Marlena: Things could be worse. I'm just not sure how. She and Bo had a very bad night. I encouraged her to call him at work and tell him how much she loves him and needs him, and he doesn't even want to hear from her. I'm worried, John. Is this the end of Bo and Hope's marriage?
Hope: Okay, sweetie, now Mommy is going to put this one here and put this one here. There we go, huh?
Bo: Everything we had together -- everything we used to have as a couple -- ended tonight... For good.
Sami: Oh, dad, isn't this the cutest?
Roman: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Good luck getting -- talking Will into wearing that thing.
Sami: Come on, it's just a tux. He's going to look adorable.
Roman: Whoa, whoa. Will's a guy here, all right? Us guys are not into looking adorable. We want to be tough.
Sami: He's just a little Bo-- you're teasing me, aren't you, dad? Stop it!
Roman: Of course -- of course I'm teasing you. Will's going to wear that tux just like I'm going to wear my tux. It'll drive us nuts tying those darn bow ties.
Sami: Well, I'll get will a clip-on.
Roman: Yeah, okay.
Sami: Besides, he's going to want to wear the tux 'cause Austinís going to have one just like it. They'll be twins. Will idolizes Austin. I'm finally going to have my family together -- my son and the man that I love, the two men I love most in the world. And you are another one. Will is very lucky to have you as his grandpa.
Roman: You know, Sami, that, uh, I'm not Will's only grandparent.
Sami: No, of course not. Mom's the best.
Roman: Yes, she is, so let me put it another way. Your mom and I are not Will's only grandparents.
Sami: Will doesn't have any other grandparents, dad. Ahem.
Roman: Sami, you can't pretend that people don't exist.
Sami: I can sure try.
Roman: All right, you're talking about having your family all together, okay? Well, if you intend to do that -- if you really mean that -- then it's time to include everybody, and that means Kate.
Nicole: I have a reputation for being tough. Is that what you're saying? But if Mr. Permalash thinks that means Iím not compassionate, you will have to change his mind.
Austin: Okay, see, his name is Karl Liszt.
Nicole: I know his name. All right, Iím not being too defensive, am I?
Austin: Okay, do you mind if I do some interviews with the senior staff, get a lead on some of their charitable contributions, maybe make some suggestions on how to boost our compassion profile?
Nicole: Well, Victor is always pulling out his checkbook for charity. Ask Marie for a list of Victor's donations. Show Karl the list, and he will fall in love with Titan Enterprises.
Austin: Okay, there is no easy way to tell you this, okay? When it comes to love, Karl -- Mr. Permalash -- is a one-woman guy, and that woman happens to be my mom.
Nicole: Kate? [Groans]
John: Well, maybe I should try having another talk with Bo.
Marlena: I don't think that's the answer.
John: You mean because he blames me.
Marlena: Betrayal is a very powerful force. We all knew about it except Bo.
Brady: We didn't all know.
John: Brady, what are you doing here?
Brady: You two keep forgetting that I live here. Don't worry. I didn't find out about the secret just now. Chloe and I heard you all freaking out about it after Lexieís party.
Marlena: You didn't tell Belle --
Brady: No. I haven't told Belle. Not yet. But, you see, if I don't tell her, she's going to find out some other way. It's just a matter of time.
Bo: Hey there, big guy. How you doing, huh? You're a little sleepy today? I think it's time for your bed--
Bo: Yes, it is.
Hope: What is it, sweetheart? Hey, Iíll take him up. He needs to be changed anyway.
Bo: No. I'll do it. I'll do it. We need some one-on-one anyway, right? Let's go. Let's go.
Sami: As far as Iím concerned, as far as my son is concerned, that woman does not exist.
Roman: Rewriting history doesn't work.
Sami: I can make it work.
Roman: Still, Sami, Kate is Austin and Lucasís mother.
Sami: Well, that is their problem, okay? I can't believe you've forgotten all the terrible things that she did to me.
Roman: I haven't forgotten a damn thing, sweetheart, but I also remember a lot of things you did -- all the laws you broke, the lies you told. Now, Iím happy as can be that you've settled down and mended your ways, so to speak. I always knew you had a good heart, but you didn't always act like it.
Sami: So you're comparing me to Kate now?
Roman: Sami, I'm just saying that sometimes people can see the light and change. It happened with you.
Sami: I can't believe you're taking her side.
Roman: When it comes to family, there should be no sides.
Sami: Yeah, well, there are. The lines were drawn a long time ago, dad. I'm on one side, and she's on the other, so you better choose really quick. You're either with me or you're against me.
Nicole: Ooh, Austin, I can't believe this. Kate has her hooks in Mr. Permalash? Since when?
Austin: Okay, I don't have the details, but let's just say that she has a whopping head start.
Nicole: Oh, damn it, Austin, are you telling me that your mother is going to steal this account from us?
Kate: Ha ha. Well, it's been wonderful talking to you, too, Karl. Mm-hmm.. I can't wait to see you again. Okay. Bye-bye. Well, kid, looks like you've still got it. No, as a matter of fact, you are better than ever. Mm. Ah, Victor. You better watch out, because first, I'm going to take this account away from you, and then Iím going to take Philip away from you as well. That's called revenge, baby, and boy, oh, boy, will it be sweet.
John: So, Chloe knows, also. How the hell did that happen?
Brady: Chloe was with me when the two of us saw you and Shawnís father going at it with each other. Cat's out of the bag. Belle's going to find out.
Marlena: All the times we've talked about this, this is the one thing I never let myself imagine. I'm worried about Bo and Hope's marriage, I'm worried about our marriage, but the thought of Belle ever finding out the truth... She's had so little experience. How can she possibly understand this?
Brady: Do you? I mean, correct me if Iím wrong here, but what this all means is that you, dad, had sex with Shawnís mother. Is that about right? Hello? Dad, do you have anything to say for yourself, or do you want me to draw my own conclusions? Because, believe me, the ones that come to mind are pretty ugly. What happened to this perfect marriage that you two supposedly have? Because I-I actually thought we had a shot at becoming an all-American family -- a long shot, at that. But in spite of myself, I've been coming around. And then... Wham! I find myself in the middle of an episode of "Peyton Place." How could you do this, dad? How could you sleep with Hope?
John: Obviously, nothing I say to you is going to cut any ice.
Brady: You are the father of Hope's baby, dad. That's kind of tough to explain away, don't you think?
John: Listen to me. There are things about me that you don't know, son -- things about my life, things about... My past. And I'm not going into it right now with you. All you need to know is DiMera had a hand in this, and Hope and I were being controlled without our knowledge.
Brady: Without your knowledge? You're telling me you didn't have a choice?
John: That's a fact. I did not have a choice. We were just DiMeraís victims, that's all.
Brady: This is all in the past. There's nothing going on between you and Hope now.
John: Actually, no. Something did happen between Hope and me at the party -- that's why this whole thing blew up, but once again, DiMera had his hand in it.
Brady: Dad, Stefano DiMera does not even live in Salem!
John: Damn it, it was his house! No. I'm going to tell you something, son. I'm not going to take you from "a" to "b" on this thing, all right? Obviously, there's not too much I can say that's going to erase all your doubts, or yours, either. I know that. All I can do is to show the two of you how much I love you each and every day. That's the only proof that I can give you.
Hope: You going to sleep?
Hope: Bo... Thank you for coming home. I mean, you know, I-I wasn't sure, because when, uh, I-I called before, you said you might not and... I'm glad you're here. I missed you. You know how I hate being alone, and when I thought you might not be here -- I mean, coming home -- and when you said that --
Bo: I was mad. It came out. That'll probably happen a lot.
Hope: It's okay.
Bo: I'm not used to feeling like this with you.
Hope: Like what?
Bo: Disappointed, angry.
Hope: You love me, Brady. Love doesn't just go away.
Bo: You lied to me over and over again. You woke up lying, you went to bed lying. I didn't hint around. I asked you flat out if you knew who J.T.'s father was. You said no.. I asked you point-blank, "is John Black his father?" You said no. I held you in my arms, you looked in my eyes, and you lied to me.
Hope: Keep going. Whatever you want to say to me, just go ahead. Get as angry as you need to, because it's a lot better than your silence. I need you, Brady. Okay, maybe you don't think I have a right to say that after what I did, but... My love is stronger than ever. So you go right ahead and take as much time as you need to work through your feelings. Yell at me as much as you want to. Just don't leave -- me. I'll wait as long as it takes.
Bo: Well, if you're waiting to wake up like this is some kind of dream, I got news for you.
Hope: I have faith in us -- faith in our love. We'll get back to the way we were. I know we will.
Bo: In what universe, Hope? How many times do I have to say it? How many different ways? Things will never be the same for us.
Nicole: As Kateís son, you are Titan's ace in the hole. You are our secret weapon. Now, do what you have to do to make sure that Kate doesn't land Permalash.
Austin: I was afraid you were going to say that.
Nicole: Austin, going head-to-head with your mother and beating her is so good for you. It'll toughen you up. I mean, think of it as a self-improvement project.
Austin: Okay, so this means Iím alone on Permalash.
Nicole: No, no, no, I will be here to bounce things off of. I will check on you periodically, but as of now, Austin, I have too much on my plate. However, I do need to eat lunch, and if you would like to join me, we could plot out some opening moves.
Austin: No. I can't do lunch. Actually, there's something I have to take care of right now. I just remembered.
John: I hope that you know I love you, son. Nothing's ever going to change that.
Brady: You love J.T., too?
John: It's a fair question. I'm wondering what you want the answer to be..
Brady: Hey, why don't you try the truth?
John: It's a complicated situation, son. Yes, I love J.T. However, Iím not free to show that love the way I am with the rest of my children, and that's very painful for me.
Brady: Well, dad, you can't have everything. God knows you've certainly been trying.
John: Well, I can see you're not going to cut me any slack on this, are you? Do you think Belle is going to react the same way?
Brady: I'm not saying Iím a man of the world or anything, but I am older than Belle, and I've been around. And, dad, quite honestly, I'm struggling to understand what the hell you've done.
John: I'm sorry that you're having to go through this.
Brady: I know you are. I know you're sorry. But the fact is, you've slept with a woman who is practically family. You had a child with this woman and then lied to her husband about it. Dad, this is too huge, even for me, to understand. How the hell is my sister going to deal with it?
John: Listen, she's not naive. She knows that her parents aren't perfect people.
Brady: Are you kidding? Belle worships you. And for Belle to find out that you slept with Hope Brady, not to mention she's dating Hope's son -- jeez, she's crazy about Shawn! This is going to turn her whole world upside down! That's just not fair, dad!
John: Well, you know what? It's unfair for all of us. God knows I have asked Marlena to accept things no other woman should ever have to. And now I am asking you to forgive something you can't even understand. At least I know you can handle it, son. I'm just not sure about Belle.
Brady: You're right. She can't handle it. So we -- the three of us -- are going to have to figure out how we're going to help her when the time comes because, believe me, it will. Belle is going to find out that you slept with Hope, and you can count on it.
Bo: We'll never get back what we had.
Hope: But you love me.
Bo: So what?
Hope: I know you do. Because it's everything!
Bo: Not anymore.
Hope: It's a place to start.
Bo: I don't think so. Yes, Hope, I do love you, but I don't trust you anymore. Do you know how difficult that is for me to say? To look at this face that I have loved for so many years --
Hope: Your Fancy Face, Brady.
Bo: Don't -- no. That belongs to a different time, to a man who believed in his wife, and I don't anymore.
Hope: I know. I'm so sorry about that. But we can start over. I can start over and try to be worthy of your trust if you'll let me.
Bo: No, the only way to start over is for us to get out of here, move someplace far away.
Hope: What, you mean run? No. I know you, Brady, and you'd hate yourself for doing that, and pretty soon, you'd hate me for it, too.
Bo: Yeah, well, Iím not far from that now. I told you Iíd say things to hurt you. I can't seem to stop myself.
Hope: There has to be a way, some way to repair the damage. You know... I have been in major denial. I thought I was protecting you, but I guess what I wouldn't admit is how much I wanted to protect myself and the way Iím feeling right now. Like my heart -- it's broken in thousands of pieces, and nothing will ever be able to fix it again. Probably happy that I feel this way, right? Oh, God, I had this whole fantasy going on in my head that, over time, whatever had happened between me and John would just gradually fade, you know? The years would go by, and I wouldn't even remember J.T. not being your biological son. But you know why? Because you love him so much. And what could be more important than that? What? What could be more important than that?
Bo: The truth. John is J.T.'s real father.
Hope: Right. The truth. It's hard for you to accept, and I am so sorry about that, but you know what? It has been really hard for me, too. I've been living with guilt over something that I never even had any control over.
Bo: You made a choice not to tell me. You weren't being controlled or tricked or anything else. You decided to lie to me.
Hope: Don't you have any compassion at all for what Iíve been through? It's not like I've been fantasizing about John all this time. My God, it's not even like I remember being with him!
Bo: But you do remember being with him now, right?
Sami: Marie, would you tell Austin Iím here?
Marie: Mr. Reed is out of the office, Miss Brady.
Sami: What do you mean? Do you know where he is?
Marie: He didn't leave a forwarding number.
Sami: Do you know when he'll be back?
Marie: I'm afraid not.
Sami: Do you know anything?
Nicole: Ahem. I do. I mean, after all, I am Austinís boss, so maybe I can help you out with something.
Sami: Oh, like you'd really help me.
Nicole: Come on. We've worked together before.
Sami: Not interested in the chitchat thing with you, Nicole. Where's Austin?
Nicole: Come into my office, and I will tell you what I know.
Sami: Said the spider to the fly. Oh, what the hell.
Kate: Well, hello, darling. What a surprise.
Austin: Well, you look great. I mean, well, as always.
Kate: Oh, no, not "always." It's not so long ago I was wearing secondhand clothes pretty close to rags, wouldn't you say? Do you know I lived in a car for a while? Did I ever tell you that?
Austin: No. No, you never told me that. I'm sorry.
Kate: Well, never mind. Never mind, because everything is coming up roses for your mother now. Well, with one glaring exception -- I saw the paper today. Hmm.
Austin: That. The announcement -- you know, I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you myself. That's why I came by here.
Kate: Oh, that's okay. You didn't hurt my feelings. When's the big day?
Austin: Well, we're a little short on the details, but, okay, it's going to be soon, it's going to be big, half of Salem is invited, including you.
Kate: You're sending me an invitation to your wedding to Sami?
Austin: Yes, and I expect you to be there.
Kate: No chance in hell. You know something, Austin? I would do anything for you, but I will not give you my blessing.
Austin: I don't need your blessing. I need you to start showing up in my life. I need you to be a good mother, good grandmother.
Kate: Oh. I see. Well, if Iím such a bad mother, if Iím such a bad grandmother, why are you so desperate to have me in your life?
Austin: I don't know. Mom, you're the only mother I got. After everything you've done, after all the horrible things, mom, I love you.
Kate: I just wish you didn't have such a good heart, because it makes it very easy to take advantage of you, and that's -- that's what I'm worried about. I'm worried that Sami is going to make your life hell.
Austin: Sami has changed.
Kate: Oh... You really believe that?
Austin: I've seen it, okay? I know the way she is with me. I see the way she is with Will. For Will's sake, this war has gone on way too long, and it is time for peace, mom.
Brady: All right. Too many people know about this secret. There is no way we're going to be able to keep this from Belle. So, that being said, does she find out from someone who's out to hurt her with it, or does she find out from someone who loves her? Either way, she's going to be upset. But you know what? You can't protect your kids forever. Now, Belle is a strong girl. She's more grownup than we give her credit for, so let's give her the benefit of the doubt and agree that she's not going to be totally smashed when she finds out the truth.
Brady: There. I've said my piece. The decision, obviously, is yours now. You are her parents.
Marlena: We can't control if she finds out. We can control when.
Hope: Yes, I do remember being with John. I wish to God that I didn't, but it -- it wasn't a choice. It's not like I made a conscious decision. I explained that to you.
Bo: Listen to me. Every time I see him, every time I hear his name, all I'm going to be able to think about is him making love to my wife.
Hope: It won't always be that way, Bo. We'll get past the bad memories.
Bo: This is not something you get past!
Hope: As awful and confusing as it has been for me, there is one bright spot. The memories didn't turn me back into Princess Gina, and they didn't make me stop loving you.
Bo: Let me get something straight here -- am I supposed to be happy that you remember having sex with John?
Hope: You're really getting into saying some hurtful things. Well, I have one word for you -- Billie.
Bo: That is not the same thing at all.
Hope: You're right. Because what you did with Billie Reed was much worse!
Kate: Does Sami know that you're here giving me this little peace lecture? Has she promised to let me see Will?
Austin: No. But I'm going to make it happen.
Kate: Oh. Really. Okay. Well, here's the phone. Let's call her. Why don't you call her and tell her that Iím going to pick Will up after school this afternoon. Let's see how she reacts, huh?
Austin: Don't push me, mom.
Kate: Ah, don't push -- you don't push me! I have a very long list of reasons why I hate Sami, and just because my son is stupid enough to marry her is not going to change a thing.
Sami: You know, you're not as hot as you think you are, Nicole. I had an office here, too, once.
Nicole: Ah. Hmm. But the difference is, I'm going to keep mine. Yes, so, um, are you still answering phones at the hospital? What does that pay, uh, minimum wage?
Sami: I see you have the paper. Did you read it yet?
Nicole: Yes, I saw your wedding announcement. But I don't think it was your job that got you in the society page, Sami. I think it was your hotshot mother. Let's see. Yeah.. Ah, yes. "The bride's mother is the esteemed psychiatrist Dr. Marlena Evans-Black. The groom is vice-president of public relations for Titan Enterprises." Nope. Nothing about your job here, Sami.
Sami: I thought you were going to tell me where Austin is.
Nicole: Well, duh. He's at lunch. Poor Austin doesn't have to check in with you, does he? You know, men don't really like that.
Sami: Austin loves me, Nicole, and he wants me to care about him.
Nicole: Okay. Well, you wanted Austinís ring on your finger, and you got it. So what sort of God-awful outfit are you going to try and squeeze yourself into on your wedding day, huh, Sami? Are we going to go with the, uh, the old purple sequin on spandex bodice, cut down to there?
Sami: Look, Austin likes working here. He actually likes working for you, though I don't know why. I'm not going to ruin that for him, okay? So stop trying to pick a fight with me, Nicole.
Nicole: You know what, Sami? I'm not done with you yet.
Marlena: If Belle is half as strong as her big brother, she'll come through this okay.
Brady: So you decided to tell her.
John: Looks like we have to, son.
Bo: You're trying to put me on the defensive. It will not work.
Hope: You are such a hypocrite, because when you chose to be with Billie, first of all, we were together as a couple, second of all, you were in full possession of all your faculties -- no split personalities for Bo Brady -- no. No microchips in his brain controlling his every action -- no. You wanted Billie, and you went for it, regardless of how deeply you knew that it would hurt me. Well, you know, I would've been completely justified to never speak to you again. But when things didn't work out with Billie, I forgave you. I took you back. I gave you my heart in marriage before God and our families. You know, you are so determined to stay angry with me, but you know what? I am going to continue to pray that you can find it in your heart to forgive me. You said our love could overcome any obstacle. Doesn't that mean we still have a chance, Brady?
Kate: Austin, I'm sorry. I don't mean to take my feelings out on you, but when you start talking about Sami as if she has this big halo over her head, it just makes me lose it.
Austin: I see Sami more clearly than probably anyone else in the world. I know her faults, but I also know all the wonderful things about her. She loves me, and that makes me really happy.
Kate: Carrie made you happy, too.
Austin: Damn it, mom --
Kate: The truth hurts, doesn't it? But you have a track record with Brady women, Austin.
Austin: What about your track record? I mean, after all the men you've been with, you're still alone.
Kate: All right. Out. Get out.
Austin: I'm sorry. I did not come here to fight with you.
Kate: No, you came here to ask me to forgive the unforgivable. Well, you're wasting your time. You marry Sami, you'll be sorry for the rest of your life.
Kate: Oh! Damn it.
Kate: What the hell do you want?
Roman: Well, who bit you in the butt?
Kate: Oh, your daughter, but that's old news.
Roman: Listen, I need to talk to you face to face. Can I come over?
Kate: Give me 15 minutes.
Kate: You'll be back, Austin. God won't let me lose two sons.
Nicole: Austin's only marrying you because you follow him around like a lost puppy dog, with your dog hanging out of your mouth, ready to lick his boots whenever he asks you to. You know what? You're pathetic, and you give women a bad name.
Sami: I give women a bad name? You only got this job because you put out for a man old enough to be your grandfather.
Nicole: Oh, please, you have no proof of that.
Sami: Oh, right.
Nicole: You know, Victor gave me the promotion because he didn't want to lose me to another corporation. You should thank me, Sami, because when I moved up in this company, Kate got kicked out. Otherwise, she'd be working side by side with her son undermining you every minute of every day. This way, she has to make an appointment to run you down to your fiancť.
Sami: I'm not afraid of Kate.
Nicole: Ooh. Well, you should be, because Austinís going to love his mother, no matter what she does. You see, that's the sick thing between abusive parents and their kids.. You may have that rock on your hand, but Kate will see you in hell before she lets you marry her son. Have a nice day.
Nicole: [Groans] Oh, that was fun! I should do that more often.
Marlena: I love you.
John: I think you have the right idea. If anything is going to get us through this as a family, it's the love that we have for each other. It's time to bite the bullet. You better call Bo and Hope and tell them what we decided.
Brady: You think they're going to go along with it?
John: Well, I think they probably have already arrived at the same conclusion.
Marlena: John, they're in so much pain already. I'm not sure they can take any more complications.
Bo: I don't want to feel like this, Hope. There's a part of me that wants to take you in my arms and make this whole damn thing goes away, but I can't! I mean, that would be as much of a lie as the rest of it.
Bo: I keep seeing you with John. And don't tell me you didn't know what you were doing, like it was some freakin' dream! 'Cause it wasn't a dream. J.T. is upstairs sleeping, and John Black is his father, and that is not going to go away for me, so don't talk to me about forgiveness!
Hope: I'll go to him.
Hope: J.T. is just a child, Bo. He doesn't know what we're going through.. All he knows is that he loves you and he needs you, and I need you. I was put on this earth to love you and be your wife. I'm going to pray that when I come back down, my husband's going to be waiting for me.
John: It's John. We need to talk.
Bo: If and when I am ready to talk to you, I'll let you know.
