Chloe: Are we in Hollywood yet?
Brady: Just over those mountains. Give or take a few thousand miles.
Chloe: Mountains? What mountains?
Chloe: I'd kill for a .Com double latte right now.
Brady: You know what? I better get this puppy up and running so we can get the hell out of here.
Chloe: Don't go. I'll freeze to death if you leave me.
Brady: We can't have that, now, can we? It's a car. That's a car. A car! I hear a car!
Brady: A car!
Brady: [Grunting] Come on!
Brady: Damn! I could have swore I heard something!
Chloe: Wishful thinking.
Brady: Yeah, I guess. There hasn't been a car on this road since we broke down. Come on. Watch your step. I'm gonna look underneath the hood again. I think in the daylight I might be able to figure out how to fix something underneath there.
Brady: What? Oh, my God.
Chloe: It's beautiful.
[Sighing] Hey. Ah, the sun's up.
Brandon: Talk about pulling an all-nighter.
Sami: Tell me I'm not dreaming.
Brandon: Hmm, let's see. What can I do to prove to you how real this is?
Sami: We waited so long to be together.
Brandon: Mm. We wouldn't be together now if it wasn't for that stormy night on the hospital roof.
Sami: Hot and stormy.
Brandon: Yes, you were.
Sami: Brandon, I was so worried that I would lose you that night that I... had to stay away from you because of Nicole and Victor. I thought that you would turn to someone else. You always believed that we would be together.
Brandon: Samantha, let's not -- let's not go back, okay? Not now.
Sami: Not ever. Nothing -- no one -- will ever keep us apart again.
Shawn-D: When I stopped by the pub this morning, Zack kept saying, "Mommy, Daddy." And I -- I just told him, I'm like, "don't worry, Zack. They're gonna be home soon, buddy." I didn't know what to say. I mean, what am I supposed to do, just tell him the truth?
Belle: Things will be better after the arraignment when your dad comes home.
Belle: Shawn, we have to keep hoping and praying.
Man: Hey, Philip, we've all been thinking about you. How's your sister Billie doing?
Philip: Well, it doesn't look good.
Belle: What do the doctors say?
Philip: My mom has to decide whether or not to take her off life support.
Man: Sorry. I hope things work out for all of you.
Philip: Thank you.
Philip: Thank you. Things have to turn around soon, guys. They just have to.
Shawn-D: No matter what happens, nothing is ever going to be the same. We're never going to be the same.
Man: Visitors, detective.
Bo: Ma, you shouldn't be here.
Caroline: Oh, son I'm not leaving, so save your breath. Hi.
Bo: How are the boys?
Caroline: Oh, well, Shawn's having a hard time, but he's strong, you know? He'll be all right.
Caroline: And Zack is just fine.
Roman: Yeah, pop's taking care of him so Mom could be here.
Caroline: You're the one who needs taken care of right now.
Mickey: I tried to get the arraignment postponed, but the court's insistent it has to be done today, so that doesn't leave us much time to prepare.
Bo: We don't need any time to prepare. I'm pleading guilty.
Larry: Good morning. I thought you might, uh, like to see the "spectator" along with your morning coffee.
Hope: Another special drugged latte? I'll pass.
Larry: No, no, no. See, this is the real thing. I want you wide awake for the news of the day.
Hope: Why? What happened?
Larry: Well, it's all in your cousin Jennifer's newspaper. Check it out, Fancy Face.
Hope: "Commander Carver's wife murdered. Police detective held." My God, this can't be.
Larry: Oh, no. Yeah, it is. Lexie Carver's a goner, and your hubby did the deed. Looks like Bo is dead man walking.
Brady: Damn it. It's a lost cause, Chloe.
Chloe: Yeah. No luck with the cell phone, either. It reads "no service."
Brady: Here we are in the middle of nowhere.
Chloe: Well, I guess we could stop for breakfast while you come up with a plan.
Brady: I'm glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humor.
Chloe: Well, I've got peanuts. I saved them from the airplane.
Brady: Nice! Ha ha. You'd do really well on one of those survivor shows, you know that?
Chloe: I wonder how far it is to the nearest town.
Brady: Well, I don't know. And I don't want to start walking only to find out there isn't one. We're not exactly dressed for cold weather, you know?
Chloe: I guess we'll just have to stay close to one another until someone rescues us.
Brady: Now that sounds like a plan. What we need now is a miracle.
Chloe: Do you hear something?
Brady: Nah. Just more wishful thinking.
Brady: Will you look at that?
Chloe: Talk about your miracle.
Brady: Come on, let's go.
Brady: Excuse me!
Man: Whoa. Whoa. You folks in trouble?
Brady: Hey, look at that. It's the lone ranger.
Man: A jokester, huh? Hi-ho, silver, away!
Brady: Wait a second. Hang on.
Brady: Hold up! Come on!
Chloe: Don't leave.
Brady: Hey! Please stop, come on.
Hope: I don't care what this says. Bo would never kill anyone in cold blood.
Larry: Look, anybody could snap, especially if given enough provocation.
Hope: Not Bo. Even if he were out of his mind with grief, he would never, ever do something so horrible as this.
Larry: Whatever. I just hope he's got a good lawyer. Look, it's not our problem. We have our own plans to make.
Hope: My children. My kids have to be so scared. What's going to happen to them?
Larry: I don't know, foster care, maybe. Or maybe a family member --
Hope: God, would you stop it? God, just stop it, for God's sake! They're children! They don't deserve to suffer!
Caroline: You can't plead guilty! Mickey, tell him!
Bo: Ma, I did it. I killed Lexie.
Mickey: Look, we have got to get the charges reduced. The D.A.'S going to throw the book at you.
Caroline: You can't be charged with a capital crime, not under the circumstances.
Bo: Ma, it doesn't matter what happens. Hope is gone. I've got nothing to live for.
Caroline: You have Shawn and Zack. You've got to fight for them. You can't let them grow up without a mother or father. I know you won't.
Hope: My children don't deserve to suffer for this!
Larry: Save the tears and sit! The news of the day isn't over yet. Here. I want you to read this. Right there -- read that.
Hope: Officer Billie Reed was shot and wounded last night while on duty at the Salem pier.
Larry: Yeah, my aim was off. Otherwise, she'd be dead.
Hope: You shot Billie? Why?
Larry: She was ready to sell me out.
Hope: You don't even know her.
Larry: Please. Come on. The ex-cosmetics queen and I have been partners for over a year. She's been in on the whole kidnapping. Then she got cold feet. What was I going to do? She had to die. And she will, even if it's taking a little more time than I expected.
Hope: I can't believe Billie would do this.
Larry: Please. Don't waste your pity on Billie. She has no love for you. Believe me. She jumped at the chance to get back at you. "Revenge of the exes" is what we called it at first. But then, I don't know, she had to go and get a conscience. Or maybe she just got the hots for your husband. It doesn't matter now anyway. See, Billie is a vegetable, Bo's dead meat, and you're my dessert. See, you and I are going to have our very own private banquet. Tell me you're as hungry for it as I am.
[Reporters shouting questions]
Celeste: I don't know if I can get through this, Abraham.
Cameron: No interviews! The Carver family has nothing to say.
Man: We're approved by the court to cover these proceedings.
Woman: Aren't you Lexie Carver's mother?
Abe: You heard her. No interviews.
Woman: Was your wife really guilty of kidnapping and murder, commander?
Cameron: Back off, or I'll see to it that you're removed from the hearing.
Celeste: You know, the last time that we were in this hearing room, Alexandra walked out of here a free woman with a future ahead of her.
Abe: I should have done more to protect her.
Cameron: I promise you that as soon as the criminal aspect of this case is dealt with, I am going to bring a civil suit against Bo Brady and the police department. I mean, the murder of your daughter was due to gross negligence.
Abe: You know, this is not the time, Cameron. Now we've got enough to deal with.
Cameron: Of course. Were you able to reach Count DiMera?
Celeste: No, darling, I wasn't able to get in touch with him, but he should be here. He should see this. He has the right to see justice being done.
Abe: There is no justice. Nothing can happen that can bring back the woman I love.
Man: Captain Brady, it's time.
Roman: We need to go.
Caroline: Please think about what we said. I love you.
Bo: I love you, too, ma.
Roman: Hey, we'll see you in court.
Bo: Hey, no, no. I don't want family there. You guys have been through too much.
Caroline: It will be a lot harder not to be with you.
Roman: Let's go, ma.
Mickey: Okay, you ready?
Chloe: We really appreciate this.
Brady: Listen, our, uh, car broke down.
Man: I see that.
Brady: You know, I think I know what the problem is, too, actually.
Chloe: What beautiful horses. And what a knockout carriage.
Brady: Yeah, I think that a hose might be broken. The, uh, radiator might be blown.
Chloe: Hey, what are their names?
Man: Cappuccino and charcoal.
Chloe: Cappuccino and charcoal -- I love that.
Brady: Yeah, the battery might be dead, too, actually.
Man: I think he's taking a liking to you. We do weddings, you know.
Chloe: That's why you're dressed all in white.
Man: Yep. Last one was at the VFW hall. I had to spend the night there, though. The fog was terrible.
Chloe: That's what happened to us. Our plane had to make an emergency landing in Denver, and then we spun off the road because a deer or something jumped in front of the car.
Brady: Yeah, if we could find a garage --
Chloe: Anyway, we need to find a garage or an auto mechanic.
Man: Sure, why didn't you say so? Hop in.
Brady: Yeah. Yeah, thank you. Thank you very much.
Man: If I was you, I'd shut the hood on that clunker of yours. We can get serious weather here pretty fast.
Brady: you're right.
Man: If you're hungry, there's some wedding cake in that box there. Help yourself.
Chloe: Mmm, this is so warm.
Brady: Whoa. Ha ha. Look at this thing. How far to the nearest town?
Man: About 25 miles.
Chloe: Won't that be a long trip for charcoal and cappuccino?
Man: We're not going that far.
Brady: We're not?
Man: Nope. I'm gonna drop you off up the road a piece at my brother's place.
Brady: I wonder what the lone ranger has in store for us.
Chloe: Well, who cares? It's warm, and we've got cake.
Brady: Yes, we do.
Chloe: Ha ha ha.
Shawn-D: Look, I need to run. I got to -- I got to be there for my dad.
Belle: I'm gonna say a prayer for you, Shawn -- for your whole family. Here.
Shawn-D: Thanks, Belle.
Philip: You take care, man.
Jack: Shawn, it's time.
Shawn-D: I'm ready.
Jennifer: You remember, no matter what your dad says, he's gonna be glad that you're there.
Shawn-D: Yeah. Take care.
Jack: I'll see you over there.
Philip: Yeah. See you.
Man: Get an exclusive --
Man #2: I said no, Mr. Taylor.
[Reporters shouting questions]
Man #3: What about the children? Are the children safe?
Mickey: You can take the handcuffs off. He's not going anywhere.
Abe: No, they stay on.
Bo: Abe, I'm s-- I never meant for this to happen.
Abe: At least you've got a shot at a fair trial. It's more than Lexie had.
Cameron: Let's take our seats, Abraham. Celeste needs you.
Bailiff: All rise. This court is now in session. Judge Segal presiding.
Judge Segal: Good morning. Please sit down. Mr. Horton. Mr. Palmer.
Mickey: Your honor.
Palmer: Good morning.
Judge Segal: Are you ready to proceed?
Palmer: Yes, your honor, I am.
Mickey: The defense is ready.
Judge Segal: Very well. Mr. Palmer.
Palmer: The people charge Beauregard Brady with first-degree murder in the killing of Alexandra DiMera Carver.
Larry: Time to get up.
Hope: I just want this nightmare to end.
Larry: The nightmare was spending 10 years behind bars like an animal, thanks to you and your husband. But now all my dreams are coming true. Revenge -- how sweet it is.
Hope: You're sick.
Larry: Be nice. I'm all you got. You're dead to the rest of the world
Hope: No. My family would never, ever believe that I'm dead.
Larry: Ha ha ha. I hate to break it to you, but, uh... the news of your death is official -- fact, not fiction. Now, you didn't make page one, but here you are on page three. Read it.
Hope: They closed the investigation on the kidnapping. On me.
Larry: You're nothing more than ashes in an urn, Hope. All right? Nobody -- and I mean nobody -- is going to come looking for you. You get it? Nobody.
Sami: The way we feel about each other should go on forever just like this.
Brandon: I hope not.
Brandon: I'm going to be a mere shadow of my former self if I don't get something to eat, and soon.
Sami: Well, I am staying in bed, so you'll have to bring the food to me.
Brandon: No, see, that is why God invented room service.
Sami: Ha ha ha.
Brandon: Hello, room service? This is Brandon Walker.
Sami: The sexiest man alive.
Judge Segal: Detective Brady, you are charged --
[Judge pounds gavel]
Judge Segal: Quiet, please! Detective Brady, you are charged with first-degree murder. How do you plead?
Judge Segal: Detective Brady?
Bo: Not guilty, your honor.
Celeste: No! He did it! He did!
Mickey: Your honor, the defense -- the defense requests that reasonable bail be established and detective Brady be released on his own recognizance until trial.
Palmer: Your honor, the charge is first-degree murder. The prosecution asks that bail be denied and the accused remain in protective custody. Detective Brady is clearly a danger to society. He defied a restraining order, he hunted down and killed Alexandra Carver in a most brutal manner.
Mickey: Mrs. Carver was a prisoner charged with kidnapping and murder and trying to escape. As an officer of the law, detective Brady was attempting to keep her from getting away.
Palmer: There was already a sizable police presence at the scene of the crime strong enough to prevent any possible escape.
Mickey: We are talking about a husband and a father tortured by Mrs. Carver, who had stolen his child Zack from him not once but twice, and murdered his wife.
Palmer: Objection! That's supposition.
Judge Segal: Sustained.
Mickey: All the police evidence points to Lexie Carver as Hope Brady's killer. When detective Brady found out that Mrs. Carver was attempting to escape, he reacted the way any one of us would have. Determined to bring her to justice, he acted as he'd been trained to do, and, yes, he tracked her down.
Palmer: And killed her.
Mickey: In a moment of passion. Driven by grief, detective Brady did overtake Mrs. Carver, and her death was a tragic result, but this is a man, a police officer, whose bravery and commitment to justice is well known in this city. He is a loyal, upstanding citizen, husband, father. Given the circumstances, we ask that the court reduce the charges against detective Brady to manslaughter, and he be allowed to return to his home to be with his sons who need him.
Abe: No! You can't. You can't set him free.
Larry: Get a grip. We're moving on.
Larry: Because as long as Billie's still breathing, she's a time bomb.
Hope: You said she was brain-dead.
Larry: Yeah, well, with my luck, she could pull a miracle healing and start to talk. Hell, she could have all of Salem P.D. Right down here to this hideaway.
Hope: Then we are in Salem.
Larry: Yeah, well, not for long. Let's go.
Larry: Well, come on!
Hope: I'm not going anywhere with you.
Larry: Look, I missed Billie on the pier 'cause it was dark. There's no damn way I'm gonna miss in here.
Hope: Wanna bet? Help! Somebody help me! Help! Help!
Larry: Time for your medication!
Hope: Let go of me! Let go of me, Welch! Ouch!
Larry: You better get used to it, 'cause these hands are the only human contact you're gonna have from here .
Hope: I'd rather be dead.
Larry: Oh, no, not a chance. I want you alive.
Larry: Ow! Get off --
Larry: What the hell is that?
Philip: There's no change in my sister.
Belle: Maybe that's a odd thing. She's holding on, fighting to stay alive.
Philip: I hope so.
Belle: Philip, you have to believe that she's gonna be okay, she's gonna make it through it no matter what the odds are. That's what I'm doing for Shawn and his family.
Philip: Believing in miracles?
Belle: What else have got?
Man: Whoa. Whoa. This is it, folks -- my brother's place.
Chloe: A cabin, just like in the movies.
Man: Yeah, he built it himself.
Brady: That is impressive.
Man: Well, good luck.
Brady: You're not coming with us?
Man: Well, there's no need. The door's open.
Chloe: But won't your brother mind? We're strangers.
Man: Nah, he's in Vegas for the winter, but his phone is hooked up. You guys can call Gus's garage for a tow and wait inside where it's still warm.
Man: Me and the boys got another couple to get hitched today.
Chloe: We can't thank you enough -- you and the boys.
Man: Well, you're one lucky fella.
Brady: Yeah, and smart enough to know it, too.
Brady: Thank you again.
Chloe: "Headin' for the honeymoon"?
Brady: Does that make you nervous, Chloe?
Chloe: Me? No. Come on, let's check out the cabin.
Brady: Let's get out of here.
Brady: Chloe, look at this place! It's awesome! Come on, it's freezing out here! Let's go.
Chloe: Almost there, almost there.
[Knock on door]
Chloe: Why are you knocking?
Brady: Honey, I'm home. Ha ha.
Chloe: Couldn't you take the cowboy's word for it?
Brady: I'm just trying to be polite, that's all.
Chloe: Wow. Looks like we stepped into another world or something.
Brady: Yes, it does. Look at this stuff. There sure is a lot of history in this place. You know, I really wish we could have gotten the lone ranger's real name. I wanted to thank him for all his help.
Chloe: Well, nobody really knows who the Lone Ranger is. He's a man of mystery. "Who is that masked man?" Remember? That's how all his shows ended.
Brady: No, sorry, I never watched it.
Chloe: Did too.
Brady: Did not.
Chloe: Ha ha ha ha.
Brady: Are you cold?
Chloe: I'm freezing. Where's the thermostat in this place?
Brady: There -- fireplace. But if I can't get that to work, I'll figure out another way to keep you nice and warm.
Chloe: Ooh. Ha ha ha.
Brandon: There you are. Thank you.
Woman: Thank you.
Brandon: Coast is clear.
Sami: Oh, breakfast in bed is the best. Nice robe.
Brandon: There's another one just like it.
Sami: Ha ha.
Sami: "Lexie carver strangled to death in Salem"?
Brandon: Hey, there are these funny little spa slippers, too. You want them? Samantha? Robe and slippers.
Sami: Mm. Thank you. Come on, open the champagne.
Brandon: Well, since you're waiting...
Sami: This is the best.
Brandon: I could have swore I saw a, um, a newspaper on here.
Sami: No, um, no, I don't think so. Come on, let's get to it. Pop the cork.
Judge Segal: Commander Carver, sit down, or I'll be forced to ask you to leave my court.
Judge Segal: Continue, Mr. Horton.
Mickey: Thank you, your honor. Detective Brady has strong professional and family ties in this city. He is not a flight risk. As the court is undoubtedly aware, he was recently decorated by the mayor himself for heroism in the line of duty while serving his community, and from the very beginning of this tragic case, detective Brady's sole pursues has been to see justice done. For these reasons, we ask that bail be set, he be allowed to return to his home. Thank you.
Palmer: Your honor, the defense has repeatedly reminded us that Beauregard Brady is a decorated police detective, sworn to protect and serve. However, the facts of this case tell a very different story. Clearly, he took the law into his own hands, and when it served his purpose, he turned a blind eye to his duty and instead, dispensed his own form of vigilante justice. This is not a model citizen. This is a cold-blooded killer, and the charge of first-degree murder should stand for the sake of this community to which he supposedly has such strong ties. Therefore, the prosecution respectfully asks that bail be denied and detective Brady be returned to lockup.
Judge Segal: I have had the opportunity this morning to review the facts of this case, and now, having heard both sides, I am ready to render my decision. K
Sami: So, what do you say we have dessert in bed?
Brandon: I was wondering why you were saving all that whipped cream.
Sami: You betcha. I'll race you. Ha ha! I win.
Brandon: Aha. I knew it.
Sami: What? Oh. Ahem. What -- what is it?
Brandon: It's Lexie. She's been murdered.
Sami: Oh -- let me see.
Brandon: I knew I shouldn't have left her.
Sami: What are you doing?
Brandon: I'm going back to Salem.
Larry: "Larry Welch sailed away with Hope"? Ha ha ha ha. You know, you never cease to amaze me. How the hell did you do that? There is not one single sharp item in this room.
Hope: You got careless. You dropped a bullet cartridge.
Larry: Yeah. Any her little missives I should know about?
Larry: Get up.
Hope: Ow! You're hurting me.
Larry: Yeah, well... here. Take them. Go on. No -- and scratch out your handiwork, and make it fast.
Larry: Think I'll, uh, look for myself to see what other messages you may have written. Knowing you... there's probably all kinds of stuff.
Larry: Well, it looks clean to me.
Larry: Very good. Nice work. You try attacking me again, and I swear to God, you'll be joining your good friend Lexie on the other side. Do you understand me? Everybody thinks you're dead, anyway.
Hope: You kill me, and all your fun comes to an end.
Larry: Hand me the keys. Come on. No funny stuff. Now. All right. We're outta here. Let's go. Ladies first.
Hope: Where are we going?
Larry: Someplace where nobody will ever find you. Now move it.
Judge Segal: Beauregard Brady, please stand. I am accepting the charge of murder in the first degree against you in the death of Alexandra Carver. Bail is hereby denied. You are to be remanded to the custody of the department of corrections for the duration of the trial.
Shawn-D: No! No, you can't do this! Lexie kidnapped my mother! She killed my mom!
Judge Segal: Guard, take that young man out of here now.
Mickey: Your honor, I'll handle it, your honor.
Judge Segal: See that you do. This court is now adjourned.
Bailiff: All rise.
Abe: All right, let's get out of here. Come on.
Man #2: All righty, let's go. Let's go.
Bo: Let me say goodbye to my son.
Shawn-D: Dad, Dad.
Bo: It's all right.
Bo: It's all right. I'm going to be okay. You take care of your brother.
Shawn-D: We can't do this without you.
Bo: Yes, you can. You got the family to count on -- all of them.
Man #2: It's time.
Bo: I love you. I love you and Zack. Never forget that.
Mickey: It's all right. It's all right.
