Mimi: I'm sorry, Brian. Say again? Oh, I miss you, too, big brother. I wish you could come home for the weekend. And I really want you to meet Rex. Mom? Up to her usual no-good -- guess where I am right now.

[Country music blaring]

Mimi: Nope. Not the Cheatin' Heart. I'm at home -- outside! That's how loud she has the music going. No, Connor's in the house, in his room. Poor little bro -- I don't know how he puts up with it. And each and every week, she comes up with some new potboiling scheme, waiting to explode in her face. Hmm? Her latest scam? Oh. She's trying to put the make on her employer Mickey Horton.

Bonnie: If it weren't for me, Mickey Horton, you would've never taken that DiMera case or the one million bucks he's paying you. Ooh, it's time for bon-bons to collect.

[Door slams]

Mimi: I knew it. You are scamming Mr. Horton.

Bo: How long is it going to take this judge to weigh the evidence?

Mickey: Your guess is as good as mine. Excuse me; I'm going to talk to District Attorney Chang here.

Hope: Bo. I want you to prepare yourself to accept the judge's ruling.

Bo: You felt you had to tell me that?

Hope: Do you really want her to report you to the commissioner? Is that what you want? Because that's exactly what's going to happen if you react badly again.

Bo: I don't really care. I never wanted the commander post in the first place. And if it wasn't for that bastard DiMera, Abe and Roman would still be alive.

Victor: I believe the murders were committed by a woman -- one with a cold heart and a brilliant mind.

Tony: You know, actually, I thought the same thing. But I think this lethal creature contains more than just a cold heart. She's soulless, with an unquenchable thirst for blood. Are you sure you have no idea who this woman might be?

Victor: Well, I certainly have my suspicions.

Tony: Hmm. Well, after what I've been through, caged like an animal, if you care to share your suspicions, I'm more than willing to offer every available man in the DiMera organization to help bring this femme fatale to her knees. And I guarantee there will be no blood on your hands.

Victor: Well, I'll certainly take that into consideration, Count DiMera.

Nicole: [Thinking] Up until now, Victor, I've looked the other way when it comes to your cruelty. But if you implicate me in these murders, so help you God.

Celeste: Yes, John. You will kill Marlena.

John: This is so insane.  My God, you believe her, don't you?

Marlena: John, so much has happened.

John: Yeah, I didn't kill Abe or Roman. I didn't kill anybody. For God's sakes, I was with Bo and Hope when we took down Tony. Marlena, you have to know I would never intentionally hurt you, let alone kill you. What can I do to change your mind?

Marlena: Nothing. You can't do anything.

Man: All rise. The Honourable Judge Karen Fitzpatrick presiding.

Judge: Please be seated. Having heard the evidence provided by District Attorney Chang and the other witnesses and experts, I'm now ready to rule on whether count Anthony DiMera will stand trial for the murder of Commander Roman Brady. Count DiMera, will you please rise?

Judge: If you would please approach the bench. I remind you, this is only a hearing to determine whether count DiMera will stand trial for the murder of Roman Brady. Based on the evidence received from the Salem Police Department, as well as the expert testimony of key witnesses including Dr. Marlena Evans, this court finds no justification to proceed against count DiMera at this time.

John: Oh, come on, he was running from the scene of the crime. He had a hooded sweatshirt on, for crying out loud! We found his weapon at the scene of the crime! It's an outrage!

Celeste: Oh, thank you, Roman and Abraham.

Bo: How could you do this, judge? How could you let him go?

Judge: Strange... I thought I just explained, but since you obviously weren't listening, I'll say it again, and perhaps this time, you can commit it to memory so I won't have to waste any more time. I am letting count DiMera go because you have no evidence. Now, if you'd like to present something that would stand up in a court of law, I will be happy to revisit this case.

Bo: He's a DiMera. What other evidence do you need?

Judge: Ah, now, that's intelligent. I'm sorry, Commander, but I can't arrest someone because of their last name, any more than I could arrest them because of their colour of skin or their religion or their political views. That's why we call this a free country, because we don't tolerate that kind of discrimination or any kind, for that matter.

Bo: So... you're going to let him walk, even though he's a killer.

Judge: I've had it with your disrespect for this court. I will be phoning Commissioner Gordon first thing in the morning to make certain that measures are taken against you.

Bo: Would you like his number?

Judge: Count DiMera, you are free to go. This court is adjourned.

Man: All rise.

John: This is no court.

Bo: I ought to talk to DiMera.

Hope: Uh, no, let's just, um, go outside and cool off, Bo. Come on, this way.

Victor: Well, congratulations.

Tony: I would appreciate your short list of suspects at your earliest convenience.

Victor: I'll be in touch soon, very soon.

Celeste: Um, Marlena, darling. Listen, if I've caused any problems between you and john --

Marlena: Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it.

Tony: Thank you for stepping forward on my behalf. Without your testimony, I'd surely be facing trial.

Marlena: If you owe thanks, it would be to Celeste. Excuse me.

Celeste: Uh, Marlena --

Tony: Celeste, do you know why she helped me? I mean, do you know why Marlena did that?

Marlena: John must've left.

Marlena: It's broken. Where are the stairs?

Marlena: Hello? Hello. Who's there? Somebody --

[Muffled screams]

Mimi: I knew you were up to no good. You are so busted. [Gasps] So that's how Nemo died.

Bonnie: What?

Mimi: Connor's goldfish. You asphyxiated him.

Bonnie: Oh, would you stop? That fish died a natural death.

Mimi: Really. Well, Mickey Horton’s wife did not die a natural death, and now you're taking advantage of him, which is the last thing he needs.

Bonnie: I am not taking advantage of him, Mimi. I am helping him.

Mimi: Helping him how?

Bonnie: Because of fast-thinking me, he landed the DiMera defence case, and that way, the Mickster is getting paid by the snazzy count one million clams to get him off the hook.

Mimi: That's kind of strange that Mickey would represent the man who may have killed his wife.

Bonnie: A person's innocent until proven guilty. How many times did little Miss Priss say that about her Rex?

Mimi: That's because I knew he was innocent.

Bonnie: Oh, please. Details, details.

Mimi: You going somewhere?

Bonnie: You bet. Straight to the DiMera vault to collect my money.

Mimi: Your money?

Bonnie: That's right, and I'm going to use that money to build my country and western bar in the place that used to be Tuscany.

Mimi: Oh, and what makes you think you're going to get your grubby little hands on Mickey’s cash?

Bonnie: Is that any way for a girl to talk to her mother?

Mimi: Is this any way for a mother to behave?

Bonnie: Oh, that's right. Mother's aren't supposed to have lives, are they? Oh, God forbid that a mother have hopes and dreams!

Mimi: Hopes and dreams to get her hands on some innocent old guy's money? That's called greed, Mom. And you are only going to make a fool out of yourself because Mr. Horton will donate his money to charity -- something that helps other people -- like his family's foundation.

Bonnie: I heard the Horton Foundation was putting on a circus for their benefit this year.

Mimi: What? Way to change the subject.

Bonnie: Oh, no, baby, it's totally on the subject. My point is, Mickey will not be donating anything to any foundation because Mickey’s portfolio isn't doing that well lately.

Mimi: How do you know about that?

Bonnie: Can you imagine that, a man like Mickey strapped for cash? It just goes to show you -- it happens to the best of us.

Mimi: Yeah, right. And some of us end up ripping off our own children.

Bonnie: I feel for the poor lonely soul holed up there at 1313 Mockingbird Lane, all by his lonesome, in that big comfy bed...

Mimi: What do you know about his... "big comfy bed"?

Bonnie: I had a sleepover.

Mimi: Oh... my God! You didn’t.

Bonnie: Oh, my God! I did. Ha ha ha ha!

Hope: Doesn't this feel good, being outdoors in the fresh air?

Bo: Hope, I appreciate your concern, but I got to get back to the station.

Hope: Bo, please, just let it go. Just for a little while.

Bo: I can't, hope. DiMera murdered my brother, and I guarantee you, he killed my mom and everyone else.

Hope: Not according to Celeste.

Bo: What?

Hope: Just listen, okay? Celeste saw Roman and Abe’s ghosts.

Bo: Oh, let's not do this --

Hope: They told her to urge Marlena to testify on Tony’s behalf.

Bo: Okay, my brother Roman -- excuse me, his ghost -- along with Abe’s ghost told Celeste that Tony DiMera isn't the Salem stalker.

Hope: Yes.

Bo: And when did this happen?

Hope: Earlier today.

Bo: Where?

Hope: In the courtroom...

Bo: Huh.

Hope: When you were on the stand being drilled by the D.A.

Bo: And you believe this is why Marlena testified?

Hope: After everything else that's happened, yeah, I'm inclined to believe it, Bo.

Bo: Yeah, well, I'll tell you what I believe. You're all nuts.

Nicole: Victor, victor. If you rat me out to Tony, it is all over. If Tony DiMera suspects that I'm the serial killer, he'll have me clipped without so much as a thought.

Victor: Well, you see, it didn't take you long to figure that out, did it?

Nicole: Hey, let go of me.

Victor: Not a chance. I need you back at the mansion.

Nicole: Why?

Victor: We have to plan a funeral.

Nicole: Whose?

Victor: Yours.

Tony: You seem rather nervous with me. You still don't believe I'm the killer, do you?

Celeste: No, Anthony, I never did.

Tony: Why not -- because you know that behind this big bad wolf exterior lies a kind and gentle heart?

Celeste: Anthony, on Halloween night when Maggie Horton was murdered, I came face to face with the killer, and I sensed extreme evil.

Tony: Oh, but you don't sense that in me.

Celeste: None of these murders are on your hands, no.

Tony: We go back such a long time. Well, after all, you are my sister's mother, and you were my father's companion and... lover.

Celeste: Anthony, that was a long time ago, you know?

Tony: Yes, so much has happened since then. I want to thank you for convincing Marlena to testify on my behalf.

Celeste: Yeah, well, you're thanking the wrong person, darling.

Tony: She said that you were responsible.

Celeste: Indirectly, yeah.

Tony: Well, then, who was?

Celeste: The ghost of Roman and Abraham.

Nicole: Let go.  You're hurting me. Why do you have to be so rough?

Victor: No worse than the pain you've inflicted on many members of my family and my friends.

Nicole: What is that supposed to mean?

Victor: I'm warning you, Nicole, you stay away from the men in my family.

Nicole: Oh, is that what all this domestic terrorism is about?

Victor: You think I'm terrorizing you?

Nicole: Hello! Where do I begin? Oh, I know, let's start with today when you accosted me in a public park and threatened to help me plan my own funeral. What the hell was that about?

Victor: That was the truth. In fact, you're sipping your last meal, even as we speak.

John: I'm sorry, doc, but I had no choice.

Marlena: [Muffled sobs]

Hope: Bo, something made Marlena change her mind about testifying.

Bo: Yeah, I'm supposed to believe it was a ghost? Give me a break.

Hope: Bo, your brother Roman -- his spirit -- came back to help all of us to finally make us feel safe. I find that comforting. I want to believe it's true. I would think that you would want that, too. I mean, God forbid something should happen to you, I'd want to think that you could come back to me if I really needed you. I want to believe with all my heart that we could still be together somehow, some way.

Bo: Hey, hey, hey. Nothing's going to happen to us.

Hope: I hope to God you're right. I hope to God you're right, Bo.

Bonnie: [Laughing]

Mimi: I can't believe you, Mom. You actually had the nerve to sleep with Mr. Horton and in the same bed that he recently shared with his dead wife? I mean, that... is just gross.

Bonnie: Ha ha ha. Relax. Nothing happened. I'm still pure.

Mimi: Hardly.

Bonnie: No? Well, since your father rarely touched me, I'm pretty darn close. Unless you count those little toys I bought off the Internet.

Mimi: Mother!

Bonnie: Samantha from "sex and the city" really helped me liberate my --

Mimi: [Gasps] Okay, too much information, Mom.

Bonnie: Oh, honey, please, please, please stop. Everything between Mickey and me is strictly platonic. For now.

Mimi: Then why did you stay the night at his place?

Bonnie: It was after that awful ordeal at Tuscany on New Year’s Eve when poor Roman Brady was killed. I didn't want to be alone, and Mickey was so kind and sweet, he invited me over. I mean, he -- he actually cares. Do you realize how special that is?

Mimi: Yes, I do.

Bonnie: Mm-hmm.

Mimi: I'm gonna grab a soda.

[Telephone rings]

Bonnie: Hello.

Mickey: Hey, Bonnie, it's Mickey, hey. How are you doing? Did you page me?

Bonnie: Well, yes, I did, hi!

Mickey: Is everything okay?

Bonnie: Oh, hunky-dory. Everything's perfect! How about you? How'd the hearing go?

Mickey: We won. Tony's not up for trial.

Bonnie: Yippee! Now, why am I not surprised? I seem to think we now have a million reasons to celebrate. I'll meet you at your house.

Mickey: No. No, wait. I have to stop by my mother’s.

Bonnie: Unh-unh, I am not taking "no" for an answer, Mr. Hotshot lawyer. See ya in a bit. Ha ha ha.

Mickey: B-bon-- Bonnie.

Bonnie: [Sighs] Ha ha ha.

Mimi: Who was that on the phone?

Bonnie: It was Mickey! He won his case! Ha ha ha ha!

Mimi: Well, then, that means that that the killer's still out there?

Bonnie: Oh, my God. Connor.

Mimi: What about him?

Bonnie: He's over at the van pelts playing football. I don't want him to walk home alone if that killer's still on the loose. Oh, man, I'd go pick him up if...

Mimi: If what?

Bonnie: If I didn't have such a terrible headache.

Mimi: I'll go get him. Stay away from Mr. Horton, Mom.

Bonnie: Fat chance, Meems. Ha ha ha. Whoo! If Anna Nicole smith can snare herself a rich old coot of a husband, so can I. Oh, shoot.

Tony: So, you spoke to Roman and Abe. Did they give you any messages for me? An apology, perhaps?

Celeste: You know, Anthony, I knew you wouldn't believe me.

Tony: Oh, no, no, no, no, please. I've spent years connecting to my inner self -- my centre, as you call it. And through my spirituality, I've been able to sharpen my intuitions. What I'm at odds with is why Roman and Abe would want to come to my defence.

Celeste: It's honest men like Abraham and Roman that provide the proper balance between this world and the next, Anthony.

Tony: Are you saying that because of these visits, you were able to convince Marlena?

Celeste: Yes, and it wasn't easy. But I believe that Abraham’s and Roman's presence and their influence is very strong. As much as Marlena tried to deny it, darling, she couldn’t.

Tony: Then I owe her one.

Celeste: I just hope that the Salem police department can stop this monster before it's too late, before he kills again.

Tony: You mean "she."

Celeste: What?

Tony: You said "he." Victor Kiriakis believes that the Salem stalker is a woman. I mean, have you had any intuition or cognition of this?

Celeste: No, no, I haven’t. But perhaps we should go to the police with victor's --

Tony: No, no, I don't want to hear about the Salem P.D. Let the killer worry about me. Hell hath no fury like the phoenix scorned.

Nicole: Are you trying to poison me?

Victor: [Chuckles] No, but that's not a bad idea. I should've had cook put some rat poison in that ridiculous protein shake that you drink.

Nicole: Go to hell.

Victor: Oh, you are going to be in that fiery pit long before I, my dear, especially when Tony DiMera gets through with you.

Nicole: Oh, right. That way, there won't be any blood on your hands.

Victor: Oh, so did you hear.

Nicole: I heard you conferring with Tony about how the Salem stalker is a woman. Let's see, how did the illustrious count put it -- a soulless lethal creature hell-bent on destruction, a woman with an unquenchable thirst for blood?

Victor: [Chuckles] Don't be too cross, Nicole. Little did Tony know he was describing you on a good day. Toast.

Nicole: To what?

Victor: To us. I can't say it's been fun, but it certainly has been interesting. Ha ha ha ha.

Nicole: What are you doing?

Victor: Well, since you're obviously not going to heed my advice to stay away from my son and my grandsons, I'm going to turn the matter over to Tony. Not only am I going to tell him that you killed Colin Murphy, but that you're the Salem stalker, as well.

Marlena: What are you doing?

John: What does it look like?

Marlena: No! Celeste was right. You're -- you're going to kill me.

Mimi: Connor, do not eat that whole carton of ice cream, and that doesn't mean leave one tablespoon at the bottom, either. I didn't listen when I was little. Why should he? Mom, we're home! Mom? That's strange. Did she go to work? Hmm.

Mimi: Mickey Horton called. Her bag's gone. Damn it, Mom! This whole thing is going to blow up in your face.

Bonnie: Oh, oh, oh.

Bonnie: Man, I sure could get used to living up here. Then again, this is the kitchen where Maggie -- no, can't think about that. Bon-bon, no, you, uh, you can't think about that if you want that million dollars and prime real estate to get your country-western bar started. You got to think positive. Okay. Uh, Oreos, soup... ooh, ooh... ooh! Ha ha ha. Kentucky's finest. You were one sweet angel, Maggie. But bulk-sized fat-free cheese and soy products just ain't cuttin' it. You'd want me to take care of the old boy, wouldn't ya? Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah.

[Door opens]

Mickey: Well... Bonnie?

Bonnie: Surprise, surprise. Ha ha ha!

Mickey: You didn't -- you didn't have to come up here.

Bonnie: Oh, why, sure, I did. We have to celebrate your victory, not to mention the fact that Tony DiMera paid you one million smackers, which is about what I need to get my country and western bar up and running.

Mickey: Let's see... I want to show you... this bonus.

Bonnie: Five hundred thou--

Bonnie: Oh, brother...

[Glass shatters; cat yowls]

Announcer: Hey, are you tired? Getting older by the minute?

Bonnie: Yes.

Announcer: Are your bills out of control?

Bonnie: You said it, brother. I'll be paying these off when I'm dead.

Announcer: If you answered "yes," then this song's for you.

“My heroes have always

been cowboys

and they still are

it seems sadly in search of

but one step in back of themselves

and their slow-movin' dreams

Bonnie: That's what I need -- a hero...

“cowboys are special

Bonnie: And money.

“With their own brand of misery

Mickey: I'll save ya, my sweet, uh, my sweet, uh...

Bonnie: Bonnie. Bonnie. My name's Bonnie.

Mickey: Right, sugar. And you're comin' with me to my secret ranch. We're going to drink malt liquor, and we're going to play keno all day long.

Bonnie: Are you serious? You want to take me with you?

Mickey: For sure. But there's something else -- something else I want first.

Bonnie: What is it, Mickey? Oh! Aah! Oh! Oh, oh, oh! Is that a roll of quarters in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

Mickey: My back, my back! My bac--

[Lowers his voice] Oh, I mean, huh, my back.

Mickey: Aah!

John: What's happening to us, doc? Don't you trust me at all anymore? I swore to you that I would never hurt you. And I won’t.

Marlena: Then what are you doing? Why did you kidnap me?

John: I couldn't think of any other way to get you to talk to me.

Marlena: I need you to untie my hands.

John: Of course.

Marlena: Aah! Aah!

John: I didn't mean to hurt you. Are you okay? I'm sorry. I deserved that. But you're forcing me to do this, and I had to come up with some creative way to reach you.

Marlena: Mercenary measures, scaring the hell out of me -- is that creative to you?

John: I just needed to get your attention.

Marlena: You've got my attention. Aah! I'm listening. What is it?

John: Even though Celeste said Roman came to her and told her that Tony was innocent, I'm not buying that for a second.

Marlena: Why not?

John: Because a DiMera is never innocent.

Marlena: No, but you can use DiMera-like tactics for this, right, is that it?

John: I didn't know what to do. I can't lose you. I can't stand it. You keep -- you keep pushing me away, doc. You're my life.

Marlena: I'm suffering. I feel so scared!

John: Of me.

Marlena: Yes. Of you. What if Celeste’s premonition comes true? What if you're going to kill me?

Mickey: [Muffled grunts] Bonnie.

Bonnie: Oh, man, Mr. Horton, Mickey, I'm so sorry. I-I don't know what came over me. I was just daydreaming --

Mickey: It's okay, it's okay. It's okay. No harm done.

Bonnie: Uh, so, how would you like a little bit of hot cocoa?

Mickey: Yes, that would be fine, thank you. Thank you. Sounds good.

Bonnie: So, I guess it's not every day that you would get, uh, such an important case that pays so well.

Mickey: No, no. That's for sure. I'm going to donate the $500,000 check to the Horton Foundation.

[Clears throat]

Bonnie: That's, uh, how very generous of you.

Mickey: Thank you.

Bonnie: There you go.

Mickey: Mmm. Hits the spot. What's -- what's in there?

Bonnie: It's a special recipe from Kentucky.

Mickey: Kentucky.

Bonnie: Yeah, so, here is to winning a very important case and to... our future.

Mickey: Uh... here, here.

Bonnie: Now we're talking! Ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha!

Mickey: You're a winner, Bonnie! You're a winner!

Bonnie: Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

Bonnie: [Giggles]

Bo: I should get back to work.

Hope: Bo, relax. Zack is still at daycare. We have the whole house to ourselves.

Bo: Yeah, but the station -- they need me.

Hope: Shh, shh, shh. I've already spoken to Tek, and everything is under control. Now, I am going to go into the kitchen and fix something to eat, something that is edible. I want you to take your jacket off, take off your shoes, sit back, and relax. I'll be back. Just breathe.

Bo: Come on, big brother. You talked to Celeste. Talk to me. Tell me who your killer is. Tell me who took your life.

John: I promise you, baby, there is just no way that I could ever kill you. It's just -- it's not possible.

Marlena: John, I'm desperate to believe that. Nothing is ever going to be the same. This killer has destroyed our lives. He's not just killing our loved ones, but he's destroying my faith in you, my belief in this marriage. Oh, God, I hate this! I hate this.

John: There's been a lot of pain, unbearable pain, and now with Roman's death, I know you're having a hard time accepting the fact that he's gone, doc.

Marlena: Oh... life... life without Roman...  That's unimaginable to me. He was my husband, he was my friend, he was the father of my children. And Caroline... she was just like a mother to me and to you. Maggie, Maggie... oh, Maggie... she and Mickey loved each other. They were so devoted after so many years. They were just so bonded together.

John: So are we. That's why we're going to get through this. That's why Celeste’s premonition is not going to destroy this love.

Marlena: I want to believe that, but I'm so scared. I'm so scared. I'm scared to have patients. I'm scared to be alone. I'm scared of the dark. I'm scared of everything. I'm so scared! [Sobbing] Oh... john... who is this killer? What is he doing to us?

John: Victor thinks it's a woman.

Marlena: A woman?

John: A woman.

Marlena: Who?

John: The only suspects we have are Kate and Sami...

Marlena: Nicole?

John: Nicole.

Nicole: You can't turn me over to Tony.

Victor: Give me one good reason why not.

Nicole: That's right, victor. The staff is off, Brady is out. It's just you and me, baby. Pick up that phone and you'll be whispering sweet nothings to Caroline Brady before you know it.

Celeste: Anthony, you sound as if you're serious about catching this serial killer.

Tony: Why wouldn't I? This bastard has murdered -- brutally murdered -- six innocent people.

Celeste: And could very well add you to the list.

Tony: You know, I've had the privilege of studying with this ancient brilliant Japanese master -- Hanso Hatori -- outside a little village in Osaka.

Celeste: And what did Mr. Hatori teach you?

Tony: A very valuable lesson.

[Speaks Japanese]

Celeste: Mm. Well, Mr. Hatori was right. Even the Salem stalker will eventually make a mistake.

Tony: Yes. And when she does, I'll be there to collect her head.

Victor: You don't have the nerve to shoot me, Nicole.

Nicole: Don't I?

Victor: Put the gun down.

Nicole: I'm warning you, victor, hang up the phone.

“Next On Days Of Our Lives”

Tony: The charges have been dropped.

Rex: By the judge, maybe, but not by me.

Shawn-D: Let him go!

Tony: Don't even try it.

Marlena: What's your vision?

Celeste: I saw eyes.

Nicole: Promise you won't breathe a word? Victor killed Colin Murphy in cold blood on our wedding day.

Tony: Let's see who's the master and who's the student.
