Days of Our Lives Transcript Thursday 5/16/02
Nicole: Hey. You were expecting me.
Brandon: Yeah, I just, uh...
Nicole: Thinking about something else?
Brandon: I warned Lexie. I told her this was going to happen.
Nicole: What do you mean, you warned her? How could you have known, unless -- oh, my God, Brandon. I hope you didn't have anything to do with Lexie Carver trying to take her baby and run.
Shawn: There she is.
Sami: Hi. Where is everybody?
Shawn: I guess we don't count, huh?
Sami: Grandpa, that's not what I meant.
Roman: You just missed the guests of honor.
Sami: They left already?
Shawn: And Lexie Carver.
Sami: She ruined their party?
Roman: Well, Bo and Hope were in a hurry to leave, anyway.
Shawn: Yeah, they're going to Paris.
Roman: They think it's the best place to get some answers about Isaac's biological father.
Sami: Ooh, do we think it's a good idea for them to have those answers?
Roman: Well, I'm not sure it's any of our business, Sami.
Shawn: Well, I can't say, you know, that this dredging up the past don't make me nervous, but I can't blame them, you know, for wanting to know.
Sami: So they're leaving like now, or what?
Roman: Victor let them use his airplane.
Sami: Oh, don't mention his name.
Roman: Why? Sami, you didn't make more of an enemy of Victor, did you? What was it about this time?
Colin: This has to be the most abbreviated Brady festivity I've ever attended.
Jennifer: What, the guests of honor are gone, and the party's over?
Colin: Do you see me going anywhere?
Jennifer: You and Bo seem to be getting along better.
Colin: Temporary truce. It's a happy day when a new child is brought into the Brady clan, even if he is almost 2 years old.
Jennifer: You seemed upset when Bo and Hope decided to go to Europe and look for answers about Hope's past.
Colin: What? Were you watching me?
Jack: [Thinking] I have to put a stop to this Colin Murphy business before Jennifer gets in over her head.
Philip: A date with Cynthia? You've got to be -- is this some kind of new way to punish me?
Chloe: You said you'd do anything. Besides, it's for Belle and Shawn, and it's the only thing we haven't tried.
Philip: Well, it's not going to work, because I'm not getting near Cynthia, not after what she did to break us up.
Chloe: Well, I don't blame her, but I will blame you if Belle and Shawn's life is ruined forever because you could have done something to help, and you didn't.
Shawn-D: Um, did your parents leave?
Belle: Oh, uh, yeah.
Shawn-D: Are you going to need a ride home later?
Belle: No, thanks.
Shawn-D: Well, I'm glad you stayed. Can I take this as a good sign?
Belle: What do you mean?
Shawn-D: For us.
Jan: Oh, Shawn, there you are! I've been looking all over for you.
Brandon: Nicky, come on. I mean, I had nothing to do with Lexie trying to leave the country.
Nicole: But you knew something about it.
Brandon: Honestly, I didn't. I just had a feeling. I mean, we all had a feeling. So I warned her not to try anything.
Nicole: And last night at your place? Come on, Brandon, I'm your sister. You can't lie to me. You were acting weird.
Brandon: I had a long day.
Nicole: Okay. If that's what you have to say, then I believe you. But don't let it get you down. Don't let Mom do it to you all over again.
Nicole: Yeah. You had to be her protector, right? And mine. And now you want to save every woman you meet -- Sami, Lexie. You don't need any more trouble with the law or Abe Carver.
Brandon: Hey, who's the psychologist here, Nicky? Let me be the one to give the cheap advice, okay?
Nicole: All right. Don't get upset. I was just worried about you.
Brandon: I know. I'm sorry. Like I said, I had a long day. Hey, enough about me. What's going on with you?
Nicole: Well, since you're so desperate to change the subject, allow me to spread some cheer. And you better think this is cheery. Actually, I was afraid this is why you were upset, but you really don't know, do you?
Brandon: Do I? I have no idea what you're talking about.
Nicole: Sami Brady -- yesterday I was an eyewitness to her ultimate demise.
Sami: Look, Dad, you know that Victor and I have never gotten along.
Sami: That's all.
Roman: That's all?
Shawn: Sami, well, I've never liked the man, either, you know? I mean, and I've certainly locked horns with him.
Sami: And won.
Shawn: Well, in a manner of speaking, you know, but... life's too short to carry a grudge, you know? I mean, your father's right. It does no good to be Victor's opponent. And right now he's helping our family. You remember that, and you take care.
Sami: Helping our family? Yeah, right.
Roman: Sami, what is going on? Have you been crying?
Roman: Is it Austin?
Sami: No, Dad, it -- it's Will. He misses Austin, and Lucas is a sorry substitute, but he lives across the hall, so he and Kate are always encouraging Will to ask if he can go over there. That's where he is right now, Dad, and I hate it.
Shawn: Can I get you anything?
Jennifer: Oh, no, thanks. I'm great.
Colin: Me too. Thanks for including me in the party today.
Shawn: Well, I'm glad to see you and Bo mending fences, you know?
Colin: That's what Jen just said. It's high time we decide the past is past. Otherwise, we may miss some lovely opportunities in the present, right, Jen?
Shawn: Well, I have a feeling that when Bo gets this business with Isaac straightened out, then all the rest of it will be forgotten.
Colin: Thanks for agreeing with me about the past. I hope that means you're willing to forget.
Jack: [Thinking] Forget? Forget what? Who is this Dr. Murphy, and what does he really want with you, Jennifer? I have to find out.
Philip: I don't get how you think it can help. Spending time with Cynthia is only asking for trouble.
Chloe: What, you think you can't control yourself?
Philip: I didn't say that. Believe me, the only thing I have to control myself is from killing her.
Chloe: Yeah, well, for some reason, she still wants you. I don't know why, but we can definitely use it to our advantage. [Coughing]
Philip: Are you okay?
Chloe: Yeah, I'm fine.
Philip: That sounds bad.
Chloe: Mimi, tell him the plan. [Coughing continues]
Mimi: She said she's fine, Philip. Just a sore throat. Now get with the program. Don't you want to prove to the world what a lying, conniving, scheming witch Jan Spears really is?
Shawn-D: So, what are you doing here?
Jan: Well, I was looking for you. After school I couldn't find you. I guess that's why you didn't get a chance to tell me about this party.
Shawn-D: Yeah, well, the party's almost over now, and I'm probably going to have to stick around and help my grandparents clean up, so why don't you go, and I will meet up with you later.
Jan: Yeah, okay. At home, right?
Shawn-D: Yeah, or whatever.
Belle: You know what, Shawn? I'll help your grandparents clean up. Why don't you and Jan go... home together?
Nicole: So, do you want to hear about Sami or not?
Brandon: Well, apparently you're going to tell me regardless. So...
Nicole: Well, maybe I won't. You don't seem too interested, which, I guess, is a good thing really. Maybe she's totally out of your system. She didn't come running to you for help last night.
Brandon: Help with what?
Nicole: I'm sure she told you about the tape -- the one Lucas made of Sami confessing to every evil thing she ever did.
Brandon: Yeah, she wanted me to help her find it. I said no. I guess she didn't have any luck.
Nicole: Mm. She did. Or at least she thought she did. Of course, Sami was gloating, and Kate and Lucas were miserable about it, but guess who really had the tape.
Nicole: No. Victor. And he leveled her with it. He really brought her to her knees.
Brandon: How do you know all this?
Nicole: Kate and Lucas and I were lucky enough to be a captive audience.
Brandon: But you and Victor aren't together anymore. Why would he invite you to come see --
Nicole: Hey, hey, hey, what's with all the questions about me and Victor? So, can I take it to mean that you don't really care what happened to Sami?
Brandon: You don't have to tell me. She was devastated. I warned her, too, that her little games and tricks were gonna catch up to her. But she didn't want to listen. And then all that crazy stuff about trying to keep Will from his dad, who he loves. I mean, that is going to be one screwed-up kid if they don't watch it. Oh, well. Not my problem anymore.
Nicole: You just go on and on about it because you're all right with it? The truth, Brandon. If Sami comes sobbing back, you're not going to feel sorry for her, you're not going to wish you'd have helped her, you're not going to try and help her now, are you?
Sami: Mm-hmm. Hey.
Caroline: Oh, hi. Did you get anything to eat?
Sami: Mm, I'm not hungry.
Caroline: Where's Will? Sami. What is it? Oh, come over here, darling. Come on, sit down.
Sami: Well, grandma, Will is with Lucas. Kate and Lucas are out to ruin my life, and they won't stop until they do.
Caroline: Sami, nobody can ruin your life except you.
Sami: Don't give me that, grandma. They're trying to take my son away from me.
Caroline: You have legal custody of Will. They signed to that. You are in control.
Victor: First of all, I'm not going to make the tape public. And this is what you're going to do in return. When school is out, Will goes to his father... for the summer. For the whole summer. Now, that won't begin to make up for the time you stole from Will and his father, but it's a beginning.
Lucas: Thank you, Victor. Thank you very much.
Victor: The other tape in Mickey's safe will be turned over, along with all copies, to be destroyed. The agreement that Lucas signed under duress is hereby null and void, now and for all time. Papers will be drawn up to reflect the changes. That's the deal, Sami. Take it or leave it. You have 30 seconds to make up your mind.
Sami: I don't need 10 seconds. The answer is no, Victor, so you can take your terms and shove them, because there is no way that I will agree.
Caroline: Sami, furthermore, how good is this acrimony for Will? He loves his mother, he loves his father. Now you two have got to find a way to work this out.
Sami: You didn't tell Bo and Hope that they had to find a way to work it out with Lexie.
Sami: Well, Grandma, Isaac loves Abe and Lexie, but he's going to be raised by Bo and Hope. And I'm thrilled for them and everything, but you have to admit that a child's best interest isn't always what we're thinking about all the time. You can't make everybody happy...ever.
Caroline: Oh, is that what you're teaching your son?
Sami: Grandma --
Caroline: Sami, look, it doesn't do any good for you -- or for anybody, but especially you -- to obsess about something. I think you ought to focus on somebody else's problems. You know what they say? The way to forget your troubles is to help somebody else.
Sami: What, should I help Lucas try to take my son away from me?
Caroline: I wasn't talking about Lucas. There are other people in the world besides you and your son and your immediate family. I love you, Sami, and that's why I want to clue you in that you are more than a little self-obsessed, you know? Why don't you try to broaden your horizon, huh? Look around. Isn't there someone who could benefit from your boundless energy? You think about that.
Sami: Help someone?
Colin: Chloe... are you feeling all right?
Chloe: You're my doctor. You tell me.
Colin: Well, according to your tests, you should be on the mend. Throat still bothering you?
Chloe: Yeah, and I still can't sing.
Colin: Craig told me you missed your audition in New York. I'm very sorry. I know how much you had invested in that opportunity.
Chloe: Yeah, but there's not much I can do now. I just wish I would feel better.
Colin: Give it some time now.
Chloe: Yeah, I know. Thanks.
Philip: Hey, who -- who was that guy, anyhow?
Chloe: Uh, a Brady cousin.
Mimi: Chloe's hottie Doctor Colin Murphy. I'm so jealous.
Chloe: Do you want to be sick? You can take my place, and I'll go to New York and audition with a healthy throat and leave Dr. Murphy's bedside manner to you.
Philip: Are you sure everything's okay?
Chloe: That depends on your answer.
Mimi: Oh, well, I'm just wrapping up the pitch. See, Philip, Chloe and I are sure Jan's lying about how she lost the baby. Now, who would she have told the truth to?
Philip: Her good friend Cynthia?
Mimi: Now, if we can prove that Jan set Belle up, maybe Belle and Shawn can start to work things out.
Chloe: Yeah. They belong together, and two people who belong together should be together, don't you think?
Philip: Yeah. Yeah, I've always thought so.
Mimi: Look at the way this has gotten me and Chloe to work together. I mean, if we can bond over this, don't you think anything's possible?
Jan: Belle, it's really nice you offered to clean up. It would really help. You see, I'm kind of way behind in school because -- well, you know. Anyway, um, Shawn, he promised he'd tutor me. So, um, you ready to go?
Shawn-D: Look, I know I promised, but this party was a surprise to me as well, okay, and it's my family, so I can't exactly just check out anytime.
Belle: You know what? Shawn, the rest of your family is already gone, and the only person here that you're really obligated to is Jan. Don't worry about cleaning up on your way out. Just go.
Jan: Wow, I can't believe how helpful Belle is being. I'd almost say nice, except she's probably trying to make up for what she did to me -- and the baby.
Shawn-D: Yeah, okay, you know what? Can we just go?
Chloe: Look at her, Philip. When you're with Cynthia, just remember that you're doing this for Belle.
Mimi: And Chloe. You're doing it for Chloe.
Jack: Excuse me. I couldn't help but notice that you've been paying an awful lot of attention to Jennifer, and I just thought you should know that she's taken.
Colin: Yes, I'm well aware. She's seeing Brandon Walker.
Brandon: I told you, Nicky, Samantha had this coming. I mean, I helped her get her little boy back, but she decided her future was with Austin. Well, she lost Austin, she lost me, and she's probably going to lose Will. And is it awful of me to say that all my sympathy's been used up?
Nicole: I think it's quite wonderful.
Brandon: I did care about her, Nicky. You know that. I thought maybe we could still be friends, but now that Austin's gone, I'm not letting her use me again.
Nicole: And I'm not going to let her hurt you again.
Brandon: Neither am I.
Nicole: I have to admit, I'm awfully relieved, but a teeny bit worried. Sami's at her all-time low right now, with no big, strong man to lean on, and what do you think she's going to do?
Brandon: Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
Nicole: Good. [Cell phone rings] [Ring]
Brandon: Hello? Where are you? Okay. Yeah, I could do that. I'll be there soon. Me too. Bye.
Nicole: Oh, that was fast. Sami calls, and you go running.
Brandon: And what makes you think it was Samantha?
Nicole: Oh, it wasn't?
Brandon: No. I got to go.
Nicole: Wait a minute. Then who was it? Since when do you keep secrets from your sister?
Brandon: Since when do you tell me how to look out for myself?
Nicole: Since now, and be warned, I will be checking up on you.
Brandon: [Sighs] Nicky, Samantha and I work together. I can't avoid her. But I know how to handle her. Believe me. I got to go.
Colin: Sorry about that.
Jennifer: You know, I am capable of being alone for five minutes. I am really a rather self-sufficient person, believe it or not.
Colin: Jennifer, I know that.
Jennifer: I heard you talking to Jack about my being taken, and I really don't think it's any of your business, okay?
Colin: Jennifer, I was --
Jennifer: No, I know Jack was the one asking the question and you were just replying, but you know what? Once upon a time in Africa, I was taken, and I persuaded myself to get un-taken and follow you to Ireland. And not that I regret leaving Jack...
Colin: But you regret following me.
Jennifer: Of course I do. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go over to the bar for a little bit.
Colin: Ditching me, as the yanks say.
Jennifer: I believe that's your specialty.
Jack: Ha ha. Hi-de-ho there, Captain.
Roman: Well, hi-de-ho to you, Jack. Cop shop's closed, though, so no hard-hitting questions about the pooper-scooper laws, all right?
Jack: I've moved on to a bigger story, thank you.
Roman: You know, actually, I do want to thank you for the wonderful article you wrote about Isaac in the paper today, although I'm sure that Jennifer was totally responsible for the respectful tone.
Jack: I see congeniality runs in the family. Say, what's with the sour new cousin?
Roman: Well, he's not a new cousin, Jack, although I don't really know him very well.
Jack: Phoniest Irish accent I ever heard. Actually, it sounds down under-ish.
Roman: He went to school in Australia.
Roman: Wait a minute. What the hell am I telling you this for? I mean, the only reason you're fishing for information is because your ex-wife got a little cozy with the guy today.
Jack: Jennifer is the mother of my child. Do you actually expect me to allow a man with a shady past to spend time around Abigail?
Roman: Well, don't worry about it, Jack. You spend a lot of time around Abigail, and she's still a very lovely little girl.
Jack: Thank you.
Sami: What, do you work here now, Belle?
Belle: No, no, I'm just helping out.
Sami: You know, my grandma and grandpa hire people to do that.
Belle: Yeah, well, I promised Shawn I would.
Sami: You promised Shawn?
Belle: Yeah, so he could take Jan home and get her out of my face.
Sami: Did you want to get Shawn out of your face, too? Obviously not, or you would have gone home with Mom and John, am I right?
Belle: Maybe I wanted to spend time with my big sister.
Sami: I don't think so.
Belle: Actually, Sami, I did. And it doesn't really matter how I feel about Shawn, because the things that have happened -- nothing can make them better. I'm sorry that Jan lost her baby. I'm sorry that I lost Shawn. I guess he's sorry he slept with Jan, although there are times that I do wonder. But that's just how things are.
Sami: They don't have to be.
Belle: I don't see how they can change.
Sami: There is always a way to change things. This Jan chick, is she the one who always used to pull your hair in kindergarten?
Belle: Yes, I had to beg you not to beat her up during recess.
Sami: Well, I don't see why she should get away with it now. Belle, you are old enough to fight your own battles.
Belle: Sami, Jan is still living in Shawn's house. She is a part of his life obviously because he still wants her to be. Now, besides being disgusted, I don't know what else I can do about it.
Sami: Hey, listen, once you learn a few simple things, you can get a guy to do practically anything. You may be smarter in school than I am, little sister, but there are still a few things I can teach you. Trust me. You have got to do this the Sami Brady way.
Jan: You're awfully quiet, Shawn. I mean, didn't you have a good time at your parents' party?
Shawn-D: Yeah, it was great.
Jan: You know, maybe we should find someplace else to study besides home. It's awfully noisy there, you know, with the new baby crying a lot and all.
Shawn-D: We're not going to have to worry about that after tonight, 'cause my parents are, uh, taking Isaac to Europe.
Jan: Really? You mean we'll have the house all to ourselves? That'll be so cozy. Just the two of us?
Belle: Look, Sami, please don't take this the wrong way, okay? Thanks, but no thanks. There is no use trying to help because I give up. I'm giving up on Shawn.
Sami: Don't say those words. Never give up -- that's my motto. Now say it with me. Never give up.
Belle: Sami, I appreciate what you're trying to do, really. But I'm just -- I'm not ready. Everything seems pretty cleaned up, so I'm going to go say goodbye to my friends. I will be right back.
Philip: Okay, if I were to do this, it would be because I care about Belle. I don't expect anything in return, except you better not find a way to blame me later for being with Cynthia.
Chloe: Is that what you think I do, blame you for stuff when you're totally innocent?
Philip: Well, yeah, you might. I can think of one time --
Mimi: Okay, guys, stop.
Philip: I'm sorry. It's just -- she can't even talk to me until she wants something from me. And this is a big deal. It's a huge deal. How can you both act like it's not?
Mimi: I know it is, Philip, and we wouldn't ask if we could think of any other way.
Philip: Look, you know I would do anything for Belle, but this is --
Belle: Hey, did I just hear my name?
Philip: Yeah, we were just just --
Belle: Look, I'm just going to go home, so I'll see you all later?
Chloe: Oh, okay.
Chloe and Mimi: Bye.
Philip: I thought she was doing better.
Mimi: Jan was here. Did you see the way she ruined it between Belle and Shawn when they finally had a nice moment together? And it'll get worse, you know.
Philip: Worse? How can it get worse?
Mimi: What lie do you think Jan will tell Shawn next? She's not going to get what she wants from him, so she's going to try something else. I know how her mind works, unfortunately. We have to stop her, Philip.
Chloe: You have to.
Brandon: I can't believe you followed me. Trust me, you are not going to be at all surprised or excited when you see who I'm meeting.
Nicole: Oh, Brandon, it is Sami.
Brandon: I give up.
Jennifer: Hey. That was fast.
Brandon: Yeah. I'm so glad you called. I really wanted to see you.
Jennifer: Yeah, well, that makes two of us.
Colin: Well, self-sufficient Jennifer. Mm, so this is who you ditched me for, eh?
Nicole: Oh, so this is who called you.
Brandon: I can't believe you did this.
Nicole: What? What did I do?
Jennifer: Well, I obviously didn't ditch you, Colin, because here you are. Hey, Nicole.
Colin: Hi. I wasn't aware you were family friends.
Jennifer: You know, it's -- it's a little crowded. Do you want to go sit over at the bar?
Brandon: Yeah, good idea.
Nicole: You're right. I'm not a family friend, and pub fare isn't exactly my meal of choice. There's a party going on here, I take it.
Colin: Yeah, for my cousin Bo and Hope.
Nicole: Ah. Who are not here, I see.
Colin: And why are you here?
Nicole: I was following my brother.
Nicole: Well, call me overprotective, but I was afraid he was meeting Sami Brady who is definitely not good for him, but I see he's just here for Jennifer, and that is a-ok by me. But it doesn't look like that's okay with you.
Colin: Nicole, I'm sorry I had to cancel our dinner date last night, but I'd like to make it up to you. May I start by buying you a drink?
Sami: Ahem. Hey, Brandon.
Sami: That's it. I'm going home.
Roman: What's wrong?
Sami: Never mind. I'm not supposed to be focusing on my own problems.
Roman: Says who?
Sami: Grandma. And I tried, but mine keep coming back to haunt me.
Roman: Well, you know what? I think your grandmother's advice sounds pretty good. Why don't you try it again?
Brandon: Thank you.
Jennifer: You know, I really think that Sami wanted to talk to you.
Brandon: Yeah, well, maybe, but I'm occupied right now. You look tired.
Jennifer: Thank you. I, uh, I pulled an all-nighter at the newspaper last night.
Brandon: Is that going to be routine?
Jennifer: Oh, gosh, I hope not, but I have to tell you, Brandon, it really was one of the most exciting, exhilarating nights of my entire life, and that started me thinking about you. 'Cause, you know, you were so excited for me to get this job, and that really means a lot to me. And I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to celebrate.
Brandon: Well, me too, but the family emergency's over now, right? And couldn't have had a better ending, so let's reschedule and make it a double celebration.
Jennifer: Oh, that's great.
Brandon: No work tonight?
Jennifer: No. Oh, you want to do it tonight? That's perfect.
Brandon: Tuscany good for you?
Jennifer: Yeah, that's my favorite. Thank you so much for doing this for me.
Brandon: No, it's for both of us. When you're happy, I'm happy. You know, I'm so glad that you are finally getting out of the house, doing what you were meant to with your life. Pick you up at 8:00?
Jennifer: Uh, you know, we could meet there.
Brandon: Jen, I, um, I know you want to protect Abigail, but if you're going to date, eventually, she has to know. I mean, if you're not ready yet, that's cool. But now that Jack's not there anymore, is it really not okay for me to come to the house?
Jennifer: No, no. It's fine.
Brandon: Good. That way, we can make it a real date. You sure you're okay with that?
Jennifer: Yeah, yeah.
Brandon: Okay. Here's to tonight.
Nicole: Thank you.
Colin: So, about that dinner date...
Colin: Are you free tonight?
Nicole: I am.
Colin: Mm. Do you like Tuscany fare?
Nicole: I love it.
Colin: 8:00 -- Tuscany fare.
Philip: Chloe, you have no faith in me. You don't think I'm going to do right by Belle or by you. So I'm thinking, you know, there's really no way that I can fix either one of those things, especially by hanging around with Cynthia. I can't stand her! I mean, what's it going to take for me to get her to tell me Jan's secrets, if she even knows them? I don't want to kiss her, Chloe. And I don't want to touch her. You're the only girl I want to be with.
Chloe: Philip, you saw the way that Belle looked when she left here. She was devastated, and you are the only one who can change that. You didn't want to be with Cynthia the first time, either, did you? I know that, but you still did it. If you could do it for the wrong reason, I'm sure that you could do it for the right reason. Look, you want me to believe that you are a good person, a good friend. Then for once in your life, stop putting yourself first. Can you do that or not?
Shawn-D: What do you mean the house will be cozy?
Jan: Oh, well, you know, I can take care of you for once, and I can cook for you and --
Shawn-D: Actually, you don't have to worry about that because we won't be alone at all. Gran's going to be staying with us.
Jan: What? We'll have to get rid of her.
Sami: Belle. Hey, Belle. I had a feeling you would be here. I just wanted to make sure that you were...okay.
Sami: This is too much.
Belle: Sami -- I go to school with these people. It's every day. I'm used to it.
Sami: Belle, there is a difference between being noble and being a doormat.
Belle: I am not a doormat.
Sami: Then stop acting like one.
Sami: Someone has worked very hard to steal your guy. The least you could do is work a little bit harder to get him back.
Shawn-D: What did you just say?
Jan: Um, I mean, your Gran -- how old is she? The last thing she needs to be doing is chaperoning us. We're practically adults. I mean, we were almost parents ourselves. What do we need a babysitter for? Don't your mom and dad trust you?
Shawn-D: Well, I guess they don't trust me, Jan. And I think you know why. Plus, my Gran is great, so I'm not quite sure what your problem is.
Jan: I-I'm sorry. I just -- I guess I'm not used to people looking after me or caring about what I do. As long as she doesn't mind -- Miss Horton, I mean -- it'll be great. She -- she's great.
Jan: You know, Shawn, um, why don't we go home now?
Sami: Belle, come on. Shawn is a great guy who made a really stupid mistake. You know, you don't want to lose him over this. Let me help you steal him back from Jan.
Belle: Sami, I have to go study. Thanks for trying to help, but I really don't think so. I'll just see you later, okay?
Sami: Okay. It's your loss. See you later. Belle, at least one of us deserves to be happy. I know how this Jan person thinks, and believe me, you have got to fight fire with fire.
Chloe: Forget it. He's not going to do it.
Philip: Oh, yes, I am. I'll do it. I'll date Cynthia.
Mimi: Thank you, Philip.
Philip: Well, don't thank me yet. You don't know if it's going to work.
Mimi: I know it will. Good always wins out over evil. So we have a secret alliance. Bye-bye, Jan. Shawn and Belle, unite!
Chloe: What are you doing?
Mimi: We're making a deal.
Nicole: I'm looking forward to our date tonight.
Colin: Well, I'm glad you're available. A beautiful and intelligent woman like yourself, free on such short notice.
Nicole: Well, I'm very particular.
Colin: Well, I'll take that as a compliment.
Nicole: You definitely should.
Jack: Oh! I am -- I am so sorry.
Jennifer: Can we move, please? It's really crowded over here, also.
Brandon: Yeah, what do you say we get a table?
Jennifer: Yes, I'm starved. Thank you.
Jack: Ah, question -- uh, how long do we get for lunch? Because I don't recall it being longer than --
Jennifer: It was 15 minutes when you were the boss. Now it's an hour, and your hour is up.
Jack: But you got here before I did. Don't you think you should be running along, too?
Jennifer: No, because I'm the boss. So why don't you be running along, and I will meet up with you later maybe?
Jack: First Brandon, and now Colin. My hands are certainly full. Not to worry. Nothing I can't handle. Tuscany, Tuscany, Tuscany. Hello, hello. This is Jack Deveraux. Yes, that Jack Deveraux. I would like a, uh, table for two tonight. About 8:00-ish. Uh, something not too close to the kitchen. A table with a view would be nice. What do you mean "a view of what"? The action, of course, the action! Yes, that would serve very well. Yes, I'll take it.
