Shawn-D: Hi.

Belle: You scared me half to death.

Shawn-D: I'm sorry. Why don't you come on in?

Belle: Okay. Thank you.

Shawn-D: You're welcome. Surprise!

Belle: Shawn...

Shawn-D: You like the reindeer?

Belle: Yeah, I'm wondering where you got it.

Shawn-D: Uh, church had extra. They were handing them out. I picked one up.

Belle: You're not serious.

Shawn-D: No, I'm not.

Shawn-D: I love you.

Belle: I love you, too.

Bo: I wish I could stay home with you today. You okay?

Hope: I'm sorry. I just, um, I know you have to go to work today.

Bo: I could have ma come by and visit.

Hope: I don't need a babysitter. I'm just really going to miss you.

Bo: Me too. Well, I won't be long today. I'll just tie up some loose ends.

Hope: Larry. Bo, since you're, um, talking about your job, there's another loose end I don't feel like I can live with until it's resolved for good, and that's Billie.

Abe: Well, we'll place a call to the divers searching the river.

Roman: Well, I just checked in. Still no body. They are convinced of Welch’s body was carried out by the current, and they want permission to wrap up the search.

Abe: I don't know. I want them to go out a little while longer. You know, damn it. Why can't things just be simple?

Roman: Did you talk to Billie yet?

Abe: No. You know, and without Larry to substantiate her story, how can we be expected to believe that she wasn't involved in Hope's kidnapping? I mean, I arrested my wife for something she didn't do. Because of Billie. I mean, if she was innocent, she still made some foolish choices and endangered lives with her secrets.

Roman: Yeah. Well, no more. We can't afford to let Billie reed have any more chances.

Billie: It was awfully nice of you to call.

Jack: What do you mean, nice? We're friends.

Billie: Well, you're Hope's friend, too, and I don't know why you would believe I'm innocent. Nobody else does.

Jack: I know you, Billie.

Billie: I don't really see how that helps.

Colin: Nicole. I wanted to ask you something.

Nicole: What is it?

Colin: I suppose, as Victor's fiancée, you must've known all about the ruse that was being perpetrated on this town, regarding Hope Brady's alleged death, et cetera, et cetera. Oh... I see. You're supposed to sell your soul to Victor Kiriakis, but he doesn't have to be honest with you about anything.

Nicole: I don't get why this is any of your business.

Colin: I've been kept in the dark by my loving family, as well. Just seeing how far outside the family circle the truth went.

Nicole: Well, I'm not part of the family yet. I guess that's why Victor didn't tel me.

Colin: You're his fiancée. How do you think Victor would react if you kept a secret like that from him?

Raymond: Kate Roberts. I certainly never expected you to darken this doorway again.

Kate: I made an appointment.

Raymond: You certainly did. It's just that you seemed so determined never to return any of my calls. I assumed you were avoiding me in perpetuity.

Kate: Let's not waste any more time, shall we? As you are aware, Stefano asked for my continued discretion in a certain matter. In return, I want something from Stefano.

Cassie: I'm sorry. We're interrupting.

Shawn-D: Oh, no, yeah, no, no, we just -- I didn't realize you were here.

Belle: You left the door open.

Rex: We, uh, came to drop off our Books. We have another meeting with Professor Putnam.

Cassie: Belle, I love what you did to our room.

Belle: Actually, Shawn did it.

Cassie: What's this?

Shawn-D: Uh, I got Belle an early Christmas present because I figured she could use it now.

Belle: You want me to open this now? Shawn, you know, I usually like to wait.

Shawn-D: Oh, you don't like to wait.

Belle: You're right.

Shawn-D: It's the neatest wrapping job.

Belle: [Gasps] Ha ha ha ha! Shawn!

Shawn-D: Okay, I-I realize this isn't the height of fashion, but --

Belle: No. I love it. The snowman there -- it's going to remind me of you. And us. Come here.

Bo: Hey. I don't want you to worry about Billie. If she had anything to do with this --

Hope: If? Bo, of course she did. I saw her meeting with Larry Welch. She told me she was his accomplice, remember? I don't understand, why you feel you need to give Billie the benefit of the doubt. Do you not remember where it got us before?

Bo: This actually doesn't have anything to do with Billie. I just put Lexie in jail for a crime she didn't commit. I don't want to make that mistake again. Now, you're a fair-minded person. You believe in due process, so don't worry about this. There will be an investigation. All the facts will come out.

Hope: How? She says Larry tricked her. Now he's gone. There's no one to back up what she's saying. There's no one to refute it, either, Bo. How many times can she ruin our lives and get away with it? Bo, please, you can't let it happen again.

Billie: Jack. Do you want to go talk to Jennifer?

Jack: No.

Billie: Let me rephrase that. I know you want to go talk to Jennifer.

Jack: I don't have anything to say to her.

Billie: Oh. Hey, you know what? I'm dying for another cup of coffee. Would you go get me a refill, please?

Jack: Certainly.

Billie: Thank you.

Jennifer: Jack. Just wait.

Nicole: You're right. Victor's not the kind of man who likes his women to keep secrets. You know, Victor and i understand each other, Colin. We're entering into a lifelong commitment because we want to very much.

Victor: Glad to hear you say that, Nicole. I certainly Hope you mean it.

Nicole: Of course I do. Hi there. Funny running into both of you here, one right after the other.

Colin: Oh, I must pop over here at least five times a day. The coffee at the hospital is swill. Though, .Com doesn't strike me as the watering hole for local magnates.

Nicole: Victor's son works here.

Colin: Oh... a little bit of tough love, eh?

Victor: Colin, it was good of you to stop by and say hi. Now we'll say goodbye.

Woman: Excuse me.

Victor: Oh, allow me. Beautiful little boy.

Woman: Oh, thank you.

Victor: Reminds me of Philip.

Nicole: I've seen his baby pictures. Philip was even cuter.

Colin: [Thinking] I think an heir other than Philip might more important to Victor than our infertile Nicole realizes.

[Aloud] Ha ha ha. Kate Roberts also had trouble making a baby Kiriakis, and look where she wound up.

Raymond: Six feet under is hardly a position from which Mr. DiMera is able to do anything for you.

Kate: I thought he was ashes in an urn on a mantel somewhere. You know, if he truly is dead, why would he even care about my continued discretion?

Raymond: Why should you care? His request was accompanied by a very generous payment.

Kate: Yes, indeed. It was, which is why I believe that someone is still benefiting from my silence.

Raymond: Is that a threat?

Kate: Mr. Grant, I assure you, I am not asking for more money. I'm not asking for much at all. Victor Kiriakis is planning to marry one Nicole Walker, and I want to ensure that wedding never takes place. So, for the good of all mankind, do we have a deal?

Hope: Bo, I know you find it hard to believe that Billie could ever do anything this crazy, this extreme. But she's done things before almost as bad.

Bo: And I believed her then, too.

Hope: Yeah.

Bo: Well, you got to believe me, Hope, when I say I am not going to let anything like that happen ever again. And you are right. Since you've been home, I have been looking at the world through rose-cored glasses. I love you, fancy face.

Hope: I love you, too, Brady. No. Forget it, forget it, forget it. You have to go. Get dressed. You need to go to work.

Bo: Okay. The sooner I go, the sooner I'm home, and the sooner we can continue this.

Hope: Exactly what I was thinking.

Bo: Great minds...

Bo: Now, that was unfair unsnapping my shirt...

Hope: Ha ha ha ha.

Jack: We don't have anything to talk about.

Jennifer: Jack, yes. Yes, we do, please.

Jack: I can't hear you, Jennifer. I can't hear you, because I don't trust you, and it's not just because you don't trust me.

Jennifer: But I do. I do trust you, Jack.

Jack: My ability to keep a secret aside, I believed that something genuine was happening between us, in our shared grief over Hope's death. At least you could've had the common decency to keep your distance, so I wouldn't have believed that you were comforting me through a lie.

Jennifer: Jack, I-I don't know how else to tell you, how sorry I am.

Jack: Will you excuse me? Billie's coffee's getting cold.

Billie: Sorry, I thought it would be good for the two of you to talk.

Jack: Jennifer and I have had years to talk. It's funny. For two people who live and die by the words we write, words don't tend to serve us when we aim them at each other.

Colin: Jennifer. Hi.

Jennifer: Hey. Uh, now that crunch time is over at the paper, any chance you might be free for dinner tonight?

Jennifer: Yeah. Yeah, I would love to, actually. Uh, I just -- I need to check with Abby. Do you mind if I get back to you?

Colin: No. Not at all. I'll be at the hospital all day.

Jennifer: Okay. That's great.

Nicole: You're not upset, are you, that I was with Colin?

Victor: Should I be?

Nicole: Of course not. He seems very interested in Jennifer Horton.

Victor: Does that bother you?

Nicole: No. Why would it? Victor, are you going to be putting me on 24-hour surveillance? Are we going to have this conversation anytime I pass within a mile of an attractive guy other than you?

Victor: Nicole, my concern is particular to dr. Murphy, and you know exactly the reason why. So why don't you do yourself a favor and just stay away from him? Now, I don't see Philip anywhere, so I'm going to go find out when he's scheduled to work again.

Nicole: I do what I want, when I want, with whoever I want. No one controls my life, Victor, not even you.

Rex: We'd better go. Professor Putnam's expecting us.

Cassie: Belle, you know, I really -- I love your sweater.

Belle: Thanks.

Shawn-D: Yeah. Hey, um, well, Cassie, uh, have a nice day. Huh?

Rex: You too.

Shawn-D: Have a good day, Rex. Have a good day.

Shawn-D: 'Cause I think we're going to have a good day.

Belle: Yeah, me too.

[Doorbell rings]

Hope: Hey. Hi.

Jennifer: [Gasps] Look at you! Oh, look at you, you look beautiful.

Hope: Oh, my gosh, thank you.

Jennifer: No, you look great.

Hope: Thanks, honey.

Jennifer: Oh, I'm so glad to see you. Hey, where's the baby?

Hope: Sleeping in, believe it or not.

Jennifer: Sleeping in? I just rang the doorbell.

Hope: Don't worry about it. I'm glad you're here. Sit down.

Jennifer: I'm so glad I'm here. Look at you. I am so glad you are here. Thank God. Oh, thank God.

Raymond: You're talking about blackmail, ms. Roberts. And, of course, you've already been quite overpaid for your services.

Raymond: I can't imagine you'd be foolish enough to think of going public with what you did or what you know. Your payment was a courtesy, but mr. DiMera has other methods of insuring cooperation, as I'm sure you must realize.

Kate: Mr. Grant --

Raymond: If you're having problems with your ex-husband, they're your problems. Handle Victor Kiriakis yourself. Get out, and don't contact me again.

Colin: So, I presume the master commanded you to sit and stay. And when he says, "roll over"...

Nicole: I'm the master of my own destiny.

Colin: Mistress, you mean.

Nicole: Ahem. Here is my private cell phone number.

Nicole: Keep in touch, okay?

Colin: I will.

Victor: You were just leaving. Don't let me stop you.

Colin: Oh, I just wanted to inquire after Nicole's health, which was my first intention when I stopped her outside.

Victor: She's doing fine, thank you very much.

Colin: Have you seen that fertility specialist I recommended?

Nicole: Hmm... I haven't had a chance -- wedding plans and all.

Victor: May I remind you that you are no longer Nicole's doctor. It's really none of your concern. Now, again, goodbye.

Colin: You're playing a dangerous game, Nicole. If you're not careful, you're going to lose everything you worked so hard for.

Roman: Shane cut through a lot of red tape for us, got the charges against you wiped from the Books.

Bo: Ooh. Good.

Roman: The judge and the D.A. Are not real happy about being left out of the loop.

Abe: D.A. Palmer wasn't very pleased with us.

Bo: Oh, well, isn't that too bad? I did what I had to do to save Hope.

Billie: And you still blame me, don't you?

Bo: What are you doing here, Billie? Days we will return for the second half of "days of our lives" in just a moment.

Hope: Oh, you know, I-I haven't really thanked you for all that you did. Jen, thank you. Thank you so, so very much, honey. Hey, I, um, I overhead you telling Julie that it caused a problem for you and Jack.

Jennifer: I-I don't -- I don't want you to worry about that. I mean, it's not as though we were doing so well before this happened.

Hope: Yes, you were. You were getting closer. I know you were. I just can't believe that Jack would hold it against you, though.

Jennifer: You know, he -- he's just so happy that you're okay. He really is. And I think that this was just the straw that broke the camel's back, that's all.

Hope: Well, not forever.

Jennifer: Yeah, yeah, I'm afraid it might be forever.

Abe: I Hope you're not here in violation of your official suspension.

Billie: No, I came to clean out my desk, if you don't mind.

Roman: Pretty sure what the outcome of this investigation will be, huh?

Billie: No. But I think you are. I came to this department to model myself after you, Roman -- to be a good cop, a smart cop, and to try to come up with the right answers. But I made a big mistake, but so did you. Larry Welch fooled you, too. And before you condemn me for my bad judgement, you might want to think what would happen if you applied those standards to yourselves.

Bo: Next thing you know, you're going to be crying that we're framing you. We want you out of here so bad, this is a perfect opportunity, right?

Billie: Yeah. Right.

Roman: Billie, come on.

Bo: You've wanted to be a cop for, what, 12 months? You've had this burning desire to be in law enforcement for, what, 12 months? You've skated time after time when you should've been in jail. We've given you opportunity after opportunity to put your life together. Feeling sorry for you, sympathizing with you, is not going to happen. And whether it was sheer stupidity or actual malicious intent, you helped my wife and son be kidnapped by a monster named Larry Welch. So don't play the victim.

Jack: But she is a victim -- an innocent victim -- as much as you were, as much as Hope is.

Rolf: Thank you for returning this to me, count DiMera. I can now return the twins to my complete control.

[Knock on door]

Rolf: Yes, come in. Well, hello. You're, uh, you're right on time.

Cassie: Hey.

Rex: Hey.

Rolf: Uh, are you ready to continue unlocking the mysteries of your DNA? Well, please, make yourselves comfortable.

Rolf: Now, I want you to both relax completely. Close your eyes, take deep slow breaths, and count to 10.

Cassie: 1...2...

Rex and Cassie: 3... 4... 5... 6... 7...

Belle: Okay, mom, I love you, too. Bye. I'm sorry about that.

Shawn-D: No, no, I wouldn't want to interrupt female shop talk. It sounds like you two are going to be spending a month at the mall.

Belle: Yeah, well, I think I can find time for some other things. It seems ridiculous to be thinking about buying things right now. Anything we ever wanted we already have. But I do love my sweater. I think maybe I'll get Cassie one.

Shawn-D: Just, uh, none with a snowman, though.

Belle: No, of course not. That's special for us. I just really want Cassie and Rex to have a great Christmas.

Shawn-D: So do I.

Belle: Shawn, I Hope professor Putnam can give them some answers. I keep thinking that maybe a long time ago, somebody did love them. Maybe they were just taken from where they're supposed to be. I Hope he can help them.

Rolf: All right, today's lesson. From now on, your mission in life is to protect the DiMeras, at all costs. Whenever you detect a threat to the DiMeras, you must take action.

Rex and Cassie: We must take action.

Hope: Jen, hold it. Don't you think you should give Jack some time before you decide he'll never forgive you?

Jennifer: You know, I don't really understand this concept of forgive and forget. You know, I mean, I tried to do it, and then I keep finding myself holding this piece of ancient history over Jack's head. So why shouldn't he do it to me?

Zack: Mommy. Mommy.

Hope: I'll be right back, okay?

Jennifer: No, okay, you know, I really need to go. I need to do some errands. You want me to pick anything up?

Hope: Oh, thanks, but you know what? There's a few things I need to take care of myself. Oh, and Caroline is so anxious to see Zack.

Jennifer: Yeah, of course. I love you. I love you so much.

Hope: I love you, too, sweetie. Now, remember, just think about what I said, okay?

Jennifer: Yeah.

Hope: Drive safely.

Jack: Then Larry persuades the entire Salem P.D. -- Granted, with Billie's unwitting assistance -- that Lex is the kidnapper. Is the entire Salem P.D. To be blamed? Of course not. But Billie reed has erred grievously because she let the dubious and crafty Larry Welch con her. I fail to see the logic here.

Abe: Billie needs more than your support right now, Jack. We shouldn't be discussing this without your attorney present.

Billie: I don't have a lawyer yet.

Bo: Well, get one. Soon.

Roman: And get the best. You're going to need all the help you can get.

Cassie: Wow. This is really us?

Rex: I've never seen DNA like this before.

Rolf: Well, that's the problem, dear boy. Neither has anyone else, but, uh, we won't give up until we've solved this mystery together.

Cassie: Well, you don't need any more blood, do you?

Rolf: Oh, no, n it's, uh, it's your brain power I'll be harvesting henceforth.

Rex: May I keep this printout to study?

Rolf: Yes, yes, of course. So, uh, I'll see you both at our next appointment time, eh?

Cassie: Okay.

Rex: Thank you.

Cassie: Bye.

Rolf: Bye. Take care.

Cassie: Have a good day.

Rolf: See you soon.

Rolf: So young... so innocent... so... potentially lethal.

Nicole: So, are we ever going to set a date?

Victor: It's entirely up to you. The last time I was hoping to surprise you, but... maybe it's better this way. This way, you'll be able to plan your wedding exactly the way you wanted it.

Nicole: Chief consideration -- nothing goes wrong.

Victor: No, it won’t. We really should get back to the office.

Nicole: Hmm, I just need to freshen up, and I want to get a mocha java to go. Do you want anything?

Victor: I'll get it.

Nicole: Thank you.

[Giggles]

Nicole: [Groans]

Kate: Just the person I didn't want to see.

Nicole: You can thank me, actually, for taking time out of my busy schedule to give you a little unfriendly warning. Victor's going to be marrying me soon. I can't wait. It's going to be the happiest day of my life and the beginning of the end of yours.

Jennifer: Hello there.

Colin: Ah. Hello again.

Jennifer: I'm, uh, covering a story upstairs. I thought I'd come by and finalize our dinner plans.

Colin: I presume you can make it.

Jennifer: Yeah, I can. Abby is having a sleepover at a friend's house.

Colin: How nice. But when I take you home, you'll be all alone in that big empty house all night long.

Jennifer: Well, not necessarily.

[Pager beeping]

Colin: Uh... sorry, but I have to return this call. Um, don't go away.

[Telephone rings]

Raymond: Raymond grant.

Colin: What is it?

Raymond: Colin, I wanted to check in with you regarding your assignment for the DiMeras. The bequest from Stefano -- the silver bullet with Bo Brady's name on it.

Colin: I told you how to handle it. I'll tell you when I'm ready.

Billie: Look, all I want to do is clean out my desk, get my things, and go home.

Abe: First, I need you to give me your gun and your badge.

Abe: If you'll excuse me, I need to talk to Bo alone.

Roman: You got 15 minutes to get your things together and be gone.

Billie: [Sniffles]

Billie: Thanks.

Jack: I wish I could've been more of a help.

Billie: You were, just by being there, Jack. Thanks.

Jack: You know, I-I do believe that I-I still owe you a dinner.

Billie: What, from the celebration of heroes? Well, officially, I'm no longer a hero.

Jack: I still want to take you out. I do. Unless you want to be alone.

Billie: No. No. That would be nice. I'd like that.

Belle: It's strange, but with all this snow around, it seems awfully warm in here.

Shawn-D: I know what you mean.

Belle: Otherwise, I'd put on my new sweater.

Shawn-D: Oh, I, uh, I wouldn't do that just yet.

Belle: You're making this really difficult, you know, for the second year in a row. How am I supposed to get you a gift that means as much as what you gave me?

Shawn-D: You don't have to. You know what Gran says. "Every day is a gift." So I just want to make every day special for you, because you always do that for me.

Belle: Shawn, what more could you possibly do?

Shawn-D: Well, you know those advent calendars -- how it's, you know, a special chocolate surprise every day or whatever? Okay, it's funny, but... that's what I want to do for you -- make every day a surprise through the new year.

Belle: Shawn, you don't have to do that.

Shawn-D: No, I-I want to.

Belle: You know, nothing could be better than what you've already done for me.

Shawn-D: Oh, you'll see. This is going to be a month you'll never forget.

Nicole: Have a nice life, Kate, at least what little you have left.

Kate: Damn you, Nicole. And damn you, Victor.

Kate: Damn the DiMeras for not helping me. I wish they were all dead.

Rex: We must protect the DiMeras at all costs.

Cassie: Whenever we detect a threat to the DiMeras...

Rex: We must take action.

Raymond: I want you to assure me that you have an actual plan in place.

Colin: I'm sorry, but I'm on duty. I can't deal with this right now.

Colin: Uh, I apologize. Small emergency.

Jennifer: Oh, that's all right. Is everything okay? We don't have to cancel our dinner plans, do we?

Colin: Tonight... I'm all yours.

Roman: I'm on my way to tell mark he's getting a new partner.

Billie: Please tell him that I'm sorry.

Roman: I guess maybe that's the first and last time we'll hear those words out of your mouth, though, right? Your 15 minutes are almost up, by the way.

Billie: Jack, you don't have to wait. I can get home on my own.

Jack: No, no. No, no. I-I can stay.

Billie: I just need a little time, okay?

Jack: Okay, okay, I'll, um, I'll call you later, and we'll see about making those plans for tonight, right?

Billie: Okay.

Jack: Billie, Billie. It's going to be okay. And the truth will set you free.

Billie: I sure Hope so, Jack. Thanks for everything.

Abe: So the victim's out of surgery and conscious, so if you're ready to head over to the hospital and take a statement...

Bo: Okay, I'm on it. Thanks.

Bo: Bye.

Billie: Bye.

Bo: Get yourself a lawyer. Fast.

Hope: Hello, Billie. You're not going anywhere... not until I'm through with you.
