Bo: [Thinking about past events] John is not J.T.ís father. [Echoing] Not J.T.ís father. No, no, not J.T.ís father. Not J.T.ís father. Not J.T.ís father. Why did you lie to me, Hope? You're my wife. You said you loved me. How could you do this to us? How?
Hope: Whatever happens, we all have to put the children first. Our families come first. And I have to believe that's true for Bo as well.
Belle: You're still here. You are not going to believe what Shawn and I went through tonight. Talk about disaster.
Belle: Mom, what's wrong?
Shawn-D: Why are you looking at us like that? Did something happen?
Belle: Will someone please tell us what's going on? Brady, you know what's going on, don't you? That's why you didn't want us to come inside.
Marlena: We were just talking about -- about Christmas, about how this year more than ever before, we need to count our blessings, not take for granted how lucky we are to be safe and with our families, hmm?
Hope: Yeah. I know you feel the same way, Shawn. You said these last couple of months have just made you realize how important it is to make every day count, to appreciate everything that we have. 'Cause God knows, it's fleeting, isn't it? Just never know when things are going to change.
Bo: Whoa! Hey, easy, Pop! Easy.
Bo: Yeah. You gonna hit me upside the head with this thing?
Shawn: Mother of God, I thought I heard noises. I thought maybe Somebody was breaking into the place. I didn't know what was going on.
Bo: My old all-star.
Shawn: Ah. What were you doing down here making such a racket in the dark? Why didn't you call me or your mom -- you know, let us know you were coming over?
Bo: I didn't know I was coming.
Shawn: What's happened, son? What's happened? What are you so upset about?
Bo: It's nothing, Pop. I'm fine, really. Honest-- Iím fine. Sorry, I knocked some stuff over.
Shawn: Look -- hey, look. I'm gonna fix you something. You come over here, you sit down. Take it easy. I'll be right back.
Bo: All right.
Shawn: Then we can talk, all right?
John: We can't do this.
Bo: Why not? You've obviously been doing it for quite some time.
Hope: What are you doing here?
Bo: What am I doing here? What the hell are you doing here?
John: No, listen, Bo -- aah!
Hope: Bo, don't!
Bo: Get away from my wife!
Shawn: All right. There you go. Good and hot.
Bo: Thanks, Pop.
Bo: Ma's chowder.
Barb: No! No, don't!
Doctor: Take it easy. Mrs. Reiber, you're going to be safe.
Barb: No, no, they're trying to kill me!
Brenda: Should I give her the sedative?
Doctor: No, let's wait a minute. Mrs. Reiber, take it easy.
Glen: Where is she? What have you done with her now?
Abe: She's fine, Glen. She's in there with the doctor.
Glen: Get the hell away from my wife!
Lexie: No. I told you before, I could never be responsible for killing somebody. That could never be right.
Rolf: Ah, Alexandra, think of your family.
Lexie: I am thinking of them, and I know that if I ever did something like that Ė no, I could never look them in the eye again.
Rolf: Look, Alexandra, please --
Lexie: No. I don't want to hear it. We'll pay her off. That's the best way to handle this. Get me in touch with my father. I'll get the money from him. And put that damn thing away!
Brady: Excuse me for a second, please.
Shawn-D: Okay, something happened, mom. I know that -- something serious..
Belle: You Both look really sad, and it's starting to scare me.
Shawn-D: And why are you alone? Where's dad?
Hope: He left. He, um... He went home to get some rest. He's been working extremely long hours. You know that, honey.
Shawn-D: Okay, and how were you going to get home?
Marlena: John and I are -- are, uh, giving her a lift home.
Belle: So dad's still here?
Belle: Where? Where are Abe and Lexie? Where's everyone else? Mom, answer me.
Hope: John is J.T.ís father. But only his biological father.
Hope: Bo, you're his father. In every way, you're the only father he's ever going to know.
John: Listen to her, Bo.
Bo: Stay out of this! You've destroyed my family. Don't you think that's enough?
John: I'm not going to let this happen to you, Hope...[Gasps] Or me. Families, everything destroyed.
John: Nope. Bo, I'm just going to have to make you understand.
Shawn: Come on, son, talk to me.
Bo: You know, Pop, when I was a kid, I had a bad day -- Cubbies lost or some Ė some such thing
-- I'd come home and ask Ma for some chowder. Somehow you guys had me convinced that chowder would lift my spirits, help me see the bright side of things.
Shawn: Power of suggestion, right?
Bo: Yeah. I wish I was still naive enough to believe it worked.
Shawn: What is it, son? Tell me. Tell me what happened.
Glen: Who are you?
Doctor: Colin Morrison, your wife's doctor, and I'm happy to tell you she's -- she's going to be fine.
Glen: I'm right here, I'm right here. What happened? What did they do to you?
Barb: They're trying to kill me. I'm scared, Glen! I don't want to die! I don't want to die.
Glen: Shh, shh, shh. It's okay. It's okay. You're safe now. What the hell is going on here?
Dr. Morrison: She fainted at a party and was brought here. We've checked her out. Her blood sugar is low. Has he she been under stress lately?
Glen: Yeah, she has. But all that's going to stop right now.
Abe: Where have you been?
Lexie: What's wrong?
Abe: Wrong? You forgot?
Lexie: Would you calm down?
Abe: Lexie, everything is wrong! It gets more wrong all the time!
Lexie: Would you stop yelling? Where's Barb?
Abe: She's in there. Glen's with her.
Lexie: Oh. Oh. Well, she must be in shock. I'll go check on her.
Abe: No! I want some answers. Now, what the hell are you up to?
Rolf: The drug-tipped dart I shot into Barb -- no, you cannot put me on hold, Bart! Yeah, well, your acupuncturist will call you back if it's important. This is urgent, you idiot! The drug-tipped dart I shot into Barb forced her blood sugar to go haywire. The doctors will think it's because of her pregnancy. But the next shot I give her will be different -- quite different.
Lexie: I don't know what you're talking about, Abe.
Abe: Oh, yes, you do. Why are you lying to me?
Lexie: Look, I really don't have the strength to get into another fight with you. Can't we just concentrate on tonight? Right now there's a sick pregnant woman in there. Do you mind if I go find out how she is? Let me see Mrs. Reiber's chart, please. Thanks.
Barb: Glennie, honey, hold my hand, would you?
Glen: Look, uh, could I have a few minutes alone with my wife?
Dr. Morrison: Yeah, of course.
Glen: Tell me what happened, sweetheart.
Barb: I'm so glad you're here, Glen.
Glen: Honey, you said Somebody was trying to kill you. Do you mean the Carvers?
Shawn: I-I don't want to pressure you, Bo, but, listen, wouldn't you feel better if you told me what was upsetting you like this, huh?
Hope: No matter how you feel about me right now, please, we have to put the children first, Bo.
Bo: Don't tell me what to do.
Hope: Just promise me -- not for me, please --just do it for the children. Keep it between us.
Bo: I love you, Pop, but, um, I can't talk about it.
Shawn: [Chuckles] Well, Bo, whatever it is, I-I won't judge you. You're my son, and I want to be able to help you.
Bo: You are helping me, I mean, just by being here.
Shawn: You know, your ma's been upset lately, what with you and I going round and round on this Ireland thing, you know? I've been harsh. I've been meaning to explain, you know, and -- and, well, now's as good a time as ever, I suppose, you know? It's because.... I love you. It's a clichť. I know it is, you know? But it's the truth, and it's only because... I want to protect you.
Bo: Yeah, I know that, Pop, and it's not a clichť, not coming from you. I mean, your love, it's -- it's always there. It's consistent, real. It's given me a lot of strength over the years. Still does. Right now... Feels like the only love I can count on.
Shawn: What? Whoa, wait a minute. What are you talking about? For crying -- I mean, you get love from two wonderful children that you have, don't you? And your wife? [Chuckles] I mean, I ain't never seen a woman in my whole life that did -- that loves anybody more than Hope loves you.
Chloe: All the lies. My God, why? Why did this happen? Why was hope kissing your father and how can they have a baby together?
Brady: Chloe, it's complicated, okay? Hope has memories of -- of being another person who just happened to be in love with my father, and tonight, obviously, she remembered being that person.
Chloe: Remembering being in love with him and kissing him are two different things. How can you kiss someone unless you feel something for them?
Brady: So you wouldn't kiss someone if you don't have feelings for them?
Chloe: We're not talking about me.
Brady: This is not a trick question.
Chloe: No, I would not kiss someone unless I felt something for them, if not love, then the -- the possibility of love.
Brady: You mean the way you felt for Philip?
Marlena: Honey, Lexie took a guest to the hospital.
Belle: What was wrong?
Marlena: N-nothing. She was pregnant and she -- she fainted.
Belle: Is she going to be okay?
Marlena: I'm sure she will.
Shawn-D: And where is everybody else?
Marlena: Well, they -- they -- they left.
Shawn-D: Mom, why are you shaking?
Hope: Oh, uh, just Iím a little cold. That's all.
Belle: No, that's not all. Something's wrong. Where's dad? I want to talk to dad.
John: Hi, honey.
Belle: What happened to you?
Barb: I said that? That someone is trying to kill me? Are you sure?
Glen: I heard you loud and clear, honey.
Barb: Well, I, uh, I must have been delirious.
Glen: Barb, you said it a couple of times.
Barb: It's probably 'cause I was so scared. See, I, um, I-I passed out when I saw all that blood.
Glen: Blood? What are you talking about?
Barb: Some kids were fighting. I mean, you know, this whole town is nuts, which is why all I want to do is get our money and head straight out of here. You got to find Lexie for me, Glennie. Get her in here so we can get our money.
Abe: Yeah, she was perfectly fine at the party and -- and then she just -- just passed out.
Dr. Morrison: Her blood sugar...
Lexie: [Whispers] Rolf. What are you up to?
Rolf: Oh, just keeping an eye on the situation, Alexandra.
Lexie: I told you I will take care of it. I'll pay Barb off and everything will be fine, okay? Once we get rid of her, all our worries will be over. Oh, Boy, things went great at the party -- better than we planned. Bo and Hope will be so busy concentrating on other things, sorting out the mess that their lives are in, we'll never have to deal with them suspecting a baby switch again.
Abe: Thanks, doctor.
Dr. Morrison: No problem.
Abe: All right. See you.
Lexie: Abe's looking for me. I've got to go.
Brenda: There's a bed available in room 626.
Dr. Morrison: Good, we'll keep Mrs. Reiber overnight for observation and we'll most likely release her tomorrow -- I'm sure she's going to be just fine.
Rolf: [Whispers] We'll see about that.
Shawn: I'm guessing that whatever it is that's upsetting you, has to do with Hope and your marriage. You know, I mean, it's just... Without knowing what the problem is, you know, I can't say much -- not that you're asking for advice or anything, but... I will tell you. You need to go back to Hope and talk with her. Whatever it is, you know, however serious, you -- you're not going to improve matters by being apart. Silence is the enemy right now.
Bo: But, Pop, I can't go talk to her. I wouldn't know what to say.
Chloe: Not that it is any of your business, but I did feel love for Philip before I kissed him.
Brady: And what about now?
Belle: Are you okay?
John: Yeah, Iím fine, sweetheart. How did I do, doctor?
Belle: What happened?
John: You know your old man. I dropped the soap and then I bashed my head on the sink picking it up.
Belle: It looks kind of deep, dad.
John: No, it's no big deal.
Shawn-D: You know, this whole thing, whatever happened, Belle and I are not little kids. All right? You don't have to worry about upsetting us. We can deal with it. You know what? We could even help out. So will you just please tell me what is going on?
Hope: Shawn's right. He's absolutely right. The truth is the best way to go.
Belle: The truth about what? What is it that you're not telling us?
Chloe: [Shivers] I don't want to talk about Phillip and me, okay? We have to decide what to do about what we just heard. First, we should tell Belle.
Brady: Whoa, whoa, not so fast.
Chloe: How can we keep something like this from her? And what if she finds out that we knew and didn't tell her?
Brady: Maybe we don't have to tell her. Maybe they're inside telling her right now.
Chloe: Oh, I doubt that. I saw the way that Hope and Marlena were trying to cover it up.
Brady: You know what, Chloe? We're just going to have to roll with it then because I'm not about to be the one that's going to turn my sister's world upside down.
Chloe: Keeping secrets -- no good ever comes of it.
Brady: Right, I know how you feel, and I know why, but you're just -- you're going to have to try to see the big picture here, Chloe. You and I, we come from screwed-up situations, but Belle and Shawn? They're different. All they've ever known since they were born is -- is a perfect, harmonious family life. There's no way in hell they're even remotely ready to handle something this difficult. They're just not ready.
Chloe: I think you're selling them short.
Brady: Why are you so anxious in opening this up? I don't get it.
Chloe: Because I hate secrets. How many times do I have to tell you that?
Brady: You see, I don't think so. I think that you've encountered so much unhappiness in your life that you can't wait for Belle and Shawn to get a taste of that.
Chloe: That is so unfair.
Brady: All you've ever told Belle was that life is horrible and that people will always eventually let you down, and this is a perfect opportunity to drive that point home and you can't wait to do it.
Chloe: That is a terrible thing to accuse me of.
Brady: Maybe, but it's true.
Chloe: Are you finished attacking me?
Brady: Chloe, I'm not attacking you. I'm trying to make a point clear -- that it is not your right and not your place to tell Belle and Shawn what their parents do not want them to know. So you're going to have to promise me that you're going to keep this quiet, and you're going to promise me that right now.
Marlena: There's nothing more to say. Your father, uh, your father hurt himself. He's fine. You're fine. Aren't you fine?
Marlena: And -- and, uh, Hope and I were just being overly emotional. It's the holiday season, and it's... Everything going on, you know? I want you two not to worry about it. Just focus on how nice it is to have each other. Enjoy that. Enjoy this time. It's a gift.. Love and happiness -- don't -- don't take that for granted.
Shawn-D: Right. Fine. Come on, Belle. I'm going to take you home.
Belle: Okay, I'll just see you at home then.
Shawn-D: Dad's probably waiting up for you.
Hope: Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure he is, honey.
Shawn: To see you in pain like this. I mean, it breaks my heart. I... And I'm only going to say that, you know, through all the times with your mother and me, you know, underneath the anger and the disappointment, however much we -- we made each other unhappy, and not intentionally, not intentionally, sometimes life, you know, I mean, it throws you a curve and we make the wrong choices because sometimes, I don't know, anyway, you know, no matter what was going on, somehow, we knew that there was a love there, a respect for each other that was...That was so strong. It could withstand all the mistakes, the anger. Love is -- is the most powerful thing we've got... And so we're still here, your mother and me. Our marriage survived so much. Even out of the most difficult time, there came something good, something wonderful. You, my son, who I am so proud of, who I can't imagine life without... Maybe, if you can take a look at it like that, if you can try and see that whatever's, you know, hurting you so bad, as long as you and Hope love each other, you'll turn it around. You'll make something good come out of the pain. You'll be stronger. You'll cherish each other all the more.
Glen: Forget all this talk about money, Barb. Look, I don't know what's going on here, but every time we come to this damn town, something bad happens. Enough is enough. We're out of here.
Barb: But, honey, wait. We're going to have another mouth to feed. You lost your job.
Glen: I'll get another job, Barb. We can't take money from any of these people. It's just plain wrong.
Barb: No, it isnít. We deserve that money, and I'm not leaving without it, Glen.
Glen: You just don't get it, do you? You don't understand that these people are no good. They have no conscience, Barb. Remember what happened to Marlo, huh?
Brenda: I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave now so we can prepare to move your wife to her room.
Glen: All right. All right, but we're going to continue this talk later, okay, honey? Love you.
Abe: I'm going to go find some privacy and check on Isaac.
Glen: Don't even think about going in there. Ok
Lexie: Uh, uh, I wasn't going to go in there. Um, I wanted to talk to you.
Glen: Oh, yeah? And why in the hell would I want to talk to you, huh? You think because you have money you can just roll over people like us? God, you make me sick.
Lexie: Look, Glen, look, um, can we just try to be civilized here?
Glen: Civilized, huh? You call having Barb's face slashed civilized?
Lexie: I didn't have anything to do with that.
Glen: Oh, yeah, right, just like you didn't have anything to do with her being in the hospital now.
Lexie: That's true. I didnít. As a matter of fact, Barb's the one who's been harassing me.
Glen: Harassing you? Yeah, right.
Lexie: Yeah, yeah, she came to my party badgering me, hounding me all night about money at a party for my best friend that I worked so hard to put together, that I wanted so desperately to be a success. Instead, I didn't relax for one minute, Glen. Why are you doing this to me? Why are you trying to destroy my life?
Glen: Okay, look, she said that you blew up that DNA lab to try to fool us.
Glen: And she also said that you owed us this money to make up for all the lies that you and your husband have been spinning to us since we met back at that Green Mountain Lodge.
Lexie: Yeah, but I've already given her so much money. Would you please just -- just tell her to back off, okay? I'm not a rich woman. Barb thinks that I am, but that house and everything in it belongs to my father. I don't have millions of dollars.
Glen: Wait, wait, wait. What do you mean "millions"? What are you talking about?
Lexie: Don't you know how much she's asking me for? $2 million.
Glen: What? You serious?
Lexie: Yeah. It's true. Ask her.
Glen: I had no idea. All right, Iíll talk to her, and if it's the truth --
Lexie: You'll stop her from harassing me?
Glen: You just stop harassing her. I'll take care of this, but you stay away from my wife. You hear me? And I swear if you had anything to do with what happened to her face or what happened tonight, no amount of money on earth will keep you safe from me.
Rolf: Alexandra, what was that all about?
Lexie: Rolf...Barb is going to be furious with me for spilling to Glen. If she gets mad enough, she's going to tell him the truth about the babies and my life will be over.. We must act quickly.
Rolf: Oh, I was afraid this might happen.
Lexie: Look, you have to get in touch with my father and get me that $2 million right now.
Rolf: You still think thatís the answer?
Lexie: Oh, believe me, after what you did to her tonight, sheíll take that money and leave town. She wonít come back.
Rolf: All right, all right, don't worry. I'll make sure I get the money. You go home, pretend as if everything is normal. I'll take care of things here, hmm?
Bo: You act like you know what happened. Do you?
Shawn: All I know is that you and Hope, you share, oh, a great, great love. You have two wonderful children and you've been blessed with good health... But you've got to have faith...You know that whatever this is, you can get through it. Now, love is the main thing, but faith? That plays a part, too. Believe that your love is meant to be, that you're fated to be together. That's half the battle, isn't it? Go to her, son. Go to her. Make things right no matter what it takes.
Shawn-D: Oh, you guys are still here.
Brady: Yeah, we were waiting for you. Belle, you okay?
Belle: Yeah, I'm fine.
Chloe: Are you sure? Did something happen in there?
Belle: My dad hit his head, but he's all right. It was bloody and kind of freaked me out, but he said it was an accident. He just hit his head on the bathroom sink.
Shawn-D: Yeah, but there's something more going on. They're all acting strange like they're keeping some sort of secret. And now the way you guys are looking at us... What? Do you know what it is?
Belle: Brady, come on. If you know something, tell me, please.
Hope: What am I going to do?
John: I'll tell you what we're going to do. We're all going to take a deep breath and work our way through this thing. Now, I know for a fact Bo loves his family. He's a reasonable man --
Hope: Reasonable? There is nothing reasonable about any of this. How do I explain that I thought I was in love with another man? How could I kiss you like that? How do I explain that to Bo? I love him. How do I explain? How can he forgive me for all the lies? How can anyone understand what Stefano has done to me? Even you, Marlena, I mean, you stand there accusing me with your eyes. You think this is my fault somehow, don't you? So why wouldn't Bo? I'm his wife. He saw me lying in bed with another man who just happens to be the father of my child. How can he ever feel the same way about me again? How can anything ever be the same again?
Belle: Do you know anything about this, Chloe?
Brady: All right, hey, look, you're acting like there's some big mystery here, and there isnít. Now I'm kind of hungry. I've been trying to eat this fancy food all night long and I need to get something in my stomach that's going to stick to my ribs. So what do you all say?
Belle: I'm not hungry. I ate inside. I just want to spend some time alone with Shawn.
Shawn-D: Yeah, let's go.
Brady: It's a lost cause.
Chloe: So if you know that they're going to find out, why not just tell them now?
Brady: I don't know. Maybe time will soften it a bit. I'm kind of serious about what I said, being hungry. You want to go?
Chloe: I want to get something cleared up between us before we do anything.
Brady: Go for it.
Chloe: I want to talk to you about the cruel things you said to me, and you're going to listen.
Hope: I can't believe this is finally happening.
Marlena: Hope, you said I looked at you as if I blamed you for what's happened. I donít. I don't want you to blame yourself. This is not your fault.
Hope: Bo won't see it that way.
John: He knows what Stefanoís capable of.
Hope: He won't understand this, John.
John: Then I'll have a talk with him. I need to try to make things right..
John: Brady and Chloe are still out there. I'll go out the back.
Shawn: Go home to your wife and family. They need you.
Bo: You're right, Pop. You're absolutely right.
Bo: I love you. Thanks.
Shawn: You're doing the right thing.
Lexie: Oh, my God. What am I going to do?
Abe: Lexie? Lexie? What's wrong?
Lexie: [Crying] Hold me.
Abe: Oh. What's going on, huh?
Lexie: Everything. My whole world is falling apart.
Abe: Why? What? What are you talking about?
Lexie: Don't ask me any questions.
Abe: Oh, Lexie, please, please, don't shut me out. Don't shut me out. Look at me. Look at me, Lexie. Please, look at me. There have been enough secrets, and I'm not talking about what Hope's keeping from Bo. Sweetheart, I want you to open up with me. I love you. There's nothing we can't work through. Talk to me, hmm? Talk to me.
Rolf: [Thinking] Barb will never get our money and never get a chance to tell her dirty little secret. Yes, this will take care of the problem.
