you.
Roman: Doc, wait. Before I take you, I have to know. Are you sure this is where you want to be?
Belle: I wonder where Mom is. She should definitely be here by now.
John: Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Look, why don't you give her a call?
Belle: I already did -- just before I got here, but she didn't answer her cell phone or at home.
John: I'm going over there.
Belle: Well, I'm going to go with you.
Bo: Hey, Pop.
Bo: Where's Kayla?
Shawn: Well, she was on her way, but then Stephanie got sick at the last minute, you know, so... she feels terrible about missing this.
Bo: Ah, she shouldnít. Kids come first. Roman would understand that.
Shawn: Yes, he would.
Hope: I'm so sorry, sweetie.
Kimberly: Thank you. Hey, are you okay? You look a little bit pale.
Hope: No, I'm fine. I'm just a little tired.
Kimberly: Yeah. I'm gonna go light a candle.
Shawn-D: I'll go with you.
Shawn: I should, um... I'll go with her, huh? And, uh... you be strong, son.
Bo: I will. You too, Pop.
Shawn: All right.
Bo: You sure you're okay?
Hope: I'm sorry. Sorry.
Bo: Hope, come on. It was just a dream.
Hope: I feel like there's no such thing as just a dream anymore.
Bo: It's gonna be okay. You'll be all right.
Kate: Oh, sweetie. I know you miss him, too, honey.
Will: He was gonna take me fishing over spring break. He said he knew a lake that had trout so big.
Kate: Oh... I know he was looking forward to that, too. You know, I'm just -- I'm just grateful that your Grandpa Roman married me before he died.
Sami: Your Grandpa Roman would still be alive if he hadn't --
Will: Hadn't what, Mom?
Sami: Nothing. I'm sorry, will. Come here. I need you with me right now. I need you so much.
Jansen: Are we ready to begin?
Shawn: Well, I'm not sure everyone's here.
Jansen: Well, if you're wondering about Mrs. Carver --
Shawn: Oh, I know, I know. She was called back to the hospital on an emergency. I just -- where's Marlena?
Mimi: What are you doing?
Rex: I'll just sit back here.
Mimi: What? No, you're Roman's son. You should be up there with your family. Come on. Sami, I just wanted to say how sorry I am about your dad.
Sami: Thank you, Mimi. What is he doing here?
Mimi: Rex is here for the same reason you are.
Sami: Oh, really? That's funny. He didn't want anything to do with my family while my dad was alive.
Rex: That's right, Sami, I didnít. And that was wrong. But if I had it to do all over again --
Sami: Well, you can't, because it's too late. So why don't you just get out of here?
Mimi: He's not going anywhere.
Sami: I said, get the hell out of here! My father wouldn't want you here! I don't want you here!
Lucas: Sami! Sami!
Shawn-D: Sami, take it easy! Take it easy, all right? This is your brother. All right? He's a Brady.
Shawn-D: He has every right to be here.
Sami: Shawn, how can you say that? I can't believe I'm hearing this.
Mimi: What's wrong, babe? Another one of your headaches?
Sami: Good. Good. Why don't you just get out of here, you freak of nature? I don't care what anyone says. You don't belong here.
Lucas: Stop it, please.
Shawn: Samantha Brady.
Sami: Grandpa, I --
Shawn: Don't "Grandpa" me. You think you are the only one allowed to love your father, to mourn him? Huh?
Sami: Rex didn't love daddy.
Shawn: Sit down and be quiet. I won't have you turning this day into a circus!
Sami: It already is.
Woman: I hope we're not too late!
Hope: Daddy. Oh, Daddy...Julie. Oh, my gosh, it's so good to see you.
Alice: My goodness, what a wonderful surprise.
Hope: I can't believe you're really here.
Doug: Oh, I missed you so much. I missed all of you.
Jennifer: When did you get in?
Doug: Just now. Came straight from the airport.
Julie: I'm so sorry that we couldn't be here sooner.
Doug: Yeah. When we heard the news about Roman, we just grabbed the next plane.
Julie: Shawn. Oh, Shawn, our deepest sympathy.
Shawn: Bless you.
Julie: And you too, Bo.
Julie: Sweetheart, I'm so sorry about jack. Our hearts go out to you and Abby.
Jennifer: Thank you. I'm so glad that you're here.
Julie: But a little bird told me that, uh, you do have some good news.
Jennifer: Uh, I am pregnant. I am. There was a problem with the ultrasound, and, um... it's probably not the time or place to talk about it.
Jansen: Perhaps we should get started.
Hope: Thanks, father.
Sami: Lucas, where's my mom? I don't see her.
Lucas: Did she say when she was gonna be here?
Sami: Of course, she did. And john was here earlier. Now he's gone. What is going on?
Jansen: In the name of the father, and the son, and the holy spirit. We are gathered here today to remember Commander Roman Brady.
Belle: I don't understand. Mom's car is in the garage. Where could she be?
John: Why don't you go and check? I don't think she wants to see me right now.
Bo: Roman was the best of the best, a true-life hero. And he was also my big brother. And I got to tell you, he was a hard act to follow. Every school year when we were growing up, when my teachers found out that I was his kid brother... well, they had very high expectations. I mean, Roman was a straight-a student, captain of the football team, the president of the student body -- all that kind of stuff. On top of it all, he remained a really nice guy. Try to live up to that. It was impossible. So, I didn't try. I rebelled. And needless to say, he and I butted heads -- a lot. Ma always knew that once we grew up, we'd be the best of friends, and she was right. Once I stopped being angry that everyone expected so much of me because of my brother, I started expecting more of myself. It became important to me to get his respect. I wanted him to be as proud of me as I was of him. And with his guidance and patience and sheer refusal to cut me any slack, I think I finally got there. Thanks, bro. But I will never be half the man that he was. We've all talked about how tragic it was that Roman died on his wedding night, but there's one small bit of comfort here. Roman died happy -- happier than I've seen him in a long time.
Celeste: I know you don't trust me, Anthony, any more than I trust you. But I must tell you what I've seen. A vision -- a very powerful premonition. Now, I don't understand it, but perhaps it will mean something to you.
Tony: I'm listening.
Celeste: In this vision, I found the killer's mask and I held it in my hand.
Tony: And then what?
Celeste: And then I saw eyes looking back at me -- fierce yellow eyes, like the eyes of a beast.
John: What's going on? Why'd you scream?
Belle: I-I thought she was dead.
John: Marlena, sweetheart, talk to me. You okay? Marlena?
Marlena: [Gasps] What are you doing here?
Belle: We were worried about you, Mom. Roman's funeral started, and you didn't even show up.
Marlena: Oh, my gosh, I must have overslept.
Belle: Mom, what happened to your nightgown?
Marlena: Ooh. Oh, uh, uh... uh, I was having a dream, and I guess I --
Belle: You -- you what? What were you dreaming about?
John: You were dreaming about Roman?
Marlena: Why did you bring me back?
John: Bring you back from where?
Marlena: Uh, uh... [Mumbling]
John: Are you all right?
Marlena: Yeah, look, I want to get changed, so you'll have to go, okay?
John: All right.
Belle: No! No, it is not all right! Why are you treating him like this? He loves you. He's just trying to help you through this. And I'm sorry, but I don't care about what Celeste said. Dad would never hurt you in a million years. Mom, please, don't tear our family apart over something that's not even true.
Bo: I love you, big brother. We all do. And we'll miss you.
Jansen: I would now like to invite Roman's wife to come forward and say a few words.
Sami: Where is she, Lucas?
Marlena: I-I hope I'm not too late to speak for Roman's children.
Jansen: Of course.
Marlena: Thank you.
Marlena: This is from, um, Eric. "Dear Mom, Sami and I were so young when we lost our father the first time. Growing up, we'd spend hours reliving what few memories we had, certain that we'd been robbed of the world's greatest dad. Then a miracle happened, and we got him back. Unbelievably, we discovered the ideal we had conjured as kids wasn't a fantasy at all, but the father we'd always imagined him to be. We were so happy that fate had returned him to our lives. Now it seems impossible we lost him again, this time forever. But we thank God for that second chance, the chance to create new memories that can never be taken away. We'll love you always, dad. You truly were the greatest." I for myself would just like to say, um... I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Roman. I wish things had turned out differently. But you will always remain alive in my heart.
Jansen: oh, God, to whom mercy and forgiveness belong, hear our prayers on behalf of your servant Roman, who you have taken out of this world. And because he put his hope and trust in you, command that he be carried safely home to heaven, and come to enjoy your eternal reward. We ask this through our lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
John: I'm sorry.
Lucas: Shh. It's okay.
Abby: Gram, will I ever not be sad?
Alice: Well, things will get better, darling.
Abby: That's what everyone keeps saying.
Alice: Because it's true.
Abby: No, it isnít. Things keep getting worse, great-gran.
Sami: Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Lucas: What? What, Sami?
Sami: It's not just my father's grave. It's my mother's, too.
Marlena: Oh... [Sobbing]
Tony: So what you are saying is that you think that this killer is a beastly creature.
Celeste: I don't know what the vision meant. The eyes, they glowed like -- I can't say where I've seen it, but I have, you know? Do you have any idea, Anthony, what it means?
Tony: Yes. I think I do.
John: How the hell did that happen? How'd your name get on that headstone?
Kate: Marlena, you remember. I asked you to give up the plot next to Roman, and you didn't seem to want to, so...
Sami: What, you went ahead and got her grave all ready for her?
Kate: No, no. I had no idea that your name was going to be on the stone. I'm sorry.
Marlena: No, I'm sorry. I never should have left this in your hands -- any of it.
John: Hold on.
Marlena: No, donít. Let me go.
Jansen: We take leave of our brother Roman and commit his body to the ground -- earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust -- in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life.
[Bugle playing "taps"]
Kate: Give it to Sami.
Bo: Damn it, couldn't someone else take this? It's a 911. I got to go.
Hope: Roman would understand. I'll come with you, Bo.
Bo: No, no. You and Shawn go over to the pub. Be there for Pop, okay?
Hope: All right. You'll join us later?
Bo: Yeah, I'll be there. I don't know how long it'll take. I have to pick up some files at the house.
Hope: Okay. We'll be waiting. Be careful.
Sami: [Sobbing] Mom, promise me I'm not going to lose you, too. Promise me that you won't die and leave me all alone.
Man: Commander Brady.
Bo: How the hell did you get in here?
Man: I'm sorry to hear about your brother. Surely you haven't forgotten who you're talking to.
Bo: What the hell do you want?
John: Don't run away from me, please. I just want to make sure that you're all right.
Marlena: Everything reminds me of... what I've lost... and what I have yet to lose.
John: You don't have to lose me.
Marlena: I don't want to, but I'm so scared.
Belle: What was that?
John: What in the hell was that?
Belle: Um, that sounded like a wild animal.
Doug: Now, you're not very far off, Belle.
Shawn-D: What? You mean you know what that is?
Julie: It's a surprise we brought back to Salem -- something we picked up in all our foreign travels. Want to take a walk, see what we got?
John: Come on.
Sami: Daddy, you know that I don't pray very much, but I did pray. I prayed so hard that we wouldn't have to be a family with Kate... and my prayer came true in the most horrible way. Please tell me that it's not my fault. Daddy, um... I miss you so much, and I'm sorry. Dad, I'm so sorry.
Hope: How are you doing? Are you okay?
Jennifer: Yeah, I'm okay. You know, it feels good just to be here at St. Lukeís. Where's Bo? Did he leave?
Hope: Yeah. He, uh, got called away. Police business.
Jennifer: He's going to be all right. I know he is. I know you're worried, but it doesn't do any good, does it?
Hope: Oh, God, let this be over soon. Let it be over soon.
Bo: I assume you didn't come here to offer your condolences, Agent Spector.
Russell: No, I didn't, Bo. Look, as you know, I've been recently made director of the I.S.A.
Bo: Why the hell are you here?
Russell: I'm here, Commander Brady, because someone you hold very dear to you is in danger, possibly facing death, and you're the only one who can help her.
Bo: Hope. Is it hope?
Tony: So you think perhaps that the eyes belong to a tiger?
Celeste: [Gasps] Anthony... that's -- that's just what it was. Where did you get those?
Tony: My Zen master -- he asked me to choose my enemy. This is what I received.
Celeste: Ah, yes. The tiger is one of the great predators of all time. It has much in common with our serial killer.
Tony: What you're saying is that this vision of yours may have been metaphorical.
Celeste: To assume that a tiger will be unleashed on the next victim -- it's hard to fathom. But one thing is for certain, Tony -- we have no time to waste. We must find the answers we seek, and soon, or someone else will die.
Belle: You didnít.
John: This is what you brought back?
Belle: This is the surprise?
Doug: A beautiful Bengal tiger.
Julie: A royal Bengal tiger.
ďNext on Days Of Our LivesĒ
Bonnie: Oh, you're so cute. Who's a good kitty? Who's a good kitty?
Tony: Why don't you get out of my face?
Shawn-D: I still think you're the one.
Tony: I want this killer caught just as much as you do.
Marlena: No, please -- leave me alone!
Woman: Bo, the Salem Stalker, I know who it is. I can only tell you, Bo -- only you.
