Days of Our Lives Transcript Thursday 2/20/03--Canada; 2/21/03--USA
Tony: Marlena, john. I'm surprised you're not sound asleep.
John: Asleep? How is one supposed to sleep around here with all the pounding in the tower room?
Tony: Oh, I'm sorry about the disturbance. I had some workers ferried in from another island. I just wanted to start immediately on some changes.
Marlena: Changes? What kind of changes?
Tony: Oh, just some changes that would certainly help in my plan to dislodge your buried memories. But since you are up and about, there's no need to wait for morning, is there? If my little plan proves successful, by the end of the night you should remember everything.
Victor: Nobody's going to believe that I killed colin.
Victor: And even if I were accused, don't forget, a wife can't be forced to testify against her husband.
Nicole: That works both ways, dearest.
Victor: Well, thank you for pointing out an excellent reason why we should stay together... till death do us part.
[ Door closes ]
Victor: I'm sorry. Did I startle you?
Nicole: You could have knocked.
Victor: A husband shouldn't have to.
Nicole: I thought you weren't speaking to me. You managed to ignore me all evening.
Victor: I was deep in thought.
Nicole: About us?
Victor: You. You and I need to come to a little understanding.
Nicole: Victor, you're hurting me.
Victor: You've been a very naughty girl, mrs. Kiriakis. You didn't really think you were going to get away with it, did you?
Craig: Bo, what's going on?
Bo: He passed out. I don't know what's wrong with him.
Craig: What do we have?
Man: Pupils fixed and dilated. Rapid shallow breathing. Pulse -- 105. B.P. -- 156 over 94.
Craig: Sounds like a drug reaction.
Bo: Drug reaction?
Craig: Yeah, come on, let's get him in cubicle 2. Bo, I want you to wait out here while I examine him, and I'll be back with anything I got.
Bo: But he's -- he's never --
Roman: Bo, it's going to be okay.
Bo: I got to call hope and tell her what's going on.
[ Rings ]
[ Ring ]
Larry: Don't you just hate those nuisance calls? Sorry about the mess, but I really don't want any interruptions. Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives. With a ton of snow falling, its a good time to skip town? @ Finding a gel that makes your hair look great for a while is easy.
John: Mm, no way. Nope. We're not going to do this.
Tony: But we agreed.
John: Yeah, well, I've changed my mind. My wife's not going to be a part of any dimera experiment.
Marlena: John --
John: She still hasn't recovered from the last one.
Tony: There will be no recovery from this. This is just an attempt to help her remember some past events, to unlock some memories, and if we are not successful, the worst she's going to feel is frustration, and at best, she will be utterly relieved. I have no plan to kidnap marlena or to experiment on her in any way. If she and I are going to have any kind of relationship in the future, it's going to be on her terms as well as mine.
John: So what kind of relationship are you talking about?
Tony: Oh, for heaven's sake. Just calm down about this. Marlena and I are just friends.
Tony: Marlena... if my father did imprison you here, he was a fool. He could have controlled you physically, but there's no way he could have controlled your spirit. In this part of the world, you cat t strong-arm a woman into s submission to take away her respect, her kindness. That's the kind of thing you've got to earn.
John: All right, knock it off. What is your point?
Tony: My point is he made a lot of mistakes. I'm just trying my damnedest to assure you both... I'm not my father.
Nicole: There was a time when you liked naughty.
Victor: I still do -- on my terms.
Nicole: Yes. Let there be no other terms than those of victor kiriakis.
Victor: You have a problem with that?
Nicole: Am I allowed to?
Nicole: Then why bother to ask?
Victor: Very good, nicole. You're getting very adept at verbal sparring.
Nicole: Is that why you came here, to spar?
Victor: Not verbally, no.
Nicole: How else?
Victor: You're full of questions.
Nicole: And what are you full of?
Victor: There's another one.
Nicole: I don't really feel up to this, victor, so if you'll excuse me...
Victor: No, I won'T.
Nicole: What is up with you tonight?
Victor: Now, that's your last question. From now on, you just listen.
Nicole: I hate it when you're like this.
Victor: Well, get used to it.
Nicole: Like he.. I have some rights here. I don't have to put up with all this cryptic crap. If you've got something to say, say it and get out.
Nicole: Whas s that?
Victor: It's a belated wedding gift. I've been waiting for just the right time to give it to you. Go ahead. Open it.
Bo: Hey, hope. Thought you were staying in. Give me a call on my cell as soon as you get this message. I knew something was wrong with shawn, that he wasn't himself, but... with larry on the loose, I just figured that he was stressed about his mom, he was concerned --
Rex: Is he going to be okay?
Cassie: This is all your fault. You kept bullying him and pressuring him about colin's murder until he just couldn't take it anymore. That is why he collapsed.
Roman: Yeah, cassie, and before he did, you said something to shawn that led me to believe you know wt happened.
Cassie: I don't kno what you're talking about.
Roman: I think you do.
Rex: Hey, you leave her alone, all right? I won't let you treat my sister this way.
Roman: Why'd you bring her down to the station, rex? What'd you want her to tell us?
Rex: You know, I thought the police were supposed to be heroes, catching bad guys, not bullying innocent people.
Roman: Shawn and cassie know something about colin's murder. It's my job to find out what their little secret is.
Hope: This time, I thought I was hallucinating.
Larry: Sometimes you were.
[ Laughs ] That's where I got my brilliant idea to play a little trick on you, and now I've got you right where I want you.
Hope: How'd you get in here, welch?
Larry: Whoa, steady. Steady. Good. It's finally kicking in.
Hope: What's kicking in?
Larry: Carbon monoxide -- odorless, colorless, but oh, so deadly. It's been leaking into this house for quite some time.
Hope: Oh, my god. That's why we were all getting so sick.
Larry: Ha ha ha h give the little lady a kewpie doll. You know, you've been acting too feisty lately, doing all this taking-control-of-your-life stuff, as you put it, so I decided to do a little pre-emptive strike, and now, you're putty in my hands.
Hope: What are you going to do with me, welch?
Larry: I thought you'd never ask. Let's see. Where shall I start? Hmm. Kelly. Youwant that danish?
John: [ Laughs ] You know, I can see how some people would be impressed by your line of bull. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.
Tony: Well, fine, leave. Go home.
John: You took the words right out of my mouth.
Tony: By all means, let me show you the door.
John: Please do.
Marlena: Stop it, both of you, please. I can't take any more of this.
John: Hey, hold on. Where are you going? Come on.
M marlena: Out for a walk.
John: All right, I'm coming with you.
Marlena: No, you're not. Neither one of you are coming with me. I just need to be alone.
Roman: All right, cassie, come on, talk to me.
Cassie: You want to arrest me, go ahead. I'm not telling you anything.
Bo: Craig, how's he doing?
Craig: He's okay. He's going to be fine.
Bo: Thank god.
Craig: Listen, we're doing the blood work. We'll get some answers soon, but, uh, I found this in his pocket.
Bo: That's hope's prescription.
Craig: It was empty. Do you know how many she took?
Bo: Just a couple, and then she threw this out.
Craig: Well, I'm afraid, uh, shawn's been self-medicating. Excuse me.
Roman: Craig, is he awake, coherent?
Craig: Yeah, yeah.
Roman: All right.
Bo: Roman, where are you going?
Roman: Bo, we got to get some answers.
Bo: I'll talk to my son.
Bo: Hey, shawn. Hey. Isn't there anything you can give him?
Woman: Not till we know what he's been taking.
Bo: It was the stuff in this bottle.
Woman: Dr. Wesley doesn't think so. That medicine could not have caused these symptoms.
Bo: Shh, shh, shh, shh.
Larry: We're finally going to take that trip, you and I -- the one that I had planned for you last time.
Hope: I can't remember what island you told me about.
Larry: She remembered. I'm so touched. Do you also remember what I said would happen to you once we got there?
He:E: That I'd be your slave.
Larry: Yes, and you'd spend the rest of your life waiting on me hand and foot, begging for every morsel of food, every drop of water, and servicing my every need... and desire.
Larry: Miss black in the living room with a vase? I don't think so. I couldn't believe any toothpaste could get my teeth whiter.
John: Marlena's gone. We can stop pretending to be civil.
Tony: Ha ha. Civil.
John: You find thatmumusing?
Tony: Do you really think that your behavior towards me has been civil? Insulting me, threatening me, and in my own house?
John: Ha ha. I guess. Fencing foils. Civility. Ha ha. Kind of reminds me of a time years ago when people would settle their conflicts through dueling. Seems a hell of a lot more civilized.
Tony: In a way, I suppose.
John: You think? Hmm.
John: Well, what do you say you and i settle ouronflict right here and now?
Tony: Ha ha. Don't be ridiculous.
John: Ha ha ha.
Tony: No. I'm not interested in fighting you.
John: Oh, of course not. We're not going to fight. We're going to play around a little bit. A little sport, a little exercise.
Tony: If you wanted to exercise, why don't you go up on the second floor? There's a gym up there. That way, you won't be cut to ribbons under --
John: Yeah, I know. I was up there at your gym. It's not the same. You can't get the adrenaline flowing, you know what I mean? Oh, come on. This is your sport. You're not worried about looking bad, are you?
Tony: Oh, no. I'm only worried that you're losing your mind. But since you are so eager...
Tony: En garde.
[ Waves crashing ]
[ Baby crying ]
Marlena: Where are you?
[ Crying continues ]
Rex: I'm sorry, cassie. You know, I thought having you go to the police was the right thing to do. I mean, they should have treated you nicely, you know, like a hero. But instead, captain brady acted like you were some kind of criminal.
Cassie: Thank you for protecting me.
Rex: You're my sister, and families protect each other, no matter what.
Shawn-d: [ Gasping breaths ]
Bo: Shawn... what were you taking? Come on. You got to tell me.
Shawn-d: I took the pills that were in the bottle, the ones that -- the ones that marlena gave to mom to help her calm down, but -- they've only made me worse.
Bo: Why'd you feel you had to take pills at all?
Shawn-d: To deal with the stress of -- of -- of larry welch and --
Bo: And what? Shawn, why did you feel you had to drug yourself?
Shawn-d: They're not -- they're not -- they're not drugs, okay? They're medicine.
Bo: It's not med-- shawn, this isn't a game.
Shawn-d: Just -- just --
B w we've talked about this a lot. All you've ever said is that you feel sorry for kids who resort to drugs, who don't value their lives enough to take care of themselves, and that the last thing you want to take a chance with is your mind, and that even alcohol -- that kind of loss of control is not something you're interested in, so -- why now? What is so different right now, shawn?
Shawn-d: I need some water. Can you get me some water? Get me some water.
Bo: Shawn, come on. Tell me. Why'd you take the pills?
Shawn-d: Don't make me do this.
Bo: Shawn, it's okay. Whatever it is, we can make it through.
Shawn-d: We can'T. We can'T.
Bo: Yes, we can. I'm your father. I love you. We can make it through this. Just tell me, talk to me.
Shawn-d: I killed colin.
Roman: Oh, my god.
Victor: I'm waiting.
Nicole: For what?
Victor: For you to admit that it's true. Don't lie to me, nicole. Are the facts in this document true or false? This is your last chance, and I suggest that you take it. Otherwise, I'm going to turn this file over to the press, and you can deal with the fallout on your own.
Nicole: You wouldn'T.
Victor: True or false?
Nicole: True. True, damn it.
Larry: You see, I saw you go into the house, miss black, and I knew you would surface eventually. Deep breaths, hope. Deep breaths. No, no, just stop fighting it. Okay. Suck in that carbon monoxide. And when you did eventually pop up, I knew I'd have to deal with you. But, you see, every plan always leaves room for the unexpected, and I am a master at improvisation.
[ Laughing ]
Hope: If you fire that gun, a dozen police offers -- they'll be in here so quick.
Larry: Hmm, yeah. Well, but by then, you'll be dead. You're pretty useless already, actually. And since I'm going to need an assist to make my getaway...
Larry: I'm not going to shoot you, miss black -- at least, not yet. No, you know, there is a box of nails and a hammer over there. You know what I want you to do? I want you to go over there, and I want you to close all the shades, and then I want you to nail all those windows shut. You get me? Now. Go. Just go.
Belle: No! I am not going to help you.
Larry: Oh, no? Okay, well, enen, if you're not going to do it to save yourself, then how about to save your... boyfriend's mother?
Belle: You're not going to kill her. Then you can't take her to that island you were talking about and make her your slave.
Larry: [ Laughs ] Oh, you were listening very closely, weren't you? Oh, you know, that's very good, except the point of all this, all right, was to inflict endless suffering on the brady family. All right? Now, my original plan wasn't the only way to do that. No, I could let you just both die here of cbobon monoxide poisoning, and I could retire from the revenge business a very happy man. Now... go get the hammer.
Belle: Hope! Oh, my god. Hope? Hope, wake up!
Larry: Nah, that's not going to happen. Been sucking on that gas too long. Aah, she's probably dead.
Larry: No? Well, just in case she isn'T... it's hammer time.
Roman: Kate, what are you doing here?
Kate: I stopped by the station to see you, and they said that you had rushed over here, that there was an emergency.
Roman: Shawn collapsed. Bad drug reaction.
Kate: Oh, my god. Is he all right?
Roman: Yeah, well, he's, uh, he's conscious, stabilized, yeah.
Kate: There's more to this.
Roman: Yeah. Yeah, there's a whole lot more. Something that's going to rip my family apart, and I don't know what the hell to do about it.
Kate: I'm a good listener.
Roman: Not yet, kate. I can't -- not yet.
Kate: Well, that's all right. I don't need to know the facts. Here. I'm here for you, though.
Shawn-d: [ Gasping ]
Bo: What are you saying? Shawn, it's not possible. You couldn't have killed colin. Shh, shh, shh, shh.
Craig: Bo, I-I need you to step outside for a second.
Shawn-d: I'm sorry.
Bo: Shh, shh.
Shawn-d: I'm so -- I'm so sorry.
Bo: All right. It's okay. It's going to be okay. Shh. It's all right.
Marlena: No! No!
Marlena: No. No!
Marlena: Don't go! Don't go!
Marlena: No! Don't go! Don't go!
John: Gotcha! It's all right, I'm here. It's all right, honey. It's all right, honey, I'm right here. It's okay. It's okay. It's all right. Yeah. It's all right. It's all right. It's okay. It's okay, it's okay.
Nicole: Give me that. Ooh!
Victor: Ha ha ha. Did you really think that was the only copy, nicole? You think I would be that careless? I have got tons of dirt on you. I mean, I got the original of all these documents, plus I have the videotape of you and colin making love. It's all down in the safe.
Nicole: Pretty careless telling me where to find it.
Victor: Shall we go downstairs so you can try? Remember, I showed you the safe the morning after our wedding. I also showed you the security measures that only allow two people to open it -- me and my attorney. You're never going to get your hands on that evidence, nicole, and you're never going to be free, so you might as well accept it.
Nicole: If you hate me so much, why don't you just divorce me?
Victor: Because it would be too good for you. You've made a series of stupid mistakes -- the last being the most egregious. And you are going to pay for it for the rest of your life.
Roman: Bo, did shawn say anything? Bo.
Kate: Roman, what's going on between you two? Why won't he speak to you?
Roman: Because right now I'm not his brother. I'm a cop doing my job, and he thinks by shutting me out he can save his son. But he's wrong, because what he doesn't know, it's probably too late.
Woman: Detective brady. You can go in now.
Bo: Did you get the results of the blood test?
Craig: Yeah, um, the prescription that marlena wrote for hope was a mild tranquilizer, but the drug that we found in your system was an amphetamine.
Shawn-d: I swear, the only pills that I took were in that bottle.
Bo: Someone must've tampered with the bottle.
Craig: Who would've done that?
Larry: Pardon me.
[ Belle hammering ]
Larry: Good job, belle black. Good job. All right, now give me the hammer. Just give me the hammer. Go sit down. Go on. And stay there. Sit down. All right, and now for the final touch. A little glue, and these puppies won't be opening for a long, long time, will they? Nosiree-bob.
[ Coughs ] Oh, I better get out of here before I die. All right, sweetheart, come on.
Belle: No! No, I am not going with you!
Larry: No, you're absolutely right. You're not going with me at all. Sit there. Don't move. Stay. Stay. Give me your arm. All right.
Belle: What --
Larry: Shh! Quiet! Okay. Look, make it easy on yourself...
[ Inhales ] Deep breaths.
[ Coughs ] Deep breaths. G
John: You all right?
Tony: Here, dri this.
Marlena: What's that? You're both bleeding.
Tony: We were just having a little bit of fun.
Marlena: Fun? And you've injured yourselves?
John: We're fine. I'm worried about you. Why were you screaming? Why were you standing so close to that cliff?
Marlena: I didn't mean to be so close. I was walking -- I heard something. Whatever it was, it was... calling me towards the ocean.
Tony: A memory?
Marlena: I think so. Somebody was leaving in a boat. Whoever it was was breaking my heart. Oh... I hate this. I know repressed memories come back slowly, but... they're coming back piece by piece, and I can't put them together. Why can't I remember everything all at once?
Bo: Was your mom feeling sick when you left the house?
Shawn-d: She... she said that -- that she wasn't feeling well enough to take gran home, and she was going to take some aspirin and then go lie down. Why?
Bo: When I called her to tl her what happened, no one answered the phone.
Shawn-d: You got to go check on her, dad. No, dad, dad, you have to go.
Craig: You know, bo, if you do want to leave, your brother's here in case anything happens to shawn.
Bo: No, no, I'm not leaving.
Shawn-d: Hey, dad, you have to.
Bo: Hey, it's okay. I'll take care of this. Just sit tight. Roman, we got to call the officers watching the house and make sure hope's okay.
Shawn-d: I have to leave. I have to leave --
Craig: Whoa, whoa, whoa, shawn, shawn, you're not going anywhere.
Shawn-d: I have this terrible feeling.
Craig: You're not going anywhere until these drugs --
Shawn-d: I have to go home.
Craig: No, shawn, shawn, listen to me. Relax.
Larry: You're not going anywhere.
Belle: You can't do this.
Larry: Oh, yes, I can. And I have. And it's good what you're doing, you know, because the more you struggle, the more you breathe. And the more you breathe, the sooner it'll be over.
Larry: Ah. How is mrs. B.?
Larry: Sweet dreams.
Belle: You can't get out. You locked yourself in here with us -- not so smart, are you, larry?
Larry: Oh, really, you think so? For your information, I'm going to get out the same way I came in -- right through the basement and right underneath the cops' noses. You know, 's's been a pleasure knowing you both. Sweet dreams. Oh, one more thing -- um, should you decide to, um, scream... just know that I'll be back, and I'll shoot you on the spot. Pleasant dreams, both of you. Ta-da.
[ Coughs ]
Belle: [ Coughs ] Es?
Some worry that a war will begin. Others that another will never end. Kuwaiti prisoners of the gulf war. Their families confide to reporter wilf dinnick. On tonight's "global national" with kevin newman.
Marlena: I can't keep going on like this. I have to know what happened to me back then. I have to put all the pieces together. And if tony thinks he's got a way to do that, then I --
Tony: Good news. The workers have finished in the tower. It's time to help you remember.
John: Marlena's had enough for tonight. Whatever you have planned can wait until the morning.
Marlena: No, no, no, it can't, it can'T. I can't spend one more night not knowing. I want to do it. I want to know now.
John: All right. Tonight it is.
Nicole: How am I going to pay?
Victor: You are really going to have to stop with this false bravado routine, nicole. I mean, it rings very hollow.
Nicole: Damn it, victor, what does that mean, I am going to pay?
Victor: Oh, that's better. Now, I actually heard a little fear in your voice then. And you're right -- you should be fearful.
Nicole: Of what?
Victor: Well, let's see, hopefully, I can avoid the cryptic crap, as you so delicately put it, and make it very clear -- um... remember those rights you were talking about that you had?
Victor: You don'T.
Victor: You forfeited all your rights whenouou indulged yourself with that sordid little coupling with colin.
Nicole: Victor, you're not making any sense.
Victor: Oh, but I am. You see, you just don't want to hear it, and I don't blame you, nicole, because your life is going to become very hard. Oh, dear, I'm afraid I'm being cryptic again.
Nicole: [ Gasps ]
Victor: You are going to become my serf. Now, is that clear enough for you? Hmm?
Nicole: Your wh--
Victor: Serf. In czarist russia, all the peasants were serfs. Anhihing they were, anything that they had, belonged to the czar. That's me -- czar victor I. And you are my serf. Oh, I can see your mind racing, huh? Filled with images of you performing the most menial, the most subservient, the most degrading of acts. Anything and everything that the czar desires.
Victor: Oh, and so weak a "no." And just as it should be, because from now on, your only answer to everything I say to you is yes. Say it. Yes. Say it!
Victor: Good. Now we understand each other, don't we, nicole?
Nicole: You win.
Nicole: I'm no match for you.
Victor: Oh, god, no. I'm czar victor -- all-powerful, all-knowing. Isn't that right, nicole?
Victor: Say it.
Victor: I'm all-powerful, all-knowing.
Victor: I can't hear you.
Nicole: You... are all-powerful, all-knowing.
Victor: And you are my serf. Your only point of living is to give me pleasure.
Nicole: So, what do you want me to do?
Victor: Why, what you do best, my dear.
Roman: Yeah, right, thanks.
Bo: What did they say?
Roman: All quiet.
Bo: They check inside the house?
Bo: Why not?
Roman: The house has been surrounded. There was no point. I'm sure she's asleep. That's why she didn't answer the phone.
Cassie: Can I see shawn now?
Bo: No. Not yet.
Roman: Just family seeing shawn tonight.
Cassie: Well, you're not just fami. You're the police.
Roman: That's right, I am, and tomorrow I want to question you again, so I suggest you go home, get a good night's sleep.
Rex: And I suggest, if you'd like to speak to my sister again, you talk to our family's attorney first. Let's go, cassie. Can you tell shawn we hope he's feeling better, please?
Bo: Can you stay?
Bo: Hey, we're going to go check on your mom.
Shawn-d: I'm going with you.
Bo: No, I don't think that's a good idea.
Craig: Neither do I. I'll be back to check on you later, okay?
Bo: All right. It's all right.
Shawn-d: I have to.
Bo: I'll be back.
Shawn-d: But, dad --
Bo: No, listen to me. I love you. Ererything's going to be fine. You got to trust me. I'm sure your mom's okay, so you just sit tight, all right?
Larry: [ Coughing ] Ow!
[ Groans ] No. Oh.
Hope: [ Coughs ]
Hope: [ Groans ]
Hope: Is he gone?
Hope: Is larry really gone?
Belle: I think so. Um, I tried to scream, but I'm too weak. I don't think they can hear me outside.
[ Coughs ] I'll try to get to the door.
Belle: Even if you get to it, you're not going to get it open. He put glue on the locks.
Hope: Okay. Maybe if we break the window...
[ Shatte on floor ]
Hope: I can'T. I can'T.
[ Clangs on floor ]
Belle: We're going to die.
[ Coughs ] We're not going to die. We've worked too hard. We woke up too much...
Belle: Hope! Hope? Okay... it's up to me.
Jack: You are so beautiful.
